LIVE COMMENTARY
-60:00: Bem-vindo to São Agostinho! This is going to be a spectacular match between Scovern and the Asterian Federative Republic for a Round of 16 clash in this packed stadium, there are no seats empty, everyone is here to watch what I imagine will be a game for the ages.
-45:00 After its last game against Paretia, the AFR has opted to return to its initial round of 11 team, which means Miguel Eutímio will be starting today. No changes for Scovern who played a remarkable game against Ansan, defeating them 1-0 in extras.
-30:00 These two teams with varied history, but deep history in this beautiful sport. These two teams coincidentally last played each other on January where the AFR defeated Scovern 2-1 in Paretia. The coincidences!
-20:00 Camara gave some controversial thoughts regarding the upcoming game to media these last few days. Let us see what the Os Abutres have in store for us.
-10:00 Both teams are entering the pitch, a Galinho mascot follows the team inside the stadium. Fun fact but the video of the Galinho mascot being attacked by a fan has reached up to 600 million views on MeTube. Well I guess not quite a fun fact actually, apparently the guy ended with a fractured arm.
-08:00 The anthem of Scovern will now play Our land, our pride!
-05:00 A beautiful anthem, now the AFR's storied anthem will play, and a large AFR flag on the left side of the field is now being waived. Song of the Republic!
-02:00 Hallvard Søndergaard has arrived to meet with Rochan Shah, Søndergaard says tails, and the referee flips the coin. Heads say's the 35 year old referee. AFR will play the ball first.

FIRST HALF:
1': Moreira starts with the ball passing it to Vaz, and the game is on!
2': This Eutimio brought considerable media attention for being left off the game against Paretia, must be happy to be back in the line up.
3': Good ball movement on the left side by Moreira, being harassed by Wollan. Good move by Moreira, and the Vultures are preparing for a center.
4': Eljalali is there to block the center, and out of bounds. Moreira to throw it back in.
4': Moreira makes a deep throw for the chest of Florencio, what a storied player this captain of the Vultures. Florencio moves the ball over to Balbinho, as the Vultures remain steadfast on the Irons side.
5': Balbinho makes a pass over to Vaz, who holds it, Ingebritson is there to stop him. Ingebritson with the ball tries to make a pass to Rask. But intercepted by Balbinho!
6': Balbinho plays a pass over to Eutimio in the center. Eutimio has a good angle, and takes a shot!
7': Over the crossbar! That could of been dangerous for the Irons, it is a Ikeda Goal kick for Sorlie.
8': Sorlie makes a deep pass to his team reaching over for Rask, who now has it and its moving it against this steadfast Asterian defense.
9': Rask to Eljalali, who moves it over to Wollan, who breaks into a rapid attack down the left side of the pitch.
10': Valente is on Wollan, not letting him through. Valente knocks the ball away, with Wollan arguing interference, but he won't get any. Eljalali to take the throw in.
11': Eljalali plays a deep one for Rask, who passes it to Søndergaard, the key to this lock called the Vultures, is quick passes, and speed.
12': Søndergaard passes it to Wollan, who moves it to Eljalali, he passes it to Rask. Balbinho is there to try to remove the ball, but no luck. Rask passes it quickly to Wollan, who breaks into a run.
13': Wollan moving the ball down the left side with success, he makes a center for Setter!
13': Headed away by de Sá. Setter is arguing for something, but again no sympathy from the official, we have a Subarasi corner kick
14': Eljalali to take the corner, solid player this one, we will see what they have cooked for this one. Eljalali takes a deep ball into the box looking for a friendly head.
15': Setter is there, and he heads it!
15': Goalpost! And the ball is cleared by de Sa. Unbelievable that Setter could miss that one.
16': Teixeira to make this Ikeda Goal kick he plays a deep pass to Florencio, who battles Eljalali for the ball. He passes it to Moreira, in a no look pass!
17': Moreira is moving quickly past the defenders! Moreira, makes a pass to Eutímio who is just behind the defenders. Kuklinski over him!
18': Eutímio just brushes him off, and he's 1-1 on Sorlie!
18': Eutimio shoots! and GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAL!From Eutimio, and he jumps into the sky with a punch and the Vultures are leading 1-0
19': Worried looks, as Shah is going to check with VAR, for a possible offside, we will see what comes from it.
20': Shah gives it a quick look and returns, no offside, the goal will stand. 1-0 for the AFR.
22': Ingebritson will get us started with a pass to Setter. The Irons must be quite frustrated with that one, not their best play I must admit.
22': Setter puts it back to Eljalali, who moves it back to Søndergaard. The captain holds it, holds it, and makes a deep pass to Wollan. Wollan just grabs onto it, and he's off running down the left side of the pitch!
23': Wollan is harrased by Valente, but Valente can't contain Wollan who makes a pass over to Setter. Setter moving it near the box, attacked by Luz.
24': Setter is struggling against Luz, with Vidal coming in to help and he takes a shot!
24':GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAL! From Setter splendid shot, Teixeira got his hands on it, but not enough, and its in on the top right corner and the Irons have tied this at 1.
25': Camara is on the sidelines livid, the Vultures completely bottled that pass to Wollan which started this whole thing.
26': Vaz to Eutímio and the game is back on.
28': Both sides being considerably more conservative after the two quick goals, plenty of defensive play. Camara giving the lip to his players after that lackluster defensive play.
32': Boysen-Riis has the ball and makes a pass to Søndergaard, the architect of that equalizer. Now Jimmy what are you eating? I'm eating a delicious hot dog, from TOP DOG.
34': Saraiva holding the ball and passes it to Florencio, in a quick change of pitch, Florencio has it and passes it to Moreira who is just on the half line. They cross the half, and he passes it to Eutímio who attempts a pass to Vaz, but intercepted by Ingebritson!
35': Ingebritson pushing fast into the Asterian half, but the rest of his team is slow to follow Saraiva is there to harass and steal his ball. Ingebritson is frustrated!
36': Saraiva plays a deep pass to Vaz, who breaks into a run. The Irons are not well positioned for this one!
37': Vaz has it on the right side, Eutimio is running up towards the center! Moreira is close behind.
37': Vaz centers that ball looking for Eutimio!
38': Eutimio lowers his head, and the ball reaches Moreira, who takes a shot!
38': Saved by Sorlie! It seems that Eutimio and Moreira were both aiming at the center of the net. Sorlie had noticed Moreira who snuck behind the defense. Eutimio congratulating Moreira on a wonderful play, but no goal.
39': Florencio to take this Subarasi corner kick. He prepares to center it, and beautiful ball!
40': Sorlie goes out for the ball, as does Balbinho, and Kuklinski! All 3 collide inside the box!!!
41': Shah is approaching Sorlie, and Yellow to him. Oh Uyyy you have gotten a yellow card Balbinho and Kuklinski still on the ground being attended by the medical staff.
42': Sorlie just being too aggressive there, and he has given the Vultures a penalty kick, the Irons trying to argue with the official, to reconsider. But little to be done I imagine.
43': Kuklinski is back up, but Balbinho keeps holding onto his leg, Kuklinski fell on top of his leg. Sorlie is speaking with Wollan.
44': Balbinho is being helped off the field, and for now the Vultures will play with 10, as Balbinho is being tended to, off the pitch.
45 ': 4 more minutes says the official, as Eutimio prepares to take the penalty, that could give the vultures the lead.
45 +1': Eutimio prepares to take the shot, Sorlie who must of seen the debacle 3 days, must be feeling quite confident tonight.
45 +2': Eutimio moves to take the shot, he stops, he continues, and shoots towards the bottom left corner!
45 +2': GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAL! Sorlie was fooled into the lower right, the ball goes inside, and Eutimio has his second of the night, and the Vultures have the lead 2-1 for the AFR.
45 +3': Setter makes a pass to Wollan, and play has resumed, the Vultures still playing with 10.
45 +3': Wollan passes the ball to Eljalali on the back, and the Irons appear to be looking to end the half, and regroup for the 2nd.
45 +4': The officials said 4 more minutes, but I doubt that, maybe 5 or 6.
45 +5': Eljalali passes it to Rask, who moves it over to Søndergaard, who moves it over to Boysen-Riis.
45 +6': Boysen-Riis has it, and he makes a deep pass to Setter, who has it there on the middle, he tries to move it but Florencio comes in a little too aggressively. Free Kick Top Dog Setter plays a quick pass to Ingebritson who is moving it slowly into the Asterian half. The official is looking at his watch. Ingebritson looks at Setter, and appears to signal at him.
45 +6': Setter has broken into a run, de Sa is on him, Ingebritson makes a deep pass, and Setter is there to receive it. Trying to lose de Sa but he can't. Setter takes a shot!
45 +7': WHAT A SHOT, Teixeira with a superhuman move to prevent that goal. And the Irons have forced a corner. Setter what a player.
45 +8': Balbinho has returned to the pitch joining the scramble inside the box. Eljalali to center it.
45 +8': Eljalali takes the Subarasi corner kick deep into the center! Rask heads that one!
45 +8': Rask heads it straight to Teixeira who grabs it, and holds it like his child. The box clears with Teixeira ready to kick it!
45 +9': Teixeira with a kick to the moon, and Shah says we have time for no more 2-1, the Vultures are leading Scovern.

HALF-TIME:

SECOND HALF:
45': Setter makes a pass to Wollan, and the game is back on. Balbinho has been removed for concussion, free sub for the AFR side.

