Welcome to the seventh edition of Anaia’s regional association football championship. The CAFA Cup is Anaia’s Regional Championship for Association Football. It is open only to nations in the Anaia Region, provided that they remain a member of the region for the duration of this competition, and that they also do not sign up for any other regional association football cup.

To sign up for the CAFA Cup, please post in this thread with your roster information.
Sign-ups without a roster will not be accepted, and posting placeholders (i.e. “reserved for roster information”) will be looked at poorly.
If you are posting a roster, it is also recommended to include an RP permissions box. An example of this can be found in the spoiler below:

Puppet Entries:
If a user signs up with a nation that entered the previous CAFA, they may enter up to two nations, provided they were both in the Anaia region at the time that this post was created and remain for the duration of the tournament. In their signup/roster post, users must indicate their second nation -- typically called a puppet -- as such. Undeclared puppets who do not comply with this rule may have all nations associated with their user removed from the tournament.

Host Bids:
Host bids are encouraged to be posted in this thread. In order to host the tournament, you must be signed up to participate. Prospective hosts should indicate their plans for format, scorinator, RP Bonus, tiebreakers, and any other elements as needed. Approved hosts will take over all operation of the tournament from the CAFA account for the edition they are voted to host, including determining signup deadlines and overall schedule.
The deadline for host bids shall be 72 hours after the first host bid posted by someone who has also submitted a roster, or one week from the time of this post, whichever is later.
The entry deadline shall be set by the host, but shall be no sooner than August 19th 2023 at 20:00 UTC.

Current CAFA Rankings:
The current CAFA rankings are available here.

Please do not post in this thread if you are not a member of the Anaia region or a moderator performing their duties. Otherwise, your post will be considered spam, and may bring moderator action.

SEMARLAND NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM, OFFICIAL CAFA CUP 7 SQUAD

NATIONAL STADIUM - Natunolstadion, Jansberg, 86,000

Kits kindly manufactured by VUCTI Kits

Back again. After twelve years away, the SFA are proud to present Semarland's return to the multiverse and what better way to kick it off with a double-bill of tournaments. As fans across the country know, preparations will begin with the Brevity Cup before their debut in the CAFA Cup - an exciting time indeed! The SFA have selected Cortell Carrasco as the man to lead Semarland forward, and fans await tentatively to see whether he can bring his club success to the international stage. For what it's worth, Semarland have been away from all forms of international competition for the past 12 (IC) years now. A long time, and it is more than fair to say the levels and standards as such have decreased during that period of time. The 23 players you see below are the best of the best in the league no doubt - but bear in mind the lack of international competition, both from IFCF entry and foreign players competing for places, the league is not what it used to be. The SFA are aware, the fans are aware, and the players and staff themselves are aware. Hopes aren't high, but they're bound to have fun and enjoy themselves as they look to make their mark again on the international stage, and maybe exceed what heights they once had many years ago. Without further ado, let's look at the team:

STAFF:
Manager: Cortell Carrasco, 63
Plucked from Sporting Saint Adrensburg by the SFA, Cortell Carrasco has been one of the league's most successful managers over the last twelve years. With just the one league title to his name, some may think he wasn't the best choice, but his long-term transformation of SSA has been truly remarkable. One for long-term results rather than short-term, it's fair to say the SFA don't have the highest of hopes as Semarland make their return to international football. Entering the Brevity Cup as a warm-up just before the CAFA, at the time of writing, we're yet to see Carrasco's Semarland play as a team just yet with the tournament expected to kick off in the coming days. That, the CAFA and the next World Cup are the first steps though in a new age (how many times have we said that now...) and millions of fans will be hoping the SFA avoid any more administrative cock-ups and Semarland can try and get where they used to be (getting knocked out at the group stage of the World Cup!) - maybe they'll get one better and make the Round of 16. One day. Anyway. Back to Carrasco - a talented tactical mind who happens to be a close friend of his predecessor Kadell Stevens who reportedly nominated him for the job. Expect attractive football - not as high-pace as Stevens, but still nice enough to watch with a focus on defence as much as attack, a nice balance. Oh, and he's brought his entire SSA backroom with him as well, so if someone's going to enjoy this, it's the SSA fans...

Assistant manager: Devonte Northfield, 47
SSA legend who never really got to make his mark for Semarland internationally - Devonte Northfield was quite unlucky given he was actually half-decent as a player and he had a lot of talent ahead of him. But he made his mark for his club, which led to him getting a job as coach within the youth team - and you know the story. He rose through the staffing ranks the same way he did in the playing ranks and wound up assistant manager to Carrasco after the retirement of his previous assistant Martin Etienne. Developing his tactical mind through Carrasco's mentorship, many were hoping he'd take up the reigns at SSA rather than join the rest of the backroom team, he didn't want to pass up the opportunity to represent his country in the dugout.

First team coaches: Marcos Sevenoaks, 45 and Cyrone Eastwood, 37
Two players (also SSA legends, if you notice the recurring theme) who did get to make their mark for Semarland internationally. Marcos Sevenoaks was a powerful winger with a thunderous left boot and Cyrone Eastwood was a midfielder who was one of those midfielders who did the job and made things tick without everyone else really clocking what they were doing, but being aware...if that makes sense? Anyway, they're not bad coaches - not as good as they were players, mind, but Carrasco trusts them enough to come with him to the big stage. They might not have as much tactical input as Northfield does, but we're sure they'll throw a piece of advice in or too. Their experience as regular-ish internationals, something that Carrasco and Northfield lack, will come in handy too, especially considering none of these players have pulled on the Semarland shirt before.

Goalkeeping coach: Devane Marylebone, 51
The last of the legends (God, anyone would think the SFA were raging SSA ultras or something...) and like Sevenoaks & Eastwood, a pretty decent player for club and country. Might have been too old for the league title win, he played his part as goalkeeping coach and had earned his name in SSA legacy as a player beforehand anyway. We could write loads more waffle about his abilities as a goalkeeping coach, but we won't bore you - he does his job well and will no doubt pass on his experience well.

Fitness coach: Boscoe Baywood, 60
Physio: Maxwell Eirsen, 42
Okay, we can't really call these guys "legends", they never even played professionally, let alone for Semarland. Or SSA for that matter? Unless the 5-a-side league counts. But in seriousness they're good at their job. SSA rarely struggled with injuries during Carrasco's time as manager, and that was thanks to the training regimes and medcial attention of Boscoe Baywood and Maxwell Eirsen respectively. Hopefully Semarland won't struggle with injuries like they used to way back when. We might allow ourselves to get our hopes up...

PLAYERS:
#1 - GK - Matthias Baxter - Age 33 - FC Nuholm
A safe pair of hands, Matthias Baxter has been a regular fixture week in week out between the posts at Nuholm for the best part of thirteen years now. A solid shot stopper with a knack for saving penalties, his distribution isn't what it used to be and he feels he's in the twilight of his playing career. Nonetheless, he's ready to give his all for the shirt and pass on his guidance to the two younger goalkeepers that join him in the squad. Whilst like everyone else, he has zero experience of international football - he's one of the most experienced players in the Premarligaen so that's got to count for something. Earmarked as a future goalkeeping coach for club and maybe country.

#2 - DR - Karl Kvist - Age 24 - Krsthaven
A dependable and well-liked member of the squad, Karl Kvist is a terrier-like full-back who is resilient uncompromising in the tackle. Released by FC Nuholm at a young age, he bounced back by ended up moving to Krsthaven aged 18 and worked in the postal sector for a year whilst playing part-time in the lower leagues for East Krsthaven United before earning a trial at Krsthaven. Breaking through into the first-team four years ago, he made his way to vice-captain and earned both the fans and players' player of the year award two years in a row. Has great positional sense and can also fill in at defensive midfield if required.

#3 - DL - Andre Driscoll-Glennon - Age 26 - FC Kolberg
The sole representation from FC Kolberg in the squad, Andre Driscoll-Glennon was converted into a left-back from a left-winger seven years ago and hasn't looked back. Capable of making surging, driving runs forward but a bit rough in the tackle sometimes, he has worked extremely hard to recover after a nasty injury two years ago. His performances in the league show why he's earned the #3 shirt for the national team, and he is a beloved and a consistent member of a Kolberg squad that many see as far from the team they used to be, which has put him on the radar of bigger and better clubs in the division.

#4 - DC - Gael Larsen - Age 25 - Krsthaven
The other half of the right half of Krsthaven's defence, Gael Larsen's commanding performances at the back for Krsthaven earned the interest of several other Premarligaen clubs, but the boyhood Krsthaven fan has stayed loyal and played a key part in their title-winning campaign. Assured on the ball with a good eye for a pass, he's the type of "modern-day" centre-back that looks to start attacking plays from inside his own half, whilst remaining fearless in the tackle. He can get a little bit too fearless though, and was no stranger to a yellow card last season.

#5 - DC - Shone Andrews - Age 34 - Eikborg Club (c)
The most experienced in the team, Shone Andrews broke through into Eikborg Club's side at a young age and was on standby for the national team last time they entered the AOCAF all those years ago. Able to play in a back two or three on either side, he is a natural leader and the perfect candidate to lead the country back into their return to international competitions. It's expected that after the next World Cup cycle he'll retire or at least take on a bit-part playing role as other centre-backs are nurtured into the side, but having him around the team is a huge bonus and no doubt he will pass on vital experience to the youngsters. Still got it at age 34, many Premarligaen attackers found him difficult to get past last season.

#6 - DMC - Rameses Kristoffersen - Age 24 - Molsbik Arkjet
Younger brother of one of the greatest (if not the best) players to never get the chance to wear the national team shirt in Saxon Kristoffersen, Rameses is a player of a similar vein to his older brother. The young Molsbik Arkjet captain has been dictating the play from defensive midfield for the last eight seasons but is another who has struggled with injuries of late. On his day, he is the jewel in the proverbial midfield crown, but if he's not feeling himself, he'll go missing. Should he work on his confidence and not let the fear of injury get in the way, he'll be a regular fixture for years to come - he definitely has the ability based on his club displays.

#7 - AMR - Kyrone Paris - Age 25 - Sporting Saint Adrensburg
Although not the fastest winger of all time, Kyrone Paris is the type to twist and turn his way past opposition defences with comfortable ease. SSA's star player for the last few years now, fans have been kept on the edge of their seats by his displays. With a high number of chances created, he was unlucky that SSA didn't quite have the season they deserved to on paper and it's rumoured he may be tempted by a move away. If he can add goals to his game on a consistent basis, he'll become even more a threat to opposition defences and a key member of the team.

#8 - MC - Jamal Barker - Age 25 - Krsthaven (vc)
Beloved Krsthaven captain Jamal Barker was whisked away from FC York as a 14 year old and worked his way up through the academy, making his debut at 17 and being a fixture in the team ever since, earning the captaincy three years later. With a heart of a lion, he never stops running on the pitch and he's the type to cover every blade of grass or die trying. The true definition of a box-to-box midfielder with a penchant for arriving in the box late and firing home, he was the highest scoring midfielder in the Premarligaen last season and his goals played a huge part in Krsthaven's title winning campaign last season.

#9 - ST - Loick Sorensen - Age 25 - FC Jansberg
Top scorer in the league last season, Loick Sorensen was incredibly unlucky to not lead FC Jansberg to the title as they missed out by just a thread. For years now, FC Jansberg have been waiting for a proven striker who has risen through the academy after the likes of Marc Lygaard and Kwame Nelson - and now Sorensen seems to be that player. Always at the top end of the goalscoring charts, fans are sure he's the complete, one-in-a-generation forward to lead the line and it's not just the Jansberg supporters who are excited to see him on the field.

#10 - AMC - Chevone Clarke - Age 23 - FC Nuholm
Diminutive playmaker who created the most chances in the Premarligaen last season, Chevone Clarke is another highly sought after individual. Everyone knows he'd cause serious damage in a team like Krsthaven or FC Jansberg who have a proven finisher, but unfortunately for Nuholm their rotation of strikers didn't offer the same calibre of firepower as Clarke's new international teammates. He has played with Loick Sorensen before when he was loaned out to FC Nuholm five years ago and they impressed then, so those that remember will be looking forward to see the two on the pitch again.

#11 - AML - D'Jean Hamilton - Age 22 - FC Jansberg
Younger half-brother of former FC Jansberg and Semarland winger Tyae, D'Jean Hamilton is similar to him in terms of temperament, playing style and ability - just on the opposite flank. A real livewire, Hamilton is known to test the patience of his managers sometimes but always gets back in the good book with his performances on the pitch. Still only quite young at 22, if he focuses and knuckles down he will no doubt go onto be one of the country's greatest players. In a similar playing mould to that of Clarke and Paris, the front three will be a joy to watch with flair reminiscent of the "good old days".

#12 - GK - Russell Boakye-Yiadom - Age 20 - FC Jansberg
The relations continue - meet Russell Boakye-Yiadom, son of former national team and FC Jansberg goalkeeper Kojo and the youngest goalkeeper in the Premarligaen last season - and for 2nd place FC Jansberg too. An athletic, acrobatic custodian very much in the mould of his dad, he's surprisingly nimble for someone of his height and boasts a very long and accurate throw. Very much one for the future, he'll hope to learn from the likes of Matthias Baxter and has his eyes firmly rooted on the #1 shirt for future. For now, he'll hope to kick on and get some playing time this tournament, and hopefully help FC Jansberg win the league next year.

#13 - GK - Gaetano Jorgensen - Age 26 - Kangemark Sport
Popular and lively member of the squad who was one of the Premarligaen's best goalkeepers last season, Gaetano Jorgensen was a key component in a Kangemark Sport side that finished 7th place in the league. Boasts accurate distribution from both long throws and goal kicks, and can command his defense well. Despite the fact he may not see much that game time ahead of both Baxter and Boakye-Yiadom, Semarland would be hard pressed to find a better third choice options in case things went south in the goalkeeping department.

#14 - MC - Lyrone Eastwood - Age 27 - Sporting Saint Adrensburg
Only the second player that Cortell Carrasco brings with him from Sporting Saint Adrensburg, club captain Lyrone Eastwood is literally a carbon copy of his older brother Cyrone (a member of the last Semarland team that took part in international competition). Tall, powerful and does just about everything you want a midfielder to do, he may not stand out as much on the pitch as his peers but he certainly gets the job done without much fuss and fanfare. A reliable member of the squad who may not necessarily be a key member on the pitch as much as he'd like, but a great person to have in the dressing room.

#15 - ST - Johan Larsen - Age 29 - Eikborg Club
A target man if there ever was one, Johan Larsen is the sort of man you'd want your crosses to end up on. A threat in the box from set pieces, the 6'6 Larsen scored a record number of headed goals for Eikborg Club last season. He's not bad at holding the ball up either, but he'll be the first to admit his style of play isn't the sort that would generally go with Cortell Carrasco's style of play. Nevertheless, he'll be itching to get on from the bench should things get awry and a change-up be needed, and no doubt he'll be willing to play in a front two with either one of Sorensen or Christie.

#16 - ST - Gennaro Christie - Age 26 - Krsthaven
Gennaro "Mr. Suave" Christie is living the dream. Literally. When he's not scoring goals for fun for Krsthaven, taking part in the neck-and-neck competition for top goalscorer with his friendly rival Loick Sorensen of FC Jansberg, he also manages to find the time for a music career as well? We're not sure if he'll have as much time for that now Semarland are back and ready to make their claim in Anaian international football...but we're sure that he's the most likely to gain attention for his off the pitch exploits as well as his performances on it. A talented and dependable goalscorer who will no doubt be able to fill in for Sorensen if required.

#17 - DMC - Byron Mandanda - Age 20 - FC Jansberg
One of the younger members of the squad, Byron Mandanda has been a non-stop battling man of steel in the FC Jansberg midfield for the last three years. Less experience than the rest of the midfielders perhaps, but if you'd never seen him play before, you wouldn't think it. Still rough around the edges in fairness, he's far from the finished article - but many predict he'll be set to be a fixture of the midfield for years to come internationally. For now he's just looking forward to gaining the experience, and his always-positive attitude will help him just do that.

#18 - DC - Kortney Delaware - Age 21 - Eikborg Club
Another for the future, Kortney Delaware has come on leaps and bounds over the last few years and it's easy to see why, having spent time learning from club legend Shone Andrews (plus former past generation heroes such as Kadeem Bailey-Foster and Courtney Simms). Mature beyond his years with a cool head in the most difficult situations, he will no doubt take the captaincy for his club upon Andrews' retirement, and with the likes of Boakye-Yiadom, Mandanda & Melbourne, many see him as a long-term prospect who will be a member of the team for years to come.

#19 - DR - Tyrique Ritchie - Age 25 - FC Jansberg
Frighteningly fast wing-back Tyrique Ritchie is the final member of the FC Jansberg squad to earn a call up. Probably the fastest player on the team, his attacking tendencies and general wing-back play make him more likely to be an option off the bench should the team need a bit more going forward. Excels when it comes to crossing and has the strength to get past players, but comes second to Karl Kvist when it comes to the defensive side - only just.

#20 - AMC - Hakim Masters - Age 26 - Eikborg Club
Boasting a low-centre of gravity, a knack of scoring from free kicks and the ability to slalom his way past defenders, to the untrained eye Hakim Masters would find himself unlucky to be beaten to the #10 shirt. For those not an expert on Semar domestic football however, he only has one season's worth of experience of top flight football. Signed from 2Ligaen's BT Klub at the beginning of last season, he impressed for someone with no prior top flight experience and goes into the 2050/51 campaign as one of they key players for Eric Nti-Bonso's side. Not quite nailed his consistency just yet, he was a bit of a shock inclusion but the ability is definitely there. To be used as a bit of a wildcard option off the bench.

#21 - DL - Ecuador Sorensen - Age 23 - FC Nuholm
Smooth on the ball, strong in the tackle, and the gameplaying intelligence of a creative #10 to match, Ecuador Sorensen is a delightful option to have at full back. Going into the tournament with a knock sustained at the end of last season, if fully fit he'd probably have the #3 shirt over Andre Driscoll-Glennon, and he will be relishing the challenge to work hard and claim the starting spot as his own. Not as fast as the average full-back, you're more likely to see him cutting into midfield and playing a delightful through-ball than running down the wing and getting crosses in the box.

#22 - DC - Pascal Melbourne - Age 22 - FC Nuholm
Another young talent emerging out of the FC Nuholm academy, Pascal Melbourne boasts a similar style of play to his left-sided partner Ecuador Sorensen. With the ability to bring the ball out of defence with such confidence that you'd expect from a seasoned player, it's hard to believe Melbourne is only 22. Strong in physique and assured on the ball, he has been a fan favourite at FC Nuholm for a while now with his commanding, marshall-like displays endearing him to many. Reminds the fans of former Nuholm and Semarland captain Martell Chalobah and it's easy to see why on the pitch.

#23 - MC - Johan Chevron - Age 25 - Krsthaven
Despite his slight frame, Johan Chevron is a neat and tidy midfielder who keeps things ticking over. A smooth passer of the ball who makes things happen, he led the assist charts for Krsthaven last season and is a wonderful compliment to his club midfield partner Jamal Barker's more energetic approach. On the sidelines for now due to a slight knock, he will have tough competition upon his return in the likes of Kristoffersen and Mandanda to partner his club teammate in midfield on the international stage.

Stadium Assignments
Aminey, Aminey - Stade sur la Baie (70000) - home to Aminey CS (and the Aminey Caspians, Aminey Buffaloes, and Aminey Owls).
The flagship stadium, huge production values, the works.

Schemerdrecht, Intermare - Orange Bowl (54000) - home to Schemerdrecht SVV (and the Schemerdrecht Admirals).
More associated perhaps with the Admirals than the SVV, but it's nearly always sold out venue for great crowds in any sport.

