PRIMARY FORMATION AND PLAYSTYLE

Image

Manager Folami Castel is lining up the lads in a ‘Christmas Tree’ style 4-3-3. The wide play is assigned to the fullbacks, who will be expected to serve as wide wingers in attack while being secure in defense. The centerbacks work as a classic stopper-sweeper partnership, with Julian Noguerra offering some basic defensive screening though preferring to focus on his role as the teams orchestrator, acting akin to a quarterback to keep his team ticking with his passing range. Ahead of him, Adriàn Hyeon-Ju serves as the team’s bulldog as he wrecks any opposition player foolish enough to venture into Cardenaoan territory while Arrivo DeCerci acts as a pressure-resistant metronome with his constant precise pinging of the ball. In attack, the multifaceted genius of Montral LeBlanc will be on full display as the player reaches into his deep bag of tricks to facilitate putting the ball in goal, with his partner Ulysses Vadoro a left winger repurposed to bring a dynamic, flair filled dribbling avenue to the attack. Upfront it’s the very quick and quite pacy, always eager to shoot Ferran Viteri. The whole approach is based around vertical possession, with quick passing and knowing one’s role within the system to produce success. The whole thing is very Erathore in style. Players aren’t shy about trying a risky pass but will generally avoid taking low quality shots. All players have a generally high level of on the ball skill and this results in plenty of flashy play over the course of a match.

Off the ball there is a distinct ‘Huayraball’ approach, where the team is tasked with pressing hard to win the ball back in the five seconds after losing possession before falling back into a more organized defense. This has the benefit of intense pressure to maximize ball-regainment rates before establishing the well-rounded protection of a traditional defensive scheme.

The Beaucester Gazette
Can Lightening Strike Twice?
Elmyia announce Di Bradini Cup squad

Going into the Di Bradini Cup Elmyia find themselves in the novel position of defending a title. The question remains, can lightening strike twice? It's not too different position to last time out, where an underprepped and struggling group of Elmyian players entered the stage, having been coached for a limited time by an outstanding, if outdated talent. Well this time, Elmyia have bagged the services of 'Big Sam', a manager noted for his serial ability to get teams overperforming. But are the tools at his disposal as good as those zen Brian Clough wielded to such effect?

Squad
Starters numbered 1-11
1. Ian Garavakos (AS Samita, 20)
12. Arjan Sycamore (Italia Mosfleet, 20)
23. Viktor Xanthopoulos (Campeto Machinisti, 20)

Goal is one area of comparative strength, so long as Garavakos remains fit and firing. Part of an AS Samita team making an unlikely tilt at the title, he's been forced to wait a long time to get his starts. For ages he remained third choice at Italia Mosfleet, and had also been so for the under-18s. But he now has the position nailed down for the most exciting side in the country, and will relish the opportunity to demonstrate his worth on the international stage. He's not just impressive in goal, having a lot of other attributes in terms of his distribution.Whilst he will be unlikely to be expected to play it out from the back under Big Sam, his long goal kicks aren't too shabby either, and his shot-stopping has been reasonable. Sycamore and Xanthopoulos offer goalkeeping of the more meat and potatoes variety, but neither plays so regularly at such a high level, and whilst they may develop into more commanding presences in the box, they're unlikely to be called upon just yet.

2. Jane Albrook (Sablegaard, 20) - Left-Back
3. Antonio Silva (AS Samita, 20) - Centre-Back
4. Luigi Pozzo (Italia Mosfleet, 20) - Centre-Back
5. Dawn Mead (AS Catamouge, 21) - Right-Back (Centre-Back by Trade)
13. Angelo Calabresi (Indipendiente, 18) - Left-Back
14. Cedric Morin (AS Samita, 20) - Centre-Back
15. Liberatore Nanni (Estdalle, 20) - Centre-Back
16. Anastasia Kastrinakis (Sablegaard, 21) - Right-Back

The pipeline moves on, but the talent might be close to running dry. Big Sam's desire to play narrow, block the centre and bash away crosses with headers might mean Dawn Mead getting the nod over right-back Anastasia Kastrinakis. Kastrinakis and Albrook, both full-backs, both playing for Sablegaard, are the closest thing to a star attraction in this area of the team. Both are outstanding going forward and can deliver crosses of real quality, but only expect one on the pitch at a time. Silva and Pozzo are both reasonably good young centre-backs, but Pozzo is an infrequent starter and there remains an impression that Silva lives a charmed life with Kit Simmons' qualities ahead of him masking any latent deficiencies.

