2-5.

You know, if only one of these schools were 2-5, at least there would be a scapegoat. At least there would be still hope on the other side.
To have both schools 2-5, inexplicably, is just too much to handle.

Only 1 combined win against the Boreal is ass. Pure ass.
Now, it's back to the MinDiv...or whatever's left of it.

In the mind of the coach pt.2 (short series)

It wasn't a bad game, but Jay knew that the team had given their all ColdHill just happened to get the better of them. However, as they looked ahead to their next opponent - BSU - they knew they would have to bring an even greater level of performance. Blake, their star player, had been absent from the previous game but was expected to return and make a significant impact next week. Addressing his team, Jay spoke passionately, acknowledging their efforts against the surprising defense presented by their previous opponents. He highlighted the resilience and determination they displayed on the field. Though not victorious in that particular game, he emphasized that their performance was commendable. Now, with thoughts turned towards BSU, Jay instilled confidence in his teammates. He reminded them of their capabilities and encouraged them to rise above any challenges that may come their way. With Blake's imminent return and renewed focus from everyone on the team, they would seize the opportunity to ball out and hopefully grab a win over their evermore rivals. As the team took in Jay's words of motivation and support, they were fueled with a renewed hunger for victory. While celebrating the progress made so far, they recognized that there was still work to be done in order to achieve success against BSU. They knew that every member of the team had important roles to play and eagerly embraced the challenge ahead. With a sense of unity and determination coursing through their veins, this group of athletes was ready to face whatever obstacles awaited them on the path towards victory. As they left behind another close game but promising performance against ColdHill defense tonight, they set their sights firmly on conquering BSU next week - fueled by passion and a relentless drive for success. This defeat would not dim their spirits or dampen their enthusiasm; it only ignited a fiery determination within each player as they embarked upon the forthcoming battle with gusto. They were eager for redemption and prepared themselves mentally and physically for what lay ahead fully aware that triumph against BSU was within reach and all they needed was an extra push for them to cross that line.

Blake Zuercher PT 16.

In the crowd-filled stadium, Blake sat there watching the intense game against Coldhill. He couldn't help but notice the incredible performance of his back-up Quarterback Hadley Stabile. Yet, something seemed amiss despite Stabile's remarkable efforts, it wasn't enough to give their team the crucial push they needed. As the final whistle blew and disappointment filled the air, Blake and his family rose from their seats to depart for home. The flame of determination still burned within him; he knew that tomorrow would be another day of practice. He understood the importance of proving himself on that field after the concussion. This was not just a mere game for Blake; it was his passion and dedication embodied in every minute he spent honing his skills and he knew that this was his draft year so he NEEDED to show up and end this year with at least a bowl game or maybe another shot at the Big 8 championship game. With each practice session approaching like an opportunity to leave an indelible mark on the field, he knew that complacency wasn't an option. As he left behind the stadium lights and made his way home with unwavering persistence in his heart, Blake's mind echoed with a resolute commitment to show everyone what he was truly capable of achieving on that field. Tomorrow's practice session held endless possibilities for him, a chance to showcase his unwavering commitment and determination in pursuit of excellence. No matter how challenging or exhausting it may be, Blake was prepared to push himself beyond limits and make every second count. With every stride he took towards home that evening, anticipation swelled within him as he eagerly awaited another opportunity to prove himself on that coveted turf. The cold night air couldn't extinguish his fiery spirit or dampen his unyielding drive for success. Tomorrow would be a new chapter in Blake's journey towards greatness, one where resilience meets skill and effort surpasses talent. And as each new day dawns upon him with rays of opportunity streaming through its cracks, Blake knows deep down that it's his unwavering dedication to surpassing all limitations that will ultimately make him a better quarter-back than before and too just help his road too the RFL.

And tomorrow came faster than he expected as Jay wanted them at the field at around 4am so Blake made sure to show up and although the rest of the team looked dead he tried to get them going with a pump up, although it worked for a good chunk of people some were still dead in the water. Until around 12pm the team was tired and given their breaks before they had classes or other things to do. So they ate as much as they could, and one thing the BYU football program knew how to do well was make some good food for its players. After eating they had one more hour of practice soon that was all said and done. Most of the players left and well since Blake didn’t have any classes he texted his wife and told her he was going to spend another hour or two watching film with the coaches. Once he got the go ahead from her although he had to pick up his daughter from daycare, which he didn’t mind. He loved his daughter and honestly wouldn’t mind spending a couple extra minutes with her. After a quick walk to the film room he found Toma Bawu the transfer from Banija so he sat next to him and saw the young O-linesmen writing what needs to be done to protect the QB better and well him and Blake talked for a bit before Bawu had to head off top class. So in the end it was just him and the film so he watched as much as he could, in the end he stayed for around 2 ½ hours before he had to pick up his girl from daycare, Blake was driving thinking about plays (but still being road safe) until he made it too the daycare to pick up his little one and after filling out the check out he smiled as his pride and join ran up and hugged him. He loved football but if anything was to get him to quit playing it would be his daughter (and wife).

After the drive home, Blake decided to kick off the evening by inviting his neighbors over for a backyard BBQ. And boy, was it a blast! Almost everyone showed up to enjoy the good times. As fate would have it (or maybe just sheer coincidence), Blake and some of the other dads found themselves next to the grill. Determined to make the perfect burgers and hot dogs for everyone, they embraced their inner grill masters. With sizzling sounds and mouthwatering aromas filling the air, it was a lovely time for Blake to show off his grilling prowess. The true statements were met with laughter and camaraderie as friends gathered around, eager to indulge in some delicious food and enjoy each other's company. So there they stood Blake and the other dads flipping patties with precision while sharing tips on achieving that just-right char on their beloved grilled creations. It was an atmosphere of pure bliss and satisfaction that only an authentic backyard BBQ could offer. As the sun began its descent beyond the horizon, smiles illuminated faces as plates were piled high with perfectly cooked meats and accompanying sides. Conversations flowed effortlessly amidst bites of juicy burgers and smoky hotdogs. Blake couldn't help but feel content at this moment. An ability to bring people together through good food and good company is truly something special. And as he took a moment to soak it all in amidst laughter and glasses clinking together in cheers, he knew that these backyard gatherings would forever hold a special place in his heart although it had to share with Football and Family.

Expected Order of Finish:

2. West Omnio High School Spectral Monks
3. Flames of the Revolution High School Tears
4. Alnio Academy of the Arts Spectrum
5. East Omnio High School Geomancers
6. Alnio High School Fireworks

Gone are some household names, making this conference intriguing once again. Vitoron School of Charge will have a new signal-caller in Freshman Sidney Jones, who has huge shoes to fill, but the supporting cast of Senior Tight End Qamiya Pierre, a deep threat, and Stephen Marx, the receiver that stretches the field, will make that transition a bit easier. On the defensive side of the ball, the Robots sport Amber Lynne, a physical Free Safety, and Lilac Vera, the Senior Middle Linebacker that calls the plays. Nyra Pondheim, the Quarterback with tremendous mental poise, will lead the Spectral Monks for the third year, with two stellar gargets in Fyre Lindor and Maggie Holst.

The rest of the Conference has caught up. Sophomore quarterback Jericho Gustaffson is a dual-threat player who can absolutely take over a game, while Junior Middle Linebacker Erik Hammer will be at the core of the Tears' defense; Kidd Epstein is the Senior Quarterback for Alnio Academy of the Arts, with Sophomore Derron Cinder taking over has his best target, while the best players for the Geomancers and the Fireworks will be Merril Lyle, the speedy receiver for East Omnio, and Freshman Harvey Daan, who also moonlights as a track star in the spring.

The Season

Week 1
Flames of the Revolution High School 30–0 East Omnio High School
Alnio High School 23–26 Alnio Academy of the Arts
Vitoron School of Charge 33–9 West Omnio High School

Sidney Jones's first start as a Robots Quarterback is a solid one, going 21-of-33 for 312 yards and three scores in the win over the Spectral Monks; the Spectrum win the Battle of Alnio behind Kid Epstein's two touchdown passes to Derron Cinder, and the Tears shut out the Geomancers, Erik Hammer having a game with twenty-one tackles on the day.

Week 2
East Omnio High School 10–10 West Omnio High School (16–10 OT)
Alnio Academy of the Arts 31–40 Vitoron School of Charge
Flames of the Revolution High School 13–9 Alnio High School

The Battle of Omnio goes to overtime, but Merrill Lyle turns a screen pass into a score in that fateful overtime for the win, while the Tears' defense shines in a win over the Fireworks and Jones needs to come through in the clutch with her fourth touchdown to assist the Robots in their game against the Spectrum.

Week 3
Alnio High School 31–30 East Omnio High School
Vitoron School of Charge 51–20 Flames of the Revolution High School
West Omnio High School 37–7 Alnio Academy of the Arts

Sidney Jones doesn't have to do much when her defense feeds her three turnovers as the Robots take down the Tears to remain the only undefeated team in the Conference. The Spectral Monks finally win as Pendheim has a great day, and the Fireworks upset the Geomancers behind a three-touchdown day from Harvey Daan, who can really run in space.

Week 4
East Omnio High School 6–23 Alnio Academy of the Arts
Flames of the Revolution High School 42–14 West Omnio High School
Alnio High School 33–36 Vitoron School of Charge

How coolheaded is Sidney Jones? With the game tied at thirty-three, the Freshman takes the ball sixty-nine yards in five plays in under thirty-two seconds, finding Qamiya Parrine on an out route for the final thirteen yards to set up Dairon Wetters for the game winning Field Goal. The Spectrum's Merril Lyle has another two-touchdown day to take down the Geomancers, and the Tears' Erik Hammer continues his stellar season, putting up another nineteen tackles in their win over the Geomancers.