Maethoru, KCT - Rikalathen Arena (39000) - home to Maethoru SC (and Mayara Wanderers-Vulpecula).
Close to the KFA's training grounds, at least it has that going for it. Crowds aren't great here.

Étouille, Cote Austral - Stade Amandine (30000) - home to Tanques AOE (and the Etouille Vultures).
Some amazing drone shots over a stadium, a city, and a crowd that knows what makes life fun.

Santa Teresa, Finisterre - Estádio Fortaleza (29000) - home to Miradela GD (and the Santa Teresa Sabres).
Made to be exactly 1000 seats larger than their rivals' stadium, the Fortaleza is the upper-class stadium.
OR
Santa Teresa, Finisterre - Estádio Marítimo (28000) - home to Branvon CD.
The working class stadium that is, in all facets, a bit inferior to the Fortaleza. Except the crowds. There's no better stadium for wild crowds.

Maynard, Leeshire - Armskirk Municipal Ground (26000) - home to Maynard AFC.
The unlucky Maynard team have asked the KFA to have their stadium used by the national team - as the only southwestern stadium.

Katashi, Katashi - Suzumebachi Stadium (25000) - home to Katashi-Kanatsu.
The biggest stadium in the east, Katashi deserves a game. The fans will mostly just cheer for the Yoshiman players, though.

Greencaster, Surbourneshire - Golhampton Grounds (25000) - home to Sydberg Olympia.
Greencaster never had a big football culture, but that's changed, and the local Olympia have kept pace with the hype. Biggest city in the country, too.

Aevanna, Aerellen - Northern Arena (32000) - home to university team 'Aevanna Ecologiske Universitet'.
The KFA wants some games geographically spread across the country, and so the cold, dark, and cold gridiron Northern Arena is on the list.

Alara, Alara - Spider Stadium (27100) - home to Advance Alara.
Eastern but not on the island Katashi's on. Fans are used to seeing a lot of goals - which the Dragonflies don't do.

Straudum, Sudaefjoll - Hazel Arena (25400) - home to Straudum VV.
Biggest stadium in the northeast, as far as the mainland goes. Straudum's style matches the NT's style perfectly. Propped up by the massive (rich) IT sector.

Eaglebury, WSR - Uriagali Field (18000) - home to WSR AFC and Pride of Eaglebury.
Biggest/only stadium on the west coast. Eaglebury has an amazing, flourishing sports culture and it's no longer completely ignored by the other 99% of the country.

1 GK Edou Bittencourt (KOR, 31) - Miradela GD, a martyr, strong, playmaker
11 GK Carl Malmstroom (KOR, 29) - Tanques AOE, a fanatical, compact, debater
21 GK Semelau (f) Odholthen (KOR, 16) - Gehrenna FC, a friendly, towering, workhorse

The Lele era so far doesn't mean much for the goalies. Bittencourt is the concensus number one and there's little that can be criticised about that. We're sure that Manguele likes the added passing capabilities as well, much more than Malmstroom's. Odholthen is a strange pick but the CAFA is where we trial these kinds of things anyway.

Image
No big changes for the defence. Five players at the back (with slightly differing roles and freedoms).

2 LB Sujimbee Haggigana (KOR, 21) - Maethoru SC, a businesslike, bony, captain
12 RB Raudhjan Ekaregnau (KOR, 22) - Katashi-Kanatsu, a considerate, towering, artist
22 LB Persephone (f) Rowley (KOR, 23) - Sydberg Olympia, a unassuming, skinny, genius

You're not looking at this wrong - this is the rightback position. Beyond the almost retired, there's a lot of imperfect options. Haggigana could win this battle on the short term, though he's the embodiment of the old regime - boring, predictable, but oh so defensively stable. Ekaregnau and his Kanatsu ways are much more fitted to the possession game that we think Manguele will play, while Rowley is the underdog of the group with an unpredictable streak.

3 CB Harmon Mulvahil (KOR, 29) - Osarese Marcadia, AUD, a good, staunch, aggressor
13 CB Keiki Todaka (KOR, 17) - Katashi-Kanatsu, a sleazy, short, man marker
4 CB Charley Mellowby (KOR, 19) - Maynard AFC, a aggressive, petite, box-to-box player
5 CB Aoremis Aelea (KOR, 26) - Holdenberg, EUR, a loud, fit, tackler
14 CB Egesa Aedil (KOR, 21) - Tanques AOE, a polite, muscular, wall
15 CB Abi Lavaud (KOR, 26) - Damogran, SRS, a idiosyncratic, fast, dissenter
23 CB Gonshiro Furuya (KOR, 25) - Katashi-Kanatsu, a faithful, tiny, gladiator

Mulvahil, Mellowby, and Aelea are the primary starters. Mulvahil is easily the first name on the team sheet, emerging as the best defender in Ko-oren. Always suspected of flying off the handle, he never gelled under Davenport, but his aggressive side comes in handy with new leadership. Mellowby is alright on the ball but excellent at drifting upfield whenever an extra body is needed. Aelea is just really boisterous and, like Mulvahil, easily tackles. Todaka and Aedil are options for the future, quite standard defenders. Lavaud and Furuya are over-my-dead-body defenders that will liven up our back line with a slightly different philosophy.

6 LB Emi (f) van Kalvenhaar (KOR, 30) - Urrheddiao, CMT, a active, bulky, all-rounder
16 LB Kaneyoshi Kaji (KOR, 21) - Katashi-Kanatsu, a dense, petite, mercenary
26 LB Ryōsei Nagatomo (KOR, 20) - Katashi Azula, a sarcastic, towering, dissenter

You can't ignore Van Kalvenhaar, now entering her 10th year as a starter. Kaji is the heir apparent, Nagatomo a pretender to the throne. Is it just me or is everyone recognising that there are four Kanatsu defenders and one Azula defender versus no Straudumites, Schemerdrechters, Bruncesters or Cirelburnians?

Image
HUGE changes for the midfield. They will have to do a lot for the passing/possession-based buildup (and keeping the ball away from the opponents), with more help from the defence drifting upfield. Nearly every combination of players will result in a slightly different block: wide or narrow, long direct passes or short one-two passes. No matter what, they will line up extremely asymetrically.

7 DM Abraham Torre (KOR, 21) - Miradela GD, a subservient, slim, professional
17 DM Orinosuke Uozumi (KOR, 24) - Katashi-Kanatsu, a circumspect, trim, aggressor

For what it's worth: the defensive midfielders. It only means they're usually closer to the defence than the rest. Usually... rarely. At least it's where they line up for their clubs.

8 RM Ciriaco Laza (KOR, 21) - Miradela GD, a cruel, compact, showman
18 LM Nanko Wormstal (KOR, 31) - Metropolis Alligators, VLD, a noncompetitive, heavy, wall
28 RM Zornim Turaulthen (KOR, 28) - Eivora Athletic FC, TKT, a rebellious, trim, trickster
27 RM Swini yLlwteis (KOR, 16) - Sydberg Olympia, a discreet, thin, tactician
29 LM Shutel Tehinnau (KOR, 21) - Maethoru SC, a political, tiny, captain

Here's your random assortment of wingers. Crosses into our lone striker, long winding dribbling adventures, maybe even the odd shot from distance swaying into row six of the upper tier. Laza tends to go it alone - which works out for Miradela very well - and Wormstal, never having had a lot of opportunities to play for the Dragonflies, tends to stick closer to the action. Turaulthen shows off skills, yLlwteis was born a decade too late, his skills better fitting the Juliasterinthen/Davenport system, and Tehinnau is a bit of a blank slate as of yet.

9 CM Purelbusak Entatingun (KOR, 24) - Maethoru SC, a noncompetitive, heavy, mercenary
X CM Geomraff yCinrhadd (KOR, 29) - Rogerton Rebels FC, DAR, a loving, stocky, architect
19 CM Ryobe Takagaki (KOR, 24) - Katashi-Kanatsu, a evasive, pudgy, creator
1X CM Hixinio Andrade (KOR, 17) - Miradela GD, a helpful, hard-hitting, free kick specialist

And that's your central mids - perfect passing placement and positioning required. Well, not so much the latter these days. They should be at their best in small spaces, putting teammates in the right position to go for goal... or, usually, to find space so more minutes tick down. Entatingun and yCinrhadd are a perfect duo, Entatingun the career Maethorian and a slippery guy, yCinrhadd the veteran journeyman who has seen the world and everything in it, not shying away from contact but usually setting up others for success. Takagaki is the standard Kanatsu player (making that 6 Kanatsu players so far!) with his gaze forward. Andrade is a bit all over the place in terms of strengths but he'll figure it out, he's only 17.

2X AM Teiichi Tsuchimoto (KOR, 21) - Katashi-Kanatsu, a mean, quick, debater
24 AM Rachel (f) Walbuck (KOR, 23) - Tanques AOE, a fearless, toned, workhorse

Without Aoriene, at least for a bit, what remains are two fine role-players but not absolute stars. Oh look, another Kanatsu player... are the top 4 too full of foreign players to get their Ko-orenites selected, or what? Walbuck is a great assister and will dive into most situations without hesitation.

Image
= ST Aurin Aomelirea (KOR, 27) - Revolutionaries, EUR, a opportunistic, bulky, man marker
1= SS Hurorinul Bonstirthinden (KOR, 28) - Aminey CS, a inhibited, gigantic, glass cannon
2= ST Maran Lignanier (KOR, 24) - Advance Alara, a obsessive, nimble, daredevil
25 ST Loren Lemaigre (KOR, 25) - CSKA Quebec, QUE, a helpful, nimble, shadow
30 SS Nunstaurilin Joljaurinden (KOR, 29) - Maethoru SC, a modern, fit, interceptor

A mix of strikers for the one position they fill up front. Aomelirea, Lignanier, and Lemaigre are used to being mostly used as target men, with Aomelirea playing close to defenders, Lignanier charging into them, and Lemaigre lurking in the open spaces between. Bonstirthinden and Joljaurinden are much like attacking midfielders: Bonstirthinden has a mean shot from distance while Joljaurinden has more vision and is more spacially minded.

We play post-football, a term coined during World Cup 89 to put words to a horrible semifinal between Audioslavia and the Dragonflies, which ended 0-0 after 120 minutes, then all but one penalty was scored in the ensuing series. Post-football means no singing. No cheering. No scoring. Post-football is sideways passes, looking like the same, repetitive movements for minutes on end, but with tiny variations that at some point will get to you. It could be a counterattack, or a shot from distance, or a set piece. Post-football doesn't care if it takes 90 or 120 minutes, or more. Under Juliasterinthen and Davenport, the Ko-orenites earned a reputation as the perfectly positioned, tactical-yet-mean defensive team. Containing, capitalising, exploiting. Patience and countering.

Under Lele Manguele, an era that started just before CAFA 7 in cycle 94, we're breaking with traditions. Still targeted at preventing goals, the team instead tries to retain possession for as long as possible, in small, compact spaces, merging relationism with tenacious defence, for what that's worth and to what extent that's possible. Relations between individual players are now more important than retaining perfect structure. That means that the midfield will forgo most of their roles, and that the defence will break the line to help the passing game.

Image
Numbers 1 to = typically start (but not always, feel free to choose your starters). That's 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, X, and =.
Numbers 1-1= are typically selected as starters or subs (but not always, feel free to select some 23+-ers as subs or starters).
Numbers 20 and over are mostly there as emergency replacements, but can be part of the squad for some games. These are almost always younger players with a lot of promise.

The Aleirave Football Association
Baptism of Fire LXXVIII Champions
Roster for CAFA Cup VII
Image

OOC: All players in blue are ethnically Klysevian, all players in red are native Aleiravan.

The island nation of Aleirave is a rather small one, with a population of barely 50 thousand, located by a sea they know as the Retakono Me'a, or the sea of mystery. The only islands that were anywhere near them seemed to sink under the sea a couple years back, leaving them as the most isolated nation in the region of Anaia.

The nation of Aleirave was originally founded by Fyodor Tereyev, who was a puteshestvennik (or "traveller") from Klysevia, about 350 years ago. His descendants ruled the island up until the year 2023, when Alexandr Tereyev was shot and killed by a lone gunman in a peaceful protest. Since then, the island has been ruled as an Special Administrative Unit of Eshialand, effectively acting as its own democratic nation within a nation.

2027 was a year of all time, that's for sure. Aleirave found themselves unable to advance past the group stage in CAFA VI, and Haulafo took the liberty to sack himself as manager after their terrible results.

Ivan Shakarov was a good manager for a time, and it looked like he could've gotten them their covered first qualification... but nope. Things began to fall apart, and despite Haulafo retaking the reigns around the halfway point, it wasn't enough, and the Seagulls got themselves 4th.

Speaking of 4th, there's an interesting pattern in this team's CAFA results, isn't there? GS exit, 4th, GS exit, 4th, GS exit... perhaps it's time for them to shoot for 4th again? Let's see what Haulafo can cook up this time...

Nickname: the Seagulls
Trigram: ALR

First international: Audioslavia 4-0 Aleirave (CAFA II)
First win: Aleirave 6-3 Space Laser Dinosaur Robot Pirate Land (CAFA III)
Best win: Aleirave 6-0 Unpleasant (BoF LXXVIII)
Worst loss: Audioslavia 4-0 Aleirave (CAFA II)
Most goals for: Aleirave 7–2 The Cannaland Islands (WCQ XCIII)
Most goals against: Audioslavia 4-0 Aleirave (CAFA II), Eraman 4–4 Aleirave (WCQ XCIII)
Highest-scoring match: Aleirave 6-3 Space Laser Dinosaur Robot Pirate Land (CAFA III), Caribbia 3-6 Aleirave (BoF LXXVIII), Aleirave 7–2 The Cannaland Islands (WCQ XCIII)

Coach: Haulafo PAKA'ULA (M, 57)
Given the political situation in Aleirave, Coach Paka'ula was not supposed to form this team. His grand scheme when he decided to craft this team was to show that natives could be just as good at football as the Klysevians, and that the two could work together in an international competition. President Tereyev flatly denied Haulafo's request to start the team, so he did what any normal person would do and assembled the team anyway.

THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF ESTORVIPA AND ESTORPIVA
NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM

The Federal Republic of Estorvipa and Estorpiva is a federal union between two states, the Federation of Estorvipa and the Republic of Estorpiva, created on 22 November 2019 after the two states agreed to unite together and present a combined front against the other rebel sides in the Estorian Civil War. The Federal Republic is backed by the Democratic People's Republic of the United Socialist States of Pridnestrovia (or just Pridnestrovia for short), which was an ally of the old Estorvipan People's Republic before it collapsed into numerous competing factions and states, and Pridnestrovia decided that the Federal Republic was the most stable nation-state that they could support in this war. But despite being backed by a "socialist" nation and adopting some socialist imagery, the Federal Republic is a democratic republic with free and fair elections for the 27 million people under its governance, and its ultimate aim is to reunite the Vipan and Pivan lands peacefully, but if the Federal Republic must use force to restore peace and order in the land then it will certainly do so.

BASIC INFORMATION
Name of nation: Federal Republic of Estorvipa and Estorpiva
Demonym: Estorian
Team colors: Yellow. blue, and red
Style modifier: -2.00
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Head coach: Branislav Vinogradovsky (64 y/o, male, Pridnestrovia)

STARTERS
GK: Sashka VIDANOVA 36 y/o, female, FK Spartak Rybolovlev (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
She's just setting the Federal Top League alight with the number of crazy save highlights she produces game by game. She's pretty much a younger female version of Fiodor Enin with the way she stops shots and rushes at opposing forwards, and she is expected to alternate games with Enin after Traian Pantilimon has played his one and only game for the Federal Republic.

RB: Aleksey KHOKHLOV 26 y/o, male, FK Traktor St. Paulsburg (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
Adequate defender, good pace

RCB: Dencho TIMNEV 30 y/o, male, Ufa Verkhovyansk (Pridnestrovia)
He's an excellent defender by any means, capable of either helping play the ball out of the back or keeping up with those fast and tricky forwards trying to bear down on the Estorian goal. His only downside is that he is nowhere near as good in the air as he is on the ground which, for someone as tall as he is (at 177 cm) is a bit of a liability on the pitch.

LCB: Dzyamid USHKEVICH 30 y/o, male, Metallurgist Beledor (Pridnestrovia)
Under most circumstances, he wouldn't be able to make the national teams of most other nations, but given that the Federal Republic is in need of players to represent it on the international stage, Ushkevich has been given the chance to prove himself worthy of representing this new state to the rest of the world. He can defend, he can head the ball, and he can dribble his way out of a few sticky situations, but he's still a bit too raw to start a game in most cases.

LB: Holden KRASTENKOVIC 30 y/o, male, Exiles FK (Pridnestrovia)
Another Vipan refugee who fled to Pridnestrovia after the first withdrawal of Pridnestrovian troops from Estorian lands due to the Treaty of Kotelnirovo. He was originally from the northern city of Tarkovska, now the de facto capital of the Estorvipan Commune, and had made the arduous journey to the Pridnestrovian-occupied south on foot, evading Communard and Imperial military patrols in order to secure a ride to Pridnestrovia alongside other refugees and pro-leftist Vipans and Pivans seeking to flee the Estorian nation before the Communards enacted their anti-leftist purges. Despite having never picked up a football before in his life, he was recruited to Exiles FK, where he has surprisingly developed into an average defender with brilliant pace and average passing skills.

RM: Rahmatullo RODIN 31 y/o, male, Masyafspor (Pridnestrovia)
He is everything that Arseniy Davydov is: a brilliant playmaker with a keen eye for both his teammates and the goal who can also put in defensive shifts if needed. The only reason why Davydov is starting over Rodin is because Davydov is a more polished and complete player than Rodin right now, but now we know what Rodin could look like once he becomes the finished product. In the meantime, he will have to operate deeper in the midfield in order to develop the defensive side of his game, although given his age some might say that this is a case of trying to teach an old dog new tricks.

LM: Serafina POTRITSKIJ 32 y/o, female, Exiles FK (Pridnestrovia) (vice-captain)
Her main function in the midfield is to distribute the ball and take the occasional pot shot at goal if given the chance. She can run back and help in the defense if needed, but her primary function is to spread the ball around the pitch for the attacking Estorian players to latch onto and put the goal under threat. If the ball happens to end up right back on her feet during that sequence then she has license to fire a shot on target or pass to another teammate to start the cycle anew.

RW: ROBERTO Kunaplenko 30 y/o, male, Exiles FK (Pridnestrovia)
Twin brother of Roberta Kunaplenko. He is the son of the former Estorvipan ambassador to the Sultanate of Oontaz, Venyamin Kunaplenko, who fell in love with a local woman whom he would eventually marry. The Kunaplenkos had been living quietly in Rybolovlev when the Pridnestrovian intervention in the Estorian Civil War happened, and the family soon fell under suspicion because of good relations between the Sultanate of Oontaz and Pridnestrovia. The Kunaplenko family fled to Pridnestrovia alongside the first withdrawal of Pridnestrovian troops, and the twins were recruited to play for Exiles FK alongside other Vipan and Pivan refugees. He is a fast winger with incredible pace and outstanding technique but has a marked inability to cross the ball into the box. This is in contrast to his twin sister who is a faster winger and better crosser but can't escape out of a sticky situation.

CAM: Rada Mladenova KOSTOVA 32 y/o, female, CSK Armiya Supskij (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
She is a very good playmaker who can make things happen from the middle of the pitch. Her good passing and solid pace also means that she can put in a defensive shift if needed, but she is really more suited to orchestrating attacks on the opponent. However, the less said about her ability to put the ball into the back of the net, the better.