On the bench and there's a significant drop in quality. Only Nanni is plying their trade in the First Division, and even then for an Estdalle side that has shipped goals at an impressive rate. Morin rarely makes it off the bench for AS Samita, whilst Calabresi might be tearing it up, but only in the third division. Expect this unit of the team to mostly sit tight and protect space, funnelling the ball wide and seeking to clear it away quicky. Albrook or Kastrinakis might be fielded to get forward and supplement the attacks, but both will be expected to tend to their defensive duties whilst on the field.

7. Branden Eady (AS Samita, 20) - Left-Mid
6. John Severn (Mosfleet Albion, 21) - Centre-Mid
8. Marina Kuhl (AS Catamouge, 20) - Centre-Mid
11. Leonidas Ioannidis (Munster AFC, 19) - Right-Mid
17. Trix Moon (Scolastico, 21) - Left-Mid
18. Yianna Moss (Chipping Sersbrek, 21) - Centre-Mid
19. Warren Neil (Diepfleet, 21) - Cente-Mid
20. Livvy Jennings (Meridionale, 21) - Right-Mid

With a reasonable goalkeeper and first choice defenders Elmyia have a decent base, but midfield is where the talent pool starts to run somewhat dry. John Severn has started to come into the Mosfleet Albion side under the tutelage of Paula Kidd, but it seems that the incoming Hannah Wellington may well push him back to the bench. Either way he has something of a stopgap feel about him. Marina Kuhl, meanwhile, has been consistently strong for AS Catamouge. As they've established their dominance in the second tier, her qualities have become ever more obvious. Her all energy style has been refined down to bursting runs to press opponents, and get forward for an extra option. The question remains, will a second tier player cut it at this level?

On the wings, the issues are even more compounded. Ioannidis has been a solid, if unspectacular, performer for Munster. Some have questioned if he might already be hitting his ceiling, with his pace undermined by below par ball striking abilities and positional sense. On the plus side, Livvy Jennings is there to come in if he struggles, another solid second tier performer. On the left, however, is a much bigger issue. Trix Moon has barely had a game for high flying Scolastico, and when she has she's done little to merit another look. Meanwhile, Eady is in the same position for AS Samita, falling to 5th in the pecking order for forwards.

Yianna Moss and Warren Neil, good performers in teams battling for promotion and against relegation respectively, round out the bench. It wouldn't be out of the question for the midfield 4 to be altered to get one of these in ahead of Eady. With Albrook able to go past them on the wing it'd allow them to sit much narrower and make games harder for the oppositon.

9. Mia Benoit (AS Samita, 20) - Centre-Forward
10. Anya Marakakis (Hellenic SC, 20) - Centre-Forward/Attacking-Mid
21. Dick Anderson (Mosfleet Albion, 21) - Centre-Forward
22. Venetia Mathers (Hellenic SC, 19) - Attacking-Mid

After the slightly lacklustre options in midfield, Elmyia have much more reason to be hopeful of their offerings upfront. Not the usual little and large pairing that Big Sam usually prefers, although at youth level that might be tricky. Instead we have the supplier and the finisher. Benoit is already a deadly finisher, and in her second year starting in Division 1 she continues to impress with her pace, positioning and accuracy. Marakakis will likely join her, another excellent player who has many assists for Hellenic this season, providing a steady supply for Vykintas Vasiliauskas.

On the bench and Anderson and Mathers are definite downgrades, but both can offer an alternative to what the team starts with. Either is likely to be paired with Benoit still, Anderson is a more static forward and will allow her more license to roam, whilst Mathers is an attacking midfielder who prefers to advance through dribbling, compared to the crisp passing of Marakakis. In this system, both could end up slightly isolated, and it will be likely up to Albrook and Ioannidis to provide that little bit extra in attack.

Team Personality
The Darmeni team will never argue with the referee. Indeed, if anything needs to be brought to the attention of the referee it will be done by either the Captain or Vice-Captain in a respectful manner (or to the fourth-official by the Manager). With regards to foul/dirty play, the Darmeni team will not provoke, or retaliate against any opposition player. Darmeni's expect each team to keep to itself and deal with its own trouble makers; any opposition player who attempts to prevent a conflict by pushing or pulling a Darmeni away from the scene will be promptly told off, as that is the duty of the Darmeni Captain.