(AFR substitution: 20. Manoel Leitão10. Afonso Balbinho)
49': Both teams playing considerably more conservative, after a fast paced 3 goal first half, let us see what the Irons attempt to cook up, to equalize the game. Talking about cooking. Now Jimmy what are you drinking? PIVEN the best beer.
50': Bet you didn't foresee a 2-1 game from the AFR after the first half, were you Jimmy?
52': The Irons have it on their side, with Rask holding onto the ball.
53': Rask moving the ball over to Eljalali, the Irons trying to move the ball into the Asterian side.
53': Eljalali has it, and crosses into the center, he makes a pass to Setter, who is moving the ball well, but it's going nowhere, the Vultures are well cemented into the pitch, he passes to Wollan.
54': Wollan moving the ball on that left side, he makes a deep pass over to Ingebritson to change the pitch on the Asterians, but Saraiva is there to knock the ball out.
54': Ingebritson throws the ball to Rask, who moves it to Eljalali, Søndergaard playing higher now and he receives the ball. He passes it to Wollan, who again is attacking on that left side.
55': Wollan has the ball passes to Eljalali, back who passes it to Søndergaard, who passes it to Ingebritson, who is looking to avoid Saraiva again. Saraiva been absolute solid all tournament long.
56': Splendid dribble from Ingebritson, who is looking to escape the harrasment from Saraiva. But the defensemen is quickly there to stop it. Ingebritson kicks the ball towards the center, but Saraiva is there to deflect it towards Rask, who takes a shot!
56': Over the crossbar Rask has sent the ball. Teixeira to take this Ikeda Goal kick
57': Teixeira plays it short towards Luz, who centers it towards Leitão. Let us hope that Balbinho is doing alright.
59': The Vultures have the ball on the center of the pitch, playing a defensive game, as is their strength. The Irons unable to breakthrough.
60': Florencio plays a simple pass to Valente, who holds the ball, and take a look at this, a big pass over to Moreira. Who quickly breaks into a trot on that left side. Pass to Florencio, who quickly passes it to Eutímio. Quickly being covered, he takes a shot!
61': Just off the side of the net, Eutímio hits the floor, he almost had the hat trick and Sorlie screaming at his defenders, splendid play from the Vultures, to make the Irons gasp.
62': Haugli has seen enough, and is making changes.
(Scovern substitution: 66. Karl Stohl8. Ronny Rask)
63': Sorlie takes this Ikeda Goal kick deep into the field, for Eljalali, who quickly moves it to newcomer Stohl. This player is very versatile, we will see what he does in this part of the field.
64': Stohl passes it to Ingebritson, who tries to outrun Saraiva, but the defender is on him at all times, not letting him through. Saraiva steals the ball, and passes it to Leitão. Now Jimmy what are you doing? I'm investing my money with Bank of Samistopol the best bank in the Lumine.
65': Leitão passes it to Florencio, who makes a deep kick towards a running Vaz, he's being defended by an insistent Boysen-Riis. Vaz falls to the floor.
66': Shah has signaled for a free kick on that right side, dangerous for the Irons, as they begin to prepare their defense.
66': Manoel Leitão to convert this Free Kick Top Dog, with Luis Florencio there to provide him aid, I don't think they're looking at a direct hit at the goal.
67': Leitão plays a simple pass to Florencio who passes it back to Leitão, who centers it!
68': Sorlie knocks that one away! Splendid goalkeeping, he actually got to this one now. Vaz's kick is too high, towards the heavens.
69': Haugli is furious another change.
(Scovern substitution: 59. Ingmar Gudmund Falla7. Arvid Ingebritson)
70': The Irons need to recompose themselves, and score that equalizer, but the Asterian Defense is just rock solid now.
70': Sorlie with that Ikeda Goal kick, deep into the opposing pitch. For Stohl to receive, he has it on his chest. He moves it over to Eljalali, who quickly moves it to Falla. Falla on the right side of the pitch again being harassed by Saraiva.
71': Falla pushing on that right side, fighting against Saraiva, barely getting that cross in. Towards Setter, who just gets his head on the ball!
71': SETTER! He aimed that too far left, oh my. He's holding onto his head. But whats this, Teixeira is debating with the official, they're going to check with VAR to see if its a corner kick. That was dangerous enough, Camara signaling for new changes either way, as Shah heads to VAR.
72': Shah returns it is a corner kick, Teixeira just barely got his hand on that one. As expected Camara reinforcing that central 3 defenders with a new set of legs.
(AFR substitution: 26. Manuel Serra78. Tomé Vidal)
73': Stohl to take this crucial corner, less than 20 for Scovern to equalize this. The Irons crowding the box, Teixeira giving orders to his defenders, a player on the right goalpost, as the Vultures ready themselves.
74': Stohl taking this Subarasi corner kick into the heads of his team mates! Setter jumps for the ball!
75': Too high! Setter can't get to it. Luz receives it, and clears it out of the Asterian side. Haugli is furious, Stohl is on the floor he bottled that one!
77': The Irons are trying to reform their attack, as Camara prepares another change. Eljalali trying to move it to Wollan, but Moreira is there to knock it out. Camara gets his change in, along with giving new instructions to his team, to settle down, to keep this score.
(AFR substitution: 36. Lucas Prestes12. Cesar Vaz)
78': Eljalali puts the ball back into play to Wollan, who holds it for too long, what is Wollan doing?
79': Wollan makes a deep pass to Falla who is running deep into the Asterian side. Falla receives it. Saraiva struggling to keep up Serra is there to provide aid.
79': Falla is unable to get through the two defenders, and the ball is knocked out. Frustration and desperation setting in. Haugli orders his 3rd and final change.
(Scovern substitution: 94. Jonas Awli Ewendi10. Abdul Eljalali)
80': Falla throws it in to Setter. Who moves it to Stohl, the youngster hasn't quite recovered from that crucial corner, he's holding it on the side. Passes it to Søndergaard, who is playing far out.
81': Søndergaard passes it to Ewendi, who does a masterful move around Leitão, he passes it to Setter!
81': Setter does not have a good angle, but he moves around de Sa towards the left, and shoots. But Luz is running towards the ball!
82': Luz practically throws himself at the ball, and deflects it to Saraiva. But Falla is there instead!
82': Falla has it practically by himself in front of Teixeira, he SHOOTS, NO HE FEINTS AS SARAIVA THROWS HIMSELF AT HIM. FALLA STILL HAS IT.
83': Falla centers the ball, as Setter is running at full speed battling de Sa.
83': Setter kicks the ball! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAL! Setter Setter Setter Setter. This stadium has exploded splendid play from Falla, to resist against Saraiva, and to make that pass. Setter is on the floor crying while Shah is running towards VAR possible offside?
84': This stadium is seeing the replay its so close, but I think Setter was there legally. Shah is still looking.
86': Shah is running out, he's looking at the crowd, he signals...
87': GOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL 2-2 We are tied here in São Agostinho with time to spare. Camara cannot believe his eyes.
89': Moreira and Eutimio will get us underway again.
90': 3 more minutes signals the referee as Prestes makes a pass down to Saraiva. The Asterian team is still shocked at what has occurred.
90+2': Both teams have accepted the extras, and they are playing conservatively, what a game it has been, more goals than expected. The Vultures have only allowed 2 goals in the entire tournament, before 90 minutes ago. Setter has himself scored two today.
90+3': Moreira passes it back to Valente, and Shah says that we have time for no more, 2-2 we will enter extra time!

EXTRA TIME

EXTRA TIME FIRST HALF
91': Eutimio will get us started with a pass to Paiva.
(AFR substitutions: 73. Jonas Paiva11. Sérgio Moreira)
(AFR substitutions: 39. Aurélio Lopes2. João Valente)
(Scovern substitutions: 30. Lars Piltz5. Mark Nikolajsen)
92': Paiva moving the ball well to Prestes, as the Vultures look awfully on the attacking mood.
92': Prestes makes a pass to Lopes who is observing the field, these new legs have an overwhelming power now over the field of play. Lopes opts for Paiva, releasing a cannon towards the midfielder.
93': Paiva duels Rendahl for that ball. With Rendahl heading it away for Piltz to gather, he now begins to inspect the field of play.
94': He passes it back to Sorlie, who releases a bomb towards Stohl, which has returned back at full force into this game. Stohl heads it down towards Ewadi, an important piece in that equalizer. Florencio is there to harass him.
95': Ewadi avoids Florencio skillfully and makes a deep pass to Wollan, who rushes down the left side, passing it back to Stohl who is there in the center, Setter rushing ahead. But de Sa is keeping him close.
96': Serra is there to stop Stohl, removing the ball from his legs in a skillful dive. What a play! Serra passes the ball back to Florencio, skillful pass. The Vultures are back on the attack.
97': Florencio makes a quick pass to Leitão, who makes a pitch change towards Paiva who is pushing deep into the Irons side. I think Camara told them, no penalties this time.
98': Paiva is penetrating deep into the Irons side, but he can't find Eutimio so he has to hold it, Rendahl is on top of the job, harassing the midfielder. Paiva dribbles in between the legs of Rendahl, and makes a pass down to Leitão who is rushing in!
99': An absolute bomb from Leitão heading towards the goal of Sorlie!
99': TOP POST! Leitão just missed that by an inch, as it hits the goal post heading up and out of play. That shot has left the Irons in disbelief, they almost got scored on. Leitão with that cannon of a leg. Well played by the youngster.
100': Sorlie to take this Ikeda Goal kick, and he does deep into the Asterian field, as the Irons try to head into the half with a goal.
101': Ewedi is there to receive the ball, and he passes it to Stohl, who is pushing quickly deep into the Asterian side, but finding it difficult to find a way around that stubborn defense.
102': Ewedi to Søndergaard, who makes a pass to Falla!!! Falla basically all alone on that right side. Saraiva is running at full speed.
102': Falla has a perfect angle, and takes a shot, Saraiva still a foot behind! Luz and de Sa rushing to that side.
103': LUZ! Luz got his leg in, and the shot is deflected away. Subarasi corner kick to the Irons. What a play by Søndergaard and by Falla. Maybe Falla should had held it, and thought of Setter again? The forward was rushing towards the goal.
104': Søndergaard to take this corner kick, he's looking at the center of the field, the Irons have crowded the box, fast pitched extra time we have.
105': Søndergaard makes the corner, looking for a friendly head!
105': Ewedi and Setter are looking for it, both jump up, so does Teixeira!
105': Teixeira grabs a hold of it, what a player, he played that one perfectly stopping it right on its tracks. 2 more minutes signals the official, a bit too much no?
105+1': Teixeira delivers a bomb down the center of the field towards Florencio, who is there to receive, he passes it quickly to Paiva, and the Vultures have a nice attack over here.
105+1': Paiva is too quick for the tired Rendahl, he makes a pass back to Florencio, who passes it to Leitão. What a pass! Eutimio is open!
105+1': Leitão passes it to Eutimio who is quickly attacked by the fresh Piltz. Eutimio takes a bad shot towards the goal Piltz hot on his heels!
105+1': Over the crossbar again! Its an Ikeda Goal kick
105+2': Sorlie plays a simple pass to Kuklinski, who has it on the field, and the Irons are moving it softly, and carefully. Eutimio can't believe his eyes, yet another chance, the forward has been on fire all evening.
105+2': Boysen-Riis has the ball and makes a deep kick, looking for no one in specific. Shah looks at his watch and blows the whistle, we have time for no more.

EXTRA TIME HALF TIME

EXTRA TIME SECOND HALF
106': Setter and Falla will get us started, the first half was fast paced, let us see what they have in store for us now in this second half of extra time, we're still tied at 2 here in São Agostinho, what a thrilling night.
107': Falla getting us started with a quick push down the center, he's been great since coming on, moving the danger from that left side to the right side. Good game plan the Irons brought here.
107': But Leitão is there to stop the attack, he receives it, and moves it back to the cog of the Asterian defense.
109': Lopes makes a pass to Teixeira, who holds the ball and instructs the team to move forward, a cannon surely expected here.
110': Teixeira makes a deep shot towards Pavia, who is there to fight Rendahl for the ball, Pavia makes a pass to Florencio who is dribbling calmly instructing the team to attack, he passes it to Leitão.
110': Leitão makes a floater pass to Pavia who is rushing down, the player has it, and Rendahl is struggling to keep up Kuklinski headed to intercept Pavia. Pavia centers the fall for Florencio who takes a shot into the net!
110': Sorlie barely dives to stop it, and hold onto it. What a chance by the Vultures, but Florencio was unable to get all of his force into the shot. Splendid shot, and save on both sides of the ball.
111': Sorlie to take this Ikeda Goal kick, deep into the Asterian side, with Ewedi again there to receive.
112': Ewedi is tackled bad by Paiva, and Shah is there to award a free kick to the Irons, too far from a shot on goal directly.
112': Søndergaard to take this Free Kick Top Dog, the Irons not looking at anything funny here, and they'll just play a simple pass to Ewedi, who rushes it down the side. Whats this Ewedi is attacking that left side all alone Wollan is headed down the center.
112': Ewedi centers it for Wollan, Setter is running right besides Wollan, the Vultures are rushing to stop this. Luz headed towards Ewedi, with de Sa holding both Setter and Wollan down by himself!
113': Luz gets his leg on it! As it heads towards the three rushing players in front of the net!
113': de Sa gets there first and knocks the ball forward away from the goal, Teixeira throws himself and just barely grabs the ball before it can get out of play. Luz and de Sa again essential in stopping the Irons, as we are exceptionally close to Penalties!
114': Teixeira has this ball, and is instructing the team to go forward, there shouldn't be a lot of added time, in this it is now or never to prevent penalties.
115': Teixeira delivers a bomb towards Pavia again, who quickly receives it, moves it to Florencio, it seems a repetition of the last shot!
116': Florencio evades an aggressive Sohl he eyes Prestes, and makes a dangerously high pass to the man. As the Irons tightened the center, Prestes is all alone and has time. He eyes Eutimio and makes a pass, Rendahl and Kuklinski there to prevent that!

117': Falla to Setter, and the Irons are on full attack mode, they must push and disassemble the Vultures quickly they have 3 minutes, plus extra time.
118': Falla has it on the right wing, Saraiva and Prestes protecting Falla intently, he can't get through.

120': Søndergaard looks down towards the box, then back at the ball, then back at the sky. He wipes his face, and prepares the center. Down the center of that ball, it arches towards the box, the irons and the vultures jump to receive it Teixeira is on a springboard to quickly go for it.

ROUND OF 16: DAY 30
Image
The Dragons put up a good fight, but were ultimately unable to overcome Satucin in what was a fairly comfortable match for Les Rois. Katuyosi Ikeda was started over Sigeru Watanabe in the only change of the game. An early scare for Satucin was their main chance conceded, Ikeda dropping between the lines to receive a pass from Akisige Maeda in midfield before setting Zouitirou Saito off on a run, but the chance was saved by Després. Ryouhei Miyazaki was found by VAR to have elbowed Valéry Poirier in the box during a corner kick, conceding a penalty to Satucin that was converted by Hayden Juteau in the 24th minute. Les Rois came close to doubling their lead shortly after, as Fernand Bonvillain lifted his shot over the goal. Karl Chénier was given a yellow card in the 44th minute for a challenge on Maeda.

In the second half, Satucin played with good structure, aiming to preserve their lead and not to overstretch their formation. Abbas Qaderi hit the post in the 52nd minute before the ball was finally gathered by Matuura. Samir el-Amiri's long-distance shot was deflected wide by the arm of Hirosi Iwasaki, and after a lengthy VAR check it was decided that the arm was in a natural position with no penalty given. Ikeda nearly netted a free kick equaliser for Senria in the 81st minute, but Després just pushed it wide and Satucin were able to clear the resulting corner. The decisive goal came late on as substitute Aglébert Rhéault managed to divert a loose ball into the back of the net in the 91st minute, after a corner was inadequately cleared by the Senrians.

Satucin will face Etruria in the quarter-finals.

