Minister of Gaeltic Affairs and Integration of the Throngist Republic of Lesva, the Honorable Monten Perco, has taken a delegation of Officials of the Throngist Government on a visit to the fellow State of the United Federation of Gael - the Federation of Balnik. This is the first visit between both Allies since the Federation of Balnik helped the Throngist Republic of Lesva by deploying its' own Police to help Our Police in reinstating control over Internal Order during riots. Now, the current visit will be related to the conversation that began between both Countries about signing an agreement on creating the United Federation Police Force in further integration in the ranks of the United Federation of Gael. However, seeing to how the Minister of Gaeltic Affairs and Integration of the Throngist Republic of Lesva is leading a larger Delegation of Throngist Government Officials, the talks could be more extensive and cover more areas.

Lesvan Volunteer Regiment (LVR) offers to help protect Ainslie's Lesvans in case of threat from Throngist Lesva

As Ainslie's Lesvan community begins raising concerns that Throngist Lesva may one day claim parts or entirety of the Sapphire Coast, which was one of the territories that was subject to past wars between the Kingdom of Norland and the Principality of Peicritar, the Lesvan Volunteer Regiment (LVR), a paramilitary volunteer organization formed by and consisting of the international Lesvan diaspora, has come forth with an offer to help protect Ainslie's Lesvans in case of a military threat from Throngist Lesva, especially towards residents of the Sapphire Coast. Moreover, LVR stated that in the case of Throngist Lesva's individual military aggression or a joint United Federation of Gael aggression together with Balnik, against Ainslie for the sake of possibly claiming the border regions, LVR would be ready to offer its' help to the military of Ainslie in defending all of its' citizens and residents, not just ethnic Lesvans, against outside aggression. At the same time, despite Throngist Lesva itself being silent and claiming to be pro-peace, with its' especially careful and neutral stance towards Ainslie as a neighbor, thus voicing that there are no plans to threaten Ainslie, LVR believes that despotic regimes cannot be trusted because of their decayed morality, especially considering the fact that Throngist Lesva has proven itself to be hazardous towards international security and stability with its' sponsorship of foreign military conflicts. This makes Throngist Lesva even more of a threat than Balnik.

The region mourns today, following a mass shooting in Southern Rebeira, Tricklandia, and the deaths of four individuals. According to The Sentinel, "a 34-year-old foreign citizen residing in Tricklandia on a temporary work visa, reached the entrance of Law & International Relations Pre-Tertiary Institute of Southern Rebeira today November 29th, 2023, at approx. 3.30pm, embracing an illegally owned semi-automatic assault rifle, and opened fire on the main hall" in an act that can only be described as a hate crime. The individual, Vânlē Rishar Chae'La Nihâman, purposely targeted individuals that had an appearance that made them appear as Maurican or of Maurican descent. The Sentinel also reports that Rishar Nihâman held several classrooms hostage, ordering all non-Mauricans out before shooting those who remained, and fleeing the scene of the crime. Chancellor Costava has stated that the hearts and minds of the Costavozkan people are with the victims and the families of the victims, condemning these attacks. In addition, the Ministry of National Defense has announced a temporary increase in security measures in public places, in order to deter any potential attacks of this kind in Costavozka.

BREAKING NEWS - Chancellor Costava "In Critical Condition But Recovering" Following Assassination Attempt

For the second time within two days, tragedy has struck the isles, but this time, much closer to home. Following a visit to the National Healthcare Center in Flodvik for a tour and speech on the importance of healthcare, Chancellor Costava was severely wounded by several bullet wounds from an unknown assailant while entering his armored car. In addition to the Chancellor, two members of the National International Intelligence and Information Initiative acting as security detail were severely wounded, as with a noble member of the general public who attempted to seize the shooter. Following this, the assailant fled the scene, while the Chancellor and other victims were escorted back into the hospital for medical treatment. Despite several suspects having been taken into custody, authorities report that it is probable that the assailant is still at large, and that all suspects are being detained for purposes of national security. Medical specialists treating the Chancellor have reported that Costava is in critical condition, but is likely to make a recovery. No word has yet been released. In the meanwhile, Prime Minister Ivzania- the 13th Chancellor of Costavozka- has taken over the duties of the Chancellor while Costava is hospitalized, as per the duties of the position. Infamous Mass Shooter Rishar Nihâman Found In Solaryia

VISEGRAD, SOLARYIA - Author of last week's mass shooting in Rebeira, Vânlē Rishar Chae'La Nihâman, has been found by Solaryí authorities hiding in an abandoned building on the outskirts of the city of Visegrad.

From early investigation, it is suspected that the killer smuggled himself into a cargo ship transporting goods from Rebeira's port to Salimanasia on Friday, December 1st, and then hid in Salimanese territory until he reached Xolxanco City airport, embarking on a flight to Visegrad under a fake identity on Thursday, December 7th.

It is yet unknown whether he had any help in any part of the escape journey, but it's highly suspected due to distances and resources required to reach such destinations in secret and in allotted time.

It is also inquired that Rishar Nihâman was planning to re-enter the Tsunterlands by traversing the patch of Mesder Sea between its territory and Solaryia. Again, it is suspected that complicit individuals may be residing in Tsunter territory.

Solaryí authority has been fully compliant with international laws and is currently holding Rishar Nihâman in a temporary maximum security holding cell; he will be soon extradited to Tricklandia, awaiting trial. The court appointment will be closed to all media agencies, journalists and bystanders, as to allow maximum privacy and transparency for this attention-garnering case.