Nonetheless, Darmen will play in a relatively aggressive manner. Tackles will be conducted in a way which ensures the opponent ends up on the ground, but causing injury will be avoided as much as possible. On set pieces, Darmenis will stand their ground and will not be easily pushed around, they will not however engage in hugging. In fact, if any opposing player tries to push past them, it is not uncommon for the Darmeni player to feign resistance before simply stepping aside and watching as the opposing player stumbles past on their way to ground. This occasionally backfires however, as the referee may mistake the incidence as having been a foul in the box.

Manager
Kasper Volheim
Age: 49
The experience of dealing with youth teams, even if it was only as just an assistant manager, paid off quite well for Volheim as he is now a key fixture in the national team program and likely to stay so long as the success at both the youth level and the senior level sustains itself. Shifting his ability to communicate with the young players under his command from the assistant position to the manager position will be a huge question, but he will look to capitalize on his experience with the senior team and his time as Faeron's assistant to try and take the Young Marauders forward.

Assistant Manager
Thor Møller
Age: 41
A former national team striker who has been working the last two years as the reserve coach for Mar Sara FC. The appointment is likely only a single cycle post for the young manager, as he looks to use the under twenty-one team as a launch point for his own managerial career. His experience as a player makes it easy for him to translate what is needed for the players to get ready for their games and keep the squad focused on the tasks on hand.

Postby United Adaikes » Mon May 15, 2023 7:35 pm

This is the third time the United Adaikes has sent a team to the prestigious Di Bradini Cup. In their last appearance, in DBC 53, they ended in the Round of 16, a tad better than their last-place-in-Group-Stage ending in DBC 52, their first attendance in the tournament. For this edition, a younger cousin of a prominent open-wheel race driver is in the Starting XI of this team. The twin sister of an Adaikesian tennis player is also a back-up midfielder in this team. The younger brother of a prominent starter defender in the United Adaikes National Football Team is a back-up defender for this team as well.

The Archalitian Seamen

About the Seamen
The Archalitian Seamen are the national U21 Football Team of Archalit. They are coming in with very minimal experience
to the Di Bradini Cup, however many of the players on this team are actually on the official Archalitian Football team.
As a result of the rather recent introduction of Archalit on the international stage, many younger players (who were still
very strong and talented) did not have a significant experience disadvantage, and were thus able to stack up to the older
members of the team. However, now coming off of their atrocious IC-18 season, these U-21 players are hoping to pick
themselves and many new teammates up to come forth with a BoF-type miracle.

About Archalit
Archalit is a socialist state associated with The Pacific. After a recent regime change, the nation has radically changed from an oppressive totalitarian state with closed borders to an open, friendly country with overarching social policies and libertarian left beliefs. As a result of this, the nation has become open to international sports among other activities. They are notable for their incredible unity and trust among one-another and their complete lack of prisons. The nation is considered an "island" but is effectively a single nation occupying a continent with very lucrative resources spread across it. The capital of Archalit is Charkara, the home of the Archalit Olympic Stadium.
Player Information
Goalkeepers are all new! Jorden Telikinaki is the most promising young goalkeeper in the nation, with very nice twitch speed and his relaxed composure. Ian Pheonix is very similar, fighting for Jorden's spot as a starter, meanwhile Jason Adrielle is a towering force and takes the role of a wall in front of the forwards.

The defenders have some familiar faces. Jasper Penner has his chance to be a starter after benchwarming the entire team, meanwhile Joe McKean, who watched the tragic IC-18 season unfold, takes the role of RB. Beyond that, we see Dany Irnaris, an elegant lady whose presence is enchanting, or on the field, frightening. Lo Kumale on the other hand is much less elegant and much more brutal, being the prime suspect for a bad tackle.

In the midfield, many of those present have done it before, although not exactly in the same roles. Nikko Benito is unfortunately pressured to fill the RM hole unlike his position on the main team, but Ethan San and Hyde Underling fill their positions well. Drake Nixon is a new face, but he's not particularly dazzling, fitting in as a DM.

The starter forwards are ALL a part of the main team. Dendou Riki gets his next shot after failing to support the front in the IC-18, meanwhile Minato Gee, Jose Gee's little sister, actually gets the opportunity to be a starter this time.

