Now came the time that the Lord Protector John Smith had been despising for a long time. It was the time for his authority to be questioned, and possibly overturned. He was accompanied by his cabinet and key intelligence and military leaders through the doors and into the grandiose House of Parliament. Hundreds of representatives had already taken their seat and waited for the Lord Protector. As he turned his head, he sighted the one man he feared most, the Speaker of the Houses of Parliament. Unbearable suspense built up as he banged his gavel and started speaking.

Ladies and gentlemen of our Parliament, today is the day that our nation changes and adapts to the future of our world. We must ask the question, can one man lead a nation of millions. Times have changed, and so have we. Our nation no longer requires a Lord Protector, it now needs a strong republic to lead it into new opportunities. This is why we no longer require an archaic form of government. This is not a dispute between political parties, it is a matter of national significance. This is why today is the day that we vote on the question of, ‘Do we need a Lord Protector?”.

With these powerful words, the voting started, taking hours. The results were read out, and they were largely in favour of a republic.

Now that the representatives of the people have made their decision, the Supreme Court of Greater Sirne will rule on this issue and will give their minds on the matter as soon as possible.

I now pronounce this session of the Parliament of the Commonwealth of Greater Sirne adjourned. The representatives may leave as they wish.

The room started emptying and celebrations filled every street around the nation. At night, fireworks lit up the sky. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court worked to deliver a message by tomorrow at noon.

On National TV, the Lord Protector announced his abdication at midnight.

The following is an announcement from the Provisional Republic of Greater Sirne:

At midnight yesterday, Lord Protector John Smith announced his abdication from the title of Lord Protector, at the same time, the Supreme Court authorised the formation of a new state, The Provisional Republic of Greater Sirne and announced the dissolution of the Commonwealth. Effective immediately, the Parliament will lead Greater Sirne through the transition process until general elections take place. Now, the Court has announced that all sessions of Regional Senates have been adjourned sine die, meaning that no date has been given for them to reconvene. All Regional Senates have been dissolved. Now, all major cities and counties will be taking part in a referendum to decide whether they want an election for a new mayor, and letters are being sent out as we speak. All public services, the military, and the judiciary will continue as normal, except for small changes to re-name them. The legislative and executive branches of the government however, have paused their respective duties for the transitioning process. Dates for the General Election will be announced as soon as possible.

The JURN has announced that they are conducting a freedom of navigation operations at the Atlantic Ocean to monitor and forward the Janpian-KTO interests in the area. This is in spite of the Redwood exercises currently happening in the area.

MUNSCHEN HARBOR - A spokesperson from the Janpian Union of Revolutionary Navy (JURN) has confirmed that they have deployed 6x Marinosch-Class Guided Missile Destroyers, 2x Karasuvosch-Class LHD, and an unknown number of Magochyo-Class submarines over the Atlantic Ocean, to monitor the recent exercises performed by the Armed Forces of Redwood. According to the Revolutionary Council, this small demonstration of force is deployed in order to secure peace and pursue Janpian or KTO interests, along with exercising their freedom of navigation and to monitor any activities over the North Atlantic Ocean. Earlier this morning, our sources in Syrvania reported that a single squadron of Hisshin Aircrafts has taken off from a Syrvanian Airbase, and there were reports yesterday that the Sichanashi Fleet - 8th Naval Detachment Formation held a send-off ceremony to undertake in the FONOPS operation.

Coming in reports from the Atlantic, helicopters from the Karasuvosch-Class LHD were seen deploying portable SOSUS over the area, while the destroyers were also spotted sailing abreast or maneuvering towards the front course of Redwoodian ships. Our correspondents have also witnessed a 'V' formation of Hisshin Aircraft conducting a direct fly-by over the fleets, with some of the aircraft trying to fly really close to their Redwoodian counterparts. Small drones were also launched from the warship's mission bay towards the supposed Redwoodian exercise area, to further monitor the situation and to gain information in the area. However, the Magochyo-Class submarines were nowhere to be seen, and it is yet to be seen if they are gonna make their own appearance.

According to an Armament Officer of the JRS Saritaschin (JRS South Current), these maneuvers were all in compliance of the freedom of navigations, and have stated that they are merely monitoring the situation and watching the area to secure it from any international piracy. But regardless, he stated that the Navy is prepared for all kinds of situations, whatever challenge be it on land, sea, air, space, and electronics domain.

Typhoon Alusia has recently entered the Janpian Area of Responsibility as a Class 1 Storm, with wind speeds reaching up to 82kmph and with the ocean being in sea state level 5. Some ferry and air routes were cancelled for a while due to the storm, and a no-sail zone has been imposed over the South Janpian Sea sector

MINACHI CITY - The Janpian Atmospheric and Meteorological Research Union (JAMRU) has raised the low pressure area to Storm Classification No. 1, naming the typhoon as Alusia based on the Janpian storm naming convention. According to a press briefing, the typhoon is currently being monitored on its approach inside the Janpian Area of Responsibility, and it is expected to make a landfall at Perevska City by tomorrow. In their forecast, the typhoon would go further inland on a northwest direction, predicting that the storm would be greatly subdued by the Katyechinci Mountain Range and creating a slight rain over Kalingrad, Darlinburg, Belengrad, and potentially, Katyascha.

So far, the storm winds have a recorded average of 82 kmph taken by a JAMRU storm chaser, while the sea state were designated as level 5, which would be dangerous for small or medium sized vessels of up to 4,000T of displacement. The JAMRU has noted that the wind speeds are expected to grow in the next 4 to 12 hours, estimating that it would reach 108 kmph by the time it makes its landfall

In response to the recent classification, the Janpian Maritime Guards have also set a no-sail zone over the coastal areas and the South Janpian Sea sector, while the Public Marshals have begun creating specialized evacuation buses and train routes for the affected residents. The authorities have also cancelled all air and ferry routes within the area, and has warned all the citizens living by the affected coasts to evacuate in order to avoid any potential storm surge. The Katyechinci Nuclear Power Plant has also prepared their early alert systems, and has their backup power systems secured for the storm.

In relation to this, the Public Marshals have ordered to bring valuable documents and identification cards for the evacuation, and to bring along their pets during the process. They have also advised to bring in an extra canned food or water, battery, a flashlight, and a first-aid kit, in order to be prepared from any danger. The advisory has also stated that they will perform a forced evacuation in the affected coasts in the next 8 to 12 hours.

Quite literally her perfect theme

A girl with a short blonde hair sat on a chair with her legs folded in both ways, her elbow resting at the arm rests, her hands joined together in the middle, and her fingers tapping with each other. The badge of the party flickers along at her chest, all while wearing an unbuttoned black suit, a long white sleeve, and a red tie to top it off. One could mistake her as a young boy due to her tomboy-ish hair and outfit, but regardless, she simply remained still, her entire body focused, all while putting up an innocent yet sinister smile on her face.

Towards her front, a simple glass separated her from a large room filled with rows of computers, along with multiple gigantic screens at the front wall. People in suits were clearly working around the clock, being emotionless, albeit in a low-light condition, all with either a paper or a phone in their hands. Small hints of light penetrated inside the room, blocking out any unauthorized films taken by small, concealable cameras, taking advantage of their low resolutions. CCTV footages taken from the Revolutionary outposts were played repeatedly on the front screens, with documents being highlighted, past pictures automatically dug up from the archives, and the suspect's face being searched to identify him... but to no avail.

The girl began to grow restless as she watched the people continue to search for clues below. Her boredom began to take toll, as documents after documents, archives per archive— even with the AI sorting through a thousand pages per second, everything seems to be going on a dead track. As if the man simply doesn't exist in this world.. That alone is enough to prove that he is a foreign intelligence agent, but the question remains on which origin he came from.

