Road to Glory

HUElavia has their Qualifiers Group assigned and are given a fairly decent set of opponents and matches for this cycle.

HUElavia enter their 18th World Cup Qualifiers looking to finally end their drought of not making the World Cup, and this time they got a solid set of matches to look forward to throughout the qualifiers. Going into the official draw, HUElavia was placed into Pot 3, as the 13th ranked team in the pot, making them one of the lower seeds of that pot.

Once the draw was done, HUElavia had their opponents known. HUElavia (45), was put into Group 8 with the likes of: Sajnur (102), Germenia (UR), Zeta Reka and Hugeltaldom (65), Dystopian Reich (UR), Audioslavia (28), Equestria (130), Qasden (75), United Adaikes (212), Quakmybush (163), and Kandorith (13). Based off the preliminary rankings, HUElavia received a favorable draw, but as the past few cycles have shown, easier opponents does not mean that it's an easier road to the World Cup.

Out of the draw, HUElavian fans displayed great pleasure at some of the nations Los Amarillos/Os Amarelos were going to face off against. In particular, fans really enjoyed facing off against Kandorith once more in a qualifiers, given HUElavia had defeated them in their National Stadium many years ago. Due to much clammor, the HFA announced a venue change, to where HUGames Stadium (72,000) in Sega will be replacing Estadio Costeiro (78,000) in HUEsilia due to the strong implication that HUElavia will host Kandorith there in honor of their shared Yamoto culture in their countries. In exchange for this, Estadio Costeiro was announced to be given automatic appearances in the qualifiers for the next two cycles. In general, HUElavia is meeting up against familiar faces, such as Sajnur, United Adaikes, Qasden and Zeta Reka and Hugeltaldom, whom the team has played against before.

Thus, with the schedule released, HUElavia's matches will be as follows:

MD 1:
Audioslavia vs HUElavia

MD 2:
HUElavia vs Equestria
(Al-Rahid Stadium, Hamar)

MD 3:
Qasden vs HUElavia

MD 4:

MD 6:

MD 7:

MD 8:

MD 9:
HUElavia vs Germenia
(Helles Stadion, Bish)

MD 10:
Zeta Reka and Hugeltaldom vs HUElavia

MD 11:
HUElavia vs Dystopian Reich
(Chetka Arena, Chetka)

MD 12:
HUElavia vs Audioslavia
(Estadio Santiago, Puerto Santiago)

MD 13:
Equestria vs HUElavia

MD 14:
HUElavia vs Qasden
(Estadio Salvador, Sao Salvador)

MD 15:
Bye

MD 16:
United Adaikes vs HUElavia

MD 17:
HUElavia vs Quakmybush
(Estadio Bendito, San Franco)

MD 18:
Kandorith vs HUElavia

MD 19:
HUElavia vs Sajnur
(Estadio Hueti, Jinaqa)

MD 20:
Germenia vs HUElavia

MD 21:
HUElavia vs Zeta Reka and Hugeltaldom
(Estadio Nacional, Curumba)

MD 22:
Dystopian Reich vs HUElavia

With the venues assigned, HUElavia is expected for every venue to be sold out (or at least nearly sold out), and there is much hope that the team can make much noise and possibly make the playoffs for the Qualifiers, and maybe even make their grand return to the World Cup. Here's to what can be a promising qualifiers!

Our Quadrennial Predictions Post

I guess it's probably not quadrennial since the World Cup happens somewhere between every 2-3 years but I have no idea what the word is for that and other countries seem to believe it's every 4 years, while others say it takes place approximately 4 times a year and we're all part of a simulated computer game. Who knows what's real anymore? Anyway, Milchama is in a group with other teams and we need to see who we'll play and beat or lose to or draw or maybe tie. There are only 4 real results as we've learned from cricket and all of them are possible in soccer, some of them with different combinations. So, without further ado, here is our group:

Group 11
Olastor - Don't know them and I think they're new. They might not be but there are no helpful ranks here on the side right now and we could look up the KPBs but who is doing that research? You don't pay for journalism like that here at the Alexandria Times-Tribune-Sun-Moon-Sky-Picayune-Courier-Post-Pre-Forward-Current-Reader so 2 wins.

Yakk - I liked Southwesteastnorth better. 2 wins.

Ascvalion - I don't think they're new but I also don't think they're very good. Regardless, I know we're better than them and so that should be two more easy wins. You know, I don't think this group will be very hard.

Cassadaigua - Oooooohhhhh!!!! I know them! Not in a good way either. They ruined us in 50s as Milchama never qualified for a single cycle in the 50s after doing great in the 30s and 40s. There was a time when they were our arch-rivals competitively but time, Isolation, and indifference have changed that. Also, we're somehow better than them now (again) so this will be fun! Either way I don't think we can get two wins off of them that easy. 1 win and 1 draw.

Astograth - Another one we know! Though mostly from paratext and not from the text itself. [ed note: hopefully they can figure out that reference because I sure can't] Anyway, when it comes to the textual football Astograth are bad, or at least mediocre. Regardless we should win pretty easily. 2 wins.

Notricia - I got nothing, well actually I have their rank, they're unranked. That's right I did research this time! Two wins.

Milchama - That's us! We're good now! Like, not good good, but should make the World Cup good. That's something! We re-started 5 or so cups ago so that's a pretty big jump in a relatively short amount of time. Much like the actual 90s, the World Cup 90s have been good to us. Should get two wins.

Brascocia- After unextensive research we have determined they are a fake nation. So we assume we should get two 3-0 victories over them. If not, we may have to confront our own mortality and boy would that suck. Anyway, 2 wins.

Koronavia - You know, they're not bad, still not particularly good, especially without qualifying for the last Cup of Harmony. I would expect 2 wins but if we get one draw I would not smash my desk unlike some of these other nations. I'll be bold, 2 wins.

Adab - Now we get to the actual good teams. Adab are solid, ranked 51st, and should be really in with a shout. Of course, that last time that happened was with Zeta, Reka, and the whole Hugeltaldom and we destroyed them. It shouldn't be different here. 2 wins.

Nephara - So far, I've realized, that I've predicted exactly 1 draw for Milchama, that would be absolutely ridiculous and some ridiculously good qualifying we're probably due for one shock loss and Margaret will mess us up. That brings us to the Cormorants. At our last World Cup all we needed to do was beat them in order to advance (well we needed some other results to go our way but they did so it came down to that) and we did not. It was not particularly close as Nephara destroyed us 4-2. What does this mean for this World Cup? While the Cormorants may slip up against other opposition it won't be us. 2 losses.

There you have it, Milchama beats who they are supposed to beat and loses to who they are supposed to lose to and should, with some luck, make it to the World Cup again. See you for Matchday one!

The dawn of a new cycle, as World Cup Qualifiers 94 approach. For Flavovespia, manager Augusto Rinaldi, and the 26 players in the squad, the expectations are high. 3 consecutive World Cup appearances, and the fans will want that streak to continue. The dream would be to break into the knockout stages for the first ever time, having not yet escaped the group stage. Many are looking at the core of the squad who won the CAFA Cup twice, and sensing this could well be their last tournament together. Aarif Muhammad, David Lyons, Stuart Cookson, Kieron Player, Michael Cole and Adrian Jones have all reached 31 now, whilst none of them are clearly on the decline, there’s a sense that these stars of today for Flavovespia could soon be the stars of yesteryear. The rotation options of the squad reflect this, with several young debutants called up, the future stars of tomorrow fans will hope, maybe even the stars of today if things go well.

Some of the call ups have received some criticism for just how young the players are, Christopher Hill, Charles Shepherd and Peter Langdon still in their teens. In his first press conference of the campaign, at the squad reveal ceremony, Augusto Rinaldi was coy on the topic of player ages, both young and old. “Well I have selected them because they have impressed me in the Super League. I do not think you can say a player is too young, Bagshaw was not too young to come in and replace Hall. But of course everyone in the squad has to show in training they deserve to be on the pitch, and deliver on the pitch”.

The draw was an interesting affair for Flavovespia. The randomisation order of the higher pots left Pot 2 to be the last drawn, and Flavovespia became the very last team out of the proverbial hat, drawn into Pot 15. Drawn from Pot 1 is Vilita, an Atlantian Oceania opponent Flavovespia are yet to face. Its 18th vs 25th in the KB rankings, so Flavovespia will look at Matchday’s 5 and 16 as potentially key if they are to snatch the group victory. Flavovespia also face Valentine Z, the team from Pot 3, for the first time, on Matchday 11 and the final Matchday 22. A naïve analysist may suggest drawing the lowest ranked side on paper in Pot 1 and Pot 3 are a boost. However, Flavovespians are not known for taking such omens with optimism. Flavovespia have some opponents they’ve faced before, Ziwana, Trolleborg, Euran Oceania Territories and Patriotlandia. Ziwana way back in World Cup Qualifiers 84 proved tough opponents, a 4-4 draw at home and a 3-2 loss away the results when these sides met before. Patriotlandia were in Flavovespia’s group last time, and after a 6-0 home victory for Flavovespia, and a 0-2 away victory for Flavovespia, Patriotlandia will want to end that poor record. The draw and match order has left Flavovespia hopeful they can challenge at the very top of the group, but they’ve got a few tough runs, and will need to replicate their early form of the last cycle, and not the classic early struggles of the earlier cycles.

Depth is something that will be key for Flavovespia to get right. Across a 20 game qualifying campaign, and with so many of the squad in high level leagues or playing IFCF games, managing the workload will be key, whilst also finding the right starting 11 for each game. A squad of 26 remains, and last cycle it was only Thomas Foley, 3rd choice goalkeeper, who saw no minutes. 10 of the squad are 25 and under, so there’s time for those to get their early steps of international football in, although Flavovespia must make sure they deliver the results expected, regardless who’s on the pitch.

Flavovespia open their campaign at home to Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer. A fellow Anain nation, they lie to the west of the main landmass of Nova Calania. The city state with a population a bit under half a million, is famous for its tapir population and tropical weather. The national team themselves are nicknamed The Tapirs. A perfect group stage display in the Baptism of Fire 81 was met with an unfortunate 1-2 loss to South Americanastan in the Round of 16. Flavovespia, and Saints Park, St Astons City, will therefore have the honour of hosting Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer’s first ever World Cup Qualifying game. Playing a similar 4-3-3 to Flavovespia, Frédérique Goudreau-Luneau is the key goalscoring threat at the top of the attack for the visitors. Attacks down the left, via Louis-Philippe Berlinguette have proven to be effective. Whilst on paper Flavovespia are favoured, they know there’s no points on the board yet, they’ll have to work hard to earn them.

Preview vs Ancherion... AND THE REST!

MD 1, June 27th: @ Ancherion
As the IceBears prepare for their first ever World Cup qualifier, Rumors suggest Vincent Telerman will be coming off the bench against Ancherion because of "severe jet lag" after a 19 hour flight from Cathair. Despite the loss, according to PolarRadar.uhl, the rest of the Hawklandian National Team has already arrived in the nation. Ancherion is a solid team, and United Hawkland will need to put on a good showing. They will likely be playing a 4-4-2 formation with Alexander de Klerk playing CAM, and the Cobrio dual national Nikele playing striker. Our score experts predict a 2-2 result, with goals from Robledo and Nikele.