LW: ROBERTA Kunaplenko 30 y/o, female, Exiles FK (Pridnestrovia)
Twin sister of Roberto Kunaplenko. She is the daughter of the former Estorvipan ambassador to the Sultanate of Oontaz, Venyamin Kunaplenko, who fell in love with a local woman whom he would eventually marry. She is a very fast winger with outstanding pace and average playmaking ability but can't escape out of a sticky situation. This is in contrast to her twin brother who has incredible pace and outstanding technique but also a marked inability to cross the ball into the box.

ST: Fabian PRASUTAGUSIC 34 y/o, male, Exiles FK (Pridnestrovia)
He is pretty much the star player for this Estorian team. He personally refused to recognize any of the other warring factions in the Estorian Civil War as legitimate, and he was of the opinion that the northern Estorvipan Commune was nothing but a bunch of blood traitors willing to sell out themselves and their own country in exchange for favors from the Imperium. He was a product of CSKA Tiraspol's academy, and while he was nothing special in the Army Club, he had turned into a superstar striker once he moved to Exiles FK, and he looks to replicate this performance for the Estorian national team.

RESERVES
GK: Yaroslav SHCHETININ 29 y/o, male, FK Mamai Ihorovtsi (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
The future of the Estorian goalkeeping position looks very bright with him in between the sticks. He's already doing the job for Mamai Ihorovtsi, and local managers are praising him for his divine goalkeeping skills. His only weakness is that his passing is a bit poor, and opponents might be able to take advantage of that once he plays for the national team.

GK: Gleb PAROV 26 y/o, male, FK Traktor St. Paulsburg (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
An excellent keeper for his age and has loads of pace which allows him to charge out of his box to intimidate opposing strikers, but has poor stamina which means that he might start sticking around his area as the game goes on.

DF: Vasilisa BERDYUGINA 24 y/o, female, FK Spartak Rybolovlev (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
Weak defender, adequate passing

DF: Viktorija KESOVIJA 27 y/o, female, FK Mamai Ihorovtsi (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
She is a solid defender with adequate technique in her to help her get out of sticky situations when needed, and she is also a reasonable goalscoring threat during set pieces, or if she happens to get the ball somewhere outside the box in open play. However, she does have a weakness, and that is her pace. It's easy for her to get caught out of position sometimes, and because she knows that she can't get back in time, she will often resort to fouling the opposition instead.

DF: Markus KRASNENKO 33 y/o, male, Exiles FK (Pridnestrovia)
He is a Vipan refugee who used to live in St. Paulsburg and played for a semi-professional football side in the city before the Estorian Civil War. He was originally conscripted into the Estorvipan People's Army, but his regiment defected to Field Marshal Petar Antonic's Estorvipan Liberation Army near the beginning of the civil war. He surrendered to the Pridnestrovian Army after teh end of the Battle of St. Paulsburg and took advantage of the offer of asylum extended by the Pridnestrovians in the aftermath of the Treaty of Kotelnirovo. He was soon signed by Exiles FK where he made a name of himself as a good defender, but his pace and technique are definitely lacking compared to other defenders in the Pridnestrovian league system.

DF: Nicu Marian RĂILEANU 30 y/o, male, FK Spartak Rybolovlev (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
All the necessary elements for a solid and outstanding wingback are all there; all he really needs to do now is to gain experience in both club and international football and he's going to be playing under the colors of the Federal Republic of years to come. But until then, he will have to make do with some appearances from the bench.

MF: Ignjatije ATANACKOVIĆ 28 y/o, male, FK Traktor St. Paulsburg (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
He may be young but he's already got the makings of a very good central midfielder within him. He can make things happen from almost anywhere on the pitch, and he has the speed to both attack the goal and defend his own side if needed. If only he didn't get gassed so easily then maybe he could make a case for being included in the starting eleven more times than not.

MF: Kresimir TASIĆ 21 y/o, male, FC Cavaleri Urodorasul (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
Good playmaker, adequate technique, good passing

MF: Ashot RAZINSKIJ 26 y/o, male, CSK Armiya Supskij (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
The jack-of-all-trades had been placed on the left side because of his wicked good left foot. With that left foot he could pick out any player he wanted, dribble his way out of trouble, or even nick the ball off of anyone trying to get through to the Estorian goal on the left side, and even score the occasional goal.

FW: Viktoriya ZALUZHENKO 27 y/o, female, FC Foc Feuerstadt (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
At a young age, she's already making a name for herself in the small and nascent Federal Top League of the Federal Republic. She has the accuracy and the fancy footwork to set her up for a good future in football, but apart from those skills, she still needs to develop a lot more before she can start thinking about pursuing a starting spot.

FW: Marek LEMISH 30 y/o, male, FC Dinamo Durdenville (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
He's a very good striker; there's no denying that. But the problem is that Fabian Prasutagusic is even better than him, and there are also some things that Lemish will need to work on if he wishes to become a success in this Estorian team; things such as his stamina and passing. Other than that, he's actually a remarkably good player.

FW: Petru-Iustin UDEANU 26 y/o, male, FK Dinamo Durdenville (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
An average striker whose main job is to just be there to receive the ball and shoot at goal when it gets passed to him. He can dribble his way out of trouble if need be, but if he needs to spend more than a few seconds thinking about where to shoot then it's a guaranteed miss or save from the keeper once he finally pulls the trigger.

THE SEEKERS
Puppet to Lexandrija

The 'Evermark national football team', calling themselves the Seekers, have arrived at the CAFA determined to secure a result, which they consider a sacred duty. This is Evermark's first official tournament, though they are adamant in claiming that they, or at least their people, have previously won a World Cup. While some players have started to prove themselves abroad, they retain a determination to call up at least one player per 'Pride'.

Contact was made by an ethnography team from a number of universities. The result of their studies of the first Evermarker season, and a number of their customs, can be found here. The ethnography team have continued to operate as the Evermarkers' go-between with civilisation, and effectively sponsored their arrival in the CAFA.

The Seekers will take to the field in green shirts and black shorts, with an all-white change strip and an all-orange or all-indigo goalkeeper strip. While their kits and boots are rudimentary by modern standards, they are fairly functional.

Perilous Sapphire regards this as the last chance for the original generations to accomplish anything of note.

Evermark's opponents have permission to do anything short of a godmod.

STYLE: -2
FORMATION: 4-4-2
Image
Used to a permissive refereeing style in their homeland, Evermarkers play an unrelentingly physical and dirty style of play, regarding this as their most likely way of acquiring the sacred Result. Used to being on the receiving end of such play, their attacking combinations are very direct, often bypassing the midfield. Without exception, their players are strong and athletic, though lacking many sport science innovations integral to the modern game such as cryotherapy or doping. After defeat, they will fast the night in penance, which does carry the risk of a protracted losing streak; after victory, they drink themselves into a stupor, carrying its own risks.

Perilous Sapphire has at times come dangerously close to unorthodox thought, last CAFA often opting for a 4-4-2 where one of the 'strikers' was, to all intents and purposes, a midfielder. This will be tolerated only so long as it is successful.

MANAGER
Perilous Sapphire - Age 47
Sapphire earned her post after bringing unexpected glory to the Valiant. She respects the sport deeply and hopes to learn much from the tournament. She's already shown a dangerous instinct for innovation.

GOALKEEPERS
1 - GK - Thylacine Nemeth - Age 24 - Argus Wild Arms (EOT)
Nemeth played for some time as a left-back, but his conversion to goalkeeper late in his teenage years has been remarkably successful. Though an indifferent shot-stopper, his ability to surge off his line to throw opponents off is remarkable.

12 - GK - Merry Cassalei - Age 32 - Pristine
An avid feaster, drinker and boaster, Cassalei cuts a generous figure between the posts but lunges for the ball with a deceptive agility. There's a low-key ferocity behind those sleepy eyes. Easily the best goalkeeper in Evermark, but poor compared to much of the rest of the team.

20 - GK - Tricia Iron Gut - Age 22 - Diligent
A hard-nosed goalkeeper, whose greatest act of renown was to swallow a lethally venomous Cheap Divorce Snake whole. So far, it hasn't killed her.

DEFENDERS
2 - RB - Costil Weary Eyes - Age 31 - Creston Wolves (COR)
Carried an oddly world-weary look even at a young age. Costil hails from an ancient and honoured line of ferret-herds, so merely corralling wingers is child's play.

3 - LB - Languid Prisca - Age 20 - Paragon
An immensely promising player. Unrushed in all things, and calm even as raging fanatic Evermarkers rush her in possession, professional play should be an easy step up for her.

4 - CB - Gerhard Beacon - Age 36 - Paragon
Gerhard stands firm in defence and sets a good example to the rest of the team. He is appallingly slow, but the team's conservative low block should at least look to cover for this.

5 - CB - Seneca Creeksifter - Age 26 - Valiant
A wild thylacine attack has left Seneca with a slight but permanent limp. She will always be one of the slowest players on the pitch, but she overcame any fear her career in the Rites might be over thanks in part to her remarkable sense of anticipation and in part due to her propensity for full-throated violence.

16 - RB - Alyss Raincloud - Age 22 - Pristine
Annika is one of the few attack-minded fullbacks in Evermark, making up for her courageous forward runs by cynically fouling anyone who gets behind her.

18 - CB - Silent Matthis - Age 34 - Resplendent
Matthis lets his football do the talking. Or, at least, what he does on the pitch; one time, he bit a chunk of flesh off a man's calf. A respected man of honour.

22 - LB - Cutter Petrus - Age 25 - Erudite
Scruffy, wiry and lethal in close quarters, Petrus' trade as one of Evermark's finest hunters of stray thylacines has made him one of the peoples' sharpest and most badly-scarred players at the Rites.

24 - CB - Garnet Stephi - Age 26 - Watchful
Short for an Evermarker, let alone a centre-half, Stephi's success at the Rites is chiefly down to her willingness to wrestle people to the ground in a manner frowned upon by international refereeing standards.

MIDFIELDRS
6 - DM - Elena Oaktree - Age 32 - Resplendent
Slow and strong, as her honourific suggests, Elena has a languid grace in possession that livens up even the very physically focused, grinding and direct Rites.

8 - CM - Morgana Snakebite - Age 20 - Dauntless
It is unclear to the ethnography team whether Morgana has endured a snakebite, bitten a snake, or perhaps both. What is certain is that she has been a class above in the Proving Grounds.

10 - RM - Gleaming Hoard Stern - Age 23 - Paragon
Stern aims above all to be rich. What he has seen of foreign currency, he likes. His name is, for now, an ironic one, but he hopes to prove himself in the CAFA enough to make it a reality.

11 - LM - Virile Harker - Age 27 - Resplendent
Harker has sired countless children for the sake of the Evermarker people, but it has never slowed him down on the pitch. He has pace, brains and brawn in equal measure, though he is no technician.

13 - RM - Kalenz Rhinohide - Age 30 - Dauntless
A relative latecomer to the rites, Kalenz proved his right to compete by slaying a bear with tooth and nail alone. Admired for his ferocity more than his ability to hit a cross.

14 - CM - Spindle Idina - Age 33 - Ardent
Idina despises her pathetically weak Pride, the Ardent, though it is that Pride's very weakness that meant she was a certain callup for the Seekers. She craves the opportunity to prove herself abroad, but it is doubtful she is of the requisite quality.

19 - LM - Sparkling Ingrid - Age 29 - Gilded City Dragons (COR)
Considered something of an iconoclast in Evermarker circles, Ingrid once made the bold suggestion that the permissive refereeing at the Rites was contributing to the sport's brutal attrition rates. That she has been called up despite her moral failings speaks much of her talent.

23 - DM - Hard-nosed Carsten - Age 34 - Outcast
The leading committer of fouls and accumulator of yellow cards in the Rites, Carsten has earned much honour and credibility for his work. He is a thug, and admired for it.

25 - AM - Relentless Andre - Age 29 - Paragon
The closest thing in Evermark to a traditional playmaker, Andre is notorious for his refusal to run; he is one of the few whose honourific appears to be completely ironic.

26 - CM - Kris Sweetling - Age 25 - Dauntless
The ethnography team is yet to work out the deal with Kris, who remains for the most part under wraps.

FORWARDS
7 - ST - Leif Nine Fingers - Age 31 - Carrington PREMIER (TLI)
A scarred, handsome striker, one of the first to earn a foreign contract. His name is no metaphor, one finger having been eaten by a rabid thylacine.

9 - ST - Hilda Rockbiter - Age 25 - Outcast
Hulking, overweight and nasty to have to take on in a fight, Hilda's lack of fitness, terrible attitude and blatant disobedience of team orders may at times be made up for by her eye for goal and unbeatable aerial ability... at least in a league that doesn't penalise swinging elbows.

15 - ST - Promiscuous Emerjade - Age 32 - Paragon
Emerjade is reputed to have slept with most of the rest of her Pride, a feat regarded solemnly as proof of immense passion, stamina and willingness to build team chemistry.

17 - ST - Umber Ruskin - Age 29 - Ardent
Short, powerful and pugnacious, Ruskin is respected by his willingness to battle with defenders, using his low centre of gravity to get an edge.

21 - ST - Consummate Foxe - Age 20 - Pristine
The requisite young, overwhelmingly talented striker of the Seekers; which is to say, has the potential to play in a top-eight IFCF league. Technically raw, but that goalscoring instinct can't be trained.

LEXANDRIJA
Preferred Formation:
3-5-2
Style Modifier: 2
Kit Supplier: Cloaker
Captain: Cass Ardashir
Nickname: The Illuminated

Something's... not quite right in Lexandrija (former Iskandervale). They're being very secretive about a certain incident. It's nothing to worry about... in theory. Because they can see something, now: what they refer to simply as the Glory. Ignore the clicking of those geiger counters. Ignore the bright green eyes and pale skin, and the patches of missing hair. Those are the blessed. The enlightened. The Illuminated. And it's that young generation in the process of sweeping out the old blood.

Lexandrija has produced three exceptional footballers: Ishtar Fanaiyan, Servet Misidjan, Voska Avetisyan. All three played for Nephara instead. There's a substantial Lexandri diaspora in Nephara, and elsewhere in Anaia, but the nation's trying to build something more sustainable as the scars of war hopefully begin to recede ...

Tactics
Image
First-choice lineup. Pace and power will be the watchwords, hoping to make up in physicality what they lack in skill, and given their Nepharan origins they will be brutal and uncompromising both in tackling and in gamesmanship. They're going to come flying at teams, especially down the right, but may well get brutally exposed on the counterattack, especially given the sluggish pace of their defence.

Staff
Manager: Parvidzhon Borrowfield - Age 50

Once a centre-half, then assistant, now Borrowfield's running the rule over the whole thing. An iron-fisted tyrant, believed to be something of a minor acolyte of Skorjiball. If the main issue managing people who once played alongside you is making sure they all know you aren't their mate... well, job done.

Goalkeepers
1 - GK - Hansa Tabasi - Age 30 - Hornchurch (EUR)
12 - GK - Tanis Kaijan - Age 19 - Kuruvchija
20 - GK - Knoll Petrosian - Age 27 - Teragaseri (KOR)

Lexandrija are afflicted with the problem of many small nations: three of their best players are goalkeepers. The gangly and unorthodox but effective Tabasi has emerged to become the undoubted first-choice, with Kaijan the obvious successor.

Defenders
3 - LCB - Riko Angejan - Age 23 - Aspahan
5 - CB - Vega Castor - Age 28 - Navakor Farchija
6 - CB - Carmilla Evansjan - Age 24 - Concordija
16 - CB - Artaxerxes Bowman - Age 30 - SK Sandfjell (CNR)
18 - CB - Cass Ardashir - Age 34 - AC Pomena (JUE)
24 - CB - Iryna Nemethjan - Age 22 - Padideh

The main area of concern for Lexandrija. Six players, and none have ever truly convinced at this level, bar the past-it Ardashir.

Midfielders
2 - RWB - Carrick Gerhardtjan - Age 22 - BT Ming (CMT)
4 - DM - Electra Casabjan - Age 25 - Maynard AFC (KOR)
7 - RWB - Stern Chasejan - Age 22 - Mettaljrg Vakhqul
8 - CM - Seth Rezaei - Age 29 - Umbershore Rovers
11 - CM - Tasha Kamarandan - Age 30 - Felswyr (CMT)
15 - LWB - Istvan Triantis - Age 23 - Djnamo
17 - CM - Estelle Karpovjan - Age 24 - Concordija
19 - DM - Tania Makazjan - Age 22 - Lokomotjva Iskandabad
22 - LWB - Szara Lukasjan - Age 20 - Concordija
23 - CM - Jon-Jafar Latham - Age 30 - Gaelic Club (TLI)
25 - AM - Colwyn Blake - Age 29 - Navakor Farchija
26 - CM - Luna Xerxes - Age 24 - Endeavour Brenecia (BRE)

Has evolved into quite a strong unit, bizarrely. Tasha Kamarandan is the best player to have ever actually represented Iskandervale, a fluid midfield technician around whom the entire side flows. The young, electrifying Luna Xerxes offers craft alongside her. The two wingbacks of choice are worryingly old - though there's serious hope in Gerhardtjan - while there are a number of promising upcomers.

Forwards
9 - ST - Freya Martinjan - Age 25 - Metalljrg Vakhqul
10 - ST - Rijan Kovacjan - Age 23 - Couziers-Olympiques (KOR)
13 - ST - Schehera Asquith - Age 22 - Lokomotjva Iskandabad
14 - ST - Shamshira Kadhim - Age 30 - Bradwell Saints (KRY)
21 - ST - Tifera Dimitrijevjan - Age 23 - Padideh

As the current elder stateswoman amidst a young, talented new flock of chartreuse-eyed marksfolk, Shamshira Kadhim is going to have to step up; always a player of promise, she's going to bear most of the side's attacking hopes. Clotho Sulaka, the relatively prolific striker of the prior generation, will be missed, but there's serious potential in the likes of Kovacjan.

KRYTENIA 2312 CAFA CUP SQUAD
Modifier: +3

Image
Beginning their football journey way back in the second Baptism of Fire competition, Krytenia are one of the oldest national teams still competing in international football. With five World Cups hosted, as well as a smattering of AOCAFs, Cups of Harmony, Baptism of Fires, and even a CAFA Cup, they also have a deserved reputation for organising top-level football competitions. What they don't have, though, is a reputation for winning. They are yet to win a World Cup; in fact, they have only reached one final, losing to Aguazul in World Cup 58. Five semi-final defeats are what set the tone for the Dragons – indeed, losing in the semis of a major competition is known as the “Krytenian Curse”. That said, there is silverware in their cabinet. Having created the AOCAF Cup, Krytenia eventually won the fifty-second iteration of the competition; more recently, they won Cup of Harmony 78 and nearly added a second two cycles later, losing to fellow co-hosts Græntfjell on home soil. A third major trophy took a while to come, but with victory in the sixth CAFA Cup the Krytenian team joined the small band of nations who have won two different regional competitions.

They may have a reputation as the multiverse's nearly men, but never let yourself be deluded that the Krytenians are defeatist. Even though they may come up short, it's a very rare thing to see a Dragons team simply give up. Be aware that when the sky blue shirts are on the field, you will be in for a tough game, and victory will always be hard-earned.

Image
Manager – BRELK-XERAL Erv (QUS), Age 70
Started their career in their native Qusmo, where they brought first KF Atlov and then Atlov Juzuna to prominence (or at least relevance) in the domestic and international game. This led to them getting the national team job at Brenecia, which resulted in a Campeonato Esportiva trophy. After some initial promise, the team appeared to have hit a plateau; not only that, but for CAFA VI “BXE” had the additional challenge of being without assistant manager Graham Lawton, whose neurological ailment has forced him into full retirement. It mattered not, however, as the wily Qusmi guided the Dragons to their third-ever piece of major silverware.