Yet what's more mysterious about this man is the things that he has brought to the table. His ominous words simply cannot be ignored, mainly due to how it sounds like a threat to the existence of the Revolution itself. The JURIC was also particularly alarmed by the surviving documents, which unveiled undisclosed percentages pertaining some KTO international leaders with an unknown outcome. The documents were clearly a good indication that they are on a race with time to find out what is the outcomes of the extremes, yet they won’t be able to, if they don't act and gather intelligence now.

But so far, no one clearly knows what does the percentage means. Cold air plummets over the girl's shoulders as she grasps on to the entire situation. Yet despite what seems like a dead end, she still has everything under her control. After all, that girl is Don Schikoute...

An energetic, somewhat childish member of the Party Central, who is holding an elected position as the Commissariat Director of the Janpian Union of Revolutionary Intelligence Center, or JURIC Commissar for short. Loud, hyper, abrash; these are the words that describes her perfectly as a Commissar of JURIC, an organization responsible for the Revolution’s state security intelligence matters, and anything that correlates to her interests under the cape of secrecy. It operates on an unknown extent and uncontrolled influence, with their limitations and mandates being undefined by the Union of Party Members Committee itself. By the paper, JURIC seems to have much more authority than the People's Marshal position, due to how undefined and unchecked their actions are.

Yet despite the grim background, Don Schikoute, a smiling, energetic person, perhaps having a chunibyo's medieval knight personality, and dare say naive with a strong pursuit for justice, seems to be the captain of the organization's helm. A total far cry from her attitudes compared to her line of work, let alone leading it. One simply could not suspect that a diplomat-dressed tomboy with eight-grader syndrome is the leading Commissar of the JURIC. Nevertheless, she's there for a reason...

Commissar Don Schikoute: "You-! young fellow! Might I be granted the autopsy report?"

She shouted in the presence of her "diplomats", stretching her arms out in the air before being approached by one of them. As accustomed in Janpian culture, the diplomat takes a deep bow as a sign of respect and authority, and finally speaks in a formal tone.

???: "I'm sorry Commissar. But the Coroner Office are yet to provide the reason of death, let alone provide information of his sustained wounds, the striking angles, plausible suspect information, and among other details."

Commissar Don Schikoute: "HA?! Verily, thou hast been of little aid!"

She takes a slight grin before standing up, twirling and prancing like a princess on her way to a nearby console. Upon reaching it, she quickly skimmed over the pictures, scanning over the images taken by the Revolutionaries' body cameras, and carefully examining the blurry pictures of the man's wounds. She also looked at any possible CCTV footage gathered on a small laptop, trying to trace the man's footsteps back to his point of origin, along with the car travel history.

Commissar Don Schikoute: "Money aloft in cobbled directions, a car blast for distraction; Tis the labor of a cunning hand! A grand evidence that a foothold hath taken firm grasp!"

She said it proudly at the top of her lungs, though her conclusion was pretty much obvious to some of the JURIC "Diplomats" who were accompanying her. One of them speaks up, keeping his formality but in a whispering tone.

???: "Our operators have already acknowledged that Comrade Commiss-"

Before he could finish, the Commissar's voice suddenly cut through, shouting over him in what she interpreted as a rude comment to her superiority.

Commissar Don Schikoute: "Verily verily! I comprehend your sentiments you emotionless cunts!"

She crossed her arms and looks away out of frustration, with the rest of the "diplomats" being silent or simply looking away from her in embarrassment. But nonetheless, the Commissar still helds herself high in regards, looking down at the operators working below.

Commissar Don Schikoute: "Now that it is known, perchance we may ponder a method to uproot these troubles?"

A short stream of silence flows into the room, with some of the Diplomats holding themselves as the Commissar gives a huge grin. She gleams over a copy of the retrieved documents at the far end of the room and continues

Commissar Don Schikoute: "Thou, it doth appear that they're targetting the esteemed People's Marshal and perchance some leaders of the KTO as well! But as always, the interests of the Revolution goes first! It seems prudent to turn our gaze homeward and fix our attention upon the matters within our very island first aye?"

She then looks back and pointed to one of the "Diplomats"

Commissar Don Schikoute: "Assign Room 6 to a new noble Operation-! We'd christen it Operation Ballerina!"

She lowered her hands and into her waist, and continues

Commissar Don Schikoute: "What is Operation Ballerina hath you asked?! Well! It is to set a stratagem of misinformation concerning the security details of the People's Marshal, perchance divulging information about her whereabouts and undertakings. Maybe her meetings as well! Tis would make them gain fake information and potentially lead them to their demise! Verily, it is quite simple to take on this knowledge aye!?"

She loudly said but continues on her own thoughts

"Alas, we are prohibited from enacting a purge against those nearby her... A simple, effective, very fast counter-intelligence method! But not yet!"

With no objections from the Diplomats, Commissar Don takes a wistful hum as she returns back to her seat, once again crossing her legs together, resting her shoulders at the arm rests, and joining her fingers together at the center, with the Commissar still on a grin.

Commissar Don Schikoute: "While we launch a disinformation campaign surrounding the People's Marshal, perhaps we should start investigating the Kalinka Guards Unit, take live camera footages, and investigate nearby hotel units. Look for any suspicious tourist or foreigners with recording machines, and look out for anyone who is constantly being near the Fort Kalinka. It is a folly to presume that such individuals shall find respite and information unchallenged! Let Operation Ballerina commence forthwith!"

SKR-7 Assault Rifles: A Legacy

Designed and manufactured by the Stork Armaments Union, the SKR-7 Rifles and all its iterations has stood as a testament of the Revolutionary Forces throughout the decades, before being retired for a new standard issue rifle. But during its service, it oversaw the Party's growth from instability to its rise, with its design philosophies becoming a legacy of the Revolution.

Sturdy, Reliable, and Ergonomic – these are the words that perfectly describes the SKR-7 Assault Rifle, a Janpian variation of the infamous Kalashnikov series of rifles. Also known as the Stork Kalashnikov Rifle-7.62, this automatic rifle fires a 7.62x39mm round similarly to the AK-47s, being accurate and deadly for up to 350 meters with enough stopping power, thanks to the ammunition's energy and superior velocity. The rifle's development began in the early years of the 5th era, with the intent of replacing the standard issue rifles of the Revolutionaries from SM92-R straight-pull rifles, to a fully automatic rifle that also has a semi-automatic option. At that time, the effects of the civil war was still fresh and the following years was unstable for the newly established Party. The need to replace the SM92-R was seen necessary as a way to modernize the Revolutionaries and to take advantage of the new intermediate cartridge designs. During this period, the SM92-R has also passed its zenith as a standard-issued rifle design, and there was a need for a cheap and reliable automatic rifle that could be mass-produced; one that is easy for the users to operate, clean, and maintain. Furthermore, the Revolutionary Council at that time was also seeking to evolve their squad doctrines by trying to lessen the burden of machine gunners and equalize the rapid fire duties to the rest of the squad. This doctrinal change was based on their lessons from the recent civil war, where it was reported that around 70% of combat engagements occured at around 300 meters, making it necessary for the rifleman to have a high rate of fire, rather than just providing cover for the machinegunners who mainly deals the damage.

The Revolutionary Council and its branches at that time were utilizing 7.92x57mm rounds, and during the design stages, they were presented with two intermediate cartridges: the .223 Remington, and the 7.62x39mm. Both of which are perfect at balancing recoil and firepower, and the two of them have passed the minimum standard range requirement. In the end, the 7.62x39mm was chosen over the .223 ammunition, mainly due to it's high-powered performance and strong stopping power in the Revolutionry Council's required range.