Di Bradini Cup 55/U21WC76 Signups (Open)

Postby Kamijiro » Tue May 16, 2023 10:25 pm

Official Communication
The Kamijiroan FA is pleased to announce the call-up for the youth squad to compete at the Di Bradini Under 21 World Cup.
Note that this is one of the first official competitions that Kamijiro will participate in. As such, there are no stats for caps or international goals.

Manager:
- Alex Thomas, American

Manager's playing style and team tactics:
- Thomas is well-known for playing a flat 4-4-2, a classic look at football. He likes to implement a vertical approach to passing, with quick passes between defenders and midfielders, followed by midfielders and forwards. Through balls are often tried. There are some controversies surrounding his style of play, however, as his teams tend to rack up yellow cards for "dirty plays." They tend to play for set pieces as well, even if it means going to the ground extremely easily. This will allow them to have the ball in dangerous areas with the ability to make life dangerous in the box. His managerial career has seen him win multiple trophies in the lower leagues of various countries, most notably winning the National League South in England.
He tends to nominate captains based on their ability to be an "enforcer," somebody who isn't afraid to fight tooth and nail for his club/country, even if it means picking up yellow cards and winding up opponents.

Tactical Set-Up

The young Starsian side is a very skilled team with a very high team chemistry and morale combining it with their quick paced game they are an opponent for all teams to watch out for.
They play in a 4-3-3 which through the match can be changed to various other formations suiting the game that they play however they are an offensive team loving to have possesion of the ball.
This Starsian side is known to play great but very fair soccer respecting every opponent and with their disciplined training they are most likely to make the game rather then reacting to their opponents.

Left Corner Taker: Raquel Gomez
Right Corner Taker: Raquel Gomez
Penalties: Lauren Brown
Direct FK Taker: Elizabeth Phillips
Indirect FK Taker: Sven Eriksson
Most likely to foul/be booked: Margaux Dupont
Most likely to shoot: Lauren Brown
Most likely to score from close-range: Lauren Brown
Most likely to score from long-range: Elizabeth Phillips
Most likely to be fouled: Elizabeth Phillips
Most likely to attempt the spectacular: Elizabeth Phillips

Star players

Hailey Price
A good solid defneder who between alot of strong players keep herself standing very well, Hailey Price plays in a young team but her development looks promising and we expect her soon as a starter in the league.
On the defense she is without a doubt one to watch and besides Eva Weber the strongest defender.

Eva Weber
Eva is a seasoned defender who knows her stuff and has both the brains and the physical game to give alot of men a run for their money and how she is not a regular is a mystery.
Her brother next season will play in the first team but Eva still awaits her debut but meanwhile in this team she is one of our star players and we look forward to her plays.

Leyla Kaya
Future for the Desert Lions looks bright if its up to this girl, she is a midfielder and an allround player capable on both offense and defense where she excels in ball control and team game.
Her young age and inexperience is what kept her out of the first team so far and she looks forward to impress her team so much that they will appoint her to a starter role.

Elizabeth Phillips
Playing in the first team of Pegasus Orb Elizabeth Phillips with both many goals and good plays proved that she was a level ahead of her team and currently is even captain of this team and her own.
Everyone looks to her as she is the most experience and skilled player on this team knowing how to lead aswell as how to motivate the team with her can-do spirit lifting everyones mood.

Commonwealth of Baker Park Under 21 National Team

WINNER--DBC 53/Under-21 World Championships 74

Image

The Football Association of the Commonwealth of Baker Park are one of the biggest supporters of age restricted competition across the multiverse; we count the 42nd Di Bradini Cup as our 'Day Zero' of the modern era of the sport and our own stewardship of the Under-18 World Championship is inspired by the work of our regional partners at the VFA in their commitment to acting as fair brokers to all nations seeking to compete.

All time DBC record--24 wins, 18 losses, 14 draws

Just as the Commonwealth's participation in DBC 42 led to a fundamental sea change for the sport in Baker Park, the current edition of the DiBradini Cup will mark the beginning of a new era for the Baker Park National Team.

Former NT Captain Matt Villareal takes on the job as FAC Director of Player Development and will be in charge of the Under-21 side for the first time; Frederica Baptiste earned a promotion from staff development coach to the co-Assistant Manager role alongside another former NT standout Darren Haller for U18/U21 program and will work with yet a third NT alum in Declan Mason, who will be on his first assignment along with Kelly Houlihan who was hired to fill Baptiste's spot.

