The Queendom of Nekohime/猫姫の女王の国 resides in an alternate universe, where humans, in an attempt to create genetically engineered catfolk to serve them, ened up becoming the servants/pets of their own feline creation. Nekohime is located in what was formerly known as Tokyo, Japan, though they are not the only nation in said universe, they are the main nation in it. (other nations exist for foxes/kitsune, dogs/inu, and other animals.) However, only the Nekohime Archipelago (the former Japanese islands) is ruled by the animals, as they co-exist in most other nations.

The Nekohime National Soccer Team, affectionately known as the "Soccernekos" plays at the Nekohime National Stadium/猫姫国立競技場 in Daito City/大都市 (Shinjuku Ward), Shuto Prefecture/首都県 (Tokyo).
They are managed by Sayaka Kumura/久村 沙也夏, the former manager of the inaugural N.League 1/Nリーグ1 champion Daito Strikers/大東ストライカーズ, who also play at the Kokuritsu Kyōgijō. She usually plays with an attacking 3-4-3 2DM Wide formation.
Given all felines in Nekohime all nominally identify as feminine (catgirls), despite the species being 100% intersex, the squad is considered genderless. They are also ageless and immortal, and cannot be injured.

Yes, this nation is full of immortal catgirls and their human "pets". It's based on a PMT Japan where genetic pet catgirl experiments got a bit out of hand and made humans the pets instead. And for some reason they just like playing sports a lot.
Any resemblance between this and any other furry NS nations, past, present, and future, is entirely coincidental. Any Japanese translations offered are from either DeepL or Google Translate, as I do not speak Japanese.

Recent history

The Starsian National Football Team is The 14 Stars's national squad in association soccer competitions for national associations across the entire multiverse world of soccer.
There have been alot of changes since their last appearance in the World Cup 91 qualifiers, the league was shortly abolished because it had imploded from financial issues.
With new teams and management the national team has gotten back on its feet and is currently led by young Chromatik Rose Gabin who hopes to achieve new success just like our national team's players.

With years of abscence football has been losing popularity to the point it became dangerous, but now everything is back on track new players have been chosen and new names appear.
Former leading players have assumed leadership roles and are currently working hard to getting Starsian football back to its old form fierce and enjoyable as it always used to be.
With all those new faces the team lacks alot of experience and for many players their international experience is zero which will for the coming years put great pressure on those who have that experience like Kira Blade, Holly Moonlight, Calvin Princeton and Federico Zaratti among others.

Tactical Set-Up

The Starsian side is a very skilled team with a very high team chemistry and morale combining it with their quick paced game they are an opponent for all teams to watch out for due to their offensive style.
They play in a 4-3-3 which through the match can be changed to various other formations suiting the game that they play however they are an offensive team loving to have possesion of the ball.
It is know the Starsian team loves game control, taking the initiative and play their best, they are more willing to play a great game of soccer rather then simply getting a good result.

Left Corner Taker: Bertha Bernard
Right Corner Taker: Bertha Bernard
Penalties: Christian Fourseasons
Direct FK Taker: Bertha Bernard
Indirect FK Taker: Layla Raharinaivo
Most likely to foul/be booked: Sarah Nolan
Most likely to shoot: Christian Fourseasons
Most likely to score from close-range: Christian Fourseasons
Most likely to score from long-range: Christian Fourseasons
Most likely to be fouled: Joyce Villegas
Most likely to attempt the spectacular: Layla Raharinaivo

Star players

Calvin Princeton
Its hard to be a goalkeeper and a star player at the same time, however this individual Calvin Princeton shows that it is more then possible with his spirit and motivational character.
He is a reliable pillar of support for the team both on and off the field who knows his teammates and what drives them, combined with some incredible goalkeeping talent hes is the number 1 goalie of the country now.
Others describe him as a sort of big brother to them, he can listen to others very well although he is not really talkative when he isn't in goal or doing anything soccer related.
He is the mark of a new generation of goalies that play more daring and play with the team instead of leading them without confidence.

Federico Zaratti
One of the very few players on the defense with some experience, Federico is the son of Gianna Zaratti who also played for our team and was a very good midfielder back in the old days.
Sadly Federico has seen the rise and fall of Starsian football and now has to deal with an inexperienced team that has quality but not the right mentality and is in a negative mood to some degree because of the past chaos.
Federico is a very skillled defender and most likely the best one currently around, many fans have their hopes on him that he can build with the new players on a strong defense.

Christian Fourseasons
Also described as the man with the ridiculous long surname this man knows how to score, he's been doing it for years but always stood in the shadow of Holly Moonlight who made name and fame.
Currently under new coach Rose Gabin a new course has been set and Fourseasons is chosen as the striker and the person who is tasked with bringing in goals and wins for his team.
He is an experienced striker with confidence and the ability to coordinate well with his team members and he hopes to become the new post-collapse Starsian Ace striker.
Its not the only change but its the most wanted one among the fans finding Fourseasons very underrated for the amount of work he has done through his career on domestic ground, others find that Moonlight unfairly got striker because of her famous name and youth experience.
However with this man up front any defense is bound to fall, he is the ''God of goals'' of the country.

Kira Blade
Kira Blade, currently not active due to her pregnancy but still nonetheless a player that earns her spot here, there is no name on the team that can replace her among notable players.
Kira has the skill, the name, the experience and most importantly Kira has a very kind personality which she uses to elevate any team shes in to heights they never imagined to be possible.
In an earlier interview Kira has said she is planning on many more years and to also lead this new generation of players after her into the right way until they are able to take over.
Marcus Blade is her father and the president of the Starsian Football Association, people who believe shes mentioned because of her dad are very wrong.
Kira has won many titles and also awards on her name for best player and it even goes so far that she's been crowned the best player of the entire decade a decade which even Flare who is now retired was active in, Kira is the only player who played with the old veterans.

National Stadia

Hornet's Nest
Location: Waldster
Club team: Waldster FC
Capacity: 75000
Opened: 0U
Open/Closed Roof: Covered seating, retractable roof

Image
Flavovespia’s largest stadium, based in the capital. Whilst modern grounds may have eclipsed it in terms of facilities and standards of design, none have yet matched its capacity. A ground well connected as well across the capital and beyond. Club side Waldster FC have had less success in recent times here than the national team.

Highland Road
Location: Hadford Hill
Club team: Hadford Hill FC
Capacity: 69518
Opened: 79BU
Open/Closed Roof: Open seating and field

Image
As far as “old school cool” goes, it’s hard to defeat Highland Road in Hadford Hill. The oldest ground in continuous use, it’s atmosphere and classic styling are unrivalled. With uncovered stands, this ground can also be tough for visiting fans and players alike. Fans of Hadford Hill FC, and old school fans however, love this stadium dearly, a monument to the club’s history.

Saints Park
Location: St Astons City
Club team: St Astons City FC
Capacity: 60000
Opened: 30BU
Open/Closed Roof: Covered seating, open field

Image
A well liked stadium, albeit one a little bit away from the heart of St Astons City. It carries a fair amount of history and tradition, without feeling too dated. The atmosphere here in recent years has gotten better and more renowned, and the amenities and facilities around the ground are top notch, even for a stadium of this age.

Kit

Image

Home-Away-Third

A new set of kits for the next two cycles, and it’s a retro inspired look for Flavovespia. Gone are the shadow patterns, the fades and other patterns. Instead, it’s a “double V” with angular sections on the sleeves. The yellow shirt, black shorts and socks are complemented by a reversal in the away kit, adding combinations where there’s a partial clash. The third kit sees Flavovespia switch back to white, a colour used in the past before, but bucking a recent trend of more extravagantly coloured third kits.

Manager – Augusto Rinaldi Age: 62 [SVG/FVA]

Hired for the CAFA Cup 2 campaign, Augusto Rinaldi will start his 5th set of World Cup Qualifiers for Flavovespia now. The first foreign manager of Flavovespia, who now also holds Flavovespian citizenship, he’s taken the side to unprecedented heights, 3 World Cups, 2 CAFA Cup victories, and much higher status internationally. His direct play and tactics have worked well, and he’s built up a harmonious squad. When he eventually leaves this role, he’ll be a tough act to follow.

Goalkeepers

1 Aarif Muhammad Age: 33 Position: GK Club: Rockridge Phoenix [BRE] Caps: 205 Goals: 0
You can’t get this many caps as a goalkeeper without a lot of talent, and Aarif Muhammad has had that. Coming good in the last few cycles and fulfilling his potential, his great shot stopping and distribution, as well as more consistent form has been invaluable for Flavovespia. At 33, he’s still the #1 goalkeeper, but this could well be his last cycle in that position, with Nathan Crewe and Thomas Foley primed to take over soon.

12 Nathan Crewe Age: 29 Position: GK Club: Marthorpe City FC Caps: 5 Goals: 0
A domestic champion with Marthorpe City, Nathan Crewe seems to be ready to step out of the shadows, and become the starting goalkeeper within a year or two, a move he’s certainly had to wait for. A real maestro in the air, at almost 2 metres tall, and has great distribution. His shot stopping and agility aren’t the best, but have reached a really strong standard recently. If Aarif Muhammad has any off form moments, Crewe is the second choice now.

23 Thomas Foley Age: 31 Position: GK Club: Bavingtor FC Caps: 3 Goals: 0
3 caps doesn’t really reflect Foley’s ability, in another era he’d be at least in double digits. At 31 and now third choice, it doesn’t look like his tally will go up, although he’s considered the best choice in a penalty shootout situation. His agility and reflexes are some of the best in Flavovespia, although his distribution and awareness are a bit lower than hoped for. Somewhat feisty as well, he’s seen red a few times for scuffles.

Defenders

2 David Lyons Age: 32 Position: LB Club: Maethoru SC [KOR] Caps: 195 Goals: 3
The captain who’s overseen so much success for Flavovespia, this extroverted, enthusiastic left back is a fan favourite, both for his personality and performances. He’s a tough tackling full back, who generally stays back but can play the ball forward well. At 32, he’ll be one of a fair few players in this squad looking at this World Cup as potentially the last they’ll be a definite starter, if even in the squad. Nevertheless, that’ll only inspire him further.

3 Andrew Dance Age: 29 Position: RB Club: Loxthorpe Rovers FC Caps: 127 Goals: 1
Off the pitch, a friendly, relatively reserved individual, who seems likeable. On the pitch, expect him to be one of the first to make a strong challenge, a fierce tackler and one who will hustle and hassle any wingers and forwards going up against him. Also not a defender who ventures forward much, but has steadily improved his ability in knowing when the time is right, and how to distribute the ball better.

4 Stuart Cookson Age: 31 Position: CB Club: Marthorpe City FC Caps: 146 Goals: 2
An important centre back for Flavovespia, who’s sometimes been underrated in their contribution to this side. Tall even by centre back standards, his positioning and ability to win the ball in the air, or with a well timed tackle is impressive, even if his pace and acceleration leaves a little to be desired. In recent years he’s also developed a reputation for being one of the calmer players in the team, essential in tough situations.

5 Paul Taylor Age: 26 Position: CB Club: AC Izotz Zubia [AUD] Caps: 73 Goals: 0
For many, he’s the main hope for Flavovespia in the next 5 or so years at centre back. A growing talent when he left for AC Izotz Zubia, he’ll hope this cycle he can nail down a starting centre back role more decisively. Like Cookson, he’s tall and strong, with traditional defending his forte, and less so on the ball playing front. Whilst he’s not quite as bad as before, his rashness and somewhat bad-tempered attitude can flare up from time to time, and he’s prone to streakiness in form.

13 Kishan Rees Age: 30 Position: LWB Club: St John's Arsenal [QUE] Caps: 61 Goals: 0
A jack of all trades, Kishan Rees has provided a fair amount of depth to the Flavovespia squad in the past years, as well as a wing back option down the left, if the circumstances require it. For a defender, his passing, crossing and dribbling are impressive. However his marking and tackling are sometimes wayward, including a tendency to make rash challenges. Another of the Flavovespian players in the national side who play abroad, having played in Græntfjall and now Quebec.

13 Stan Scott-Wilson Age: 21 Position: LB Club: Marthorpe City FC Caps: 1 Goals: 0
A move to Marthorpe City has seen Stan Scott-Wilson show why he’s one of Flavovespia’s most promising defensive prospects. A left back with a little bit of a more attacking focus when the likes of Lyons, Scott-Wilson is also unusually tall and pacey for someone in his position. Whilst the more technical aspects of playing left back need some work, the signs are there he’s one for the future, and he’ll look to take guidance from the experienced Lyons.

14 Nazir Hussain Age: 25 Position: CB Club: Loxthorpe Rovers FC Caps: 8 Goals: 0
One of a fair few options being explored to increase centre back depth, Nazir Hussain has done enough in recent appearances to retain his spot in the squad. As with many Flavovespian defenders, his approach is the more classic no-nonsense, win the ball and clear the ball. A strong, stocky build helps with his ball winning abilities, and he’s a hard worker. Maybe not the most technically gifted in the squad, but there’s space for him and at 25, time to improve.

15 Daniel Lansdell Age: 33 Position: CB Club: Bavingtor FC Caps: 109 Goals: 1
At 33 now, it’s reasonable to think this will be Lansdell’s last cycle, and he’ll have to fight hard this time to keep his cap tally ticking over. He’s generally adept at all skills a centre back needs, but doesn’t have total mastery of many, and has been a bit in and out of form over the years. He’s calmer than he used to be, but will still argue if he feels a decision went the wrong way.

16 Scott Gillespie Age: 25 Position: RB Club: Syneca AC [SRS] Caps: 3 Goals: 0
Adventuring abroad whilst still a teenager has allowed Scott Gillespie to make a name for himself overseas, and has done enough to make the national team. A tall, defensive minded full back, he’s got a similar play style to Andrew Dance, a contrast to past squads where often a full back would be complemented by a wing back in the squad. A decent ball winner, particularly in the air, and personality wise, adaptable and friendly. Not a player known for causing trouble.

24 Malcolm Beresford Age: 28 Position: CB Club: Bavingtor FC Caps: 12 Goals: 0
A bit of a depth player, but one who just needs that bit extra to contend for more frequent caps. Somewhat unusually for a centre back, he’s fairly short, and not the strongest. However, he’s able to move quicker, and can play the ball well. Tackling and marking are also good traits for Beresford. If there’s a battle for a starting centre back spot, he’ll throw his hat into the ring.

Midfielders

6 Jonathan Goldstone Age: 30 Position: CM Club: Bavingtor FC Caps: 72 Goals: 2
Something of a late bloomer in terms of debuting, doing so a couple of cycles back at 26. However he quickly showed what he could do, making a name for himself in Flavovespia’s midfield. A sizeable midfielder who’s fairly physical, but also can move the ball well at feet or via passing. Not necessarily quick, but positions himself well to compensate. A generally unflappable character, although he’ll know some of the youngsters in the squad are coming for his place.

7 Kieron Player Age: 31 Position: CDM Club: Coret Hawks [NPH] Caps: 196 Goals: 14
Something of a quiet assassin, this stoic midfielder has become a key asset for Flavovespia in the past cycles. His vision and passing are very strong, and his set pieces can pose a real threat for teams caught napping. A player who has really taken to Rinaldi’s system of quick, direct play, he can move the ball around well. He’ll hope to have another cycle or two left in him.

8 David Wassell Age: 29 Position: CDM Club: Yerushalayim [ADB] Caps: 85 Goals: 0
Now in his key years, Wassell will hope to use this cycle to show his worth. He’s strong and sturdy, always looking to force a turnover, if maybe at the expense of positioning. A player who can unnerve opponents, especially those needing just that bit extra time on the ball. He travels well generally, not someone who finds away games too difficult. He’s another player however who can see the young midfielders fast approaching for his spot.

11 Jonathan Bagshaw Age: 25 Position: RAM Club: AC Izotz Zubia [AUD] Caps: 131 Goals: 67
The consensus amongst most is he’s Flavovespia’s best player for a generation, and maybe longer than that. The first, and so far only Flavovespian to have been signed for over £100m ($10m NSD), he like Paul Taylor plays for AC Izotz Zubia. Nimble, agile, always looking for time and space, and with the ability to place passes and shots with so much accuracy, he can be a nightmare for defenders when he’s at his best. Unlike some star footballers, he’s not much of a party animal or big on celebrity culture, he’s an introverted, reserved figure off the pitch.

17 Martin Edwards Age: 27 Position: CDM Club: Langmere Green Rovers FC Caps: 16 Goals: 1
Martin Edwards is one of a fair few central midfielders jostling to be noticed in this squad of 26. Jostling also describes his playstyle well, he’s a central defensive midfielder of the ball winning persuasion. He’s plays close to the line, and occasionally over it. He can play very quick passes, even if at long range the accuracy tends to be a little less than desired. Another player who does have a bit of a hot-headed streak.

18 Anthony Lane Age: 22 Position: LAM Club: Loxthorpe Rovers FC Caps: 1 Goals: 0
An up and coming star, but one who hasn’t necessarily been the most popular selection for this squad. His debut was the 3rd place playoff in the recent CAFA Cup 6, he can play as a left attacking midfielder and left winger, but also as a central attacking midfielder if need be. Great pace and acceleration allows him to drive into the box to make attacking runs, his main area of improvement needs to be in being more effective in build up play. This cycle could be a good learning experience for him, and some chances should come.