President Renée Nicole has briefly spoken, asking the governments of the Tsunterlands, Salimanasia and Solaryia to "please investigate closely on any possible RHR or RHR-adjacent resurgent movements" and believing that "much will be done towards eradicating hate crime. Op-ed: 90s-era education reforms have failed Takiv's students. Here's how to fix it.

Ever since the passage of the Increasing Standards in Education Act 1993 and the Regional Education Appropriations Act 1994, every public school department in Takiv has been required to use standardized examinations at the end of each level of education, with your score on the test determining if you can make it to the next school level or not. A score of 60% or above means that you pass and continue on, while a score lower than that means you have one chance to retake the test or be forced to repeat a year of schooling. At the time, the creation of standardized tests was intended to incentivize students to work harder in school, and to reward schools that prepared their students well with extra funds. However, this vision has only led to high-performing schools in predominantly wealthy areas to get even more money. A 2015 study by the National Association of Educators found that schools located in the top 200 provinces by average income had average test scores 15% above the national average. Students with wealthy families have also begun enrolling in expensive "prep courses" that claim to teach students exactly how to pass the tests well. Meanwhile, low-performing schools in economically disadvantaged areas have less funds to address student underperformance and work to improve on it. It is clear that the original intent of standardized testing, to promote rewards based on merit and ability, have instead concentrated government funding in wealthy schools instead of the poorer schools that need it most.

To fix this broken system, schools with low test scores should get more of the money than schools with high scores. Such a system would allow for greater funds to improve upon the low scores and make education more equitable for all of Takiv's children. Schools with high scores are usually in wealthier areas, so funding contributions from local taxes would be able to support the loss of revenues from test scores. All schools would still receive their normal funding from the national government as well. If this policy were implemented, several studies including one published last year from the Council for Education Reform show that overall score averages would likely increase due to increased opportunities for low-income students.

Mass Shooter Kills 10, Wounds 7 in Kaplo's Baumestown
Edrano Salbik, December 8th, 2023

Yesterday, Tsunter-Kravatoan shooter Conal Chae'La Mailles killed ten and wounded seven Maurico-Kravatoans in Kaplo's Baumestown. Conal Chae'La Mailles was shot dead by officers of the Kaplo Police Department during his spree, preventing further death or damage. Chae'La Mailles was a 23-year-old citizen of Kravato, born and raised in Kaplo.

At 8:15 pm, he entered the Cabral Bakery, a Maurican bakery in southern Baumestown. He had reportedly visited the site four days prior but had not bought any goods. It is believed that he had been planning his attack here. He killed three in the bakery and injured one.

Around 8:20, 5 minutes into his spree, the police were first called. At this point, he was exiting the bakery and moving to his next target, a barbershop. In this location, he killed one and injured two people. According to witness reports, he specifically targeted his fire on Maurican and Maurican-looking clients and employees.

From the barbershop, he then crossed the street to enter the Tavares, a Maurican Cafe. After killing a Maurican pedestrian, he would go on to kill six and wound one, around 8:24.

At 8:25, KPD Officers in cruisers identified Chae'La Mailles as the shooter and began to pursue him. He began a chase on foot, climbing a fence wall to enter Hennerko Fria Middle School, a Middle School in Baumestown with a primarily Maurican student body. Upon reaching the other side of the fence, he was able to wound one more, a Maurican student at the middle school.

However, he was soon after shot by Officer Samvel Pitan of the KPD. The shot was fatal, and Chae'La Mailles bled out in minutes. In a sequence of two minutes, further police aid would arrive to ensure the security of the school and local neighborhood, as well as medical personnel for those who had died and the injured.

This shooting is believed to be inspired by the Anti-Maurican shooting in Rebeira, Tricklandia. After short investigation, the KPD found that Chae'La Mailles had a "Political and Racial Reasoning" for his shooting, according to a KPD press release.

It was also found that he broadcasted the duration of the shooting to several online chatrooms on various sites, with chatlogs indicating that Chae'La Mailles was cheered on and congratulated for his actions. It was even indicated that several chatters suggested "Hitting a School" during the shooting, advising him how to maximize his effects.

As of this date, the KPD has not yet released the Manifesto in full, and until then, more about this tragic event cannot be known.

Today's session at the Supreme National Carto of the Throngist Republic of Lesva has once again begun with a moment of silence. This time it was over the mass shooting in Kravato. Head of State and Party, First Secretary of the Throngist Movement Party of Lesva, the Honorable Cebra Tolar, has invited Members of the Throngist Movement Party of Lesva to join Him in a moment of silence to honor the victims of the mass shooting.

Lesvan Throngist Republic's doctors, still active in Kravato over the Sapli Fever, have raised the national flags of the Lesvan Throngist Republic and the Kravatoan Forumnial Kingdom with black ribbons attached on them, outside the medical headquarters.

First Secretary of the Throngist Movement Party of Lesva Cebra Tolar has launched the campaign of educating school children on gun violence and talking to them about it. According to this campaign, the First Secretary of the Throngist Movement Party of Lesva would speak to school children about the subject, allowing them to process the recent tragedies in Tricklandia and Kravato, finding out how school children view the topic of gun violence, and allowing them to draw the distinction between being prepared to defend the Homeland against foreign invasion and between armed violence against fellow citizens in the Homeland's streets.