DBC 54 was the final, disappointing chapter in the careers of the 'Elite Eight' who were instrumental in Baker Park's first Under 21 World Championship in DBC 53; eleven new faces will take up the squad roles that group leave behind. The addition of two recently eligible prospects who have attained citizenship--Shalla Ibrahim, who came from the Busoga Islands with her parents 6 years ago and Catriona Lokipina from Vilita--will bring more focus onto a new generation of recent immigrants to the Commonwealth to strengthen the native born talent that have been brought up through the FAC's Development Charter program. The current squad will be eager to erase the memories of the last tournament that saw Baker Park suffer defeat in all three group matches.

Please assume YES for all answers in the Permission Box – just TG me first if it's particularly insane and/or egregious. Also, anything COVID related can do one.

KRYTENIA 2308 DI BRADINI CUP SQUAD
Modifier: +4

Image
Beginning their football journey way back in the second Baptism of Fire competition, Krytenia are one of the oldest national teams still competing in international football. With five World Cups hosted, as well as a smattering of AOCAFs, Cups of Harmony, Baptism of Fires, and even a CAFA Cup, they also have a deserved reputation for organising top-level football competitions. What they don't have, though, is a reputation for winning. They are yet to win a World Cup; in fact, they have only reached one final, losing to Aguazul in World Cup 58. Five semi-final defeats are what set the tone for the Dragons – indeed, losing in the semis of a major competition is known as the “Krytenian Curse”. That said, there is silverware in their cabinet. Having created the AOCAF Cup, Krytenia eventually won the fifty-second iteration of the competition; more recently, they won Cup of Harmony 78 and nearly added a second two cycles later, losing to fellow co-hosts Græntfjell on home soil.

They may have a reputation as the multiverse's nearly men, but never let yourself be deluded that the Krytenians are defeatist. Even though they may come up short, it's a very rare thing to see a Dragons team simply give up. Be aware that when the sky blue shirts are on the field, you will be in for a tough game, and victory will always be hard-earned.

Image
Manager – Neil SMITH, Age 54
Fans of Nate Ellis beware - “The Unit” is back in business. The man fills a suit and then some, but don't let his jocular nature and ample frame deceive you. This is a manager – and former international striker – that learned at the feet of Richard Valens and Paul James at Stanton. Given the Dockers' way is to develop their own, it makes sense that Smith has transitioned to managing the Under-21s. Expect passion and animation on the touchline, an attacking philosophy, and a tendency to throw caution to the wind if needed.

Image
Image

James BOGDANOVIC
Age: 20
Position: Goalkeeper
Club: Oustia

One from the James Orwell playbook, Bogdanovic seems happier with the ball at his feet rather than in his hands. Don't be fooled, though, as the Oustia stopper is still a reliable shot-stopper.

Image

Tom SIMMONS
Age: 20
Position: Goalkeeper
Club: Leston Town

No-nonsense, no flapping at crosses, and usually has a preference for the big boot downfield. No wonder he plays for the workhorse team that is Leston.

Image

José BLANCO
Age: 21
Position: Goalkeeper
Club: Avidia City

Good genes: Blanco is agile enough that a career in gymnastics was considered before football came calling. Bad genes: hairline is already receding.

Image
Image

Lucas CAMARA
Age: 20
Position: Right-back
Club: Caversham

Cultured wing-back, comfortable both in tracking back and with ball at feet. Loves an overlap.

Image

Harry LEWIS
Age: 20
Position: Left-back
Club: Dereapolis City

Bags of pace and excellent positioning. Lewis does tend to see tackling as a last resort, and is happier guiding opposing wingers down a cul-de-sac instead.

Image

Leon JONES
Age: 20
Position: Centre-back
Club: Ousevale Borough

Coming through the ranks at the Southern Arena at such a young age is no mean feat. Jones, though, looks like the real deal. Excellent read of the game and metronomic timing in the tackle.

Image

Benjamin HORA
CAPTAIN
Age: 21
Position: Centre-back
Club: Emberton Reds

Might not be the fastest, but commands the back line like a drill sergeant. Can get the ball moving quickly out of the defence too.