19 Amrik Singh Age: 26 Position: RAM Club: Binclestead Wood FC Caps: 21 Goals: 3
At 26 he’s impressed a lot at club level, and would have more caps but for the presence of Jonathan Bagshaw. He has a lot of pace and agility, and can get a lot of curve and movement on the ball when crossing and shooting. His ability to play in the centre, and occasionally the left, could be useful in the squad. His one main flaw is sometimes missing the obvious play, or pushing too hard to win the ball back in a high press.

20 Charles Adams Age: 22 Position: CDM Club: Maethoru SC [KOR] Caps: 0 Goals: 0
Left Langmere Green Rovers for Sandfjell Fotball in Cap Nord, and in 2 seasons became a star for them. An incredible fee of £80m ($8m NSD) sees him go and join David Lyons at Maethoru SC. A very mature player for his age, his playmaking from the back and centre of the midfield is great, a joy to watch from a player of his age. A fairly slender build, whilst he’s not the first to make the strong challenges, he shy’s away from them a lot less now. A surprise non-inclusion in some eyes for the CAFA Cup 6 squad, he’ll quickly look to make an impact now.

25 Christopher Hill Age: 19 Position: CM Club: Marthorpe City FC Caps: 0 Goals: 0
One of Flavovespia’s most hyped prospects, and having seem the impact he made for Marthorpe City, it’s not hard to see why. Still a teenager, his ability to cover lots of ground, win the ball and pick out a team mate looked mightily impressive for his age, he already seemed a key midfielder in the Flavovespian Super League. Whilst he still needs to work on concentration, focus and decision making a touch, it’s clear this dynamic, energetic talent, could well be getting many caps down the years.

Forwards

9 Michael Cole Age: 31 Position: CF Club: North Hall [BRE] Caps: 174 Goals: 88
A striker who’s equally fine playing as a left winger, he’s one of what’s been a fearsome attacking trio for Flavovespia in recent years. Slight selfish tendencies aside, he’s a real asset at up front, his shots can be as accurate as they are powerful. Maybe a slightly brash, abrasive character, similar to father and former Flavovespia manager Nick Cole, he’s nevertheless hard for Flavovespians to dislike given his national team contributions. 100 international goals is well within his sights, he’ll hope to eventually get close to Scott Coleman’s 135.

10 Adrian Jones Age: 32 Position: CF Club: 1830 Cathair [AUD] Caps: 95 Goals: 50
A striker with a strong build, Adrian Jones may just be reaching that age and slight drop off where other options need considering. He typically drops back a little deeper, inviting the wingers to potentially cut inside. However if Jones is in the box, he’s an aerial threat and can shoot well. A player who’s form can end up inconsistent, he’ll be under pressure to keep his spot.

21 Richard Birmingham Age: 23 Position: CF Club: Langmere Green Rovers FC Caps: 20 Goals: 5
A strong, target man style striker, he was a bit out of form in CAFA Cup 6. He maintains a spot in this side however, having showed high potential, and great promise in earlier caps. He’s got a powerful header and shot, and can battle defenders with physicality, rather than just relying on pace. He’s still at an age where he can hone his skills further. Whilst the competition is fierce to play in attack, expect Richard Birmingham to add to his tally of caps so far.

22 Charles Shepherd Age: 18 Position: CF Club: Marthorpe City FC Caps: 0 Goals: 0
As far as bold calls go, Augusto Rinaldi calling up not one, but two teenage strikers to his squad is one. Charles Shepherd however has had a real breakout season for Marthorpe City, especially at the tail end. Getting minutes on the board were key, and when he did, he showed a real maturity. He showed great hold-up play, and the ability to catch out defenders. His ability to get power and shots and passes could be improved, but he’s been marked as one to watch for the future.

26 Peter Langdon Age: 18 Position: CF Club: Loxthorpe Rovers FC Caps: 0 Goals: 0
The other teenage striker called up. Peter Langdon was a record breaker at youth level, and when he’s had chances in the Loxthorpe Rovers senior team, has certainly shown he could one day meet the level of hype. He’s very pacey and can dribble well, making him a potential option out on the wings. His shooting also looks strong, although he’s still prone to taking a touch too many, and needs to read the game more effectively. Still, a real talent for the future in the eyes of many, even if a few think the call up of him and Shepherd are too early.

Tactics

4-3-3 is the default for Flavovespia. They play a direct, counter-attacking style of football. The role of the back 4 is largely to win the ball, and get it away from goal, to a midfielder. The midfield trio contains a ball winning midfielder, a playmaker, and a roaming midfielder, acting in tandem to pressure the opposition midfield out of position, and in possession to quickly find gaps and spaces to exploit. In attack, the centre forward players as a false nine, able to go forward themselves, but sitting a little deeper. If the defence are drawn in, then the wide forwards can try and cut inside to become a goalscoring threat. If not, the wide forwards can act as options to cross the ball into the box.

Zwangzug officially have no nickname, but are increasingly likely to respond to "Zebras" from other teams' fans (this is the official name of their baseball national team).

If RPing first, please feel free to name goalscorers, injure, and distribute cards to my players at will! You can also godmod events, though I'd appreciate advance warning if you want to take narrative liberties that I couldn't just as easily do to your team (due to being, e.g., a mostly-MT, mostly-human country). Put another way, metaphorical "godmodding" is welcome if clever, but I'd avoid the literal sense. Also, do not cause lasting harm in my country and/or to my citizens without contacting me first.

Because the rental price set by private fields was to high, the government build a national sports complex with baseball, soccer and gridiron fields and an hockey arena. The National Sports Complex is located in the small Sacré-Coeur district, close to downtown. Sacré-Coeur, or Sagrado Corazon, is also known as the Latin district due to it's large hispanophone population.

Both stadiums (Soccer Field 1 and Soccer Field 2) have many VIP boxes, press boxes, restaurant stands, camera booths, up to date video, scoreboard and lights technology.

Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer is a city state of 78 square kilometers located on Anaia and founded in the 18th century by Jean-Jacques Le Boucanier (John James The Buccaneer), a pirate of unknown North or Central Calanian origin who decided to retire from piracy and found his own nation south of his country of origin. Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer has emerged in the 20th century as a merchant city state which favors capitalism. The current ruler of Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer is Prince Pierre-Alexandre 1er de Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer, a direct descendant of Jean-Jacques Le Boucanier. Elections are outlawed in Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer. The national animal is the tapir, which you can see wandering in our streets. It's also our team nickname.

Close Anaian neighbors of Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer are the isolated communist city-state of Burnham-on-Stove, located on the Stove River, and the Republic of Cardenao (to be comfirmed), located south of the mountain chain.

Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer is known for it's local gastronomy based on tapir meat. Meals like tapir burgers, tapir parmentier (cottage pie), spaghetti with tapir meatballs and tapir blanquette are very popular. The city, with 387 639 inhabitants, is known for it's many restaurants, pubs and night clubs. There is many hotels whitin Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer which can accomodate players, coaches, journalists and fans! Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer also have two privately owned beaches. These two are among the most beautifullest South Calanian beaches!

Location: Port Saint-Jean, Île de Richelieu

The Stade national de la montagne de l'ours has been build specifically for international matches. Île de Richelieu's population is 928, so, with a capacity of 11,569, a little more than 10,000 foreign football fans can attend the games!

The stadium has 3 stands. East Side stand, West Side stand and North Endline Stand. There is a small VIP stand on the south endline and the pressbox is located on the south endline as well. The stadium has lights on the four corners so evening games can be played. The stadium doesn't have a video board, nor a scoreboard.

Île de Richelieu (formerly known as Jan Mayen Island) was discovered by Dutch explorers early in the 17th century and served as a whaling base until it was abandonned. France claimed the island in the 19th century and renamed it Île de Richelieu (Richelieu Island) but the island's jurisdiction was finally given to Norway. The French speaking majority, led by the clergy, declared the independence of Île de Richelieu in 1948.

Île de Richelieu's population is 928. The largest city and capital city is Port Saint-Jean and more than the half of the island's population lives in the city (534). The city have a few upscale restaurants along with fast food restaurants and some local pubs. Beer is largely consumed on the island and Richelois likes to get around at the local pub after work.

The island only have one hotel and it may cause a problem if 10,000 football fans are coming. The only hotel on the island is a 124 room SpringHill Suites by Marriott located in the old Port Saint-Jean and half of hotel will be reserved for the visiting team (players, staff and media) who will have 50 rooms at their disposal. The remaining rooms (74) will be sold at a high price for football fans. The island also has a dozen of guesthouses that ranges from 1 to 8 rooms each. Football fans will have to bring their tents and sleeping bags and camp on the outskirts of the town!

île de Richelieu has a hyperoceanic polar climate with a Köppen classification of ET (polar with tundra), sometimes reckoned as EM (maritime polar). Seasonal temperature variations are extremely small considering the latitude of the island, with ranges from around 6 °C (43 °F) in July/August to −4 °C (25 °F) in February/March. The highest recorded temperature in the summer was 18.1 °C (64.6 °F) in june and the lowest recorded temperature was -28.4 °C (-19.1 °F) in february. Being located inside the arctic circle, île de Richelieu experiences sun light almost all day long in the summer and darkness almost all day long in the winter.

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE: MYTANIJA NATIONAL POOL FOR WORLD CUP 94 QUALIFICATION

PLAYER INFORMATION
## Pos. Name Age Caps/Goals Club
01 GK Semir Besak 29 106/0 Mipojoseon (QUE)
12 GK Robert Laure–Suprinovic 22 0/0 Z’ai’ai (CMT)
23 GK Anton Puzin 29 21/0 Bastion (EUR)
34 GK Janez Anzlovar 22 0/0 Arka (on loan from Atletik)

Semir Besak, at this point, has more club titles and personal accolades than you can shake a stick at. Quite why you would want to is anybody's guess, but he's a double Testiculo - voted for both the public and panel awards - and widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the multiverse at the moment. Ravnjak will hope that he's the safe pair of hands that he has always had in his teams. Particularly because the back-up options are largely inexperienced, in Robert Laure-Suprinovic or Janez Anzlovar, or they are Anton Puzin. Laure-Suprinovic is a Mytanar-Chromatik dual national who has enjoyed a reasonable start to his career in the Red League with Z'ai'ai, whilst Anzlovar has impressed despite a leaky defence at Arka. Puzin is more experienced, but has always had Besak in his way and is unlikely to dislodge him at this juncture in his career.

## Pos. Name Age Caps/Goals Club
02 DL Asmir Milosevic 28 21/0 1896 Ebor
13 DL/C Vuk Bajalica 30 26/1 Tikariot City (TKT)
24 DL/R Nemanja Ovcina 25 34/0 Eivora Athletic (TKT)

Three options for the left wing-back position. Asmir Milosevic comes off the back of a Mytanar title with 1896 Ebor, probably the most likely for the starting role both due to his recent success and Ravnjak's familiarity with the player having coached him earlier in his career when he was at Ararat Severyan. He knows this left wing-back role like the back of his hand. Vuk Bajalica enjoyed an exceptional season despite relegation and earned a move to Tikariot City as a result, he found a new-found knack for set-pieces and is likely to be one of the first choice takers when on the pitch. Nemanja Ovcina can play down both sides and has played a fair amount of international football over the years.

## Pos. Name Age Caps/Goals Club
03 DC Bosko Pestotnik 24 30/1 Mipojoseon (QUE)
04 DC Bigger Mbala–Ekakia 31 104/10 Atletik
05 DC Foma Koshkin 23 0/0 Lhor (CMT)

14 DC Filip Mlinarevic 22 0/0 Liria
15 DC Nnamdi Lusamba 22 0/0 CDSA
16 DC Elmedin Suljic 25 5/0 Atletik
25 DC Adnan Sulejmanovic 28 52/2 Sabrefell Moths (NPH)
26 DC Alen Miokovic–Cica 22 8/1 Mar Sara (VAL)
27 DC Marko Mishatkin 30 5/0 Parakleion Firebirds (TKT)

A new-look back three for the Hoops, though two of the players involved are very familiar with one another having been first choice for a while. Bosko Pestotnik's career goes from strength to strength, playing in front of Besak at club level and really coming into his own. It feels like he has been around forever despite still only being 24. Bigger Mbala-Ekakia really has been around forever, it seems! He's into his thirties now and has over 100 caps, but he's still the key defensive lynchpin for club and country. His passing ability could be crucial against more stubborn opposition. Foma Koshkin plays on the right of the back three after a solid start to life in Chromatika at Lhor. He played in a back three at Atletik and should take to this formation pretty comfortably as a result.

Behind them there are lots of options, Filip Mlinarevic comes off a fantastic season domestically with Liria, earning 2nd place in the Under-23 Player of the Season award. Nnamdi Lusamba is the second Mytanar-Ketioulais player to make a national squad, the CDSA youth product remembers watching Bigger Mbala-Ekakia playing and viewing him as a real role model and now makes a squad alongside him. Elmedin Suljic is retained after a strong season domestically and some fine form in limited minutes with the national team. Adnan Sulejmanovic is still around to provide extra international experience and know-how, Alen Miokovic-Cica will want to compete with the likes of Koshkin and Lusamba to be the long-term Mbala-Ekakia replacement and Marko Mishatkin had a strong season domestically and is back once again to demonstrate his hard-nosed playing style, perhaps in Grigorij Savicevic's absence with the veteran calling time on his international career.

## Pos. Name Age Caps/Goals Club
06 DR Matija Gvardjancic 22 1/0 Crossroads (CMT)
17 DR Leontiy Korchagin 27 12/0 Chongjibo (NIX)
28 DR/C Petar Pejakovski 28 9/0 CSKA Quebec (QUE)

Matija Gvardjancic is a fantastic option to have in a formation which plays with wing-backs, his ability in the final third is very strong and he should be given licence to get forward in the majority of Mytanija's games, despite Ravnjak's reputation for defensive football. Leontiy Korchagin is around to provide a more safety first approach, now playing his football over in Naixi as NK Dyka undergoes some of the biggest changes in the club's history with manager and club president departing. Petar Pejakovski is an interesting option and one which might free up the left-sided wing-back and an extra midfielder to get forward due to his defensive ability. He might get a chance against stronger teams when Ravnjak wants an extra defensive body on the pitch.

## Pos. Name Age Caps/Goals Club
29 DMC Blazhe Gjorgjioski 30 11/0 NK Dyka
30 DMC Muamer Predojevic 26 0/0 CDSA

Not much to say about the pair of defensive midfielders, both only likely to be called upon for very specific roles such as acting as a midfield destroyer or coming on to close out matches. Blazhe Gjorgjioski is NK Dyka's eternal captain, it'll be interesting to see how greets Korchagin in national team squads after his departure from the Nastan club. Muamer Predojevic gets a call-up after some fine form at club level over a few years, he'd like to push Gjorgjioski over qualifying to try to become the national team's undisputed first choice option in this position.

32 MC Mirko Ovcina 26 15/3 Stahlburg City (NPH)
33 MC Ajdin Mujezinovic 22 0/0 Ararat

Mytanija's midfield options can be arranged into three categories. First you have the registas, such as Nurija Papez, Danilo Sevaljevic and Dino Horvat. These players will look to control the flow of matches and act as deep-lying playmakers for the team, spraying passes out to the wing-backs stationed high-up the flanks. Papez has been one of the finest midfield talents in Mytanija for a few years and will take some unseating as the starter, but Sevaljevic is a little bit more versatile and has more energy, he might be useful in games where Ravnjak would like to go a little more gung ho. For a long time Sevaljevic might have felt like neither of the national teams he is eligible for, Mytanija and Nephara, were going to call him up with both having strong and consistent midfield options. Ravnjak is giving him his chance here. Horvat gets his chance after excellent performances in an average Tekstil side, earning a move to Inter Nantwich in Tumbra as a result. He'll be an interesting option.

Secondly there is the box-to-box midfielders, the starter being Ismet Zmiric after his contributions to Aries Chariots exhilarating achievements in the Zenith. Zmiric has been rated highly for a long time but his rise to Nephara's best newcomer award demonstrates just how much he has kicked-on over the last year or so and he is rewarded by Ravnjak as a result. Behind him in the pecking order you have Alnio's Jasno Skenderovic, he's recovered from the terrible transfer saga which saw him leave Atletik and appears to be acclimatising to life in Chromatika. Then there is Mirko Ovcina, who has perhaps not kicked on quite as much as people would have hoped since moving to Stahlburg City, but his one-in-five scoring record for the national team (in limited minutes) is admired by Ravnjak and this recall could see him achieve his potential.

Then, thirdly, we have the number tens, the fantasistas. Denis Ovsyannikov leads the way with his remarkable goal scoring record of 17 in 31 appearances, but also with his nearly unparalled grace and elegance in possession, using his rangy frame to paint beautiful pictures and bully opponents out on the pitch. Jana Anusic is second choice and she will firmly be 'one of the boys' at this tournament, still the only woman to have pulled on the Hoops in the NSWC. She's had a bit of a journeywoman career over in Chromatika, where her reputation and stock is arguably much higher than it is in Mytanija, she's very highly-rated there and Ravnjak appears to agree. Finally there's a call-up for Ajdin Mujezinovic, a player Ravnjak is familiar with having coached him at Ararat before moving to the national team position. Mujezinovic can play all three of the midfield positions in this team, but there are many who believe he's another Ovsi type player and that Ravnjak will get the most use out of him in that role in this team.