Goals: Hayden Juteau (24' (pen.)), Aglébert Rhéault (90+1')
Cards: Samir el-Amiri, Sinzou Yamasaki (yellow)
Player of the Match: Hayden Juteau (SAT)

LIVE COMMENTARY
-60:00: Bom-vindo to Porto Belo! We'll be seeing a passionate game tonight between Asase Lewa and the Île d'Émeraude to see who will be advancing to the quarter finals.
-50:00: Both teams have defied relative odds to get here, but none other than the Île d'Émeraude - save Nainan - have overcome monstrous hurdles and expectations to get here. The Île d'Émeraude is the last Arucian team standing, and for many in that region, have become a standard-bearer for the sport.
-45:00: Whoever wins will have a tough opponent in the defensively oriented AFR, who's team bested Scovern last night.
-35:00: The Flying Gorillas are the more aggressive of both teams playing today, but statistically it's only a marginal difference. They'll be playing in their signature 4-4-1-1 playstyle, whilst the Black Renegades opt for a strong mid in their 3-5-2.
-30:00: With half an hour left, our stadium here is packed full - as fans from around the world, but in the Arucian in particular, have come to watch this historic game for the region.
-20:00: Satucin face Senria later today; and whomever wins is going to be playing against Etruria in likely one of the most anticipated matches of this year's Coupe du monde.
-15:00: It's going to be quite the game tonight. We can see flags of both nations flutter in the stands, and it's a pivotal moment for the footballing legacy of both of these countries.
-10:00: With their flags of red and their flags of green, white and blue, both teams have entered the pitch! They've lined up, had their greetings, and the Asalewans are taking the stand with their anthem: L'Internationale sung in a beautiful medley of the Bahian languages of the country.
-7:00: Beautiful! A common anthem we've heard a fair few times here at the Coupe, from a variety of nations. The Emeraudians take their turn; with their own anthem: L'hymne à la Liberté!
-4:00: Both teams are having their final minutes of prep, and assembling their formations on the field. Adedayo and Fenelon are brought forward to the centre circle for the coin toss.
-1:00: It'll be an Asalewan start from he correct pick of heads from Captain Adedayo!

FIRST HALF:
1’: The Flying Gorillas start us off! Ayo straight to Gyakari sees the lightning-paced midfielder break off down the centre!
1’: Looks like they want to try to get the Black Renegades on the back-foot this early off!
2’: Gyakari! What control! What pace! He’s outclassed both Blaises who have come to stop him, with fanciful footwork - and setting up a cross to Njembe! Beautiful play!
3’: Njembe’s faced some stiff opposition, but being this close to the box this early is dangerous play for the Black Renegades!
3’: An attempted wrestling for the ball from Leon is avoided by Njembe! He’s in the box now!
3’: He’s taking a shot!
3’: The Black Renegades are hoping this doesn’t set the tune for the match because that is a goal as clear as day! A straight half-volley past Pascal! 1-0 for the Flying Gorillas!
5’: Pascal looks… well, I don’t want to say upset - but he can’t be happy. To be down within five minutes is a tough reality. Reginald Augustin, the Renegades’ manager, is trying to rally his team to continue - and it is worth remembering there are still 85 minutes to go.
5’: But the Asalewans have the upper hand, that is true, and they know it.
5’: Fenelon is starting us off and he heels it behind him, Blaise’s ball.
6’: Blaise back to Fenelon!
6’: Fenelon clears it forward, hoping to reach Pierre. They’ll need aggressive football to try to win this back.
7’: But Pierre’s blocked by Omotayo, who gets the ball for the Flying Gorillas! And he’s kicked it in the hopes of finding a mid-fielder.
7’: Omotanwa’s ball, after facing off Rene, and the Asalewans are on the offensive again.
8’: Omotanwa straight across to the width of the pitch, beautiful pass to Amouzou.
8’: One thing is for certain is that the Asalewans are currently the much better team. They’re coordinated, concise, and on target. If they keep playing like this, it could be the end of the Arucian at this year’s game.
9’: Amouzou! He’s got a clear pass to Lawani and he takes it without question; with the right-winger speeding towards the box from the right hand side of the pitch.
10’: His run up is challenged and the ball is sent flying by Blaise. Asalewan corner!
10’: Adedayo is taking the corner kick, and it’s off towards the box!
11’: Fantastic header from Hilaire! But the ball is still in play!
12’: An absolutely mental battle at the box, with kicks from Amouzou deflecting from the goalpost and Adedayo’s resulting in Pascal’s ball has brought relief to the Black Renegades!
13’: Pascal’s going for a short roll to Leon, who crosses to his left to Hilaire.
13’: Hilaire back to Leon, avoiding Adedayo, and the ball is kicked to the mid-field.
14’: Blaise with a fantastic tackle avoids Njembe from claiming the ball, and it rolls to Rene!
15’: Rene’s played some brilliant mid-fielding here, avoiding the likes of Omotanwa and Gyakari to get the ball past the half-way line and straight to Laguerre!
16’: Laguerre has been a brilliant player for the Black Renegades this game, with years of experience playing for Satucine clubs, he brings a dimension of football not often experienced on the island. He's down the left-wing in a playstyle similar to Les Rois' noted left-winger Saulnier.
16’: Laguerre's run up is uncontested from a bewildered Asalewan defence!
17’: He's facing Apeku here, the first real hurdle to his run up - and he's making it round his right side...!
17’: Brought-down! Apeku's managed to tackle the ball away, but what will the ref think?
18’: Eliseo Pecchia, a Gapolonian referee, is here to assess the situation. Consulting his watch and his earpiece he's concluded it's a yellow card for Apeku and a free kick for the Black Renegades!
18’: Apeku helps Laguerre up, who's moving to take the free kick.
19’: The wall before him, he lines up his shot and gives it tremendous power!
19’: Over the wall!
20’: But it clatters against the cross-bar with a tremendous thunk!
21’: Tough contest for the ball sees Apeku end up with it, but his attempt to clear it has seen the ball land at Fenelon's feet!
21’: Fenelon straight up the right wing to Pierre, though he's marked - and the Flying Gorillas' defence is still consolidated in and around the box.
22’: Pierre snatches the ball from Bamidele's attempts at getting it, but the defender's able to force it out - who's ball is it?
23’: The linesmen are near, and the cameras are replaying - last touch is that swipe from Bamidele; giving the Black Renegades a throw in.
23’: Fenelon is doing the through in for Pierre, and he immediately tosses it to him and he's volleying it to the centre!
24’: A competition between Omotayo and Denis for this ball is a tough one!
25’: It's been a struggle but Omotayo gets the ball clear for the Flying Gorillas; landing on the Emeraudian side!
25’: Njembe is on it! This is dangerous!
26’: Njembe leads the counter-attack and he's got to get that ball away from Hilaire and Blaise!
27’: And he's passing it down the right to an awaiting Adedayo! Hilaire and Blaise are too far forward!
28’: Adedayo's got a clear shot on the keeper, just him and Pascal! He crosses into the box!
28’: He shoots!
28’: Pascal leaps and catches it against his chest! Fantastic save! A sigh of relief for the Renegades.
29’: He's getting up, ball at hand, and he drops it for a long-shot. The game has been played quite extensively out of this half, but I can't imagine Pascal wants a repeat of the third minute again.
29’: Blaise, the mid-fielder is on the scene, and gets the ball against a close attempt from Gyakari.
30’: Blaise and Gyakari are neck and neck as they attempt to move the ball up the field.
30’: Gyakari is unable to stop Blaise and his pass to Denis, who's up the centre towards the box!
31’: Denis to Laguerre, the ball up the left-wing now!
31’: Laguerre's playing a beautiful game here, but he's - at the moment - the only constant of the Emeraudian squad we've seen from games past.
32’: A shot from the left-wing across the box is caught by Sikafuo!. Nice save, still 1-0 here at Porto Belo for the Bahian team.
34’: An idle start from Sikafuo sees the ball played up the field from his defenders, as the Flying Gorillas use their impressive 8-man backlines to set up the ball for Njembe or Adedayo.
34’: But the five man Emeraudian mid-field is no small feat to overcome, and as Omotanwa is aiming to line up a cross he's body-blocked by Fenelon!
35’: An Emeraudian ball, successful tackle! The ball is now at Pierre's hands, the first to respond to the rolling tackle - and we enter the Asalewan side again. This is more reminiscent of that unified team, but it's still just a simulacrum!
36’: Pierre's going for a long-cross down the width of the pitch to Laguerre, who leaps into the air to volley it at goal!
36’: Thunk! Crossbar!
37’: Bamidele with a clearing kick! Back to the mid-field!
38’: A fantastic, speed recovery from Amouzou sees the ball run over the half-way line as we enter the half of the Renegades.
38’: A cross from Amouzou to Njembe, back down to Lawani.
39’: Lawani makes an attempt to break through the Emeraudian defence, and he's past Rene and defender Blaise!
40’: It seems that it's going to fall to Pascal, as Lawani sets up a perfect shot for Adedayo!
40’: The ball hits the ground with a bounce and Adedayo is ready for it... a hefty half-volley from the captain!
41': PUNCHED AWAY FROM THE GOAL BY PASCAL, TO CHEERS!
41': Ball's out of play, giving us an Asalewan corner.
42': Njembe's corner to take, and he utters a quick prayer before flicking the corner flag and kicking the ball!
42': Cleared from immediate danger by Hilaire's phenomenal header!
43': The ball is out of the box, but it's Gyakari who's up to snuff to get there first!
43': He powers through a kick with the front of his boot!
43': Deflection! Off of the back of Blaise, the ball hurtles out of play! Another Asalewan corner!
44': Opposite side this time, Njembe is taking it again. He wastes no time this time, and the ball is punted across the pitch.
45': But an uninspiring attack from the Flying Gorillas sees Pascal end up with the ball. He's holding onto it for dear life after that kick. And we're told there'll be two minutes of extra-time for this half.
45' +1: Pascal's kick is long, hoping to make the most of the short time for one final attack.
45' +1: Fenelon receives that ball wide, and he controls it by way of his knees and chest, before delivering it on a silver platter to Denis!
45' +2: Denis and Metellus have scarcely been able to afford the ball this game, but a cross from Denis to Metellus sees the latter grace it with a consequential presence!
45' +2: He lines up a shot, even with the defenders before him!
45' +2: But the curve isn't quite there, and it anti-climatically lands in the awaiting grip of Sikafuo. The referee blows his whistle.