Week 5
Vitoron School of Charge 33–20 East Omnio High School
West Omnio High School 23–17 Alnio High School
Alnio Academy of the Arts 19–16 Flames of the Revolution High School

The Robots complete their perfect first round-robin as Jones actually has thrown no interceptions in her first five games. The Spectrum clip the Tears as Kidd Epstein shines in the Fourth Quarter, and the Spectral Monks win their second of the year with Maggie Hoist shining, having 181 yards on the day.

Week 6
East Omnio High School 34–41 Flames of the Revolution High School
Alnio Academy of the Arts 28–7 Alnio High School
West Omnio High School 33–23 Vitoron School of Charge

The Spectrum complete the sweep in the Battle for Alnio, the Tears' Jericho Gustafsson has 310 all-purpose yards in a barnburner over the Geomancers, and the Robots' first loss of the year comes at the hands of the Spectral Monks as Nyra Pendheim outduels Sidney Jones, who throws her first wo interceptions of the season.

Week 7
West Omnio High School 13–23 East Omnio High School
Vitoron School of Charge 30–17 Alnio Academy of the Arts
Alnio High School 22–13 Flames of the Revolution High School

East Omnio takes down the Spectral Monks to complete their season sweep, putting a major dent in West Omnio's hopes for contending for the title, while Jones bounces back for another three-touchdown day to take down the Spectrum. Harvey Daan continues to show his potential, having another big day with 191 yards and two touchdowns as the Fireworks upset the Tears.

Week 8
East Omnio High School 27–24 Alnio High School
Flames of the Revolution High School 37–30 Vitoron School of Charge
Alnio Academy of the Arts 20–9 West Omnio High School

Daan can only do so much as Lyle and company take the win instead, while the Spectrum subject the Spectral Monks to their fifth loss of the season, having a solid day from Kidd Epstein; the Tears, to their credit, hand the Robots only their second defeat of the season as Gustafsson does most of the work by himself yet again.

Week 9
Alnio Academy of the Arts 27–3 East Omnio High School
West Omnio High School 16–20 Flames of the Revolution High School
Vitoron School of Charge 10–20 Alnio High School

Absolute chaos. Harvey Daan's ground and pound leads the Fireworks to a surprise win over the Robots, while the Spectrum dominate the Geomancers and the Tears handle the Spectral Monks in the second half to set up a final day where three teams will be tied atop the table.

Week 10
East Omnio High School 13–16 Vitoron School of Charge
Alnio High School 29–23 West Omnio High School
Flames of the Revolution High School 13–16 Alnio Academy of the Arts

When they need it most, the Freshman Jones shines, leading a twelve-play, eighty-three yard drive to get the massive win wotj a tpss tp {arrome, while Epstein does the same against the vaunted Tears' defense, finding Cinder in the back of the right corner of the end zone. Daan shines as the Spectral Monks will actually finish at the bottom of the table despite being rated second in the preseason.

Final Table
Revolution Conference Pld W L PF PA PD
1 Vitoron School of Charge 10 7 3 302 233 +69* Conference Champions, to District Championships (Winners' Round of Sixteen)
2 Alnio Academy of the Arts 10 7 3 214 184 +30* to Consolation Championships (Losers' Round of Twenty-Four)
3 Flames of the Revolution High School 10 6 4 245 211 +34
4 Alnio High School 10 4 6 215 229 −14
5 East Omnio High School 10 3 7 172 248 −76
6 West Omnio High School 10 3 7 187 230 −43
*Vitoron School of Charge ahead of Alnio Academy of the arts due to H2H Result (2-0).
New Quarterback, no problem. The Masterminds look good - and the Spectrum did just enough to outdo the Tears.

MVP: Vitoron School of Charge Freshman Quarterback Sidney Jones (3,183 yards, 28 touchdowns, 4 interceptions)

The most impressive part about Jones's year is the lack of mistakes that she made. It absolutely helped to have a roster of veterans, but her poise and ability to handle pressure has been exemplary - the Robots may have found the perfect player to take over after the graduation of their All-Star.

*Hanai Central High School ahead of Aya K. Jackson High School due to H2H PD (+4) after H2H Result (1-1).

MVP: Wirr Tsi School for the Gifted Senior Strong Safety Paul Rundstead (74 tackles, 4 sacks, 5 forced fumbles, 8 interceptions, 2 defensive touchdowns)

Expected Order of Finish:

1. Wirr Tsi School for the Gifted Masterminds
2. Gurshan High School Drills
3. Aya K. Jackson High School Runners
4. Hanai Central High School Cruisers
5. Wirr Tsi Capital School Bears
6. Air Force Academy High School Wings

Gone is Rudy Sai, the great Quarterback for the Masterminds, but boy oh boy do they have an exciting prospect in Dean Stephens. Standing at 6' 6", Stephens is a massive specimen who can absolutely take a hit and isn't afraid to air it out. Everard Gilstand will be his best friend, being a Running Back who can both run and catch the ball, while the defensive side will feature Ryan Liechard, a hard-hitting Strong Sfeaty, and Kieman Jodunest, a rangy Middle Linebacker. Their bitter rivals, the Gurshan High School Drills, will also feature a new Quarterback in one Fabian Donovan, a gunslingher, with Hannah Riechart as the best target; Free Safety Rain Krell is a physical playmaking Free Safety.

Junior Quarterback Justin Ingrid paces a Aya K. Jackson side looking to make a noise - with Kim Yeong-Bam roaming on the defensive side; Dwayne Fickle, perhaps the best Center in the country, leads the line for Hanai Central ahead of Freshman Quarterback Ysera Caravan, who is more of a runner; Miles Suyanghar enters his Junior year as the feature back for the Bears, while Amy Hallstead steps into Quarterback for the Wings - looking to take the next step given her size and mobility.

The Season

Week 1
Wirr Tsi School for the Gifted 47–13 Air Force Academy High School
Wirr Tsi Capital School 10–16 Gurshan High School
Aya K. Jackson High School 28–7 Hanai Central High School

So far, so good for Dean Stephens and the Masterminds - smashing through the Wings; the Drills survive a Bears' scare with a late score from a pick-six, courtesy of one Rain Krell, and the Runners show how good Justin Ingrind is as they handle the Cruisers with more ease than expected.

Week 2
Air Force Academy High School 27–29 Hanai Central High School
Gurshan High School 24–13 Aya K. Jackson High School
Wirr Tsi School for the Gifted 9–0 Wirr Tsi Capital School

If Stephens does struggle, Leichard and Jodunst has this Masterminds defense ready to go - as they shut down the Bears. The Drills put away the Runners in the second half behind two scores from Fabian Donovan, and the Cruisers outpace Hallstead and the Wings, Ysera Caravan getting a seventy-three yard romp to close things in the Fourth Quarter.

Week 3
Wirr Tsi Capital School 40–34 Air Force Academy High School
Aya K. Jackson High School 10–29 Wirr Tsi School for the Gifted
Hanai Central High School 16–16 Gurshan High School (23–16 OT)

The Cruisers upset the Drills in overtime, Caravan's legs proving to be the difference, while the Masterminds make short work of the runners; the Bears' first win of the year comes from Miles Suyanghar, who goes off for 218 yards and four scores.

Week 4
Air Force Academy High School 20–13 Gurshan High School
Wirr Tsi School for the Gifted 22–17 Hanai Central High School
Wirr Tsi Capital School 29–3 Aya K. Jackson High School

Suyanghar continues his stellar play with another 200+ yards and multiple touchdowns to bury the Runners, the Masterminds keep their hot start by outlasting the Cruisers, and the Wings take their first win of the year as Hallstead leads a late drive to clip the Drills at the end.

Week 5
Aya K. Jackson High School 58–31 Air Force Academy High School
Hanai Central High School 17–3 Wirr Tsi Capital School
Gurshan High School 36–27 Wirr Tsi School for the Gifted

The Masterminds are destroyed by the Drills' precision passing game, courtesy of Fabian Donovan, while the Cruisers stop the Bears' running game in their tracks; the Runners showcase their ridiculous offensive potential, hanging fifty-eight on the Wings.

Week 6
Air Force Academy High School 38–23 Wirr Tsi School for the Gifted
Gurshan High School 25–7 Wirr Tsi Capital School
Hanai Central High School 20–53 Aya K. Jackson High School

The Wings trip up the Masterminds as Stephens struggles on the day; the Drills bounce back with a comfortable win over the Bears, and the Runners score more than fifty points once again, Ilgrind and the offense in grand form.

Week 7
Hanai Central High School 31–34 Air Force Academy High School
Aya K. Jackson High School 7–23 Gurshan High School
Wirr Tsi Capital School 21–14 Wirr Tsi School for the Gifted

Third straight loss for the Masterminds as the Bears' running game eats up way too much time, while the Drills slow down the Runners' offense, putting Ilgrind down eight times. The Wings, on the other hand, have surprised many by winning their third - Hallstead just needs some pieces.

Week 8
Air Force Academy High School 22–33 Wirr Tsi Capital School
Wirr Tsi School for the Gifted 27–3 Aya K. Jackson High School
Gurshan High School 28–10 Hanai Central High School

The Masterminds bounce back, finally, as Jodunst and the defense shut down the Runners; the Bears' Suyanghar take over to bury the Wings, and the Drills are able to easily brush aside the Cruisers behind four touchdowns from Fabian Donovan.