## Pos. Name Age Caps/Goals Club
35 AML/ML Nenad Tejic 24 28/5 Lakewood City (TMB)
36 AML Luka Vujanovic 22 24/6 West Couno United (TMB)
37 AML/ML Tadej Roskar 21 6/2 Aries Chariots (NPH)

Ravnjak's formation does not call for wingers, but he - like most Mytanar coaches - likes to have several options in terms of formations and at the most recent Copa Rushmori he even employed a 4-4-2. There will be chances for these wingers as a result. Nenad Tejic is the most experienced down the left, a veteran of title-winning squads with 1923 Esca who found life a little more difficult over in Tumbra. Luka Vujanovic had no such issues, being Tumbran-born and scoring relatively freely for West Couno United and being slightly more prolific for the national team. Tadej Roskar might have the most potential of the lot, not yet a permanent starter for Aries Chariots but playing brilliantly in his 6 appearances for his country and nabbing two goals for good measure.

## Pos. Name Age Caps/Goals Club
38 AMC/MC Omer Kuhar–Arh 31 76/25 Brinemouth (NPH)
39 AMC Muharem Hajdarpasic 22 15/2 West Couno United (TMB)

Again, there are no specifically attacking midfielders in this team and therefore that might make it appear like Omer Kuhar-Arh and Muharem Hajdarpasic might struggle for game-time. Not the case, they can also slot into the most attacking midfield slot in Ravnjak's formation. Kuhar-Arh has experience of this role under Ravnjak from earlier in his career, playing in his Ararat side in a 4-4-2 and 4-4-1-1 formation. The 31-year-old is probably at the peak of his powers, maybe just about to hit the downslope, but his excellent record with the national team shows what he can do and Ravnjak will trust him from managing him in the past. Hajdarpasic comes with lots of off-field baggage, but his technical ability and penchant for drawing fouls makes him invaluable, if the 22-year-old can add more goals to his game then he'll potentially be able to match Kuhar-Arh's impact on Mytanar football.

## Pos. Name Age Caps/Goals Club

41 AMR Mirko Hranilovic 25 28/4 AFC Corvistone (NPH)
42 AMR/MR Vusur Rajovic 26 0/0 Chenoworth Harriers (NPH)

Just as is the case for the left wingers, the right wingers aren't going to start the qualifying phase due to Ravnjak employing a 5-3-2 formation, but we will undoubtedly see them at some point during qualification when Ravnjak wants to tinker or when injuries / suspensions begin to take effect. Milos Bajic is the first choice option, a safe pair of hands (or feet, more accurately), who works hard off the ball and who Ravnjak will enjoy working with. Mirko Hranilovic is a more aggressive option, constantly looking to get in behind and he adds more of a goal threat (although perhaps not something he has demonstrated with the national team). Then finally there is Vusur Rajovic, a player who has had a startling rise through the Nepharan leagues, playing third tier football not so long ago but now a fixture in the Chenoworth Harriers starting line-up and another dual national who is declaring for Mytanija with this inclusion.

## Pos. Name Age Caps/Goals Club
09 ST Drazen Skara 24 55/35 Sabrefell Athletic (NPH)
11 ST Damien Gannot 31 91/38 Sabrefell Athletic (NPH)

21 ST Fran Prpic–Bosanac 28 45/21 Bastion (EUR)
22 ST Miran Zakubovnik 20 0/0 Vantanoch (TKT)
43 ST Alija Sutalo 22 0/0 Newrook City (NPH)
44 ST Milica Prokopljevic 22 18/10 Atletik
45 ST/AMC Jezdimir Ocokoljic 36 188/116 Newrook City (NPH)

Potentially the strongest but most eclectic group of striking options Mytanija has had. Drazen Skara is a superstar at this point, a Testiculo and perhaps one of the best five strikers in the multiverse at the moment (Felixe Vetiver, Lavrentiy Xuen-Zhukov... Drazen Skara? It's difficult to think of many others at that sort of level). A real complete forward and one which defenders hate to come up against. He will be partnered by his Sabrefell Athletic colleague and Mytanija veteran Damien Gannot. Gannot will be the one who drops deeper in this pairing, looking to create chances for Skara and generally make a nuisance of himself. Fran Prpic-Bosanac is another false nine type, the 28-year-old has a very solid scoring level for the national team and will likely be rotated with Gannot.

There's a first call-up for Miran Zakubovnik, he helped himself to 14 goals in 27 appearances for Vantanoch last season and Misel Ravnjak believes he could be an eventual partner for Skara with his penchant for sniffing out chances. At the moment more of a poacher than anything else, but he has many years to add extra refinement to his game. Alija Sutalo is another member of the dual national army, coming through at Newrook City and learning from Jezdimir Ocokoljic, he's not exactly the same type of striker but that sort of mentor isn't a bad one to have if you want to be a well-rounded player. Milica Prokopljevic is more of a known quantity, tall and powerful, with a solid scoring record domestically and for the national team. He didn't enjoy his greatest season last time out, but Ravnjak keeps faith in him here. Finally there is Jezdimir Ocokoljic, with this run at qualifying likely to be his last ever with the national team. That has been said many times before, but this time it appears to be real, he's no longer a regular starter for Newrook City and word on the grapevine is that he may return to Mytanija at the end of next season. This will be a bit of a victory lap for him whether Mytanija qualify or not, but having his ability to come off the bench in big moments is no bad thing, either. He can still score from anywhere and his feet can still dribble magically, even if he does lack the speed he once had.

TACTICAL INFORMATION
OUT OF POSSESSION (5-3-2):
Out of possession Mytanija will be playing a fairly standard 5-3-2. The three central defenders will roughly occupy the width of the six-yard box across the middle of the penalty area, whilst the two wing-backs will be tasked with pressing up against the opposing team's widest players (whether that be wingers, central midfielders drifting wide, wing-backs or full-backs). If the opposition try to play centrally then the wing-backs will tuck in and the Mytanar defence will form a back-five across the width of the penalty area. The wing-backs are key in Mytanija's press, they are asked to push up against the opposition's wide players to prevent the opposition from being able to switch the play across the pitch and drag Mytanar players out of shape (failure to do this will provide the opponent with space down the flanks and then potentially create space centrally as players have to compensate for the Mytanar wing-backs' failure to do so).

The midfield three will be asked to shield their three central defenders behind them, occupying the space in the middle of the pitch and making it difficult for the opposition to play in these areas. They will not be asked to go out and cover the opposition's wide players, that is the job of the Mytanar wing-backs and if the midfielders have to go out and press the opposition's wide players then something has gone wrong in the system. Ravnjak essentially wants to create a 6-man 'box' in the space in front of his team's goal to make it difficult for the opponent to play here and prevent them from creating shooting opportunities. Mytanija's two forwards will press the opponent's defenders when they are in possession in the initial phase, but when the ball passes them one will drop in to assist the midfield, often only leaving one striker up on the halfway line as the other takes part in the defensive phase of the game.

IN POSSESSION (3-2-5): When Mytanija regain possession both wing-backs will be asked to be very adventurous and advance very high up the pitch to join a five-man attacking line alongside the two Mytanar strikers and most attacking midfielder or 'number ten'. The wing-backs will provide all of the team's width in attack. They will remain out on the touchlines and it will be the job of the striker on their side of the pitch and the 'number ten' or attacking midfielder (usually the likes of Denis Ovsyannikov, Jana Anusic or Ajdin Mujezinovic) to make underlapping runs inside them to provide a passing option or create space for a cross into the penalty area. Ravnjak makes great use of back-post runs, which can create opportunities for wing-backs to get on the scoresheet or to provide knock-backs across the box for assists.

The Mytanar regista (usually Nurija Papez, Danilo Sevaljevic or Dino Horvat) and a slightly more box-to-box midfielder (Ismet Zmiric, Jasno Skenderovic, Mirko Ovcina) will remain lying a bit deeper. The regista will look to recycle possession centrally and spray accurate passes out to the wing-backs to keep the opposition defence stretched. The more box-to-box midfielder will both need to remain vigilant to win the ball back quickly in the event of lost possession and make opportune late runs towards the edge of the box to create shooting opportunities. Both are important in maintaining Mytanar possession and preventing counter-attacks in Ravnjak's system.

The back three are fairly self-explanatory. The three central defenders will remain on the halfway line, pushing up high so the opposition are forced back into their own half (though they will drop back should Mytanija lose possession, in Ravnjak's system it is all about protecting the penalty area when you lose the ball), and will look to keep them there by reading the game well to stop counter-attacks and by using their physicality to bully opposition forwards. They will not usually be asked to do too much in helping build attacks, that wasn't the case at club level for Ravnjak, but with the higher quality available to him here he is likely to ask those more comfortable with the ball to perhaps play line-breaking passes into the forward line if the opportunity presents itself to them (the likes of Bigger Mbala-Ekakia, Foma Koshkin, Filip Mlinarevic, Nnamdi Lusamba et al are comfortable doing this sort of thing).

NOTES:
• Misel Ravnjak (aged 64)
has had a storied career as manager of Mytanar club Ararat Severyan, lifting two league titles as well as leading the team to its infamous National Cup and Rushmore Copa de Campeones double-winning campaign - considered by some to be the greatest single achievement by a Mytanar club side given the odds Ararat had to overcome to achieve such a feat. The Rauchik club had to overcome the horrors of the Mytanar Conflict, the ethnic cleansing and ghettoization of their people, deal with the long shadow of the conflict in the intervening years and Ararat acted as a constant for them - allowing them to dream once again. For many this essentially lionised Ravnjak, made him into the leader of a people, as well as a football club and his spirited, bordering on abrasive, personality allowed him to instil something of a siege mentality in his players. He always argued that he and his sides never got enough credit from the media for the manner in which they won games, arguing they played better football than the picture painted by the media (and they often did, with Copa Rushmori stars like Nephara's Lindse Kvasina and Mytanija's Omer Kuhar-Arh not renowned for their lack of inspiration or creativity) and that perhaps the media didn't want to give a provincial club the credit it deserved.

He also said that if he managed a more 'fashionable' side, he may have been in the picture for the Mytanija national team coaching job more often. The FSM always cited his direct media style as more of an issue than anything else, but they have finally turned to Ravnjak following Dzvezdan Kitanchev's disappointing spell in the hotseat. What can be said for Ravnjak is that his players have always loved him and he's always had unity in his teams, that might be what the FSM is wanting from him at this point in time. Ravnjak turned to some familiar faces at the Copa Rushmori, promoting Bosko Pestonik to a starting role, retaining Asmir Milosevic in the starting line-up, handing Neo Susec his first cap. He's a very loyal man and rewards those who are loyal to him, the Ararat connection might well run deep through his Hoops reign, whether it helps or hinders him remains to be seen. He has gone away from that a little for World Cup qualifying, but he has refreshed the squad significantly, moving to the 5-3-2 formation which he used most recently at club level and bringing in a number of newcomers.

• Mytanija has qualified to 15 World Cups, most recently World Cup 92, the country's biggest achievement in that competition is reaching the quarter finals in World Cup 68. Mytanija has won the Copa Rushmori once (XVII), to go with two victories in the Cup of Harmony (56 and 59); and a Di Bradini Cup win (DBC40). Some of these achievements were made under the names Mytannion/the Mytanar Region, Mytanija is ICly the exact same place.

• Mytanars are renowned for being passionate and therefore will not be afraid of confrontation if they feel they're on the end of a particularly rough tackle. At the same time Mytanars are not afraid of gamesmanship and may perform some questionable tackles of their own, along with tactical fouls to prevent the opponent from gaining momentum. Furthermore, diving, crowding referees and even intentional handballs (OOC: so Maradona's Hand of God and Suarez for Uruguay versus Ghana, that sort of stuff), to influence the game are not beyond Mytanar players. They will argue that winning is the most important thing and will do anything they can to achieve victory. Some might call it dirty, Mytanars don't, that won't stop them complaining when things go against them naturally.

• Mytanar fans are well-known for being hooligans, causing problems wherever they go and being prone to violence. They also make outstanding choreographies for their domestic sides and occasionally the national team (if they aren't fighting each other), so pyrotechnics, flags and lots of noise and alcohol are common place. Corteos (organised marches from a specific place to the stadium), are also common, these can lead to areas being shutdown as the sheer numbers of fans walking along roads block traffic and can lead to issues as police attempt to marshal supporters too. Given the ongoing political situation in Mytanija, whether ultra groups are able to put aside differences regarding politics, ethnicity etc for the national side is a pertinent question and the answer to it may change even from game to game.

There Are Expectations Now

The last time Milchamian National Soccer and/or Football Team had expectations was back in the 60s when we made a couple of World Cups in a row. Before that, it was probably in the 40s or so. Since the end of the Isolation the Warriors have had minimal expectations as everybody kinda hoped for the best but expected the worst. Well, I guess technically last World Cup there were expectations since we were a second seed and had made octofinals and all but this one feels different. Instead of it being a "we have a real shot here and we have some expectations" there are really at "The Cup of Harmony is a failure and we will destroy all of you if you don't do this minimum" which is frankly really nice. Let's expect victory! Expecting victory isn't just for baseball anymore!

This is especially true after an experimental Milchama side did surprisingly well in the AOCAF getting over our curse to do not terribly. So, all in all, things are looking up for the Warriors and Milchama in general. This feels like a good thing and we're pretty excited overall with the future of Milchamian football for the first time since like World Cup 37 which was so long ago that I only know about it through my great grandparents and a whole different alternative dimension where people apparently "RP" about fake sports competitions. That sounds super nerdy but we're not going to worry about it now as we reveal the Milchamian roster.

Coach: Darryl Lamarein - Lamarein was pro in something other than sports, namely an accountant, when he was asked to take over the finances of Mongol FC, then a third division side. After getting the finances in order he also noticed they tended to make more money and play better if they used different tactics with different players. He eventually convinced the GM to let him try that for one game. They won 6-0. They did it the next game, they won 6-2. Lamarein was then made coach of the Mongols where he led them to straight promotions. Then people got angry at him and had him manage the national team assuming that he would get paid for a do nothing job. Then the Isolation ended and now he's doing things. Now a minor legend and somebody who everybody looks up to for coaching advice in Milchama.

Lamerein plays the traditional Milchamian 3-3-4 with a +3 modifier.

Milchama plays most of their games at the National Stadium (אצטדיון לאומי) in Alexandria. 110,000 seats.

Starting Lineup:
GK: Morc Entersher - New kid on the block. His exploits for Chaialim in the league have become the stuff of legend. Takes the job over a retired Miles Inthracam.
D: Eric Hexidevorah - Not half of something but all of something. Eric is a great outside defender able to play on both wings.
D: Dervan Kelliers CB - One of the new young CBs that has risen through the ranks in Milchama. Many compare him to Wilson as young'un. Expect him to start very soon.
D: Theo Elkenstall - LB. Natural left footer known for his good crosses.
M: Kelly Filimitov - LM - Lefty dead ball specialist. Also very good at crosses.
M: Cal Kamet CM - The rare Milchamian attacking mid. Nobody really knows what to do with Kemet because they play in all sorts of weird spaces that don't traditionally exist in Milchama. Has led to them leading the goal scoring 2 of the last 3 years in the New Babylon league. They/them.
M: Amy Cekarn - RM - Defensive mid. With a new defense and midfield is in the team to provide more defensive spine.
F: Millie Kouriea - LF - Plays with Floren at club level. Her ability to link up with him on offense has led to mini revival for Floren in club football so they figured why not put her on the national team as well? It worked out so well that Floren is now on the bench and Kouriea is still in the starting lineup.
F: Avi Benbemore - CF/LF - He's the sephardic Avi Belmowitz, which makes him the Sephardic Alan Belmore. He will, probably, score all the goals.
F: Elliot Flok - CF/RF - Pure scorer. Has moved himself into the starting lineup as one of the few Milchamians who didn't suck during qualifying. Also Holden Flomes retired.
F: Colm Interlasskoti - RF - Was once Milchama's greatest prospect. Then Milchama's greatest bust and now, finally, at 26 in the starting lineup. They/them pronouns.

Bench:
GK: Ishtvan Martin - Second string
GK: LaDonte Crenter - Third string. He also occasionally plays left back.
D: Yosef Ben Bazar - CB While his dad might be weird, Ben Bazar is not. His no nonsense attitude translates into a lot of cards at time.
D: Clara Tresa - For a Milchamian defender has surprisingly good dribbling skills. Her offensive production though is stopped by her hard tackles.
D: Davis Clark - Big man who is good at headers.
D: Gal Dale - A wave of enthusiasm has been met with her inclusion in the national team. We are ready and not worthy for such a great defender.
M: David Wongstein - Started as a Discord joke. Is actually Milchama's most exciting midfield prospect.
M: Tiam Hotonon - RM - Led the Invading Crusaders to a surprise 2nd place and got himself into the national team picture.
M: Morris Maris - Fast tricky winger. Was decided to move back to the bench to help transition the team. He might just break back into the starting lineup soon.
M:Lars Ben Johnson - Despite the confused name, he is not a confusing player. A classic box to box midfielder who provides spine to the midfield while also ranging forward when he wants to.
F: Tzvi ben Yochanan - Fast goalscoring forward. Known for his long runs where he's just onside near the last defender.
F: Yoni Flominon - Incredible passing skills has led to multiple assist titles in the Karakorum League for Flominon. Moved up to Alexandria and immediately got a starting position for Jasper's Creepers.
F: Abby Goldshires - Outside striker who is known for her technical vision and skill. Still very young with a lot to work on.
F: Aiden McDavies - Has no idea what's he's doing here and we don't either. Will probably score all the goals.
F: Marc K. Floren - Not related to Marc J. Floren despite the name. Greatest finisher in the modern Milchamian league. Will be first off the bench.