HALF-TIME:
46’: An extremely fast-paced first half has seen us come to Porto Belo with Asase Lewa in the lead by a goal.
46’: The Black Renegades had a slow, uninspiring start - but have continued to build on momentum. No substitutions for either side yet, as the Emeraudians will start us off. Fenelon!
46’: Fenelon touches the ball with a light tap, reciprocated by Blaise, and it’s back to the captain - game on!
47’: Fenelon’s going with a back kick to his defenders, hoping to buy time for the forwards to get into position.
47’: From Hilaire back to Fenelon, straight up the field to Denis.
48’: Denis swerves past Omotayo and Bamidele! What a player!
48’: He’s got a shot on goal, and Metellus to his left! He’s going for glory here, though, and he’s able to slam the ball at the net with the side of his boot.
49’: … that’s over the net, unfortunately. Metellus seems to be having a few choice words to Denis, who counters at the apparent absence of the forward. This is dicey stuff.
50’: Sikafuo’s ball, regardless of the argument brewing in the Renegades. Fenelon’s gone over to snap them out of it, and Sikafuo’s preparing for a long ball.
50’: He’s changed his mind. Slow pass upwards through the defence.
51’: Sikafuo to Apeku, Apeku crosses to Bamidele.
52’: Denis’ interception, a masterclass of the mid-field in motion, has led to close to the box - and he’s the only one up here.
52’: He shoots…!
52’: Sikafuo’s able to palm it out, but it was close! Emeraudian corner.
53’: Fenelon is having a private word with Denis. He seems to have compromised with cooler heads and has given the centre-mid the responsibility of the corner kick, but Metellus is at the head of the box.
54’: Denis eagerly takes his opportunity to kick the ball at the both, and it’s an impressive shot.
54’: Metellus goes for the header…!
54’: But is stopped by Apeku…! Who’s own header clatters the ball away from goal!
55’: The first to arrive at that rolling ball is Vice Captain Pierre, though, and he brings it back into the box despite attempts from Omotanwa and Omotayo to stop him!
55’: He’s crossed into the box! And he shoots…!
55’: But it’s too high. That’s over the net.
55’: Sikafuo’s ball.
56’: The Emeraudians have been able to put a lot more pressure on the Flying Gorillas this second half, but they’ve not been able to find their mark here. No substitutions yet for either half; both seem content with what they’re going with - but the game is Asase Lewa’s to lose.
56’: Sikafuo down the middle with a mid-ranged kick.
57’: It’s collected by Ayo! Fantastic response time.
57’: Ayo to Gyakari, but the midfielder is moving up to support his forwards.
57’: Gyakari back to Ayo; who’s able to avoid a tackle from Blaise. Ayo relinquishes the ball to Njembe.
58’: Njembe brings the ball up the field, Adedayo a head - but this is the dangerous zone for the Flying Gorillas. They’re just woefully out numbered at the front. A cross to Adedayo!
58’: Adedayo’s received it, well past the attempts to Hilaire to stop him! He shoots!
58’: That hits the goal post, rebounding back onto the pitch! Gyakari’s up to get it though!
59’: And he does! He takes a shot!
59’: Saved by a dive from Pascal!. He’s desperately aiming to atone for his failures before, but the Emeraudian forwards can’t quite make it up yet.
60’: Augustin seems to have buckled under the pressure. He’s instructed the squad to play 3-3-4, with both left and right wingers playing further forward. A controversial substitution, the first of the game, is also incoming:
(Emeraudian substitution: Donald SeraphinMarcelin Metellus)
60’: Pascal’s ball. He drops it for a goal kick, and it’s sent into the sky.
61’: Blaise brings it down with a decisive header, even though Gyakari’s behind him. It seems the latter’s been brought to the ground!
61’: But Pecchia’s ruled that with Blaise’s successful attempt on the ball, there’s no foul, and the game continues.
61’: Blaise kicks ahead to Denis! Denis onwards with a cross to Serpahin!
62’: Let’s see if Seraphin can bring a new dynamic to the Emeraudian team, or if replacing Metellus was an error. 62’: Seraphin is in the box with a beautiful pass from Denis! Bamidele’s attempting a body block, Seraphin’s losing his footing, the ball is between the two…!
62’: A tangle of legs, a horror of defence and offence, and there’s clamour as despite being on the field for two minutes - Seraphin is down and cradling his left calf!
63’: Pecchia’s back. He’s taking a look at an instant replay, he’s consulting VAR - and that’s clear as day to him. That’s going to be a red-card for Bamidele and a penalty for the Black Renegades! This is game-changing; a potentially equalising penalty and the Flying Gorillas down a man!
64’: Seraphin seems to be injured. He had the momentum to potentially swing this game around, but it’s all changed within two minutes. Metellus is coming back on.
(Emeraudian substitution: Marcelin MetellusDonald Seraphin)
64’: The decision falls to Fenelon on whom will take the penalty with Seraphin out; and he opts for himself.
65’: Unorthodox choice.
65’: He paces upwards, awkwardly, seemingly with slow increments as he bounces on the spot… and shoots!
65’: It’s straight behind Sikafuo! An equaliser from the Emeraudian captain!
66’: The Black Renegades are still in this fight, and the Flying Gorillas are at a disadvantage at a crucial moment. Only in football!
67’: Ayo to Gyakari to start us off again; with Gyakari kicking it behind him to Apeku. The Flying Gorillas are keeping a 3-4-1-1 playing style.
68’: Apeku launches the ball forward, and it’s caught on the Emeraudian side by Amouzou who’s off to a sprint along the wings.
68’: He’s past Leon, but boxed himself in a corner - he kicks towards the box…!
69’: But a timely intervention from Pascal kicks it away - strange he didn’t try to catch it!
70’: Pascal’s clearing kick isn’t as hopeful as it seems, as Ayo’s up front and centre to take that ball and he sends it hurtling back - right into Ayedado’s waiting place.
70’: A lot of responsibility rests on his shoulders. Ayedado prepares to continue his run up, crossing to Njembe once in the box…!
71’: Njembe receives the ball but seems to take a tumble over his own momentum! Disastrous! Hilaire is able to kick the ball away from him as he tumbles, and he’s sending it straight to Leon.
72’: Leon down the right wing to Blaise, across the centre to Fenelon, down to Rene.
73’: Rene takes a run with the ball!
73’: And he’s still running, across the half-way line, and he’s able to defeat an attempted interception from Gyakari to keep the ball for the Renegades.
74’: Rene to Denis!
74’: Denis receives the ball as it’s launched towards him with the intention of a full volley… he’s leapt into the air!
75’: His feet swing wild!
75’: But he connects in a hurtling meteor of a shot straight at Sikafuo!
75’: THERE ARE NO WORDS! GOAL FOR THE BLACK RENEGADES! IN THE SPACE OF TEN MINUTES, THEY’RE IN THE LEAD
76’: Soadwa has to react to that. He’s happy with his team composition, more convinced the man down has weakened the line up. He’s opting for a 3-3-3, with Amouzou moving to the front alongside Adedayo and Njembe.
76’: Gyakari nudges the ball forward, and Ayo’s on it straight to Njembe.
77’: Njembe attempts to clear it past Hilaire, but the defender pummels it away! It’s out, though, and that leaves us with an Asalewan throw-in
78’: Omotanwa tosses it overhead and Njembe gets it, they're back on the offensive.
79’: Njembe has been a formidable forward for the Asalewan team; and a thorn in the side of the Renegades. He’ll need to replicate some of that success for an equalising goal and a chance for penalties.
80’: He’s got it into the box, but he’s had a passing game with Adedayo to get here.
81’: He takes a strike at the goal! Njembe against Pascal; if something sums up this match it is that!
81’: SAVE FROM PASCAL; CAUGHT IN HIS GRASP!
81’: That’s a far-cry from the display put on at the beginning of the game. The Black Renegades are in it to truly #ShocktheWorld at this rate.
82’: Pascal’s ball, long shot across the field - in a display increasingly common in this match.
82’: Rene’s ball.
83’: Passing play among the centre sees the ball trade hands, but a fairly slow game as we near the end. The Emeraudians are playing it safe. Some would call it timewasting.
84’: Which Meńsã́ Soadwa clearly is, and Pecchia seems to agree. There’s a round of groans as Pecchia shows a yellow-card to Luc Blaise for time-wasting.
85’: The ball is cleared forward, Laguerre’s ball. He’s on the run.
86’: But his attempt to cross it to Pierre across the box is met by a speedy collection, and an outward play, from Sifakuo. An overarm toss sees it bounce towards Ayo, and he’s got it on Gyakari.
87’: Gyakari and Ayo advance past the half-way line, meeting resistance from the Black Renegades, but surmounting the attempts of Rene, Fenelon and Blaise to stop them. The two wingers normally supporting them are too far up in the 3-3-4 adopted formation.
88’: Ayo kicks it forward! Amouzou, at the Flying Gorilla’s front, takes the ball towards the box!
89’: Final minute of regular time, and Amouzou’s nearing the box from the right wing. He’s outran Yvon Blaise, and put Rene to shame for that atrocious mid-field attempt at stopping him, and he sweeps a kick with the middle of his boot…!
90’: A NAIL BITING SAVE FROM PASCAL IN THE FINAL SECONDS OF THE GAME!
90’: Another four minutes of extra time.
90’ +1: Pascal’s toss to Blaise moves on to Rene.
90’ +2: But Rene’s attempts to cross the half-way line are interrupted by solid defensive footwork from Lawani.
90’ +3: Lawani brings the ball back into the Emeraudian half, and he’s crossing it forward to Adedayo.
90’ +4: Final minutes, final attempt - Adedayo collects that through ball with a little more than a bit of flare in the form of a half-volley, but the ball harmlessly flies over the net. The whistle blows

Os Abutres progress to the Quarter-Finals of the Coupe du Monde.
30th July, 2023 | By Fábio Fontes

Image
Miguel Eutímio celebrates atop the shoulders
of Lucas Prestes following the AFR's victory over Scovern.

Porto Sotiri, Ardesia - Os Abutres won a 3-2 victory over Scovern yesterday that saw Miguel Eutímio show why he is regarded as the national star despite a middling performance in the Coupe du Monde to date, scoring two of the AFR's three goals in a game marked by an uncharacteristically offensive stance from Os Abutres and showed the steadfastness of its defence against a Scovern side that had solidly held its own in the CdM so far and unlike Paretia did not rely on a single star player like Goes to bring in the goals.

The AFR played in a far, far more offensive manner than typical, with two goals, one from a penalty and two shots on goal in the first half for one concession and superb defensive work keeping Scovern to a single goal and another two shots in the first half. Balbinho suffered a concussion in the box in the closing minutes of injury time and is believed to be likely to miss the quarter finals, which will surely gut the youngest player in the AFR's normal starting XI. The second half was played far more conservatively by the AFR, comfortable with their lead. Eutímio missed an opportunity for a hatrick that would likely have sealed the game while Scovern went back on the offense, scoring another goal to force extra time and getting 2 shots past the AFR's formidable lineup.

As the game moved into extra time the AFR went back on the offense. Five shots on Scovern's goal resulted in only one in the net in the 116th minute as Os Abutres piled on the pressure. The AFR's formidable defence held up, with Teixeira, de Sa and Luz forming a formidable last line of defence that Scovern just couldn't break through. With only four goals conceded as they enter the quarter finals and a seemingly superhuman defence of his net against both Paretia and Scovern, Teixeira seems a likely candidate for this year's Golden Glove if he keeps this form up.

Commenting as the match between Asase Lewa 1 - 0 Île d'Émeraude entered half-time, Camara remained highly optimistic. "I think my bet might have been misplaced and I think I might have lost my reals. (Camara claimed to have bet 500 Asterial Federal reals on an Île d'Émeraude victory shortly after the AFR's victory over Scovern.) But Asase Lewa, who I think we are likely to play? They're brittle. They're like a lot of teams in that they scored a lot in the group stages, but also conceded a lot. Like Scovern. When they faced Rizealand, who were a very good team, always able to pull out just enough goals to win? They couldn't repeat that. We beat Paretia, we beat Scovern. They haven't faced a team with a defensive lineup like the AFR's; they conceded more goals against Auzance than we've conceded throughout the entire CdM, which doesn't speak well to their defensive capacity either. We demonstrated against Scovern that we can attack, and attack hard. I'm confident if Asase Lewa win against the IdE? We should be able to defeat them in the quarter-finals."

ROUND OF 16: DAY 31
Image
Ardesia continued their fine scoring form in a goal-studded thriller at the Estádio dos Santos. Os Galos were the first to score, a well-directed volley by talisman Arturo Vasco found its way past Triều in the 16th minute. Vasco scored his second and doubled Ardesia's lead in the 31st minute after a feint by Coelho fooled the Nainese defence, his pass giving Vasco an open shot at goal. The two teams went in at 2-0, Ardesia having been dominant so far and the game seeming decided after only 45 minutes.

Nainan were able to grab one back and shift the momentum early in the second half rebounded off the back of Sergio Rodio and past Cardoso in net. Ardesia seemed to have sealed the game in the 75th minute, as Felipe Gusmão rifled a shot home from around 13 yards after a sustained period of build-up by the Ardesian squad. Nainan staged a memorable comeback afterwards. Nguyễn Ðức Trí headed home in the 92nd minute to bring it to 3-2, and Dữu Ðinh Lộc intercepted a pass from Igor Furfaro after kick-off, smashing it up to Vũ Kim Sơn who slotted past Cardoso in the 93rd to take the game to extra-time.

While Ardesia were certainly rattled after a goalscoring burst late on from Nainan, Os Galos were able to regain their composure and win a penalty in the 107th minute as Vasco was brought down by Hồ Bình An. Coelho converted the decisive penalty and Ardesia held on to their 4-3 lead from there, despite some Nainese efforts.

Goals: Arturo Vasco (16', 31'), Sergio Rodio (46' (OG)), Felipe Gusmão (75'), Nguyễn Ðức Trí (90+2'), Vũ Kim Sơn (90+3'), Teodósio Coelho (107' (pen.))
Cards: Hồ Bình An, Tôn Trọng Kiên, Phan Anh Minh, Lourenço Câmara (yellow)
Player of the Match: Arturo Vasco (ARD)

CDM23: We face the match none of us want but the one we need

Etruria has reached the quarter finals, the downside is that to reach the semi-finals, it must overcome Satucin, the world’s no.2 and arguably the toughest foe the Cavalieri could face - a reality no Etrurian wants but one the squad may well need.

Ever since the convincing and fantastical victory over Aucuria in the opening match, the Cavalieri have played both unimpressively and resoundingly brilliant. The trepidation of potential penalties with Auzance was obliterated by the 30-yard line goal by captain Sciarri. The dreary first half against West Miersa was forgotten by the artful goal by Struna and the emergence of a brilliant defence led by Narducci, whose head took such a beating it bled.

There is no doubt that the nation stands behind the Cavalieri, we have transformed Altieri, Sciarri, Casarin and Narducci into sporting heroes, we have loved the unity of the three nations forever born off the pitch, but at the same time, we have been left criticising and worrying that the Cavalieri is not playing to its true potential. The Kuthina, the Champanian and West Miersan games all warranted some form of criticism by fans and sports veterans alike. Yet in all cases, the Cavalieri conjured from within their collective selves the ability to strike out and secure a victory from the jaws of defeat.