Week 9
Gurshan High School 22–10 Air Force Academy High School
Hanai Central High School 13–21 Wirr Tsi School for the Gifted
Aya K. Jackson High School 9–0 Wirr Tsi Capital School

The Runners show some versatility, winning via defense for once, while the Masterminds continue to win behind three touchdowns from Stephens and the Drills maintain themselves at the top pof the table, holding Hallstead down to just ten points.

Week 10
Air Force Academy High School 17–20 Aya K. Jackson High School
Wirr Tsi Capital School 0–10 Hanai Central High School
Wirr Tsi School for the Gifted 24–6 Gurshan High School

By winning by eighteen - they lost by nine last time - the Masterminds win the conference, as Stephens is kept upright. The Cruisers end their year on a win, and the Runners, who've showed so much potential this season, end their season on a high as well, Ingrind is on point.

Final Table
Grandmaster Conference Pld W L PF PA PD
1 Wirr Tsi School for the Gifted 10 7 3 243 157 +86* Conference Champions, to District Championships (Winners' Round of Sixteen)
2 Gurshan High School 10 7 3 209 151 +58* to Consolation Championships (Losers' Round of Twenty-Four)
3 Aya K. Jackson High School 10 5 5 204 207 −3
4 Hanai Central High School 10 4 6 177 232 −55
5 Wirr Tsi Capital School 10 4 6 143 159 −16
6 Air Force Academy High School 10 3 7 246 316 −70
*Wirr Tsi School for the Gifted ahead of Gurshan High School due to H2H PD (+9) after H2H Result (1-1).
Another team with a Freshman Quarterback that won, the Masterminds' ability to keep Stephens upright and play solid defense on the other end proved to be the difference. The Drills did well enough to have the lead heading into the final day, while the Runners will be back - there is no doubt about that.

MVP: Wirr Tsi School for the Gifted Junior Middle Linebacker Kieman Jodunst (171 tackles, 10 sacks, 5 interceptions, 4 forced fumbles, 4 defensive touchdowns)

The head of the defense for the Masterminds that needed to shine at times, Jodunst was a solid cog in the middle of the defense for Wirr Tsi School for the Gifted.

8: Hebron Naphtali
Buckville, Ranoria

Running Back/Linebacker
Size: 6'2", 225 lb
Handedness: R
Attributes: Rabid, Thumper, Sturdy
Other sports: Baseball
Archetype: Power Rusher

Nothing short of the pride of his hometown, a kid who grew up on a cattle farm was a revelation for his high school team. Buckville High School. Serving a small farm town just south of Highport, was in a conference with a bunch of the large city's bigger schools and traditionally served as their whipping boy. Hebron got limited snaps in his first ever game, but by week 4, after an 0-3 start, the team named him starting running back. In week 5, he also took the starting role at inside linebacker. The team went on to rally for a 5-2 finish, recording their first breakeven season in 32 years. From there it was all better - they went 6-4 his sophomore year, a first for the team in half a century - and he recorded 100 tackles, ten sacks, 1,004 rushing yards, and ten rushing touchdowns. By now Naphtali was already getting looks, but he really exploded as a junior, leading the team to an 8-2 mark and winning the conference for the first time in their history. They lost in the first round of the playoffs, in part due to an MCL sprain that he played through. And in his senior year, he was unstoppable. With a deep playoff run and 13 total games, the beast racked up 234 tackles, 13 sacks, 2,104 rushing yards, and a ridiculous 31 rushing touchdowns. Throw in 2 apiece defensive and receiving scores, and he put up a nice round 35 on the campaign. All of this in spite of having broken his dominant right arm in week three, one of their two losses on the season.

He didn't miss a start, instead carrying the ball in his left hand. With the inability to cover the ball and carrying in his off hand, he did put the ball on the ground an alarming six times, but he also got really good at catching one handed with that left, recording three interceptions and twenty one catches after the break. Notably, he was also named homecoming king at the tail end of that senior season.

Loves football, but still has dreams of a couple hundred acres and a farm in retirement - wants to pursue some sort of agricultural degree. More of a linebacker prospect than running back, but can play either.

Domino Arena, Napoli-Zinemar City University

Derrick Hasselman had arguably played the best game of his young career in this one, and inside the five, he'd delegate the responsibility of bringing it home. The Lions had milked the clock as much as they could afford to, and inside the five, they handed it off to their big back Haschmail Bryan, who'd surprisingly had a lot of success on the ground against this talented if young Richardson defense.

He dropped back one final time and tried to fire a ball over linebacker Kerron Nicholas, lofting it high, but inside the five there wasn't enough space - the 6'8" obelisk in the middle of this defense got a hand on it...only for Haschmail Bryan to abandon his post as a blocker and extend all of his 6'4" frame to reel it in. He stumbled from the extension, and Lyn Dairon was the only one who had a shot on him. Unfortunately, the bleach-blonde linebacker's perfect attempt at a tackle was simply shrugged off as the six foot four senior ran through her into the end zone and sprinted through the back line, pounding his chest as the Lions' faithful roared their approval. Kerron Nicholas helped his Chromatik counterpart to her feet as the defense lined up for a PAT, and on the sideline, it was quarterback Isaiah Hunter who had his helmet on first.

"Under a minute left," he glanced pointedly to Rylan Rodgers Jr, "That means I get the touchdown this time, alright?" He buckled his chin strap as the back laughed - with his two scores on the day, he might've taken a bit of the glory for himself in this one.

"I dunno Isaiah, RSSN has always been critical of your deep ball. Think you can make the deep passes?"

Of course when they got the play call - they locked eyes again with a smirk. It was one of the simplest, most basic tricks in the book, but it would get the job done.

With under a minute left in the game, they came out in a two back set. In many scenarios it'd be enough to make a defender cry - a burly Richardson offensive line leading the way and Isaiah Hunter in the shotgun with the electric RRJ on one flank and massive Benjamin Merik on the other. The first play was a surprise - Merik took the handoff and Rylan darted over him the other way, sealing off the back side of the rush and surprising the undersized Lion edge rusher Cerave Makze enough to knock him off his feet and clear the way for Merik. The burly back managed to stiff arm one defender, then was knocked out of bounds after a nice eleven yard gain.

Many might've been asking - why run the ball here? The answer became clear on the next play. Coming out in the same formation, everything looked the exact same. Rylan came over, but this time dashed around Makze as Merik looked to take the handoff. With more room to run, Rylan took off, with too much green grass for the defense to close on a player with his speed. Hunter pulled the ball out late and launched it down the sideline just as Rylan came up into a true wheel route, getting behind the entire defense and catching the pass in stride as he waltzed into the end zone, finishing it with a perfect baseball slide just as he crossed the finish line.

The stadium was flooded with a cacophony of gasps and clunks as people either flopped into their seats in despair of buried their head in their hands in disbelief. All the while Rodgers holding a finger over his lips - this thing was over.

Hasselman and co would have another shot at it of course, but Shean Eckert didn't really like that idea - the Deleclav junior came off the edge like a bat out of hell, starting with a dip and rip then executing a perfect spin move when it missed. He was one step away from there, and with his freaky athleticism, Hasselman never had a chance, buried by the older man just before the ball was torn from his grasp.

Robbed Of An Instant Classic: Rowles-Led Buffalo Cruise Past A Hamstrung BYU

Image
Rowles maintained his perfect record as a starter against the Miners

Last season's pair of showdowns between Benoit Youngblood and Blake Zuercher were the two most exciting matchups of the Big 8's lineup outside of Richardson and Cold Hill's showdowns. This season, we may not get one - with both starters out, this one came back to quarterback depth, and the Buffalo had a future superstar in their stable. In a continuation of what's been an embarrassment of riches at quarterback throughout Chris Dale's tenure, he's been perfect - one interception and no losses in his collegiate career to this point as he continues to lean on a deep receiving core. The BYU defense looked overmatched, especially without Zuercher manning their quarterback spot to keep the ball in their hands with some consistency, they just couldn't cover everyone, and Rowles' surprising ability to read coverage this early in his career as a starter has been impressive.

In his three full starts, he's thrown for over three hundred passing yards in each, and Kasozi Batte has feasted off of his production - Batte's recorded 38 catches in the last three weeks with seven receiving touchdowns in that span and a monstrous twelve already on the campaign. Despite a loaded receiving corps featuring a proven Enox Silverman, an ascendent Heine Stølan, and a nice surprise in Jules Tille's production, Batte has commanded targets and capitalized on them. You know that Rylan Rodgers Jr guy in Richardson who's getting so much hype this season? Batte actually has more receiving yards than RRJ does rushing, with both knocking on the door of a 1,000 yard season going into week 8.

Meanwhile, Heine Stølan is - while playing well and delivering explosive plays on a weekly basis - still searching for his first career touchdown. Averaging almost 15 yards per reception, he's got the breakaway speed and has put it on display time and again - it just hasn't been enough to go all the way to this point. Of course, it doesn't help when you have two ridicoulously tall wideouts in Kasozi Batte and Enox Silverman manning the perimiter and hogging all the red zone targets. Of Cold Hill's 19 passing touchdowns this season, those two have accounted for 16 of them, with Jules Tille chipping in two and TE Tony Fuller another.

At 7-0, Cold Hill is the last undefeated team in the NSCF and they have been for some time while Richardson boasts the competition's best point differential.

Despite that, at this point it's unlikely they'll get a chance at getting their first Everless division crown - Cold Hill's got High City and Sea Dome in the next two matchups, and a loss against either would be the biggest upset of the season to this point. For the Buffalo, the biggest implications of the game will be their sophomore passer's growth - can Victor Rowles perform against a top-3 team with a strong defense?