Taking inspiration from the Kalashnikov Rifle, the workers of Stork Armaments Union drafted a similar short stroke gas piston design from the VZ. 58 rifle, slightly altering the rod to fit in the gas tube length, along with utilizing a modified AK-47 receiver and selector mechanism. The same goes for the magazine release, taking the signature AK lever to lock the 7.62x39mm banana magazine in place, making the rifle capable to utilize all Kalashnikov style magazines. Due to the Revolutionary Council's recent ambidextrous design philosophies, a top case extractor was also used for the rifle, allowing it to remove the spent casing upwards, giving comfort or assurance to both left and right handed users. Furthermore, the charging handle and the selector were also made available for both sides, allowing the users to operate and achieve similar performance in terms of shooting, aiming, or reloading, making it ergonomic and reliable for all kinds of users. All the specifications makes the rifle capable of firing and cycling up to 800 rounds per minute, with an effective range of 300 to 1,000 thanks to its sight adjustment. At a loaded weight of 3.7 kilograms, this rifle is nearly similar, albeit slightly better than the SM92-R straight-pull rifle, which has a weight of 3.7 to 4.1 kilograms.

In total, there are 4 variations of the SKR-7 Assault Rifle developed in the past decades before being retired or put on reserves:

SKR-7 Assault Rifle: The original standard design, this variant features a Janpian laminated wooden maple furniture for the handguard, stock, and handgrips, making it cheap, easy to produce, and easier to maintain as intended. The original design uses a milled bolt and receiver, but was exchanged for a stamped one to lessen the weight and to ease the production.

SKR-7 Model 1 (SKR-7M1): The SKR-7M1 is a slightly modified iteration of the SKR-7 Assault Rifle, which uses an updated stock pin modification instead of the original fixed wooden stock. This enables the users to swap the stock of the rifle and make it available to be removed or modified, giving way for foldable or extendable stocks and making it flexible and modifiable for the users.

SKR-7 Model 2 (SKR-7M2): The SKR-7M2 is a "modified" variant of the SKR-7 rifle, albeit utilizing a full polymer furniture by replacing the stamped metal parts and wooden laminate in order to simplify and modernize the production. As a result, this lowers the weight of the rifle, making it weigh around 3.1 kilograms instead of the original 3.7 kg. The polymer furniture also extends the service life of the rifle if given with proper maintenance, rather than using cosmoline coating for the wood, and other preventive maintenance for the metal.

SKR-7 Model 2A (SKR-7M2A): The most latest SKR-7 variation, the Model 2A variant is based from the Model 2, although with new features such as a fixed gas tube to allow the placements of picatinny rails, new muzzle designs to efficiently dispel excess gases, new placements for the sights, and picatinny rails on the handguard and the sides to allow a wide variety of attachments.

[HEADLINES] Over 1,500+ Hospitalizations Of Radiation Poisoning, Emperor Declares National Emergency

The radiation poisonings that begun out of Crestle have now expanded to over 6 cities, causing over 1,500 hospitalizations and over 750 deaths in less than a month's time. The incident has gotten large enough for the Emperor to decree a national emergency for the entire Empire, using the provisions of the Public Order Act, with this being the first activation of such an order. The order, known as Order #5, establishes a "public health emergency" and empowers the Minister of Health "to promulgate and enforce regulations and orders in relation to the public health emergency". Meanwhile, the MOSA's Information Collective Service has announced a collaboration with the Ministry of Health & Wellness to launch a government portal to track the spread and number of poisonings across the Empire. That portal is expected to launch by the end of the month in "public beta".

The Ministry of Defense is said to be considering the establishment of medical corps within various branches of the forces, according to insiders. OBC asked epidemiologist Mark Rolon what this national emergency could mean in terms of the response by the health ministry: "We've never in our history had any sort of pandemic or even so much as an epidemic or outbreak. So, I think it'd be really hard to gauge what the ministry would do, given that they've never had to help our nation through an outbreak prior to this. They may mandate testing of some kind, prohibit living in some areas, or force all hospitals to become free. Right now, is not a time of overreach, but of attack and defense."

Absolute Court of Satan Split 3-3 on Purity Act, Upheld

Today, the Absolute Court of Satan officially announced its ruling in the 2nd case to be decided by the court, Makko Oko v. SAGPI, over the legality and constitutionality of the recently enacted Purity Act, which according to the government, "attempted to subvert national law on marriage and homosexuality rights". The court, in an evenly-split 3-3 ruling, announced in a joint all-court opinion that "This legal text is much too divisive for a court of religious matter, and such recommend an appeal to the Supreme Court if deemed necessary by either party". The ruling stems from hard-liners that believe that homosexuality violates Satan's way and condemn the CUA, and more moderate-leaning judges that believe homosexuality would be "appreciated by Satan" and that Satan accepts all.

The moderates of the court also believe that national government should work in unison with the lower-level governments and denounce any form of autonomous influence or power. Hard-liners believe that the national government is supreme and that "all laws should be followed, as Satan would". Some atheists and non-Satanists say the hard-liners are hypocrites as "Satan wouldn't follow any law, but the world needs law to prevent a common hell" said one who wished to remain anonymous.

The hard-liners include Chief Justice Richard Garst, Justice Michael Schreiner and Justice Joseph Strack. Meanwhile, the moderates are Justice Marco Gaukrogers, Justice Kathleen Marrufo and Justice Gregory Roth. Chief Justice Garst has a known record for speaking out against the currently-suspended and controversial Chief Marcella Debose, at one point calling for the Emperor to terminate her. The Emperor at the time never responded to the calls for termination or investigation. The opinion of the hard-liners was: "This law is a blatant and flagrant violation of multiple articles of our Basic Rights, and was done so maliciously. The Equal Protection Clause, National Sovereignty Clause and the State Religion Establishment Clause were all violated. This law may not be restored in any form, other than one to advance existing national law."

Meanwhile the moderates opinion was: "Homosexuality was never officially declared 'open' to the religion, and therefore fail to find any fault or conflict in the State Religion Establishment Clause. In addition, the Equal Protection Clause does not protect marriage equality or couples rights therefore. The only violation that can be found is within the National Sovereignty Clause for violating national law. A rewrite would remove that violation and let it become legal." This means that the law is still in effect and may stay unless a higher court strikes it down.

The MOJ's Office of Legal Review has stated their intent to appeal the ruling to the Supreme Court, which has been out of commission since the Chief Justice's kidnapping. The MOJ's Justice Enforcement Service has announced an investigation into the ruling.

SOA Vetoed By Emperor Solis: "No abuse!"

A law by the 2nd Session of the Emperor's Law Council got vetoed today by Emperor Solis and prohibited from becoming law. The law, named the State Office Act, aimed to grant authority to state departments, agencies and their respective heads that was "virtually similar to my own" said the Emperor in a press briefing after the veto. The law aimed to resolve a common issue of a lack of authority and/or "official" authority to conduct business, especially when new circumstances, like the current outbreak, arise and need immediate attention. It would've instituted a system where offices would naturally have any authority "that was duly necessary to conduct functions of the position" and that anything not necessary could be revoked by the Emperor or the Privy Council.

The Emperor told OBC that "the SOA will never become law as long as I'm alive. It could be amended and potentially resolved to be enacted, however I do express doubts on that.". Minister of Justice Sara Mauer, councilmember and President, had no comment on the matter.

[HEADLINES] Church Declares Homosexuality Embraced

Today the Church of Makko Oko officially declared that the religion "embraced homosexuality" and they "welcome any individual with homo-relations into the Church wholeheartedly". This declaration comes a week after the nation's highest court of religion upheld the highly contentious Purity Act on a neutral ruling, paving the way for the potential strikedown of the law by the Supreme Court. In a statement released by Supreme Leader Richard Garst, he said "The Church has always unofficially supported homosexuality, including by the way of the CUA, however, our Emperor has felt the need to officially announce our support for said relationships due to recent internal events".

The Emperor has not responded to requests for comment on the matter.

ACA Enacted, Purity Act Invalidated

Today in a shocking move, Emperor Solis has announced the enactment of the ACA, or the Administrative Control Act, granting the executive the authority to oversee and manage any affair that "would infringe upon the Constitution directly, would be a potential danger to the sovereignty or survival of the Empire, or that is deemed a threat via declaration". The law is seen as a major step backwards, allowing the executive to essentially overstep and remove the judiciary from anything they don't like.