The game against Auzance saw the threat of a penalty shootout, only for captain Francesco Sciarri to score a missile like goal from the 30-yard line. West Miersa’s formidable play too pushed the game toward extra time and potentially penalty shootouts, only for the forwards led by Struna to deliver the goods with a convincing goal. In all cases, Etruria would struggle surprisingly yes, but ultimately deliver the decisive strikes necessary to progress. And yet, yes, in all the above the criticism can be made that Etruria did not play to its best, the wins are there, Etruria stands undefeated in all games at the tournament so does it matter?

The answer to that is yes, and in the form of Satucin. Facing the world’s no.2 team is going to deliver the CdM some incredible football with Etruria faces it’s eastern hemispheric rival. Arguably Satucin is the first team to truly possess the skill and talent to defeat the Cavalieri and send them
home, as such there are nerves and worries abound, this is Etruria’s ultimate test in Ardesia. Every match, every goal scored and conceded has led to this moment, every match has laid the paving stones of the path that brings the two giants of international football to clash. To defeat Satucin, is to confirm Etruria’s dominance as the world’s number one team, it will also confirm Etruria as a viable contender for the final. Yet to defeat Satucin, the Cavalieri will need to play to their full potential. Bonvillain will need containing, the defence will need the fluidity and adaptability to hold the line against a competent foe, there are already rumours of a shake up of the back lines ahead of the match, and the fluidity from back to forward will be necessary for the Cavalieri to unleash on Satucin what has laid low Etruria’s foes.

The match against Satucin will require everything the Cavalieri posses, perhaps even skill yet tapped into this tournament. If they achieve a win, I suspect the criticism and the debate around this tournament will end, fading away amongst the rapturous joy and applause. If they fail to summon their full power, and Etruria is sent home, few will doubt the reasons - we simply did not play our best. This is the match none of us really wanted, but it is the one we need. Unleash the full potential of the Cavalieri now and that will carry us through the final and perhaps, bring football back to Sol.”

LIVE COMMENTARY
-45:00: Hello, welcome to this crucial round of 16 clash between the Hounds and the King-Killers at the Missionário in beautiful Porto Sotiri! No changes from Ruttland, but Montecara are without central defender Sansòn Cola who is suspended. Savino Cicòn will be starting in his place.
-20:00: Montecara will be looking to continue their form in their unorthodox 4-2-2-2 formation today. They'll look to play their game centrally, overloading the Ruttish central midfielders and defenders and potentially bringing their wingers inside on defence, stifling their ability to quickly counter-attack.
-15:00: On the other side of the pitch, Ruttland are lining up in a 3-5-2 formation, potentially able to shift to four at the front in attack with Gauba and Judeikis coming forward. With five midfielders, the Hounds will be looking to have a majority of the ball, being able to dictate the game on their own terms.
-14:00: The Ruttish are certainly dominating the Missionário tonight. We're being treated to an early rendition of their famous chant, Kas paleido šunis?
-10:00: The teams are lined up and we'll be starting with Ruttland's anthem, Atgims jauna tėvynė!
-5:00: A great anthem. And now, Montecara's anthem, Inno dei Populi!
-1:00: Heads, and Ruttland will be starting!

FIRST HALF

1': Danauskas starts us off with a slow knock to Köppen!
2': Köppen tries a cheeky pass to Judeikis who has tried to get ahead of the Montecaran back line, but it's well-read and intercepted by Bertolìn.
4': Bertolìn finds Silano on the left, but his attack is stopped by a great tackle from Svirskis. Montecaran throw.
8': A slow start to the game today, both teams seem to be very nervy at the occasion. It's Dibulskis on the ball now, though, and he tries to thread a ball through to Judeikis, which lands! Judeikis with a cross into the box...!
9': Baumstein beats Cicòn and connects a header!
9': Close, but just over from Baumstein! The first real chance of today's match lands with the Hounds!
13': Captain Agostìn with the ball now. He's spotted a searching run from Spartaco Marro on the right hand side, but he opts to switch the play to the left instead! A wonderful touch from Silano to bring it down, Silano one-on-one with Vilminskas, Svirskis can't keep up!
14': Great save from Vilminskas! The Ruttish goalkeeper is equal to Silano and parries the shot wide for a Montecaran corner!
15': Elmo Perfeti will take this corner. He raises a hand to signal his kick, and the ball flies high into the box...!
16': But it's a poor corner that's over everyone's heads and out for a Ruttish goal kick.
18': Vilminskas sends the ball high and far down the pitch, and it's brought down well by Kraunaitis in midfield! Kraunaitis takes his time to pick a pass, and it's a great one out in front of Mecislovas Gauba! Gauba sends the ball across the box to Judeikis, who shoots first time...!
19': Judeikis has it in the back of the net! But his celebrations are quickly muted by the raising of the offside flag by the linesman. Have to wonder if Gauba could have taken that one on his own there.
21': It'll be Montecara's free kick after a quick VAR confirmation: the linesman's call was correct. Milò takes the kick short to Ema.
22': Ema puts in into midfield, where Nicoleta is waiting. Nicoleta receives, and turns well, beating Köppen who came in to try and get the ball! Ruttland's midfield is looking a bit bare now as Nicoleta takes the ball forward!
23': Nicoleta out wide to Silano! Silano cuts it back to Nicoleta... he shoots from distance...!
24': On target, but not troubling Vilminskas who easily catches the ball. Vilminskas tries to get the game started quickly as Judeikis is running, but he tumbles over Spartaco Marro who appeared to intentionally get in the goalkeeper's way! The referee blows his whistle, but a disagreement has already begun in the box!
25': The Lavanan referee is losing control of this game as more players join the maelstrom forming inside the Ruttish penalty area.
27': The situation has cooled a little, and the referee is finally getting a disciplinary grasp on the game. He shows yellow cards to Vilminskas, Marro, Perfeti, Cicòn and Köppen. Lots of cards.
30': The referee restarts the game with a drop ball that is left for the Ruttish goalkeeper. He sends the ball down the pitch, unopposed this time.
31': The ball can't be claimed by any Ruttish players, and it eventually falls to Cicòn who sends it straight down the other end towards Spartaco and Marro.
33': Marro brings it down well, but the linesman flags for offside.
35': Hiệp to take the resulting free kick, another one smashed down the other end of the pitch. But it works out, the ball is at the feet of Gauba! Gauba with some nice dribbling, but he has to find a way past Agostìn. He cuts inside, and what a lovely pass into the feet of Danauskas! Danauskas with the shot...!
36': GOOOOOOAAAAAAAAALLLLLL!!!!!!!!! RUTTLAND OPEN THE SCORING IN THIS ROUND OF 16 CLASH AS DANAUSKAS' SHOT IS POWERED HOME! The Ruttish forward is screaming and running over to the corner flag to celebrate!
37': Uh oh. A common story this year is playing again. The referee is being asked to look at some VAR footage here.
38': Well, he looks onside to me? It's a tight one, but I think Danauskas is onside!
39': The Lavanan referee re-enters the pitch and signals the VAR review! What? He's said Danauskas is offside! No goal for the Hounds! Well, this is a controversial one, but the referee has the final say! Ruttland back to no goals at the Missionário, the crowd can't believe it!
40': Ema will get the game restarted, but the crowd are still recovering from that call. That's sure to be the headline if Ruttland don't advance today.
42': Nicoleta in midfield, the King-Killers' creative maestro at the moment. Nicoleta finds Rosa who finds Sabatìn in turn. Sabatìn with an ambitious shot...!
43': Way wide from the Montecaran. Disappointing.
45': The referee announces there will be four minutes of added time to cap off the first half! Vilminskas with the goal kick!
45+2': Ruttland are taking it slowly now. Köppen is holding the ball nicely and Montecara are sitting back, trying not to concede just before half time. Köppen out wide to Gauba, who tries a nice skill to get past Agostìn... but the Montecaran captain expects it and prods the ball out for a throw-in.
45+3': Ruttland going for the long throw. Svirskis to power this one into the box, Baumstein tries to get his boot to it...!
45+4': He connects, but with no accuracy and the ball trickles out of play as the referee blows the half-time whistle.

HALF TIME

46': Montecara will get us underway for the second half, only one change during the break, from the King-Killers.
(Montecaran substitution: 18. Tosco Bonadòn17. Isidòr Sabatìn)
49': Montecara enjoying some possession and stability with Bonadòn in the game now. Nicoleta to Bonadòn now, and he tries to find a pass over to Silano... but just wide. Good idea from the substitute!
53': It's Ruttland attacking down the right-hand side now. Bonadòn has given the King-Killers some extra width as he drifts over to the right, allowing Marro to play more centrally. Bonadòn with a searching ball into the box! It bounces in front of Marro!
54': Marro goes down theatrically!
55': Some hesitation from the referee, but he finally blows his whistle! Penalty to Montecara, and a yellow card to Vũ Hòa Hiệp, who has his hands up pleading his innocence!
57': The referee is adamant that the penalty will stand! Silano is stepping up to take for Montecara, a pivotal moment in this bitter match!
58': Silano looks back at his teammates before placing the ball on the spot and giving a look to the sky. After a deep breath, he runs up and strikes it... Vilminskas dives the wrong way!
59': Over the bar, Silano misses! Vilminskas is spared guessing wrongly, and it remains goalless at the Missionário!
60': The crowd are going crazy behind the goal, heckling Silano! Vilminskas finally retrieves the ball and will get the game started again! Ruttland survive a penalty scare!
62': Vilminskas plays it short to Wittgenstein, but the Ruttish defender is not on the same page and sends the ball flying towards the Montecaran goal for the forwards to deal with.
63': Brought down well by Baumstein, somehow, but he's faced with a wall of Montecaran defenders and has to pass it back to Kraunaitis, who in turn sets Gauba off on a run down the left-hand side!
64': Gauba with a cross into the box, trying to find Judeikis cutting inside!
65': Judeikis gets his head to it, but it's wild... and on target...!
65': Saved by Milò, who had to react quickly to get to that! Not sure Judeikis even knew where that was headed! Ruttish corner!
66': Judeikis on the corner now! Not into the box, but outside to Köppen, who's waiting to shoot!
66': Just over from Köppen, but a good attempt by the midfielder!
68': Montecara are on the back foot here, and Ruttland are pushing well! Köppen again, the Ruttish midfielder has been everywhere today! Köppen to Judeikis, Judeikis can't find a way back into the box, cuts back to Dibulskis, who rifles it goalwards...!
69': OFF THE BAR FROM DIBULSKIS! The ball is up in the air, just a touch will tip it in!
70': But no, claimed by Milò with an authoritative leap!
72': Milò is staying down, trying to kill the Hounds' momentum for a bit. Montecara seem to have ridden out the worst of the storm.
73': The ball is sent out with a long and fast throw towards Nicoleta, but it's booted out by Wittgenstein for a Montecaran throw. Some changes to come on now.
(Montecaran substitution: 22. Graziano Sorbelo19. Giulio Silano)
(Ruttish substitutions: Naglis JusasVejas Kraunaitis, Lionginas GriguceviciusMecislovas Gauba)
75': Nicoleta will take the throw, just a short one to Bonadòn who passes it to Perfeti. Rosa makes a nice run into the box! Perfeti finds him! Rosa with the chipped shot...!
76': Tipped over by Vilminskas! What a save from the Ruttish keeper!
77': Montecaran corner. Bonadòn takes short to Sorbelo, his first involvement of the game is a cross into the box, where Marro is pouncing for the header...!
78': Wittgenstein gets his head to it first! Cleared by the Ruttish defender! But only out to Nicoleta...!
79': THE SHOT IS BLOCKED BY KÖPPEN! But he follows through and takes Nicoleta out with him! A risky challenge from the midfielder, and it's not going to pay off! The Lavanan referee shows Köppen his second yellow card! Ruttland will go down to ten men for the remainder of this match!
80': Köppen is taunted by Marro as he's walking off the pitch, and the Ruttish team is surrounding the Montecaran forward, including Köppen! It's another tussle on the pitch between these two sides! The referee is trying to separate Köppen and Marro!
81': Marro is also shown a second yellow by the referee! Both sides down to ten men! Additional yellow cards are shown to Nicoleta and Jusas!
83': Well, that situation is finally calming down. Just to recap, we've seen Karl Köppen and Spartaco Marro sent off, with Vilminskas, Perfeti, Cicòn, Nicoleta and Jusas on yellows!
85': It'll be a Montecaran free kick in a dangerous-enough spot, around 26 yards from goal. Nicoleta and Bonadòn are eyeing this up. Meanwhile both teams are making their final changes. Montecara not wishing to risk Nicoleta getting sent off.
(Ruttish substitution: Eimantas KronkaitisBasti Baumstein)
(Montecaran substitution: 6. Evandro Lepòr7. Tolomeo Nicoleta)
86': Nicoleta no longer eyeing this one up. Bonadòn is standing over the free kick alone.
87': The Montecaran hits the free kick well!
87': But it just sails over the bar! Close call for Ruttland!
88': Vilminskas to drill this one down the field!
89': Picked up by Kronkaitis with his first touch of the game. Kronkraitis over to Judeikis, who's holding the ball up well against Bertolìn. Judeikis manages to find Jusas who is making a run into the box! Tripped by Cicòn! The referee blows, penalty to Ruttland! And wow, Cicòn is shown a second yellow card! Montecara down to just NINE players!
90+1': Incredible scenes at the Missionário as Ruttland are awarded a stoppage time penalty, and now have a man advantage over their opponents despite being down to ten men themselves! It's the captain Judeikis who is stepping up to take this. A crucial, crucial penalty, for his team and for Ruttland as a whole. The captain's penalty saw them through against Rizealand in the round of 32, will it see them through today? Judeikis places the ball, takes a deep breath and puts his whole weight through the ball...!
90+2': TIPPED OVER THE BAR BY MILÒ! JUDEIKIS TRIED TO SEND IT TOP-LEFT BUT THE MONTECARAN KEEPER GUESSED CORRECTLY! WHAT A SAVE!
90+2': As the chaos dies down, we are finally announced seven minutes of additional time to play! Montecaran goal kick!
90+3': Milò boots it down the pitch, hoping a red and white shirt can pick it up, somehow! Lepòr manages to bring it down! Lepòr to Bonadòn, who finds Sorbelo out wide!
90+4': Sorbelo dribbles past Svirskis, and puts up a curling attempt on goal...!
90+4': SORBELOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE KING-KILLERS GO A GOAL UP AT THE DEATH, WITH NINE MEN ON THE PITCH! WHAT A STRIKE FROM SORBELO, THE SUBSTITUTE! WOW!
90+5': But no! It'll be VAR to save Ruttland late on! Sorbelo definitely began his run too early, he was a few inches ahead of Svirskis when he received the ball! The goal is waved off! 0-0!
90+6': Vilminskas happy that one's not going on his track record! He puts a nice ball out to Grigucevicius! Grigucevicius against the captain, Agostìn, who tracks well but can't prevent the cross from going into the box...!
90+7': Danauskas with the header... GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!! DANAUSKAS!!! DANAUSKAS!!! HIS SHIRT IS STRAIGHT OFF AND THE STADIUM IS SHAKING!! THE NINETEEN-YEAR-OLD WITH A LATE, LATE WINNER FOR THE HOUNDS!!! WHAT AN EVENTFUL TEN MINUTES WE'VE JUST HAD!
90+8': Again!? The Lavanan referee with his hand in his ear, the VAR team are speaking sternly, there's no doubt in their minds! The referee looks, he only looks once! This must be decisive! NO GOAL FOR RUTTLAND! DANAUSKAS: OFFSIDE! Unbelievable! And that's full time! We're playing an extra 30 at the Missionário!