MD 11, July 7th: vs Kharakia
But here's what we all care about. After the recent orders passed by the KRK FA and the Kharakian Government, known locally as the "Embargoed Acts", Hawklandian players and fans are barred from entering Kharakia. It is still unknown if the match at Kharakia will be played, but it is confirmed that that MD 7 game will be played fully, at Emerald Crown Park. UHL will be submitting a request to forfeit the match against Kharakia. The United Hawkland Government is also seriously condemning the actions of Kharakia, suggesting sanctions or possibly banning Kharakian travelers from our homeland as well.
Image

Image

This tweet by Filip Sundberg sums it up perfectly. Millennias of history, gone. The Embargoed Acts were talked about for a while, but were finally put into effect after a bomb threat was called into a large Kharakian derby by a mentally ill Hawklandian citizen living in Kharakia. As a result of only this one person's actions, the entire country of United Hawkland is banned from entering Kharakia.

Also, there are some serious changes to the roster. For one, the Cobrio dual-national Nikele will be committing to the UHMNT as a substitute striker. Kaspar School has been retired from the UHMNT after his discriminatory comments directed toward the Kharakian Government. For the world cup, there will be many more players taking part on the reserve team.
This is our preview for the first couple matchdays, there isn't much to report on now but expect further reporting after the match against Ancherion.

OOC Note: In the past few months, I have some thought to merge several puppets into a single new nation and use it as a replacement for Pemecutan as my main nation in NS. However, I thought it would need a lot of world building and time consuming to RP each and every process of it. So I decided to rewrite the history of Pemecutan instead and placed these puppets as part of them right from the start. But then some of the previous RP storyline regarding Pemecutan's world building might still be relevant while some are don't. And to avoid further confusion, for this WCQ I present you the complete history of Pemecutan.

HISTORY OF PEMECUTAN

Introduction

Pemecutan or officially United Kingdom of Pemecutan is a federal parliamentary constitutional monarchy. It is an archipelagic country located in the south central of Mandalanusa. The country consists of 3 major island groups, from north to south, Yuhansa, Majegau and Cendana Islands. It has an area of around 56,000 km2 and a population of around 35 million peoples (1780 census). Pemecutan use its own calendar system known as Pawukon which is currently in year 1785. Puradhipa is the capital city while Ubung is the largest.

Image

The history of Pemecutan can be traced back from 200,000 BC when the last ice age started to shaping Mandalanusa's land and islands into it's current form. The early human which was settled in Pemecutan many islands becomes isolated with the rise of sea level. The once large Jambuvan Plain was flooded and turned into numerous islands, known as Jambuvan Archipelago. Today, the archipelago is occupied by some notable countries of Mandalanusa; Eraman, Sharktail, Southern Palm Islands and of course Pemecutan. The two huge migrations from The Pacific turned the face of the region and sparks advancement in the area. Early Pemecutan was filled with a lot numbers of scattered settlements known as Pakraman, notably in the main islands group. The conquest and remnants of Sripala Kingdom's influence led to a unified Pemecutan. The country was breaking and rebuild several times. It also spread their influence into nearby islands such as Yuhansa, Cendana and even Mitra and Soma Island (today's part of Eraman). The coming of outside power change the country. It fell under the suzerainty of Anglandia Kingdom (later Terranian Empire) and become their protectorate state. They were saved from the World Wars with a little scratch. The event however lead to the independence demand. Pemecutan eventually declared their independence in 1686 Pawukon. They pursue a grand design of Greater Pemecutan. They took over Cendana Islands in 1689 and Yuhansa Islands in 1695 Pawukon to accomplished their dream of Greater Pemecutan despite minus Mitra and Soma Islands who decided to join Eraman. The country entered an economic miracle in 1700's and 1720's just to be crushed by financial crisis in 1740-1743. They try to recover but it was slowed down by several terrorists attacks. However, the country managed to become one of the biggest economy in the region behind Libonesia and Samudera Darussalam.

Prehistoric Pemecutan

Stone Age

In the early Stone Age, the region of Mandalanusa was settled by an early human species. Thought to be a subspecies of Homo erectus, further study showed otherwise. Anglish archeologist, James Clark found a different traits from fossils found in the region than Homo erectus which back up his hypothesis that both are different species. In his book, Prehistory Mandalanusa, Clark mentioned that the earliest human to live in the region was not a subspecies of Homo erectus but a different species which he called Homo malayanensis. His further study also suggest that this species consists of 2 subspecies, Homo malayanensis mandalans which lived mostly in western part of the region especially in mainland Mandalanusa and Homo malayanensis libunens which lived in eastern Mandalanusa. And the ancient Jambuvan plain together with Yuhansa and Cendana isthmus were where these two subspecies collide. Both were living in harmony. They lived a hunter-gatherer life and roamed settled the area from around 500,000 BC until its extinction around 30,000 BC. And as the ice melts and separating their vast land, these early human began an isolated live.

Image
The skull of Homo petanggi
In the year 1749 Pawukon, a group of researcher lead by duo archeologists, Willem Starhust and Stephen Lehmann found a new small hominid fossil in the island of Petang, the main island of Petang Islands, a small island group north of Giri Island and part of Majegau Islands. Once thought to be fossil of a young Homo malayanensis, the duo found that it was a different species. It is believed to be the descended of Homo malayanensis who reduced in size over thousands of years as the effect of island dwarfism. The species was then named Homo petanggi. This species is believe to live around 80,000 - 5,000 BC.

Around 40,000 BC, the first migration wave from The Pacific happened. They are known as the Purbaran people. These people live peacefully alongside Homo malayanensis and Homo petanggi until the extinction of the laters. These people create sharper tools and bring early religion into Mandalanusa and of course Pemecutan. They are believe to have a high-level maritime skill and reached Pemecutan via North Mandalanusa Ocean or northern Jambuvan Archipelago. They have shifted from nomadic live to living in cave. This can be known from many cave art that are discovered such as in Selonding Cave, Bukit Mentik and Karang Cave, Pecatu Hill Range. As the early humanoid extinct, Purbaran people roamed the area and spread further south. In the late Stone Age, religious sites are found in the form of step pyramid. A type of burial casket named sarcophagus are found abundantly in Majegau Islands and Cendana Islands main island, Sambojo Island. Other findings such as ornaments and jewelry made of animal tooth and tools from polished stone.

Image
A small step pyramid found in Blahkiuh town.
The Lanyaran people then came around 3,000 BC and reached Pemecutan in 2,500 BC. They change the shaped of the islands with the introduction of wet-field cultivation, irrigation system and pottery making. The coming of Lanyaran people also the reason why the Purbaran moved from the coastal area into a higher and more isolated place. Settlements were already established as they move out from the cave. But similar to the Purbarans, water springs, rivers and coastal area were the main location where the Lanyaran settlements can be found. The coming of Lanyaran people is during the advancement period as people who live in Pemecutan advancing from Stone Age into Bronze Age. Lanyaran's irrigation system is still in use until today with some adjustment. It is known as Subak Irrigation System.

Bronze Age

Bronze working were begin to known around 1,000 BC in Pemecutan. It was spread from the mainland's Citayem culture. In Pemecutan itself, the center of bronze culture is believed to be located in upstream Pacung River in what is today Belaluan Town. This culture is known as Apit Yeh culture as it is centered between 2 rivers. In 1723, a group of researcher unearthed the largest single-cast bronze Nekara, a kettle drum in the town of Batuyang. It has a diameter of 160 cm and around 180 cm in height. It is the largest of its kind in the region. What makes the researcher shocked is the location of the finding. Batuyang is a small town located in a small island of Batubulan. The 250 km2 island located around 130 km northeast of Giri Island, Pemecutan main island and the island itself doesn't produce bronze or copper. This makes the researcher believe that an ancient trading route have been established around the islands of Pemecutan or even in Jambuvan Archipelago. The hypothesis is backed with the truth that Lanyaran people were a high-level maritime skilled people. The Nekara (nickname the Moon Stone) is currently kept in Pura Penataran Sasih, Batuyang and is considered a sacred and valuable things by the locals. The replica is display at Pemecutan Museum of National History.

The Apit Yeh culture is the bridging between Pemecutan's prehistoric and historical era. And that is for the next part of History of Pemecutan.

Chen Huikang era begins in the World Cup,

In some nations, there is nothing new about having a managerial change. For whatever reason, those countries change their soccer leader every World Cup cycle, or every other one, so that when it happens, no one makes alot out of it. It doesn't even matter if they were successful to some, if they did not meet the lofty expectations of their respective soccer association, then they are gone, and a new face comes in. That is not how things go in Cassadaigua. There was plenty of stability at the top in our first era, the one in which we won a pair of World Cups, and since our return to action in World Cup 78, we have had only two managers: Stephanie Sweeney and Brittany Byers. Sweeney stepped down after World Cup 87 to take on duties as the President of the Cassadagan Association for Soccer Excellence, and would name Byers to be her replacement. Brittany had been the assistant to Stephanie for a number of years, and had participated as a defender for her during the competition. However, after the team failed to qualify for the World Cup again, Byers announced that she would step down from the position following the Cup of Harmony.

Was it a forced resignation? Would Brittany have been sacked if she didn't resign? These are questions that CASE has not answered in a believable manner, continuing to say that Brittany opted to move on from the position. Brittany never implied that there was any pressure for her to step down, and I think a big part of this would be the level of respect that exists between Sweeney and Byers. It's also very clear that CASE wanted to turn the attention to their new manager, Chen Huikang, who we'll get into later in the article, and for it to be less about Byers. In the days leading up to the World Cup qualifiers, I was able to ask Brittany a few questions about how things have been for her.

Qualifying for World Cup 94 is about to begin. Whether as a player, and assistant manager, or manager, this is the first World Cup that you will not be participating in since World Cup 78. How difficult is that? Will you attend games?

"It will be different to watch it as a fan. It's not going to be difficult, I have been a part of fifteen World Cups, I'm about as spoiled as one can be in that department. I'll be at many games, I am planning to be at most of our home games, securing suites in Concord Heights and Brattleboro and a few others. I'm also going to go to Milchama and to Adab. Those are a couple nations that I have never really been too, so it's cool."

Not Nephara?

"Maybe, we'll see. I have been there many times, and while it's a great place, I am not going to have a travel schedule that would be a lot like I am playing. It will be more relaxing, though I will be coaching in my head, I'm sure!"

Have you thought about pursuing any other national teams when other international openings come about?

"At first, I wasn't. Lately, the thought has been hitting me a little more. I think it will be good for me to sit this World Cup out, enjoy it as an observer, and see where that takes me. I'm 63, so I could see taking a shot with someone else for a couple cycles, at least, especially in the type of role where they are looking for an experienced manager to build up a program instead of looking for a position with an established program. If I were to make a move, that is the way that I want to do it, but I have not formally put my name out there as a candidate yet until I am completely sure that I want to take that route."

Brittany also told me that she still keeps in contact with several players, as their friend, but has not talked to Chen Huikang all that much, because it would be best for her to let him get comfortable with the team. She would not disclose what the two had talked about, but said that tactics and personnel decisions were not a part of it. So, this moves us to Chen Huikang, the man who was let go by Yuezhou after doing a very good job with them, overall. After getting them to qualify for World Cup 93, his national association opted to kick him to the curb in favor of Nephara's Elaine Ashdown. We're not going to pretend to be experts in Yue soccer. They felt that move was best for them, and such is the direction that they have gone in. Hopefully, Ashdown will succeed there, but if there were any fans of Yue soccer that were upset about the dismissal of Chen, they certainly have noticed what their former manager has done with Cassadaigua in a very, very short time.