First Secretary Cebra Tolar plans to visit as many schools and facilities of higher education across the Lesvan Throngist Republic in the campaign, starting with the Saela Elementary School today. Costavozkan Chancellor remains in recovery following assassination attempt

(Erisdany) First, the latest from New Edevar, where Gregory Costava, the 61-year-old Chancellor of the People's Republic of Costavozka, remains in hospital following an assassination attempt over a week ago. The attacker shot at Chancellor Costava as he was entering a vehicle following a public event. Medical staff tending to the Chancellor have since reported that he is making a recovery following the attack, although it is not yet known whether he will be able to resume his duties as leader of the North Argean state. In his absence, the Prime Minister, Sonja Ivzania, has taken over Costava's duties as chancellor.

(Santes) Neither the identity nor the motive of the attacker is yet publicly known; however, Costavozkan National International Intelligence and Information Initiative, or CNI4, have stated they are searching for a 32-year-old male, and that anyone with any more information about the perpetrator should contact them immediately and avoid contact with the suspect.

(Erisdany) Today, the Executive Council of the Tsunterlands released a statement in support of the Costavozkan chancellor and people, wishing him a quick convalescence. They also claimed that Tsunter security and intelligence forces will assist Costavozka however they can, and if the attacker is found within the Tsunterlands, he will be extradited at the earliest opportunity. A public service announcement was issued in the Tsunterlands, warning people to be on the lookout for men in their early 30s with foreign accents.

Tsunter Government announces inquiry into renewed RHR activity following shootings in Kravato and Tricklandia

(Santes) Next, barely a week after a Tsunter national attacked a school in Tricklandia, a second attack has unfolded in Kaplo, Kravato. Three days ago, Conal Mailles, a 23-year-old citizen of Kravato of Tsunter heritage, went on a rampage in Baumestown, a district of Kaplo with a prominent Maurican community. During his rampage, he killed ten and wounded seven more before being shot by local police officers after he entered a middle school.

(Erisdany) Police have informed the public that the shooting is being treated as a terror incident and is being related, or at least inspired by, the tragic events that unfolded in Rebeira over a week ago. According to the Kravatoan authorities, Mailles had penned a manifesto outlining his motivations. He also livestreamed the attack online and was "cheered on" by several watchers. Neither the manifesto nor the chat logs of the livestream have yet been released.

(Santes) After two seemingly similar attacks have occurred in such a short span of time, many, especially those in the Maurican community, are now calling on the Tsunterlands to respond to this onset of Maurophobia within its populace. The Tsunter government seemed to have bowed to pressure as today the Tsunter Parliament voted to hold a public inquiry into so-called "militant maurophobia." The Parliament stated that it intended for the Tsunter government to work in full cooperation with the governments of Kravato and Tricklandia in understanding these events and working to ensure they are never repeated.

(Erisdany) One particularly prominent question on many people’s minds is that do these attacks represent a re-emergence of the Red Hand Regiment, the paramilitary group responsible for murdering as many as 20,000 people during the conflict known as the Trials, an ethnic struggle between Maurican Separatists and Tsunter Loyalists within the Interior of the Tsunterlands. Rishar Nihâman, perpetrator of the Rebeira shooting, claimed to have been visited by the late Shrike Nihâman, the RHR’s former leader, in his dreams.

(Santes) However, this public inquiry has been met with some hostility in parts of the Interior, with the Eastern Tsunter Heritage Alliance, an advocacy group representing the interests of ethnic Tsunters living in the Interior, warning that the inquiry could "reopen old wounds" and "undo years of healing." Meanwhile, the Maurican People’s Party has welcomed the inquiry but said that it should focus on helping Mauricans living in the Tsunterlands and not become focused just on placating the Tsunterlands' foreign partners.

Baumestown Shooter's Manifesto Released

In the wake of the investigation of the Baumestown shooting, the KPD has decided to release the Baumestown shooter's manifesto. The manifesto was written and posted online in one of the many chatrooms that the shooter, Conal Chae'La Mailles, used to talk about topics such as the RHR and the "Greater Limnian" conspiracy theory.

During his livestream of the shooting, found shortly after his death at the hands of KPD officers yesterday, viewers gave him support, chatting phrases such as "Let's get it to 20,000", "Clear the Jungle Out", "Turn the Lake Crimson", and "W Shrike". Each of these phrases can be traced to Red Hand Regiment (RHR) history and rhetoric, with the first referencing the Maurican death count from late 80s RHR Massacres, the second a common way of referencing Maurican neighborhoods. The third is a reference both to the crimson red Tsunter Flag (Making a place Crimson/Tsunter) and making a place crimson as in blood red, with lake referencing Lake Ragya at the center of the Tsunter Interior.

The final phrase is an amalgamation of RHR and online-Maurophic talk, as Colonel "Shrike" was the leader of the RHR, and these tragic events would be a "Win" for him. It's telling of a sort of "online rebirth" of Anti-Mauricanism and somewhat of the RHR.

We advise readers to be cautioned while reading the manifesto. It contains frequent profanity, and is of a violent, racist nature. It is alarming and threatening. It is as follows:

"I’ve lived in Kaplo for my whole life. My parents were Tsunters, and I am foremost a Tsunter, but this place is my city. And it’s being fucking lost.

We started losing it when we let the Mauricans in after the IW. We treated them like people. But they’re not people. They’re fucking mold. They get on nice things, societies, like bread, and they grow and fester until the societies are decrepit and ruined. They’re too lazy, too incapable to grow on their own. They need to live in other countries, societies, because they can’t make anything good alone.

It’s because they have fucked values. They’re too lazy, too incompetent, to get things done. Look at Baumes. They can’t govern themselves properly, like everyone else can. They can’t even make sure their airlines are legal. They’re selfish and immoral too. They dump all their shit and waste into the ocean, fucking everyone else. They blow smoke into the air like it’s 1830, because if it isn’t fucking them, they can’t see what’s wrong.