The Archalitian Pirates

About the Pirates
The Archalitian football team, nicknamed the “Pirates” in accordance with the Pirate’s Republic, are a fledgling
team in the Football world. After finding massive success in the BoF, coming just short of the victory behind
Kirungabi, they proceeded to flop in the World Cup Qualifiers and failed to find any success in the coming
tournaments, including the Independents Cup where they went 0 for 4, completely losing their group. There is
nothing to do but to bounce back in this season’s World Cup, and with some massive roster changes since last
World Cup season, including multiple retirements of starter players, manager Krystol Mays is hoping that her new
roster will be capable of making a historic run in this years World Cup (or, at the very least, scoring an invitation
to the Cup of Harmony as the team had failed to do prior).

About Archalit
Archalit is a socialist state associated with The Pacific. After a recent regime change, the nation has begun the radical shift from an oppressive totalitarian state with closed borders to an open, friendly country with overarching social policies and libertarian left beliefs. As a result of this, the nation has become open to international sports among other activities. They are notable for their incredible unity and trust amongst one-another. The nation is massive, spanning the equivalent width of a supercontinent, filled to the brim with over 6 billion people where the population has since stagnated. The capital of Archalit is Charkara, the home of the gargantuan Archalit Olympic Stadium, housing a capacity of ninety-five thousand people.
Player Information
The Starting XI certainly looks quite a bit different than last World Cup, so there should be some coverage on what exactly has happened in each position.

To begin with, Roland Baker will be the goalkeeper as he was in the last World Cup season. However, the more astute among you may notice that it was actually Damien Looke who took over Baker’s spot as goalkeeper. Well, the Independents Cup went atrociously for a variety of reasons. The offense had no synergy, the defenders couldn’t play, and, worst of all, Damien Looke was letting balls in every game. Alright, maybe that’s a little harsh, but the point stands that Damien Looke is not ready for the Starting XI, so off to the bench he goes.

Now, these defenders are just the same as the last World Cup cycle, as with the goalkeepers. Our top priority is that our defenders can actually work together, as they failed to do in the IC-18, and no roster did better than the one in the BoF and WC93. So, It’s Nyx Phantasma, Hemera Note, and Myst Magica. Once again, there was Joe McKean from the IC-18 who took over Phantasma’s spot as the right-back. However, with the formation of the youth team and his under-performance in the Independents Cup, he has not only been stripped of his starting position, but he has left the team entirely in favor of playing in youth divisions for a period.

The only change in the midfield is that the young athlete Ethan San is on a sabbatical indefinitely after captaining the youth team in the Di Bradini cup all the way to the quarter-finals. He has stated that he plans to return to play in one of the next couple World Cup cycles, in either WC95 or WC96. Thus, we likely won’t be seeing him for the next while. To take his spot, Eloria Mizuki has been promoted to the Starting XI as the LM, alongside August Armburst at the right, Terry Yang as the DM, and the new captain Duke Sondas as the AM.

If you may remember from IC-18, the forwards have undergone massive changes since the 93rd World Cup cycle, as Jose Gee, Hazy Marbula, and Kanoa Faye all retired from professional football at the same time to pursue other sports. This left a hole that could be tested through the Independent’s Cup, and what we ended up with was a failing group of forwards. Dendou Riki, the 18 year-old highly skilled athlete, was recruited as a starter, and that went catastrophically with Lyndon Nightmare and Cynthia Harmonia at the front. The players had no practice with eachother, and what we ended up with was a group of players that practically didn’t know what they were doing. Dendou Riki went to pursue youth athletics for a period along with Damien Looke, and so Micha Sooza now has his time to shine. Fortunately, with more time together than the IC-18 team did, it is likely that this trio will actually be able to make some proper finishes in this tournament.

This is an updated roster post for the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers, taking into consideration injuries sustained during the Baptism of Fire tournament, which the Dantopian national team were unfortunately eliminated from in the Round of 16. The original roster post can be found here. Much of the necessary information is the same, but it will all be included in this post as well.

The Dantopia men's national football team represents Dantopia in international football. The team's inaugural appearance in the 2023 South Pacific Cup saw the Lions winning the competition, defeating Evinea in the final 2-1. Dantopia participated in Baptism of Fire 81 in preparation for its entry into the World Cup 94 qualifiers. The Lions were eventually knocked out in the Round of 16 stage by Kharakia.

Football in Dantopia

Image
Lion City Arena, the national team's
stadium
Football is the most popular sport in Dantopia, and clubs in the country number in the tens of thousands, organised into hundreds of leagues. The Dantopian Football Association (DFA) governs football in Dantopia, and Dantopia also hosts one of the South Pacific’s most popular and richest footballing leagues, the Dantopian Premier League (DPL), with a number of hugely rich and successful clubs taking part in the league.

Fans of the Dantopian national team are fiercely supportive, but also extremely respectful, noted for helping clean up stadiums after the end of football games. Just as this behaviour was observed in Trolleborg, where the 2023 South Pacific Cup was hosted, it is expected this will also be the case in Graintfjall and Kelssek, during the World Cup, should the Dantopians make it there. At home, clubs with intense rivalries contest derbies in which fan behaviour can sometimes unfortunately resort to a modest level of violence and crime. However, these derby rivalries rarely ever result in widespread or serious incidents.

Dantopia is home to many state of the art football stadiums, with the national team’s home stadium – The Lion City Arena – located in the nation’s capital, being the largest, with a capacity of 80,000. The stadium was recently renovated to increase the capacity from its original 60,000. The Lion City Arena also acts as a neutral venue for cup finals in Dantopia.

Crest

The crest of the Dantopian national team features a blue lion's face on a red and white shield. The lion is the national animal of Dantopia and is frequently used in Dantopian imagery and state symbols. Simplified designs of the crest with alternate colour-ways have been featured more recently, and appear on the current kits the national team sport.

Colours

Dantopia's traditional home colours are a navy shirt with white shorts and white socks. Traditionally the away strip is a reverse of the home; a white shirt with navy shorts and navy socks. A third uniform has been worn on occasion in recent years to prevent a clash in the event Dantopia play another team who play in blue and white, with this strip being an all red ensemble. The three uniforms therefore showcase the three colours of the Dantopian flag, red, white and blue.

Coaching Staff

Manager

Harold Northgate, Dantopia
Profile: 52y.o, 6'0'' (183cm)

Description: A Former Dantopian National Team Player, Northgate was a Centre Back by trade. Having held a number of managerial positions at smaller top tier clubs, Northgate took on the head coaching role of the under-21 National Team for a spell before being promoted to the First Team. Prior to the 2023 South Pacific Cup victory, Northgate was much maligned by the Dantopian press for his seeming lack of tactical nous in big games. However, Northgate is perhaps actually unfairly characterised by this, and has shown some tactical flexibility at times. Following his remarkable cup final win against Evinea, Northgate was hailed a national hero by the very journalists who had slated him previously. Northgate therefore enjoys a glowing reputation within Dantopian footballing circles today. He has also almost single-handedly made the waistcoat fashionable again. Most importantly however has been Northgate's ability to bring a united mindset to the Dantopian dressing room. The players clearly respect him and enjoy playing for him, and he has brought the best out of players like Jeffrey Danchevy, Gary McGoldrick and Lewis Shank.

Preferred Formations:
4-3-3 (single holding midfielder, inverted fullbacks, wide forwards)
3-2-4-1 (wide centre backs, box midfield, wide wingers and one striker)
4-2-3-1 (double pivot in midfield, free roaming number 10, wide fullbacks, inverted wingers)

World Cup Qualifying Squad

National Team manager Harold Northgate has selected a squad of 23 men to participate in the qualifying games for World Cup 94. Importantly missing is talismanic striker and usual national team captain Barry Paine, who suffered a broken metatarsal during the Baptism of Fire tournament. Below are the profiles of the members of the squad, including their positions, physical statistics, a brief description of their playing style and their various traits.

Goalkeepers
ImageJeffrey Danchevy (Portland Pacific, Dantopia)

Profile: GK, 29y.o, 6'1'' (185cm), 170 lbs (77kg), Right Footed

Description: Experienced man between the sticks. One of the better goalkeepers in the Dantopian Premier League albeit at a recently relegation-threatened club. His younger brother also plays for the team.

Traits: Sweeper Keeper, Comes for Crosses, Saves with Feet, Excellent Long Passer
Image
Rick Bishop (East Bay United, Dantopia)

Profile: GK, 31y.o, 6'6'' (199cm), 168 lbs (76kg), Left Footed

Description: Has emerged in recent years as one of the Dantopian Premier League's most reliable goalkeepers. He is Harold Northgate's most trusted back-up to Jeffrey Danchevy.

Traits: Sweeper Keeper, Comes for Crosses, Saves with Feet
ImageAlex Bullvale (Lion City Grenadiers, Dantopia)

Profile: GK, 25y.o, 6'3'' (191cm), 170 lbs (77kg), Right Footed

Description: Is yet another modern keeper Dantopia could deploy in net. Previously a goalkeeper for clubs flirting with relegation from Dantopia's top flight, his transfer to the Lion City Grenadiers has allowed him to showcase his skills and emerge as one of the better keepers in the division.

Traits: Sweeper Keeper, Comes for Crosses

Defenders
Image
Lyle Runner (Dartford City, Dantopia)

Profile: RB/CB, 33y.o, 6'0'' (183cm), 183 lbs (83kg), Right Footed

Description: Getting on in age, but still an immensely pacey full back, and extremely defensively solid, with an ability to cover at centre-half as well. Plays for one of Dantopia's most elite teams. Currently captaining the national team in the absence of Barry Paine, but only if Geoff Hendrickson isn't starting.

Traits: Natural Leadership, Lightning Speed, Long Throw-Ins, Excellent Slide Tackler, Good Crosser, Inverted Runs
ImageLewis Shank (Dartford Devils, Dantopia)

Profile: LB/CB, 27y.o, 5'11'' (181cm), 165 lbs (75kg), Left Footed

Description: On his day, an elite left back, but his form has sometimes fluctuated from season to season, this season has been one of his better ones, and has even shown an ability to cover at centre-back as well. Plays for an elite club in Dantopia.

Traits: Excellent Crosser, Good Long Passer, Inverted Runs
ImageJames Rock (Dartford City, Dantopia)

Profile: CB/DM 29y.o, 6'2'' (188cm), 168 lbs (76kg), Right Footed

Description: Versatile, ball playing defender from one of the top clubs in Dantopia. Recently Dartford City manager Sep Patroliola has been playing him in defensive midfield as part of a 3-2-4-1 lineup, and Rock has been flourishing.

Traits: Ball Playing Defender, Good Aerial Ability
ImageGary McGoldrick (Dartford Devils, Dantopia)

Profile: CB, 30y.o, 6'4'' (193cm), 220 lbs (100kg), Left Footed

Description: Tall, strong, amazing aerial presence, but prone to an error here or there. Currently struggling to find form for one of Dantopia's best clubs but trusted by the national team manager.

Traits: Ball Playing Defender, Good Long Passer, Excellent Aerial Ability
ImageRhys John (Lion City F.C., Dantopia)

Profile: RB/CB, 23y.o, 5'10'' (178cm), 192 lbs (87kg), Right Footed

Description: A strong and capable wing back, with great crossing ability, and the flexibility to cover at centre-half as well. Injury issues this season have hampered him, but he's healthy and raring to go for the world cup qualifiers.

Traits: Good Crosser, Overlapping Runs
ImageTyrell Bing (East Bay United, Dantopia)

Profile: CB, 30y.o, 6'5'' (196cm), 170 lbs (77kg), Right Footed

Description: A strong dressing room presence, and an elite aerial threat, but not as technically skilled as some of his other centre-back counterparts. A good bench option for Dantopia should the need arise for a defensive substitution.

Traits: Natural Leadership, Good Long Passer, Excellent Aerial Ability
ImageGlen Warmwell (Lion City F.C., Dantopia)

Profile: LB, 26y.o, 5'11'' (180cm), 170 lbs (77kg), Left Footed

Description: A solid back-up option to Lewis Shank on the left hand side of the defence. Slightly less defensively solid but much faster and more of an attacking wing back in his style of play.

Traits: Lightning Speed, Good Crosser, Overlapping Runs
ImageBukayo Yesterdi (Lion City F.C., Dantopia)

Profile: CB, 25y.o, 6'1'' (185cm), 174 lbs (79kg), Left Footed

Description: Promising centre-half that many are calling to replace McGoldrick in the starting line-up. For some reason or another the national team manager rarely picks him, but has been drafted in as a replacement player in the squad following the injury to striker Barry Paine. Perhaps he will grasp his opportunity in the qualifiers.

Traits: Ball Playing Defender, Good Aerial Ability

Midfielders
Image
Dani Spaghetti (East Bay United, Dantopia)

Profile: DM/CM, 24y.o, 6'1'' (185cm), 176 lbs (80kg), Right Footed

Description: Captains his mid-table outfit. Highly likely to make a big money move to a better club this summer. A classic ball winning midfielder, with good passing range.

Traits: Ball-Winning Midfielder, Good Long Passer, Good Aerial Ability
ImageBrent Bartholomew-Barnham (Portland Pirates, Dantopia)

Profile: CM/RB, 24y.o, 5'11'' (180cm), 152 lbs (69kg), Right Footed

Description: Has made the move into central midfield lately, and it is paying dividends. His abilities allow him to shine in this position better than at his previous full back spot. Elite crosser of the ball, but less defensively solid as a full-back. Plays for one of Dantopia's elite teams.

Traits: Excellent Crosser, Excellent Long Passer, Long Shot Taker, Free Kick Specialist
ImageEzra Cunningham (Seo Pyter FC, Uvalor)

Profile: CM, 19y.o, 6'1'' (186cm), 165 lbs (75kg), Right Footed

Description: Dantopia's most promising player, a true box to box midfielder. He will be world class very soon. Chose to move oversees to develop but will undoubtedly be drawing interest from clubs both back home, and abroad.

Traits: Natural Leadership, Box-To-Box Midfielder, Technical Dribbler, Good Long Passing
ImageGeoff Hendrickson (Portland Pirates, Dantopia)

Profile: CM/DM, 32y.o, 6'0'' (182cm), 176 lbs (80kg), Right Footed

Description: An experienced box to box midfielder and a very vocal leader from the bench for Dantopia. Will get some crucial minutes when the team is trying to protect a lead by controlling the midfield. Captains one of Dantopia's elite clubs and would be the natural captain of the national team in the absence of Barry Paine, but often doesn't start matches any more.

Traits: Natural Leadership, Ball-Winning Midfielder, Box-to-Box Midfielder, Good Long Passer
ImageKevin Peters (Dartford City, Dantopia)

Profile: DM/CM, 27y.o, 5'10'' (178cm), 159 lbs (72kg), Left Footed

Description: Was a star player for his previous club but ever since moving to Dartford City this past summer, hasn't been able to get off the bench. Still trusted by Northgate in international matches, but also as a bench option.

Traits: Ball-Winning Midfielder, Good Long Passer
ImageCliff Clamber (Lion City F.C., Dantopia)

Profile: AM/CM, 24y.o, 5'11'' (181cm), 163 lbs (74kg), Right Footed

Description: Academy graduate at Lion City F.C. but recent contract talks have stalled, leading to speculation of a move elsewhere. An attacking minded midfielder with excellent passing and set-piece skills, and very energetic in pressing the opponent as well.

Traits: Playmaker, Technical Dribbler, Good Long Passer, Long Shot Taker, Free Kick Specialist

Forwards
Image
Adebayo Adeyemi (Lion City Grenadiers, Dantopia)

Profile: RW, 21y.o, 5'10'' (178cm), 143 lbs (65kg), Left Footed

Description: Exciting academy prospect from one of Dantopia's better teams, who has burst onto the scene in the past few seasons and is now starting to show world class performances. Has made a significant step up in the absence of star striker Barry Paine from the national team.

Traits: Flair, Technical Dribbler, Cuts Inside
ImageMichael Danchevy (Dartford Devils, Dantopia)

Profile: CF/LW, 25y.o, 6'1'' (186cm), 154 lbs (70kg), Right Footed

Description: Pacey, prolific inside forward and younger brother of the goalkeeper. Has made the centre-forward position his own for the national team in the absence of Barry Paine, but plays it differently, constantly making dangerous runs in behind as nobody can catch him at full sprint. Has a glowing reputation off the pitch too with his charitable work. Watch out for him on free kicks!

Traits: Lightning Speed, Flair, Speed Dribbler, Technical Dribbler, Clinical Finisher, Long Shot Taker, Cuts Inside, Free Kick Specialist
ImageJason Sanchez (Dartford Devils, Dantopia)

Profile: LW/RW, 23y.o, 5'11'' (180cm), 168 lbs (76kg), Right Footed

Description: Technically gifted and promising winger who made a big money move back to an elite Dantopian club after plying his trade oversees during his development years.