Chen was a perfect fit for this team right from the start. The first reason for this would be his preferred tactical style of attacking soccer. Right now, the best assets for the Fillies are in the offensive positions, with Lexi McGregor about to get a lot of attention as the 22-year old makes her first official regular World Cup campaign as a starter. 21-year old Shannon Cunningham is right alongside her, and there is youth in the midfield. In most games, Chen has been aggressive with this team, looking to push forward for the first goal of the match in a very assertive manner. Whether or not that continues here, we don't know, but it would be a surprise if that did not continue. Another thing about Chen that CASE liked was his previous coaching tenure, domestically, with CSKA Quebec. There has been a lot of movement between Quebec and Cassadaigua in terms of players going to the other league, and of the current roster, there are four players that play professionally in Quebec (two being starters). Then, his resume with Yuezhou, and getting the team to qualify for the last World Cup and general record of success there over time made the decision pretty easy. It has definitely worked out, as of the three competitions that Chen has coached for us, he won the Copa Rushmori, won the RTC Cup, and lost in the final of the Eagle's Cup. While some jokingly said that maybe he will end up winning a Cup here too, the Cup of Harmony, it certainly is a lot of positive momentum heading into this. Jessica Tolson managed the Di Bradini Cup team, so we are not forgetting that one.

Chen has been asked a few times if he has a chip on his shoulder about being removed from the top post in Yuezhou, but he has continually refuted any attempts to get him to say yes. "When I came here, it was about getting a program that I observed from a distance back into the World Cup. You don't get a chance to make this kind of lateral movement very often, and that is the only thing that I am thinking about. I am grateful to have had the chance to manage my homeland's team for as long as I was able, but I am not looking to prove they made a wrong decision. I want them, instead, to be looking at what I do here, and hopefully be proud of it, and I hope that Elaine (Ashdown) does a great job out there".

The roster that he has decided upon is similar to what he took to the Copa Rushmori, which was not a massive overhaul from the World Cup 93 team. But it is different, mainly with players in different roles, and an overall younger lineup. There are only two starters that are 30 or over, with goalkeeper Stacie Thornton being right at 30 years of age, so that is not something that would be a concern. The other is midfielder Krystal Sherwin, who at 31 is coming off a great Eagles Cup. Most feel that Krystal is perfectly fine because her game has never been built around speed in the first place. Kaitlin Millikan, who always seemed to be in the doghouse of Brittany Byers for some reason, is a notable change, and Lauren Engle get her chance to play. However, most Cassadagans will be looking closely at Lexi McGregor.

Lexi had a massive Copa Rushmori, and was considered our MVP for the tournament and she started off hot in the Eagle's Cup, before failing to score in the knockouts (despite the team making the final). Every score in the knockouts, as well as the final group stage match (which she also did not score in), was a 1-0 result, two wins and two losses. Lexi played well in the matches, but it is her longest international scoreless streak. Anyone who has watched her knows that there are some things you may worry about and others you don't. Lexi coming into this game without a goal in her last four Eagle Cup games is something you don't.

As good as this sounds, the facts of the group are daunting. Cassadaigua is a high pot 3 team, but a pot 3 team nonetheless. They will have to deal with both Nephara and Milchama in this group, and there will be no difficulty getting up for those games. But there's more as both Adab and Astograth, two teams capable of qualifying as well, are in the group, then you have to dodge all of the upstarts. It's a chore, but with the early results of Chen Huikang, it's hard to not be optimistic. At least for the moment.

On the Winds of Change

The start of the upcoming World Cup Qualification Campaign will begin in earnest in a few short weeks, as teams across the world and even the multiverse prepare themselves for the rigors of an intense and prolonged campaign where they will hopefully be among those who have managed to find themselves to either qualify directly for the Finals or for the playoffs to determine the last entrants into the event. Several of the key members of the national team of the last decade have been either dropped from the national team altogether or have lost their starting spots to other members of the squad. Be it through age or playing time, there has been a bit of a reshuffling of the team, which is not to be a huge surprise after the team entered into the Finals of the last tournament thinking that they had found their best opportunity to capture the elusive sixth World Cup title only to suffer one of the worst embarrassments in their Finals history and failing to progress out of the group stage despite having come into the event ranked as the best side in the World. It was a slap in the face for a team and manager who had seemingly had everything coming up gold before that event.

Of the biggest note is the dropping of stalwarts Lothas Ludwig and Indra Söderström, who last season with their domestic clubs in Nephara both found themselves dropped from the first team. The Marauders are too highly competitive of a national team to not have their starters starting at their domestic clubs, with a few notable exceptions, and they will at least start the campaign from coming off the bench rather than part of the first eleven. Both are skilled enough and driven enough to likely find themselves in the starting eleven again shortly, but the Euran in charge of the team needs be fair and consistent with everyone and even make to proverbial stars of the team have to earn their way back into their starting positions. There are even a few people who have said that the lack of domestic starts for the Nephara based players make have been a contributing factor in the Marauders inability to at least make the knockout rounds of the previous World Cup and the quarterfinal exit that the team suffered in the AOCAF. The VSC concentrating on the domestic game and the prolonged process of renovating a majority of the grounds across the Empire also saw the team miss out on an appearance in the Eagles' Cup, which has been typically used to evaluate the depth of the NT heading into a qualifying campaign.

There are a few changes to the projected starting lineup and the biggest question mark of them all will be Maximilian Edvardsen, who takes up the mantle of the holding midfield role that Riemann had been holding down for near on a decade. Playing in Tikariot projects a certain lower standard of competition than a few of his peers competing for the position but he's a natural destroyer which is a rare trait among Vanorians and has played well in Rushmore despite those from the Empire tending to prefer more attacking roles. Julia Holt has large boots to fill if she is going to properly slide in in place of Söderström, yet she has managed to find her way in Eura and with her ability to find the channels is quite the asset. Hadi Lundström has had a tidy career in Raynor City and finally has blossomed over the last three seasons and has made herself a part of the national team as a result, having played key roles in the team the last two cycles. The biggest question for her, can she handle the pressure that comes with being the player that the team is now focusing their efforts on getting opportunities for or will the stage prove too large? Change is never easy and this is a team in flux, yet talent is there, will the drive to get back among the elite be there and carry them onward or will the transitional period prove a bridge too far?

“Et voilà, ma chérie!”

Few people dared to call Annette Dalving ‘ma chérie’ and according to the rumors, even her legal husband was only allowed to use an endearing ‘misses head of state’ outside of the governmental bed. But Jean-Jacques Médiard never let his path be blocked by decorum and so far, the abstract artist had gotten away with it. While the two bodyguards walking behind Dalving gave one another a painstaking look, the prime chancellor herself seemed fully immersed in the discourse of Médiard. Every step of the way which the convoy (Médiard, Dalving, the bodyguards, some lesser officials, the press, the police watching over the press, the security staff overlooking the police watching over the press, …) took was guided with a few enthused gestures by Médiard, who told a humorous anecdote, underlined the importance of or pointed out a detail about what he considered to be his masterwork.

Critics might claim that it was not too hard for the man to make such a thing, as a certain part of the inner circles of Capnordic art considered Médiard to be a scam. He had made his name with so-called found art, an often conceptual subgenre that ‘Jay-Jay’ (as he signed his pieces) quite often took to the extreme. One time, he had vigorously claimed at an exhibition that his contribution was the gallery itself, putting his autograph on the outside wall. Even if his inherent value as a ‘shock rocker’ stood under pressure, he had earned himself quite a lot of fans in the wider audience due to his presence in television panel shows. The contrast between his appearance of a caring, slightly alternative grandfather and the dirtmouth remarks made him quite a hoot: just showing his characteristic bonnet immediately associated the country with Médiard.

And so, as Dalving required an artistic face for her newest vanity project, she hooked up the controversial but popular Médiard. The latter, contrary to a majority of the rather left-leaning artistic sides, had always been disinterested in politics and for the right sum, he could be hired by any democracy or autocracy with more money than good sense. Because indeed, Médiard was quite a lot but definitely not an architect. And still, he would be designing the pavilions for the prestigious, upcoming Esportivan Cultural Festival. For this, he had been given carte blanche and the keys to the once sleepy fishermen’s town of Codazur. In times of yore, the place had been a few ramshackle huts but when two railroad lines happened to cross there, it had become a jetset holiday resort. The mercantile nature of the locals, who only sold their grounds to hotel chains with enough stars slapped on the front, did the rest to make sure that the luxury, the sandy beaches and (for Capnordic terms) mild and sunny climate would not be wasted on the plebs or working men. With the hereditary high-income classes either leaving the country or losing their capital, it had had to remodel in the last two decades, aiming for the new rich. A segment that ensured the revenue stream but who did not always associate with the class that came to the name Codazur. And so, the city appreciated a new, more glamorous, wind and how could Annette Dalving deny the place that was, after all, her favorite holiday destination as a kid?

“So, chérie, after all the unexciting logistics, you see here before you the Village Esportiviènne!”

As they crossed the charming path through the small dunes, a number of peculiar-looking buildings stood before them. Each was painted in a specific pastel color, giving the coastal background a romantic, nostalgic vibe. The buildings were fairly large without being gigantic and even if there were some architectural differences, they did share one notable feature. On top of each of them stood a tall, almost comical needle that pierced the clear blue sky. Médiard of course noticed the baffled looks of the bystanders.

“These are indeed the marvelous, unique houses of the arts. The maison d’arts. Or as we will call them here, the Maison DArts.”

If Dalving was reconsidering giving a nearly endless budget to someone who based his entire concept around this particular groanworthy pun, she did not really show it. Rather she nodded in confirmation, as if it was a master plan coming together in a wood of spikes.

“Each of these twenty-two houses gives room for our neighbors and friends across the region to demonstrate their best, most characteristic, most thrilling artists in their field of expertise. Together, they will form a perfect blend, a rich tapestry woven around what unites us all: the desire to express ourselves.”

With a bit of imagination, one could see two semi-circles in the buildings, with the dunes developing behind them while encircling a large beach. It was hard to miss the centerpiece in the sand, so Dalving wondered aloud.

“What will the large screen on the beach be used for?”
“Amazing exhibits, conceptual artists, assisting indicators to the thousands of visitors and live connections to all corners of the region… And maybe a few football games from the Whalers if they recover from that loss against Sylestone.”

No, Dalving was not second-guessing the cheekily grinning Médiard. With enthusiasm, she clapped her hands, forcing those in the rows behind her to join it into what was effectively a standing ovation. As it was done, one of the lesser officials in the background tried to step forward. The fool still stood by the belief that a clever question would lift him further up the ranks then quietly falling in line and tried to bring his inquiry with much aplomb.

“Considering the size of the Festival, have we already foreseen in…”
“But my good friend, do not worry. I have thought of everything of importance: good weather and good company. And for the details, we have given the freedom of expression to the various Esportivan delegations - there even is room for some non-Esportivans who want to share this celebration!”

Caught out, our futurely-fired official tried once more.

“Yeah, but what about…”
“You whine too much! Médiard never worries and see what a majestic palace for the Festival came from it! Speaking of wine, ma chérie Annette, can I interest you in a cool glass of merlot noir which will suit your dress impeccably? The first Maison D’art, which will house the organizational side of the Festival, has been opened and has a splendid bar.”