And, ever since the riots in 1996, they’ve controlled this half of town. You’d think they own all of Baumestown, not Kravatoans or the city of Kaplo. And, the mold is pushing for more of this city, more of every city in Kravato.

Edressa has a Maurican mayor now. Kaplo had one, but luckily we got that mold out of the office. Those people are trying to take control of every city and state they can now. They try to get back at us Tsunter-Kravatoans for the trials, even though we unfortunately had nothing to do with them. They try to paint the heroes fighting for stability there as racists. They oppress every other ethnic minority in this country, and hide behind being one. They’re even saying that Kravato was an imperialistic empire. I’m not purely Kravatoan, but how the hell do my Kravatoan friends stand for this shit?

Now Baumestown is the filthiest part of Kaplo. And I can’t let my city become this. I can’t let Kravato become this way. You can’t just tolerate mold. You have to remove it, while you can. The mold has to know it isn’t wanted. And I’m going to fucking show it.

Until now, all the shit they’ve brought up is fake. The beatings that caused the ‘96 riots were justified, and against felons. Any other attacks here, and in the Tsunterlands, weren’t over race, but just class infighting. The Trials were right, too. The Mauricans were attacking, killing, and raping Tsunters in our own country. The shit we did in the IW was purely logistical as well. Really, there are few cases of actual racial violence against Mauricans. It’s all been spun up by the Mauricans in college with their little degrees.

But I’m going to give them some fucking racial violence. I’m going to show them what racial violence really looks like. Their mess won’t stand, and I won’t let it. I have to do this for my country, my ancestors, for the future of this city. I don’t care if they stop me, we have to start something. We have to start the cleanup of this city, this country. And I’m doing it tomorrow. "

Conclusion

As previously stated, the manifesto is alarming. He cites the Mauricans as less than human and justifies atrocities against them. The most alarming part, however, is Chae'La Mailles's use of the word "We". As said before, he was chatting with groups of hundreds of others about topics such as the RHR and related groups on these threads. These online groups could be the source of the new wave of Anti-Mauricanism and the seeming revival of the RHR as a movement.

For now, all we can do is see what the future holds and if there are any more key details in the case of Chae'La Mailles.

Ira previously headed GLPRIE prior to the incorporation of CPRLIE, while another ex-PM Agen Vopal was head of government in GLPRIE at that time. Later, Pagala Ira and Agen Vopal switched positions, with Vopal becoming the new head of GLPRIE, while Ira took on the post of head of government, with both directly switching positions with each other. Since a deal was made between GLPRIE and CPRLIE to merge through the incorporation of CPRLIE into GLPRIE, Agen Vopal transferred the position of head of the government-in-exile to ousted President Puicu Gevin and went on to other duties, while Ira remained head of government. Ira and Vopal have declared today that they would interchange positions at some point on a rotational basis. Currently, Ira has hinted at efforts to possibly form a cabinet with appointed Ministerial positions to complete the transformation of a full alternative government of Lesva to the Throngist regime.

By the request from the united Government of the Lesvan Presidential Republic in exile, which was created following its' incorporation of the Council of the President of the Republic of Lesva in exile, Great Altera has submitted Resolution 30: Concerning the Legitimacy of Governance in the Republic of Lesva at The League of The Western Isles. Basically, as in their original plan, the united government-in-exile made sure that Resolution 30, which was authored by the representatives of Great Altera but co-authored by the government-in-exile, includes a number of terms, but calls for two essential things to be accomplished - remove recognition from the Throngist regime in Lesva and recognize the Lesvan government-in-exile as the sole legitimate government of Lesva, while the Throngist regime would virtually have no legal status as an existing entity. If this resolution passes, it would isolate the Throngist regime completely, because it would no longer be recognized by the international community as a whole and it would basically be illegal to cooperate with the Throngist regime under international law mandated by The League.

Currently, the resolution is at its' discussion phase, with the voting phase to follow. Lesvan diaspora is paying attention to this story, but largely remains cold towards the government-in-exile as the old authoritarian government that was deposed and replaced by a Throngist dictatorship, but now aims to return to power as the sole legitimate government of Lesva. The diaspora hesitates to get behind the government-in-exile, instead opting to focus on growing civil and social diaspora organizations among Lesvan communities abroad, the largest in Ainslie, and also growing and strengthening the diaspora's own military force - Lesvan Volunteer Regiment (LVR) from donations.

After creating a united government-in-exile by incorporating the former Council of the President of the Republic of Lesva in exile into the larger Government of the Lesvan Presidential Republic in exile, the self-proclaimed alternative government of Lesva has now announced that it would likewise be merging the military wings of the previously separate two governments-in-exile. Lesvan Liberation Army (LLA) and the Lesvan Resistance Forces (LRF) would be merged into one to create a single and larger Lesvan National Army (LNA), an armed military wing of the united government-in-exile. Ousted President Puicu Gevin, who now leads the united government-in-exile, has stated that just like the united government-in-exile is the true government of Lesva, so is the newly formed LNA the true military of Lesva, instead of the Lesvan Throngist Armed Forces.