FULL TIME

EXTRA TIME

91': We've barely calmed down from the 90 minutes, but we'll be starting an extra half an hour now! Crèsce immediately plugging the hole left in his defence by the sending off of Cicòn with a change! Nothing from Ruttland just yet.
(Montecaran substitution: 9. Sico Cechìn5. Elmo Perfeti)
92': Montecara in a 4-2-2 formation right now, while Ruttland playing a 3-5-1! Montecara seem to be adopting a defensive stance now, will this be the Hounds' game to decide? Certainly seems so! Kronkraitis on the ball now, trying to find Grigucevicius on the left!
93': Grigucevicius has the ball now, this battle between him and Agostìn will be crucial in deciding how this game ends. But the winger uses his extra energy to bound past the Montecaran captain, he's dribbling the ball into the box now! A tight angle, but he goes for a shot...!
93': It bends past the outstretched arm of Milò, who had little time to react...!
94': Off the post! But the ball remains in play, and Judeikis manages to slide and keep the ball in play, diverting it into the box again!
95': Cleared by Cechìn, but the ball lands in the lap of Jusas, who tries to hit it anywhere towards the goal!
96': Milò safely leaves that one to fly over the bar! Montecaran goal kick!
98': Montecara taking as much time as possible to resume play. The referee has finally had enough and shows a yellow card to the Montecaran goalkeeper, who complains.
100': Bonadòn to Rosa, the only two Montecaran midfielders left! Rosa knocks the ball in front of him and has an ambitious attempt at goal...!
101': It's deflected off the back of Hiệp for a Montecaran corner!
102': Bonadòn will take the corner! The Montecaran players are all crowded around Vilminskas, trying to put the goalkeeper off! Agostìn manages to break free of his defender and has a free header on goal...!
103': But he puts it wide! That should've been our first goal, by any measure. He'll be so, so disappointed with that effort. A sigh of relief breathed from the Ruttish defensive line!
105': Vilminskas trying to get his team down the pitch for one more chance, as one minute of additional time is shown on the board! He ushers his defenders forward, and sends a high ball towards Judeikis!
105+1': But the captain can't control the fast-paced ball, and it goes out for a Montecaran throw. No time for that, though! The referee says half time!

EXTRA TIME HALF TIME

105': The final substitution finally coming from the Ruttish manager, and it'll be an offensive one. They're looking to win this game before penalties!
(Ruttish substitution: Vaižgantas JozenasKonstantinas Dibulskis)
106': Jusas and Kronkaitis in the Ruttish central midfield now. Kronkraitis trying to find Judeikis, who's trying to be the difference-maker for the Hounds!
108': Judeikis up against Bertolìn now, he tries to knock the ball past him but the Montecaran defender brings him down! A free kick to Ruttland on the right-hand side, and a yellow card to Bertolìn!
109': Judeikis opting to take this one himself. No chance of a shot from here, but a great chance for a well-placed cross, which is what the captain opts for. Jozenas, the fresh substitute, rises to try and meet the cross...!
110': Jozenas with the header!
110': Saved by Milò, who catches it and falls to the ground!
111': Milò sees Lepòr making a run, he gets the ball, behind the halfway line or not!? The play is continuing, Lepòr is one-on-one with Vilminskas, who comes out to try and cut down the shot angle...!
112': LEPÒR LIFTS IT OVER THE HEAD OF VILMINSKAS, WHO FLOUNDERS TO THE FLOOR! IT'S BOUNCING IN!!! GOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
113': VAR have informed the referee that Lepòr's left foot was over the halfway line when began the run, and certainly was in front of the Ruttish defensive line! No goal!
115': Montecara are distraught with that decision, all Lepòr had to do was pay attention! Vilminskas will get it cleared back up the pitch!
116': Grigucevicius brings it down, against Agostìn once again, but this time it's passed inside to Jusas. Jusas a high ball over to Judeikis!
117': Judeikis with a first-time volley to cross it into the box! Great skill!
118': Jozenas tries to divert it on target but Milò manages to push it out for a Ruttish corner!
120': Judeikis standing over this Ruttish corner. Surely the last kick of the game as the fourth official announces one minute of additional time. Vilminskas has been given the all-clear to come up into the box!
120+1': The corner is taken! VILMINSKAS RISES!
120+1': VILMINSKAS' HEADER IS ON TARGET!
120+1': But quite easily punched out by Milò towards Sorbelo, who is sprinting down the pitch! The Ruttish goal is completely open!
120+2': The referee is allowing play to continue! Sorbelo is almost at the halfway line! Svirskis and Wittgenstein are sprinting for their lives, as is Vilminskas!
120+2': SORBELO SMASHES IT FROM THE HALFWAY LINE! IT'S ON TARGET!! WOW!
120+2': FABIO WITTGENSTEIN, TAKE A BOW. THE RUTTISH DEFENDER FLIES INTO THE NET, AND IT DOING SO CLEARS THE BALL OFF THE LINE, SAVING HIS TEAM! The referee's had enough, that's it! This game will be decided by penalties! Wittgenstein is still down, exhausted!

Montecara: Penalty 1 (Sorbelo): Montecara have won the coin toss and have opted to take first. It'll be the substitute, Sorbelo, to get the King-Killers started. He has a no-nonsense aura about his run-up, and strikes the ball hard and true!
Montecara: Penalty 1 (Sorbelo): Straight down the middle, Vilminskas dived out of the way! A great penalty by Sorbelo to open the rounds!
Ruttland: Penalty 1 (Judeikis): The Ruttish captain steps up first for his country. He's already missed a penalty today, so he'll be looking to put things right by getting the Hounds off to a good start here. It's a soft but measured run-up from Judeikis!
Ruttland: Penalty 1 (Judeikis): SAVED BY MILÒ, AGAIN! THE MONTECARAN KEEPER HAS HIS NUMBER TODAY!
Montecara: Penalty 2 (Rosa): A nightmare start for the Hounds, but the Montecarans will be elated to have gotten here with only nine players. It's the midfielder, Eufron Rosa, up to take next. A left-footer, he looks to fool Vilminskas with his eyes...!
Montecara: Penalty 2 (Rosa): And he does! Vilminskas is sent the wrong way as Rosa slots calmly into the bottom corner!
Ruttland: Penalty 2 (Danauskas): It's the 19-year-old striker up for Ruttland next. He's already had a goal disallowed by VAR in the game itself, how will that affect his mindset going into this penalty? He looks ready to rise to the occasion, a deep breath and drop of the shoulders as the teenager swings his right foot back...!
Ruttland: Penalty 2 (Danauskas): Completely unsavable! Nestled right into the top-left hand corner! Danauskas keeps Ruttland within striking distance of the King-Killers!
Montecara: Penalty 3 (Lepòr): Another substitute striker up for Montecara now, they'll want to keep this 100% record going to put pressure on Ruttland early. Lepòr places the ball delicately on the spot and adjusts it so that the valve is facing towards him. A few steps back and he begins his run-up...!
Montecara: Penalty 3 (Lepòr): Wide by Lepòr! The door swings wide open for Ruttland to bring this shootout level!
Ruttland: Penalty 3 (Jozenas): It's Jozenas up now, one of the more recent substitutes to enter the game. His run-up begins directly behind the ball, which is uncommon. He seems determined to score, though!
Ruttland: Penalty 3 (Jozenas): Milò is completely beaten, but the ball clatters off the crossbar and back towards Jozenas, who has his head in his hands! A crucial equaliser, missed!
Montecara: Penalty 4 (Bonadòn): A pivotal spot kick for the King-Killers now. If they score this, Ruttland have to score both of their remaining penalties to not lose. It's Tosco Bonadòn with a fancy run up to the ball!
Montecara: Penalty 4 (Bonadòn): SAVED BY VILMINSKAS! The Ruttish goalkeeper runs towards his team to celebrate, but it's not over yet: he's only kept them in it!
Ruttland: Penalty 4 (Kronkaitis): Kronkaitis, the substitute midfielder, up for Ruttland now. A quick gesture of the Sotirian cross before he places the ball down. A short run-up...!
Ruttland: Penalty 4 (Kronkaitis): DOWN THE MIDDLE, OFF THE CROSSBAR AND IN! ALL SQUARE!
Montecara: Penalty 5 (Agostìn): The captain Agostìn up for Montecara in this crucial spot. Essentially a must-score penalty. A deep breath and a kiss of the ball precedes the captain's penalty!
Montecara: Penalty 5 (Agostìn): AGOSTÌN STRIKES THE POST! POST AND OUT! THE MONTECARAN CAPTAIN HAS MISSED!
Ruttland: Penalty 5 (Grigucevicius): Incredible. You could hear a pin drop in the Missionário right now. The Ruttish substitute winner with a simple task: score and Ruttland are through. He looks to the sky and exhales, striking the ball low and hard...!
Ruttland: Penalty 5 (Grigucevicius): GRIGUCEVICIUS DRAGS HIS PENALTY WIDE! ONE KICK THAT SAVES MONTECARA AND KEEPS THEIR HOPES ALIVE! DESPAIR FOR RUTTLAND!
Montecara: Penalty 6 (Cechìn): With nine men, Montecara were certainly hoping they didn't have to go this deep into their lineup. It's the defender Cechìn up now, he looks nervous! A hopeful strike of the ball from the central defender!
Montecara: Penalty 6 (Cechìn): BUT VILMINSKAS SEES WHERE HE'S GOING! SAVED BY THE RUTTISH GOALKEEPER! THE MISSIONÁRIO ROARS!
Ruttland: Penalty 6 (Jusas): Back in the same spot as before, Jusas scores and Ruttland will advance to the quarter-finals! Jusas' run-up arcs around the ball...!
Ruttland: Penalty 6 (Jusas): JUSAS SHOOTS WIDE! MILÒ GUESSED RIGHT ANYWAY! THIS IS CRAZY!
Montecara: Penalty 7 (Ema): Another defender up for Montecara. You can't imagine what must be going through their heads at this moment. Ema pauses and looks into the crowd for a moment, before beginning his run-up!
Montecara: Penalty 7 (Ema): Ema smashes it into the side-netting! No way Vilminskas was getting near that one! Montecara end a streak of four missed penalties in a row!
Ruttland: Penalty 7 (Svirskis): A Ruttish defender now. Svirskis MUST score, or Montecara will advance. The tension is palpable. The defender sprints towards the ball!
Ruttland: Penalty 7 (Svirskis): GOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SVIRSKIS KEEPS THEM ALIVE!
Montecara: Penalty 8 (Bertolìn): The last Montecaran outfield player is stepping up. Some deep breaths and a pat on the back from Agostìn as he places the ball and prepares to shoot.
Montecara: Penalty 8 (Bertolìn): VILMINSKAS TIPS IT WIDE! SAVED! SAVED! VILMINSKAS IS GOING CRAZY!
Ruttland: Penalty 8 (Hiệp): Once more, Ruttland find themselves in a score-to-win situation. The central defender Vũ Hòa Hiệp stands over the ball, meticulously placed. A hurtling run-up!
Ruttland: Penalty 8 (Hiệp): HE SCORES!!!! SMASHED DOWN THE MIDDLE! MILÒ DIVES LEFT AND OUT OF THE WAY! RUTTLAND ADVANCE TO THE QUARTER-FINALS!!