The law isn't all black and white however, including many restrictions on when it can be invoked. One such restriction is that a law may only be invalidated "after a good-faith attempt by the government was exercised through the courts to attempt to overturn it", meaning that the courts MUST be tried before the law can be invoked, however, constitutional policy experts say that overruling a courts decision through the law "is bound to anger the judges and staff of the judiciary branch". OBC reached out to the Ministry of Justice for comment on the new law and a spokesperson responded saying "The MOJ is currently reviewing the implications and requirements of the ACA. We don't have any further information to share at this time."

Another restriction of the law is that it can only interfere in non-legal operations of an administrative government when "requested by the head of government, necessary to enforce a court order, necessary in times of emergency or whenever the government lacks a head". All restrictions become suspended in the event of a national emergency or martial law declaration, such as the one we're under right now. Government insiders have reported the possibility of revising the Public Order Act to allow operation of the Supreme Court during a national emergency, however, nothing has been confirmed.

In related news, the MOJ's OLR has announced the invalidation of SAGPI's Purity Act under the emergency provisions of the ACA, marking a swift and quick end to the contentious law.

Chief Debose Terminated, Accused Of Poisonings

Today, the Ministry of Justice's Office of Special Investigations announced the indictment of SAGPI Chief Marcella Debose and her subsequent termination from office. Marcella has been charged with 1 count of treason, 1 count of conspiracy to attack the government and 2 counts of corruption. The MOJ has stated that they are NOT seeking the death penalty, which a charge of treason allows for. The government refused questions on why it was off the table. The press release stated that the charge of conspiracy was due to "evidence of involvement in the criminal act of the poisoning outbreak".

The Minister of Justice Sara Mauer responded to a request for comment on the indictment stating "Justice will soon finally be served. More charges may be forthcoming depending on how the investigation develops.". The Emperor and Supreme Leader had no comment on the matter. Elections for a new Chief per the SAGPI Constitution are "currently in the works and announcements will be made soon on how to submit your name for candidacy" according to the Ministry of State Affairs.

Today the Ministry of Justice's Office of Special Investigations, the same office who recently indicted SAGPI Chief Marcella Debose, has announced indictments on the government's Minister of Development Delores Colley on 1 count of defrauding the government, 1 count of illegally operating or starting a company and 1 count of wasting government resources. The Special Case Agent, Evelyn Davis, told OBC at a press briefing that the charges regarded the recent probe launched into the ministry over their handling of the internet construction project.

After the announcement of the indictment, Minister of Justice Sara Mauer announced the creation of a permanent commission of the Emperor's Law Council dedicated to the activities of administrative governments, named the Commission on Administrative Activities. No chair was immediately named.

SAGPI Internet Bid Probe: Ministry Failed To Publish News Of Decision

Many months ago, the Phoenix Islands had announced a bid to build internet services to support the entire islands. A foreign company, Bliksem Internet, out of The Controlist Ferwerter Union had posted a bid that launched an internal ISOC probe. For months, the company and the Law Council have been at fierce discussions over why the bid should be allowed, and very recently, Bliksem won their fight and the bid was approved, until chaos hit. The posted page on the Ministry of Development's website at development.phoenix.gov.mk was unreachable, and calls to the office turned up an interesting development. Apparently, the bid had been closed for months, but no announcement of that was ever made.

OBC reached out to the Ministry of Development about this and a spokesperson stated "The government isn't perfect. We all make mistakes. The most relevant parties, however, should've informed everybody else." According to ISOC Director Jose Cortese, they have no record of any filing in relation to the project bid on the Islands, which, they say, has now sparked a corruption probe into the ministry's activities.

With the project's funds seemingly doled out, Bliksem could choose to fund their own international expansion, which the ISOC says it would approve.

It was a dark and cloudy morning over the eastern skies of Janpia. Mist filled the air, blanketing the vast, dewy fields of Malingrad's outskirts. Light barely penetrated through the thick clouds over the dawning red skies, as the atmosphere froze the fields into a windless silence. Along the treelines, the branches remained in a stately manner, with the leaves swaying minimally with no rustles. Chrysanthemum flowers were particularly beautiful in the early months of autumn. Their purple petals dominated the greyish morning hue, with their colors blooming as a final fanfare of Janpian summer.

Yet the silence was short-lived as a jet-like noise came to life across the field; revving loudly like a lion about to attack, before normalizing into a low leveled hum. A group of birds fluttered away from the disruption, scattering over the rolling hills and disappearing into the horizon. Just beyond it, a loud reveille played from a towering pole with a megaphone on top, with its music echoing over a tank staging area complete with rows of garage warehouses and ladder supports. The Janpian flag proudly stood at the center, with its cloth sheathed and furled over the windless morning.

A sergeant marshal donning a Janpian tankist helmet and suit walked along the muddy ground and faced one of the opened tank warehouses. With a whistle in his mouth, he blew it out loud and waved his orange marshaling wands in unison. Murshiya Kauwascht, a commander of Tank 224, stood on top of the turret, silently observing the vast greenery outside the garage. The smell of oil and steel motivated him further as he looked down at his military watch to see if he was on schedule. "A momentous day," he said to himself; before entering into his JP-2 tank and locking the hatch above him. He adjusted himself in his seat and looked at the sensor screens on his front. For him, he is nothing but an ordinary Janpian tank commander for the Revolutionary Army. But on this day, his mission is rather significant for his career. He took a minor check on the Rakata BMS options before finally issuing an order.

Commander Murshiya: "Tank 224 Report!"

"Aye! Gunner ready!"
"Driver ready!"

Hearing his crew's confirmations, Murshiya looked at the Rakata BMS console and initiated the communication diagnostics program. As he awaited the results, he looked at the maintenance report handed to him earlier by the pit crew, checking if the start-up procedures were correctly followed and if there were any anomalies on the systems or internals. As he examined the results, he spoke once again in a loud authoritative voice.

Commander Murshiya: "Breech status?"

"Aye! Breech status empty! Rack status: 28x VTA3M5 APFSDS, 10x training round variants!"

Commander Murshiya: "Gunner, load APFSDS! Driver forward!"

The crew yelled aye in unison as they received their orders, and performed their given tasks. The gunner pressed the screen in front of him and selected the VTA3M5 round placement, prompting the bustle loader to open up, push a single round into the breech, and close the blast doors, all in the span of 4 seconds. The driver also turned on the battleshort mode for the engine and the suspension, before pulling the brakes down and twisting the throttle to move the tank forward. Slowly, the JP-2's dark green hull kissed the faint sunlight, as it advanced outwards from the garage and into the muddy staging grounds. Its engines loudly hummed as the 70-ton behemoth unveiled itself into the lush plains.

Commander Murshiya: "Driver left!"

"Roger!"

The driver turned his left throttle further than the right throttle, giving more power to the left track suspension and steering the tank in the commanded direction. As the tank headed itself to the open fields, the communications diagnostics was finished, and Murshiya could finally connect to their battalion-level communications. Setting up the lines, he brought down the microphone from his helmet and radioed their command

Commander Murshiya: "Command, this is Tank 224. 2nd Platoon of the 4th company. Mission relay over."

A short silence followed along the radio, before being answered by a static male voice

"----Tank 224 ------ the rendevous point is marked at your ---- BMS screens ------ Neutralize the targets in the range --- over."

Commander Murshiya: "Affirmative over."

Murshiya then switched his BMS screen to the tactical map provided by their command; zoomed it out, and checked the marked targets and the rendezvous point. After analyzing the terrain, he switched the panel to the hunter-killer system, giving him access to the commander's FLIR and gunner features. From there, he can see the world outside the tank, albeit in a black and white paste due to the 3rd gen thermals. But at the very least, he can see up to 6 kilometers thanks to the FLIR's accurate resolution returns.

