Welcome to the newest RP of the Commonwealth Society!

We welcome all CWS Member States to participate in this RP. Don't feel intimidated or anxious if you're new to Roleplaying or NS in general, everyone in the CWS is more than willing to help.

Everyone can participate, provided they're a member of the CWS, by commenting on this thread something along the lines of 'I want to participate'.

Any new members or members who joined during the RP are more than welcome to chime in at any point!

For this RP, we recommend that you familiarise yourself with our region through the IC website, specifically our map.

Further background information will be provided in the IC thread once it is up, this will be on Saturday the 30th of September.

How to join

This RP is for members of The Commonwealth Society only. If you are not a member of our region, you are more than welcome to join – please check out our Discord server for details on how to join.

Commonwealth Member States should post a message on this thread stating that they are participating to be allowed to post in the IC thread.

Rules

1. The OP/Co-OP’s word is final.
2. No godmodding – try and be as realistic as possible while keeping artistic flair.
3. No metagaming – OOC knowledge does not transfer to your IC characters/nations.
4. Keep OOC in the OOC thread (be civil!) and vice versa.
5. No inadequate IC posts (I.E. No one-liners, grammar and spelling to be at a decent standard).
6. All CWS Roleplay Regulations must be followed in this RP. These can be found on our Discord.

Timeline of Major Events

30/9/2023 - Batavia alleges West-Swanzi officials and citizens are involved in a thwarted terrorist attack and sends a list of 6 demands to West-Swanzi, giving them until Monday the 9th of October to respond.

4/10/2023 - A Batavian man and a Kherkovian man meet in Little Gratberg, Kottsuki. A secret deal is concluded.

8/10/2023 - President Adamu of West-Swanzi publicly agrees to 5 out of the 6 demands issued by Batavia, only refusing to expell the ELO/ILO.

17/10/2023 - Schikya signs a new military and economic agreement with West-Swanzi, importantly agreeing on building Schikyan military bases in West-Swanzi.

17/10/2023 - In response to the announcement of Schikya building military bases on West-Swanzi soil, Batavia and Demesetelis dispatch the Friendship Fleet to issue a 'quarantine' on West-Swanzi, refusing to let any kind of weapons shipment through.

17/10/2023 - An Aderan carrier group decides to ignore the 'quarantine' and move to dock in Escetia on the Island of Notosia. As the 'quarantine' is not fully in place yet, only a small detachment of Batavian frigates was able to intercept the carrier group. Vastly outgunned, the detachment of frigates 'gave permission' to the carrier group to dock and escorted it to its destination.

24/10/2023 - Representatives from Batavia reach the border with West-Swanzi, where a firefight breaks out. Batavia claims West-Swanzi started it.

25/10/2023 - Wilhelmina blames West-Swanzi publicly for the firefight at the border post and decides to issue the order for a 'special military operation', starting the invasion of West-Swanzi.

25/10/2023 - West-Swanzi President Adamu holds a televised speech, claiming that Batavia invaded West-Swanzi without provocation. He claims the Batavians "monstrously slaughtered" the soldiers and released security camera footage of the firefight. He urges the Commonwealth Society to denounce Batavian aggression.

26/10/2023 - the Krepost Pact starts patrols around West-Swanzi citing the need to protect innocent civilians from piracy and terrorism. The Island of Notosia, where an Aderan carrier group is still docked, is fully blockaded by the joint Krepost Navy.

27/10/2023 - Batavia and Demesetelis issue a joint statement cautiously requesting the Krepost Pact to lift its blockade. The two nations send aid packages via air to the fully blockaded island of Notosia. The pair also urges the Krepost Pact to engage in talks with Aderan relating to the blockaded Aderan carrier group.

28/10/2023 - Bulraton pulls all diplomatic staff out of Batavia and pauses WSAO-integration with both Batavia and Demesetelis. The diplomatic staff is temporarily moved to Kottsuki. Bulraton and Kottsuki issue a joint statement denouncing the Krepost Pact blockade.

2/11/2023 - West-Swanzi President Adamu has private concerns about the loyalty of different elements of West-Swanzi society, namely the military and Aderan descendants on the Island of Notosia.