Assistant Manager – Tommy WARREN, Age 35
A persistent knee injury may have curtailed Warren's career before it even started, but it hasn't dulled his enthusiasm for the game. BXE saw his work with Bradwell Saints' academy team and suggested the young coach to the KFA. Taking a leaf from his Qusmi mentor's book, Warren is made his mark at the Under-18 World Cup, guiding the teenagers to a fourth-place finish. Fresh from that experience, Warren will be learning at the feet of BXE, following Graham Lawton's illness and forced retirement. Likely to be the long-term replacement when the current gaffer hangs up their clipboard.

Goalkeeping Coach – Aaron SHEPHERD, Age 52
Defensive Coach – Gavin HEALEY, Age 38
Offensive Coach – Alex VINELLI, Age 57
Physiotherapist – Julian GRANT, Age 42

Image
Image

Amanda BACH
Age: 25
Position: Goalkeeper
Club: Caversham

Given Krytenia's non-segregated approach to football and the nation's propensity for producing talented goalkeepers, it's perhaps surprising that Bach is the first woman called up to the national side. The Caversham stopper seems to be made up entirely of limbs; her teammates have steered into this skid by nicknaming her “The Black Widow” - after the spider, before anyone asks.

Image

Mark MAROSIC
Age: 23
Position: Goalkeeper
Club: Casuals Osteria

Arguably the safest pair of hands in the country, Marosic has been developing nicely at Coalfields. Perhaps still lacks a bit of agility, which is what's keeping Bach ahead of him in the pecking order...for now, at least.

Image

James BOGDANOVIC
Age: 24
Position: Goalkeeper
Club: Foxchester Rovers

One from the James Orwell playbook, Bogdanovic seems happier with the ball at his feet rather than in his hands. Don't be fooled, though, as he's still a reliable shot-stopper. That's what convinced Foxchester Rovers to sign him for their first-ever assault on the O-League Premier, anyway.

Image
Image

Justin DARCY
Age: 30
Position: Right-back
Club: Mercia Bromham

Bombastic wing-back who fits right in with BXE's attacking philosophy. Looks more comfortable with the ball at his feet than trying to win it back off opposing wingers.

Image

Harry LEWIS
Age: 24
Position: Left-back
Club: Dereapolis City

Bags of pace and excellent positioning. Lewis does tend to see tackling as a last resort, and is happier guiding opposing wingers down a cul-de-sac instead.

Image

Robert GORMAN
CAPTAIN
Age: 31
Position: Centre-back
Club: Bradwell Saints

A thinking man's defender, Gorman is a calm head at the back. Not the best in the air, but makes up for it with accuracy in the tackle and excellent distribution. His cerebral style has earned him the captain's armband for CAFA 7.

Image

Derek HIGGINS
Age: 28
Position: Centre-back
Club: Emberton Hibernians

Speedy centre-back who could, in another life, have been a box-to-box midfielder. An absolute rock for Hibs, and should complement Gorman's more cerebral style nicely.

Image

Kristian AMARI
Age: 26
Position: Left-back
Club: Neathill

Amari likes to keep wingers neutralised out wide, but looks vulnerable when forced inside.

Image

Lucas CAMARA
Age: 24
Position: Right-back
Club: Caversham

Cultured wing-back, comfortable both in tracking back and with ball at feet. Loves an overlap.

Image

Leon JONES
Age: 24
Position: Centre-back
Club: Ousevale Borough

Coming through the ranks at the Southern Arena at such a young age is no mean feat. Jones, though, looks like the real deal. Excellent read of the game and metronomic timing in the tackle. Would be nailed onto a starting spot in the national side if Robert Gorman didn't exist.

Image

Geno FOSTER
Age: 22
Position: Centre-back
Club: Ashton Olympic

Impressed in Krytenia's run to the Under-18 World Cup semis; speedy and good in the air, still working on getting his positioning on point but is definitely improving in that regard.

Image

Alexander SOLIS
Age: 18
Position: Centre-back
Club: Emberton Reds

Looks like he'd be knocked over by a stiff breeze, but don't let that fool you. Solis is a well-balanced centre-half who works his craft through speed and timing. That said, can come off second-best against an old-fashioned physical centre-forward.

Image
Image

Darren GABRIEL
Age: 25
Position: Central midfield
Club: Royal Emberton

Ten thousands terriers in a human suit. Will chase down anyone with the ball in range. Also has a good eye for a pass. A one-man engine room, his style should allow Salvador a bit more freedom to roam.

Image

Jules RENARD
Age: 27
Position: Right midfield
Club: Beckton Supermarine

Tormalay-born winger snatched from CFF Monthuez's squad as a teenager by the Mariners. Flies down the right flank with strawberry blonde locks flowing; a shampoo advert on legs.

Image

Owen HALLER
Age: 28
Position: Left midfield
Club: Emberton Reds

Free-kick specialist and deadly accurate in the pass. Having Lewis in the wide positions behind him should allow Haller to cut inside and create havoc in the middle of the park as well.

Image

Esteban SALVADOR
VICE-CAPTAIN
Age: 27
Position: Central midfield
Club: Avidia United

The latest in a long line of Krytenian central midfield puppetmasters. Salvador looks so at home with the ball at his feet, you're expecting him to be playing in tartan slippers. Offers a dead-ball alternative to Owen Haller as well. With Gabriel alongside, expect the Avidia United man to work in a more advanced role when his side is on the ball.

Image

Emmanuel CURIE
Age: 24
Position: Central midfield
Club: CFF Monthuez

Talented ball-playing midfielder with an eye for a free kick. His more forward-minded play gives him versatility in the squad, either in midfield or at half-forward.

Image

Anthony KING
Age: 24
Position: Left midfield
Club: Notegia Rangers

A talented back-up to Owen Haller, King has in comfortable dribbling past opponents or whipping in a teaser.

Image

Andrew KIRSTEN
Age: 22
Position: Right midfield
Club: Royal Emberton

More of a right-sided forward than a true right winger, Kirsten prefers beating a defender inside. Expect him to support Williams in the middle when the ball is with Haller.

Image

Aaron WHARFEDALE
Age: 22
Position: Central midfield
Club: Bromham City

More of an attacking player than a conventional midfielder, but happy to track back and help out defensively if needed.

Image

Eddie CULVERHOUSE
Age: 19
Position: Central midfield
Club: Mercia Bromham

Midfield dynamo reminiscent of the likes of Wilson, O'Neill, and Snelders. Has broken through in a talented Mercia Bromham team and is definitely one to watch for the future.

Image
Image

Greg WILLIAMS
Age: 27
Position: Half-forward
Club: Ousevale Borough

Diminutive (5'6”) attacker, good close control, bags of pace, finds space well, general pain in the backside for defenders. Or, in other words, pretty much every Ousevale forward ever, only shorter.

Image

Angus JACK
Age: 30
Position: Striker
Club: Katashi-Kanatsu (KOR)

In the words of the Cyan Army:

“He's just A. Jack in the box, from the region with a fox, and he can score just about anything....”

Image

Reece KLAASEN
Age: 25
Position: Striker
Club: Stanton Town

Apex predator of a striker, seems to find a way to get on to any ball delivered into his general area. A useful skill considering the bunch of cloggers he had to deal with at Aigburth; has now been saved from those tribulations with a move to Stanton.

Image

Ryan COSTELLO
Age: 22
Position: Half-forward
Club: Avidia United

Very much a “do-it-all” forward, happy to play as the focal man or as a false nine. Happiest with ball at his feet, looking to give defenders migraines.

Image

Enrique GARCIA
Age: 19
Position: Striker
Club: Royal Emberton

Powerful and pacey, Garcia is a goal-poacher extraordinaire. Might not get you the spectacular thirty-yard volley, but instead will brush defenders aside to score ugly. They all count, after all.

Image
Image
“System Erv”, named for...well, take a guess, is on the face of it a 4-2-3-1. With the Krytenians on the ball, however, expect this to change quickly to a 4-2-4 as the second line pushes up to support the striker. The two holding midfielders will be the fulcrum of the attack; expect the ball to move quickly between light blue shirts, especially on the counter. Press, pace, and overloading and overwhelming opposition defences will be the order of the day.

Off the ball, Krytenia will play a high line; they may be vulnerable to balls over the top – if opposition attackers can time their runs to avoid the offside and beat the Dragons' defenders for pace.

BG – Blue GIBSON – Coach - Image

Team

Playing in the following formation: GK | DL DC DC DR | MC MC MC | SC SC SC

The first player(s) named in each area of the team start the game. Our line-up will broadly be as follows (unless you RP one of our players has an injury or something):

GK: Natural
DsL-R: Sandman, Sackholme, o.t. Streamcarers, Featherborn
MCs: Midday, Sunteller, Bridgebuilder
SCs: Russo, Twonames, Clearedway

Further information on the players is below if it is required and/or of interest.

Number, Name, Position, Age, Place of Birth, Club
All players male (He/Him) unless specified

Goalkeepers - 3

1 - Marcus NATURAL - GK – 27 – Fringilla, Chaffinch Island Image – Cottsworth City Image
Having excelled as a goalkeeper from an early age in Fringilla, Natural's surname came naturally to him following glowing reports from his coaches on the way up.The only thing that had held him back from number one status is Softstep's superior foresight.
12 - Moyake ONYEFULU - GK – 26 – Dugba, Cobrio Jensee Island – CF Solidarite Akash, Cobrio
She/Her
Onyefulu is half-Ochreite, being born to an Ochreite mother. Whilst convention in Cobrio is for the mother's name to be carried over, Onyeful's own mother was insistent she take her father's name. She is currently playing for CF Solidarite Akash and is one of four overseas players drafted in by the Ochre Islands during the current crisis.
13 – Leora SOFTSTEP - GK – 35 – Cerrston, Juniper Island Image – Juniper Mournhow F.C. Image
She/Her
Leora's place of birth is noted as Cerrston, when in fact she was born on one of the ships carrying Bostopians to their new home in the Ochres. That it happened to dock in Cerrston, where her family settled, was just luck. Her parents chose a new surname after watching their child take her first furtitive steps outside, wanting to ditch their old Bostopian name. While there is some doubts over her ability to play as an international goalkeeper, her ability to read the game makes up for a lack of height (comparative to other top-flight goalkeepers at least) and fans joke that it seems she knows where the ball will go before the striker does.

Defenders - 7

15 - Harry SANDMAN – DL – 32 – Slipsway, Chaffinch Island Image – Slipsway Town F.C. Image
The youngest member of the squad, only just turning 16 in time for the first qualifying game, Harry Sandman is the first player in any Ochre national squad to be born on Chaffinch Island. Adopting his surname from his love of running on the beach, he tends to be more of a sweeper than a proper centre half, being able to quickly take care of opponents passes into the box before they cause too much harm. His pace and stamina also allows him to play as a makeshift right wing-back, but his crosses come across as clearances more often than not.
6 – Julian SACKHOLME - DC – 25 – Bellflower, Mournhow Island Image – Ousevale Borough Image
Sackholme was born in Bellflower to parents who were members of Krytenia's diplomatic corps. He spent the first few years of his life in Bellflower, before moving to Ousevale, his parents hometown. Whilst he hasn't been able to secure a place in Borough's starting XI, he's keen to impress during the Cup of Harmony to further put his name in the plans of Ousevale's manager.
4 – Daniela o.t. STREAMCARERS – DC – 30 – Florindia, Dracaena Image – Miradela GD Image
She/her
Daniela of the Streamcarers was the oldest player to make their Ochre debut at a major tournament. Whilst the Ochres is making great strides towards equality of the sexes, on a football pitch women are still expected to show they can match the males in strength to play in the male-dominated professional leagues. Thus, whilst having natural defending ability, she has had to work harder than a lot of the men to claim her position within the national defensive group at all. In order to get more playing time and show some of the olds around the national side she is capable, Daniela has had to move away from her clan and is now playing for Miradela GD in Ko-oren.
5 - Julen GORGEWALKER – DR – 29 – Bellflower Image – West Bellflower F.C. Image
Amongst a very fit, professional squad, Gorgewalker is probably the fittest player on the team, largely in part due to his enjoyment of walking along the many gorges that make up the Ochre hinterland. Employed as a wing-back by West Bellflower, Gorgewalker displays many fine qualities going forward and in defence.
16 - Lucy FEATHERBORN- DR – 33 – City of Louisa, Hope Island Image – Schemerdrecht SVV Image
She/Her
Featherborn currently plies her trade at right-back for Schemerdrecht SVV, having left her hometown team Louisa Hope F.C. for the Ko-oren side. Complaints from journalists that she could have gone to a team 'easier to spell quickly' exist though are simply batted away as 'whinging'. Pacy and versatile, she is more likely to try and beat her opponent with the ball at her feet rather than pass around them. She already displays a range of passing that could see her propelled into the midfield, whether on the wing or in the middle should her development continue at the pace it is.
3 - Michael WATERTON - DL – 25 – Endswick, Handsby Island Image – Nottshore Turquoise Image
Waterton comes from a small hamlet just outside Endwick called 'Waterton', which his father named when he first settled the area and is set on building a new town there. Wanting to stay local and help his family, Waterton has turned down offers from larger clubs to stay with Nottshore Turquoise, who are based on his home island of Handsby.
2 - Louis D'ENTRO -Vice-Captain - DC – 33 – Bellflower, Mournhow Island Image – Cottsworth City Image
Louis was born in what was known then as 'New Ranton', which was the name of the capital of the Bostopian Ochre Islands prior to independence. He is one of the better players in Cottsworth's side, who are regular title contenders in the Ochre League Division One.

Midfielders - 8

17 - Nate MIDDAY - MC – 28 – Westlands, Anley – Acrestry Town Image
Midday's is a holding midfielder who currently playes for Acrestry Town in the first division of Ochre football. He is known as a dead-ball specialist as well as having the skills needed to play in the centre of midfield at a high level.
20 - Eliot SUNTELLER - D/MC – 23 – Renhold, Mournhow Image – Lansdorn F.C. Image
Sunteller is a promising young footballer brought along to CAFA 6 to give him some experience on the regional stage before possibly making the WC94 squad. His mother, a follower of Byerxys and noted soothsayer raised him on her own from young following his father's untimely passing. Sunteller currently plays for Lansdorn, where whilst he makes a good number of appearances from the bench, clearly shows a lot of promise and potential.
14 - Luca BRIDGEBUILDERCaptain - MC – 22 – Aguaclara, Cardenao Image – Bellflower A.U. Image
Bridgebuilder is the shining star of Bellflower A.U. XI's youth academy and currently plies his trade in the first team in the Ochre First Division. Born on a small island in Cardenao to two Ochre Island parents, he is the first dual-Anaian citizen to play for the Ochre Islands. As well as football, Bridgebuilder also has a strong interest in diplomatic relations and is already tipped for a political career once his still-young playing days are over.
8 - Harry LEWIS - MC – 37 – Port Flamerty – Nuntsby City Image
11 - Joseph MIKKELS - MC – 38 – Hilltop – Lower Soffsley Image
15 - Mick BASING - DMC – 35 – Sennaton – Bellflower A.U. XI Image
18 - Adrien WITHLINENS - AMC – 28 – Flenham, Mournhow – Fringilla A.F.C. Image
Withlinens is a player who should begin to excel under Richard Valens, willing to throw himself forward at a moments notice to turn a three person front-line into four people, as well as provide defence-splitting passes from the midfield.

Strikers - 5

22 - Susana RUSSO – SC – 24 – Bridgdon, Handsby Image – Dynapolis United, Cobrio
She/Her
Susana has big shoes to fill, taking the place and number of the Ochres Bostopian-born wonderchild, Blue Gibson. However, this isn't the first time she's been faced with adversity, moving to Cobrio early on as her mother took a job in an international freight firm in Callisto, Hearthlands, who had a lot of trade with the Ochres. She rose through the youth ranks at Heart of Omorfio, then broke into their first team aged only 17. She signed for nearby 'rivals' Callisto City at 18, then moved to Dynapolis United in Cobrio's second city at 21. Surprise has been expressed in some quarters that it's taken Russo this long to catch the eye of the national team, but it won't take anyone in Cobrio by surprise if she shines on this stage.
21 - Jimmy TWONAMES - SC – 29 – Unsley, Juniper Image – Juniper Monnstair Image
Twonames plies his trade for his home island team, Juniper Monnstair, and is usually found playing as an inside forward. He joins the Ochre squad looking to break into the national team on a regular basis.
7 - Copse CLEAREDWAY - SC – 35 – Callais, Jensee Island Image – Slipsway Town Image
Copse Clearedway was born in Callais, which is on one of the smaller Ochre Islands of Jensee. He is first-choice striker for Slipsway Town, a mid-table side in the first division of domestic Ochre football. However for the Ochre national team, he is more likely to be played in the hole between attack and midfielder to give us a significant threat just outside the area, as well as knowing where a striker would want a ball playing to them.
9 - Rory BUILDER - SC – 33 – Kollingdon, Handsby Island Image – Valesthorpe Image
Rory is the youngest of the Ochre-born players, having been born a mere day or two after his parents reached Kollingdon following their migration to the Ochres from Fenton State. Whilst still largely bench-warming for Valesthorpe, the national team can see his promise and are taking him to CAFA3 in the hopes of giving him international experience in low-pressure situations.
10 - Kallum NORTHBROOK - SC – 28 – Altarton, Mournhow Image – Bellflower A.U. Image
Northbrook is an enterprising striker who usually plays as part of a two-man attack at Bellflower, which is most likely why he is on the bench for the national side.
19 – Carl-James (C.J.) LUCKSMITH - SC – 29 – Hannston, Jensee Island Image – Lionsville Transport Sports Club Image
Despite playing for a smaller Ochre side, sitting in the 4th tier of the football league, C.J. has excelled and proven himself at a high level thanks to helpful cup draws against much better teams projecting his abilities on the national stage. While football at the lower levels is a bit more rough and ready than the higher divisions, he has always been able to hold his own against strong defenders despite his young age, and their willingness to let him know they're there.

Kits & Logo

Home, Away and Third

ImageImageImage

Owing to the current crisis, the Ochre Islands kits were designed and manufactured by Aether, with input from the players of the Ochre Islands national football team.
The home kit is a traditional striped ochre, blue and white scheme.
The away kit is a welcomed contiuation of the 'Anaiaway' theme, paying tribute to the region that has housed the players and staff whilst they have been unable to return home.
The third kit is a mashup of the home and third kits from CAFA2, which was famously won by the Ochre Islands.
Before CAFA 2, the Ochre Islands Football Association ran a competition to design the team's logo, which was won by a 34 year old man with neither design experience or taste. Fortunately, an update of the design to account for taste was commissioned and outsourced by the OIFA, which is as below. The badge prominently features a 'little mint green hat', which actually commerorates the Ochre Islands victory in the second CAFA tournament.

Image

The Ochre Islands play a possession-based style of football which aims to prevent the opposition from scoring by simply not letting them have the ball. The players will be taking chances when playing the ball forward and passing into space when it's available and there is a strong chance of us retaining possession.

FLAVOVESPIA

Image

Kit

Image

Home-Away-Third

The kits debuted in WCQ95 remain, having been well received. The classic motifs of any Flavovespian kit remain, a black double V prominent on a yellow shirt, with black shorts and socks. The away kit is reversed, and there’s an all white 3rd kit.