A loud hum rang across the treelines and fields, as the JP-2 spearheaded into the point. The gun is steady and stabilized, as the hull rocked over the uneven ground. Though this wasn't much of a problem for the JP-2 with its automatic fixed transmission, helping it cross over terrain with ease despite its weight. Truly a marvel of engineering from the Zelenny Industrial Union, which Murshiya still can't get it off from his head.

As the tank approached the rendezvous, Murshiya spotted a small cement wall over an elevated ground from his BMS screen. The position was marked on his BMS as an objective point, which could give his tank a higher elevation over the field, and put the tank in a hull-down position.

Commander Murshiya: "Driver, send us towards that elevated point. 2:00 from hull position"

"Aye!

The driver quickly pulled the lever to set the manual transmission and turned his throttle towards the right, setting the tank towards the 140-degree incline. He shifted the lever towards the 1st gear, as the JP-2 began its climb towards the slope. The 1,600 HP turbine engine hummed loudly as it tackled the steep incline, with its power forcing the 70-ton machine to push towards the top. After overcoming the incline, the driver quickly shifted the lever back to neutral, and cut the power for the skid-steer, stopping the tank right before the half-concrete wall.

From there, Commander Murshiya could see the nearby fields, with their dark green lush faintly decorated by the purple petals of chrysanthemum. He grabbed his microphone from his helmet and radioed the battalion command.

Commander Murshiya: "Tank 224 has reached the rendezvous point. On-search for targets but on standby. Updating BMS marks"

From his digital screen, he swapped the FLIR view, selected the tactical map program, and removed the marked locations. He returned to the FLIR screen and took a quick scan over the nearby hill. As he analyzed the terrain with his commander's view, he yelled out a breech order to his gunner.

Commander Murshiya: "Breech status?"

Still looking from his gunner's sight, the gunner quickly replied

"Aye! Breech status loaded: VTA3M5 APFSDS! Rack status: 27 VTA3M5, 10 training round variants!"

Murshiya didn't respond back, but he felt eased that their tank was ready to shoot when needed. After receiving a status report, he quickly detected an Abrams tank standing by on the hill. Out of instinct, he quickly pressed the laser range finder and directed the reports toward his gunner, who was aided by the hunter-killer feature

Commander Murshiya: "Gunner, shift left 11:00! Range: 1,200 meters! Target: Abrams! Fire when ready!"

The gunner quickly shifted the videogame-like steer controller towards the left, applied the Commander's rangefinder input towards the gun elevation system from his digital screen, and aimed it with precision towards the Abrams. The wind correction automatically adjusted the gun towards the target, but for now, the follow-up lead aim program was turned off given the nature of their target.

The Abrams tank was originally a museum piece from the Kalingrad Revolutionary Conflicts Museum, which had been donated to them by the Gonswanzans during their American conquests. It was rumored to have been knocked out by a Gonswanzan Trumpet MBT from behind, causing it to be abandoned by its crew and leaving some of its parts intact. The tank was almost in perfect condition and served as a museum piece—that is, until it was brought in and dressed up as an OPFOR for Operation Fibonacci.

The Abram's front chobham cheeks are facing in their direction at an almost clear angle, and a small pop-up was used to simulate the commander who was peeking on top of the tank. The crew compartment itself was also filled with test dolls to simulate the crew and to check the post-penetration damage once the operation was done.

Nonetheless, with the Abrams in their sight, all that was left was for the gunner to shoot. As the gunner squeezed the right trigger, the SAUT-130M5 gun immediately responded from the digital input and struck the electric programmable primer of the VTA3-M5 APFSDS. In a span of a few milliseconds, the RPD-380 propellant ignited inside the advanced combustible cartridge, pushing the pressure towards the sabot and smoothly propelled it towards the end of the barrel. The sabot exited the barrel, followed by a thick fire and smoke gushing out like a dragon showing her fury. A loud boom echoed across the field as the SAUT-130M5 recoiled, and the VTA3-M5 discarded its sabot, transforming it into a 36mm fin-stabilized dart. Thanks to a chamber pressure of 804.22 MpA, the DU-tipped fin-stabilized dart traveled at the speed of Mach 5, or more specifically, 1,805 meters per second. The dart quickly broke the sound barrier and penetrated the frontal armor of an Abrams, with the entire process being done in just a single impressive second.

The breech quickly opened up and ejected the used case, and a new round was inserted by the bustle loader, making the tank ready to fire once again.

Commander Murshiya: "Another one! Fire!"

This time, the gunner aimed for the hull and squeezed the trigger, firing off the gun and hitting just beneath the mantlet, penetrating through its thick armor.

Commander Murshiya: "Target neutralized! Ceasefire!"

The gunner pulled his finger away from the main gun trigger, but he still had his other hand poised to fire the co-axials as part of their protocols. A short silence flowed into the crew compartment, with Commander Murshiya searching once again for targets in his digital commander view. It wasn't that long until he found yet another target just beyond the knocked-out Abrams, and repeated the same process as earlier

Commander Murshiya: "Target identified 1:30! Range: 3,000 meters! Marked! Fire when ready!"

This time, the target is a white wooden platform, moving with a red reticle target marked at the center. As the gunner pitched the steer towards the target, he once again applied the rangefinder digitally provided by the commander and applied the wind correction data for the gun. He also turned on the target lead director programs, allowing the JP-2 to automatically traverse its turret at the same speed as the acquired target. With a quick calculation from the algorithms, the Rakata BMS automatically corrected the lead aim, giving it an accurate shot prediction

"Firing!"

Without any hesitations, the gunner squeezed the trigger and fired another VTA3-M5 APFSDS towards the moving target. In just 3.72 seconds, both the gunner and the commander have witnessed the tracer hitting the target's center point from their screens, accurately knocking out the supposed target with pin-point precision. Not one of them spoke, and their short interval was disturbed as they were radioed by the battalion command.

"Tank 224 ------ targets all neutralized in the rendezvous ---- Objective markings cle---r from your BMS"

For the first time, the VTA3-M5 APFSDS was used, and it has already proven itself as a notable abrams killer... Thanks to the high performing SAUT-130M5 gun, the VTA3-M5 and its immense pressure could be easily handled and maintained. Its advanced combustible cartridge further lessens its barrel wear, making it much more ideal for mass usage. Nonetheless, the results are clear: The dummy crew inside the Abrams were clearly pierced by spalling, sending in a simple message to the world: The Janpian Tank force is still lethal as usual.

As the future of Civilization seem to continue to stream steadily towards an apocalyptic end due to the war like tendencies of Government's who's sole function is spreading their corrupted government officials influence over the world, the Shazbotdom Empire is looking towards the continued survival of Humanity. Over the course of the last year, the Shazbotdom Empire has been working tirelessly at the expansion of humanity to the stars.

Since April this year we have worked tirelessly to plant segments onto the Lunar Surface that will become the first Permanent Human Settlement outside of the Earth's Atmosphere. According to a public records request by this paper, a total of 28 Missions have been initiated and completed for the First Lunar Colony. There have also been a total of 22 Missions for the building of the High Orbit Transfer Station, which will be utilized as a stopping point for future Colonization missions outside of Earth's Sphere of Influence to the Martian and Venusian surfaces.

Not too long ago, also, the Lunar Orbit Transfer Station was built and delivered into orbit over the Lunar Surface as a stopping point for Colonists from Earth to the Lunar Surface. There was also a grid of 32 Satellites put into Lunar Orbit to create a Satellite Internet system in orbit over the Lunar Surface, which will connect to Earth by multiple strategically positioned satellites in Low and Mid range Orbit over Earth. Shazbotdom Imperial Space Administration Director, Dr. Gilbert Godwin went on record saying, "If we are to Colonize the solar system, we need to ensure that our Colonists have a fast way to contact not only the Imperial Government, but also their family and friends back here on Earth". He went on to say, "This Satellite Internet Constellation was developed and manufactured in conjunction with our friends at the Shazbotdom News Corporation."