Esportivan Cultural Festival
Numbering of the ‘Maison D’arts’ according to their specific field

MD1 Organization
MD2-3 Mainstream music: bringing the region together
MD4-5 Regional music: recognizing your own voice in the Esportivan choir
MD6-7 Movie theater: when fiction becomes the theatre of dreams
MD8-9 Documentaries: visual storytelling for the wider audience
MD10-11 Literature: the might of the pen in uniting the region
MD12-13 Architecture: building the story of the nation in bricks
MD14-15 Dance: dance, revolution
MD16-17 Sculpture: putting the art in three dimensions
MD18-19 Painting & Photography: two dimensions is just enough to blow your mind
MD20-21 Gastronomy: because you at least should not go home hungry
MD22 Wild card: whatever peculiar stuff people have extremely strong opinions on in your country

The life of a bodyguard is not all rainbows and sunshine. As Médiard, Dalving and the esteemed guests were doing an excellent attempt to finish off the wine ahead of the start of the festival, Erik Mellsner had the most annoying shift of all, keeping an eye on the dunes to the south. As there was no proper path in that direction, there was no traffic to be expected, so Mellsner was preparing himself for four hours of staring at unmoving sand. Needless to say that a disgruntled local popping up was almost welcomed rather than considered a nuisance. Years of training had set Erik up for a ‘hit first, ask questions later’ policy but as soon as he had pinned down the poor bugger, he did allow him to speak.

“That’s my house,” the local decried, pointing to one of the needlestick buildings.
“You must be mistaken,” Erik explained, “this is one of the pavilions for the Esportivan Culture Festival.”
“What? No, that…”

Things apparently fell into place for the local, from whose comments we drop the continuous cursing, if only for legibility.

“That … mother… of a … Médiard. These are the last few of the traditional hangar-houses, with a living part in the front and a large hangar in the back to store the wares of the fishers. That … told us he wanted to give us all a nice holiday away, offered a few weeks all in abroad and now we come back and he just took over our homes!”
“Well, you’re a master in found art or you’re not.” Erik mused.
“Oh my god, the needles! We’ll never get those off again! I’m going to the government over this!”

Erik attempted to calm down the man and was notably successful.

“Be aware that the whole inner circle of the NUP, including chancellor Dalving, is drinking up a yearly ration of merlot noir over there so…”

The man looked defeated.

“So I better book a hotel for… How long is this Festival?”
“Shorter than you fear, longer than you hoped.”
“Oh. If only the hotels were not that expensive over here…”

Opening as favorites- Nyowani Kitara enter Qualifying with a new perspective, which is pressure

DEWAYO, NYOWANI KITARA- Nyowani Kitara has a national team that is incredibly talented, and that has certainly found its footing in world football. Ranked 10th in the KPBs, we are entering a World Cup Qualifying cycle, for the first time, with a different sort of expectations- not only expectations for Qualifying, but expectations to do damage at the World Cup itself. Of course, we've been to the last three World Cups, and we want to make it four- there is no surprise there. But, with our ranking, and our recent successful CR semifinal run on home soil, there is a lot of firm belief that we could truly do something spectacular at World Cup 94.

But first, to do something spectacular at a World Cup- we have to qualify for the World Cup. And that is easier said, than done..

Let's take a stroll down memory lane, to World Cup 93 Qualifying. We were favorites in that group as well- first time in Pot 1 of a World Cup Qualifying group. But then, we got a hard reality check- other countries are more than happy to take us down. And our rise isn't simply going to be unopposed- you get better, you get better opponents, you got shots from better opponents. Juvencus shocked many by coming from Pot 3 and winning the Qualification group outright, by quite a bit- with 57 points, 8 points clear of us, who were in second place. (Of course, Juvencus is in our group once again).

We had to go through via the playoff, where we won 5-4 on aggregate, over two legs, against Baggieland- after a wild, 4-4 away draw in Baggieland, a simple 1-0 win in Dewayo put us through to World Cup 94. But we don't want to go through that again. "Look, what matters is getting to the World Cup, by any means necessary." Liang Wei told reporters. "But we're good enough to avoid the playoffs. We're a top 10 nation in this sport, damnit- I want us to play like it. I want nations to have that fear." And look- once we get to tournaments, we do well. Semifinals at the last Copa Rushmori. Last two World Cups we've gotten to the KOs both times- eliminated by the eventual champs in one, and the hosts & FInalists in the other.

But let's take a preview...

Most interesting opponents- Brookstation & Juvencus

Saying the two highest ranked opponents in the group are the most interesting is not exactly the boldest take we've ever had. But it is true- both for the obvious (Pots 1, 2 , and 3 in a system where the top 3 finishers move on) and, more importantly, the history. Let's start with Brookstation. World Cup 91 Qualifying- our third attempt to get to this tournament. We battle our way through a tough group, make the playoffs. Who are our opponents? Brookstation- who also happen to be our northern neighbors. Of course, we know how that story turns out- we qualify for our first ever World Cup.

Wouldn't Brookstation love to extract vengeance on us for that? Neighbors, with high stakes qualifying history- it's a real rivalry, Brookstation v. Nyowani Kitara. It's a fun matchup, helped by the geography. Easy for NYK fans to go to the away leg, and vice versa. Those matchups will not only be important for the table- but they will be some of the most fun matchups for both teams.

And then, of course, we get the rematch from last time- Juvenucs v. Nyowani Kitara. Juvencus, as we already said, sprinted past us, winning the group by a hell of a lot, and taking the sole automatic qualification slot. We had to fight through the playoffs- we did so successfully, of course. But Juvencus, unequivocally, were the better team last time. "Look, we have a sour taste in our mouths from World Cup 93." Said team veteran, Wang Jiahui. "They were the better team, from beginning to end, in every fashion. We need to fix that. We've got another chance- we're going to go out and this time, win this qualification group outright. Screw the playoffs."

"Juvencus smacked us around last cycle." Said the team's newly minted captain, Odede Angonga. "We've absolutely got to show them who's boss. We have to show that we are capable of beating them. An excellent team they are, but if you want to be the best, you have to beat the best- and they are absolutely part of the best." For fans and players both, this will be a fun renewal of the series.

One last hurrah for the current generation

For a lot of the first generation of NYK national team players, they are reaching their absolute peak. Former Testiculo Armoni Okombo already retired after World Cup 93, to focus on his club career. But that generation of players, who brought us from the doldrums to our first ever World Cup, are going to be set to be retiring. Odede Angonga. Owino Odede. Wang Jiahui. Oduor Bigombe. Olaf Svante. All long-time starters, all 34 and over, all probably playing in their final World Cup cycle.

"Some say that we were simply blessed with a golden generation at the right time." Said a media anaylst. "But I think there is a groundswell of talent. As the next generation of players come up, those who were children during the civil war, the NT will surely look different. But make no mistake about it- this team is here to stay." Regardless of what the future holds, many of these older players have one final chance to shore up their legacy. And what a legacy they have. Bringing NYK from being a war-torn nation, from the death throws of civil war to the top 10 of the KPBs. Semifinal appearances in both the Copa Rushmori and World Cup. Back to back knockout stage appearances in the World Cup Finals.

One final chapter for this generation. What will be written in it?
English pronunciation- "New Chee-tar-ah"

Boot It!: Time To Roll Out Once More!

Postby TJUN-ia » Mon Jun 26, 2023 2:05 pm

Stadiums
Pot 1 Stadium: National Stadium
Location: TJUN-ia City, JB TJUN-ia
Capacity: 74,000
Image

The hallowed halls of TJUN-ian football have always tried to be a fortress for the Blue and Orange, but it was only recently that this revered place became that way. The National Stadium in TJUN-ia City was built to accommodate as many outdoor sporting events as possible and while the football layout can be a bit shallow at times, that doesn't stop 74,000 spectators from repping their WC Team with pride. They are quite welcoming to any and all opposition who play here until foul play emerges in one way or another. This place is the main stadium for both the JagBase and TJUN-ia and while the past certainly isn't favourable towards this place, it is becoming more and more revered as the team becomes more and more confident in this part of the world.

Pot 3 Stadium: Beregozera Stadium
Location: Szensky, CSTO Zone
Capacity: 81,000
Image

The largest stadium in use for football for many WCs, "The Lakeside" Stadium is mostly known for Krasnaya Stena, an ultra-like group of supporters who take the game very seriously and who try their best to make the main stadium of the CSTO the hardest place to play in all of TJUN-ia. The national team failed to perform to their expectations when this circus finally came to Szensky during WC85, but better tournaments since have seen a change in opinion from KS, who certainly want their turf to be the fortress of the Jags no matter the opposition. To anyone who must play us in this 81,000-capacity dome of noise, I can only give you one piece of advice: Удачи тебе (Udachi tebe). Good luck to you.

Pot 4 Stadium: Stade de la Victoire
Location: Roi Ville, NAU Zone
Capacity: 81,000
Image

As you would expect, football is very big over in the NAU Zone and there were countless available options for who would host the NAU's game. But, the FA-TJUN-ia opted for Stade de la Victoire in Roi Ville for two key factors - its size and its fans. It's not the main stadium of the region, certainly not, but this place is certainly big enough and 81,000 is certainly a good marker for this team (tied with Beregozera for capacity). But the fans here in Roi Ville have been known to BRING IT when the time comes and when the time comes, they will be ready.

Pot 5 Stadium: Estadio Universidad Carlandas
Location: Carlandas, UAC Zone
Capacity: 69,000

Located on the campus of UNCA, a university more familiar to those in the NSCAA, EUC is not the main stadium of the UAC Zone, but it certainly fits the bill of a TJUN-ian host. 69,000 is certainly big enough despite being an old stadium, but that history means a different feel once the game day arrives. Fans in these parts are also well known for their passion and dedication to the game, so this old stadium will certainly be rocking when the time comes to welcome the Jags.

Pot 6 Stadium: Tiankong Stadium
Location: Tiankong, CEA Zone
Capacity: 57,000
Image

Built for the CEA Games and nicknamed by many as "the People's Stadium", Tiankong Stadium has seen a lot of wins for the national team on home soil since it debuted. In fact, this is so obvious that many in the CEA capital like to troll their JB or CSTO friends with jokes about how good this team is whenever they play in front of the smallest crowd out of the original three. 57,000 may not sound like a lot, but the people of Tiankong certainly make up for it all with just how loud they can be and with the team playing great whenever they come here, who knows if this magic can ever run out?!

Pot 7 Stadium: Ke Kahua Pāʻani o Pua Aloalo
Location: Kepu Manu, UO Zone
Capacity: 50,000
Image

The next seven stadiums were all chosen in a random order in terms of who gets to host who, and up first is what is known as Pua Aloalo Stadium in English but shall be referred to by its Hawaiian name - Ke Kahua Pāʻani o Pua Aloalo (or KKPPA). KKPPA is the principal stadium of the UO and of the Manufano Islands and it can change its configuration with ease to accommodate multiple sports. In terms of football, this place can get a bit rowdy at times as both locals and tourists from other parts of the country come out to watch but if you love that sort of thing, then KKPPA is for you.

Pot 8 Stadium: Estádio do Pacífico
Location: Rio Pacífico, UAS Zone
Capacity: 47,000
Image

The Estádio do Pacífico is the principal stadium here in the UAS Zone, which certainly explains the Latin flair many will feel when they turn up for a game. While yes, it does have an athletics track and it may feel a bit bare, it has hosted football games quite comfortably and you certainly will expect the fans to bring the atmosphere come game time. Football is almost considered a religion in many parts of the UAS, so the long wait for the Jags to come here won't have a negative effect at all...

Pot 9 Stadium: Zebra Stadium
Location: Toropo/Almadinat, AU Zone
Capacity: 41,000
Image

It may be small and it may not be the main stadium of the AU Zone, but Zebra Stadium is still a cracking venue and one that certainly will be happy to host WC Football. This stadium was built for sports like football and rugby, so it's much closer to the pitch for the fans who come here. And remember, this is the AU - where fan culture is certainly very vibrant - so while it may be small, the crowd factor is certainly going to help this venue feel bigger than it is.