Traits: Flair, Technical Dribbler, Playmaker, Cuts Inside
ImageWill Fodderingham (Dartford City, Dantopia)

Profile: RW/LW/AM, 23y.o, 5'7'' (171cm), 152 lbs (69kg), Left Footed

Description: Free roaming, silky smooth attacker and academy graduate from one of Dantopia's elite teams. Often has rubbish haircuts though, and sometimes has a reputation for the theatrical when challenged. Probably best deployed as a number 10 but is perfectly serviceable as a winger where he plays most frequently for his nation.

Traits: Flair, Playmaker, Technical Dribbler, Long Shot Taker
ImageRakeem Dollar (Lion City F.C., Dantopia)

Profile: LW/RW/CF, 28y.o, 5'7'' (170cm), 152 lbs (69kg), Left Footed

Description: Has achieved the feat of playing for the Portland Pirates, Dartford City and now Lion City F.C. His best years were winning league titles at Dartford City, and used to be a permanent fixture in the starting 11 of the national team, but his form has faltered and he now sits behind the likes of Michael Danchevy, Adebayo Adeyemi and Jason Sanchez. Still a great poacher in front of goal despite his diminutive frame.

Traits: Lightning Speed, Flair, Technical Dribbler, Cuts Inside
ImageManny Moses (Greenwich Park Rangers, Dantopia)

Profile: CF, 25y.o, 6'5'' (195cm), 190 lbs (86kg), Right Footed

Description: After failing to break through at Lion City F.C. with Barry Paine holding the starting spot there, he has recently moved to Greenwich Park Rangers, where he is showing his natural ability to find the back of the net. Despite this, the national team manager is often opting for Michael Danchevy over him at centre-forward as Moses doesn't offer the pace in behind Danchevy does, and Danchevy's form for club and country has been simply miraculous.

Traits: Flair, Excellent Aerial Ability, Clinical Finisher

Relevant RP Information

Team Tactics
Style Mod: +2.5

Style of Play:
Possession Based (the team normally average around 60%, or higher against weaker teams)

Inverted Full Backs (pack the midfield with passing options, keep the inside forwards wider, stretching the opponent's defence)

Set Piece Specialists (Excellent at set pieces all around, with strong headers of the ball, intricate corner and indirect free kick plays, and a number of players who can score easily from direct free kicks and penalties)

Sweeper Keeper (Goalkeeper comfortable in possession, acts as an auxiliary centre back when the team is in possession of the ball, and rushes off his line when appropriate to meet balls over the top or crosses into the box)

High Defensive Line (As a result of a possession based style and sweeper keeper, the defensive line is relatively high, squeezing opposition forwards of space between the defence and midfield)

Low Crosses and Cut Backs (chance creation is mostly created by the full backs and wingers who attempt driven crosses or cut backs for players inside - or making late runs into - the box)

Lobbed Through Balls (when playing on the counter attack, the team will often attempt lobbed through balls to the forwards who generally have the pace to beat the opposition defenders)

The South Americanastanian National Football Team's managers are made up of the best and brightest football minds (The Amerikanastaner half of) South Americanastan has to offer. After winning the National Derby between the country's two opposing FAs, the "national" side composed of almost entirely one ethnicity is managed by the capable mind of...

...Thys Smuts, a newcomer to managing on the national stage, but a grizzled veteran of domestic soccer, leading Fralaksai Rangers AFC to a victory in The Soccer League Cup 4 times in his 17 year long tenure as their manager. Selected to manage the SANFA side after the ethnic split in the Americanastanian Football Association, he lead the Amerikanastaner FA team to victory over the SASC team in the National Derby. He's helped by...

...His right hand man and protege, Adam Beaumont, acts as his assistant manager and chief advisor on football-related decisions. Beaumont is manager of Second League side Western Wanderers AC, having recently guided the former top-flight team to promotion to the second tier for the first time since 2004. With a lot to prove and even more to lose, Beaumont's hopes of moving to a top flight side in the near future rest on the national team's performance, and that can't happen without good goalkeeping, guided by the heavy hand of...

Goalkeeping Coach Pieter Klerk is a recently retired star goalkeeper, spending all of his 15-year football career with the Smuts-managed Fralaksai Rangers AFC, and compiling one of the best track records in the TSL guarding the net, while also possessing the TSL record for goals by a goalkeeper (4). He joins the team as the goalkeeping coach of TSL side Fort Elizabeth FC, coaching goalkeeper Barke Veldskoen to Freshman of the Year honors. And speak of the devil...

TACTICAL OVERVIEW

- DEFENSE is the name of the Americanastanian game. Sporting an intimidating backline able to smother opposing strikers, low scores are a trademark of Americanstanian football, especially that played by the Amerikanastaners.

- LAAGVOETBALL is what the Amerikanastaners call it, literally "Low Football", simplifying the beautiful game down to three phases: "Attack", "Defense", and "Transition". The side moves as unit in all three, smothering the opponent with all 10 outfield players in defense, rapidly pushing up the field in transition, and hammering the penalty box and goalkeeper with crosses and shots on target in attack, hoping to either win a set piece or force one into the net.

- Winning SET PIECES is a crucial part of the South Americanastanian play in the attacking third, with free kicks and corners presenting major scoring opportunities to the team. The value of being able to hammer home free kicks and corners is not lost on the team, allowing them to make up for open-field weaknesses.

- The KEEPER is expected to be the beginning of attack buildup when the team is in possession inside the defensive third, dishing the ball out to one of the widebacks to begin a push up the flanks.

- GRIT is the team's most valuable asset. Simply put, they're a pain in the ass to play. Whether they're up or down 7, they'll play you just as hard as if it was tied.

- The 4-4-2 is the team's formation of choice, good for counter attacking and defending. When counterattacking, one striker will slot behind another, creating a 4-4-1-1 style alignment, allowing the team to rapidly advance the ball up the pitch through a series of passes up the center "chain", culminating in a through ball to the lead man.

THE GROUNDS

Image

The PRETORUSBURG NATIONAL GROUNDS, affectionately known as "The Pret" is the home stadium of the South Americanastan National Football Team. Built in 1962, The Pret was one of the first major football stadiums to be built in South Americanastan intially seated 23,000, but after the construction of the Western (AKA Hillside) Terrace in 1984, it's capacity increased to 33,000. Since 1973, it has served as the home ground for Fralaksai Rangers FC, along with hosting many concerts and the TSL All-Star game.

The stadium is located in the suburbs of Pretorusburg, with the Eastern side of the stadium sporting a scenic view of Mount Vriberg and the communities that dot its slopes. Squad for World Cup 94

GOALKEEPERS
## Position Name Age Club
1 G Constance Creighton 29 Shamrock Cathair
13 G Curipurinho 29 AC Izotz Zubia
22 G Dalton Speare 28 Oljestaden IF
Audioslavian goalkeepers tend to be wild-eyed heretics, preaching forbidden sermons from the Gospel According to Saint Get Rid Of It Then?!. Your average Audioslavian goalie is about 6'1 max and more likely to punch crosses to safety rather than risk going for a catch. When the ball's at the other end of the field, Audioslavian keepers can be found strutting around the edge of their area like a peacock, shouting instructions at their strikers as if the speed of sound didn't exist. Current number one Creighton is 5'11 and stocky, quieter than usual but making up for volume shortcomings with his heavy use of violent sexual imagery when shouting. Audioslavia is a solid 6/10 for goalkeepers.

Centre Halves
## Position Name Age Club
2 D RC Everton Bolding 29 Sabrefell Moths
5 D C Sandy Harkness 28 Shamrock Cathair
6 D/M C Reuben Corkhill 32 KT Moreazerua
15 D C Valerién Tibère 28 1830 Cathair
23 D C Bartol Villanueva 25 AC Izotz Zubia
24 D C Obadele Volonte 36 Directus
Audioslavian centre halves are tall by local standards (5'10 - 6'2) but in international football are often lacking a bit of power compared to their opposite numbers. The tall, rangy Volonte, a last-minute call-up after he sneaked through a fitness test, is an exception here. He's assured on the ball, if occasionally lacking in concentration, and weirdly enough just quite nice a person. Audioslavians are 6/10 for centre-halves, which is one of the reasons Savigliane international Valerién Tibère was drafted into the squad the second his former nation dissolved.

Full Backs
## Position Name Age Club
2 D/M R Olavo Larrea 31 AC Izotz Zubia
3 D/M L Hernán Mata-Curie 30 1830 Cathair
21 D/M RL Orson MacGowan 27 Shamrock Cathair
Although historically a 9/10 position for Audioslavian teams, the current 'Post-Tiago Brown' era of full-backs aren't quite up to the usual standard. Mata-Curie has been bombing up and down the flanks for 1830 Cathair and the National Team for as long as anyone can remember, and Olavo Larrea has held a place down at AC Izotz Zubia for a few seasons, but neither are quite the diminutive six-lunged slaloming firecracker you'd expect at 2 and 3. Alaba may even opt to go for Everton Bolding at right-back for a little more solidity - the muscular 5'10 defender isn't afraid to get forward, but at the end of the day is more of a wandering centre half than your average Audioslavian full-back - a winger that can stay sober long enough to remember to pay his taxes.

Defensive Midfielders
## Position Name Age Club
4 DM C Iñigo Higgs 28 Cazadores Cathair
16 DM C Iker Munir 28 AC Izotz Zubia
20 DM C Gael Morea 28 KT Moreazerua
Alaba's insistence on having a versatile, all-action DM at Zozi has rubbed off on the national team, who tend to select at least three in each squad. Higgs is generally accepted as being the better of these three, but Alaba trusts Munir to play the water-carrier more than he does Higgs to play the spoiler. Bulls teams are typically 6/10 for defensive midfielders. For information on what happens when a nation of shithouses produces top quality defensive midfielders, please consult our entry on Brenecian Midfielders, which you might find under the subheading of Major National League Imports

Central Midfielders
## Position Name Age Club
7 M C Yuriorkis Stelea 35 KT Itzalovalle
8 M C Unai Cappadonna 31 AC Izotz Zubia
18 M C Gabriel Buvalelli 30 Osarese Marcadia
Audioslavian football is always a bit 4/10 for central midfielders. Cappadonna is a reliable playmaker, Stelea formerly a box-to-box midfielder but now more of a water-carrier. Buvalelli is the second of the Savigliano imports in this roster, and takes over the all-action role vacated by Stelea at the behest of his own knees.

Wingers
## Position Name Age Club
11 M L Marc-Antoine Trigintillion 24 Shamrock Cathair
14 M R Briareo Asaguirreiturri 31 KT Ferramendiak
17 M LC Ivan Molinar 29 Laivana JPS
Typically a 10/10 position for the Bulls, what with the national team's historical insistence on playing a counter-attacking game. Marc-Antoine Trigintillion, the bald-headed youngster at Shamrock, fits that mould, but is still finding more game time for the national team than he does for his club. Briareo was born and raised in Chromatika and therefore is much calmer and better at passing than any Audioslavian should have any right to be, while untested Laivana winger Ivan Molinar just stinks of 'here to make up the numbers'.

Forwards
## Position Name Age Club
9 AM/F C Helios Roy 28 Raynor City United
10 AM/F C Wilhelm Hielscher-Zendagorta 28 Cazadores Cathair
12 F C Gunner Laursen 25 Laivana JPS
19 F C Danil Lanziego 30 Osarese Marcadia
Audioslavian strikers are often solid 8/10s, and will almost always be listed with the numbers 9, 10, 12 and 19. Nobody really remembers why. Either way, Roy and Zendagorta are the main attractions here. The former won the league with Osarius Marcadia and now plies his trade for the Rawrcrush Cinematic Universe while you may have seen Wilhelm Hielscher-Zendagorta in an S+T shirt. Half Audioslavian, half Teus, WHZ just goes by the Audioslavian of his two names for the national team. Roy is the finisher, Zendagorta the all-action striker.

Style Modifier: -5
Penalties: Zendagorta (placement > power), Roy (tries to be too clever)
Corners: Asaguirreiturri, Mata-Curie
Free Kicks: Cappadonna (placement), Bolding (power), Mata-Curie (cross)

A possible starting eleven

Potted history
  • Audioslavia reached the finals of World Cups 12, 19, 20 and 29, losing all of them and gaining a reputation as a team that chokes.
  • After thirty cycles away, Audioslavia returned to win the Baptism of Fire before World Cup 59, won the AOCAF Cup in cycle 60 and then won back-to-back World Cups in cycles 63 and 64. That's the golden generation right there.
  • Things went back to normal after that. The side lost a few more major finals, including World Cups 67, 69 and 76.
  • Recent cycles have seen Audioslavia fall to the midfield in the rankings, failing to qualify for each of the last three World Cups. That disappointment has been offset by victory in CAFA Cup 3 and Cup of Harmony 83, both in Cycle 91.
  • Audioslavia is one of two nations to have won five major senior titles - BoF, CoH, WC plus two different regional championships. They recently became the only team in history to have recorded 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed finishes in each of the three WCC tournaments, plus regional competition.
  • Recently discovered in the history books: A regional tournament for the now-defunct FIFA region, held before World Cup 28. Audioslavia won this tournament, but do not consider it to be an official regional title unless Nepharans are in the room.

Style of Play
  • Post Football is the name given to Audioslavia's style of play. It's based on the idea that, the less the game resembles football, the more ill at ease your opponents will be. Audioslavia play dirty, sideways and overly cautiously.
  • Kontrapuntzeka is another word for it. Literally meaning counter-attacking, Audioslavia's national team are comfortable playing without the ball and charging forward in numbers when they do finally get it. Each player on this team has a deep understanding of how, when and where to attack on the counter. Losing the ball and allowing the Bulls to hit you on the break can be fatal to even the best teams in the multiverse.
  • Audioslavian managers have started trying to get the defenders to pass the ball around the back to entice their opponents forward. Audioslavian defenders hate this almost as much as Audioslavian fans.
  • Our footballers tend to be on the shorter, leaner side, with everyone outside of the goalie, centre forward and centre half topping out at about 5'10.
  • Audioslavian footballers are often tenacious, with the highest levels of stamina you'll see in world football. Audioslavian sides are often capable of playing at a high-tempo for long periods of time, and wins are often through attrition rather than skill.
  • Audioslavian teams are notorious for gamesmanship - the bending of the rules in order to gain an advantage. Players will taunt, feign injury, surround the referee, basically anything if it seems like it'd be beneficial. Audioslavians feel no shame in this. As far as they're concerned, their willingness to go further than the other team is a sign that they're more dedicated than their opponents might be. What might be considered dishonourable behaviour for you might be considered normal in Audioslavia.
  • Audioslavian teams fear losing. It's our greatest weakness and, given how this fear manifests itself in big games, a powerful irony
  • As well as lacking a bit of raw power, Audioslavian footballers often lack technique compared to their foreign counterparts.
  • Above all else though, what Audioslavian national teams often lack is heart. The worse things are going, the worse Audioslavians play. They're the classic bully. When things don't pan out as they expect, they retreat physically and mentally.

The Manager
Old enough to have been born in independent Ittuributa, formerly a player at Royal Association and Apox's Urbanista Trojans, when Alaba joined KT Itzalovalle for just $200,000 in the eleventh transfer window, he surely can't have imagined he would be calling Audioslavia his home for the next twenty-five cycles.

He stayed as a player for over ten years, making dozens of appearances in the UICA Globe Cup, IFCF Champions League and IFCF Challengers Cup. His own declining years coincided with that of his club, however. Limited to a handful of games, and arguably a handful more than he should have been playing as a 39 year-old, Alaba was relegated with Itzi at the end of National League Season 6 (current season: 23). Retiring early the next season, Alaba would find the managerial reigns of the club offered to him as it languished near the bottom of the second division, teetering on the brink of a humiliating descent into the third tier. Alaba scraped together enough points for an eighth placed finish, achieved promotion the following season and, after propelling his club to fifth and sixth placed finishes over the next two seasons, mounted a real charge for the title in season eleven, missing out on the league title to Cazadores by just two points.

With Itzi's board refusing to back Alaba further in the transfer market, the Astograthian would leave the club he'd spent seventeen seasons at before the start of season twelve in a shock move, joining area rivals AC Izotz Zubia, with whom he won a first league title in five seasons for the men in salmon and silver. Three more league titles, two Kirola Cups, two Tropicorp Super Cups would follow over the next eight seasons as Alaba built a side that finished in the top three in every single cycle he managed. Notably in season seventeen, his Zozi side finished a point behind his old club, KT Itzalovalle, a club who would perhaps not have been so competitive at the top had he not worked his magic there a decade prior.

Alaba left Zozi after eight seasons, lured by a not insignificant amount of money from the national team. His first cycle was a mixed-bag, exiting the CAFA Cup early and failing to qualify for the World Cup, but the fact that Audioslavia's performance in qualifying put among the top ten best teams in terms of points scored, and the fact that he managed to lead the side to victory against a stacked line-up of knockout opponents in the Cup of Harmony, means that many feel the future under Alaba is brighter than it had been under Styrn.

Nevertheless, Alaba's foreign passport hasn't enamoured him to Audioslavian fans who were already annoyed at him for managing a Zozi side that so often crushed their teams' dreams in domestic football.