The future of Human Civilization looks bright, as long as people set aside their differences and work to not only ensure peace here on Earth, but ensure that Humanity spreads across the cosmos, starting with our closest neighbor Luna.

"Mama, why do the stars sparkle at night but disappear during the day?"

These were the words of 3-year-old Natya, pointing towards the dark, starry night over Kalingrad. Her caretaker simply smiled and patted her, knowing that she's just a caretaker, and Natya is an orphan. But at the very least, she did feel a deep sense of joy and gratitude for being recognized as someone's mother.

"Good question Natya!"

The caretaker chuckled and continued in a soft tone.

"Just as our elders used to say, those stars are people like you and me! But unlike people, the stars only twinkles at night whenever the people sleeps!"

"Hmm? Why so?"

Natya curiously asked, looking at the caretaker with peeked interest. After all, who wouldn't be curious about the star's reasoning?

"There was a story of a princess named Mariskya. She was a joyful girl who lives and plays at night when the stars are at their brightest. She is always birhgt and yet simple in her happiness. Just like you, Natya."

Natya simply smiled and got more interested in her story. She adjusted herself to her chest as the two lay down on top of the orphanage building.

"Mariskya and the stars often played together. During the dark night, they chase around and play games throughout the phantom plains. She rode through the wishing stars and together, they explore the vast cosmos. But as the day breaks forth, she noticed that the stars began to disappear in front of her. It wasn't that long until a few stars remained in the starry sky, and Mariskya began to feel a bit lonely."

Natya cuddled herself at her caretaker's arms, a bit uneasy but she dare to ask

"But... why...?"

The caretaker extended her blanket and looks up to the skies, and continues

"You see, Natya,"

the caretaker began, her voice as gentle as a lullaby.

"The stars are like our friends, who watched over us at night. They shine brightly to keep away the darkness and bring comfort to those who may be afraid of the night. But just like us who needs energy, so too are the stars as well"

She takes a glimpse back to Natya, who has her ears in all attention.

"Mariskya loved the stars dearly,"

she continued.

"And when she asked why they disappeared during the day, the stars told her something very special."

"The stars told Mariskya that during the day, when the bright sun is shining, the people on Earth can finally meet their own star! It may not be as multiple as Marischka's friends, but the sun is a big star for the people of earth."

the caretaker explained.

"Just as the stars shines for her at night, the people also needs the sun to light up their day. When the sun rises, it's the people's time to play and shine brightly, and it's also a time for the stars to take a rest"

As the caretaker finished her simple story, she looked down at Natya, who was now snuggled close, her eyes filled with sleepiness and understanding.

"So, you see, Natya,"

the caretaker said softly,

"the stars never truly disappear. They're always there, just taking their turn for the goodness of everyone."

She takes a look at her once again, only to find her sleeping beneath her blanket. The caretaker smiled and looks up

"Once you've become a star, become the brightest not for one, but for everyone."

With some semblance of Recovery appearing, with Poverty rates, Debt and Unemployment rates dropping, a new age of prosperity has began in the Kingdom of Ukcross. Martial law in Syomland ends after a long year.

All of this, without a King. The mocking nickname the people used to refer to Ukcross was "The Kingless Kingdom" and for good reason, the entire time the Kingdom had come to life, a Regency council governed. This came at the expense of the reputation of the government. This was a Kingdom, and the people were fighting and working for a King, but there was none. What were they fighting for? A Bunch of Generals, Oligarchs and Ministers to retain power? The Regency council was aware of the foundations of their power shaking, and realized they had to do something about it. Desperately they reached out to not just Foreign Royalty, but any favorable country, looking for even a powerful figure to take the crown. In the desperation for a quick monarch, they dropped the law to forbid women from the throne. This was met with some disgruntlement by some conservative elements of the population, but nothing came of it.

In all this, the Defense minister, Bogdan Cvetkovic, instituted a series of Reforms in the military, while comprising it of many more Militias, and employing many more Ukcrossian officers, thus excluding minority elements of the country, the reforms bolstered the military's size by 95,000, at the cost of professionalism. Though some see it as a setback, Bogdan has justified it as "a Necessary upscaling to the military." He now looks for a place to prove his reforms.

The Coronation of Jezia Silverii

Radios all over the country erupt with the news, a Candidate for monarch has been chosen! Jezia Silverii from the Relikan Federation. She is already popular, as is Relikai, after its intervention in the Ukcrossian civil war and its aid since. The Lavender Palace in Chekvon flairs with activities, many important and influential figures all across Ukcross have gathered to witness its first Monarch in almost two centuries and its first Female Monarch ever. Ordinary citizens crowd around the outside of the gate, and some climb atop the walls. The Royal Guard formed up to escort Jezia down the long path, up a flight of stairs and onto a balcony, where it was announced that she would be crowned. She made a quick speech on her goals, including improving the economy, and social conditions of Ukcross. This was met with a large cheer by the crowd, with many shouting the Ukcrossian motto of "Unity through our Kingdom!"

Then, the Queen went Inside a large hall, with the main party goers following after. There was the throne, and as she sat upon it, the Archbishop of the Chekvon Cathedral announced the formal Coronation of Jezia Silverii I, and a Sapphire and Gold crown Placed upon her head, and a Scepter given to her. This came with yet another set of cheers and applause.

After the cheers died down, the entire Regency council walked out infront of the Queen and announced their resignation, this was met with a series of cheers, and silence. The Regency council than left the Palace after bowing and wishing her a successful reign. The Queen's power is now absolute.

Ukcross has a Monarch, and a promising one at that. The Kingless Kingdom no more. Long Live Queen Jezia!



The other candidates for monarch were requested to leave, except for Duke Richard from the Kingdom of Nairschael, people had liked him, and so they sent him home with a trade treaty signed by the Regency council before their resignation.

The Future looks bright for Ukcross.

The Coronation of Jezia Silverii

The House of Silverii is a cadet branch from the House of Silvana, the traditional rulers of the United Federation of Relikai. That the Kingdom of Ukcross was willing to consider a young deputy minister at the age of twenty-four the position of leadership was a great honour for the United Federation, who will now prepare a series of programs to promote cultural and economic exchange between Relikai and Ukcross.

On her side, Queen Jezia Silverii has emphasized the ability of Ukcross to grow from the ashes of the civil war, a hardy and multicultural nation able to return to their formal glory, something the diplomats in Relikai would be more than willing to support and encourage. Relikan sentiment was largely positive, with planners reiterating that any economic plan has to be centered on the Ukcrossian needs and their willingness to partner with Relikan businesses.

The United Federation also pledges a mutual defence guarantee for the independence of Ukcross, to be considered for renewal on the passing of the Crown until its expiry.

Queen Jezia announced a week after her coronation, two acts. Firstly, "The Gradual De-centralization act". It stated that Ukcrossian governors in Gavonna, Hillsburg, Jakksen and Syomland would be replaced with the minority elements in their region. This comes with a large wave of popularity from said minority elements, but at the expense of some minor Ukcrossian support. This also came along with plans of a parliament.

[HEADLINES] MOL Announces $5 Increase In National Minimum Wage; Effective January 2024

The Minister of Labor Colleen Hardy announced a SLO$5 increase to the general minimum wage after a months-long analysis of current salaries, purchasing power, and an analysis in what the COL is expected to be for the next two years. The welcomed increase from $13/hour to $18/hour also came with pushback from major corporations including Cellextrincs Wireless and Show Networks, with both companies similarly saying that they would've been able to naturally match the cost of living year-over-year. The ministry responded in a statement saying "We followed the procedures that were stipulated under law. SLO$18/hour is the minimum wage sufficient to live within the Empire."