That's a month away though. For now - they're 7-0 and cruising with the young gun at the helm.

BSU Broncos: Belief Builds

To say the mood Inside the BSU Broncos' locker room after their 46-24 win was electric would be an understatement, the air itself seemed alive with the jubilation and adrenaline of the blowout win mixed with the determination to keep grinding towards the ultimate prize. It was a raw, unfiltered emotion and celebration and every player it in their skin, realizing this was more than just another mark in the W column; it was a statement. Last week a solid win against Richardson, this week a blowout of High City, next week? Perhaps the biggest game of the season, hosting emerging rivals BYU at home. The LeBois Santura University Broncos were now sat atop the Evermore Division with their eyes fixed forward on the playoffs, getting the win against Blake Z and the BYUers would be a huge step towards accomplishing that.

The lads streamed into the locker room wearing some of the biggest smiles of their lives, feeling the incomparable joy winning a college football game inspires. This wub, just a week after their historic win against Richardson University, went a long way to proving that, this year, the Broncos were a force to be reckoned with. They were a force that believed in themselves, they were a force that was ready to celebrate this victory!

Sophomore linebacker Alabaster Red, the heart and soul of the Broncos' defense, showed why he was a team captain, slapping everybody on the back and bigging them up no matter how big or small their contribution on the field had been. Bid Red’s voice cut through the room as he rallied his teammates, yelling “let’s fucking go, let’s fucking go!” just about a thousand times, screaming at them to take their game to a higher level. He showed why he was a captain, not only putting in another commanding performance on the field, but also with his unwavering conviction and passion in the team's potential.

In another corner of the locker room, Bobby Dials wrapped his wide receivers into a huddle with his wide receivers, already breaking down the game, the good and the bad, and how they can pivot to next week. Bobby was a leader in a different way, always focused on winning and driving his teammates to the same. Even now, in the locker room after another big win, when other quarterbacks might be, understandably, more interested in celebrating their accomplishment, Big Dials was thinking about the next victory. His focus and total commitment to winning was inspiring to his teammates, as he was coming to realize that the path to greatness required relentless effort and preparation.

Head Coach Steve Valentine, typically cutting a cool, calm and collected figure on the sideline, was highly emotional. He gave a brief but highly motivational speech to his players, yelling at them that they were building their moment, the chance to succeed was right there, they just had to work for it. They were all great footballers, he said, but their biggest strength came from being a part of the family that existed in the locker room.

Coach Valentine was thrilled to see that, as he finished his speech, his lad were celebrating not as individual players but as a team. A team who could win, who could punch out teams, and as they yelled and cheered, they knew that they were on the cusp of something special for Cardenao. Two huge wins in a row. Handily beating Richardson University, one of the better teams in the entire competition, then a commanding victory in this most recent game, now next match?

Bingham Young University. BSU's biggest rival. Blake's biggest rival. Both teams having a decent season, BSU coming in with the better form. This was it. This was the season on the line. 60 minutes for the rest of their lives.

Slowly order came to the room as the players went to their own locker and post-game rituals, pivoting to the week to come, one thing was clear – the Broncos were now in control of their fate. The pole position in the Evermore Division was theirs, the road ahead was hard, but now they were in Broncos Country, it was time to ride.

Week 10 and Final: South Newlandian High School Gridiron

Mark Friednan High School (Ratzupalfu) 29–7 Ineton City High
To decide the fate of the Eastern Division, 7-2 Ineton City had to travel to 6-3 Mark Friednan, and the team from the island immediately struggled out of the gate. In a complete reversal to their previous matchup, QB Willie Graham struggled throughout. Interestingly, the loss dropped Ineton City’s road record to 1-3 on the season, while they won all six of their home matchups. In any case, a strong Mark Friednan defense was able to clamp down on the wide receivers, with senior Laura Davis standing out again. Meanwhile, a solid pair of rushers in Engel and Meyer managed to sack Graham three times between the two, and Willie Graham only threw for a single garbage-time touchdown all game. Meanwhile, Mark Friednan QB Adam Scott was able to hold steady against a young, talented Ineton pass rush. Mark-Vincent Young handled a large chunk of the workload in a game he knew might end up his last for Mark Friednan, with the senior back accumulating well over 100 yards. In the end, however, it was not enough. With the two schools tied at 7-3 atop the Eastern Division, the tiebreaker was H2H point differential – because of the week 6 blowout loss, Ineton City High would still make it to the Big Seven Final.
Beachside High (Kinjestad) 7–13 Elephant Valley Southwest High School
Elephant Valley Southwest would only need to win their game on the road at Beachside, who would be eager to play spoiler. A loss would give Paachang an opportunity to overtake them. It was a close game, even though Ellie Valley Southwest jumped out to an early lead. As predicted, Lennard Thompson harassing Beachside QB Scott Yadav was a major difference maker. Behind a weak O-Line and little help from his weapons, Yadav did his best to keep his team in the game; rushing for one touchdown in his final game with Beachside. He also threw two picks, one returned deep by corner Surya Bibi-Stein to set up a field goal to make the score 13-7. With time running out, Yadav had one last chance to lead a miracle touchdown drive to win the game. He led his team into the red zone, and with one of the most reliable kickers on his team, a touchdown here would likely win the game. However, on 3rd and 7 from the 11, Lennard Thompson screamed around the edge for his third sack of the game; and a prayer on 4th and forever fell unanswered. Ellie Valley held on to make the Big Seven final.
Paachang High School (Jagomir) 23–27 Elephant Valley Northern
It didn’t even really matter. At home, facing a pretty mediocre Northern team with no real star players, Paachang fell flat. Bruce Bennett and Krish Couto didn’t have their usual connection dialled him, but worse than that, the Paachang defense could not tread water against Northern. Blown coverages and just simple mistakes riddled a very winnable game that Paachang nonetheless lost, sending off their captain of the defense, Ruth Lewis. Of course, a win wouldn’t have changed much; much like Mark Friednan, a very capable team was dealt out of the running for the Final despite a solid season.
Big Seven Final aka the Stein Trophy:
Elephant Valley Southwest High School 37–17 Ineton City High
It was a pretty anti-climactic final. After a pick six by Surya Bibi-Stein, the game was functionally over midway through the second quarter. Southwest High got to host this game thanks to their win over Ineton City in week five, and much like in that game, Ineton QB Willie Graham didn’t get much going all game. This time, he at least didn’t finish the game without a single touchdown, finding Joe Hill in the end zone in garbage time. Nevertheless, a strong Southwest run game and defense made sure thus game was not even close. Lennard Thompson, thanks to yet another dominant pass rushing game including a forced fumble, managed to win the Stein Trophy MVP – a rare feat for a defensive player, but a good sendoff for the senior.

Final Standings:

Big Seven MVP
The MVP race realistically came down to a few players after Wille Graham’s last game basically put him out of the running. He still had a terrific season, but recency bias would likely prevent an MVP award. The two other most effective QBs of the season were Paachang QB Bruce Bennett and Mark Friednan QB Adam Scott. Additionally, Friednan running back Mark-Vincent Young and DE Lennard Thompson, who spearheaded by far the best defense, were in the running too. In the end, the award went to Lennard Thomson; who broke through as the ultra-rare non-QB MVP; but the numbers the pass rusher put certainly warranted the award; especially in a year with no real standout QB easily lapping everyone else.

Jays rout Feathercaps 36-17; eliminated from division contention

A great effort from this entire Blue Jays' team led them to a 36-17 win over Trent State. However, playoff hopes for the Jays and Jays fans' alike most likely ends here, with the only guaranteed playoff berth, a division title. The keywords in that last sentence however, were "most likely". While impossible for the Jays to win the division after this week, the three wildcard playoff slots, selected by the NSCF committee at the end of the regular season, do offer a last chance berth into the playoffs, for programs right on the cusp of that playoff spot.

At the end of week four, getting back to .500 seemed like a gargantuan task with the hole the Jays dug themselves in at the beginning of the season. Now, after the week 4 games, the Jays boast a 3-0 record, a +71 point differential, and rejuvenated confidence. Had the Jays caught this fire at the start of the season, who knows how much better they would be, but what with almost absolute certainty, the Jays would not, be out of the division race in week 7.

The road back into the playoffs is a treacherous one at best. The Jays' only chance at getting in would be to win out the rest of the year, putting them at a 9-4 record. If they do that, there is a high likelihood that they will make it in, but slight, if not any deviation from this route puts them in jeopardy. Even if they manage to go 9-4, they are still not guaranteed to get in to one of 3 spots. Some strong schools right now that are in contention for these spots are programs like UPAM Boca-Rana, Constantinople, Richardson, Cavsar, and Saguenay, just to name the top competition. If the Blue Jays still finish out the season solid, they can rest easy knowing they'll be in a bowl game, but Head Coach Craig Kelly is not at UC-Prairie to go to bowl games, he is here to go for the glory, and with that, the Jays will not give up their chances of making the NSCF postseason in their inaugural campaign.

UC Rebounds against Redbirds with Trent State on deck
Andre Rudolph
Daily News UC Football Beat Writer

The University of the Commonwealth bounced back from their historic defeat at the hands of UPAM-Boca Rana with normal service resumed as the earned a 37-16 win over University of Alexandroupolis in New Gesem.

Jarvis Banks resumed his starting role at QB after being benched at halftime in the loss and threw for 3 TD's while running for another as the Warriors scored on five straight possessions on either side of halftime after falling behind 10-3 in the first quarter while the defense surrendered just the single touchdown and limiting UA to a pair of field goals over the final 30 minutes. The loss ended the Redbirds six game winning streak although they remain atop their division which could lead to a rematch in the conference championship game between the teams.