Pot 10 Stadium: Tallawah Stadium
Location: Port Town/Portuaria, CU Zone
Capacity: 35,000
Image

One of the many stadiums in the CU Zone that doesn't specialise in Cricket, Tallawah Stadium is a modestly-sized arena that will certainly befit hosting games for CU. Sure, it certainly isn't the biggest stadium in the region, but it certainly works for football and that's good enough for the FA. Fans here in the CU love to bring the party no matter what and so, expect the crowd to bring the flavour of the region to the contest here.

Pot 11 Stadium: Salam Liljamie Stadium
Location: Al Kalifa, ArU Zone
Capacity: 26,000
Image

The smallest stadium out of the 10 in use, Salam Liljamie means "Peace For All" in Arabic and that will sum up the mood here in the ArU when it hosts the first game of the campaign. Many might expect the atmosphere here in Al Kalifa to be less passionate, as the ArU is a more conservative area than most others in TJUN-ia, but that won't be the case. Football is just as big here as anywhere else and the passion these fans can bring can certainly be a surprise to those not in the know.

After Esportivan Derby Series,Natanians and Nosts goes confidently for the first match of World Cup Qualifiers

Although the results were not necessarily great, the progression of them, paired with the opponents, managed to make the national squad get a feeling of confidence for the upcoming debut on this year's WCQ.The first match of the series was a tie with a motivated Esportivan Darmen, whose keeper made three great deffences to stop Sheldon Ubuntu. The second match was a narrow victory over Dod Rava, with a fundamental performance of Daniel Whitcliffe, who blocked many shots, and was the originator of the play that resulted in John Mihai García's goal. The last match was the only home match and was a really tough victory over Sylestone, with two nullified goals for Sylestone and one for Natanians and Nosts, the winning goal was socred by Sheldon Ubuntu,on the very last minute.
After the three matches, and the win over Sylestone,Natanians and Nosts goes into the World Cup Qualifiers confident, even if with a sense that something needs to be done. The 23 men called by Joahnn C. Mureșan-Antonescu for the whole of the qulifiers will face Rincurd, who will visit Natanians and Nosts for the first matchday.

A Long Battle to Win

About a month ago, Provincial Parliament of Ketampi passed a bill of recommendation for the Palidas Government to held a local referendum for Ketampi or Ocidental Province. The referendum would determine the future of the westernmost province of Acastanha whether it would stay as a province under Palidas Republic or to become the third republic within Acastanha. This issue have long been debated within Palidas Parliament. But the Parliament always blocked the possibility of Ketampi Referendum. And this time, it is no difference. After the recommendation bill was reviewed by the Palidas Parliament, a majority of the voices were rejection. The voices mostly came from PLDP and Avante Palidas MPs. Both parties are opposing the idea of Ketampi secession from Palidas. They have long been trying to suppress the issue. But it seems that their effort failed as the province keeps continue to ask for a referendum. This bill was the sixth of similar bill where when it passed will make Palidas Government obliged to held a referendum in Ketampi. Something that both PLDP and Avante Palidas don't want to do. And as Palidas Parliament is in majority hold by PLDP then the possibility of this kind of bill to passed is very minimal.

"I thought they will be mature enough this time. It is one thing that we continue to fight over and over again. But with the rejection, we go back to starting point," comment Abdul Gani, Governor of Ketampi/Ocidental Province.

Riots and demonstrations were happening in the province after the rejection of the bill was announced by Palidas Parliament. The province's capital, Bandar Ketam and its largest town, Praia do Emerita were the two place where the demonstration concentrate. Abdul Gani made a speech to calm down the masses which fortunately took effect. After 3 days of demonstration, the protestors end their action. However, they shift their protest into online media. The official website of Palidas Parliament and Government were hacked and it went offline for a week. President of Palidas Republic, Fabiano Alsavio made his statement that this cyberattacks must be stop or the government will took further action. Elsewhere, President Miranda Garbuno finally interfere after Alsavio comment. She asked everyone to calm down and solved this problem in a civilized way. She urge both parties to talks the issue out. On the other hand, Conselho Popular opposition leader, Leandro Rato stated that he could bring the issue into the Lower House if Palidas Parliament can't resolved it. He said that the Parliament's action is baseless and outright unacceptable. "We can't take away their rights to self-determine. They are the minority in our country. Their voice should be heard more." he added.

As the days passes, no action was made by Palidas Parliament. The bill was shelved and not being mention anymore. The recommendation from President Garbuno to open the discussion with Ketampi leaders is also not held. "We will waiting for the next possible time to submit another referendum proposal. This have been an annual agenda for us," said Renata Kalbar, speaker of Ketampi Provincial Parliament. On the other hand, as the year of 2024 is approaching, the State Election is on its way. Ketampi Bersatu Party leader, Salahuddin Saleh said that he will focus on gaining more seat in Palidas Parliament. "I think that is the only way," he says. The State Election is an election to select the Parliament members of both republics and all 10 provinces including the Região da Capital. The election will also elect the President of the Republics and the provincial governors.

Nationals gear up for WC

(TCCPA) Geneva City--The Captina Company National Team will begin its second qualification for the World Cup in a far different state than the previous campaign ended.

The Rosso e Oro are tentatively moving towards a mixed-sex squad with a new coach and very different style of play that will need adapting to; the friendly against Baker Park was the debut of the “new look” team which showed promise despite the 4-2 defeat at TCC Sports Park.

The schedule does no favors for the side right off the bat as CAFA Cup Champions Krytenia will be the first opponent followed by a trip to Indusse, which drew with the TCCWNT in the final match of the Tea Cup so this will be a good measuring stick to see how much the early progress is shaping up.

9th seeded Dod Rava and 6th seeds The Gothinta Isles will be the opposition before a matchday 5 bye ahead of a gauntlet of the top three seeds, The Prosaic Union also known as Gneis, 2nd seeded Cabo Azure and top seeds Squornshelan Remnant States, the AOCAF Cup winner. The back-end of the fixture list will pit Captina against 7th seeded Bears Armed followed by two newcomers from the Baptism of Fire, Imperatorskly Rossiya and Bareder to close out the first half.

In WCQ 92, 20 of the 25 points earned came against just 4 opponents and the target for this tournament is to surpass that total. To do that will require more than the 16 goals scored through 20 matches the previous squad managed.

Unlike the last qualifying, all home matches will take place in Geneva City as TCCFA look to bring in more revenue from NT fixtures.

Squad vs Krytenia:
4-3-3
1 Rossi; 3 Owenby, 4 Coverdale, 5 A. Vastano, 2 Coppola; 7 Morningstar, 18 Riviello, 8 Valentini; 11 Villa, 10 Wedgewood, 9 Mercardi
subs--24 Recchio, 14 Nightshade, 15 Caruso, 16 Colucci, 6 DiCanio, 12 Rizzuto, 17 Tardelli, 19 Lillywhite, 20 Overstreet, 21 Negroni, 22 Fontana

DBC U21 Wraps Up
Abanhfleft 2–1 Archalit

The Di Bradini Cup run of the U21 Archalitian football team has ended. A cold display of strength by Abanhfleft ended their hopes for a run emulating what the senior team crafted in the BoF 80. What made it worse was the hour of waiting it took to finally get some action, as the game accelerated dramatically after the whistle.

Really, nothing much happened in the opening half. There were some opportunities, and Abanhfleft was certainly pushing, but the defense pulled through and we were making moves of our own as the timer ticked. A few close calls flew by, like Francis Hubalde kicking barely outside the post and Barawy Munir saving a ball from Minato Gee, but nothing that made you jump out in shock. In the words of the Gaelic Gamers, "it was more of an 'Ooh, that was close,' thing instead." So, the half-time whistle blew and the score rested at 0-0.

Until the hour mark, nothing really happened. However, just then, something spectacular happened for the team. So, basically, the Archalitian Seamen were passing the ball around and maintaining possession, as they do, and not really building any offensive pressure or making any attacks. At least, that's what most of the Abanhfleft crowd thought, including their goalkeeper, as Minato Gee, without any particular speed or explosiveness, basically passed the ball to the net. Now, Barawy Munir hadn't actually noticed this happen, as most of the audience thought this was just a cross and they were continuing to pass the ball back-and-forth. So you've gotta imagine the shock and the shouting when the ball suddenly hit the back of the net. Somehow, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the score was 1-0 in Archalit's favour.

Now, this wasn't particularly surprising for Archalit, but this certainly got the nerves going in some players and especially the manager Missy Davies who was pushing hard for an Archalitian victory in this match. This was surprising, in fact, for Abanhfleft, as this was the first time in the tournament that they were behind their opponent. Now they were the ones who had pressure, since they had half an hour to equalize and hopefully stretch an advantage to win the game.

With nerves of steel, they managed to pull it off. When Michael Matos came on from the bench, his determination to play showed, as he synced into their team's playing perfectly. When a cross came to him from Franklin Bucaneg, Michael went in and scored the equalizer right past Jorden Telikinaki's outstretched hand. Suddenly, the teams had eleven minutes to stretch the goal, and it was not Archalit but Abanhfleft who made this realization sooner.

The Young Revs, or the Abanhfleft youth team, dramatically shifted their playstyle over this last stretch in an attempt to score. Many more shots on goal were made in an effort to emulate what Minato Gee had done—score a low percentage shot by and hit the back of the net. They were going hard on the pressure, until Archalit finally folded as the Young Revs won a corner kick and a shot to score the winning goal. After the ball came into play, it was suddenly a scramble to get a touch, and neither team was quite gaining control until one Ramon Mcclean of Abanhfleft slammed the ball into the back of the net. That was it, Archalit's run was over, as are the U21's season finished. Now, we look to the World Cup for a new chance for a medal.

It's World Cup 94 Time
Fat chance of that though. Do you know who's in our group? Firstly, the ranked 6th, Valanora, and 19th, the Independent Athletes from Quebec, are obvious choices for top two. Lovely, we're stuck hoping for a third-place showing and a chance to make the World Cup. But the competition we have to make it that far is stacked to the brim. Aeragny, who also competed in BoF 80, will be back for some revenge matches after we took their spot in the final. Furthermore, we have Legalese, Ranoria, Greektopia, and a multitude of other teams ready to compete as hard as they possibly can for a chance to qualify for the World Cup. Who first in the tournament? Matchday 1 promises Archalit (who, by the way, is ranked #101) vs the rank-47 Eraman.

With many teams scrambling to put together their roster and publicize it for the start of the tournament, the exact roster that Eraman, as well as many others in our group, will bring to the qualifiers is somewhat up in the air. What we know for certain is that we won't have a single free win in this entire qualifier, even against North-Khrakozia who really exemplify the "nation no one has heard of." With an undoubtedly powerful field, it will take an absolute masterclass of a performance to actually qualify for the World Cup this season.

But hey, it's not all over. Many in the international community have actually had Archalit on their radar as a potential qualifier after last season. Despite the team having an admittedly subpar performance with a 7th place finish in a 12-nation group, our standings and skill-building programs since then have put us on the map. The interesting thing will be seeing our senior team in the first place as the last time they showed up, it was for a dreadful IC-18 showing that left us not only on a losing streak, but goalless at that.

So, we are out of momentum and we are still on a losing streak. Let's break that thing ASAP and go win our group to qualify for the World Cup!

The Politics Behind the Rift
continued from my WBC RPs, most directly and importantly this most recent one.

