This is all part of crackdown on lgbt rights in Italy which is already very limited. The Meloni government is also trying to prevent same sex couples from adopting from other countries as well.

This is unequivocally wrong. Same sex couples deserve the same rights as everyone else. Experts and studies have shown there is no harm to the child at all and what the Italian government is doing is nothing short of pure bigotry.

Also, looking at the stories on some of the people impacted, I've noticed some involve cases where a woman carries a surrogate pregnancy with her partner's egg. I am admittedly unfamiliar with how average surrogacies are handled birth-cert-wise, but this seems like pertinent information.

Egg and sperm donors already don't appear on birth certificates. It's never been about the biological source of genetic material. The listed parents are purely for administrative purposes to identify who are legally responsible to the child at birth. And you guys didn't care about it before, so any claim that your concern now isn't just to "own the gays" is a load of bull.