This team
Yes, it's five at the back, yes, Alaba is conforming to Audioslavian football's natural defensiveness, perhaps overly so, but it's not just a parked bus. Wing-backs Mata-Curie and Larrea both maraud forward when possible, and the back three often contains Reuben Corkhill, a midfielder for his club, and occasional full-back Everton Bolding.
Furthermore, top strikers Helios Roy and Wilhelm Zendagorta have been deployed together after years of the Bulls opting for just one player up front. Both men started out their career as attacking midfielders. In other words: Audioslavia's supposed 'best eleven' contains nine players who initially broke onto the scene as midfielders. This is a side that can keep possession in midfield if necessary, just like AC Izotz Zubia used to. Whether they can do that well is still to be seen.

  • Helios Roy has become the fulcrum of the side's attack. First-person accounts of games are usually written through his eyes.
  • Wilhelm Hielscher-Zendagorta, a half-Audioslavian, half-Teus striker with caps for Siovanija and Teusland. S+T's departure from international football freed the striker up to represent another national team, according to the Valrauncion rule, and has duly been selected for Audioslavia. Styrn has generally opted for either Zendagorta or Roy up front, shying away from putting both strikers on the pitch at once.
  • Valerién Tibère and Gabriel Buvalelli are both Savigliano players who have been awarded Audioslavian passports following their claim for asylum after the dissolution of their home nation. Both have been selected due to the Valrauncion rule. The former is one of the most dependable centre halves in the league, while former FC Riziéres and Shamrock Cathair midfielder Buvalelli has been a star midfielder in the National League for nine seasons now.

Shorts for our change strip will be either purple (away), white (away, third) or Anaia Green (third)

Starting Lineup | Načetanniya Komanda

Radik Guzina: (GK) Standing at over 200cm, this goalie towers over the rest, and has the talent to back up his intimidating frame. While he's more than capable of challenging opposing players in the box - whether it be during corners or simply running up to snag the ball out from under their feet, Guzina's stamina is his biggest weakness. After a series of intense plays, he becomes visibly tired and his efforts on the pitch begin to dwindle. It is not uncommon for his coach to have to switch him out for a backup keeper midway through the game. Be that as it may, when he is on the pitch, he is a force to be reckoned with, and may be the Snovski's biggest asset.

Ostoya Novikov: (RB) Ostoya Novikov is one of the quickest people on the team. At the jump of a gun, he can burst into a full sprint and run the length of the pitch to challenge an opposing player. Unfortunately, he lacks the finesse to lead an offensive play down the right flank, however he is an asset to the defense and spectators often enjoy watching his speed as he flies down the pitch at any given time.

Vukasin Kovalčuk: (CB) One of Snovki's biggest advantages is the height of their players. Vukasin Kovalčuk is among the taller players as well, standing at 190cm. He often shows great strength when challenging opposing players and is often brought up to the opposing team's goal when corner kicks or free kicks are taken. On the other hand, Kovalčuk is one of the slower players on the Polkopian side and often gets bested by some of the more agile forwards he is up against.

Danila Markov: (CB) Danila Markov is the other starting CB for Polkopia, and, unlike his counterpart, his main strength is his strategic eye. He seems to know where everyone on the pitch is at any given moment and is often able to predict when players are about to pass the ball. He is great at intercepting the ball and snuffing out opposing teams' attacks in his half of the pitch, but has often been called selfish when possessing the ball, as he seldom passes it up the field to advance the play. Instead, he will find himself dribbling up the pitch, slowing down the Polkopian counterattack.

Yulian Bukharov (LB) The last of the starting defenders for the Polkopian National Team, Yulian Bukharov finds his strength, like his fellow fullback, is that he will run up and down the length of the pitch at any given moment. Unlike Rudin, however, he seldom gets tired after running around the pitch all game, and is one of Polkopia's more reliable defenders in this matter. He has great awareness as well, and is able to intercept many short, quick passes and start a Polkopian counter-attack. His downfall, however, is his strength. Many in the Premier League have accused Bukharov of freely diving upon feeling his opponent on his back, but in reality, it's the fact that he often runs fairly clumsily and is subject to being thrown off of the ball fairly easily.

Leonid Vikhrov: (CDM) Leonid Vikhrov recently emerged in the Polkopian Premier League as one of the top contenders for most valued player (MVP) in the entire league. Though his domestic team, FK Akasov Orešek, has just had their most successful season in the club's history, finishing 5th, many point to Vikhrov as one of two players who carried the team to this title. Vikhrov has done so with his balanced approach, and many can't seem to find a weakness in his game. He attacks when needed to, defends when needed to, and has superb technical school when in possession of the ball. He will be one of Polkopia's hardest players to counter.

Nil' Siyantsev: (RM) A powerhouse of a player, Siyantsev is known throughout the Polkopian Premier League for his powerful boot. It's no wonder that he was selected as the free kick taker for the Polkopian side, as he can target the goal from halfway across the pitch and still make the opposing keeper struggle to keep it out of the net. Unfortunately, he has been known to be a bit of a diva on and off the pitch, so his chemistry with some of the other players may be called into question during this tournament.

Igor Ostrovskiy: (CM) Back home, Ostrovskiy plays for Olympik Restnov who just won their second title in the club's history. At the end of their successful season, Ostrovskiy earned the "Golden Boot" award from the league - the most prestigious award for a footballer in Polkopia, and it came as a surprise to no one. He led the team in goals scored, despite playing as a midfielder, and was an integral part to every attack the team had all season. In previous seasons, he has been known to be prone to injury, so the Polkopians will be looking to keep him healthy this tournament or risk losing one of their strongest players.

Yelisey Krutin: (LM) A midfielder from FK Valinkova, this team is often regarded as having the best overall midfield in the Polkopian Premier League. Krutin's contribution to this is not lost on fans, however, as he has often displayed some of the best positioning out of players in similar positions as him, as well as running some of the most crucial routes in order to pursue some of the more dangerous attacks for his side. For his domestic side, he plays a more offensive role, having been the target of some of his teammates' key passes leading up to goals for his side, however in this role, he is expected to provide a majority of crosses into his opponent's box. This will be quite an adjustment for Krutin's playstyle, however one can expect that he will still be the recipient of plays set up by the midfield, before eventually crossing it to the attackers in the box.

Ilya Savrasov: (CAM) Another midfielder from Olympik Restnov, Savrasov's chemistry with fellow teammate Ostrovskiy cannot be unmatched. Though in CAM role, Savrasov seldom leads the attack. Instead, he plays a valuable role as support player, and racked up the most assists in the league last season. His willingness to feed the fall to his teammates and skill in doing so cannot be unnoticed. This is a double-edged sword though, as Savrasov has often lacked the confidence to take shots on goal himself, even though it's clearly the best option.

Denis Rozovskiy: (FW) Finally, the starting striker for the Polkopian side - Denis Rozovskiy, who played a vital role in his domestic team's escape from relegation this past season. His pinpoint accuracy when delivering kicks in and outside the box often kept his team ahead, even when his defense failed him. He has often been traded around the league and can adapt to nearly any play style, often gelling with any team he is put on. At 25 years old, he is one to watch out for in future tournaments, and will certainly look to build a name for himself during the World Cup.

From its establishment the team is always comprises of all men players. It is governed by Pemecutan Football Association, the governing body of football in Pemecutan. It has never win any major international competition.

Their participation in World Cup Cycle started at Baptism of Fire 76 where they ended in the Group Stage. In the 89th World Cup, the team manage to qualified for the first time where they were ended in Round of 16 after being defeated by Squidroidia. Their best performance was during WC 90th where they reached final for the first time in the teams history. They were defeated by The Holy Empire in the final. The latest WC 93 saw their worst World Cup proper performance when the team end their campaign in the group stage. However, the win against The Holy Empire in the third group stage match save the humiliation felt by the fans. The win was felt as a revenge after the defeat at the 90th World Cup final.

In regional level, the team have manage to reached Semifinal in 9 consecutive Mandalanusa Cup (formerly Melayu Archipelago Cup). From that, their best performance was during the 6th, 7th and the latest 11th edition where they manage to finished as runner-up, defeated by Sharktail, Southern Palm Islands and Tecoia respectively. Their often surprised defeats from lower ranked or newcomer nations in the region makes them being dubbed with Pemecutan Cursed. The latest defeat against Tecoia was so upsetting that the supporters rioting in the host's stadium. This incident makes Pemecutanian supporters are banned from CMFA sanctioned events. In the latest 12th edition, Pemecutan had their worst result in the their participation history. They were defeated by the comeback team of Soracana Islands in quarterfinal. The result leads to a riot in Pemecutan big cities such as Ubung, Mengwi, Jematang and the capital, Pemecutan Puri. In the latest edition of Mandalanusa Cup, the country managed to win their first international trophy after defeating Southern Palm Islands in the final.

The manager noted that he had a hard time to decide who will be called as the players were playing quite good in the qualifying round. After the announcement of Pemecutan Men's National Football Team squad, some names are indeed missing. Agus Setiahadi and Pandu Oka Jaya as example of the missing names. Below is the complete list of Pemecutan squad with the blue highlighted names are the expected starters.

Please assume YES for all answers in the Permission Box – just TG me first if it's particularly insane and/or egregious.
Ages are at World Cup XCIV Finals; please subtract two years for first half of qualifying, one year for second half.

KRYTENIA 2310 WORLD CUP SQUAD
Modifier: +3

Image
Beginning their football journey way back in the second Baptism of Fire competition, Krytenia are one of the oldest national teams still competing in international football. With five World Cups hosted, as well as a smattering of AOCAFs, Cups of Harmony, Baptism of Fires, and even a CAFA Cup, they also have a deserved reputation for organising top-level football competitions. What they don't have, though, is a reputation for winning. They are yet to win a World Cup; in fact, they have only reached one final, losing to Aguazul in World Cup 58. Five semi-final defeats are what set the tone for the Dragons – indeed, losing in the semis of a major competition is known as the “Krytenian Curse”. That said, there is silverware in their cabinet. Having created the AOCAF Cup, Krytenia eventually won the fifty-second iteration of the competition; more recently, they won Cup of Harmony 78 and nearly added a second two cycles later, losing to fellow co-hosts Græntfjell on home soil. A third major trophy took a while to come, but with victory in the sixth CAFA Cup the Krytenian team joined the small band of nations who have won two different regional competitions.

They may have a reputation as the multiverse's nearly men, but never let yourself be deluded that the Krytenians are defeatist. Even though they may come up short, it's a very rare thing to see a Dragons team simply give up. Be aware that when the sky blue shirts are on the field, you will be in for a tough game, and victory will always be hard-earned.

Image
Manager – BRELK-XERAL Erv (QUS), Age 68
Started their career in their native Qusmo, where they brought first KF Atlov and then Atlov Juzuna to prominence (or at least relevance) in the domestic and international game. This led to them getting the national team job at Brenecia, which resulted in a Campeonato Esportiva trophy. After some initial promise, the team appeared to have hit a plateau; not only that, but for CAFA VI “BXE” had the additional challenge of being without assistant manager Graham Lawton, whose neurological ailment has forced him into full retirement. It mattered not, however, as the wily Qusmi guided the Dragons to their third-ever piece of major silverware.

Assistant Manager – Tommy WARREN, Age 33
A persistent knee injury may have curtailed Warren's career before it even started, but it hasn't dulled his enthusiasm for the game. BXE saw his work with Bradwell Saints' academy team and suggested the young coach to the KFA. Taking a leaf from his Qusmi mentor's book, Warren is made his mark at the Under-18 World Cup, guiding the teenagers to a fourth-place finish. Fresh from that experience, Warren will be learning at the feet of BXE, following Graham Lawton's illness and forced retirement.

Goalkeeping Coach – Aaron SHEPHERD, Age 50
Defensive Coach – Andrew THORNTON, Age 63
Offensive Coach – Alex VINELLI, Age 55
Physiotherapist – Julian GRANT, Age 40

Amanda BACH
Age: 25
Position: Goalkeeper
Club: Caversham

Given Krytenia's non-segregated approach to football and the nation's propensity for producing talented goalkeepers, it's perhaps surprising that Bach is the first woman called up to the national side. The Caversham stopper seems to be made up entirely of limbs; her teammates have steered into this skid by nicknaming her “The Black Widow” - after the spider, before anyone asks.

Image

Louis KENDRICK
Age: 28
Position: Goalkeeper
Club: Royal Emberton

Kendrick is tall. Like, ridiculously so. Measuring up at 7'2”, and with hands like shovels, the Royals stopper is an imposing figure in the goalmouth. That said, he has a tendency to parry rather than catch the ball cleanly.

Image

James BOGDANOVIC
Age: 22
Position: Goalkeeper
Club: Oustia

One from the James Orwell playbook, Bogdanovic seems happier with the ball at his feet rather than in his hands. Don't be fooled, though, as the Oustia stopper is still a reliable shot-stopper.

Image
Image

Justin DARCY
Age: 28
Position: Right-back
Club: Mercia Bromham

Bombastic wing-back who fits right in with BXE's attacking philosophy. Looks more comfortable with the ball at his feet than trying to win it back off opposing wingers.

Image

Harry LEWIS
Age: 22
Position: Left-back
Club: Dereapolis City

Bags of pace and excellent positioning. Lewis does tend to see tackling as a last resort, and is happier guiding opposing wingers down a cul-de-sac instead.

Image

Robert GORMAN
VICE-CAPTAIN
Age: 29
Position: Centre-back
Club: Bradwell Saints

A thinking man's defender, Gorman is a calm head at the back. Not the best in the air, but makes up for it with accuracy in the tackle and excellent distribution.

Image

Derek HIGGINS
Age: 26
Position: Centre-back
Club: Emberton Hibernians

Speedy centre-back who could, in another life, have been a box-to-box midfielder. An absolute rock for Hibs, and should complement Gorman's more cerebral style nicely.

Image

Kristian AMARI
Age: 24
Position: Left-back
Club: Neathill

Amari likes to keep wingers neutralised out wide, but looks vulnerable when forced inside.

Image

Malcolm KIRSTEN
Age: 31
Position: Centre-back
Club: Royal Emberton

A fan of the “Sarzie Rules” version of handegg but lacked the skillset for that sport. Transitioned to football when he discovered he was pretty good at kicking the round ball; linebackers make for good defenders, apparently.

Image

Leon JONES
Age: 22
Position: Centre-back
Club: Ousevale Borough

Coming through the ranks at the Southern Arena at such a young age is no mean feat. Jones, though, looks like the real deal. Excellent read of the game and metronomic timing in the tackle.

Image

Geno FOSTER
Age: 20
Position: Centre-back
Club: Ashton Olympic

Impressed in Krytenia's run to the Under-18 World Cup semis; speedy and good in the air, still working on getting his positioning on point.

Image

Lucas CAMARA
Age: 22
Position: Right-back
Club: Caversham

Cultured wing-back, comfortable both in tracking back and with ball at feet. Loves an overlap.

Image
Image

Savannah QUINN
CAPTAIN
Age: 33
Position: Central midfield
Club: Straudum VV (KOR)

Surprisingly few women make it into the national team squad, despite Krytenian football not being gender-segregated. Quinn is absolutely here on merit, though, and in the World Cup 92 qualifiers became the first woman to captain the side. An absolute dervish with the ball at her feet.

Image

Jules RENARD
Age: 25
Position: Right midfield
Club: Beckton Supermarine

Tormalay-born winger snatched from CFF Monthuez's squad as a teenager by the Mariners. Flies down the right flank with strawberry blonde locks flowing; will almost certainly make a mint advertising shampoo at some stage in his career.

Image

Owen HALLER
Age: 26
Position: Left midfield
Club: Emberton Reds

Free-kick specialist and deadly accurate in the pass. Having Lewisin the wide positions behind him should allow Haller to cut inside and create havoc in the middle of the park as well.

Image

Esteban SALVADOR
Age: 25
Position: Central midfield
Club: Avidia United

The latest in a long line of Krytenian central midfield puppetmasters. Salvador looks so at home with the ball at his feet, you're expecting him to be playing in tartan slippers. Offers a dead-ball alternative to Owen Haller as well.

Image

Zachary LYONS
Age: 28
Position: Central midfield
Club: Stanton Town

Insert inevitable comparisons to Cormac O'Neill here. To be fair to Lyons, though, he sprays the ball around with eyebrow-raising levels of accuracy.

Image

Anthony KING
Age: 22
Position: Left midfield
Club: Notegia Rangers

A talented back-up to Owen Haller, King has in comfortable dribbling past opponents or whipping in a teaser.

Image

Andrew KIRSTEN
Age: 20
Position: Right midfield
Club: Royal Emberton

More of a right-sided forward than a true right winger, Kirsten prefers beating a defender inside. Expect him to support Williams in the middle when the ball is with Haller. No relation to Malcolm, by the way.

Image

Emmanuel CURIE
Age: 22
Position: Central midfield
Club: CFF Monthuez

Talented ball-playing midfielder with an eye for a free kick. His more forward-minded play compliments the ball-winning style of Quinn or Gabriel nicely.

Image

Darren GABRIEL
Age: 23
Position: Central midfield
Club: Royal Emberton

Ten thousands terriers in a human suit. Will chase down anyone with the ball in range. Also has a good eye for a pass.