"Well, thank you for enlightening me on the science..." Prime Minister Labbett told the king as they left the University.
"Hey, my pleasure. I always love talking science with those who are willing to listen..."

"Now you know, if science is your side passion, my one true passion was always politics... well that and trampoline dodgeball. But mainly the first thing. And hoo boy is there a lot of politics with this rift, and I need to make sure the both of us are on the same page about things..."
"Of course! I have plenty of time to talk, and this is shaping up to be a wonderful evening... so how about we take a walk through Center City Park and we can chat about the political side?"

As the two walked through the park's entrance gate, Kevin began to mention some of the... complications... that would come with a regional move.

"I know you like to just do things--"
"Yep."
"--and hey, so do I! After all no need to apologize to the people when what you're doing works out in the end. BUT with something as dangerous and major as rifting to a new region? There are going to be a hell of a lot of questions and we're gonna need to be able to answer them for the people."

"Didn't you already campaign on the idea of a rift?"

"I alluded to it, sure, and I didn't rule it out, but my election was by no means a referendum on a rift. Those are gonna have to be two separate things... ESPECIALLY with how dangerous you've told me rifting can be."

"True... it's not exactly 'hey here we are in our new home isn't it so nice!'"

"Yeah, exactly. There are a ton of risks going into this and the people do need to know what they are... but they also need us to tell them that we're working on it and it'll all be for the best."

"Have you even figured out where you wanna rift to?"
"Yes, after all my diplomatic regions, I think I've found the place. Nothing is final but I'm very happy with where I have planned for us."
"So now we just have to market this to the people and get them on-board..."
"And work out your science."
"Of course of course... but for now, let's talk about getting a referendum going. What day did you have in mind to hold it?"
"Maybe in mid-summer? That would have everyone in a good mood..."
Anything I say is IC unless proven otherwise by a court of law.

Camping with BPNT
by Fiona Devlin, National Soccer Writer
for The Times
Reporting from Belle Haven--

A great amount of speculation has surrounded discussions about what the Commonwealth National Team will look like when they emerge from the tunnel ahead of the opening match of World Cup 94 Qualifying.
It is difficult to draw conclusions from the performances of the off year tournament squads that competed in the Jenna Raven/Women's World Cup on home soil and the AOCAF 69 in Tropicorp, where the approaches taken by Jamestown City Ladies boss Kelly Bradbury (JRC/WWC) and FAC Sporting Director Liam Sullivan (AO Cup) didn't provide obvious translatable information to how Will Barnard and Zoe Montgomery will organize their first NT experience in charge; Montgomery's lab experiment management during the Eagles Cup also obscures the thought process behind how the BPNT will look in its finished form once the rubber meets the road.

I suggested a proposal to Barnard, Montgomery, Executive Director Steven Fleming and General Secretary Allison LeFleur to be permitted access to the day to day workings at Birkenfeld over four days during the training camp ahead of the first series of friendlies scheduled against Captina Island, The Jovannic and Koronavia and to my shock I received a personal invitation from Will Barnard himself to spend a week with the squad and staff.

“You're always welcome here Fiona. Do you want to stay in (have a room at the Training Center) or not?” A discussion with my bosses here at The Times allowed me to accept the offer although the paper insisted on reimbursing the FAC, which was a negotiation between the finance departments of both organizations.

I checked in on Wednesday afternoon along with the players that would be taking part in the camp, so there were a lot of friendly hellos and greetings from everyone that also recognized I'd be a constant presence over the following five days.

Elaine King waved me over after I'd been in conversation for several minutes and gave me a hug—she was on her very first assignment as a youth team coach in Abanhfleft at SWC5, as was Chris LaRue so we have known each other for years—followed by a question. “Where's your case? I'll have it sent up to your room.”

There is a specific vocabulary when you are traveling with the National Team—a suitcase considered checked baggage is always a “case” while carry-on items are always a “bag”. It simplifies distinctions in how luggage is sorted and handled.

Everything at Birkenfeld is biometric now, as players are identified in the check-in process by their fingerprint of the the index and middle finger of their right hand; any luggage they bring is tagged with a barcode and taken to the assigned room they've been given and they are given a passcard with the same barcode that they present at every stop along the way.
Then it's off to the first station of a series they will all go through—urinalysis.

For me, I'm taken through a quick tour of the medical “gauntlet” that follows and on to the “costume department” aka the kit room. Everyone takes a basket and moves down the line to collect all of the training shirts, shorts, socks, warmup suits, casual wear and other paraphernalia that will be used; I'm given a couple of coaching shirts and shorts, a warmup jacket, and a baseball cap all with my initials appliqued. The basket is collected from me by the same young man who has my suitcase to be delivered to my room.

I get the tour of the rest of the ground floor—the physio suite, the gym, the dining room, team meeting room and the indoor pool; then it's up to the second floor and shown into Barnard's office where the rest of the coaching staff are gathered.

I recall having been in this room before as it was Pam Scott's office when she was manager; there is a superstition that nobody occupies the same office space that their immediate predecessor used, and generally a later occupant will arrange the furniture in a completely different way from how it was situated before. I don't need introductions to anyone present—Barnard, Montgomery, King, LaRue and Danielle Harper, the former Under-18 boss now on the senior staff—so I'm invited to a seat on the couch next to Harper.

“Hello Fiona, we're just going through how the next couple of days are going to run.” The rest of Wednesday would be dinner, meeting and some video review, then free time until lights out; Thursday starts out with breakfast, then warmups, technical training followed by gym work, then lunch, another meeting and another session on the pitch with emphasis on tactical alignment and shape.

Evening is usually similar to the first night except for some squad entertainment options—a movie, games night where board games and no-stakes cards are the fare on offer; Pam Scott had a rule no card games were allowed in camp where there was money involved, although she did permit—and quite often collected on herself—money games on the training pitch although there were limits on wagers. Other games night activities pitted groups—men v women, positions (GK/MF v Forwards/Defenders, etc), geographic splits (East-West)--in trivia quizzes, blind tastings of food/beverages, occasional physical feats (there was a swimming relay one of the evenings I was there).

I wasn't just a passive observer during the time I spent with the squad as I assisted coaches during drills either collecting balls returned by players after performing their task, being part of what are called “assembly line” drills, where players negotiate a sort of gauntlet where they perform a number skills in succession, and being a teller by counting reps completed by particular players.

After dinner one night I was asked in the team meeting to talk about the experience at SWC 5 along with Chris and Elaine, how it was a real seminal moment in all of our careers; Gina Damicone, the Associate Chief Physio for the NT who was along for the ride joined us as we told stories about Tony Weiss and Jen Prescott, the almost oblivious attention we were paying to what was happening right in front of us.
My CPA award winning story required for me coming back from Abanhfleft and reading my notebook with a fresh viewpoint to really grasp the significance, and the others echoed what I felt. We were in agreement that living in that moment is something no one can take away from you, the flashes of memory you get well after the fact are reminders of a life well lived.

I've mentioned there are a lot of meetings, and often it's the entire squad but occasionally there are positional breakout sessions where keepers and defenders will cover defensive situations and the midfielders and forwards will cover other things—although there was one instance where all three groups went through defensive responsibilities separately and then a later gathering pieced it all together.

There is a lot of covering what will be involved in the upcoming training session, so that there is no time wasted on the pitch going through demonstrations or rehashing what's been discussed inside; everyone knows what they are supposed to be doing and how much time is involved in each segment of practice. These are professionals and they behave accordingly as anyone does when at work; I asked a few players about their thoughts on the structure of the camp and all of them stressed that at a club it would be a bit overbearing but on international duty it was a huge benefit because it allowed for more time on the pitch getting re-acquainted with teammates you don't play with very often, re-learning the nuances of where people are going to be, how they're going to react. There is of course fun involved, you see and hear a lot of laughing and joking, but it's never to the detriment of the drill or activity underway; everyone concentrates and puts in the effort because to slack off is to draw the ire of the most senior members in the squad.

Just as when the team travels to away matches, players are assigned two to a room, usually with the same person they share hotels rooms with; the senior squad stays on the second floor in the residential wing of the training center while the third floor is where the U-21's call home when in camp and the 4th floor is for U-18's and younger age groups involved in various 2-3 day camps. The difference can be seen in the size of the rooms themselves—the senior team rooms are almost like suites while the third floor is more like a typical hotel room (I stayed on the third floor with the other staff) and the top floor is more like a dorm in that there are four to a room and there are communal shower/restroom facilities.

It's all very much like a very nice resort hotel, where you don't have to think much about where anything comes from; like a army of invisible faeries, the staff have every detail covered—room is tidy and bed made up while you're gone and the mini-fridge is always full (juice, water, fruit, other snacks), your daily training outfit is clean and hung in your locker, boots clean, and everything meticulous. There are approximately 60 people who do all of the behind the scenes stuff—the kitchen staff, groundskeepers, equipment room assistants, the custodial and housekeeping crews, maintenance, security—many of whom are part timers who live in Birkenfeld and all of whom take a great deal of pride in their work. They are thrown a combined Appreciation/Christmas Party every December where the FAC employees and NT coaches and staff serve lunch and the honorees get their bonus; every player that earns a cap over the previous year has a one time deduction from their pay that goes towards helping finance the day and some players give extra out of their own pocket. There is also a custom of leaving a gratuity for the housekeepers on the last day which I'm told is pooled and divided evenly by the 8 women who operate so stealthily that I had to ambush one just to offer my thanks; many of the players say they have never met any of the housekeepers during their tenure on the NT, which I suppose is a testament to the speed at which they work.

I've covered teams continuously since Abanhfleft, but this was the first time since then that I was “embedded” with squad for a stretch of time and it definitely was a massive change in perspective; then I didn't spend much time at all through the meetings, we'd go along to training a couple of times but I didn't pay close attention to what was happening, so this was a like an entire education of what the real behind the scenes looks like. The squad and the coaches were really great to me the whole time, they gave me a ball they'd all signed and I got to keep my coaches shirts, so I guess that'll be another $150 the paper will want to pay back.

In conclusion I want to thank everyone for their cooperation, everyone who took time to speak to me off record in answering questions and once again to all the folks who keep everything running smoothly

95X World Cup 94 MD 0 RP

Postby 95X » Mon Jun 26, 2023 11:03 pm

An administrator is speaking to the 95X Defense Chairperson, Addi Halsey. Halsey, foreign-born in Scottfire with anime-red hair yet became a 95X citizen at a young age, graduated at the top of her class at the 95X Military Academy.

"Finally, we have deported the last of them!", the administrator said, while placing a file folder with enclosed documents on Halsey's desk.

Halsey sighed, "It is unfortunate that citizens of other countries think they can attend World Cup Qualifiers in 95X without regard to our laws. What part of 'no alcohol consumption' is difficult to understand?", she asked rhetorically of foreign visitor misbehavior during World Cup 93 Qualifiers.

Halsey looked at the documents and questioned the administrator, "we were unable to find the home countries of several of them? Where did we deport them to?"

"Wherever would take them!", the administrator replied. "Might have been Maxtopia, Testlandia, it isn't important; wherever they went they aren't our problem anymore!"

"Then please be gone," Halsey commanded. "I am preparing for an upper-level meeting on the next event that may bring many foreigners to 95X—" she turns some pages and her tone flattens, "—World Cup 94 Qualifiers."

"Do you still need me, your excellency?" the administrator re-asked.