Squad

Manager

Manager – Augusto Rinaldi Age: 63 [SVG/FVA]

Augusto Rinaldi proved he could take Flavovespia higher than they’ve ever been in the World Cup 94, winning the qualifying group, winning Group G containing Turori, Nephara and HUElavia, and coming so close in the knockout stages to the quarter finals. That seems to have renewed his desire. Man management, good squad building, and direct, understandable tactics are key.

Goalkeepers

1 Nathan Crewe Age: 30 Position: GK Club: Marthorpe City FC Caps: 24 Goals: 0
12 Aarif Muhammad Age: 34 Position: GK Club: Rockridge Phoenix [BRE] Caps: 210 Goals: 0
23 Thomas Foley Age: 32 Position: GK Club: Bavingtor FC Caps: 3 Goals: 0

No changes to the three Goalkeepers selected, but definitely a shuffle in the depth chart. Nathan Crewe stepped up in the WCQ94, and has since proven himself at international level, able to make saves with good consistency, and with brilliant distribution. Aarif Muhammad has served Flavovespia very well, but at 34, his cap tally may well go up very little now beyond a very impressive 210. Him and Thomas Foley are in battle for the second goalkeeper spot, Foley having never quite had a chance internationally, but still strong enough domestically to keep out any young guns sniffing around.

Defenders

2 David Lyons Age: 33 Position: LB Club: Maethoru SC [KOR] Caps: 217 Goals: 4
3 Andrew Dance Age: 30 Position: RB Club: Loxthorpe Rovers FC Caps: 143 Goals: 1
4 Stuart Cookson Age: 32 Position: CB Club: Marthorpe City FC Caps: 168 Goals: 2
5 Paul Taylor Age: 27 Position: CB Club: AC Izotz Zubia [AUD] Caps: 94 Goals: 1
13 Stan Scott-Wilson Age: 22 Position: LB Club: Marthorpe City FC Caps: 20 Goals: 0
14 Nazir Hussain Age: 26 Position: CB Club: Loxthorpe Rovers FC Caps: 17 Goals: 0
15 Malcolm Beresford Age: 29 Position: CB Club: Bavingtor FC Caps: 20 Goals: 0
16 Scott Gillespie Age: 26 Position: RB Club: Syneca AC [SRS] Caps: 7 Goals: 0

It’s not a huge surprise, much like most positions, that 8 of the defenders from the last squad remain. Only Daniel Lansdell has been dropped, his international career seemingly coming to an end. Captain and high spirited David Lyons keeps the number 2 jersey, but him and Andrew Dance will have Stan Scott-Wilson challenging them for a starting spot. The young full back has the ability to play on either side and looks comfortable doing so. Scott Gillespie is also an option at right back, tall and imposing in that position, although he’s actually played little club football in Flavovespia, instead mostly playing abroad. Unsurprisingly Stuart Cookson and Paul Taylor remain as centre backs, the pair looking like the best option for Flavovespia. Nazir Hussain and Malcolm Beresford remain as the rotation options at centre back, although the consensus is depth wise, this is probably Flavovespia's weakest spot.

Midfielders

6 Jonathan Goldstone Age: 31 Position: CM Club: Bavingtor FC Caps: 94 Goals: 2
7 Kieron Player Age: 32 Position: CDM Club: Coret Hawks [NPH] Caps: 218 Goals: 18
8 David Wassell Age: 30 Position: CDM Club: Yerushalayim [ADB] Caps: 103 Goals: 1
11 Jonathan Bagshaw Age: 26 Position: RAM Club: AC Izotz Zubia [AUD] Caps: 152 Goals: 78
17 Martin Edwards Age: 28 Position: CDM Club: Langmere Green Rovers FC Caps: 28 Goals: 2
18 Anthony Lane Age: 23 Position: LAM Club: Loxthorpe Rovers FC Caps: 8 Goals: 3
19 Amrik Singh Age: 27 Position: RAM Club: Binclestead Wood FC Caps: 28 Goals: 5
20 Charles Adams Age: 23 Position: CDM Club: Maethoru SC [KOR] Caps: 18 Goals: 2

The midfield is as expected based on the previous squad, although the battle for the starting roles could be strong. Kieron Player is probably the main name in the midfield trio, his vision and passing are great, and he’s a real maestro of set pieces. Jonathan Goldstone and David Wassell have number 6 and number 8 respectively, both very competent in the midfield. However Charles Adams acquainted himself well in WCQ94, and could well be a starter here. Martin Edwards can be a useful asset, but still has a bit of a rash streak to his game. In terms of wide players, none are more famous and naturally gifted than Jonathan Bagshaw. The scorer of the winner of CAFA Cup 4, his caps and goals at just 26 sum up his talent. Anthony Lane gave a good account of himself in his appearances in WCQ94, and Amrik Singh has always been a dependable back up at right wing or left wing when needed, with several seasons of great domestic performances.

Forwards

9 Michael Cole Age: 32 Position: CF Club: North Hall [BRE] Caps: 197 Goals: 113
10 Adrian Jones Age: 33 Position: CF Club: 1830 Cathair [AUD] Caps: 109 Goals: 60
21 Richard Birmingham Age: 24 Position: CF Club: Langmere Green Rovers FC Caps: 30 Goals: 8
22 Peter Langdon Age: 19 Position: CF Club: Loxthorpe Rovers FC Caps: 4 Goals: 1

Four forwards from the previous squad make it here. Michael Cole was unbelievable on the left wing in World Cup 94, with 5 goals in 4 games, scoring in every one. Even at 32, his turn of pace and ability to find the right spot seems tough for a lot of defences to handle. Adrian Jones has been a typical strong centre forward, hard for defences to outmuscle, but at 33, his swansong is approaching. Richard Birmingham could be his successor, a similarly built striker who’s been to prove himself after a few inconsistent spells at this level. However it could be young star Peter Langdon who gets the nod to replace Jones, he got his first international goal vs Nephara in World Cup 94.

Tactics

Flavovespia will keep with the 4-3-3 that’s served them well. The four defenders are selected on defensive qualities, with maybe the odd venture forward by a full back if there’s a covering midfielder. The three midfielders are broken up into a ball winning midfielder, a more box to box midfielder, and a playmaker who can link up with the attack. The central forward acts as a false nine, able to drip deeper or drive into the box. The two wide forwards look for spaces to cut inside or get behind the defence to take a cross or a shot. Expect direct forward passing from Flavovespia, and generally less possession than average.

Bostopia absolutely has a domestic [sport here] league and we would tell you more about our domestic [sport here] league, but it's in Bostopia so you wouldn't know about it, despite Bostopia having always been in Anaia. Your ignorance of Bostopian [sport here] matters is yours to own and not something to shame us for. If the players below aren't household names, you need to ask yourself the following question: 'Am I and my household prejudiced against Bostopians? They have always been in Anaia and yet I know nothing about their league.'

As you can't even name the city any of the below players were born in (fumbling guesses at 'Newfort' do not count as you can't name the county or even the duchy Newfort is in, despite the fact Bostopia has always been in Anaia), or their ages, or who they play for, we aren't going to mention them either. We would prefer to use this space to confirm your prejudices against us by leaving those details blank.

GK - Richard Lyons
DL - Michael Smith
DC - Harry Perk
DC - Gordon Richards
DR - Jake Wilkinson
ML - Bryan Harper
MC - Steven Kairs
MC - James McDadson
MR - Simon Manson
SC - Lynton Pilson
SC - Frank Rover

Subs:

GK - Dean Walters
DL/C - Miles Embridge
DR - Sam Leenton
ML - Ryan Wasting
MC - Philip Nicholls
MC/R - Kevin Grainger
SC - Walter Ambridge

The above players will play a very direct 4-4-2 and be absolutely unapologetic about it, especially if your goalkeeper is dangerously off his, her, or their line, as Bostopia chooses not to discriminate against who we attempt to humiliate by scoring from within our own half. That we've had to tell you this is disgraceful. Bostopia has always been in Anaia and how we play should be known by now. Confirming your prejudices. Again.

Home, Away, and Third

Image Image Image

Kits are self explanatory – they are the shirt designs that all ten of our outfield players will wear (and substitutes when entering the field at the appropriate time). They will all wear the same shirt design at the same time.

For those of you who are unaware, Bostopia will play in red and white stripes as our home kit, a blue away kit, then a wonderfully detailed burgundy third kit.

If your team is not designated as the home team, and your colours clash with ours, jolly well change your kits to an alternative. Our goalkeepers will wear a plain shirt, in a flourescent colour which we feel your players will dislike the most. That we need to say this is nothing short of ridiculous, but our players will of course also wear shorts, socks, shinpads and boots. If you knew anything about them and didn't let your prejudice get in the way, you would know whether any of them use wee little bobbles for their hair or wear headbands to stop their glorious Bostopian hair getting in their eyes during the [sport here] match.

While something is going on in the Ochre Islands (though we don't know what), we suppose that for the purposes of CAFA, Bostopia is a puppet of the Ochre Islands - somehow. We have received no compensatory grilled meats or lightly steamed vegetables despite vehement protests to both Anaian sporting authorities and some Ochre Islanders we could find in Koroa, who scuttled away crab-like to shelter when we asked where our grilled meats or lightly steamed vegetables were. In retaliation, we have begun barbecueing tasty meats near Krytenian border posts and refused to share with them, as well as pointed just some - but more than enough - of our many, many, artillery pieces at Legalese.

About Huayramarca:

National Anthem: ¡Oh, Huayramarca! - Lyrics
Capital City: Chuquiago.
Highest Point: Nevado Inti (7,920 masl)

Huayramarcan Football History:
As a society, Huayramarcans enjoy sports, especially when politics may turn the nation into a chaos every second, they just want to run away from that horrible and desperate situation and may try luck on football.

Considering the levels of poverty on Huayramarca, young people may give a shot for football in the chaotic Liga 1 or lower tiers, with the hopes of achieving a decent salary that may help their families to get away from poverty and huayco-prone neighbourhoods. Liga 1 has fourteen teams from various parts of the country, mostly focused on the Sierra and Costa regions since those are the most heavily populated ones. The recent decisions taken in the Government and the Huayramarcan Football Federation, where they ended a ban on transferring players to foreign teams, has filled with optimism and illusion an entire generation of youngsters, that now aim to be another Huayramarcan playing abroad.

Immediately after the HFF creation, the president of the Plurinational State, Hugo Mina (Costeño), thought it would be a great idea to form a fringe squad for the AOCAF and then try to make it into Baptism of Fire or World Cup Qualifiers, hence he asked for Eliezer González (head of the Huayramarcan Football Federation) to try and apply for said tournaments. He sent notes to sign-up for those events, but he sent them incorrectly, at AOCAF, he sent it to a grandmother living up near the Andean Organization for Coffee, Agriculture and Forests (located at Cumbayá) instead of sending it to the proper AOCAF tournament organizing committee, which turned González into laughingstock for several weeks in Huayramarca. Despite that, González managed to sign-up properly for the WC, despite he was rejected for BoF because he applied to the “Burger of Fire” and not the Baptism of Fire.

After all, the HFF managed to convince 25 players from the amateur-ish Liga 1 sides to build the National Team, whose nickname is resumed to “Kuntur” (The Condors), all those players ranged from being high school students, to chemists, bus drivers, and even people from the local tavern, whose preference is revealed on how they named their team “Real Ebriedad”, which was later supported by Cristalina, the main brewery firm from Huayramarca.

Nothing that would be possible without the support of Omar Caicedo, a Costeño who migrated to Québec and decided to learn football techniques while managing Beyreuth University, where he won three national titles out of eight seasons on his span with them. Caicedo is a fan of high-pressure football, known as “gegenpressing” or “El Huayco” as Huayramarcans may call if (specially Serranos, since they might be quite shy or sometimes plain dumb that doesn’t like to attack) Anyways, Caicedo’s strategy proved right on some matches played by Huayramarca against their northern neighbour, the Royal Kingdom of Québec, beating them 5-1 at Huayramarca’s Estadio Nacional (located at 4,012 masl only?!…) and tying 2-2 at Iqaluit’s Ice Hockey Rink (that’s what the players thought at playing in a frozen city… ¡Achachay!) If you wonder what’s ¡Achachay! Well, figure out you’re on top of the mountain receiving wind and gelid weather right into you, if you did it, welcome to Huayramarcan’s sense of cold shivering!

Well, coming back to football, Caicedo’s devotion for 4-2-3-1 has been unquestionable, he always loved to boast of having a neat defence, two defending mid fielders that may aim to recover possession when needed, or even having one of them switching to creative duties in support of the team’s brain, Ian Mamani, then, two wingers feeding the sole striker up in the middle of the box. He did demonstrate a lot during the first part of the World Cup Qualifiers, earning some mixed results during it, but it failed for a part of the second half, where the team accumulated an 11 winless game streak added that they weren't capable to snatch a win during their first eight local games. In fact, their first home win came at the 9th home game, after that, they won three out of their four last home games, earning an 8 games unbeaten streak to finish off the Qualifiers, which was a quite impressive recovery after suffering a significant streak of defeats. A similar pattern occurred for World Cup 86th too.

With investments made by the Huayramarcan Government to the Huayramarcan Football Federation, by multiplying tenfold their budget, the HFF has now sent the managerial staff of the Condors to other nations, to gather new ideas and apply those to build a competent side in tactical terms, with the main purpose to achieve World Cup qualification for the first time as soon as possible and provide that joy to the Huayramarcan folk. That heavy investment provided benefits during the 87th World Cup Qualifiers, where Huayramarca left behind the label of being an "uncomfortable rival" to take a protagonist role in their group, finishing second behind Audioslavia with a solid 40 points in 18 matches. Things in playoffs might be forgettable as Huayramarca drew at home (1-1) and was thrashed (1-4) in Tikariot.

Despite the downturn in the team's mindset, the team faced struggles at the Cup of Harmony group stage. Being defeated by Mriin at the first game, defeating Garifunya 1-0 and then tying against Ibixa for the second time in the cycle sent the Condors to the Knockout phase of CoH for their first time ever, Xanneria was a hard rival for the Round of 32, Huayramarca's miracle run was about to start with a narrow 2-1 win over them; then two rock-solid performances against Saint Domingue and a well-known foe from the WCQ Group (Sargossa) with a 3-1 and 2-0 respectively, put Huayramarca among the best four sides in the Cup of Harmony. Being defeated by Mriin with a hard-fought 2-3 and then once again a 1-4 against Newmanistan were enough to confirm Huayramarca as the 4th placed side.

World Cup 88th would prove to be an interesting situation for the team and fans overall, Huayramarca would have a rather forgettable first half of the qualifiers, with a 6-game winless streak that became a ballast enough to keep the team away from the Top-3 during the entire Qualifier. The team tried to revert the situation with strong performances that, pitifully, weren’t enough to qualify the team for the World Cup. A strong CoH and a decent CAFA helped to compensate.

Life may repeat some of their lessons if people doesn’t manage to learn from them, the Huayramarcan National Team enjoyed their best start ever in a World Cup Qualifier, nine goals for and one against in the four first matches, the team was displaying a defensive strength unknown for many fans, they continued the path by defeating Squornshelan Remnant States and Nephara in important matches. “It was too good for being real” said many fans, and Tumbra proved them right, as they grounded the Huayramarcans at the Estadio Nacional with a painful 0-3, so painful that marked a steady decline of the team for the second half, as the team got a succession of draws and defeats that sent them from the top of the table to the fifth place in a span of four matchdays. From that crisis, it is noteworthy the fact that Omar Caicedo used an alternative XI for the remainder of the cycle and shifted to a more offensive version of “El huayco,” that would prove to be effective for Cycle 90.

With Caicedo’s tenure in a limbo, he decided to take a game-changing decision after hiring Rodolfo Zelaya as an assistant coach; Zelaya’s a former footballer with significant decorations such as Champions Cup with two teams and reaching the World Cup Final twice. Despite being defeated at home by Valanora in the opener, a string of four clean sheets in the next five games would be decisive to consolidate Huayramarca as a contender in her group, then a quick succession of decisive results against Krytenia at home (3-2) and Valanora on the road (2-2) paved the way to keep the team fighting for the first place until the last matchday. Despite defeating Krytenia 1-0 on the road, the Vanorians won their last match and that meant that Huayramarca went to the playoffs, despite possessing the seventh best record of the qualifiers.

Facing Omerica in the playoffs was a tough affair, as they managed to salvage a horrid game when visiting the rivals, a 1-2 that proved to be oxygen for the second leg of the playoffs at Puerto San Carlos. An early goal from the Legend itself, Bryan Tello, and a strong defensive performance from The Condors forced the penalty kicks. The Huayramarcans and Omericans were scoring perfectly fine until the fifth round, where Juan Mamani decided to be the hero and saved the kick, sending Huayramarca to its first World Cup Finals.

El Huayco was now stronger than ever, and the World Cup highlighted it with statement results against Græntfjall (4-3 in debut) and the hosts, Vilita (1-0), despite being defeated by Pemecutan(3-4) and helped the team to reach the Round of 16. The hurdle in the knockouts proved to be the same as the Qualifiers, Valanora appeared for the third time in the cycle and demonstrated their experience with a sound 4-2 victory over The Condors, who did a great debut in the Multiversal Stage.

Said streak continued for the WC 91 Qualifier, one where despite having a bumpy start, Huayramarca managed to recompose things and propel themselves to the pack of nations fighting for automatic qualification, one featuring Sarzonia, Cassadaigua and Electrum. After being defeated by Electrum and Cassadaigua in a row, Huayramarca began an astonishing 15 game unbeaten run where they only conceded 15 goals and scored 48, including five straight clean sheets, even in critical matches where the Condors showed a magnificent performance. Revenge was sweet, defeating the Dagans at home, trouncing Electrum with a resounding 6-0 at Guayaquil (a NT record) and then a 2-0 win against Sarzonia propelled the Huayramarcan side to the top of their qualifier group. A draw against Magnecia complicated things as Sarzonia had a game in hand, Huayramarca had to keep the winning streak and they managed to do so, securing their automatic qualification against Ancherion in a dramatic fashion.

Back in the Group Stage of the World Cup, the Condors were trying to replicate the success achieved last year in the World Cup, not an easy task as they would face Farfadillis, Pasarga and Delaclava. Being defeated twice by narrow 3-2 scores, Huayramarca had to bid farewell to their hopes of replication, still, they had to avoid going with a zero on points, something they managed to do as they defeated Delaclava with a 4-3. Despite the outcome, the Condors were able to make a comeback in the cycle with a decent participation in CAFA 4, winning three matches and barely qualifying for the knockout stages; then, they defeated Legalese in a marathonic penalty kicks session and were edged out by the hosts, Ko-oren, with a 1-2 in extra time. Almost the same can be said about World Cup Cycle 92, where Huayramarca had a great qualifying campaign, recovering a slight disadvantage at mid qualifiers by defeating Pasarga and qualify for the third time. A horrible World Cup performance, added by a sound defeat vs Aleirave at CAFA 5 Quarterfinals, led to the end of the Caicedo cycle.

Now, with the experienced Blâás Âgínsôgnó in the bench, with the support of Hazel van Robben, Huayramarca refreshed its football idea in this World Cup Qualifier, adding some interesting players of the rather successful Di Bradini Cup 54 team, players that are aiming to rejuvenate the team and be a bid for an overall quality level increase. The fan expectation was high and the national team didn’t disappoint, as they took no prisoners through most of the qualifier, managing to keep a seventeen-match unbeaten streak, including decisive victories against Farfadillis, Sargossa, Pyazhnaya and Kimi-Suomi.

Despite the streak, turbulence came across as Bubiyan and Warbah got a surprising victory, then despite a quick recovery vs Sudilia, a cold bucket of water came at La Fantás as Farfadillis avenged the defeat in the first half of the qualifiers with a strong 5-2 win against the Condors. Doubts came, the National Team was shaking, but recovery was swift as they got to the play-offs and silenced any doubts by defeating Sylestone convincingly, the best was about to come.