How the Tsunterlands failed to prevent the re-emergence of ultranationalist terrorism

Major failures in intelligence sharing by Tsunter security agencies have allowed Maurophobia and militant Tsunter ultranationalism to spread unchecked online, according to a reliable source in the Anārnès Safòle Halouler (the Centre for National Security, otherwise known by the acronym ASH). This source told the Ba Barossa Independent that the ASH was aware that Conal Mailles, the perpetrator of the Baumestown shooting, was a potential terror threat but chose not to alert Kravatoan authorities prior to the shooting taking place. Furthermore, the ASH also did not alert its Tricklandian counterparts of potential RHR infiltration in the Tricklandian Chamber. This information came from a six-hour interview conducted with a whistleblower from within the ASH. Our source has asked to be left unnamed; however, we have been able to corroborate the details they gave us and can confirm that the source works in the ASH’s Counterterrorism Division. For the purposes of this article, we will refer to the source as Abāham to preserve his identity.

Conal Mailles, who killed ten people in Kaplo, Kravato in an attack targeting the Maurican community there, had made several attempts to contact former members of the now-defunct Tsunter ultranationalist group, the Red Hand Regiment (RHR), for over a year before carrying out his attack. From 1970 to 1990, the RHR was a major force in the Trials conflict in the Tsunter interior, battling the Maurican Sovereignty Front and carrying out a number of attacks against Maurican citizens living in the Interior. In 1986, the RHR carried out a brutal campaign of ethnic cleansing, killing over 20,000 Mauricans who had been forcibly relocated by the military government of the Tsunterlands into “security settlements.” The RHR officially disbanded in 1990 following the surrender of its leader Shrike Nihâman.

While in the Tsunterlands, Mailles reportedly wrote five times to Vamín Nihâman, an RHR commander who had organized the killing of around 3,100 people during one of these massacres and has been serving a whole-life sentence at Gothray Landbrig since 2002. Since the death of the RHR leader Shrike Nihâman in 2015, Vamín Nihâman is arguably the highest-profile still-living member of the RHR. In his letters, Conal Mailles repeatedly claimed to be disgusted by the presence of Mauricans in Kravato, argued that Vamín Nihâman and other prosecuted RHR members had been wrongfully committed, and claimed that the massacres carried out by the RHR had been exaggerated or falsified. He also claimed that Kravato needed its own national chapter of the RHR to “destroy the mold” in the country, referencing the Maurican community.

As with all correspondence to prisoners, these letters were opened by Gothray Landbrig’s administration. Copies of the letters were sent to Anārnès Safòle Halouler (the Centre for National Security, otherwise known by the acronym ASH). As Mailles frequently traveled between Kravato and the Tsunterlands, he was listed as a candidate to be designated as a person of interest by the Division of Counterterrorism at the ASH due to his terroristic beliefs. However, according to Abāham, this was decided against as Mailles was “not considered a threat to the Tsunterlands.” At no point did the leadership of the Division of Counterterrorism consider alerting the Kravatoan government that one of its citizens had become radicalized and was likely preparing to take violent action.

Abāham claims this is part of a systemic failure of the Tsunter intelligence and security community to confront the re-emergence of the RHR and how it demonstrates the Tsunter intelligence community's cultural attitude of suspicion in regard to sharing information with foreign governments. As evidence for this claim, they informed us the ASH now has credible evidence that the RHR has managed to “infiltrate” the Tricklandian Chamber, the national legislature of Tricklandia. According to Abāham, RHR associate Carmīna Haunt, now uses her position as a special advisor to Tricklandia politician Arnoud Harvey to help secure new identities for former RHR members who emigrate to Tricklandia. From 1984 to the RHR’s official disbandment in 1990, Haunt allegedly worked as a “political officer” for the RHR, effectively a liaison between the paramilitary and the government of the Tsunterlands which at the time was under military rule. Haunt was arrested in 2008 and was charged with a number of offenses including concealment of information and providing material support for a terrorist organization, serving five years of a thirteen-year sentence. After being released, Haunt relocated to Tricklandia where she found employment working for the Tricklandian Democratic Party, eventually being hired as a special advisor by Arnoud Harvey.

Although it has not been confirmed, it seems very unlikely that neither Harvey nor the Democratic Party were unaware of Ms. Haunt’s affiliation with the Tsunter paramilitary organization. Arnoud Harvey was also a member of the Chamber Intelligence and Security Committee, and therefore it should be assumed that all his staff had comprehensive background checks at which point Haunt’s criminal record should have been exposed. The fact that Haunt was able to acquire a senior position to a member of the Tricklandian government suggests either a deliberate cover-up of her history or a decision was made to ignore the risk she posed. This, however, is all conjecture at this moment.

Abāham was, however, able to tell us that the ASH has credible intelligence that Haunt has used her position as Special Advisor to a senior member of the Tricklandian chamber to help resettle other former members or associates of the RHR in Tricklandia, help source them with new identities to hide their history, and may be attempting to plant these RHR members in positions in industry and government within Tricklandia. It should be noted that [we] have been unable to verify that final claim. We should also note that so far there is no evidence that Haunt had any contact with Rishar Nihâman, the individual responsible for carrying out the Rebeira Shooting in Tricklandia two weeks ago. Abāham claims that none of the intelligence relating to Haunt’s activities was shared with the Tricklandian government. Abāham attributes this to a culture of paranoia within the Tsunter intelligence community resulting from a lack of trust in the intelligence and security apparatus of other nations.

Abāham also informed us that the ASH has both misunderstood and ignored the re-emergence of the RHR in online spaces as a prominent terror threat. Multiple forums, chatrooms, and image boards now exist where Tsunter ethnonationalist extremists share conspiracy theories, encourage each other to try radicalizing potential comrades, and even share advice on how to “combat” Mauricans and others who supposedly threaten the Tsunterlands. When Conal Mailles livestreamed his bloody rampage through the streets of Kaplo, he livestreamed his actions and was encouraged by commenters using phrases like "Let's get it to 20,000", "Clear the Jungle Out", "Turn the Lake Crimson", and "W Shrike," which can all be traced back to online spaces where support for the RHR has been allowed to foster.