"Yes," Halsey replied as she hastily tapped away on a smartphone. "We will need more personnel at points of entry, near hotels, and especially at the stadium. We will need embedded agents posed as stadium security, concessionaires, even as fans of the opposing nation! We can bill City Stadium for the expense and ask for a hefty ticket surcharge to be paid at the gate on top of the ticket price already paid. What's so difficult or oppressive about leaving their alcohol at home? Even if they're here for 'business', it doesn't matter if they're a message board operator or foreign press, there shall be no alcohol in 95X, period."

"I'll get our troops ready," the administrator quickly ended the conversation by leaving the room in a hurry.

Meanwhile, in a 95X call center.

"Thank you for calling 95X," the operator said, "how can I direct your call?"

The caller asked for something that seemed strange. "You've reached the Nation of 95X," the operator replied, while getting a supervisor.

"The caller wants tickets to something," the operator said while routing the caller to the supervisor.

"Hello, I'm a supervisor, how can I help you? World Cup 95 Tickets? Sure, they're for sale, just give us the numbers off the back of a 500-credit app store card…"

Harold Northgate has named his starting eleven ahead of the national team’s first fixture of the world cup qualifying campaign. In typical fashion, the eleven men starting the first game have been assigned the first eleven numbers in the squad of twenty-three, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it will be Northgate’s preferred eleven throughout the course of the qualifying run.

Jeffrey Danchevy starts in goal, with a usual back line of Runner, Rock, McGoldrick and Shank. Whether this will be a traditional back 4, a back 5 (including Bartholomew-Barnham) or a back 3 (with Shank inverting into midfield), we’re not entirely sure, but we’re suspecting the latter of the three options given the manager’s recent experimentation of a 3-2-4-1 formation in training. Spaghetti and Cunningham will offer options in midfield (possibly alongside Brent Bartholomew-Barnham), and the attacking threat will be provided by Adeyemi, Sanchez and Michael Danchevy.

ImageImage
Dantopia could line up in their conventional 4-3-3 or in their new 3-2-4-1 shape, or even fluctuate between the two throughout the course of the match

The flexibility of the Dantopian teamsheet will undoubtedly provide the visiting Ziwanan’s a headache as they aim to decipher how to play against the Lions at their home stadium in Lion City. The roar of the Dantopian crowd will hopefully play a factor in encouraging the Lions as well as they kick off their first fixture in their first world cup qualifiers.

Just because Dantopia is a relative newcomer to the international scene, doesn’t mean they should be underestimated. The level of football this side can play at is up there with some of the very best nations in the qualifiers. Strong performances from key Dantopian players will be needed throughout however to help secure a good position in Group 12, particularly that of Michael Danchevy, who dons the number nine for the Dantopian national team for the first time, in the absence of team captain and star striker Barry Paine.

Early team news prior to the squads being announced is that there are no major injuries or niggles amongst the squad of twenty-three men for the Dantopians, so manager Harold Northgate has a near-full arsenal at his disposal. Obviously the absence of national team captain and Lion City F.C. striker Barry Paine will be felt throughout the duration of the qualifiers, but there are suggestions out of the Dantopian camp that Paine might be back in action as early as the world cup group stages proper, though this is based on best possible projections for his metatarsal recovery.

The Dantopian national team have a long way to go before they can even start to think about qualification to their first world cup however. They have the monumental task of escaping out of Group 15, which is heavily laden with talented teams, with all but one side having a world ranking above that of the Lions. Five of the group participants hold a ranking within the top one-hundred teams in the world, including the visiting Ziwanan side today.

Hello there from sunny Lion City, Dantopia for your live coverage leading up the first world cup qualifying match of Group 15 between the Lions and Ziwana. The hosts have been eagerly anticipating their first foray into world cup qualifying, and although the plucky Dantopians have been given a rank of 241 in the world, the buzz around the stadium from match-going fans certainly hasn't been dampened as a result. There is every hope the national team can use this qualification campaign as a platform to increase their ranking, showcase their footballing ability, and establish themselves on the international scene. The mean ranking of other participants in the group is 106, so the Lions certainly have a proverbial mountain to climb in that respect, but we all know rankings don't necessarily dictate what happens on the pitch. The visiting Ziwanans are ranked 67th in the world themselves, and are expected to field a strong side against Dantopia that should put Harold Northgate and his men to the test.

The expected turnout of 79,894 for the fixture against Ziwana is close to max capacity for the Lion City Arena, with a large cohort of travelling Ziwanan fans looking to make their voices heard in amongst the home supporters. The weather in Lion City is a balmy 22ºC (72ºF) with a gentle breeze of 16kmph (10mph). There is no expected precipitation and humidity in the air reads at 73%. A fantastic occasion with near perfect weather conditions at a world class stadium, all eyes will be on the Dantopian and Ziwanan national teams as they face off against each other shortly.

Oneshot: A Recipe For Success

To serve five hundred thousand

Ingredients
One newly appointed captain. This should be hard but durable and well-received among previous tasters
Twenty-five other players, two of which must not have been used in previous servings
Several members of staff (at least two; more in the background acceptable depending on your level of detail)
A large pressure cooker. One enthused with the energy of tens of thousands of supporters would be preferred
Ten spices from each of the cultures enumerated in Chapter Twelve of the supplied cookbook. Please read it

Preparation Instructions
Mix the members of staff and captain together in a bowl. Wrap with aluminium foil. Do not, at any costs, stir; this will ruin the taste.
Leave for a few days. Listen to the bowl every now and again. It will tell you exactly how to serve; this is just a guide.
Unwrap the bowl and include all other players. They are vital to every single aspect of your meal, bar none.
Do not stir. Do not blend. Do not shake about. Instead, mix, knead, and crumble. This will enhance the personality of your ingredients, not diminish them.

You should have two batches of each of your other spices. Sprinkle all of them into the bowl, in the supplied order, after you finish crumbling. Here are the highlights:
The Valhallan spice is an ice cube; include it last. It is a cool, timeless classic that will introduce much-needed moisture. Nobody likes their food too dry.
The Obamen spice will be smoking hot, and disagreeable. The Brenecian spice will be mild, barely worthy of the name - and it, too, will be disagreeable.
The Canadian spice will be an enigma - unexpected - but should be a net positive for the meal. The Euran spice will be an enigma for purely political reasons.
The Capnordic spice will be familiar, too. Do not include too much of it or you will get acid reflux, as happened the last time you tried to cook this.
Repeat this once, after a short break.

Then, throw everything in the pressure cooker and wait for a year or so. (In your time, of course.)
While you do this, fry some rubber chickens. Is it sacrifice enough? We don't know, but the people who sourced the captain tell us it's a novel but necessary approach.
The chicken should be served as an entrée. Once it is eaten, you should take your other recipe out of the pressure cooker.
There's anywhere between a 20% and a 50% chance that success will be served. Some bullish critics will insist that it's 100%.

Don't listen to them. The quality of the meal will depend entirely on how you approach the spices.
You're a good chef; you know exactly how to handle your other ingredients. You learned this the hard way while cooking this the second time.
It's now your sixth attempt. Only once in the previous five goes have you met with the highest praise. Interpret this how you will.
Whatever you do, I want you to know that I am proud in you, I am confident in your ability and scores of people will appreciate what you've done.

Serving Suggestion
I've mentioned the rubber chickens. You need to serve them or your chances of success will be greatly reduced. Remember to say your prayers to Margaret beforehand.
The meal itself is ideal when served with the top slice of an extravagant eleven-layered cake that takes about a year and a half to bake, and just as nice alongside a substantial buffet of playoffs.
Both of these things will require two trusted, third-party bakers who need to serve 164 other canteens and don't have time for your nonsense. Be assured, however, that they will arrive.
No matter what, however, avoid serving alongside sour, bitter or unsanitary dishes. You don't want to give the wrong impression. You want to give the right impression.
Where better to start?

He has retained power through oil money; zero income tax; free healthcare, schooling, public transport - and markets; tolerating dissent on apolitical matters; allowing private gun ownership (with plenty of training) to protect against future invasions; high-quality PR; and football.

SENTIENTS FORCE TIKARIOT, QUEBEC INTO “ANACBALL” AHEAD OF SHOWDOWN IN BANIJA

AVANAROCH, TIKARIOT - Mere hours ahead of the Sylestonean football team’s flight to Banija ahead of a mouthwatering fixture at the Stadium of the Restoration in Busukuma, Sylestone’s pre-Qualifying tour has come to an end with a slightly disappointing 1-0 loss to a fiery Tikariot outfit - not exactly an ideal result heading into an away match against the defending fucking champions. While a victory over the Grim Reapers in front of a Bay Reserve sell-out provided the home fans a faint spark of hope ahead of what must currently be the most difficult fixture in multiversal football with 18-year-old debutant Brett Sarcav-Jones netting in the 86th minute of the match fitting considering the former Avondale City attacking midfielder’s recent transfer to St John’s Arsenal in the Q-League. Throughout the game, the Quebecois seemed to experiment with an ultra-defensive style of play, much to the travelling fans’ disgust and the locals’ delight as the two sides fought out a classic game of “Anacball”, barely any opportunities presenting themselves at either end of the field due to the stoicism of both groups of defenders. It was only when a rare corner was awarded that the Sentients broke the Grim Reapers’ defence, as Hayden Blamey’s shot rebounded off Sinisa Salihamidzic to the feet of the teenage playmaker and spotting the opening, calmly slotted the ball into the bottom right corner of the net. The game may have just been a friendly, but the roar from the crowd could have easily been mistaken for a World Cup final as the sea of blue rose as one. Yes, it was a friendly and yes, neither team were truly putting absolutely everything into the game but still, to defeat the 19th-ranked nation in the multiverse wasn’t something a team outside of the top hundred did every day.

And while the joyous island nation’s football fans were somewhat brought back down to Earth by a vicious Tikariot side ranked just four places below the Independent Athletes from Quebec and unlike those travelling to the equatorial soils of the Esportivan country, Brian McAllister was not going to deter from his typical game plan, pressing the Sentient defence right from the first whistle and not ever relenting, even when his team finally broke the second-best back line of the World Cup 93 Qualifiers in the 71st minute - no less than they deserved. In the end, a 1-0 home win accurately summed up the flow of the game, with the Snowy Owls receiving the better chances, winning more possession and generally seemed on the front foot for the majority of the game. However, the Sentients weren’t forced to defend for the entire ninety as they would expect against Banija, and received multiple genuine chances, particularly towards the back end of either half. Despite Hayden Blamey’s attempted finish in a 1v1 being gloved onto the post in the 42nd minute and Charlotte Eastwood’s volley from an Abigail Jones cross being tipped onto the bar in second half stoppage time to elicit cheers from the vast majority of the Paladon Park crowd, Mojmir Anac’s side simply weren’t able to place the ball in the back of the Tikariot net as they stumbled to a 1-0 loss.

However, forcing the likes of Tikariot to succumb to this “Anacball” strategy and play a slightly more subdued game - something Sylestone were unable to do across those fateful two legs against another aggressive-minded team in Huayramarca - shows significant signs of improvement and maturity, refusing to conform to their opposition’s game plan and become exposed like last time. With Banija likely to play a similar style, many will hope Anac has prepared his team with a backup strategy in the case their usual does not work and not be caught empty-handed as they were in the Qualifying playoffs a year ago. If Plan A works then that’s all well and good but if Huayramarca could break it, then Banija should have no problem, particularly if they take the pitch with aggressive intent as expected. In that case, what will the Sentients resort to? Over the friendlies, they had not needed to alter their setup too much, only scoring twice and conceding twice over the span of five games that included the friendlies against Quebec and Tikariot alongside the earlier Esportivan Derby Cup but now, with the ultimate test on the horizon, each player will simply have to go into the game backing themselves to put in their best shift.