In a Group featuring Valanora and Vilita, both being five-time World Cup Champions, Huayramarca came victorious and performed the best football in a long time, as they cruised the Group Stage to get an immaculate 3-0-0 shape. Cabo Azure was the rival in Round of 16, after coming back three times during the match and a ten-goal thriller (5-5), Huayramarca was able to force penalties and sealed a decisive berth to Quarterfinals. As of now, Huayramarcans are convinced that they can work hard and get convincing results with a matter of patience and dedication, and they will strive to continue in that path.

Things in World Cup 94 were starting to be as great as in 93, as people expected that Huayramarca could've been able to repeat or improve the past participation in the World Cup. A calm first half, where the Condors were able to secure points from Ko-oren and Jeruselem, saw how things got complicated after being defeated at home by Île de Richelieu and away by Sannyamathland, going down from first place to third in the leaderboard of the Group 2 of said qualifier. The team considered that as a wake-up call in a fashion we have never seen from the Huayramarcan National Team, 34 goals for in 7 games, never scoring less than four goals, including routing Jeruselem 5-2, and what was a defence with only nine goals against in 17 matches, coming from Naixi, being demolished with a 4-0, enough to secure straight qualification... About the World Cup proper, well, Huayramarcans will not talk about it, nobody fancies to talk about a 0-0-3 record I guess? A record they will try to wash off at CAFA, where a lot is at stakes for the Huayramarcans and their desire to progress and earn some silverware.

Anyways, Huayramarcan football stills being distinguishable on how prone are they to do long range shots, due that they are used to play at significant heights, the lack of oxygen may make the ball travel further without applying a lot of strength during the mechanics of kicking the football, that is known as the “Andean Effect” and may cause serious troubles for visiting sides on Huayramarca.

Without further ado, the starting XI and substitutes are presented in the following tables:

Team mentality:
Huayramarcans, per se, are bold and quite diverse between the team due to the regional contrasts among them: You might note surnames such as: Condori, Mamani, Quispe, Sayritupac, etc. Those are Serrano surnames. Serranos as such are quite shy people with non-serranos, between them, great footballing societies may be made due to their complete understanding of each other, they are quite homogenous on how they act and may be predictable for each other. But, for the non-expert eye, Serranos are one on their kind and could result unpredictable for them, since they love to do things at fast pace between them, without doubt one could send 60 meters cross with complete confidence that they might find their teammate, with this, you can notice that Serranos are overconfident on themselves and somewhat dubious with Costeños and Selváticos. Other characteristic of Serranos is that they are quite easy to intimidate, being shy and short-sized doesn’t helps, but in that situation, they might opt to act even better than they do for the sake of shutting your mouth.

Costeños and Selváticos (jungle) in the other hand are confident with everybody, even if they might not receive the same treatment by their Serrano fellows. Those two groups conform the rest of the team and might do good societies on field, declining the quality of their chemistry when trying to connect with Serranos, due to the latter shy mood. Physically speaking, Costeño and Selváticos are people who boast being the tallest overall in the team.

Chemistry building has been somewhat complicated for this team during the five cycles they have competed together but has been a rather successful process that consolidated with the 79th Cup of Harmony, the 88 th and 89 th World Qup Qualifiers, as they have been together as glue through high and lows. The regional divides topic is now outdated as the players have grown up significantly and have harnessed teamwork.

Although they work nicely as a team, there’s a moment when they can’t do that and that moment is when they have the goal in their sights, when they have a chance to score, they try to do their best to do it by themselves, even if that means avoid passing the ball to a better placed teammate, individualities have been surging from nowhere and this issue has costed valuable results for the team. This was combated successfully by Caicedo and Zelaya and Blâás Âgínsôgnó plans to continue in said route.

To finish with this part, Huayramarca is that kind of team that may be overconfident sometimes, but if you press them to their limits, they might react in unsuspected ways, be those positive or negative for their interests, you don’t know what would happen in the Serrano, Costeño or Selvático mindset. As they do on the local league, they might try to do some antics to their rivals, be it: providing beer instead of water to their rivals, or the classiest one, giving distillated “ayahuasca” (vodka-like alcohol) and pass it like water and make their rivals be drunk, taking advantage of their influence to beat the rival team. Of course, they might not abuse of this resource, Serranos might ask Inti for it.

How We Play Football? Note: Open this spoiler for the formation and game style.
At simple glance, things doesn't seem that had changed a lot after Omar Caicedo left the national team, and so his ideals for the future prospects. Huayramarca has decided to brand her own style of football embracing offensiveness, courage and grit under the label of fulbo total, in an attempt to take Huayramarca back to her roots of football, just making some enhancements that will make this system competitive enough to be a competitive force.

Fulbo is a common mispelling for fútbol in the Huayramarcan dialect of Spanish, also refered as the way that people grow in the streets, neighbourhoods and all places of Huayramarca use to play the sport. In the traditional sense, Huayramarcan football tends to be physical, both in strength, and intensity that is required to perform in an OK level. From the random dusty pitches in the highlands to the state-of-the-art premises that some stadiums boast across the nation, players are asked to never give up, to give everything they can in order to achieve victory; to the point of exploit loopholes in the football rules for their advantage.

Centrebacks are used to be relatively strong, as they will also try to outpace their rivals in physical strength, displaying rudeness and being prone to perform some harsh tackling when needed; there's no fear to get carded, it's a matter of avoiding the rival to score against their team. People in the villages often use an idiom to refer to what they accept as a good centreback "Either the ball or the player, but not both." Another main treat of them is that they tend to provoke or annoy rivals by trash-talking, trying to disconnect them from the match and make their own duties easier. Often, they will play near the midfield in order to force the rest of the team to press the rivals, limiting the playing area to the rival's half.

Sidebacks are one of the most important links of the team, as they don't restrict themselves to defend, they can often liberate pressure from the centrebacks by pushing the ball forward, be it through individuality or large crosses to the midfielder or the wingers. They use to have a nice speed and great spamina, enough to perform box-to-box routines frequently; they also link up with wingers when attacking through the sides, often engaging in a quick pass succession that leads to crossing the ball to the forward or a second-striker awaiting outside the area. Speed is useful for them, as they must be able to retreat and guarantee defensive numeric superiority when the rival tries to do a counter attack.

Midfielders: Although there are two clear roles here, being the destroyer and the playmaker, it can also be said that the role is pretty much indistinctive from who does it, as every one in this zone of the pitch is required to switch roles according to the scenario they might be facing at any moment; that's why this position is the most flexible under the big scheme of things in fulbo. As the name say, the destroyer is in charge to destroy any linking from the midfielders to the attackers when the Condors are protecting themselves from a counter, or avoid connections between defenders and the midfielders while the team is attacking, they can either tackle with clinical finesse or just aim to the rival's ankle, it all depends on how good they consider their rival, the better they are, the harsher will the destroyers act against those players.

The playmakers, in the other hand, can either be completely egocentrical or collaborative, that will depend of the very own personal treats of whoever takes the role in a very specific circumstance. Âgínsôgnó has given freedoms to the players in order to attack freely going in solos if they see a chance through, deliver the ball to a player that might be able to continue the idea of attacking or, simply, hold the ball until an opening appears or switching to destroyer and letting another player to find a gap that they might not notice.

Attackers: Tradition mandates two wingers and a spearhead, a forward that cautiously awaits a pass to slot it home. The wingers are instructed to serve the attacker or go through the defence and force a chance for themselves to score, similar to the defenders but not with the leeway to change sides, no, only instructions to provide enough tools for their decision-making process and promote more diverse ideas rather than focusing in a way to break through brute force. Âgínsôgnó also asks the attackers to bethe first line of defence of the National Team when the rivals commence a play, always through pincer plays or support from the creative midfielder; sometimes, the attackers can drop some metres to help in ball recovery efforts, then to start an attack with the help of the creative attacker.

The new Huayramarcan National Team, under the ideals of Âgínsôgnó, tries to makre sure that the ball can be held in the half of the rival team, as much as possible under Huayramarcan control, trying to create chances to break through the defence and score, or simply move the ball and cause fatigue on their rival as they try to chase the ball in vain. This style requires a lot of concentration from the players, stamina and need to collaborate and decide in a short time span, as dynamism is the name of the game, to never run out of ideas and outsmart the rival, that's the Huayramarcan 4-2-1-3.

Player’s description - Starting XI.

Nota bene: Caps considered after CAFA 6 - For national purposes, friendlies are never taken into consideration for official registries. Player names are clickable, displaying their portraits for visual reference.

N°1 - Juan Mamani - GK - 31 yrs - Team: Rülândéá Kôstä Image - Height: 1.88 mts - Caps: 284 - Goals: 1

Mamani is an individual that believes he always is right, he tends to be creative when saving balls or creating ideas to take the ball forward, based so much in the fact that he is protective, spontaneous and loves to be independent in his actions, always a dependable guy. Currently, his mood is ecsatic, as pretty much everybody in the team right now, due to the latest performance of the team. A curious fact is that he’s brother with the creative mid of this team, Ian Mamani.

N°2 - Kevin Quispe - RCB - 26 yrs - Team: Farrenton Athletic Image - Height: 1.75 mts - Caps: 285 - Goals: 8

An average guy in terms of intelligence that has no life plan, hence he left studies to make a living with football. He is very secretive, doesn't like even to tell his teammates what his next movement will be because he knows we will be wrong, Quispe has serious issues with anger management and may be rebellious, he is cold and ignores what the others might feel or think about him, he doesn't give a fu*k of anything. Anyways, he's in his best form so far with Farrenton Athletic, being nominated as one of the top defenders of the Euran League shows how his discipline and perseverance have taken him where he stands.

N°4 - Carlos Vilca - LFB - 32 yrs - Team: Valnohar Rovers FC Image - Height: 1.78 mts - Caps: 281 - Goals: 12

Vilca exemplifies the stereotype of a Serrano, he is overly analytical and optimistic, with patience when a player might approach to him, he might take some minutes to make a mental profile of who he will face and how to block him in its right side. Despite being coordinated and loving to be the centre of attention, he loves to be quiet and solitary with his own personal code of conduct, he might be extremely fair while robbing balls and could try to be the surprise factor, since he tends to be a box-to-box player that loves to defend and also create offensive plays when possible. Right now, he’s in a great personal moment due to his critical role that helped Huayramarca to put a cohesive defence during the last World Cup Qualifier.

N°15 – Paolo Manco - RFB - 30 yrs - Team: Pumahuasi FC Image - Height: 1.73 mts - Caps: 82 - Goals: 2

Paolo Manco has been a silent substitute of the National Team for almost 8 years, although, he has been patiently waiting up for this chance, the one that has opened in front of his eyes after the departure of Omar Caicedo. The new manager has seen Manco’s ability to project himself to attack and be a box-to-box player when needed, he has a great sense of placement and knows to be at the precise place when needed. Speed is Manco’s best attribute, one that he is sure that he can apply to provide the best results for The Condors. He is happy after proving that his inclusion, into the Starting XI, proved to be vital for the current Huayramarcan sporting momentum.

N°14 - Santiago Chumacero - LCB - 31 yrs - Team: FC Atahualpa Image - Height: 1.81 mts - Caps: 287 - Goals: 20

Chumacero's perception of things might be out of this world, his mind might be steps forward the others and might help to anticipate to movements that may be done by the rival. For that purpose, he's always flexible, active and plays like he would be killed if he does a mistake, he's loyal with his team, faithful and gentle, hence he might be the motivator of the squad. Chumacero is an extremely dependable player, and it would be matter of time to see him departing from the Huayramarcan Liga 1 for a better place, as his athletic capabilities are too big to stagnate in an amateur-ish league.

N°17 - Orlando Mina - CM - 28 yrs - Team: Montréal Koreana Image - Height: 1.95 mts - Caps: 285 - Goals: 26

One of the two defensive mid fielders of the team and, for sure, one of the best in the multiverse in his position, being the classical Costeño out there, Mina is the tallest and strongest player of the squad. Mina's attitude is being original and stubborn, giving you classical Costeño vibes, consistent in his performance and devoted to God, he cares a lot about what he does, since he tries always to correct his mistakes and not suffering on them, instead, he uses them as feedback to improve his game and abilities. Mina's a notable example on how one can benefit from football, as he helped his mother who was fired from his job when he joined to the Condors and turned her into a real estate tycoon by providing her savings. His mood is extremely positive as of now by the fact of being a key player in Montréal Koreana, for being consistent between team and national duty, and for his current status as a player.

N°11 - Ian Mamani - CF - 28 yrs - Team: Workers Union Image - Height: 1.65 mts - Caps: 285 - Goals: 65

The youngest of the Mamani brothers in this team, along with Juan, Ian has what Juan might lack sometimes, creativity and brightness, although they play in various positions and roles in the team. This creative mid and captain of the team is one of the grandiose things among this team, a fast-paced and fussy person with lots of potential, euphoria that drives him to perform as what he can do, being the best of the entire nation in his role. Large crosses are his specialty, including long-range shots when playing on the highlands. Right now, his performance has been stellar, mostly because he did some adjustments to his game style, turning his role into something more offensive and smarter.

N°8 - Nicolás Allauca - CF – 33 yrs - Team: Winnipeg United Image - Height: 1.80 mts - Caps: 287 - Goals: 26

Nico was a bus driver until the last three weeks prior to WC 85 Qualifiers, when he decided to enter to the amateur football world of Huayramarca, he was in luck that Caicedo watched him plat and fell in love on how he performed. Allauca is spontaneous and may not like to do training, he is a fast-moving and extremely practical (hates theories) defensive mid, that may mutate to a second creative mid with Ian Mamani and has also a decent capability to score goals while going to attack. After having a discrete performance in Chromatika, now he moves to Québec's Winnipeg United, where he expects to keep up the tone as he does with the National Team.

N°7 - Abraham Mendoza - LF - 29 yrs - Team: Pyathora Mariners Image - Height: 1.63 mts - Caps: 284 - Goals: 37

Nicknamed “El Ingeniero” The smallest of the entire team, Mendoza is a mentally strong individual who loves to work hard, play hard and be a strong leader inside the team in terms of order. A competent but realistic player who may not be spectacular while playing on the wings, but pragmatical and effective when achieving his purposes. On his personal life he is the best positioned of all the group, since he just graduated in Industrial Engineering at the Huayramarcan Technical University with a deserved "summa cum laude", so no matter what happens, he could get a decent job position in any Huayramarcan enterprise to optimize their processes. You might notice how Abraham's personal discipline is, and this is shown even to football, where he tries to compliment weaknesses that he may have as his height, but he tries to compensate with decent body-building routines. He might not be a prolific scorer for the standards of a winger, but he has at least a 35% of assists for the total of Huayramarcan goals scored during the Qualifiers, hence, somebody to take care of.

N°21 - Gabriel Sayritupac - RF - 29 yrs - Team: Shamrock Cathair Image - Height: 1.75 mts - Caps: 290 - Goals: 118

Sayri as he's known by many people in his native Tulcán (near the Québécois-Huayramarcan border) is an artistic person in all senses of his life. Usually, he makes a living by painting portraits of people visiting the Chimborazo National Forest Reserve, sometimes working on a local brewery, or doing football for fun. He doesn't stands being alone and might be that easy-going Serrano (which is weird, if we come to think it). He has genetic problems that makes him quite prone to injuries, and when those occur, Sayri decides to get inebriated to let frustration go away. An artistical winger, lover of uncertainty and mess that makes him be either the best or cause problems to settle where he plays. As of now, he has managed to find its way on football, winning a IFCF Champions’ League with Athletik Thessia, some championships in Mytanija and now being in Audioslavia, closer to home, but eager to win more.

N°21 - Bryan Tello - ST - 34 yrs - Team: Metropolis Alligators Image - Height: 1.86 mts - Caps: 288 - Goals: 240

A decently heighted Costeño as forward is always a neat solution for your goal needs, even more if you consider that he ages like wine; that, combined with good pace, stride, and physic abilities, makes Tello is what every team may need for up front. He's factual since he studied Philosophy at the University of Cumbayá, a committed and self-confident man who might be extremely traditional to his striker role, he might seek for space to go front, use his strength and move towards the goal. Tello is a strong leader among the shadows of the Huayramarcan national team, an outgoing and straight-forward person that could sometimes aggressive since he's prone to be insensitive. Despite that he is the Legend of the team, the striker that is at the right place and moment to push the ball against the net, something that has helped him retain his position as stellar striker of Metropolis Alligators in the Valladar Liga-1.

Nota bene: In order to have a deeper understanding of Huayramarcan players, take in consideration the following list of personalities for the substitutes. Take time, if you wish, to read the substitute players list posted again down here and follow the order of said list. The first player on this list, has his mindset reflected in the left of the first row, the second in the right of the first row and so on until the last one:

The Kits:
Huayramarca’s social mindset is to aim for local consumption in the long term, hence the HFF decided to hire “eva Sportswear” to manufacture the kits for the national team. “eva” decided to take the ball out of the park with unique designs for Huayramarca, reflecting the national identity and adding up motivational phrases on them for mere sake of marketing. Those kits are based on the geography of this nation, from the coast to the highlands and jungle to promote a sense of national unity, especially on a stage that the national team is trying to consolidate its name in the exciting multiverse of football.

Some of the backgrounds feature Túpac Katari, one of the most famous indigenous fighters from the Sierra, who kept invaders away from Huayramarcan soil, and helped forging the alliance that gave birth to what we known as the Plurinational State of Huayramarca. Nevado Inti as symbol of strength, and a statement of outstanding size that is the highest mountain in Anaia. The force of nature such as Longevity Valley in Huancavilca, the River Yaraví, and the Rainbow Mountain, as symbols of diversity, power and unity that last through time, with an unstoppable pace.

“eva” decided to depict elements that provide sense of pride and national identification for Huayramarcans, no matter where they are from, those are universal icons of what Huayramarca is and its roots. Strong roots, legacy, and people forging their future with faith, pride, and hope.

Because the rental price set by private fields was to high, the government build a national sports complex with baseball, soccer and gridiron fields and an hockey arena. The National Sports Complex is located in the small Sacré-Coeur district, close to downtown. Sacré-Coeur, or Sagrado Corazon, is also known as the Latin district due to it's large hispanophone population.

Both stadiums (Soccer Field 1 and Soccer Field 2) have many VIP boxes, press boxes, restaurant stands, camera booths, up to date video, scoreboard and lights technology.

Squad for CAFA 7

GOALKEEPERS
## Position Name Age Club
1 G Constance Creighton 31 Shamrock Cathair
21 G Curipurinho 31 AC Izotz Zubia
22 G Hein Hélder 18 Cazadores Cathair
Audioslavian goalkeepers tend to be wild-eyed heretics, preaching forbidden sermons from the Gospel According to Saint Get Rid Of It Then?!. Your average Audioslavian goalie is about 6'1 max and more likely to punch crosses to safety rather than risk going for a catch. When the ball's at the other end of the field, Audioslavian keepers can be found strutting around the edge of their area like a peacock, shouting instructions at their strikers as if the speed of sound didn't exist. Current number one Creighton is 5'11 and stocky, quieter than usual but making up for volume shortcomings with his heavy use of violent sexual imagery when shouting. Audioslavia is a solid 6/10 for goalkeepers.

