No, you do not have to be a fundie to be Christian. But right now Dominionism is rife among Republicans in government at both state and federal level, so any 'Christian Democracy' in the US at the current time would rapidly become 'Dominionist Theocracy'. One could argue we're already about 90% of the way there anyway.

Do you people know what Christian Democracy means?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_democracy I'm talking about this.

I am well aware; I'm originally from the UK (although currently resident in the US) so I'm familiar with European style Christian democracy. What I'm saying is that it would rapidly be taken over by Dominionists in the US, simply because they constitute a large portion of the political leadership in one of the country's two major parties. In order to institute a European-style Christian democracy without the risk of that happening, a massive overhaul would be needed of the entire US political system, including a near total rewrite of the Constitution.

You don't need to rewrite the constitution, I don't remember any country rewriting the constitution when a new ideology appears. Especially because Christian democractic proposals, such as labor rights or banning abortion, already have some strenght in the US.

Although the electoral college does need to go.

I would continue the conversation, but then again you said that you don't care if I'm referring to something European. So this will be my final reply.

I'm talking about European-style Christian Democracy (Which you should have no problem with since you want to bring European-style Democratic Socialism to the US), so in a few terms: A social market economy (Capitalism with welfare and regulations) influenced by distributism (economic doctrine which promotes economic decentralization while preserving private property) to reduce the corporate culture in the US, which was what we were originally talking about.

Maybe Carverton should focus on becoming an American citizen first, before thinking he has a say in what political ideologjes the US should adopt.
“Never believe that [fascists] are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The [fascists] have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.”

European style tends to have a Westminster style parliament involved though. That would require a massive change in the structure of the US political system.

Trump refuses to show up at New York fraud trial

Do you believe there are meaningful impacts of this decision or is it just another daily update that has little meaning in how the future will hold out for Trump?
