Surprised that fendas couldn't be bothered to roll out the big guns for a fellow defender region but I suppose that's just how things have always been on that side, even going back to my time in the FRA.

Operation Jailbreak: The Thrilling Conclusion

The deck of the boat rocked slightly back and forth as the water rippled from the breeze. Alex gazed at the distant shoreline of Alcatraz, their cloak swaying gently as the wind tugged this way and that at it. They took a long inhale before turning to the side and addressing the Vampire King.
"You know, running our own frontier was fun and all, but I think I've gotten as much enjoyment out of the kingpin gig as I'm going to get. It's about time for me to retire."
Valtarre nodded and spoke into a small radio, compliments of the prison's security office. "Light it up." A moment later, Whisp's voice crackled from the speaker. "Yeah, yeah, gimme a second to get the timer on these charges set. I'll meet you at the rendezvous point with any stragglers. Rudak, hand me that spool of wi-" the audio cut out, presumably as the fae flew off from holding down the transmit button to go about her business finalizing the explosives.

Moments later, distant sirens echoed their haunting warning of impending doom over the waters. A minute later, the ferry unhooked from the dock, and the last of the prison's inmates began sailing towards the small speedboat.
"Say, Alex", mused Ghazia, frowning at the distant wail of the sirens, "won't all this ruckus attract some attention? The sirens, the explosions, the exodus of prisoners? We all but told the guards we'd be sinking this place when we offered them that deal - you know, the one they rejected instead of taking the win-sortawin?"

"I wouldn't worry about it", Alex said with a smirk. "As far as they've been concerned, the last two weeks or so have been purely renovations to the old cellblocks. They're none the wiser about the charges we sank into the wet cement. Even if they hear the blast, and they left so long ago it's dubious that they will, there's no way that they could mount a response in time. And if they do..." Alex glanced at another ship, a quarter of a mile port of the speedboat, mutely spinning its newly-upgraded radar. "well, I wouldn't worry too much about that either."

Moments later, the Alcatraz prison ferry pulled up alongside the speedboat, exactly as scheduled on the mounds of paperwork bursting out of every compartment onboard. Perched just outside the blast radius, the motley collection of assassins, enforcers, gang leaders, and inmates alike gathered to face the still form of the correctional facility on the horizon. For a long moment, there was nothing but the faint splashing of the waves and the drone of evacuation sirens. Then, in a flash of light, the charges detonated, and the outline of the empty prison was replaced with an enormous fireball, and a sound like an enormous cannon raced over the water. Alex's hair fluttered in the sudden breeze, the hood of Royal's cloak was snagged and pushed back down by the burst of wind, and Ghazia was forced to take a small step back as the shockwave washed over the crew. Once the smoke cleared, the view on the horizon was drastically different - where once had loomed a mighty prison, there was now little more than a crater.

"Yes!" Alex exclaimed, elongating the s for some reason. "We did it!" They thrust their firsts skyward, drinking in the sight of the smouldering ruin of Alcatraz. They hadn't known precisely the adventure of a lifetime that lay in store for them when they'd first set foot in that dusty old prison, but as they reveled in the dissipating smoke of the explosion, they knew they couldn't be happier with the last chapter of that particular story.

Should the Shadow Wizard Money Gang's leadership ever again make such a kind and gentle offer to the self-ordained keepers of the peace, they would be wise to grant it greater consideration. Don Valtarre and Capo Alex came to you on the day of your liberation's beginning, and offered to not only preserve this prison's lengthy history, but to let the peace keepers author that history. It was a generous compromise, and yet, their faces were spat in.

And so, now that history is gone, and the rubble left behind is ours. Shadow Rich Gang just took the ADN's soul, and you're never gettin' it back. Let history now forget Alcatraz. Remember instead that Defenders were offered the chance to barter for its memory and chose not only to have no say in the matter, but to ignore the warnings of impending destruction entirely.