Centre Halves
## Position Name Age Club
2 D RC Everton Bolding 31 Sabrefell Moths
5 D C Sandy Harkness 30 Cardonia FC
6 D C Valerién Tibère 29 1830 Cathair
15 D RC Uriah Malcolm 16 1830 Cathair
16 D RC Ronan Corver 21 Shamrock Cathair
Audioslavian centre halves are tall by local standards (5'10 - 6'2) but in international football are often lacking a bit of power compared to their opposite numbers. Bolding is an exception in terms of power - the wide-set full-back-turned-centre-half is not so good in the air but boasts a high top speed. 16 year-old Uriah Malcom will likely be on the bench, but may be the shortest centre-half in the tournament at just 5'6. Fortunately, he's possibly also the quickest. Audioslavians are 6/10 for centre-halves, which is one of the reasons Savigliane international Valerién Tibère was drafted into the squad the second his former nation dissolved.

Full Backs
## Position Name Age Club
3 D LC Frey Pelle 25 Clayquot City
13 D CL Adalberto Mazzarelli 28 Osarese Marcadia
20 D R Alex Bocker 18 Cazadores Cathair
26 D/M LC Christian Ragland 20 Oljestaden IF
Audioslavian full-backs are basically wingers that can stay sober for long enough to pay their taxes. Typically a 9/10 position for Audioslavian teams, the current 'Post-Tiago Brown' era of full-backs haven't quite set the world alight. Alaba has usually opted for Bolding or midfielder Reuben Corkhill at right-back for a little more solidity, and may employ teenager Uriah Malcom there occasionally this tournament. On the left side, Pelle has finally earned a call-up after his strong performances plying his trade in Kelssek.

Defensive Midfielders
## Position Name Age Club
4 DM C Iker Munir 30 AC Izotz Zubia
17 DM C Lucas Keir 32 Shamrock Cathair
24 DM C Iñigo Higgs 30 Cazadores Cathair
Alaba's insistence on having a versatile, all-action DM at Zozi has rubbed off on the national team, who tend to select at least three in each squad. Higgs is generally accepted as being the better of these three, but Alaba trusts Munir to play the water-carrier more than he does Higgs to play the spoiler. Bulls teams are typically 6/10 for defensive midfielders. For information on what happens when a nation of shithouses produces top quality defensive midfielders, please consult our entry on Brenecian Midfielders, which you might find under the subheading of Major National League Imports

Central Midfielders
## Position Name Age Club
8 M C Gabriel Buvalelli 31 Osarese Marcadia
18 M C Unai Cappadonna 33 AC Izotz Zubia
19 D/M C Reuben Corkhill 34 KT Moreazerua
Audioslavian football is always a bit 4/10 for central midfielders. Cappadonna is a reliable playmaker but is getting a little long in the tooth. Buvalelli is the second of the Savigliano imports in this roster, and takes over the all-action role vacated by a retiring Stelea.

Wingers
## Position Name Age Club
7 AM CR Brandon Bruhn 22 Shamrock Cathair
11 M L Marc-Antoine Trigintillion 26 Shamrock Cathair
14 M RL Gaetano Torrado 28 KT Itzalovalle
23 M L Gael Davie 24 Bombarralense
Typically a 10/10 position for the Bulls, what with the national team's historical insistence on playing a counter-attacking game. Marc-Antoine Trigintillion, the bald-headed Shamrock winger, is the star here. Also at Shamrock, Brandon Bruhn is a firecracker on the right hand side. At 5'5 and lightly built he can be bullied by opposing full-backs, but his terrier-like resilience and acceleration makes him plainly annoying to play against.

Forwards
## Position Name Age Club
9 AM/F C Wilhelm Hielscher-Zendagorta 29 Cazadores Cathair
10 AM/F C Helios Roy 30 Raynor City United
12 AM/F C Jean-Marc Casquecassé 26 1830 Cathair
Audioslavian strikers are often solid 8/10s, and will almost always be listed with the numbers 9, 10, 12 and 19. Nobody really remembers why. Either way, Roy and Zendagorta are the main attractions here. The former won the league with Osarius Marcadia and now plies his trade for the Rawrcrush Cinematic Universe while you may have seen Wilhelm Hielscher-Zendagorta in an S+T shirt. Half Audioslavian, half Teus, WHZ just goes by the Audioslavian of his two names for the national team. Roy is the finisher, Zendagorta the all-action striker.

Style Modifier: -5
Penalties: Zendagorta (placement > power), Roy (tries to be too clever)
Corners: Munir
Free Kicks: Cappadonna (placement), Bolding (power), Munir (cross)

Likely starting lineup: Creighton - Corver (Malcom), Bolding (Corkhill), Harkness, Tibère, Pelle - Bruhn, Buvalelli (Cappadonna), Munir (Higgs), Trigintillion - Roy (Zendagorta)

Potted history
  • Audioslavia reached the finals of World Cups 12, 19, 20 and 29, losing all of them and gaining a reputation as a team that chokes.
  • After thirty cycles away, Audioslavia returned to win the Baptism of Fire before World Cup 59, won the AOCAF Cup in cycle 60 and then won back-to-back World Cups in cycles 63 and 64. That's the golden generation right there.
  • Things went back to normal after that. The side lost a few more major finals, including World Cups 67, 69 and 76.
  • Recent cycles have seen Audioslavia fall to the midfield in the rankings, failing to qualify for three World Cups in a row before reaching the first round of WC94. That disappointment has been offset by victory in CAFA Cup 3 and Cup of Harmony 83, both in Cycle 91.
  • Audioslavia is one of two nations to have won five major senior titles - BoF, CoH, WC plus two different regional championships. They recently became the only team in history to have recorded 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed finishes in each of the three WCC tournaments, plus regional competition.
  • Recently discovered in the history books: A regional tournament for the now-defunct FIFA region, held before World Cup 28. Audioslavia won this tournament, but do not consider it to be an official regional title unless Nepharans are in the room.

Style of Play
  • Post Football is the name given to Audioslavia's style of play. It's based on the idea that, the less the game resembles football, the more ill at ease your opponents will be. Audioslavia play dirty, sideways and overly cautiously.
  • Kontrapuntzeka is another word for it. Literally meaning counter-attacking, Audioslavia's national team are comfortable playing without the ball and charging forward in numbers when they do finally get it. Each player on this team has a deep understanding of how, when and where to attack on the counter. Losing the ball and allowing the Bulls to hit you on the break can be fatal to even the best teams in the multiverse.
  • Audioslavian managers have started trying to get the defenders to pass the ball around the back to entice their opponents forward. Audioslavian defenders hate this almost as much as Audioslavian fans.
  • Our footballers tend to be on the shorter, leaner side, with everyone outside of the goalie, centre forward and centre half topping out at about 5'10.
  • Audioslavian footballers are often tenacious, with the highest levels of stamina you'll see in world football. Audioslavian sides are often capable of playing at a high-tempo for long periods of time, and wins are often through attrition rather than skill.
  • Audioslavian teams are notorious for gamesmanship - the bending of the rules in order to gain an advantage. Players will taunt, feign injury, surround the referee, basically anything if it seems like it'd be beneficial. Audioslavians feel no shame in this. As far as they're concerned, their willingness to go further than the other team is a sign that they're more dedicated than their opponents might be. What might be considered dishonourable behaviour for you might be considered normal in Audioslavia.
  • Audioslavian teams fear losing. It's our greatest weakness and, given how this fear manifests itself in big games, a powerful irony
  • As well as lacking a bit of raw power, Audioslavian footballers often lack technique compared to their foreign counterparts.
  • Above all else though, what Audioslavian national teams often lack is heart. The worse things are going, the worse Audioslavians play. They're the classic bully. When things don't pan out as they expect, they retreat physically and mentally.

The Manager
Old enough to have been born in independent Ittuributa, formerly a player at Royal Association and Apox's Urbanista Trojans, when Alaba joined KT Itzalovalle for just $200,000 in the eleventh transfer window, he surely can't have imagined he would be calling Audioslavia his home for the next twenty-five cycles.

He stayed as a player for over ten years, making dozens of appearances in the UICA Globe Cup, IFCF Champions League and IFCF Challengers Cup. His own declining years coincided with that of his club, however. Limited to a handful of games, and arguably a handful more than he should have been playing as a 39 year-old, Alaba was relegated with Itzi at the end of National League Season 6 (current season: 23). Retiring early the next season, Alaba would find the managerial reigns of the club offered to him as it languished near the bottom of the second division, teetering on the brink of a humiliating descent into the third tier. Alaba scraped together enough points for an eighth placed finish, achieved promotion the following season and, after propelling his club to fifth and sixth placed finishes over the next two seasons, mounted a real charge for the title in season eleven, missing out on the league title to Cazadores by just two points.

With Itzi's board refusing to back Alaba further in the transfer market, the Astograthian would leave the club he'd spent seventeen seasons at before the start of season twelve in a shock move, joining area rivals AC Izotz Zubia, with whom he won a first league title in five seasons for the men in salmon and silver. Three more league titles, two Kirola Cups, two Tropicorp Super Cups would follow over the next eight seasons as Alaba built a side that finished in the top three in every single cycle he managed. Notably in season seventeen, his Zozi side finished a point behind his old club, KT Itzalovalle, a club who would perhaps not have been so competitive at the top had he not worked his magic there a decade prior.

Alaba left Zozi after eight seasons, lured by a not insignificant amount of money from the national team. His first cycle was a mixed-bag, exiting the CAFA Cup early and failing to qualify for the World Cup, but the fact that Audioslavia's performance in qualifying put among the top ten best teams in terms of points scored, and the fact that he managed to lead the side to victory against a stacked line-up of knockout opponents in the Cup of Harmony, meant he was given a contract extension by the FFA. Last cycle's qualification for World Cup 94 - Audioslavia's first foray into the last 32 for three cycles, was considered a success despite a shakier performance in qualifying and a failure to reach the second round.

This team
Yes, it's five at the back, yes, Alaba is conforming to Audioslavian football's natural defensiveness, perhaps overly so, but it's not just a parked bus. Wing-backs maraud forward when possible, counter-attacking is the name of the game.

  • Helios Roy has become the fulcrum of the side's attack. First-person accounts of games are usually written through his eyes.
  • Wilhelm Hielscher-Zendagorta, a half-Audioslavian, half-Teus striker with caps for Siovanija and Teusland. S+T's departure from international football freed the striker up to represent another national team, according to the Valrauncion rule, and has duly been selected for Audioslavia.
  • Valerién Tibère and Gabriel Buvalelli are both Savigliano players who have been awarded Audioslavian passports following their claim for asylum after the dissolution of their home nation. Both have been selected due to the Valrauncion rule. The former is one of the most dependable centre halves in the league, while former FC Riziéres and Shamrock Cathair midfielder Buvalelli has been a star midfielder in the National League for nine seasons now.

Home, Away, Third.

Home shirt is traditionally worn with white shorts and socks, but if our opponents are wearing that colour then we switch to the same deep red as the shirts. This is what usually ends up happening. Dark green or black shorts have been worn on occasion.

Shorts for our change strip will be either purple (away), white (away, third) or Anaia Green (third)

Mertagne are back for the 7th edition of the CAFA Cup, and this tournament is being used as a springboard for a new generation of the Mertagnian senior team. Several names are out and newer, younger ones have moved in, as well as some unsung heroes from the Mertagnian domestic scene that have managed to have a bit of a resurgence in their careers.

Likely starting in goal is one of Mertagne's best exports in Rhiannon Fawn, who is continuing to carve out a name for herself over in Nephara, being a stalwart of side Starling for several cycles now. Her acrobatic style of diving for the ball gives her the ability to claim a shot when she really had no right to, for sides that place accuracy over power and attempt to stop the 27 year old from getting her mitts on the ball. For other goalkeeper options, Cedric Millard is tossed onto the pitch whenever things just don't seem to be working - his head full of various mantras and general unpredictability seem to unnerve the opposing attack into running out of steam by the time they've managed to reach him. Coming up in the Mertagnian domestic league will do that to a goalkeeper, as in the SLAM there are no draws - after 90 minutes, keepers are subjected to the onslaught of penalties in the event of a tie. Young Pertinax Tikeers is rolled out when the opposing side is utilising their power players, as his shot stopping ability is enough to hook the ball out from what would likely be a slammer into the back of the net.

In the defence, the first options include a pressing centre of Haizene Fairchild and Honorio Menez, who will be looking to tackle the ball and dribble it back towards the midfield before the opposition have the chance to drag themselves back to their defending third. In the event that doesn't work, the defence can easily pivot around Txomin Huon, who can readily win the ball and flick it to Lloyd Seddon, a capable long passer who can ensure that the ball is played out to the sides. Karon Murell will continue to ratchet the ball forwards with her methodical play, and Sabrina Aikman will complement her on the other side of the pitch, still one of Mertagne's fastest players.

The midfield is now set around the centre of Jordan Will, who excels at giving the strikers an opportunity to get behind the ball and smash a shot into the back of the net. Rowan Emberson, team captain this time around due to his experience, will be communicating to get his line and the forward line synced up to create a way around the opposing defence. In the event that more attacking pressure is needed, Stewart Bickley provides a touch close to goal or is more than happy to dribble the ball up towards the box.

For attacking options, Mertagne has plenty to go with. Holly Eveson is vital as an option to provide the ball to any of the other strikers, and is often seen trying to win the ball in the event it's been lost deep in the opponent's half. If a cross is coming, it's likely from Eveson, and it's often headed toward Burro Curwood, who is capable of getting a handle on even the most awry of passes. Often, if Curwood can't find goal from his position, the ball will be passed over to Lewis Travers, who prefers to finish an attack rather than start one. In the event that the centre of the pitch is a little too crowded, options such as Kim Le Maistre and Tevente Kings can drop wide and wait for the ball to be sent out to them, create space, and possibly play with some funky angles when it's time to score.

CAFA VII: Paterian Playtime

A Kharakian and Hawklandian joint bid

Image

Welcome back to Anaia! We hope you had fun during World Cup Qualifiers, traveling all over the multiverse, but now you’re here, back on familiar ground, with nothing but familiar nations all around. Speaking of familiar nations, your favorite children are back in school, and are around familiar faces of their own, for better or for worse. But since it just started, we don’t have any homework yet, so we decided to give ourselves some. (Potentially.)

As the beaches reflect the glistening ocean light into the towns of the Kharakian coast, and a bright aurora surrounds the dark skies and snowy mountains of United Hawkland, the yearn for football is always present, cultures, geographies, and languages may have spread us apart over the years, but we can all be united by football. And unity is what we all need. Conflicts and fighting and name-calling is so rampant these days in our great region, but why be mad when you can kick a ball into a very large net? That is what we are wondering, and that's what we want to fix. Hey, all you awesome Anaia nations, if you're mad at someone or something, big or small, come play soccer with us. Seriously, at least one of you will end up super happy by the end of the cup. Let's forget the fights and focus on kicking that ball into the net. We all need some unity, and soccer is our secret weapon to bring smiles and good vibes back to our awesome region!

Format: The group stage will be the Swiss/Casaran System, similar to a round robin, but once you lose twice, you’re out.

This is preferably with 24 entrants, 4 groups of 6.

It can also work with 20 entrants, 2 groups of 10. (potentially 4 groups of 5)

Or 32 entrants, 4 groups of 8.

With 4 groups, the last 2 remaining in each group will advance to the knockout, and with 2 groups, it will be the last 4 remaining in each group. Goal differential will be the main tiebreaker, followed by goals for, goals against, head to head goal differential, and finally, if somehow necessary, a coin flip.

Tech: Xkoranate 0.3.3, SQIS, neutral venues, standard +/- 5 style mods, and using the most up-to-date CAFA rankings.

Cut-offs: Entries will be cut off on September 9th at 1:00 AM UTC. This may be extended if the entrant count is not at a level that can be used in a proper group system (with no byes).

RP Cutoffs will take place every other day between 9:00 PM UTC and 10:00 PM UTC. (5-6 PM EST, 2-3 PST, 9-10 PM EST, 5-6 AM Singapore)

Host experience: Kharakia has not hosted any major international tournaments but is home to a domestic league. United Hawkland has hosted the Anaian Ice Hockey Championship I in the past and is also home to a domestic league.

FAQ:
Q: Why should we trust you two to host?
A: Although we have been kind of immature in the past, we are taking this very seriously and are not treating this as a joke.

Q: Why are you doing this?
A: We both want to host. From my (UHL’s) experience, it isn’t that awful and I think we can both pull it off. We aren’t without our flaws, (nobody is.) but we can certainly host the CAFA Cup. I believe in the both of us.

Q: Can we trust United Hawkland to create incredible and breathtaking designs for CAFA Cup 7?
A: I mean, I wouldn’t.

Q: Why do the Swiss system instead of a regular group stage? Doesn’t that over-complicate things?
A: Yes, but also it is very silly and fun.

We are prepared to quickly answer any questions about our bid, as neither of us have a life outside of this website.

The history of the Pyazhnayan national team has been marked by a few ups, a couple of downs and a lot of flatness. The fact they managed to reach the final of both of the last two CAFAs is a sign that the team has a lot of quality, but the fact that they lost both of them also signals that there's still work to be done. Will they be able to have the third one the charm? Only time will tell!

Aleksandr Zavrashin has managed to cement his position as Pyazhnayan national coach after a two CAFA final appearances and respectable WC qualifying campaigns. He is a proponent of a flexible 4-4-2 formation and an offensive style to surprise the opposing teams!

Star Player: Cocoabo #86

Cocoabo #86 is truly the star of the Cocoabo Squad. Although the Cocoabo Squad have not participated in a full World Cup campaign since World Cup 80, Cocoabo #86 continues to receive the occasional call up to support the World Cup Rosters and was credited as a reserve player during Turori's World Cup 88 Championship Run. Due to the fact that Turori itself does not historically participate in regional competition, the Cocoabo Squad currently align independently at the regional level of multiversal footsport.

HISTORY

Chromatika first entered the World Cup in Cycle 73, going a modest 3-2-7. They made the Cup of Harmony in Cycle 74, and qualified for the first time in Cycle 75, losing in the Round of Sixteen. Chromatika would have their most successful campaign in World Cup 76, making it to the 3rd place Playoff before finishing in fourth place, despite the domestic upheaval in the country. Their first Manager, Franscesca Larriet-Cortes, was martyred at the end of World Cup 75; the political stresses of the job made it so that Lisa Amos, the team's Manager after Franscesca, resigned after World Cup 76.

The team would enjoy continued success from World Cup 77 through World Cup 81, as Silian Parker helped the squad qualify for the World Cup every time, and the team even made it to the Round of Sixteen or beyond three of those times. Even when Chromatika didn't enter World Cup 82, their return to the World Cup in 83 was a success, though both World Cup 83 and 84 saw the Anomalies stymied at the Proper Group Stage - 84 being under new management in Nepharan Konrad Evans.

World Cup 85 was a disaster - the team didn't qualify and didn't even make a deep run in the Cup of Harmony, leading to the sacking of Evans and the appointment of Richard Valens of Krytenia and Tim Landers of Delaclava. The team would qualify in World Cup 86, and 87, host the World Cup in 88, and return to the Proper in 89. However, Chromatika was not making the deep runs that the nation wanted/needed, so they said goodbye to Valens and Landers and looked inward.

Sandra Sybill and Rachel Hellion, key figures during Chromatika's runs in the early days, stepped in. A loss to Nyowani Kitara meant that they were eliminated, but the team turned around and won the 82nd Cup of Harmony. The following cycle, they made it to the Playoffs, where a loss in penalties to Zeta Reka and Hügeltaldom sealed the fate of Sybil and Hellion. Lisa Amos stepped in to lead the team to a respectable Quarterfinal finish in the resulting Cup of Harmony, and Chromatika was left wondering just how far they were away from the glory days.