The win moves UC to 5-2 and out to a 3 game lead in the the Heartland Division over the TJUN-ian schools that the Warriors will face in the next two games. Both Trent State and defending MinCon champs Green City are struggling with identical 2-5 records with the Royal Naval Academy showing improvement during cross-division play but still winless on the season.

Head Coach Ryan Benton pointed to couple of other conferences that also have a great deal of parity in one or both divisions.
"It's just crazy when you look at say, the Horizon; the Drawk and Chromatik schools are at five wins or more but their other division the leader is 3-4. Mancodas in the Zephyr is in the same position we are, 3 up with 3 left. The Celestia beating each other up as usual. Just so much unpredictability so far. I tell the guys every week that we can't be complacent and I always have some example of a name team getting beat."

4:30 a.m.
Stade St. Croix
St. Croix, Quebec and Shingoryeo

Three-all. Final play of the drive.

The Northern Moravica Cougars and the St. Croix Bleu et Blanc were drawn perfectly into the final-play scenario at the Stade St. Croix.

It was by no means an easy game - both coaches McKendry and Kabuye have expressed their disappointments on the pre-match press conference about the decision to arrange the match in late night hours, and they have made this quite well known. In addition to scheduling the match this late, which fell right into primetime Banijan television at ten in the evening running into two in the morning, there was an additional fury that was generated when NSCF's refused to grant both institution's request to postpone or at least delay the game to Sunday when they have found out that due to a mechanical issue, the Stade St. Croix's roof, which was left open the previous night, would not be fixed for a week. This would mean that there would be an open-roof match in middle of a snowstorm that nobody's going to take blame for or delay.

In any case, the match went on and boy, what a defensive masterclass it was. Grinding to every down and yard, both teams played a conventional, smashmouth game both have made their bread and butter known for, and while Ayange and Boulouque-Milliken have broken hundred yards play, both the starting quarterbacks knew best not to risk an interception or throwing far into a wideout who might slip and/or lose a step and leave themselves open to an easy turnover.

Three hours later, close to the end of a three-hour game that was already delayed by an hour and half due to the crazy snowstorm striking the open roof of the Stade St. Croix, the Bleu et Blanc were on the Northern Moravica 40. Starting from a slow but progressive five-minute drive that had consisted mostly of the rush, St. Croix had a 4th and 3 at the NMU 40 yard line. Not much Ghislain Boulouque-Milliken had to do as a quarterback, and with the weather being so difficult for a quarterback and the floor slippery, the best he could do is to throw quick passes for short-yard gains or just hand the ball off. God friggin time.

'Do you think we could give a quick pass?' asked Hannah McKendry into the headset, hoping that her new offensive coordinator, Oh Hyeon-Ji, would give an answer. 'We have twenty seconds left in the clock and could likely wear out the clock and go for the field goal again. Nobody's fucking scored points since the first half of the first quarter.'

'Negative, we need to give this a shot,' was the answer that Oh gave back to Hannah from the coach's box. In all fairness, this was a reasonable guess. It would be a risky business for Bleu et Blanc, even more so because in case they fail to gain, they would turn over the ball and NMU would have chance to throw a mid-range ball and find themselves in a shooting range. And while the chances for a game-winning field goal wasn't that high for either school, it sounded like a better idea to at least give the first try than to hopefully hold on for a drive that may not exactly work out. Especially not with how slow the personnel changes can be in middle of a snowy field.

'Okay, fuck it,' she answered, before shouting to the players and the special teams coach by giving a circular motion to suggest it's time to bring in the special teams. 'We'll be kicking it! KICKING UNIT!' This Midnight Madness, one that's also going to be known as the Snowstorm in April game in the eyes of those abroad, was going to come down to the field goal attempt. 4-and-3, 57-yard field goal attempt in low altitude with visiblity issues. Nevermind the fact that it's a 4:30 in the morning - one more hour and the Joongyeong metro would be back to full service, ready to welcome the fans in a rather unusual rush for this early hour.

Now it was time for Rodney Maher, slightly chubby kicker studying mathematics and physics at none other than Trinity College, to make a kick. When coach McKendry looked at him, she would notice how the sophomore just grinned with his brown moustache fully on display. He's ready, Hannah noticed, the head coach having also served as longtime Special Teams coordinator to understand his state of mind. The kick is going to be 57 yards, so you make it and will set a history. If blocked or just short on the endzone, it's going to be alright as well - not enough time on the clock for much more to be done even if Northern Moravica would.

It was a fairly straightforward kick. You could hear the long snapper shout '1...2...3..' from some distance away before drawing a snap, and with a minor false start from their special teams huddle left uncalled for, Maher had a straightforward path to the kick. Make it...make it...make it... thought McKendry, as she watched Maher kick it much higher than an usual kicking motion. The seconds turned into minutes and then hours at that moment, she thought so at least, but once the time unfroze and the ball barely went into the end zone, everything went into life again as the next thing would remember were the crowd rushing into the stadium, the players celebrating into the air and past Lance Kabuye, who had noticed the false start by the Bleu et Blanc kicking team but was unable to lodge complaint....

State of the Savannah- After Loyola and NMU both suffer losses in Quebec, divisional play returns with a trip to Busukuma on the line for everybody

ISTRIA, MORAVICA- Both Banijan schools, ultimately, will be happy with cross-divisional play- going 3-1 in the cross-division play is no joke. But both finished this portion with rough losses in Quebec- Northern Moravica losing in the dead of night on the road against USC, while Loyola got boatraced by a quality Saguenay team. With both EVU and Ratzupalfu earning quality road wins against, admittedly, low quality opponents (Hankow State and Bel-Hes State are a combined 0-12 when not playign each other this season), this has served to tighten the race here in the Savannah Division. And we're going to give the state of the race- while Loyola-Istria are still the big favorites, both Northern Moravica and... Elephant Valley retain legitimate paths to that divisional crown.

Loyola-Istria.
Record: 5-2. Odds to win the Savannah: -195

The Blue Thunder, despite a rough, 19 point road loss against Saguenay, sit at 5-2- one game in first place. Why is that? That vaunted home field advantage, when the Istria Lightning Yard was the most feared place to play in all of college football, is back. They're sitting at 3-0 at home this year, with both of their losses on the road- an away loss to Saguenay here in Week 7, and a loss in a rainstorm against Ratzupalfu in Week 2. You're up one game on the rest of the division, and the next two are at home... Things are looking good.

What's the difference for them so far? Besides, of course, having Vavayavich as their QB. But the biggest difference is their week 1 win over Elephant Valley. They smacked around the Red Elephants at their stadium to open the season, and if that result flips... It's EVU sitting in first place after 7 weeks. That's what makes the Week 8 return trip so interesting. A Loyola win would turn this division into what it traditionally has been- a two horse race. But an EVU upset W against Loyola? That would put the Red Elephants into first place- and invite chaos for the final two weeks of conference play...

Northern Moravica.
Record: 4-3. Odds to win the Savannah: +225

It's tough to be a Cougar right now, right? You would have wanted them to win at least 5 games, when their first 5 of the season were all in Banija, including four at home. Alas, that is not what happened- home losses in Week 2 against Elephant Valley (a rivalry game no less), followed by a bitter Week 3 away loss against Loyola, really loom large for the boys up north in red. Sitting a game back in the division with three games back is not necessarily a death sentence, on its own. But the schedule sort of makes it one. They just need to be in the running for the last North v. South Showdown- but that's unlikely.

Do they control their own destiny? Yes. But that destiny is complicated. They are two games into a 4 game road game stretch, their next one coming away against Ratzupalfu. There's nothing more Celestia than having your best season in a generation destroyed by a rainstorm at the Jungledrom. While this is not NMU's best season in a generation, they know what it's like to have a season ruined by the Egrets. Banijan oddsmakers only have NMU as 2.5 point favorites in week 8- so NMU winning two road games in a row, in South Newlandia, would be an extremely unlikely proposition.

Elephant Valley.
Record: 4-3. Odds to win the Savannah: +355

Of course, they have the same record as NMU. But, EVU continues to struggle to gain respect among Banijan oddsmaker, even if Banijan fans and coaches always talk about the threats that the South Newlandian schools can cause. EVU's porous record against NMU, in particular, makes their perception worse than it is. But, honestly, they've got as decent of a chance as anyone to catch up to Loyola. They control their own destiny- they win out, and they get to go to the Celestia Conference Championship Game.

They can't really complain how things have gone so far. A 4 point home loss against Saguenay looming large- but they can look past that. They're holding onto both of their major Celestia rivalries right now- but yet, they have a difficult task ahead of them. They have a very difficult trip to Loyola, a school that's already wacked them on their own field. But even Zervos says to forget about that result. "Week 1 was a super long time ago- that has no bearing on this Week 8 matchup. We'll prepare, and we'll go after it."

IF they can get an upset W at the Istria Lightning Yard... Could that possibly make them the favorites to win the Savannah??

Also, sorry Ratzupalfu- sitting at 3-4, at this point, it's simply not there for them to win the division. That at-large playoff spot is still wide open for the taking though!

Finally, something goes right in the world.

The Trent State Faethercaps were not looking forward to hosting the UCBP Warriors in the state they found themselves in, but the Homecoming crowd were here and that atmosphere certainly changed things. Lionel Blackwood only managed 1 TD the entire game through Maurice Carlson while our efforts through Jason Steels were more concerted, as he found Catherine Alcaraz-Cortéz twice for 2 scores while Eleonora "Firefeet" Scafakou went 1/2 on PATs. Long ago, this field storm may've been seen as unacceptable...but considering everything, TSU earned this one.