Image

Phil ASHTON
Age: 19
Position: Left-back
Club: Caversham

More of a defensive-minded full-back, which might explain why he's on the bench given Smith's more aggressive tactical style. Will help to shore up the game on the left side, though.

Image

Serge ZAMPA
Age: 18
Position: Centre-back
Club: Avidia United

Quick defender whose command of the air has been turning heads in his limited appearances for United. Still a little green around the gills, but to be fair, he's only eighteen.

Image

Russell SPARWASSER
Age: 20
Position: Right-back
Club: Beckton Supermarine

Lacks the pure pace of other full-backs, but makes up for it by being an absolute pain in the backside for attackers. Will constrict wingers like a python – thankfully, only metaphorically.

Image

Adam JOSHUA
Age: 20
Position: Centre-back
Club: Notegia Rangers

Very much from the “old school” of defending. Joshua his hard in both tackle and clearance; a real enforcer at the back.

Image

Alistair McCONNELL
Age: 19
Position: Centre-back
Club: Caledon Simpson

At 5'9” he's relatively short for a centre-back, but makes up for that by leaping like a salmon.

Image
Image

Darren GABRIEL
VICE-CAPTAIN
Age: 21
Position: Central midfield
Club: Royal Emberton

Ten thousands terriers in a human suit. Will chase down anyone with the ball in range. Also has a good eye for a pass.

Image

George CORADA
Age: 20
Position: Right midfield
Club: Emberton Hibernians

Corada loves to find – and make – space. Will have a tendency to drift from the flank to the centre in order to do so.

Image

Emmanuel CURIE
Age: 20
Position: Central midfield
Club: CFF Monthuez

Talented ball-playing midfielder with an eye for a free kick. His more forward-minded play compliments Gabriel's ball-winning nicely.

Image

Carl WEBB
Age: 21
Position: Left midfield
Club: Ashton Olympic

Webb is happiest with the ball at his feet, with close control and confusing opposing defenders. Expect him to whip in some dangerous crosses from his side of the field.

Image

Aaron WHARFEDALE
Age: 20
Position: Central midfield
Club: Noton United

More of an attacking player than a conventional midfielder, but happy to track back and help out defensively if needed.

Image

Matt ANDREAS
Age: 21
Position: Right midfield
Club: Norton

Prefers an early cross to taking on defenders; this lack of penetration is probably why he's not in the first eleven.

Image

Jaime RIVAS
Age: 21
Position: Left midfield
Club: CF Avides

Has running for days, close control can be an issue though. Will sweat blood for the team on the left flank.

Image

Carson KENZIE
Age: 21
Position: Central midfield
Club: Caledon Simpson

Tends to play more as a defensive midfielder rather than truly in the centre. Likely to make an appearance if Smith is looking to protect a lead.

Image

Jonathan AUBREY
Age: 21
Position: Central midfield
Club: Stanton Town

Calming influence in the middle of the park, likes to play the short ball and create space through movement.

Image
Image

Reece KLAASEN
Age: 21
Position: Striker
Club: Aigburth Athletic

Apex predator of a striker, seems to find a way to get on to any ball delivered into his general area. A useful skill considering the bunch of cloggers he has to deal with at Aigburth.

Image

Max AMARO
Age: 19
Position: Half-forward
Club: Avidia United

Loves to drag defenders away with a well-timed run; on the ball, will look to get past his man. Not averse to pulling a 30-yard howitzer out of the bag if given enough space.

Image

Wayne DIXON
Age: 20
Position: Half-forward
Club: Bradwell Saints

Dixon is most at home moving the ball quickly to someone else. That said, he's not afraid to shoot on sight; he's just a little less selfish than your average striker.

Image

Martin FORSS
Age: 20
Position: Striker
Club: Sandwell Rangers

Height makes him a danger from corners. A little less at home with ball at feet, but isn't exactly a duffer in that regard.

Image

Devon MORRIS
Age: 20
Position: Half-forward
Club: Adanac City

Has half of Anaia in his DNA – born in Maple Heights to an Osarian mother and Plough Islander father. Probably chose to play for Krytenia because the commute is smaller. Comfortable leading the attack or creating chances just behind.