Lev Repin came in, promising glory - and the Anomalies grabbed it off the cuff, winning their Group to qualify ahead of Ko-oren. Put into a group with Turori, Eura, and Cassadaigua, the Anomalies lost to Turori 3-0 before recovering to win narrowly over Eura and Cassadaigua. They'd fall 1-2 to perennial powerhouses Græntfjall, but they had finally broken back through.

They've recently bucked all odds and made it to the World Cup Final, losing to Banija in heartbreaking fashion, then Banija again in heartbreaking fashion. This CAFA squad is a bit of a rotated one, while seeing a few key players off.

A footballing legend who had 177 caps for Mytanija at full back during his playing days, Lev Repin is in the middle of a three-cycle contract by the Chromatik Football Federation, with the option of extending for two more cycles before renegotiating. A schemer tactically and a passionate figure, Repin has already delivered on his promise of leading the Chromatiks back to the World Cup Proper, and excited to do more. He brings the vaunted 3-5-2/3-4-1-2 system to Chromatika, which has led to significant turnover among the players’ roles and positions. Blunt, utterly unapologetic, and singularly minded toward success, he has been exactly what Chromatika needed to break out of its slump and return to take its place among the footballing elite of the world. The formation is starting to be used across all levels, and Repin's fingerprints are all over the current state of Chromatik football. Now having led the team to the World Cup Final, Chromatika is having Repin fever, and after the team fell short in the recent Round of Sixteen, he's agreed to the two-cycle extension.

PHY ImageZoe "Z" Benne | Age 45 | Debut Cycle: 80
Once a heartthrob, Zoe Benne is married to former Chromatik superstar Erika Morningstar. Zoe has been a constant for eleven cycles now, and has had to treat everything from sprained ankles to serious injuries. She remains a great asset.

SMC ImageShelby Arling | Age: 31 | Debut Cycle: 87
With new management in place, the presence of Arling as the Social Media Coordinator is very important. All questions go through her, and she takes away any and all distractions.

GOALKEEPERS

With Juxon Fillar celebrating the birth of his firstborn - Matthias Galvin Fillar - the gloves have been handed over to one Kathie Begley, the best keeper of the Chromatik Red League in recent history, and a master at reading the flow of the game. She's stated this will be her last year representing Chromatika at the international level, and the Anomalies will be motivated to send off one of the best to ever don the black and white, even if she was never the consensus best keeper in the country.

Two keepers have burst onto the scene as of late. Do Seung-Min has very good peripheral vision. When normally, keepers need to turn their heads to keep track of the ball, Do's excellent vision means that he is apt at faking out scorers by making them unaware of the fact that he was aware. His emergence at 1923 Esca has helped the team return to contention in Mytanija, and success at the international stage. Ahead of him by the slimmest of margins is one Hailee Sourtois, the heir-apparent in most circles of Juxon Fillar. With tremendous aerial reach, command of area, and jumping reach, Sourtois is a master of the aerial game. Possessing strong metal faculties with communication and decision-making, the Goalkeeper also has decent work rate, vision, and teamwork, along with positioning. Not the most natural of athletes, her quickness, aggression, and bravery could use some work, but decent anticipation, agility, and balance, along with high stamina make her one of the best goalkeeping prospects of her age group. She won the starting job at Sabrefell Athletic a season ago, and the team has been successful both domestically and at the international level.

CENTRAL DEFENDERS

Repin's system requires three in the back - and that has really stretched out Chromatika's defensive core. With Moira Ansov and Keira Anbient taking the tournament off to recuperate from minor injuries, Ami Coulibaly fills in at Right Centre, the Banijan/Chromatik dual-national starting to show as one of the bright prospects for this team. Known for her friendship with the Tumbran Golden Duo of Trudy Harrison and Stephen Kerr at Chromatik, Coulibaly uses dogged determination and endless motor to frustrate her foes; she is also quite good on her feet and in passing the ball up the pitch. Henri de Aea is one of the best to every put on the black and white uniform, and has stated that at the age of thirty-four, this will be his last tournament as well. Remaining at large as an aerial defender and a sure tackler, de Aea's career is one that shows just what can happen if someone takes risks. Just having completed his fourteenth World Cup as a member of the Anomalies, his legend as one of the best players to ever wear the checkered black and white continues to grow every time he steps onto the pitch. A master communicator and a decent tactician, de Aea is a irreplaceable piece of the squad - and he's just eclipsed two hundred caps, a record that not even the legendary Keira Andisori was able to accomplish. To his left will be one Ipati Aimée, who was the second choice Left Back three cycles ago. A traditional type defender who's quite good at clearing away headers, playing man-to-man, and possessing a robust skillset, Aimée is great at holding down the back line and helping anchor the squad to hold onto late leads. She isn't the most offensive of the options, but can provide solid minutes defensively.

With Coulibaly and Aimée promoted to the top line, the second line will see Paisley Paterson. Born to a Chromatik mother and a Licentian father, Paterson grew up in Chromia, and only started football about five years ago. With size, pace, and most of all, a mentality of steel, Paterson has shown that she can be an enforcer on the pitch, not shying away from contact without drawing too many fouls. Her aerial game is still a cause for concern, but the dogged determination with which she pursues every play has made her an instant favorite no matter which coaching staff she works with. Her rising ability has reached the eyes of the CFF, who were impressed with how she performed at the DBC and called her up as Chromatika is a bit short on DCRs. Their faith has been rewarded, as Paterson has set herself up to the point where she is playing for Shamrock Cathair in Audioslavia. Klavida Régine has the unfortunate distinction of being behind Henri de Aea in the depth chart, but her ability to overcome her lack of height with the busiest feet makes her a mainstay on this squad. Almost like a hound dog at times with how doggedly she pursues anyone that dare cross her, she has been noted to be annoying by her opponents time and time again. Her feet absolutely never stop moving during the game, and that endless pace results in many a tired opponent. Twilight Mixon rounds out this group, possessing great fundamentals along with the ability to move forward up the pitch as the situation warrants. Gwina Ansoll steps in as the extra defender, a player who was just an aerial defender but has become more than just that, growing more and more into a complete defender with speed and physicality.

WIDE DEFENDERS/WING BACKS

In Repin's system, these players will be asked to do so much - pin their ears back and defend, or sometimes run up the field and add to the attack. Some of them are better at some aspect of that than others. Grayson Fillar is a bullheaded, stubborn, physical right back will will outright impose his will on his opponents. Overshadowed by his younger sister, the electric Baillaire, Grayson was the one who actually chose to finish high school in Chromatika before making the move to 1830 Cathair. Though he says that he's proud of his sister (and he probably is), there is a deeply competitive streak in him that demands that he also make a name for himself atop Chromatika's slew of Fillars. On the pitch, he knows how to use his size to its utmost advantage, almost appearing larger than he is at times. He also understands the importance of momentum and tone, leading to his not being shy to commit a foul if one is needed. He has presence, physicality, and endurance, and has added an offensive edge to his game by providing some pace and some through-balls to the front. Alongside him is Edith Fillar, the next coming of Megan Kelly, or the Chromatik winger who's short but can run circles around would-be defenders and take over the game due to where she is on the pitch. She may not be the quickest off the ball, but she has the relentlessness that has been present on many great Chromatik wingers. With the mindset of a drill sergeant who is definitely the strictest on herself, she has eighty-one caps and thirty-two goals at only twenty-two years of age - her age of dominance is only just starting, and time is on her side. She's added playing man-to-man defense to her arsenal of formidable skills, as well as the ability to contribute long-range assists with deadly, precise crosses.

For the players behind these two, any of them can be used at any time - what they provide are all distinct and unique enough to be sought after. Emilie Kreutzberg is recognizable due to a magnificent mane of red hair, and a dynamic playmaker who is a swarmer, endlessly trying to be around the ball on the attacking end to tire out the defender and take the shot. She can be a tad overaggressive at times, often leading to being offside, but she scores or contributes to scoring chances enough times to make up for it. Expect her to assist whomever is the Striker in the formation with constant pressure in front of the goal. She is a very offensively minded piece, as is the electrifying Ibayashi Haitou, who has earned a more important spot after progressing immensely in Quebec and Shingoryeo. He is very good at keeping pace and dropping medium to long crosses. He still struggles with playing through contact, but has the natural aptitude for vision and flow of the match while becoming Mipojoseon's starter. Lastly, there is Cyrus Vette, who immediately gains attention due to his ability to be a creative winger who can shoot with either foot, pass the ball on to the striker in the formation, or even head things in.

DEEP-LYING MIDFIELDERS

Any formation needs at least one Defensive Midfielder, and Chromatika has the pick of the lot at the position, even after the retirement of Enigma Armageddon and Leysa Burns from the National Team. Kaia Larriet-Cortes, the niece of the late Franscesca Larriet-Cortes, is an even-keeled Defensive Midfielder best described as a younger, female Enigma Armageddon. Both of them are imposing, both of them lead on the pitch, and both of them know how to contribute offensively when needed. Where Enigma commands attention by physical presence, Kaia is more subtle, being in all the right places at right times. She is often the visionary on the pitch. She is often the visionary on the pitch, and nearing a hundred caps before age thirty. Mare Si, the Yassaca star, is the backup, being a holding midfielder who then developed her shooting game to incorporate set pieces as well. The complete package, she'll play the Defensive Midfielder who has the capability to shoot if the opposition is caught napping. On the squad, she is known as the team's patient assassin, as her playmaking ability increases the longer the game goes.

Kateryna Zuniga is the annoying man-to-man defender that one can never shake, having over a hundred and twenty caps to her name and having survived the careers of both Armageddon and Burns to earn the spot as the #1 Defensive Midfielder for the Anomalies for a long while. She may now be third on the list and not starting the biggest matches, but her locker room presence cannot be denied. Both Si and Zuniga have stated that this will be their last tournament as part of the Anomalies.

ADVANCED MIDFIELDERS

Depending on the formation, these roles can be taken by two other Midfielders that contribute to the attack, or a Central Midfielder and an Attacking Midfielder to differentiate the roles. Baillaire Fillar is the flashiest of the Fillars, subscribing to the Hermaeus Mora/Haley Hauser school of Attacking Midfielders, marrying both styles by shooting first and asking questions later while making deep runs into opposing territory. With a creative and dramatic flair that doesn't really exist in other Chromatiks from the past, Baillaire is a playmaker through and through. Having crested a hundred caps in the last World Cup, she's continued to mature in her game, and shows no signs of slowing down in her growth. Vasiliy Marten Kuznetsov had to decide between LWB and AM being his major role, and the veteran chose AM to allow LWBs to be filled out by others. Having learned how to position in the left-center side of a 3-5-2 as needed, VMK will be best utilized in the 3-4-1-2 version. A star who can do it all - drop back and defend, counter, cross, and shoot from range - Kuznetsov remains humble and focused on the final, ultimate goal - returning to the World Cup Final and this time winning it. Haley Hauser is the shoot first, ask questions later Attacking Midfielder, scoring averaging a goal every three appearances. She remains one of the biggest scoring threats on this roster alongside VMK and Lavrentiy Xuen-Zhukov, even if coming off the bench. Alissar Phoen, on the other hand, is an ambidextrous shooter who actually prefers range to up close. With creativity and dramatic scoring ability, he has only scored in less than a Quarter of appearances, leading to some questioning if his skills are applicable on the international stage but showing that he can compensate with deadly crosses.

CENTRAL FORWARDS

Welcome back to prominence, Strikers. After a system which needed more of assist-minded players to play the position, Strikers are back and in full force. Lavrentiy Xuen-Zhukov was the best suited for Repin's style of play - averaging a goal per match and becoming a crowd favorite for Chromatika. Zhukov is a Complete Forward that uses a combination of pace, stamina, and acceleration to fly past the opposition and score. He was the fastest ever to reach more than twenty goals, having scored twenty-seven in twenty-six - all before age twenty - and he's third on the all-time list of goalscorers already, and that before the age of twenty-one. Candice Delaya, on the other hand, is decent with both her feet and her head, humble, and can show up in big games. Her ideal pace of play is lurking right in front of the defensive line, waiting for the one ball to create the chance for her to pounce on.

Elaine Howard-Dawes, the shooter who's lethal from close to midrange, can contribute as long as she doesn't need to get past someone to achieve that shot - she's working on that. Having had a breakout tournament, she finds herself third on the depth chart after a move to Tumbra. Finding recent success also is one Marietta "Marie" Faucheux, a complete forward through and through who uses either foot to shoot from any range. Rounding out the squad is Hank Killian, who's lost the starting job, but remains on the squad due to being a pure playmaker who's willing to do it all, or in some cases, too much at times.

TACTICAL INFORMATION
(Many thanks to Mytanija for the blueprint.)

Chromatika's 3-4-1-2 is based off of Mytanija's formation.

3-4-1-2 – IN POSSESSION: Chromatika's base formation for World Cup 93 proper is a 3-4-1-2. This means there will be 3 central defenders, a wing-back on either side, 2 central midfielders, an attacking midfielder and 2 strikers on the pitch at any one time. This does not mean that the team will play in these positions for the whole game, as Chromatiks have adopted the Mytanar philosophy of flexibility in and out of possession, utilizing the fact that until very recently, they ran a 4-3-2-1/4-4-1-1. When Chromatika has the ball the 3-4-1-2 will change into more of a 3-2-5 shape, this is designed to try to create overloads in attacking areas so that the Chromatiks can create two versus one situations where the opposition have to make decisions on who they will engage with.

This 3-2-5 will be achieved firstly by one of the wing-backs (from the starting line-up, this would be right-sided wing-back Grayson Fillar) moving into a central midfield position to play alongside the deeper-lying of the two central midfielders (Kaia Larriet-Cortes, if among the Starting XI). This creates a pairing in central midfield which will be used to help the team build-up, providing passing options both in front of the central defensive three and the 5 players which end-up ahead of them.

That 5 is made-up of the opposite-sided wing-back (in this example it would be left wing-back Edith Fillar), the more advanced central midfielder (Baillaire Fillar), the attacking midfielder (Vasiliy Marten Kuznetsov); and the strikers (usually Xuen-Zhukov and Delaya). The wing-back has to push on to achieve the 3-2-5 shape, getting into the final third and maintaining the width on their side of the pitch. They will be given some license to get into the penalty area if the ball is on the other side, giving another option for their teammates. The more advanced central midfielder will be tasked with playing inside of the wing-back, in the so-called ‘half-space’, they will look to work with the wing-back to create an overload on their side of the pitch.

The attacking midfielder and the two strikers will interchange fairly freely, though one will always be tasked with pulling wide to ensure that width is maintained on both sides of the attacking ‘5’ with the aim of stretching the opposition’s defense across the width of the pitch. One striker (usually Delaya in the Starting XI) will drop deep to create space for rotations with the attacking midfielder and the other striker, those two looking to run into and exploit the space vacated by the other striker. These rotations are aimed to shift the opposition defenders around the pitch and create a bit of confusion.

In terms of progressing the play the team will look to move the ball with controlled pace. The team will aim to do this with utmost precision, as is the Chromatik way.

3-4-1-2 – OUT OF POSSESSION: Chromatika's reaction to losing the ball depends on where they actually lose possession on the pitch. Should they lose the ball high-up the pitch, in the opposition’s half, then there will be an instantaneous reaction to press the opponent with the ball to try to win it back quickly high-up the pitch. This is hoped to create chances nearer to the opposition’s goal, effectively using the press as a playmaker. If the opponent breaks through the initial press then Chromatika will look to recover into a 5-3-2 shape as below. Should Chromatika lose the ball nearer to their own goal then they will instantly look to recover into defensive positions to try to make themselves difficult to break down. This shape will be closer to a 5-3-2 than the 3-4-1-2 starting formation.

Both wing-backs will drop deeper, alongside the three central defenders to form the 5. The two central midfielders (Larriet-Cortes and Fillar), will drop deep in front of the three central defenders to shield them a little and the attacking midfielder (Vasiily Marten Kuznetsov), will drop to play in front of them, operating as a bit of a guard dog – either sitting on an opposition deep-lying playmaker to try to stop the ball into them, or by leading a half-pitch press. The two strikers will look to stop the ball going back to the opposition’s central defenders and press them when they are in possession.

Chromatika will also play a variety of other formations should they want to play a little differently, the most likely ones they would change to from the 3-4-1-2 are a 3-5-2 (taking out the attacking midfielder and using three central midfielders); a 4-3-1-2 (pushing the wing-backs back to play as full-backs, removing a central defender and replacing them with a defensive or central midfielder); a 4-2-3-1 (pushing the wing-backs back to play as full-backs, removing a central defender and a striker and then playing a winger on either side); or a narrow 4-4-2 diamond (pushing the wing-backs back to play as full-backs, removing a central defender to play either as a defensive or central midfielder). Chromatika is very versed in the 4-2-3-1 and the 4-4-2, as they've played those before under previous management.

MAJOR DIFFERENCES BETWEEN CHROMATIK AND MYTANAR FOOTBALL: One might ask, how does Repin's Management of Mytanija differ from his Management of Chromatika? Chromatiks are, by nature, more precision-oriented and detail-focused; everything will be drilled to a t, players will be provided information regarding how to handle a myriad of situations, and though creativity will be encouraged, it will be stymied by expectations placed upon the roles.

Chromatika has a reputation of being a second-half team, built around finesse, stamina, and overwhelming pace in the final half hour of matches. This will continue to be the case, as the physique of players is not contingent upon a system of play. The Anomalies will continue to try to push games out of reach or make up deficits in the final half, and the final fifteen minutes will continue to be absolute hell for opposing clubs.

Ko-orenite Host Bid for CAFA the Third the Fourth The Seventh

Format:18 teams: 2 groups of 9, round robin, 3/48 (yes, that's three matches per cutoff, cutoffs happening every 48 hours) with the third cutoff being just MD7 and MD8. The top eight teams (four of each group) advance to a second group stage featuring two groups of four (1A, 4A, 2B, 3B / 1B, 4B, 2A, 3A), 1/24, round robin. From then on we're going to semifinals (1v4, 2v3) and a final.

20 teams: 2 groups of 10, round robin, 2/48 (that's two matches per cutoff, cutoffs happening every 48 hours). After that we have quarterfinals (1A v 4B, 2A v 3B, 3A v 2B, 4A v 1B), random semifinals, and a final.

In the 16 and 18 team system, there's 6 group stage cutoffs and 2 knockout cutoffs. In the 20 team system, there's 5 in the group stage and 3 in the knockout. Either way, there's eight cutoffs. To prevent burnout, there's a brevity-style bonus, see RP Bonus.

Scorinator: Xkoranate, SQIS, no home advantage. Additive style mods. CAFA Rank used.

RP Bonus: cumulative, generous, quality over quantity. A callback to the early CAFAs will be a small bonus for RPs that land their word count between 350 and 450. After every cutoff, a number will be generated between those two numbers, and RPs landing on exactly that number will receive a bonus bonus. Mind that writing longer (collaborative) RPs will be rewarded as normal - so don't feel like you can't write RPs like the Ayes stories we've seen during WCQ.

IC: All games take place in Ko-oren.

Cutoff times:Cutoffs mostly happening around 22:00 CET. It's inevitable that some cutoffs will be pushed back to lunch the next day or even the next evening. Aim will be cutoffs every 48 hours, with a slight chance at 72.

Hosting experience: 1x CAFA, 1x ODI World Trophy, 1x FraterniT20, 1x ARWC, as far as semi-recent hosting experience goes.

Logo: Unlikely

AIHC: There will be an AIHC bid and it will tie into this one. RP lines can be continued between the CAFA and the AIHC, earning a tiny bonus in the CAFA (and a slightly larger bonus in the AIHC), as a sort of RP synchronicity bonus to encourage participation in both tournaments - but mostly encouraging engagement with the AIHC.