The Green City Royal Eagles, on the other hand, balled out against the Royal Naval Academy and Alisha Obi Michel was key in that regard, firing home 8 TDs in a spectacular showing of what might've been.

This season's already over for us, so this joy will be taken as it is.

(BBS) Linhart's Gamble 1/2

Postby Drawkland » Tue Sep 12, 2023 11:58 am

The work of a college football coach is never over. During the heat of the season, your attention is focused on gameplanning, team management, and ensuring your squad gets what it needs to win every weekend. On top of all that, you have to work on recruiting the players who will define your future 2-5 years in the future. Rest for even a moment, and your rivals could get the upper hand. At the very least, you know that in the offseason you have a little time to relax as you prepare for the coming grind.

If you're a coach for a majority of NSCF teams, you don't even receive that luxury. While some nations allow their NSCF colleges to eschew their domestic season in favor of the international circuit, others use the NSCF as spring or early summer football to further develop the team and keep fan interest throughout the year. For the Drawkian NSCF schools, they deal with the latter challenge.

While most college coaches in Drawkland were enjoying their summer, scouting out potential recruits on their own schedule and putting together the coming season's gameplan at a leisurely pace, Cavsar's Scott Linhart was balls deep in the NSCF grind, trying to find a way to somehow beat Felswyr State in the conference race while also doing all the things that the domestic season would require in a couple short months. One of those things, of course, was scouting out new talent to recruit, and deciding which ones would be best fits for the program.

Scott Linhart had received the reputation of being an excellent recruiter. His first job as a college head coach came at North Point University. The Beacons, as they were called, were a terrible program in need of a turnaround. In five years, Linhart turned them into runaway winners of the Nautilus Conference. Though they could never win the Union League and gain passage to Drawkland’s college football championship playoff, they went from being jokes to being one of the best programs on the east coast. This was thanks to Linhart’s personal touch to recruiting, one that convinced prospects to play under his wing rather than more prestigious locations.

When Cavsar University needed a turnaround, they looked at North Point and said “that’s what we need.” Linhart was still not a proven name. After all, he turned around a team in a mediocre conference and never really won anything important. Is that really what you want from a coach? Regardless, the Gladiators needed a guy like that. They’d bottomed out the D-10 Conference for eight years in a row, fired two coaches, and had become a general laughing stock. To be honest, Cavsar was never really a force to be reckoned with, but the athletic department was tired of their football team being an embarrassment. At the very least, maybe Linhart could build a better team culture before they jettison him for a guy that can win more big games.

Linhart jumped at the chance, of course. Cavsar, despite their failures, had a loyal and diehard fanbase that so desperately wanted a taste of success. Plus, Cavsar’s location in Iarocav’s territory had a wealth of skilled recruits, compared to the more rural and less sports-obsessed southeast where North Point was located. If he could turn around Cavsar of all programs, it would look amazing on his resume. So, Linhart packed up and got to work on the outer reaches of the Maldhar River Valley.

Somehow, he did it again. In four years, Cavsar were competing for a conference championship. In five, they’d won it. In six, they’d lost out on the Ordinal League title on a last-minute field goal by Ducentu State. In seven, they were competing for the national championship. They never won, but it was an insane turnaround that revitalized the fanbase and put Cavsar back on the map. Of course, fans of stalwarts like Sadeg State weren’t affording the Gladiators any respect, seeing them as flash-in-the-pan flukes who would fall off the cliff at any moment.

That is, until DISC came knocking. They wanted to add a second team to Drawkland’s NSCF entry, and Cavsar seemed like a nice testing site. DISC had learned their lesson with selecting big name colleges to the NSCF slate. Drawk Corps University was the most feared school in DOCA, Drawkland’s collegiate league, for decades. Then they went to the NSCF, got their shit kicked in on repeat, and the entire program fell to shit, even domestically. DISC were afraid of cursing another strong franchise, so they dropped Corps U and decided on a riskier pick, Sadeg State. The Skyhawks were a huge basketball school, but their football team was relatively mediocre until a couple seasons prior when they hired Brand Manlio, who turned them into contenders. The football improvement plus big performances in the NSCAA by State’s basketball team convinced DISC that it was the right move. After all, if they sucked in the NSCF, who cares? Their football team wasn’t good until a half-decade ago anyway.

This move turned out to be genius. Sadeg State almost immediately became a force in the NSCF, making the playoffs in their first season behind Dustin Beck’s arm and legs. One season, they already outplayed Corps U, who never made the playoffs and usually didn’t even get a bowl invitation. So, with the plan to add another school, DISC figured Cavsar was a solid choice for similar reasons. If they sucked, no big deal, because nobody outside of the 70 miles of boring nothingness surrounding the town cared about them. If they got good, that’s fine, because it would create another revenue-building brand for Drawkland’s sports industry to profit from.

When some coaches would shy away from the pressure, Scott Linhart invited the challenge. He figured this would be his only shot to play in such a prestigious tournament, and if the team did well, it would be a unique mark on his resume that nobody besides Brand Manlio could claim equal. Playing in NSCF’s Horizon Conference was much harder than Cavsar’s domestic conference, the D-10, but the Gladiators still drove their way to a Pioneer Bowl win in their first season.

Bowl games wouldn’t cut it, though. Cavsar needed to succeed in a big way, or else their spot in the NSCF would vanish. Linhart finally got that breakthrough campaign, receiving an at-large bid to the NSCF playoffs in season 26 and nearly missing out on making the championship game (fuck Green City, by the way). The seat got a little less hot, and though Cavsar had a horrendous showing in NSCF 28, Sadeg State also sucked ass, so both teams seemed to get a free pass.

The NSCF 26 run paid multiple dividends. Not only did it give Linhart some needed job security (he earned a contract extension following that season), it also gave him the edge he needed to land Logan Oakley, who was Drawkland’s #1 QB recruit. This was the quarterback of the future, one who could secure Cavsar’s greatness for a few seasons in the future. Oakley had seemed a little rough around the edges when he first started in NSCF 27, but he was in the middle of an awful QB battle where nobody could’ve possibly prospered. Robin Sterling, the Ranorian castoff, was the experienced senior, but he sucked. Darian Lewis, a Dagan recruit, never really put things together in game action. Oakley was in his first year, having never taken snaps at the college level. He ended up getting some playing time at the end of the season, but the NSCF world is tough. NSCF 28 wasn’t much better, but again, both schools sucked. The Chromatik schools just had their number that season.

Now though, NSCF 28 seemed to be the breakout year. Cavsar beat Staramara Tech and Sadeg State in the first three games of the season, though they couldn’t come away with a win against Felswyr State. They were the only team to lose against the Equinox Division thanks to a last-minute home upset against KUTC, but they still stood just a game behind FSU with two to play and a potentially deciding match against them coming up. Through all of that, the sophomore Oakley had been leading the charge with his arm and excellent receiver chemistry.

Oakley wouldn’t be around forever, though. He would have two more seasons under center for the Gladiators before going on to make a gajillion dollars (probably) in the GLD. In the pipeline, Linhart had QBs Dick Vico and Kevin Sajak. Both were decent, but decent doesn’t cut it in the NSCF. Unless you’re Lane Proudfoot and ascend to godhood for about a month, but you can’t count on that. Linhart needed a big name. He needed somebody who could take the reins from Oakley, make the team theirs, leave an impact that could surely carry Cavsar to the promised land and take away another one of Sadeg State’s dwindling bragging rights.

Scott Linhart needed Brooklyn Beck.

Another Jungledrom incident spoils Cougars season

Everyone knows the Jungledrom is a tough place to play at. The Blue Thunder certainly found that out the hard way earlier in the season, and Banijan teams are not the only ones that have struggled here more often than not. The week eight win over NMU improved the Egrets’ record here to seventeen and seven, including eight and two against Banijan schools specifically.
Those two losses were both inflicted by the Cougars, who defeated the Egrets here in the last two seasons; 23-20 in week eight two years ago, and 26-13 in the season opener last season. No other school has ever won as the road team in the Jungledrom in consecutive seasons. Levi Ayange did not play in those games herself, but in an all-Banijan QB battle, both of the two had been to the Jungledrom multiple times before.
For the 3-4 Egrets and 4-3 Cougars, this matchup was critical, as a loss would put the Cougars mostly out of the running for the Savannah, while the Egrets would see their playoff hopes prematurely ended with a loss.
It was a typical Jungledrom game, with both offenses figuratively and literally stuck in the mud for most of the first half. Despite no more rain falling during the game, it had been pouring for most of the night and morning, so the field was in pretty dire condition. The turf recorded its first sack of the game during a first-quarter dropback of Kasozi Wampona, with the sophomore losing his footing in a mud puddle to give Kang Joseph the easiest sack of his career and Wampona a very messed up jersey early on.
In the Blue Thunder Jungledrom game, the Egrets were able to dominate offensively because the Blue Thunder defense simply matched up poorly. That was not the case here, with the mostly Chromatik defense front six able to mostly keep Ragnar Sampson and Maximillian Marie from running all over them. On the other side, Amira Kong and Balinda Kisero were able to make things difficult for the Egrets defense, and the Egrets were very lucky to not allow a touchdown. The Cougars helped out with a trio of first-half turnovers, as the Egrets took a 7-0 lead on a Wampona play-action pass to Sandra Hillock.
In the second half, the Egrets received the ball first, and were able to consistently move the ball downfield for the first and only time all game. Ragnar Sampson collected the majority of his 10+ yard carries on this drive, and punctuated it with a 3-yard touchdown run to put the Egrets up 13-0. A shanked PAT by Aaditri-Teresa Prasad-Ahamad meant that it remained a 13-point game.
The Cougars answered back strong, with Ayange completing a pass to Tyler Geese for 48 yards, the longest gain all game for either side. Later, Ayange found Geese again for the touchdown, making it a six-point game with a quarter and change to play.
Both offenses turned back into pumpkins, and that ended up being the final points of the game. With two minutes on the clock, Ayange had one last chance to lead a game-winning touchdown drive, but the Cougars sputtered out after entering field goal range. On fourth and twelve, Geese could not come down with a pass on the sideline, and the Egrets were able to put the game on ice.