“System Erv”, named for the senior team, is on the face of it a 4-2-3-1. With the Krytenians on the ball, however, expect this to change quickly to a 4-2-4 as the second line pushes up to support the striker. The two holding midfielders will be the fulcrum of the attack; expect the ball to move quickly between light blue shirts, especially on the counter. Press, pace, and overloading and overwhelming opposition defences will be the order of the day. If Neil Smith is going “full assault” mode, this could end up looking more like a 2-3-5, and even the two is a bit generous to the defence.

Off the ball, Krytenia will play a high line; they may be vulnerable to balls over the top – if opposition attackers can time their runs to avoid the offside and beat the Dragons' defenders for pace.

About Muralos
Muralos is a cosmopolitan collection of islands located in the corner of the Far East: RL’s Sakhalin and Kuril Islands. It is home to a population of Russian, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and indigenous (Ainu, Nivkh, and Orok) origins. The official language of Muralos is Esperanto- a language designed to be universal and easy to learn- but the population is exceptionally multilingual, with each citizen knowing an average of 4 languages.

(OOC: pre-confirming puppet New Zhengguo.)

The Muralosian Under-21 National Soccer Team
(also known as the Young Hawks, after Muralos’ national animal, the Muralosian Hawk)

The Muralosian national under-21 soccer team represents Muralos in association football competition against other U-21 teams. The Young Hawks' performance in the Di Bradini Cup will be a harbinger of the senior Muralosian national team's future. A number of starting players on the senior team wish to retire from soccer in the next five years, so members of this year's U-21 squad may very well be playing for Muralos in the next few Independent Associations Championships and World Cup Qualifiers.

Like the senior Muralosian national soccer team, the Muralosian national under-21 soccer team is gender-inclusive; unlike the current roster of the senior team, it features a starting lineup of men, women, and non-binary players, as opposed to an all-male starting lineup. A few members of the U-21 team are also on the senior national team and the U-18 team, which advanced to the Round of 16 at the 14th RTC U-18 World Cup in Xanneria and Starcom. As of now, none of the Young Hawks play outside of Muralos, but many are interested in securing contracts with overseas club teams.

The Muralosian national under-21 soccer team is coached by Pavel Li and Hina Kageyama, both assistant coaches of the senior Muralosian national soccer team. The team typically plays in a 4-4-2 formation.

Kits
The Muralosian national under-21 team uses one kit with the national colors of Muralos. This kit is identical to the kit of the senior Muralosian national team.
Image

Starting Lineup of the Muralosian National Under-21 Soccer Team
  • #1 - Tutin - Goalkeeper - 18
Tutin is somewhat of a prodigy, having been the starting goalkeeper for Okha Young Men's Academy since his first year there. In four years, he has recorded 623 saves, with a GAA of 0.038 and won two Interscholastic Federation (FIS) championships. Tutin is of Nivkh ancestry; although his family took the surname Kolesnikov during the imperial Russian period of Muralos – around 1870 – he has dropped the surname to keep with Nivkh custom.

  • #2 - Andrea Lin - Left back - 18
Often seen twirling a drumstick, Lin is a skilled percussionist as well as athlete. They are a starting defender for the HSVPA girl's soccer team, and are to enter Urbego National University. Due in large part to Lin's performance, HSVPA was a runner-up in the FIS championships in 2021 and a winner of the FIS championship in 2022. (Note that while Lin plays for the girls' soccer team, they do not use she/her pronouns.)

  • #4 - Samuil Gurevich - Center back - 20
Gurevich is a junior at the Havenurbo Institute of Technology, where he studies computer science and is on the University League Team. The Havenurbo Tech men's soccer team has been one of the University League's most successful, having won back to back University League titles in 2019 and 2020. Together with recent graduates Georgo Zhong and Lerta Donaldson (who now play for the senior team), Gurevich has played an important role in defining Havenurbo Tech's surgically precise style of play.

  • #5 - Elena Kuznetsova - Center back - 19
Kuznetsova is a first year student at the University of Oleo, playing for the University League team there. Kuznetsova's long-range forward passes were extremely reliable and contribute to Nord-Urbo High School's rather flowing brand of soccer – an outlier in a country that emphasizes a more straightforward, physical style of play at the high school level, with plenty of communication between defenders and midfielders. She has been vocal about her interest in playing overseas for a club team in the multiverse after graduation, and she would become the second player to do so after Galina Shchedrina.