Image
Image

Greg WILLIAMS
Age: 25
Position: Half-forward
Club: Ousevale Borough

Diminutive (5'6”) attacker, good close control, bags of pace, finds space well, general pain in the backside for defenders. Or, in other words, pretty much every Ousevale forward ever, only shorter.

Image

Angus JACK
Age: 28
Position: Striker
Club: Katashi-Kanatsu (KOR)

In the words of the Cyan Army:

“He's just A. Jack in the box, from the region with a fox, and he can score just about anything....”

Image

Gil SANCHEZ
Age: 27
Position: Striker
Club: Avidia United

”El Tiburón” (The Shark) to his team-mates, Sanchez is always on the move looking for a juicy morsel of a pass to get his teeth into. Can be “a bit” tempramental, in the same way that Jupiter is “a bit” big.

Image

Ryan COSTELLO
Age: 20
Position: Half-forward
Club: Avidia United

Very much a “do-it-all” forward, happy to play as the focal man or as a false nine. Happiest with ball at his feet, looking to give defenders migraines.

Image

Reece KLAASEN
Age: 23
Position: Striker
Club: Aigburth Athletic

Apex predator of a striker, seems to find a way to get on to any ball delivered into his general area. A useful skill considering the bunch of cloggers he has to deal with at Aigburth.

Image
Image
“System Erv”, named for...well, take a guess, is on the face of it a 4-2-3-1. With the Krytenians on the ball, however, expect this to change quickly to a 4-2-4 as the second line pushes up to support the striker. The two holding midfielders will be the fulcrum of the attack; expect the ball to move quickly between light blue shirts, especially on the counter. Press, pace, and overloading and overwhelming opposition defences will be the order of the day.

Off the ball, Krytenia will play a high line; they may be vulnerable to balls over the top – if opposition attackers can time their runs to avoid the offside and beat the Dragons' defenders for pace.

The Beaucester Gazette
No Alarms and No Surprises - Porras Announces Squad
High expectations for young team

Decisions - Butler retired, Garavkos ahead of Silver in contrast to club, Wilton not picked as 3rd choice a non-starter.
Andrew Awfield dropped - Albrook impressing

Porras finalised the decisions around his squad to take forward to World Cup qualifying, announcing the 26 names he will be selecting from. Little surprise came at the majority of his selection calls, with the youth revolution he has continued from Massi heading towards its final stages.

In goal comes the biggest departure, as Earnest Butler finally hangs up his gloves on an international level, whilst he drops down to the Ko-orenite second tier to see out his playing days. A talented shot-stopper, and Elmyia's current all-time caps leader, there were big gloves to fill. With Porras wanting a keeper capable of good distribution it was Garavakos who gets the nod, ahead of Silver who plays ahead of him at club level. Silver has been a long term national number 2, but her shot-stopping means she will continue to hang around in case of penalty shootout. The nod for the third slot goes to veteran Mikou, known to be a good voice around the dressing room.

Elsewhere in the team and there are two more notable changes, although they simply confirm what we already know. Jenny Scoular drops to the bench for Beresford. If you need an explanation as to why, you simply need to look at their relative assist haul. Scoular might be relatively comfortable pushing forward for an old-fashioned full-back, but Beresford is fearless, taking three times as many assists in 26 fewer caps. Beresford is expected to be subject to some serious interest from bigger teams if Scolastico don't convert their considerable promise into an IFCF position. Additionally, Savalas comes in permanently for Freschi with him off injured, it will be interesting to see who would start should he make a decent recovery from injury. He remains in the squad list more in hope than expectation.

Of the teams star performers, all eyes remain on Simmons, Froggatt and to a lesser extent Whittingham. The latter two have endured trickier seasons abroad, perhaps a necessary cost to bear if they wish to develop their game beyond what is offered in Elmyia. Simmons, however, remains a cut above and inherits the captain's armband. He was outstanding for AS Samita, providing ample leadership and defensive nous in a side that only wished to attack. Bagging them their biggest pot yet, with the Island Trophy, was the perfect send-off for a player their fans had learned to cherish. With his near unblemished injury record, the talented Aaron McLoughlin and the young and upcoming Anya Trespense must be wondering if they'll last long enough to get a serious number of caps.

Elmyia currently possess their most well-rounded squad since emerging on the international scene, and with this expectations have risen. Porras has clearly evolved the team past hoping Froggatt could simply make the difference, but it remains to be seen if his system can bag the results to make a qualification charge. With an under-18s final reached alongside the u-21s winning the Di Bradini Cup there is talk of a golden generation of youth set to emerge on the scene. Currently we are waiting on a few more to break into the squad, but in a team laden with youthful vim, Elmyians expect to be entertained and to make a stab at qualification.

Usual Starting XI

1. Ian Garavakos - Goalkeeper - 21yrs - Italia Mosfleet Image - (1 Cap; 0 goals, 0 assists)

With Butler receiving his international send off, time has come for Garavakos to step up to the plate. A promising young keeper, this feels a somewhat unorthodox selection given that he's not even 1st choice at club level. Silver keeps the no. 1 jersey at Italia, but this comes down to manager's preference. Porras wanted to evolve the style of the team, for all Butler's heroics as a shot-stopper, he was not good with the ball at his feet, often sending goal-kicks out for a throw. Garavakos' shot-stopping is solid but unspectacular, whilst he exceeds Silver with the ball at his feet. His short passing is consistent, his long-passing about average, either way it'll allow Elmyia to play out of the back. He didn't impress much at the Eagle's Cup, but his form during AS Samita's outstanding season may prove a guide to what he can offer the team.

2. Sofia Katsouranis - Left-Back - 27 yrs - Urrhed FC Image - (47 Caps; 4 goals, 11 assists)

Katsouranis has always been a solid performer at international level, and Urrhed FC certainly saw some of this as she scored in the crucial relegation play-off. It wasn't the best start to life abroad, having come from a team challenging for titles, but she remains a player trusted by every manager she's played under. Kept from the left-wing slot by Froggatt, she'll again be expected to adapt her natural game. Porras gives her plenty of licence to get forward and play wide, letting Froggatt get into central positions. That's left her looking somewhat defensive exposed at times, especially at the Cup of Harmony. Hope remains that the work of the midfield will mitigate this somewhat. Her assists record has stalled somewhat since moving positions, from 8 in 30 to just 3 in the last 17, she'll be hoping she can get her attacking output back up to where it was.

3. Maria Grosso - Centre-Back - 29 yrs - Hellenic SC Image - (62 Caps; 3 goals, 0 assists)

An aggressive, front-foot defender, it's an open secret that if things were different she'd be sat on the bench. But, with the pipeline of defensive talent somewhat dry, and Mario Freschi finding his way back from injury, Grosso will be anchoring the defence. She comes off a solid season for Hellenic, playing a crucial role in helping them to their first piece of silverware in a long time. Playing the key role in the centre of defence, she put in a shift in the final rounds to keep Italia's and Samita's forward lines quiet. However, questions remain over her ability to play in a back 3. She loves to chase the ball, press up to tackle and intimidate centre-forwards. But, in Porras system, this leaves space. It remains to be seen if she can show the sort of positional discipline required.

14. Nancy Savalas - Centre-Back - 20 yrs - Vilitian League Image - (36 Caps; 2 goals, 1 assist)

Savalas always looked a defender of real quality, and playing a bit part for the national team was viewed as part of her path to becoming a regular starter. It wasn't anticipated that she would need to step up so quickly. Mario Freschi's horrendous injury runs on, having collided with Finn Hurps' Kronquivst he is due to return to regular football a few games into the Elmyian season, it remains to be seen if he will be the same footballer. Porras is lucky that Savalas already embodies a lot of the studied cool her provided on the pitch. Her recovery pace, her intelligent reading of the game and her patience in contrast to the hot-headed Grosso make for the perfect player to slot into the backline. Her young age may excuse any lapses, but in a system where she'll be repeatedly exposed she may have to actively defend more than she is accustomed to.

17. Jane Beresford - Right-Back - 23 yrs - Scolastico Image - (30 Caps; 0 goals, 9 assists)

After an outstanding domestic season, Beresford displaces Scoular in the right-back position. Flying forward at will, often playing more as a winger, she has the reckless attacking abandon that the Juven coach demands. Pacey, a strong crosser of the ball and entirely unbothered by accusations of not tending to her defensive duties, she's got the potential to be electric. She was indeed for Elmyia at the DBC 54, proving a key player in an historic victory. She also has the tactical intelligence to work in a system like this, at club level she works with a fluid front line that plays front foot football. Teams will have acres of space available to attack in behind her however, Scolastico found this to their detriment in several games last season, particularly facing Paula Kidd's Albion side.

6. Kit Simmons (Captain) - Defensive-Midfield - 20 yrs - Kingston FC Image - (29 Caps; 1 goal, 1 assist)

Simmons, at the tender age of 20, has cemented himself as potentially the most important player in the national team. Following a rapid fire promotion to the starting lineup, he's frequently been the one good thing about Elmyia's midfield. Captaining his AS Samita side to an Island Trophy has earned him a joint record move abroad, going to Kingston for $5m. He's hoping to build a more attacking side to his game, his range of passing almost goes unremarked upon amid his defensive brilliance. But, for Porras side, he's likely to primarily cover the defensive brief. With so many players bombing forward, he'll sit with the centre-backs to cover, if he gets the ball in space he will hit the odd switch ball, but he will be limited to operating in his own and the middle third. His rapid ascent to captain comes as little surprise to those who know him, with a fully deserved reputation as a considered, quietly authoritative leader.

19. Valentina Galli - Centre-Midfield - 22 yrs - Litala 93 Image - (44 Caps; 7 goals, 7 assists)

The box to box dynamo of the team, Galli sits just short of the world class members of the squad, but remains certain to start every game she is available. Her new club, Litala 93, suffered a difficult season, finishing safe but well short of expectations, but with ample starts Galli has continued to learn and develop. For the national side she certainly has continued to perform, in her last 34 caps it reads 6 goals and 5 assists from midfield, making her one of the team's more productive players. She remains a fizzy presence on the pitch, she is one player you can rely on to not go missing and continue trying things, even if Elmyia appears to be struggling. Her 89th minute winner for Elmyia in the historic 3-2 win over Pasarga was evidence of this.

10. Sam Depel - Attacking-Midfield - 21 yrs - Gehrenna FC Image - (13 Caps; 2 goals, 6 assists)

Of all the players from Elmyia enduring difficult seasons abroad, Depel's had the happiest ending. An excellent set of performances in the Di Bradini Cup winning team had convinced Ko-orenite side Gehrenna FC to sign up the mercurial young playmaker, perhaps they had skirted round the fact that he was still a meer bit-part player for Italia. Regardless, they took a punt on him, and with the final kick of the season he managed to aid them to a relegation escape by the finest of margins. Twice MoTM for his side, for such a young player he certainly seems to be settling well. For Elmyia he will sit deeper and be expected to contribute to progressing the ball through passing, whilst Galli does the same through dribbling. Uncharitable observers say he's keeping the position warm for Marinos, but don't expect a player with 6 international assists to surrender it without a fight.

11. Jackie Froggatt - Left-Winger - 28 yrs - Chatswood Image - (48 Caps; 23 goals, 9 assists)

Still, sort of, Elmyia's most expensive player of all time, for a while Froggatt was the nation's only world class player. It showed. The entire team was geared towards simply getting the best out of her, whilst covering its back in defence, last time out. Now, she must share the spotlight. For such a quiet, and surprisingly unsure of herself, character this will not be a problem. She endured a quiet first season for a Chatswood side coasting to mid-table, questions remain around how such a physical side will make use of a player who is slightly waifish and does well with other players to cover the more physical aspects. International football may make more of a happy
hunting ground, with Whittingham providing some steel, and Katsouranis providing a pacey player to bounce off on the wing.

20. Gina Whittingham - Centre-Forward - 23 yrs - Zenit Attawapiskat Image - (31 Caps; 14 goals, 4 assists)

Nothing if not combative, she may be coming off a season where her side scored just 29 goals all-together last season, but there's a reason Whittingham retains her place ahead of more free-wheeling alternatives. They might be yet to see the best of her, but her strength, blood-mindedness and link-up play were still evident for the Quebecois side. For the national team, it's her ability with her head, her strength in wrangling defenders and her interplay with Froggatt that make her the first choice number 9. Should Benedetti spring back from injury in good form she might be a little bit more threatened, George Byng also has a strong shout should he have another strong season. But, for now, her other attributes put her head and shoulders above.

7. Kostas Rossi - Right-Winger - 24 yrs - Chamberley City Image - (35 Caps; 5 goals, 8 assists)

It took time, but Rossi has finally shed his reputation as a nearly man. Always pacey and creative, his dry patch for the national team has been seen off with a strong showing at the Eagle's Cup and Copa Rushmori. His performances for the under-21s provided him a springboard, earning a transfer to Chamberley City, and he's not really looked back. Topping the table for most of the season, he ended it one point short of a title, but personally flourished. While Froggatt provides goal-scoring threat off the left and looks to move inside, Rossi has far more raw pace and a greater ability to cross from wide or cutback, rather than her much shorter assists. Beresford and him could be an interesting combination down the right hand side. Should his form hit the skids, the ever talented Lara Beaugemont would stand to gain.

4. Mario Freschi - Centre-Back - 34 yrs - Italia Mosfleet Image - (61 Caps; 2 goals, 0 assists)
5. Jenny Scoular - Right-Back - 30 yrs - Italia Mosfleet Image - (56 Caps; 1 goal, 3 assists)
8. Vita Speight - Centre-Midfield - 22 yrs - Italia Mosfleet Image - (58 Caps; 5 goals, 5 assists)
9. Vesper Benedetti - Centre-Forward - 19 yrs - Italia Mosfleet Image - (58 Caps; 14 goals, 10 assists)
12. Andrea Silver - Goalkeeper - 29 yrs - Italia Mosfleet Image - (8 Caps; 0 goals, 0 assists)
13. Jane Albrook - Left-Back - 21 yrs - Sablegaard Image - (6 Caps; 0 goals, 2 assists)
15. Antonio Silva - Centre-Back - 19 yrs - AS Samita Image - (5 Caps; 0 goals, 0 assists)
16. Athanasios Marinos - Centre-Midfield - 17 yrs - Mosfleet Albion Image - (2 Caps; 0 goals, 1 assist)
18. Anya Marakakis - Attacking-Midfield - 21 yrs - Tihon United Image - (4 Caps; 0 goals, 1 assist)
21. Lauretta Hightower - Left-Winger - 22 yrs - Italia Mosfleet Image - (13 Caps; 5 goals, 1 assist)
22. Lara Beaugemont - Right-Winger - 23 yrs - AS Samita Image - (13 Caps; 2 goals, 1 assist)
24. Mia Benoit - Left-Wing/Centre-Forward - 19 yrs - Mosfleet Albion Image - (1 Cap; 0 goals, 0 assists)
23. Tatiana Mikou - Goalkeeper - Hellenic SC Image - uncapped
25. Aaron McLoughlin - Defensive-Midfield - 23 yrs - Fallwich United Image - (15 Caps; 0 goals, 0 assists)
26. George Byng - Centre-Forward - 21yrs - AS Samita Image - (31 Caps; 8 goals, 3 assists)

Elmyia will play in a relentlessly attacking fashion. Don't think though that this means they play clean football or have a pure dedication to the aesthetic. Pressing patterns remain an issue, although the players' understanding of each other seems to paper over this. Elmyian players tend to be niggly, they commit plenty of smaller fouls, wind opponents up, time waste and dive. They're not overly physical, although Whittingham does like to bully a centre-back. Elmyia is a small island with a warm, mediterranean climate, more information can be found here. More information on the stadiums games will be hosted in, and the places around them, is here.

Camerania World Cup 94 Official Roster

The Sovereign Republic of Camerania is proud to be returning to the World Cup and the broader sporting world, and to announce the official National Qualifying Team roster. Part of these new initiatives to bring life to Cameranian expressions of identity is to fund our national sports systems. One of our first steps was to begin organizing and training our national teams, and to build the homes they and Cameranian fans would need to come together and have fun. Tilofi National-Municipal Football Stadium is the beginning of a complex of sports stadiums being built, and is fully equipped and ready to welcome players and fans from all nations who come to see our home matches.

We are also happy to unveil the final design for jersey of our National Football Team for all international matches! This design was chosen to reflect our recently unveil new Flag of Camerania, and elicits a more Cameranian look and symbolism to reflect our nation’s continuing progress.

We look forward to bringing updates in future publications
Some of the ways that we romanize Cameranian words and names may create some ambiguity for users of many languages that make use of Latin script-based writing systems. Here are some clarifications to help make your read more enjoyable:
(Comparisons are approximate rhymes based on General American English)

a always like in father, Ah, Taco.
ai like in Sky, Eye.
ao like in how, now, brown, cow.
á like in saw, thaw, slaw.
e like in end, kept, them, never like see
ei like in they, came, ate, ale.
ea like in yeah, or midwestern ‘short A’ (two syllables).
o always like go, no, know, but the lips are not rounded (like Spanish no)
u always like true, who, never like cute or hue.
I or i always like see or bee, never like sky or eye.
Í or í
y is not common in most English speech, it sound somewhere between i and u
ö is somewhat like in good, hood, would.
Doubled vowels indicate stress on that syllable by lengthening the vowel sound, not sound change (ie toopan has a longer first syllable, but does not behave like the English words see or boot)

(Comparisons are alliterative English words)

Th always like Thursday, thief.
Dh always like that, those, these.
Ch as in chuck, cheese, child.
R like in rabbit, running, carrot.
Ng like sing, wing, can also occur at the beginning of a word.
J like English Y in yes, year, (also in kj, fj,etc like in cute or few)
Lk,lm,lt, etc. both letters are pronounced, never silent like chalk or walk.