South Newlandian recruits – Part 1

#12 Recruit
Right End – Mihir Meyer
Mark Friednan High School, Ratzupalfu
Despite not being the main star on the Mark Friednan defense, Meyer was the sack leader for the second-best defense in the Big Seven. Despite not having the biggest size profile, Meyer has learned to rush the quarterback with a surprisingly deep move-set for a High School player, and in doing so, has rapidly improved his pressure count throughout his high school career. His best game of the last season came in week three, when he managed to cash in with a trio of sacks, one of which forced a fumble. He is also a usable run defender, but pass rush is undeniably his strength. The biggest question for him is his relatively low ceiling – without elite physical tools, his upside will always be limited.
Academically, Meyer has been above average, and he’s most likely to pursue a journalism career. He’s always done well in structure, and doesn’t pull too much attention to himself, but he’ll be a consistent worker in the background. Being from Ratzupalfu, he’s also proven to be able to excel even in poor conditions.

#11 Recruit
Outside Linebacker – Randy Anderson
Eastern Tip, Newport
Anderson was seen as one of the best prospects from South Newlandia entering High School, but during his playing career with Eastern Tip, things haven’t always gone exactly right. In the 4-3 front of Eastern Tip, Anderson always struggled when asked to drop into coverage, as he repeatedly just could not keep pace with receivers. Where Anderson excels is at crashing down, and he led his team (that featured multiple other top defensive recruits) in TFL’s in his junior season. His strength also include getting to the Quarterback on designed blitzes, and he’s a sure-handed tackler with good hands.
Unfortunately, Anderson missed most of the season after sustaining a damaged meniscus early in the season. His recovery seems to have gone well, but he missed almost the entire trainwreck season by Eastern Tip, especially on the defensive end. With a limited upside and the injury, Anderson has been written off by many; but the elite tools he showed early in his High School career should still be in there, somewhere.
Academically, Anderson used his football-free time to graduate with excellent marks, and he’s looking for a Maths-related college degree, most likely Statistics.

#10 Recruit
Free Safety - Johnny Robinson
Eastern Tip, Newport
The undersized long-time teammate of Anderson was one of few bright spots for the season of Eastern Tip, one in which they allowed more points than any other Big Seven team. Robinson wasn’t the culprit often, though, as he remained a sure-handed tackler. He’s also been good at recognising plays, and likes to go for interceptions more often that Coaches like to see. In his first three years in High School, this worked out for him more often that not, including a game-winning pick six as a junior. In his senior year, however, the coin landed on the other side, with Robinson only making one interception that he proceeded to fumble right back.
Nevertheless, he’s a good safety who’d going to be flying all over the field, and will likely also be useful on special teams.
Robinson was never a great student, but managed to remain college eligible; he’s likely going to be majoring in sports management or a similar field. He’s lived on the coast his entire life, and he’s hoping to remain somewhere close to the ocean in college.

#9 Recruit
Punter - Tom Knight
Elephant Valley Southwest High School
Easily the best punter in the Big Seven, Knight handily beat his competition in all relevant punting statistics. For Southwest High, this often came in handy, with a fairly mediocre offense. Punters rarely produce highlights, but Knight impacted the scoreboard more than once. Southwest managed two safeties in his senior year, both set up by punts pinning the opposition inside the five. Other than that, Knight is a no-nonsense strong leg that you won’t hear many complaints from; and he’s also been very sure-handed holding field goals for the team.
Knight also stood out as one of the best students on his team, and he’s likely to pursue a law degree in college, with hopes to become a defense attorney after his playing days are over.

A rainy evening

César and Jasmely in NSCF 28, I really like this one you should read it

César Del Rey clacked aimlessly on his computer. "I hate macrochemistry," he muttered. On his screen, an incomprehensible mess of bonded polymers.

Suddenly, a gray-clad cannonball leapt onto the couch beside him. Jasmely Díaz grabbed his arm and leaned on his shoulder.

"Jasmely how do you have so much energy."

Jasmely shrugged. "I'm just excited to see you."

César shook his head and looked out the window to hide a little smile.

"I'm trying to work."

"Oh. Mmkay."

"Seriously."

"No, no. I believe you." Jasmely slouched down and pulled out her phone.

César clacked some more but he wasn't focusing. With a loud sigh, he looked at Jasmely again.

"Oh am I distracting you."

They sat in a comfortable silence together for a while.

"Hey. Jasmely."

"Yeah?"

"I have a problem. A little bit."

"Uh oh."

"You know, uh...Donald Jäger?"

"I have no idea who that is."

"He's one of my fullbacks."

"Nope."

"He's in ΧΔΘ."

Her eyes widened.

"No way that's what made you realize who Donald Jäger is," César grunted. César hated frats, and he resented Jasmely's involvement with them. She pretended not to notice that.

"I think I know who you're talking about. Like, kinda skinny, blond hair..."

"Yeah."

"He transferred from somewhere out near Moab..."

"Donald Jäger."

Jasmely shrugged. "He seems nice."

César, as the quarterback and a captain, felt that it was against his position to think ill of a player. But he didn't love Donald Jäger.

"He's a lot."

"Like how Sandy Correa is a lot?"

"He's very smart. Which makes him scary, because he has a chip on his shoulder. I think it's because of his transfer. He had some incident? I didn't look into it, I don't care. But in his world, his story is already written out. And any one of us who, like, messes it up, he doesn't take kindly to. I don't know."

"Aw, I love it when you psychoanalyze."

"I don't know what I should do. A lot of people on the team..."

"César, how many people have talked to you about this."

"Several."

"What did they ask you to do?"

"Talk with him."

"Then why is your moping ass on this couch complaining about Donald Jäger to me?"

"Um..."

"There's one way to solve the Donald Jäger problem."

"Yeah."

"Anyway."

The two of them sat in silence again, watching the rain through the floor-to-ceiling window. The best part of their relationship was their ability to sit still together.

"How was that one weird professor's class—"

"Dr. Paniagua?"

"Yeah," César laughed. "The fish guy."

Jasmely rolled her eyes. "Do you know what we dissected yesterday?" She threw her hands in the air. "This fish from, like, the deep sea. Its body needs the pressure to maintain its composition. So when they collected it, its body—" she looked a little squeamish "—it—imploded—it was a mess of goo. Goo. Oozing pus goo. It was horrible. It was actually horrible. I spend an hour and a half wiggling my fingers in a goo sac." She curled in a ball and leaned on César for comfort.

More silence.

"César guess fucking what." Jasmely's head snapped up. "Guess who Sandy Correa—"

"Oh he was at that party—"

"He was at the ΧΔΘ party!"

"Yeah, he told me."

"Isn't he a teacher now?"

"He's a substitute at a Catholic School in SJB. And a football coach, go figure."

"Not the direction I expected he'd go."

"Yeah. Okay, anyway."

"Oh, right. Guess who he got back up with."

César started but—

"Bianca Pinto!" She shouted before César could say anything else.

"Oh no."

"Yep."

"That's a bad situation for both of them."

Jasmely threw her hands in the air. "I tried to tell her."

She smiled and shook her head. César by now had totally given up on macrochemistry. Jasmely scrolled through social media stretched out across the couch, but César sat ramrod straight staring out the window.

"Jasmely," he said after a while.

"Mm-hm."

"Sweetie. Um." Deep breath. "Were you..." Why was he scared? "At that, uh...that little party thing?"

Jasmely looked at him. After an uncomfortably long while:

"Yes, I was."

"Nice." This silence was uncomfortable now. Good job César.

"Why."

"Oh, I dunno. No reason."

"César."

"Forget I asked, I was just curious."

"César."

"What? No I was just curious. No reason. Forget I asked."

Jasmely sat up, still looking at her boyfriend. César smiled at her, then quickly stared out the window again.

And there they sat.

7: Daniel Cainan
Rouyoutte, Ranoria

Guard
Size: 6'4", 285 lb
Handedness: R
Attributes: Large, driven, also large
Other sports: Powerlifting
Archetype: Run Blocker

Out of one of the coldest areas in the country, but also one of the most wealthy, Cainan grew up in wealth and winter - he'd probably prefer to keep the cold part at least. Playing for the Grand High School of Rouyoutte Monarchs, he traveled to warm-weather cities for some high profile games in high school, including a game against Ranoria City Cathedral as a junior where he held Julian Anneliese sackless on four pass blocking attempts - admittedly their positions made those matchups sparse, but it's worth noting.

Grades were stellar in a ridiculously demanding Rouyoute school system, he graduated with an associate's degree from the University of Rouyoutte through connected programs. Wants to major in business- not like the usual, it's more of he wants to take over his father's near-billion-dollar corporation...but only after he's done racking up "a dozen or so championships", his words. Not ours. Recruiting priority is going to a championship contender, secondary priority of colder weather. Probably projects closer to 320-340 after filling out his frame.