Minister Hardy celebrated the increase, saying in a press release that "This is the best action to have been taken in regards to labor in years. It shall decrease poverty and increase our purchasing power." Economists expect that 67% of small businesses would have to conduct layoffs within the first month and that 24% of them would shut down permanently, showing a dark outlook for what may be coming. The new minimum wage has been set to take effect in January 2024, meaning all companies have around 2 months to plan for the increases.

LEAA Enacted; Republican Legal Association Dissolved

Today Emperor Solis signed the Legal Equality and Access Act of 2023 into law, also referred to as the LEAA. The act, drafted by Minister of Justice Sara Mauer, addresses inequities within the justice system that were brought to light by the case of Laura Russell. The case was one of national attention after a historic overturn of multiple convictions, including espionage, in a nation with one of the world's highest conviction rates. The overturn by the Appellate Court of Appeals was due to "systemic evidentiary issues" according to one of the judges on the case Amelie Leitch.

After Laura's release from prison, she became a fighter for justice reform after "blatant ignorance of the association supposed to protect people under law" according to her on the news at the time of her release. The law officially advances some of the reform that Laura advocated for, including for the dissolution of the RLA, which got replaced by a government agency within the MOJ, establishing the first government oversight over lawyers in Makko Okoan history. The biggest addition, however, was a form of jury duty in other nations with trial by jury being established, colloquially named service duty.

Service duty has many lawyers speaking out against the act, with the former Chief Attorney of the RLA Joseph Hiatt threatening a nationwide walkout if the law isn't immediately repealed or otherwise amended to remove service duties. Joseph spoke to OBC after a request for comment on the matter, saying "The dissolution of the Republican Legal Association is something that a lot of people dislike, myself included. That, however, can lead to a brighter future for us all. What isn't bright was the concept of a 'service duty'. Lawyers have the right to choose their own cases, and choose their own clients, and shouldn't be forced into any one case because of the government's mandate. I will fight for my people even if the RLA can not."

We reached out to the MOJ, MOL and the Emperor for comment. The MOL redirected us to the Ministry of State Affairs who responded saying "It is the right of the people under the CLUA to protest what they feel is unfair, however only in support of union action. No protests are legal without union authorization, and a reminder that government officials who are lawyers by profession shall not strike or protest as declared under statute." The Minister of Justice Sara Mauer personally responded telling OBC News: "The RLA was corrupt, and in that corruption was a fallacy of complaint resolution. They may do what they have to, however, they are only protesting advancement and refuse to be held accountable."

The Emperor couldn't be reached for comment. The Legal Services Bureau has announced that new exams and regulations to replace that of the RLA will be ready by the end of the year.

MOJ Calls To Repeal International Non-Consensual Sexual Recording Ban

Today the Ministry of Justice in a rare move motioned to repeal a currently at-vote proposal before the World Assembly that would've prohibited non-consensual sexual recording or its distribution on an international scale. According to the motion's starter, Minister of Justice Sara Mauer, she told OBC that "This proposal was in good faith, however only an attempt. More needs to be done, and this proposal wont cut it." Emperor Conall Solis agreed, saying in a rare move that "We need a replacement as soon as it starts", hinting that they believe that it will be enacted.

OBC legislative analysts believe this to be true, with "No" votes significantly down since the start and "Yes" votes rising exponentially. OBC will keep you updated on the situation as it develops.

HSA Publishes Mid-Year Operating Report, Wide Success

The Health Services Administration, the agency responsible for overseeing and managing the MakCare government health insurance program have published a mid-year operating report today on MakCare. According to the report, which is comprised of both the Public Claimants Report and the Network Visit Report, it details that since the incorporation of MakCare in the summer of last year, over 1 billion people have enrolled in at least one MakCare plan in compliance with the LSA. Meanwhile, due to the ban of private insurance being lifted in March of this year, over 500 million people have enrolled in private health insurance. The enrollments are split down the line with 5% enrolled on the cheapest plan, 2% enrolled on the Basic Services Plan and 88% being enrolled in both the Premium Services Plan and the Supplemental Animal Friends Plan, or SAFP.

The statistics show that the majority of the population are well-off to be able to afford the most expensive tiers of services, a good look for the government indeed. In fact, the HSA is now the richest agency in the bureaucracy by income, with the agency taking in a whopping SLO$5.4QT/month in premiums. The highly unusual costs for emergency care have led the Law Council to open an inquiry, according to Minister of Justice Sara Mauer in an email to OBC News.

OBC reached out to the HSA to see what they thought about the report, and the HSA Administrator Hubert Odegaard responded telling us: "I think the report shows a deep pocket of this nation, and also at the same time, a lack of communication. As Administrator of now the highest-funded government agency in the nation, we'll be able to implement so much to help our people be informed and to avoid penalties under the law." The next advancement of MakCare, they told us, was the impending introduction of service programs, which are currently in the works with the Emperor and the Minister of Health.

This comes with rumors of a mobilization of the reserves, but many don't believe it. So many are war weary, why another war? For what? But they are only rumors.. Right?

Due to the recent developments involving members of the Ukcrossian military we will also be mobilizing the Eecet national guard and preparing the police force to repel a possible invasion from destabilizing elements. These actions will be complimented by the deployment of an extra 3,000 troops and 2 aerial squadrons each consisting of 13 F-22s and 2 F-35 fighter jets. These units will help reinforce the garrison of 500 Galapagos troops stationed in the city at all times.

Given the sudden mobilization of troops, along with idle threats of war, combined with a late mobilization of infantry and ships, the Gonswanzan fleet dispatched to Nyetoa arrives to reinforce forces on the islands of Fort Esti and Ason, closing off the islands and preventing "runners" from fleeing. With the rumors of invasion however, the MoD has become even more cautious, authorizing for the rapid deployment of paratroopers into the two islands to further reinforce the garrisons present, along with a rush shipment of coastal defenses to add to the layers of defenses already present. A media blackout is enacted, with jammers set in place to stop transmissions to and from the islands, preventing the public from finding out what is going on, while ELINT vessels deployed with the fleet work to track possible targets.

The ELINT vessels were working hard to intercept communications and gather intelligence, while other vessels track satellites, ready to help should war break out, by aiding in the guidance of ASAT weapons. Mines are deployed around the islands to discourage landings, while submarines that came with the fleet deploy N-Torpedoes to act as a spearhead in case of a nuclear war. A hopefully temporary measure, but one that could easily put the coast in danger should it come to that.

Today we see the twenty three ships of Task Force Samaria leave Haifa for the journey towards Ukcross where elements of Task Force Judea has anchored while undergoing refueling and replenishment missions. This is one of the Planned Projection Exercises held by the United Federation to establish presences in potential hotspots around the world, following the implementation of Naval Plan 432. Naval Chancellor Aswin Silverii has confirmed that this will be a two-week long combat exercise to be conducted between Task Force Judea and Task Force Samaria to further undergo stress-testing of Relikan naval doctrine and combat coordination readiness at sea.

Task Force Samaria is led by Fleet Admiral Horace Wallebon, centered on the fleet carriers UFRS Samaria, UFRS Jericho and UFRS Nablus with a total complement of nearly 150 combat-tested F-24N Se'ara fighters amidst a number of support aircraft. Samaria will accompany a flotilla of twelve replenishment ships which will both provide fuel and supplies throughout the exercise, ensuring that during this time the units will be able to maintain a full readiness footing against a potential international hotspot.

The Planned Projection Exercise will pit the two task forces against one another, using both surface and air assets to conduct both joint exercises against potential threats from both air, land, sea and even space. Judea and Samaria will also engage in surface fleet wargames, aiming to penetrate the defences of each other in an open test to reveal vulnerabilities of a Sixth Generation Battlespace.

This deployment is also twofold as the United Federation of Relikai seeks to ensure peace and stability in the region, something that might come hard should local tensions continue to rise. Communications between The House of the High Archon Silverheart and that of the Queen Jezia Silverii regarding military postures and the series of defensive treaties and their Casus Belli, where terms and conditions were drawn up to prevent unneeded parties heading into conflict.