Despite the spread of this rhetoric online, it has been largely ignored both by the general public, politicians, and intelligence analysts. The latter’s failure Abāham attributes to a disregard within the Tsunter intelligence community for Open-Source Intelligence. Abāham claimed that over the past three years, the ASH’s Counterterrorism Divisions public hotline, along with police hotlines from across the Tsunterlands, have received over 250 reports from the general public about “online extremist activities.” Abāham admits that reports from the general public on terror threats are more often than not false alarms; however, he stated there is a serious problem within the Counter-terrorism Division not following up on reports from the general public. Furthermore, the fact that this intelligence was primarily coming from online spaces meant it was not taken seriously by Counterterrorism Division. The result of this disregard has been obvious, with two terror attacks in as many weeks that seemed to have blindsided both the people of the Western Isles and the forces supposed to protect them.

The revelations from Abāham paint a disturbing picture of systemic failures in Tsunter intelligence and security operations. The failure to share critical information regarding Conal Mailles' potential threat, the apparent infiltration of the Tricklandian Chamber by the Red Hand Regiment (RHR), and the negligence in addressing the resurgence of RHR activities in online spaces all underscore a grave lack of coordination and diligence within the Tsunter intelligence community. The tragic consequences of these oversights are evident in the recent terror attacks, with innocent lives lost and communities traumatized. The refusal to acknowledge and act upon intelligence reports, both from within the intelligence community and the general public, highlights a dangerous culture of disregard for open-source intelligence and a reluctance to collaborate with foreign governments. As the Western Isles grapple with the aftermath of these attacks, it becomes imperative for Tsunter authorities to conduct a thorough internal review of their intelligence-sharing protocols, emphasizing the importance of proactive collaboration, vigilance in monitoring online extremist activities, and a commitment to transparency.

Special Reporting: Election 2023

COUR ROUGE - Over the Union Day holidays, Congress concluded the last of its business in the familiar fashion at the end of its two-year terms. President Dyson has declined to respond to Congress' inquiries to extend their session further, has adjourned for the election recess, during which the election of its members is called by the Electoral Commission, which officially starts the campaigning season.

Initial opinion polling as of 2 November shows that the President's party, Dormill and Stiura, Forwards, maintains high confidence among voters despite various foreign policy blunders during this term, pointing to improvements in the economy and local national security since the Dociara Crisis as accomplishments of the Dyson Administration. Polling further suggests that the dynamics within the Liberal Unity Coalition, consisting primarily of the Liberal Party, the Democratic Party, and the Labor Party, continues to shift in favor of the Democrats and their anti-federalist messaging; polls have also shown a broad decrease in support for the right-wing People's Interest coalition parties, particularly as the Center-Union hardliners continue to joust with their Conservative Party counterparts on culture war issues.

Campaigns for the congressional elections opened soon after that though unofficial campaigning had as usual begun during the summer primaries while campaigns for this year's slate of Republic and local elections have been ongoing since August.

Races to Watch

As tomorrow's election draws closer, the Dispatch has identified ten key races to watch.

Kapolder-A2
Like all other multi-member districts in the United Republics, competition for seats here is fierce and driven at the party-level. Kapolder's multi-member seats are distinct in that they are centered over the wards of Kapolder City proper and represent large segments of the some six million people who call it home. Any swing among the ten seats here, most of which are held by Forwards, can also spell disaster in the National Assembly with Reform's one-seat majority. Campaigning by both Reform parties and Liberal Unity parties have intensified in a reflection of the new normal of Doraltic party politics.

Ardeda-5
Ardeda's Fifth District, centered on rural communities bordering Keomora and largely settled by Europeans had been a stronghold for the Republic's conservative voices for decades until lately, coming under the fold of the ever populist Center-Union party in the 2013 election of Samaa Forest. In a surprising yet not shocking turn of events, the strongest contender out here is Colin Van Dalen, a Conservative town official who has campaigned on traditional values that he claims the incumbent Forest has neglected in Cour Rouge for as long as she has. Fights like this represent the fractures in the right's "People's Interest" coalition, which has been polling far below their 1995 high.

Stiura-6
Incumbent Ardal Peters (D) faces a challenge from Willis Adamson (A) for the seat between eastern Veldzicht and the Kapolderian border. The seat, polling with a significant Liberal Unity advantage, was one of several compromise seats opened up for competition within the coalition for this year's election after Labor's insistence to gain more representation within the group to maintain their ailing individual polling.

Zwolle-A4
Just like in Kapolder, the urban landscape has opened up another front for Reform-Liberal competition as Forwards keeps up the pressure in a close race with the Democrats. Though Forwards leads the Republic overall, the proportion of the five members here can shape the balance of the entire Congress, demanding increased fundraising and campaigning on all sides.

New Friesland-6
The rural center of New Friesland is also a battleground of People's Interest's current bout of infighting as Antonin Hood, supported by his brother Patrick, seek to solidify Center-Union's hold on the right in the Republic in stark contrast to long-time incumbent Theodora Hawk.

Dormill-9
Polling in Dormill's Ninth continues to reflect the more centrist leanings of the Dormill Central Valley with the Republicans and Democrats favored in the competition for Altagene's seat in Congress. With most of the differences between the two parties being the separation of Federalist and Democratic ideals, this may be the bellwether analysts have been seeking to predict the course of the 2025 Presidential race.