ROUND OF 16: DAY 32
Image
Les Croisés decimated their opponents at the Luzelês today, emphatically securing their place in the quarter-finals, where they will face hosts Ardesia. Gaullica set the tone early, talisman Max Sartre powering a header past Chidike in the 8th minute. Isaïe Bonnel scored from 20 yards in the 17th minute to double Gaullica's lead, a shot driven well into the bottom-right corner. Claude Dupuis cut inside the box for Gaullica's third, feigning a curled shot and drilling it into the near corner in the 33rd minute. Obiako Richards brought down Dupuis in the box in the 40th minute, conceding a penalty that was converted by Sartre to make it four at the half.

Gaullica made two changes at the half, looking to rest some of their star players, bringing off Sartre and and Côté for Tongbang and Veisin. Pascal tapped home a corner in the 62nd minute to make it 5-0, and the substitute Tongbang managed to get on the scoresheet towards the end with a lovely curled finish past an utterly defeated Chidike in net.

Goals: Max Sartre (8', 40' (pen.)), Isaïe Bonnel (17'), Claude Dupuis (33'), Jean-Noël Pascal (62'), Savon Tongbang (86')
Cards: Obiako Richards, Nbuduisi Ude (yellow)
Player of the Match: Claude Dupuis (GAL)

LIVE COMMENTARY
-60:00: Welcome and bom-vindo to our final day of the Round of 16! We've had a thrilling series of games the past few days; but one of the most anticipated ones is today's bout between Estmere and defending champions Soravia. They'll certainly be bringing a thunderous performance here in Porto Sotiri's Estádio do Anel de Prata.
-50:00: Both teams are facing off for a chance to play in the quarter finals against Ruttland, who won their game against Montecara last night in a thrilling 8 penalty aside shootout that saw the Hounds best the King-Killers 4-3.
-45:00: On paper, the Sergeants are the stronger team - but at this stage in the tournament, these things are only guidelines at best. What is factual, and likely much more in favour of the defending champions, is that their starting 11 is untouched. The Blacks, however, are down two of their initial 11. Anagonye is out due to receiving two yellows last game, and Forcett has been benched by his manager on account of his injury.
-40:00: We've got another full stadium tonight as fans are pouring in to witness what could very well be one of the greatest sporting events in a generation.
-30:00: Half-an-hour to go until crunch time for these teams, and fans are getting restless! Aside from this match, only Gaullica and Tiwura are left to play to fill out our quarter finals roster.
-20:00: Twenty minutes to go, and our expectations are intense. There's a lot of hype between pundits, fans and the footballers themselves over this match up. Traffic on chirper is incredibly high.
-10:00: The Soravian tricolour and the Estmerish cross enter the field, followed by their players! The beginning of the end here! It'll be the Estmerish anthem first as the Blacks begin to sing: There'll Always be an Estmere!
-6:00: Beautiful! Let's see if that sentiment is true by the end of the day though. The Soravians follow on with their own bellowing anthem sung by the Sergeants: Berezen', zemlyaky!
-1:00: With a minute left, it's up to Ignatyev and Johnson to make the call for which team will start - and Ignatyev guesses correctly with tails! It'll be a Soravian start here!

FIRST HALF:
1’: Ignatyev with the kick-off! A raucous applause from fans of the Sergeants as the ball is passed to Kravchuk.
1’: Kravchuk sees the ball in the Soravian half, but it isn’t there for long as he lobs it across to the right centre-mid Yusupov.
2’: Yusupov, a rising star for the Sergeants, controls that pass with ease. He’s got pressure from Kamal here, but he’s got him on the run-around!
3’: Yusupov forward, past the half-way line, and into the Estmerish half as he runs from his position along the right hand side on the diagonal towards the middle! Kamal behind him, Holden trying to intercept!
4’: Holden’s doing his best to stop Yusupov, but the midfielder is successful in getting the ball away with a forward kick up the pitch. Naumov and Balabanov are both running for it, seemingly unsure the other could make it in time.
5’: Balabanov reaches the ball, but he’s immediately put in a tough spot by body-blocking Baratheon. Balabanov has no choice but to try to kick the ball in brief moments of clearance.
5’: Balabanov to Naumov!
6’: Naumov is successful in receiving the ball but it’s not long before he’s running that Johnson’s got a tackle on him! The ball’s out. Soravian corner!
7’: Ignatyev is taking the responsibility for the corner, and he’s got a good contingent of men in the box. He’s going to be looking out for Naumov, for his kicks, Balabanov for his height - and Yusupov for his awareness.
8’: The ball storms into the box!
8’: The scramble is very real, but superseding William’s leap for the ball, and Stạrċ’s running out of the goal, is Naumov’s attempt at a volley!
8’: But that’s a miss! Overcompensating for the angle, Naumov has sent it over the crossbar!
9’: Stạrċ’s ball. He delivers an underarm pass to Williams.
9’: Williams to Bolton! Bolton receives it with good timing, because Balabanov is causing a headache for this defence!
10’: Bolton to Holden, to Vice Captain Byrne. We're playing around the centre now.
11’: Byrne's attempt to get the ball to Kamal succeeds, but Kamal's facing some trouble from Sharov and Khudu.
12’: Khudu goes in for a tackle...! The ball is kicked away...!
12’: Kamal's gone down though! Peter Cloete, the Satavian ref, is here. And he's signalling to continue playing! Kamal's tripped, by his assessment.
13’: Khudu is practically not even waiting for that confirmation, and he passes to Sharov, down to Yusupov...!
14’: Yusupov back to Sharov, who's down the centre of the pitch.
14’: Sharov navigates past Byrne, swerving the ball around the feet of the Estmerish vice-captain to have a clear run into the box!
15’: He kicks! The direction to goal is currently clear, save for the keeper. There’s power in that shot!
15’: Deflected by Stạrċ! But the ball is still in play!
16’: Naumov is the first on the scene, but the Estmerish have him blocked and marked - this is tough. His only option is to kick back to the centre, where Sharov is!
16’: Sharov volleys the ball back towards goal! This is intense football, right here!
17’: BEAUTIFUL VOLLEY! SHAROV BRINGS THE GAME AHEAD 1-0 FOR THE SERGEANTS IN THE SEVENTEENTH MINUTE!. A GOAL FOR THE DEFENDING CHAMPS!
17’: This game has been dominated by the Sergeants thus far, but you have to admit - even with their dominance that was a shot nobody saw coming. Sharov has the unfortunate reality of being overshadowed by Yusupov and the two Soravian forwards, but he's proved himself here.
18’: The Soravians in the stands are euphoric! The waving of the tricolours of blue, white and yellow dominate the stadium!
18’: Byrne's ball, to Holden. Who kicks it back.
19’: Straight to Byrne, who catches that long shot beautifully with a half-volley to Kamal.
19’: Kamal's looking for an avenue to get the ball to Hemsworth, Gomez or Price and he's taking the risk.
20’: A poorly timed interception on the part of Dezhynoz sees Gomez fail to get the ball, but he's not got the control to keep it - and the ball is out! Estmerish throw in.
20’: Byrne is going to take this throw in. He's opting for an over-head toss, collected easily by Gomez, who dribbles past Ignatyev - making short work of one of the foremost defenders of the tournament.
21’: Gomez gets to an awkward point of the field, he's cornered in by Solomin - and his attempt to kick the ball clear is beautifully stopped by a thrusting kick from the Soravian defender. The ball isn't out, miraculously, and it's in Osarov's possesion now! The crowd goes wild!
22’: Osarov's sending that up the field to Yusupov, brilliant play here, and Yusupov's on it.
23’: Yusupov is one-on-one with Byrne here, and the Soravian's trying to make it around him...!
23’: But Byrne grabs the ball in their ensuring competition, to the roar of the Estmerish fans, and he's sending it back from whence it came - ball in the Soravian half!
24’: The defenders here are a tough lot, but Hemsworth is in control of the ball. He dribbles past Khudu and Kravchuk, but he's on his own. The defensive work from the other members of the Soravian team have locked him out of clear, makeable passes. It's him and Bychkov and he's still out of the box.
25’: Hemsworth takes his chance with a kick to equalise!
25’: Caught in the tight grasp of Bychkov! Beautiful! Solid keeping skills. Undeterred, eyes on the ball, unflinching.
26’: Hemsworth looks disappointed for missing that close, but Bychkov is relieved. His ball!
27’: An overarm throw sees Osarov return to possession of the ball, as the defender on the Soravian right crosses it with a left footed kick to Khudu.
27’: Khudu to Sharov, aiming to set him up again.
28’: Sharov' IS being set up again, it seems, and he begins a fantastic sprint along the left-hand side of the pitch..!
28’: For the Estmerish this ground is normally home to Anagonye, but today it's Williams - and he goes to stop Sharov!
29’: He's going for the tackle...!
29’: Sharov down, ball cleared but out and Cloete is here on the scene.
29’: The Satavian ref checks with VAR to support his decision, and despite Williams' protestations - he's awarded a yellow card for that blunder of a tackle. Soravian free kick.
30’: Sharov's taking the kick and he waits behind the sprayed-on line that the referee's demarcated.
31’: The Estmerish form their wall; but this is far-flung from goal. I doubt that Sharov can do it again. At least from here. He's kicking it...!
31’: ... And it is bounced away by the wall, but out of play into a Soravian corner! Horrifying for the Blacks!
32’: Yusupov's taking this corner.
32’: He runs up from the flag and delivers a decisive punt to the ball...!
33’: Caught by Stạrċ! Phenomenal save! But he's wasting no time, with an overarm toss to Holden - who's across the half-way line in a flash! Estmerish counter!
34’: Holden's staggered a bit due to the efforts of Kravchuk, but a swift pass to the left sees Price end up with the ball.
34’: Price with a kick that could equalise the game!
34’: Punched out by Bychkov! But that ball is still in play! It's Hemsworth's!
35’: A second shot in the matter of seconds as the Soravian defence is scrambling to control the Blacks' forward.
35’: But it's too little too late to stop Hemsworth shooting at goal for the second time this game!
35’: Bychkov dives...!
35’: But that's in, clear as day! The Blacks have equalised!
36’: A brilliant counter-attack that cleared through the Sergeants' defence has left the Soravians bewildered! Kalin looks disoriented from the speed of those moves, and he's barking out orders from his box.
37’: Khudu's ball.
38’: Khudu to Sharov, to Yusupov, to Khudu - as the three midfielders advance in unison across the midfield and blow past Holden and Byrne's attempts to halt them.
39’: Khudu's with the ball, and he breaks off from the formation to get some ground before kicking to Balabanov!
40’: But Balabanov isn't the only one with a want for the ball, and he's facing off against Baratheon here. The defender is holding his ground, trying to keep the Soravian forward in place.
40’: Baratheon's in the clear for an interception and he gets the ball back, with a kick to Stạrċ to keep the ball in their hands.
41’: Stạrċ's rolling the ball over to Williams with an underarm toss.
41’: Williams crosses to Johnson, to Bolton - but this is dangerous, because Naumov is here, already applying pressure.
42’: Naumov is unable to get the ball out of Bolton's hands, but Bolton's attempts to cross to Holden see both he and Khudu collide on the Estmerish half! Awful stuff!
42’: Cloete's over and he's not even thinking about it as Khudu is presented with a yellow on the grounds of excessive force and charging. Holden's clutching a knee, but he's slowly getting up. Estmere's ball. Not a good look for the Sergeants' vice captain.
44’: Holden begins with a light pass to Byrne, and Byrne to Kamal.
45’: But Kamal's attempts to get the ball outside of the centre-circle on the Soravian half are met with stiff resistance from Sharov; who's so far caused a lot of problems for the Blacks. There's going to give five minutes of extra-time.
45’ +1: Sharov clears the ball away from Kamal, but Holden manages to wrestle it free from Sharov! Estmere's on the offensive!
45’ +1: Holden's out of position, but he's moved ahead to try to get some ground on the Soravians.
45’ +2: Holden's crossed it to Gomez, who wastes no time in trying to get close to the box for a shot.
45’ +3: But that clatters off of a goalpost with a distinctive, heart warming thud for the Soravian goalie!
45’ +4: Bychkov sends that ball across the pitch for what is likely the last attack of the game.
45’ +4: Yusupov, ever present in the middle, grabs the ball and sprints - out of his place - for the Estmerish goal.
45’ +5: But a swift turn around from Kamal sees the Blacks' player kill the ball out from under Yusupov from behind, the ball rolling out of play, and the referee blowing his whistle.