A Blustery Day:
Governors Who Apparently Didn't Feel Like Working Overtime Limit Runtime To 2 Hours and 45 Minutes

Image
Rylan Rodgers Jr carried the ball 27 times as the Governors got in and out of Sea Dome as quickly as possible

So first of all, 102 snaps combined is plenty, and for all of you who are saying that two hours and forty five minutes is an embarrassingly short amount of time for a gridiron football game, I'd actually argue it's perfectly adequate, or maybe average is the right word. And the length of the game doesn't even really matter, it's more about the quality of the football being played. Hell, maybe some people even prefer a shorter game. Players aren't as sore after and all that.

Ahem - now that that's settled.

Richardson came into this one with a pretty clear game plan - after their demolition of High City earlier in the season, they went even more conservative on offense, passing the ball just five times, all on short gains as they worked to get in and get out as quicky as possible. Throw in heavy winds, which perhaps shouldn't be too surprising at that altitude in a stadium and gusts, and passing the ball was almost impossible.

"Not about putting our players at risk," said Kasen Harrowitz, "I've talked to plenty of architects and thinks are different over there, but they're not too certain about those high altitude stadiums, as incredible as they are."

The game plan was pretty unsurprising in a vacuum - ride the running backs to victory as usual - it was just taken to a much greater extreme. Not once did the Governors snap the ball with more than ten seconds on the play clock when the game clock was running, and Rylan Rodgers Jr. logged a season high 27 carries for 131 yards and a pair of scores, breaking a thousand yards rushing on the season and getting up to 14 rushing touchdowns.

A big chunk of that came on the opening drive when he broke loose from the 41 yard line. When linebacker Chayt Teramine plugged up the A gap initially on a dive play, he stopped, using what momentum he had built up to stiff arm Teramine into the dirt and using that momentum to help propel himself outside rather than try to jump over the defender. Defensive lineman Curious Green had been on the edge, and got a shot at him, but that was all - Rylan went from full-speed to the boundary to an inside juke as fast as most people could blink, and no one had a good angle on him after that.

From there, no one was close enough to capitalize on their pursuit angles and the Governors would take a six nothing lead...although it should be noted Rylan started slowing his gallop down at the five yard line to stop just after crossing the plane - he was taking no chances.

Believe it or not, Jin Hayamoshi then missed his first PAT of the season - big gusts happen when you're over five thousand feet in the air - and the ball boy, tracking the miffed kick, watched the ball and made a beeline for it, never seeing the boundary of the stadium and falling straight over. Ranorian broadcast crews went viral in their panic afterwards, but the Sea Dome's counterparts seemed pretty unbothered - so either this kind of thing is normal or their super medicine will take care of it. Fingers crossed?

"The Stingrays' athletic director informed me that he survived," claimed Richardson athletic director Isaac Benjamin, "Additional safety measures will be in place next time we're out there, but rest assured we've taken precautionary measures. We take the safety of our student athlete body seriously."

With the Governors largely controlling the ball, Benjamin Merik logged a second most totes of the season with 20 for 84 yards and Isaiah Hunter even took it on designed runs 5 times for another 17. While perhaps not their most exciting performance - especially with the Stingrays picking up pretty quickly on their game plan - it was a gritty win as Richardson continues to pray that Cold Hill will give them a chance at the Everless crown.

"Always glad to win," Rylan Rodgers Jr said after the game, "Nothing worth writing home or storming the field over, but it gets us closer to our goal of winning an NSCF championship."

Kasozi Batte continues to dominate as Viktor Rowles puts up the best game of his career...so far

Beyond a shadow of a doubt, Viktor Rowles has proven that he's the future of this program - they're not going to take a step back when he takes the reigns next season, and for now, he's at least earned one more start. With The Buffalo still running at full steam, there's no reason to risk a further injury to Benoit Youngblood - not when your Chromatik former top recruit racks up a career-best 457 passing yards and four scores in an absolute bloodbath of a game.

As much as he's leaned on Kasozi Batte in his starts, Rowles looked settled in in this one, immedietely dialing up an explosive freshman in Vanorian Heine Stølan on the second play. From the 29, Stølan snagged a deep post on a beautiful route, just having to slow down a half pace to reel it in, and sliced through the defense, cutting to the outside and torching the rest of the secondary en route to his first career touchdown - finally. After raking in 24 balls for 351 yards throughout the season, it was about time. And he wouldn't stop there, grabbing another six catches for a season-best seven receptions and 174 yards on the day, looking absolutely untouchable and increasing his career receiving yards by almost fifty percent in one brilliant showing.

With Stølan capitalizing off the attention paid to Batte and torching the Snipers deep, Enox Silverman was the man in the red zone. Rowles found his fellow Chromatik six times for another hundred yards and hit him three times on three red zone targets, scoring twice. And while Kasozi Batte did the rest of the work in the receiving game with a score of his own, the "continue to dominate" bit was actually in reference to how insane it was that this was his worst game of the season, production wise. With a season low seven receptions for 95 yards - the first time he's been under the century mark - that's still a pretty good day, and it was very pedestrian by his standards, just putting into perspective how insane the Banijan phenom has been in an already 1,000+ yard junior campaign.

"Viktor has earned the right to stay on the field," said Chris Dale, "Benoit could go play right now, and of course he wants to, but my job first and foremost is to take care of my players. We've won the division at this point, and I want him healthy going into the conference championship game."

Jays slip to Redbirds; playoffs now out of reach

Concluding week 8 of the NSCF, UC-Prairie lost to Alexandroupolis 27-39, and playoffs are by all means out of the question, having the Jays sitting at a 3-5 record. While not technically out of the playoffs yet, due to the 3 wildcard spots, they can still reasonably be counted out, having their best possible record in the best case scenario at 8-5 while including non-conference games.

While having a sub-par record, the Jays still have had a great season so far, and at this pace, it will continue to be one that next year can be built off very easily. Being 0-4 against their own division, the Boreal, (yes, really 0-4 against their own division), the Jays still have the most points for in the division, and are 6 behind first in the whole conference. This is a very good sign, which means the offense is very explosive. The problem that was isolated, was a shaky defense.

The Jays are second for points allowed in the conference, only behind Royal Naval Academy's legendary 357 points let up, an entire 140 point difference. Now that we know the main area of concern is the defense, coaching staff can more accurately target problems, and can hopefully have a more explosive team next season.

2061 SEASON - OFFSEASON PROSPECT LIST (1)

Hello all! It's now May, and with most A-Level/HSC/Baccalaureat examinations having ended back in April, most student-athletes have also had time to start deciding on the collegiate admissions.

While most of the gridiron prospects have finished committing to their respective schools, with domestic programs being their preferred inclinations, this does not mean that there aren't those without ambition. If anything, we have five interested athletes who would be open to give themselves a trial at an overseas program and see how their runs abroad, or at Saguenay or St. Croix would turn out. Now, with that said, why don't we check out some of these prospects in three installations?

#5 RB Dara Williams-Simakan -- Walton Comprehensive HS, Walton

5'10", 198 lb - 4.25 40-yard Dash

35 years have passed since the legendary Dexter Ahn, the five-time Imperial Bowl winner, 6 time QFL MVP, and two-time Hector Kweon winner, have played in his hometown Walton Comprehensive HS. Since then Walton has won two state titles (all in AA class out of four classifications used in Yoseo-Manitoba province) but no particular achievements, until Williams-Simakan arrived at the school. In her four years with the school Walton Warriors have won three state titles with an additional semifinals appearance her junior year, and her championship game performance as a graduating senior, where she recorded 312 yards and 5 touchdowns in 26 touches, indicate rough calibre of the talent she is.

As for the actual player herself, Williams-Simakan is what the Quebecois collegiate coaches call '2E' - elusive and efficient. Running 4.25 40-yard dash is one thing, sure, but she does not waste her steps and prefers to think ahead in terms of coverage. Solid rate of broken tackles and good reception rates also suggest a player with great awareness and soft hands, something that the Quebecois backs have not exactly been known internationally. One downside that we might have in this otherwise dynamic player is her pass block ability - she needs to be coached up on that area, and her lack of size doesn't exactly help on that department either. But she is worth the gamble on every other aspect of the game, and with a 4.2 GPA with her sights on studying civil engineering, options stand to be plenty.

#4 OG/C Marwin Clark Finlayson -- Veronaville HS, Songak

6'8, 312 lb - 5.01 40-yard Dash

Son of a Saguenay Fighting Irish and Songak Giants' Hall of Fame left tackle Bo Levi Finlayson, Marwin knows all about how to play and protected. Having watched his father play, and him visiting the Giants' clubhouse on various occasions as a child, Finlayson has grown up playing both offensive and defensive line on an affluent, suburban high school on southwestern Songak where he developed a solid reputation with 'Marauding Finlayson' as nickname to his prowess. After four years there, which have seen the VHS win two Songak AAAA class titles over some of the classical favourites such as ES-Leopold-Bourassa or Lycee-Koreana, Finlayson's has had multiple college-level coaches put him as a future national team and all-pro potential material and is looking to give himself a shot at a major program abroad.

Marwin Finlayson is considered a ready, failsafe prospect for offensive line. Unlike his father, Marwin plays mostly on the interior offensive line - he prefers to play guard but has also shown himself to be a decent centre when presented. Considered highly athletic relative to his size (has played Judo and Wrestling on competitive level too), he's still considered a run protector than pass protector for most part, but has more than enough size to at least slow down an opposing defensive tackle in case there's a blitzing scheme. Good read of opposite defence, and performs well academically at 4.3 GPA. Plans to attend law school after undergraduate degree, with eventual goals to become a barrister after hopeful pro career.