Lieurneux-4
Unlike other seats held by the Liberal Unity Coalition, almost all of Lieurneux's seats were considered closed to competition during the primary season, leaving the biggest Liberal Party stronghold intact. However, with increasing pressure from the populist Center-Union in this rural seat, a surprise Labor write-in campaign behind local union advocate and social media influencer Carole Underwood has brought national attention to what otherwise would have been a slow campaign. Current polling shows Ms. Underwood far behind incumbent Dominic Nowell but her online campaigning has brought in millions in small donations, showing an underscored strength that might manifest in the ballots.

Arvan-9
Incumbent Energy Minister Felica Van Alst faces a stiff challenge from the Democrats over her latest energy policy moves, or rather the lack thereof according to campaigning, accusing her of cozying up to the Fossil Fuel and Nuclear lobbies instead of pushing the United Republics' energy policy into renewables. For the first time since the 2000's, the Greens have fielded a candidate during the primaries and into the general election to challenge for a seat, though polling still favors the Democratic challenger Kaiden Michaelson.

Perot-2
In another challenge against a Minister, Center-Union polls strongly in Virjwerd against Gwendoline Pennders not by striking at her record in the Davidson Government, but rather amplifying the populist push towards Balnik and Lesva which they claim have attempted to infiltrate the United Republics via the southern borders. Although incumbent ministers usually boast key advantages at the polls (such as Van Alst in Arvan), the recent surge in populist representation in the south may mark an important turning point not only in the domestic political front, but also in Doraltic foreign policy.

Cour Rouge-A1
As always, the dynamics of the entire nation come to the fore in Cour Rouge as every party has fielded candidates throughout this cycle to win over the city's vital eight seats. With Reform holding the plurality with the help of football legend-turned activist Tribune Hadyn Clarkson, polls indicate that out of anywhere in the country to build a wider majority, Cour Rouge is the most likely to shift in favor of Forwards and the Dyson administration.

Sultan Hikmet Fatih to Visit the International District in the Near Future

This morning during the press conference, a spokesperson of the sultan said that the sultan will depart on a jet plane to the Western Isle's international district. His visit will hopefully build better relations with other nations across The Western Isle. Although the spokesperson did not mention any date of departure, it is expected from the usual procedure that Sultan Hikmet Fatih will be on the jet plane in a few days. One interesting note that the spokesperson said is that the sultan will bring no more than ten people with him, comprised of his personal staff, security guards, a translator, and a guide. It is judged that there will be no danger during his visit to the international district.

We have reached out to political analyst from the University of Tüccar şehir, Dr. Ahmad Saifullah, regarding the importance of Sultan Hikmet Fatih's visit. He responded by saying:
This visit is not something that the sultan himself should do, we already have a designated ambassadorial team to handle any diplomatic relations that do not require immediate handling by the sultan. If Sultan Hikmet Fatih himself insisted, then we should at least send a request to another nation's leader to meet in the international district and discuss things of grave importance.

A commenter from the streets of Gelişmiş Başkent made a response to the sultan's visit, the commenter said:
This is great news! We desperately need to ramp up our relations with other nations. Bring the trade flow higher! Negotiate the other nation's export tariff! Maybe if that can happen, we will get a bonus from our boss.

Further inquiries with the spokesperson or any officials did not conclude in further information. It seems that this visit is still in the planning stage, it is also likely that the lack of further information is to deter any possible threat to Sultan Hikmet Fatih's during his visit. Nevertheless, whether Sultan Hikmet Fatih will make the visit or not, there are hopes among the citizens of Verska for increased relations with other countries. Perhaps, in the not-so-distant future, we shall have ships full of containers going in and out of the port in the province of Takalr, this will be beneficial for our nation. However, dear readers, do not turn your hopes into facts yet, we have to see how this develops in the future. Will Sultan Hikmet Fatih's visit to the International District of The Western Isle mean better trade deals, or will it be perhaps an international treaty?

With the merger of LRF and LLA, three separate Lesvan paramilitary and militia groups remain against the Lesvan Throngist regime

As the united Lesvan government-in-exile was recently formed through the merger of previously separate political bodies, and as the previously separate Lesvan Resistance Forces (LRF) and the Lesvan Liberation Army (LLA) have likewise merged into the Lesvan National Army (LNA), there are now officially three separate Lesvan paramilitary and militia groups remaining that were created to fight the Throngist regime in Lesva, although, not at the expense of militant numbers, seeing to how two groups have simply become one now. Former LRF and LLA fighters, who trained together under separate flags in the past, now train under one as the fighters of a single LNA. Apart from LNA, two other Lesvan paramilitary and militia groups remain, although it currently seems like there are no plans for them to integrate with each other or with LNA. At least the Lesvan Volunteer Regiment (LVR), a military force created by the Lesvan multinational diaspora, definetely is not looking to even join hands, not to mention integrate with LNA despite a common enemy.

The brief overview of each militia group separately is as follows, following the merger of LRF and LLA into a larger LNA:

Lesvan National Army (LNA):

A merger of the Lesvan Resistance Forces (LRF), which was an armed wing of the Government of the Lesvan Presidential Republic in exile (GLPRIE) prior to the incorporation of the Council of the President of the Republic of Lesva in exile (CPRLIE), and the Lesvan Liberation Army (LLA), an armed wing of the Council of the President of the Republic of Lesva in exile (CPRLIE) prior to incorporation into the Government of the Lesvan Presidential Republic in exile (GLPRIE) to create a united government-in-exile. Now, LNA functions as a united armed wing of the united government-in-exile and positions itself as the legitimate Armed Forces of the Republic of Lesva and the Lesvan State, instead of the Lesvan Throngist Armed Forces of Throngist Lesva.