Banija are world champions for a reason. But this plucky Sylestone team - the same one that kept Kandorith goalless over 180 minutes two years ago, defeated a strong Jeruselem away from home and were undefeated until the semifinals in a home Campionato Esportiva - they are by no means your average team. They have that desire, that spunk in them to defeat any team out there, no matter their history and quality. Can they pull off the unbelievable?

Figure 31: A letter regarding the state of public equipment for children’s play in Schönfeld, Südhain. c1993.

I am writing you this paper with big worries in my heart about the play-grounds. I am one mother who lives here. Sorry for not very good English, but I want to talk about the play things for children in the town. The frames they have for play are rusty and they hurt the children. I cry when I see my little ones get hurt on these play-ground. They have sharp and they fall down because the frames are broken.

Shukran (Thank you). I hope you understand my worries and do something to help. I pray to Allah that you will make things safe for our children. They are good kids and they need good play-grounds.

José eyes swept up from his textbook to the dark window. He could see television in the other room, reflected in the depth of the glass. It’s getting late, he thought, as he rose from his chair. His left knee popped with a satisfying click, and he shuffled into the lounge room. The light from the TV showed him one other person in the room, his mother, who was curled up on the couch underneath a small mound of pillows and blankets. He reached for the TV remote, and in his sleep-wanting stupor, accidentally turned up the volume.

The day is finally here, and we couldn’t be more excited. Tonight at 9:00pm millions of football fans all over the world will tune in to watch the opening round of qualifiers for the 94th World Cup! With football as popular as ever in Brusseldorf, expect a few sore throats and tired eyes at work tomorrow. Our correspondent is live in Eastfield Lodge, where the national team will play their first game of the tournament qualifiers.

To be continued.

Outlined before is a story of old, told from Father to son and mother to daughter about the creation of man and how darkness took hold of our precious world.

In the beginning, when the world was still young, there existed a vast expanse of emptiness. It was a realm where light and darkness intertwined, where the celestial beings danced among the stars, and where the gods weaved the tapestry of life. Among these gods was a powerful and benevolent deity known as Ciuta, the creator of all things.

One day, Ciuta decided to bring forth a new creation, a being that would be called "man." But instead of fashioning man from the clay or the dust of the earth, Ciuta chose a different path. He took an egg, a symbol of birth and potential, and imbued it with the essence of life.

Within this egg, the spark of humanity glowed, waiting for its moment to emerge. And so, the egg was placed in the hands of the divine, where it incubated under the watchful gaze of Ciuta and the celestial beings.

Finally, the time came for the egg to hatch, and as it cracked open, a man emerged. He was the first of his kind, created from the mystical egg, and he marveled at the world around him. But the man yearned for purpose, for challenges that would test his strength and spirit. He approached Ciuta and expressed his desire for struggles.

Ciuta, in his infinite wisdom, understood the man's yearning and agreed to grant his request. But knowing the consequences that would accompany struggles, Ciuta turned to the Nidyerekezi, a fallen celestial being entrusted with the domain of darkness and temptation. Ciuta struck a deal with Nidyerekezi allowing him to bring death and struggles into the world of man.

Nidyerekezi, eager to sow chaos and despair, unleashed his power upon the world. Disease, hardship, and suffering became part of the human experience. But Ciuta, in his boundless compassion, did not abandon humanity. He summoned the children of the first man, those who carried the bloodline of heroes, and bestowed upon them a sacred gift—a bow, a symbol of strength and resilience.

These chosen few, the heroes born from the first man, were destined to fight against the struggles and challenges that plagued humanity. They were to be the champions of light and hope, armed with the bow, their tool of protection and justice. Their mission was to stand against the forces of darkness and bring solace to those in need.

And so, the heroes, guided by the divine spark within them, embarked on a quest to battle the hardships that befell humanity. They faced adversity with unwavering determination, protecting their fellow men and women from the grasp of Nidyerekezi's influence. Their arrows struck true, piercing the heart of despair and lighting the way towards a brighter future.

So long time readers of this blog may remember when I, your favourite anonymous blogger, visited every National League stadium in one season, a journey that cost me an arm and a leg in the end, but gained me a few new friends along the way. Well, with the FFA's decision to hold home qualifiers for World Cup 94 in an array of Audioslavian stadiums, I've decided to go for it all over again.

It was touch-and-go on the decision. The FFA had decided to produce only 1,000 'tourist season tickets' that would get the owner into every game (travel not included, unfortunately), so I'd put myself in the lottery for the chance to buy one. I was over the moon to have been selected, but soon after found out that my chances of getting a ticket were about one in two, with less than two thousand people entering themselves into the lotto.

The national game is in a slump, so 'they' say, but in truth declining attendances and on-pitch fortunes might just be the new normal. The public still goes crazy come big tournaments like the CAFA Cup and the Cup of Harmony, but attendances for qualifiers have been low since, well, since the side stopped being particularly good. It was one thing to support a soul crushingly tedious football team when they were getting results. Quite another to force yourself to watch the same team fail over and over again.

Part of the drudgery involved in going to see the national team might actually be in having to go to the Arena Kirola.

You know when you go on a tour of a castle and you see all the finery in some medieval king's private quarters, and you and the few hundred other nobodies are just walking around gawping at things you could never possibly own yourself? The experience of walking into the Grand Forum district of Cathair is largely the same. It's almost entirely sealed off from the public due to various very carefully positioned train lines and rivers for which new bridges or tunnels were ever constructed, meaning to actually enter this diamond-shaped caucophany of glass sky-scrapers, intricately designed gardens and ludicrously expensive cafes you have to enter either by helicopter or a specially constructed metro line for which a special pass is needed on weekdays, or whenever there's a football match at the Arena Kirola. Fans of visiting football teams used to take utmost care to cause as much devastation as possible to the underground station before laws were enacted to force them to arrive by a fleet of the jankiest buses Cathair city council could find - an arrangement that meant everyone still had to walk the final three kilometres through a 'chicken run' of fencing.

When you actually get to the stadium you're greeted with a large 3D mural of a blue lion painted on one side - a symbol for 1830 Cathair - while arriving via the metro - thankfully reopened for international match days - you're greeted with one of the most beautiful sights in football - the massive statue of a black bull partially built into the outer walls of the stadium, positioned in such a way that it's snarling towards most of the stairwells leading out of the metro station.

It's a wonderful sight, it just takes so long to get there. The glass skyscrapers surrounding it are imposing for Audioslavians as well as most visitors, and after decades of having the very scenery around your national stadium shout at you before a game, it's fair to say most Audioslavians are sick of the place.

Inside, the stadium seems perpetually dirty, with almost a century of grime permeating the very walls of the arena. The high, white walls around the pitch used to be turned into murals by artists intent on portraying Audioslavia Versus Whoever in spray paint and stencils in the week before a big match. Now, though, the wall itself is crumbling so much that a small curtain of LCD screens tend to get placed in front of it.

I won't miss this place. I won't miss its plastic 1830 Cathair fans or its sense of self-importance. That the new national stadium is being built a few miles west of here, in an area of the city accessible to everyone all year round, is to be a welcome change.

The national team walk out of the tunnel wearing their traditional claret and green stripes, this time with black shorts and socks, to a stadium that is three quarters full, with many likely still traversing the maze-like entrances outside. Alongside them, playing the part of the final visiting national team to the Arena Kirola is HUElavia in their familiar all-yellow. The final visiting team to the stadium as it currently looks, at any rate. 1830 Cathair will be tearing down about half of it over the next couple of years, with a goal of turning into a slightly smaller, but more accommodating stadium whose best seats they plan on charging a small fortune for. With 1830 Cathair fans so often working in the area, the most affluent in the nation, such tickets will still be in high demand.

But enough about that bullshit football club. Here come some shit bulls.

A new World Cup cycle brings with it challenges that each and every team has to overcome in order to get to their desired location, that of course being a trip to the Finals once the Qualifiers are over and done with. Fifteen groups of eleven means that a hundred and sixty-five teams go into this competition knowing that only thirty of them will be so fortunate as to make that journey to join the pair of cohosts in competing in the latter competition and the ability to fight for the right to be crowned the champion. That means just over one out of every six teams will be making it to the grand dance, showing the smallest margin of errors that can be afforded and still be able to find your team in the Finals, to still have that opportunity to proceed further. The Qualifiers are not so much about triumph over the challenges that arise, for even successfully conquering your challenges may not grant you the boon of finding your way into the Finals, it is more a battle of survival and endurance, to see who can pull themselves over the finish line even when it seems that all the forces in the world are trying to hold you back and keep you from making it through.

The Wanderers enter into the fray a team that has seemingly lost its imagination and in need of some desperate help mentally to get them back to playing as one of the better teams in the world that has been the standard for the team for many decades. Multiple campaigns of struggling through the Qualifiers and then finding a way to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat at the eleventh hour do show that the team is capable of heroics when its back is truly pushed against the wall, but the team should have not needed the display of such heroism for three straight campaigns. The recent struggles in the Copa Rushmori also point to a team that is not quite right with itself, as the regional championship has historically been something of a stomping ground for the Wanderers where they would only falter when vying with the best that the rest of the region had on offer. Yet two straight tournaments now where the team has failed to progress from the group stage is signs for concern and to raise the alarm. Zachary Orengo has his work cut out for him if he is going to get this team back to playing at the level that her fans had become accustomed to and dream to return to, where they might even be contenders for the World Cup itself as they were when they made it to the championship game for three straight cycles.

Let's talk about our Banija manager for a second, as he is something of an enigma within the dual islands right now and will likely be fighting for his job despite having gotten a contract that was supposed to see him through the conclusion of World Cup 95. Orengo was not considered to be the best choice by the fans as he can him and tossed out decades of what is familiar and the "Pasargan way" of doing things, getting rid of the 4-4-2 at a time when it feels like there is a plethora of strikers to choose from, instead opting for a single striker formation. It appeared to have had success with the way the team bounced back in the second half of the 93 Qualifiers, yet the performance from the team in the Finals and the Copa was bitterly disappointing and the PFA not filing the paperwork for the Young Wanderers to compete in the Di Bradini Cup further hampered things. The DBC is where the stars of tomorrow have been traditionally found and groomed for the Wanderers, missing an edition can potentially set back development for a decade. This is the hand that Orengo has been dealt though and he will need show his mettle if he is to bring the Wanderers to bear against her foes in the upcoming months.

The Wanderers qualifying group will not want for a lack of opponents that the team is not familiar with, having once more been drawn into a group with fellow Rushmori nation Eastfield Lodge as well as perhaps a growing rival in the form of Tumbra. The Esportiva nation is the pot one team in the group and is fully expected to run the gauntlet and grab the automatic qualifying spot from the group, their rise through the ranks having been meteoric and well deserved based on both result and talent. The Wanderers have had both success and difficulties at times with them and four points from the pair of meetings is the goal, though at least winning the game in Torgos is a must if there is to be any hope that the Wanderers might prove stiff competition for the qualifying spot. Eastfield Lodge is one of those teams that is a fixture in the sport but their curse for a lack of success is quite well known, bar a single Copa victory which they just happened to best the Wanderers in the Final of. Barring that, the Wanderers have oft held the upperhand against their regional fellows and it should on paper be six points if the team performs up to talent level. The rest of the group is a collection of mostly unknowns for the Wanderers and those who would dare to topple the established order of things in Tumbra and ourselves, whether they can do so or not will spell how intriguing this group will be going through the entire breath of the marathon of this campaign.