World Ranking:
11th, ish
Preferred Formation: 4-2-3-1
Secondary Formation: 4-4-2
Style Modifier: 0
Home Stadium: The Farham Arena in Sabrefell is reserved for the biggest games, but Nephara is a large enough country that it spreads its matches across the nation.
Kit Supplier: Kirola
Nickname: The Cormorants

Igrene Cantor's stocks have taken a slight dent, but mostly in a way that raises spectres of the past. Last World Cup, Nephara only barely qualified through a last-moment surge and were then fairly indifferent after a storming 4-1 opening win; reaching the semifinals of the Copa Rushmori was a step in the right direction, but an indifferent showing at the Eagles' Cup has caused serious doubts over Nephara's depth of quality in attack. Regardless; it's Nephara, and Nephara are always among the favourites, even if the 33-year old Radeka Lind's failure to make the cut and the armband officially going to Anaximander Scales marks the final break with the WC87 side; now, Cantor's the last World champion left.

Overall Record
693 wins - 142 draws - 169 losses

Only the second nation in history to achieve the 'Triple Crown' of WCC titles - represented by three stars on the crest.
The most major silverware of any nation in history.

Tactics
Image
Nepharan football is based around playing hard, pressing aggressively, playing for keeps. Occasionally this leaves gaps behind the high defensive line, though most Nepharan goalkeepers are in the sweeping mould these days to compensate. Marchers are, by and large, a physically imposing folk, and eager to throw their size around. The footballing culture is intensely competitive, and those that survive to make their way to the top are hellbent on winning at any cost. Elbows to the face. Subtle digs in the ribs. Diving is dishonest when opponents do it but streetwise when Nepharim do it. In short, Nephara are the bully from two years above who picked you, specifically, out as a natural target.

That is often the foreign perspective, but it overlooks a key fact; Nepharan football can honestly be beautiful to watch. Generations of players brought up on dry plains or asphalt play the ball quickly and fearlessly along the ground, never sideways when there's a forward option open, always looking to stretch and probe and stay one really good pass away from a goal. Nepharim are undoubtedly physical, even cynical, but their success has been built off the backs of ruthless, fast-paced passing football.

Their formation is fairly rigid and disciplined, with plenty of strength all across the pitch, particularly in the forms of Constantine and Sebold ahead of Scales and Roback in the heart of defence. Madita Brewer plays a floating role as a creative playmaker off the right, with Loeher a more traditional winger.

Common Substitutes
If their attacking approach isn't working, then the most clear switches of approach are to take off Kulesza for either the silky playmaker Kvasina, the more subtle Berenguer or, as a 'break glass in case of emergencies' option, pure goalscorer Bravura Harper to partner Vetiver up front. Vetiver will never be taken off the field if Nephara need a goal.
Constantine will frequently be replaced in midfield, either by the brawler Rosziter (if protecting a lead) or the more progressive player Biscan. Kvasina replacing Sebold is a desperation option; far more usual is Anhope.
The fullbacks have to do a lot of work, and Cantor will frequently substitute on Swain or Mueller just as a fresh set of legs late in the game.

The Godhead
For home matches, and during international tournaments, Nephara wheels out the 'Godhead', a giant boulder with an eerie resemblance to Gethin Ramsey, first manager of the Cormorants in the modern era and by now long dead. Nepharim have a superstitious streak, and while nobody's saying it is, in fact, the mystic reincarnation of their most iconic leader, nobody's quite not saying it, either. The Godhead is traditionally 'walked' to the stadium by Nepharan ultras using an intricate series of ropes, and often a flare is wedged into its 'mouth' to simulate a smoking cigar.

Staff
Manager - Igrene Cantor - Age 54
Assistant Manager - Valery Cain - Age 58
One of the few people to have won the World Cup as both a player and a manager, Igrene Cantor excels at building chemistry and a true, tight-knit unit, squeezing the absolute most out of the parts available to her. An absolute dream to a Nephara side that can often be less than the sum of its parts. Cantor thinks of each player in terms of what they bring to the complete picture, not just as a rating out of a hundred; she won't just pick the best eleven players, but a coherent, fully functioning squad that would die for each other on the pitch. Cain is an odd choice of assistant manager, a journeyman manager across Nephara's pyramid, yet somehow Cantor clearly sees a kindred spirit.

Goalkeepers
1 - GK - Medusa Strand (Image Chromatik) - Age 30 - 74 caps, 32 clean sheets
A steady, focused personality, or perhaps no personality at all. Strand is a superb shot-stopper who did not let a few errors early in her career get her down, and the dividends have paid off. Her decisiveness coming off her line, command of her area and ability to sweep behind the defensive line have made her Cantor's preferred goalkeeper.

12 - GK - Toxothea Sebring (Image Crisisbless) - Age 29 - 14 caps, 5 clean sheets
A tall, graceful goalkeeper, with a slightly ungainly look disguising remarkable agility between the sticks. Has an oddly prowling gait. Has never quite convinced at international level, but she's not about to let that get her down; her club form has been excellent for years, and in the event of disaster she'll confidently step up to the task. In theory.

20 - GK - Chary Longstreet (Image CA Paulinthal) - Age 25 - 8 caps, 4 clean sheets
An oasis of calm in goal, Longstreet moves with an effortless grace and commands her area with quiet authority. It seems overwhelmingly likely she'll get her chance at the #1 jersey at some stage down the line.

Defenders
2 - RB - Tiamat Holden (Image AFC Treason) - Age 24 - 24 caps, 2 goals
Rightback is traditionally a problem position for Nephara, but the air of absolute reliability Holden exudes has elevated her above more mercurial peers. She's not the most dynamic presence going forward, preferring to keep in position to link with midfield, and ready to spring into defensive action at a moment's notice..

3 - LB - Tanith Xu (Image Myana) - Age 25 - 56 caps, 5 goals
Seen as Nephara's best up-and-coming defender, hatchet-faced Xu's severe affect and features lend her an aura of authority well beyond her years. She's a jack of all trades, able to drop into midfield, bolt on the overlap and properly defend equally well, and her razor-sharp intelligence means she can make the most of that versatility.

5 - CB - Vetta Roback (Image Sabrefell Athletic) - Age 27 - 39 caps, 2 goals
It took some time for Roback to establish herself at club level, but once done, she never looked back. A Champions League winner with an all-encompassing sense of calm in the box; no matter how dire things get, or how close the opposition come, there's always the sense that Roback will, somehow, bail the Cormorants out.

6 - CB - Anaximander Scales (Image Brinemouth) - Age 29 - 109 caps, 5 goals
Captain
An absolutely massive, bruising defender, Scales' ability to bulldoze and bully forwards without ever quite fouling them is genuinely remarkable. He's not going to set any records for pace - most likely, he'd struggle to catch up to your average pitch invader - but with his effortless calm, maturity and gift for correct anticipation, he's a worthy captain taking over from Radeka Lind.

17 - RB - Astrid Swain (Image Anomalies) - Age 23 - 14 caps, 1 goal
Tall and slender, Swain can look fragile, and her coast-town upbringing makes her seem relaxed in interviews. Don't let that fool you, though, Swain's got some of the most intense white-line fever of anyone in the squad. A fearless attacking fullback with a remarkable eye for a diagonal cross.

18 - CB - Sven Copperhead (Image Crisisbless) - Age 30 - 10 caps, 1 goal
An earnest bruiser, Copperhead's massive but deceptively fast. He loves defending, getting stuck in and smashing people; a little impetuous for international level, perhaps, but if you need a man to stick his head in front of a shot, he's there.

22 - CB - Tamiika Vine (Image Starling) - Age 25 - 16 caps
The Reniira Clevinger comparisons started early; yes, she's a half-satyr centre-half, marked out by her pale blue skin, remarkable height and vestigial horns. But unlike the blood-and-thunder Clevinger, Vine's far more a gentle giant... though she's uncompromising when and where she has to be.

25 - LB - Catheline Mueller (Image Ulsa) - Age 25 - 20 caps
A quiet and uneffacing defender who emerged from precisely nowhere to become one of Nephara's most effortlessly reliable players. Often goes underappreciated, but it's only due to her misfortune - with Xu being a generational talent - that keeps her from being a lock. She won't kick up a fuss, though; she's a model professional who knows her place.

Midfielders
4 - HM - Seeker Biscan (Image Sabrefell Athletic) - Age 26 - 14 caps
Tough and hard-bitten, like any reasonably stereotypical Nephar, Biscan's fearless in closed spaces, whether winning the ball back or distributing under pressure. His refusal to back down borders on the religious; he's had plenty of bumps in his career but always battled his way back to relevance.

8 - CM - Petra Anhope (Image La Nueva Avenida) - Age 24 - 26 caps, 5 goals
Anhope backed herself to get first-team football abroad rather than wait patiently for a breakthrough at Treason; her career since has thoroughly vindicated that decision. Her rock-solid west Nepharan redoubtability has been supplemented by just a bit of flair in Farfadillis, turning her into a brilliantly well-rounded midfielder.

11 - LM - Arachne Loeher (Image Wirr Tsi) - Age 25 - 68 caps, 14 goals
Loeher's what's known in Nephara as an 'asphalt footballer'. Quick on her feet, but more nimble in the tight spaces than pacy on an open stretch of plain. She likes sending others to the cold, hard ground, but has got an inhuman reflex at skipping over challenges that would send her tumbling and skin her knees. Streetwise and creative, with an affinity for scoring screamers, she electrifies Nephara's attack.

13 - RM / AM - Madita Brewer (Image Bastion) - Age 25 - 71 caps, 18 goals
Brewer's origins are curious; she's from an off-the-grid community in the Laith, but fortunately was able to step out into the world of running water and wi-fi connections long enough for her brilliance to get noted and picked up by a club. Originally developed as a pure playmaker, Brewer's bright and coachable, picked up new positions eagerly, and can play across most midfield roles or up front. That versatility helps her no matter where she's positioned, and she can be dangerous from anywhere on the pitch.

15 - HM - Demeter Constantine (Image Crisisbless) - Age 29 - 75 caps
Cool, composed, and with a resting bitch face the envy of a monitor lizard; Constantine's precisely the kind of measured, precise holding midfielder that any elite-level side wanting to retain the ball willl dream of. She isn't a dynamic player, and surface-level watchers will often overlook her. Any deeper look, though, spots that she's integral to the way the Cormorants want to play. She's been in and out of the squad over recent years, but right now is a lock, perhaps because alongside Sebold she can recreate her club partnership.

16 - LM - Tryna Drnaso (Image 1923 Esca) - Age 23 - 15 caps, 5 goals
While raw-boned and somewhat fragile, Drnaso's markedly tougher than she appears, and her combination of raw pace and sheer determination to chase lost causes means she'll find plenty of the ball. With a thunderous left boot, she's blossomed into a lethal winger.

19 - HM - Chandra Rosziter (Image Dynamo Sjoedrhavn) - Age 25 - 36 caps
Tall and powerful, Rosziter locks down the centre of the pitch with wandering elbows, a commandable aggression out of possession and an underrated passing range with the ball. Some defensive midfielders go unnoticed, even when they're doing a good job. Not Rosziter, whose approach demands a warning klaxon.

23 - RM - Tabithe Drake (Image AFC Treason) - Age 23 - 22 caps, 3 goals
A bold, thrilling winger, excelling at taking fullbacks on; she's revealed in interviews it feels like a personal challenge and "look, I just fucking hate defenders, right?" Has a peach of a right boot which can put a ball wherever she wills it, and seems in all things the natural evolution of an orthodox winger.

24 - CM - Bellona Sebold (Image Crisisbless) - Age 25 - 47 caps, 8 goals
A clean-heeled technician with a silky touch. Everything Sebold does - passes, shots, tackles, even tactical fouls - is just tidy. Not the kind of figure who changes a game by chugging about butchering people, but rather a figure who excels at being the ultimate cog in a clicking machine. Of late, she's started to resemble a (raven-haired and somewhat curvier) Elaine Ashdown, and increasingly captured the national imagination.

26 - AM - Lindse Kvasina (Image Istria City FC) - Age 30 - 80 caps, 20 goals
Kvasina's arrogant even by Nepharan standards, a diva reputation backed up by an ample supply of talent, guts and graft. She's hard work off the pitch, but at least she'll work hard on it. Even if she didn't, though, her natural poise on the ball and talent for improvisation would make up for it all. Poses far more of a risk off the pitch than on it.

Forwards
7 - RW / ST - Kestrel Anharbour (Image Crisisbless) - Age 28 - 77 caps, 17 goals
Lightning-quick, two-footed and direct, Anharbour's not the most orthodox winger; she wants to use her physical and technical gifts to get inside fullbacks and cause damage. A cheerful sort who doesn't let much get her down, Anharbour just obviously really loves to play the game, and it shows and enriches her play.

9 - ST - Ravil Kulesza (Image Maethoru SC) - Age 23 - 23 caps, 9 goals
Tall, athletic, handsome and well-rounded, Kulesza is a proper number 9. Not a particularly swaggering personality, but that doesn't mean he's a shrinking violet on the pitch. He's capable enough with his back to goal, but in truth, Kulesza thrives on chaos, attacking the ball and stomping over any opponent in his way to get to it.

10 - ST - Bravura Harper (Image Ulsa) - Age 30 - 81 caps, 40 goals
A brash, swaggering striker, Harper loves taking on first-time shots, and her hammer of a left boot ensures that isn't a waste of a chance. Backs herself to get on the scoresheet, sets herself high expectations, and reliably meets them. She's relentlessly single-minded in pursuit of perfection, and doesn't really have any interests outside football. But evaluated as a footballer, not a dinner companion, you won't find fault.

14 - ST - Leandra Berenguer (Image Anomalies) - Age 24 - 10 caps, 6 goals
An incisive, sharp and intelligent forward of Astograthian extraction. A well-rounded centre-forward, she was content to leave Brinemouth for first-team football, and is content to leave the box to show for the ball. By no means the most dangerous goal threat out there, but she helps make everyone around her that bit more lethal, to say nothing of her frankly unnerving ability to press down defenders.

21 - ST - Felixe Vetiver (Image 1830 Cathair) - Age 24 - 77 caps, 51 goals
Vetiver is lightning-fast, entirely two-footed, ruthless in front of goal and absolutely fearless. She's got a fine first touch and links up play well, with intelligent, mature movement. She's stronger than she looks, though no powerhouse. Strong mentality, no serious issues off the pitch apart from a generally taciturn, cynical nature. And after scoring six goals in four World Cup games, at nineteen... it's safe to say Vetiver's a generational talent. Nepharim look at her and lick their lips, thinking of World Cups. Teenagers don't tend to break through in Nephara, getting eased into the team picture. Vetiver disagreed, and has reliably swept awards in the National League since her arrival at Cathair. Now, entering her prime years, she has a credible eye on Hawke's tally of 91 Cormorants goals and a credible claim on being the best player in the world.

Acastanha Male Senior Football Team

Acastanha or Federation of Acastanha is a country located in Sol Peninsula at the northeast part of Main island in Mandalanusa. It has a land border with Kieraha to the southwest and Sendhang to its south. It is a developing country with agriculture and some mining as their main income. CPO is the country's largest export commodity followed by timber.

In the world of sports, Acastanha started their international debut by entering 5th Melayu Archipelago Cup. They were managed to advance to quarterfinal but they were stopped by Belfitz. Over the course of the competition, they are always managed to qualify to the knockout stage. But they often ended up in the quarterfinal. Their best performance was reaching the final stage in 2 ocassions. First in the 10th edition where they were defeated by Eraman. And the second was in the 12th edition. At the later, they success to win their first trophy both in the competition and the team history.

In the international competition, Acastanha senior football team debuts at Baptism of Fire 74 before continuing to the World Cup. They have entered 7 times in the World Cup Cycle and never advance to the main competition. They success to break into play-off in WCQ 92 just to be defeated by Drawkland in a penalty shootout. They were also invited to Cup of Harmony. Their best result was Round 32 which they reached in 82nd and 83rd edition. However, their performance has recently decline. They failed to reached play-off in WCQ 93 and they continue to exit earlier in Cup of Harmony after the 83rd edition. This situation is contradictory with their regional achievement.

Estádio da Unidade Nacional is a new stadium built by the government of Acastanha. It is located in the country's capital, Amarelda. It is part of Complexo Desportivo Nacional de Amarelda. The sport complex is established with the help from Pemecutan investor in part of strengthening the relationship of both nations. The stadium is intended to be use by Acastanha national football team as a replacement of the regional stadium which was used before. Estádio Nacional de Arra and Estádio Estadual de Palidas. However, in this qualifying stage of World Cup 94, FFA decided to use all 3 stadiums for the home match of Acastanha National Team. This move was decided to give a fair representative towards all regions in the country.