Lesvan Volunteer Regiment (LVR):

A militia group not associated with any political body, government or organization. LVR consists of the Lesvan diaspora spread out across a number of countries, with the largest community settled in the United Electorates of Ainslie. The diaspora left Lesva during periods of tyrannical rule in Lesva and continues to flee the country during the current totalitarian rule of the Throngist Movement Party of Lesva (TMPL). The diaspora and therefore LVR are against the current totalitarian rule of the Throngist regime in Lesva, but also against the former autocratic regime that got overthrown and replaced by the Throngists, therefore, it is not likely that LVR would cooperate with the Lesvan National Army (LNA), the armed wing of the united Government of the Lesvan Presidential Republic in exile (GLPRIE), since GLPRIE was founded and consists of officials of the aforementioned authoritarian government led by ousted President Puicu Gevin and overall by the isolationist and nationalist Union of Libertarians and Nationalists (ULN) party. The LVR militia was founded by Lesvan volunteers in Romancia, who came out of the Lesvan diaspora, and who were veterans of the Romancian War in which the volunteers aided the separatist forces of the break-away region of Romancia that fought for independence from Baumes. The founders of LVR aim to incorporate their actual combat experience from the battlefields of the Romancia-Baumes frontline into LVR to use it against the Throngist regime in the future.

Free Lesvan Army (FLA):

Also called the Armed Forces of Free Lesva, the most recently discovered militia group that was actually first mentioned officially in the news media of the United Commonwealths of Great Altera. FLA may or may not be associated with the united Government of the Lesvan Presidential Republic in exile (GLPRIE) and its' armed wing Lesvan National Army (LNA). FLA is a militia group officially trained by the military of Great Altera, making it the only one of the militia groups that is officially sponsored by a foreign power, despite there being subtle information about aid from Costavozka and Kaskalma to LNA. In comparison to LVR (Lesvan Volunteer Regiment) and its' experience from the Romancia-Baumes battlefield, FLA would most likely acquire the capability and standards of the military of Great Altera, which would make FLA and LVR both capable forces with important military experience and standards, although it is unclear how many military professionals are in the ranks of LNA for the sake of comparison.

Despite differences, all these armed groups declare the Throngist regime in Lesva their enemy and declare the sole purpose for which they were created, to be the overthrow of the Throngist regime in Lesva by military force, because peaceful and nonviolent civil resistance within, along with violent riots internally, have not worked previously.

The Council of Ministers of the Throngist Republic of Lesva discussed national security threats today and a large portion of it was dedicated to the militant terrorist groups created by Lesvan traitors and some of them allegiant to the political bodies set up by the officials of the former tyrannical regime ousted in the Saela Spring and the Throngist Revolution. These groups have once again become part of accurate conversation, after it was recently announced that two of them - the Lesvan Resistance Forces (LRF) and the Lesvan Liberation Army (LLA) would be merging into a larger single terrorist group - the Lesvan National Army (LNA). LRF and LLA were previously the armed wings of two separate terrorist entities set up by the ousted regime, which have likewise announced their merger to create a larger united terrorist body, thus they deemed it logical to merge their terrorist paramilitaries as well.

Head of Government, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Throngist Republic of Lesva, the Honorable Relac Calaidi, asked Minister of Justice of the Throngist Republic of Lesva, the Honorable Drac Peratar, to speak. Minister of Justice of the Throngist Republic of Lesva Drac Peratar stated that despite LRF and LLA merging into LNA, it does not change anything in the eyes of the Lesvan Throngist Republic from the legal point of view. LNA has inherited the status of LRF and LLA in the eyes of the Lesvan Throngist Republic of Lesva, which was that of two terrorist organizations. Now, there are no longer two separate terrorist organizations, but rather a single larger terrorist organization, which is LNA. As for the other two groups - the Lesvan Volunteer Regiment (LVR) and the Free Lesvan Army (FLA), they hold the same status of terrorist organizations. But the official reduction of active terrorist organizations threatening the Lesvan Throngist Republic, from four groups to three, does not lower the threat level because the number of groups has not been reduced by the disbandment of one group but by a merger of two groups into one. The number of terrorists and their capability remains the same, although, it is unclear whether the size and power of LNA in particular would stay the same as that of the previously separate LRF and LLA, or whether LNA would amplify its' strength from this growth.

Minister of the Lesvan Throngist Armed Forces, the Honorable Colonel Velar Shrieva, was next to speak and presented information acquired from the Main Intelligence and Security Service of the Throngist Republic of Lesva about State Sponsors of Terrorism Costavozka and Great Altera being among countries with the most active role in sponsoring some of these terrorist organizations. Great Altera openly talks about sponsoring FLA and even playing a role in the terrorist group's creation, while Costavozka has not been as vocal, but has taken part in sponsoring the formerly separate LRF and LLA, and is now believed to be doing the same for LNA. LVR operates independently, which reduces their military resources in comparison to LNA and FLA, but their combat experience in the Romancian conflict in Baumes, makes the group no less dangerous because of its' determination.

Head of State and Party, First Secretary of the Throngist Movement Party of Lesva, the Honorable Cebra Tolar, called on Everyone in the Throngist Republic of Lesva to stay happy because the State and Party is fully ready for all threats and will protect the Country and the People appropriately, thus, life goes on.