Upon the conclusion of the exercise, Task Force Judea will be rotated out of the Area of Operations while Samaria remain on station. After spending months at sea and overseas deployments, Task Force Judea is finally returning home to Cyprus Naval Command where the fleet will undergo a full restructure and new air complement.

[HEADLINES] New Retirement Scheme Launches, MakCare Becomes Free!

Today the Welfare Administration Service announced a new scheme named the Old & Retired Social Pensions Scheme, also referred to as the ORSPS, to replace the current Social Retirement Programme (SRP). The scheme has drastically changed how retirement in the nation will look in the future, with a new tier-based payment scale being established that dictates a maximum payout dependent on how much was paid in Benefits Tax. The scheme was much-needed reform mandated through the Social Security Act of 2023, and as such makes use of the NBN to determine payouts and eligibility, making it the first program to do so.

Since the enactment of the SSA earlier this year, 45% of all citizens have either been issued an NBI or requested one voluntarily, and only 1% of those were new births. The ones who don't have an NBN, the WAS reports, are mainly the elderly, retired or anybody who doesn't live within the nation. Many who are currently retired or approaching retirement are angry over the fact that they're forced on to the SRP and are declared ineligible due to the lack of contributions through the recently-established NBN. OBC reached out to the Executive Director Ruby Woods for comment and they responded saying: "I realize that there is going to be some upset in relation to our recently launched scheme, however, it has to be this way. We cannot simply exempt some people from rules and enforce them on others. In the end, the SRP gives you more money irrespective of the work, and that can be taken as a token of the government's appreciation."

Some economic policy analysts see the comparison of the SRP to the ORSPS to be an apples-to-oranges comparison, with one Nick Darnell saying in a statement to OBC: "The SRP was a much different program of 'free money, come get it' without any respect as to if they had worked enough to even deserve that much. The ORSPS on the other hand, gives value to retirement, and forces people to work to earn it. It's less discriminatory in general, and better for society and for the government's budget." One of the biggest introductions was 100% free healthcare for pensioners, with a scheme setup under Minister Hicks' announced health improvement plans giving all active pensioners a MakCare Basic Services Plan free of charge.

Many on MakBook celebrated the move, but called for "more permanent free healthcare accessible to all". The Minister of Health Danika Hicks commented saying "The introduction of free healthcare for all pensioners is one of my greatest actions as a member of the government. I'd like to thank the WAS Executive Director and the HSA Administrator for coming together with me to make this a plan come true. Hopefully one day MakCare will be free to all." The WAS has stated that the SRP will immediately halt acceptances of new applications, requiring all SRP-eligible persons to reach out to the WAS's Office of Retirement Services to apply and receive benefits. Everybody else will be required to use the new ORSPS scheme.

Mass Stabbing At MOHW Field Office: 20 Dead, 10 Injured, 3 Critical

A mass stabbing incident at a local Ministry of Health & Wellness field office in Wyandotte, Livonia, Makko Oko today left over 20 dead and 3 critical. According to a statement from NSS Lead Agent Seymour Coggins, the perpetrator had "every intention to commit grievous murder, not harm" with "the throats slashed of any unexpected victim, and many cuts on those who fought". The field office supposedly had no security on-site, according to government insiders, leading to an incident that took 15-20 minutes to handle. The NSS has refused to name the perpetrator. Once police arrived, the perpetrator lunged at the commanding officers, who then immediately shot him in the chest, sending him to the ground. EMS were then called to the site, but by the time they had arrived, the perpetrator was declared dead.

A lawsuit from the families of the slain and from the injured has been filed against the ministry citing a "lack of safety and security in the workplace". According to a statement from one of the injured who wished to remain anonymous, "We knew them. They had mental health problems, however no law mandated their treatment, and they refused to get treated. We reported our concerns to [the police] and to our supervisors and none of them did anything. This led to the incident that has occurred today." OBC reached out to the Field Office Supervisor for Wyandotte for comment, however we didn't hear back.

Both the NSS and the plaintiffs in the lawsuit have refused to discuss the motives of the perpetrator. The Minister of Health Danika Hicks held a press briefing after the incident at the field office, saying "The ministry, nor the government condone this senseless act of violence. We will investigate this to the fullest extent of the law."

[HEADLINES] Law Council Authorizes Impeachment Hearing For Minister Hicks

Today, a couple of days after the Minister of Health blew up at the government on live TV over potential state involvement in the poisonings, the Law Council has announced that a majority vote of the council on holding an impeachment hearing for her was successful. This has led Minister of Justice Sara Mauer to request an impeachment hearing authorization for the cabinet official as dictated under law, which Emperor Solis approved according to the Office of the Emperor. The vote was 18-2-4, with the 2 neutral votes being members that are no longer present.

This hearing was unexpected, and it will be the first test of procedure never-used, with this being the first impeachment hearing to be held since the Republic. Minister Hicks is reportedly being charged with one count of 'disclosure of state secrets', a crime under the Secrets Disclosure Act of 2023. The Office of the Emperor has stated that Minister Hicks will be allowed to maintain their employment and work for pay until such time that the status changes. Minister Hicks refused to comment on the matter.

Emperor Revises Public Order Act, Authorizes Supreme Court During National Emergency

Today Emperor Solis made official a revision to the Public Order Act authorizing both the Supreme and Inspectorate's Court to continue and maintain operations "while in a national emergency or under martial law as authorized by the Minister of Defense". The Supreme Court has been on a pause since the kidnapping of the Chief Justice, Kimberly Giddens, and the Inspectorate's Court since the national emergency. Now, the Emperor says, "the time has come to move on. At this point of time, it is feasible to assume the worst", and with that, Kimberly Giddens has now been declared dead, and her judgeship "will be revoked posthaste" according to the Ministry of Justice. Replacing her as Chief Justice will be her second senior, Justice Edgar Gerlach.

The Supreme Court released a statement on behalf of the judges and clerks, "Chief Justice Giddens will be dearly missed. They were the pinnacle of stability in our Empire, one that may never be found again. Let us move on from these troubles and continue what only she did best". Both courts are set to restart operations by the end of the month.

Ministry of Health & Wellness Report: 50% of Mainland Cleared, Origin Sites Declared Off-Limits

The Minister of Health Danika Hicks came to the public exactly one month after the last report that said only 8 areas of the mainland had been cleared. According to the Radiamonitor Portal, launched and managed by the ICS and MOHW, about 50% of the nation has been cleared and allowed to return to "normal status", meaning hazmat suits aren't a requirement in those areas. The other 50% on the other hand, is made up of mostly rural areas and small towns, and currently has a status of "DO NOT TRAVEL - WEAR RADIATION SUIT". About 7% of the other 50% are designated cleanup sites that were evacuated and aren't expected to be cleared for months.

The cleanup sites, according to Minister Hicks, are all declared "origin sites" where the radiation is said to originate. Current fatality statistics exceed 3 thousand, from the 750 reported over a month ago, and hospitalizations are at a record 5,000, which is causing major strain to medical facilities and staff. Minister Hicks said of the situation: "Thank you all for being as patient as you were. We would've never cleared this much, this quick, without your help."

MOSA Formally Declares GC's Are NOT Government Entities

Today the Ministry of State Affairs has butted into a squabble between OBC and the Ministry of Labor over unionization authority, which began a few months ago. In a press release and briefing, the Minister of State Affairs Nicole Yarger said: "His Emperor's Government fully believes in the right of businesses to unionize, including those entities owned by the Emperor themselves. Therefore, the ministry is ruling in favor of the OBC and shall authorize any business that is government owned or that is a government company ('GC'), to unionize."

The MOL was not available for comment on the matter. The OBC Comptroller Rikke Lassen celebrated, stating that this declaration was a "true sight of humanity from our leaders".