HALF-TIME:
46': We're back, now, with the Blacks' starting us off at this drawn game. There've been some substitutions from both teams this half, however, including some changes to formation.
(Estmerish substitution: Flynn GreenAlex Kamal)
(Soravian substitution: CM: Oleg BaltabaevCB: 5. Kir Kravchuk)
47': A kick from Holden to Byrne's begun this game, and Byrne passes it back to Green.
48': Beautiful passing play from Byrne and Green here sees a circling of the Soravian centre, before green is given the ball and he's off!
48': Green's well into the Sergeants' half, and an attempt from Sharov to halt him falters as the Soravian strikes the green with a thud!
49': Green passes up the pitch to Gomez, and Gomez manages a pass to Hemsworth to avoid Baltabaev - but he's hot on the tail of the Estmerish star striker.
50': Hemsworth is forced away from taking a shot by passing to Price.
51': Price's quick on the ball and runs into the box from its right side, but he's brought to the ground in a tumbling collision with Solomin!
51': Cloete doesn't hand out any cards, but that's a penalty for Estmere.
51': Solomin must be kicking himself. Dangerous advantage here to Estmere!
52': It'll be Price's penalty to take.
52': The weight of a nation on him, who's aspirations to advance may very well rest on this. He begins his run up...!
53': And it's a defining SAVE from Bychkov who leaps into the air and pushes the ball out of goal!.
53': Cause for celebration, however, is cut short at the blow of a whistle from the ref. That penalty will need to be retaken!
53': Price took the penalty before the referee blew his whistle, and Cloete gives Price a yellow card for the infringement. There is protest from the Estmerish team, but Price is telling them to calm down.
54': The ref's whistle blows, and now Price readies his kick...!
54': IT'S IN! FANTASTIC SHOT FROM PRICE, SEEING BYCHKOV JUMP IN THE WRONG DIRECTION! Kalin is furious, demanding a dismissal on the penalty! "He fucking missed!" is seen mouthed by the manager.
55': Back to the middle for a Soravian start, as Cloete maintains the goal is legal. Ignatyev begins with the kick-off.
56': Ignatyev to Dezhynov, and the Soravians are playing with the ball close to their proverbial chests here.
57': Dezhynov brings it back to Bychkov, and the goalie takes the light rolling ball into his grasp.
58': Kicked across the stadium! Anyone's ball.
59': A direct competition between Yusupov and Green here for the ball sees Yusupov wrestle the ball from Green as the latter caught it on his chest, and Yusupov is clear for a run towards the box! Fantastic player, fantastic control.
60': Yusupov's cleared Holden and Bolton, just Baratheon between him ands goal.
60': He's not taking that risk... or is he?
60': He's shooting at goal! No! The goalpost?!
61': Baratheon tries to get in the way, but the ball rolls beneath his calf, and Stạrċ dives to the left-hand side, only to see the ball clatter off the goalpost! No goal! But the ball is in play!
61': TO BE TAPPED IN BY BALABANOV!!!! WHAT A PLAY! EQUALISED WITHIN MINUTES HERE!
62': ABSOLUTE JUBULATION FROM THE SORAVIANS HERE AS THE SERGEANTS HAVE EQUALISED! KALIN STILL LOOKS FURIOUS, AND BARRY'S BROUGHT A HAND TO HIS CHIN IN CONTEMPLATION.
62': But that's not stopping Balabanov's celebration as he runs to the corner flag nearest the Soravian stands with arms outstretched before sliding across the ground.
63': Williams is starting us off with the kick from the centre, giving it to Holden before he's jogging backwards towards the Estmerish defensive line.
64': Holden's got the ball, and he kicks it around with Byrne, around Yusupov and Khudu's attempts at interception - before the midfielders relinquish the ball by kicking it up to Hemsworth, who's come down the pitch for the ball.
65': Hemsworth breaks into a sprint across to the box, putting pressure on the Sergeants - but that defensive line is coordinated right now.
66': His attempt to pass to Gomez is squandered by Baltabaev!
67': Baltabaev to Orasov, back to Baltabaev, and around Gomez!
67': Gomez is struggling here, he can't seem to keep up with this defensive criss-crossing!
68': Orasov clears it to the centre! Caught by Yusupov!
68': Yusupov runs circles around Green here, but the midfielder isn't making it easy for the Soravian to get the ball to his team.
69': It's back to the defensive line, with Solomin passing to Bychkov.
69': As quickly as he receives that ball with an awaiting scoop of the hands, he's dropping it on the goal line and kicking it across the pitch with tremendous force!
69': Both Naumov and Johnson leap for it, but it's Johnson's ball as Naumov misses and lands on a tumble! It looks like he's twisted his ankle!
70': He's up with Johnson's help, but that's a clear limp - and he's going to be subbed as per Kalin's instructions.
(Soravian substitution: CF: Melor LytkinCF: 7. Modya Naumov)
72': We resume play with Johnson's ball, near the Estmerish box. A valiant effort from the Sergeants, with the unfortunate injury of Naumov knocking the winds out of their sails.
72': Johnson to Green.
73': Green receives the ball well, even though it was wider than Johnson intended, and finds himself being body blocked by Khudu.
73': Back to Johnson, who clears it to Byrne now.
74': But Byrne loses the ball to a faster Sharov! Sharov's running towards the box from the right-wing now!
74': He avoids the charging Bolton with a quick pass to Balabanov!
74': BALBANOV! HE'S TAKING A SHOT FROM THIS ANGLE! THE BALL CURVES AS IT SOARS TOWARDS THE GOAL!
74': Stạrċ takes his leap to the top left corner...!
74': ... but the ball is in! Swerving around the goal! What a shot! This is beautiful!
75': But the joyous cheers of the Soravians are cut shot as Cloete is being consulted by VAR.
75': That's NO GOAL for the Soravians, Balbanov was offside when he received the ball from Sharov.
76': Stạrċ and manager Max Barry look relieved. Still all to play for here. We've returned to 2-2.
76': Stạrċ's ball, and it's straight ahead to Baratheon.
76': Baratheon to Bolton, managing to avoid an encroaching Lytkin.
77': Lytkin's left in the dust as Bolton speeds past, with the ball at his feet.
78': He's getting rid of that ball with a quick kick to Holden, a solid aspect of the Estmerish mid-field.
78': Holden's facing Yusupov, Khudu and Sharov - a trinity that's caused the Estmerish midfielders a lot of heartache today.
79': But Holden and Byrne's good position see the ball past this trio.
79': Byrne's up field, out of his usual spot, but someone needs to get that ball to Hemsworth, Price or Gomez - and he's the man for it.
80': He's kicked it clear, and it's beautifully received by Gomez with a header, who launches it straight to Price!
80': Price is under a lot of pressure, even as the ball lands near him, and he's battling Osarov for it.
81': The Soravian defender leaps as Price kicks, and the ball is out of play - but the goal is safe for now. Estmerish corner kick.
82': There's a lot of debate on who's going to be taking this kick. Until Gomez decides he's the one for it.
82': The box is brimming with players, Gomez places his hands on the sides of his nose, waits, shakes them off, and prepares to kick.
82': It's into the box, tremendous speed and power!
83': Dezhnyov leaps for it with a header..!
83': And he's got it! Ball's out of the box!
84': Estmere looks deflated at that lost attempt, but Byrne is running for the out of the box ball.
84': But so is Khudu.
84': A battle of the midfield for this ball here. And it seems Khudu's on it first.
85': A crossed kick to Sharov sees him run down the field towards the Estmerish goal.
85': BUT WHAT A TACKLE FROM GREEN! CLEAN AS A WHISTLE, BALL ROLLS TO HOLDEN, AND BACK TO BYRNE!
86': Estmere's on the offensive dangerously close to the end of the game! Byrne's ball straight to Gomez.
86': Gomez jumps for any chance to get this ball close to goal!
87': ... But he's missed it! Bychkov catches the ball.
87': Bychkov's got a choice to make here. And he's going with clearance above all. With the Estmerish team about him, he's sending it across - prompting a run from the Estmerish mid-field who find themselves too far forward.
88': Sharov's ball, and he's down for a sprint to a relatively open goal in comparison to the Sergeant's own.
88': Sharov clears past Byrne and Bolton, sliding the ball out of Johnson's attempted interception by passing it to Lytkin and the substituted forward takes his shot!!
88': SAVED BY THE KEEPER! HEARTS ARE POUNDING HERE FOR BOTH SIDES!
89': There's complete panic, disoriented teams, tired players - and Stạrċ's ball is sent across the pitch.
90': Six minutes of extra time! Holden's ball! He passes to Green!
90': Green manages to avoid the interception coming his way from Lytkin, but it's straight back to Holden.
90' +1: Holden to Green once the latter's run out and created some distance.
90' +2: Green's tumbled, but not before the ball is kicked in the direction of Price!
90' +2: The Soravian backline has Bychkov, Osarov, Ignatyev and Solomin. Dezhynov is too far forward at this point. The Estmerish are mounting an attack with three forwards and two mid-fields in the rear.
90' +2: Price gets the ball across to Hemsworth, who takes a shot.
90' +3: But that ball is sent flying by Ignatyev's timely kick!
90' +3: Despite Orasev's speed, he's unable to get to the ball in time! Estmerish corner.
90' +3: Hemsworth is taking this corner. There's all to play for here, or we're going into extra-time.
90' +4: He's taken the shot. The stadium watches with baited breath.
90' +4: The first to react to it as it zones in on the box is Solomin, who's leapt...
90' +4: But so has Price...
90' +4: And it's the Estmerish forward who's just inching ahead of Solomin!
90' +4: Bychkov! The keeper intervenes and catches the ball in his grip.. The Estmerish are scrambling back for the likely counter.
90' +5: Bychkov defying convention here with a short kick to Solomin, to Ignatyev, to Khudu...!
90' +5: BUT KHUDU'S BEEN INTERCEPTED BY AS HE'S TRIED TO OUTPACE THE ESTMERISH FORWARD! GOMEZ! BACK TO THE SORAVIAN GOAL!
90' +5: GOMEZ HAS THE WORLD TO CLAMBER OVER HERE BUT IN SPITE OF THE BLOCKAGES HE'S KICKING THE BALL STRAIGHT AT GOAL!
90' +5: IT SLIDES BETWEEN IGNATYEV'S LEGS AND SOLOMIN'S KICK AWAY THROUGH A SLIDING TACKLE ONLY REDIRECTS IT AWAY FROM BYCHKOV!
90' +5: SOLOMIN'S TAP HAS DONE IT FOR THE BLACKS. 3-2 IN THE FINAL MINUTES OF THE GAME FROM THE UNLUCKIEST OWN GOAL I'VE EVER SEEN.
90' +5: THE CELEBRATION IS DELAYED BY FRACTIONS OF A SECOND FROM THE FANS OF THE BLACKS, BUT THE CROWD IS KILLING FOR IT!!! Dejected Soravians are leaving.
90' +6: The final minute of the game will likely be the Soravian counter, and they're all out here for it. Including Bychkov. They've all to play for here.
90' +6: Ignatyev rolls the ball over to Khudu, who passes it back, who sends it straight to Balabanov.
90' +6: Balabanov gets it over the half way line, and it's soon sent straight to Lytkin - who's speeding ahead of all the Blacks' defenders.
90' +6: Johnson and Baratheon try their best to see him stopped; but it's all on Lytkin to be a lynchpin for his team with what is very much the final kick of the game.
90' +6: Lytkin is pressing on, with the clock counting down on him. He's got to make this count. He's managed to swerve Baratheon, Johnson's blocking him -- and he kicks to Balabanov!
90' +6: ... But it's kicked out of play by sprinting Williams! The ref blows his whistle!