  • #3 - Roberto Chen Morishita - Right back - 19
Morishita will graduate from the Poronaysk Academy of Sciences in the summer, after helping secure the Academy's second FIS title in history. He has committed to the Havenurbo Institute of Technology, but has not made a commitment to play on the University League Team. Morishita is a fairly aggressive defender compared to his counterparts on the U-21 team; he does not hesitate to interrupt possession or take part in aerial battles.

  • #6 - Daniela Safonova - Left midfield - 17
As an athlete, Safonova is often characterized by RTM-1 and other sports media as a young version of senior national team midfielder Galina Shchedrina: composed and capable of scoring and crossing with impressive range. She has also been known for her brief appearances on Muralosian national media coverage about soccer, and because of this, RTM-1 named her an "honorary correspondent" in 2020.

  • #7 - Esperanta Kim - Center midfield - 20
Kim plays for the women's soccer team of the University of Okcidenta-Havenurbo, a team which has historically lagged in the University League but has greatly improved in recent years. Kim helped her team advance to the quarterfinal of the University League championships for the first time in team history, scoring off of a free kick in a 1-0 upset of Zamenhof University. An aspiring academic, Kim is also an assistant for U. of Okcidenta-Havenurbo professor Samantha Anders' research on multiversal history and politics, including a study of Mertagnian immigration policy during the Mertagnian isolation, a comparison of anti-Corvidae resistance movements to anti-fascist resistance movements in Muralos, and a short history of Nimban government, which was made into a popular video on the Internet.

  • #8 - Yutian Liu - Center midfield - 19
Liu was one of the few athletes to join a Muralosian Premier League team immediately after graduating from high school. She is currently a key player for FC Spartak Alexandrovsk and a prospective player for the senior Muralosian national football team, potentially starting in place of retiring starter Nikolaj Granda. Like Granda, Liu has distinguished herself with her exceptional speed and passing ability, allowing her to easily take charge on the pitch.

  • #11 - Niutanimats - Right midfield - 18
Niutanimats graduated from Nord-Kurilo High School in the Kuril Islands, the only Muralosian high school that does not hold away games for its soccer matches, due to its distance from Sakhalin. Like many of her peers, she is coached by senior Muralosian national team member Aleksandro Kim in the off-season. (Kim, who grew up in Nord-Kurilo, holds an annual soccer clinic in the city.)

  • #9 - Daniil Lee - Striker - 17
Lee is a player for the senior Muralosian national team as well. He scored his first goal for the senior national team in a 3-0 win against Grey County at the 12th Independent Associations' Championship, and scored one more goal against Qasden during the 88th World Cup qualifiers, in a 2-3 loss. Lee's scrappy moves belie his efficiency. He excels at creating chances in situations that require fighting for the ball – like corner kicks and crosses – and he often translates these chances into goals.

  • #10 - Varvara Kuznetsova - Striker - 18
A student in a two-year engineering program at the Technical College of Poronaysk, Kuznetsova is one of the few players (along with senior national team striker Valora Lin) who have helped bring a Muralosian junior college to prominence in sports. On the offensive front, Kuznetsova converts chances with power and precision, while being difficult for opponents to mark because of her agility. She is, however, a generally unselfish player, with excellent vision on the pitch and ability to create chances for a no. 9.

Reserves of the Muralosian National Under-21 Soccer Team
  • #18 - Kuukleke - Goalkeeper - 19 - Urbego High School - he/him
  • #17 - Viktor Li - Left back - 19 - University of Oleo - he/him
  • #29 - Katerina Taneyeva - Center back - 16 - Havenurbo Institute of Technology - she/her
  • #28 - Jiwoo Choi - 20 - Center back - University of Oleo - they/them
  • #19 - Mari Lin - 21 - Right back - Havenurbo Institute of Technology and CSKA Urbego - she/her
  • #30 - Madoka Okayama - Left midfield - 17 - Havenurbo School of Visual and Performing Arts - she/her
  • #32 - Roberto Lin - Center midfield - Nord-Urbo High School - 16 - he/him
  • #21 - Emi Tanaka - Center midfield - University of Okcidenta-Havenurbo - 18 - she/her
  • #23 - Maraĵa (Marazha) Collins - Right midfield - 17 - Nord-Urbo High School - they/them
  • #20 - Liskit - Striker - 18 - Nord-Urbo Women's College - she/her
  • #22 - Junyi Li - 18 - Striker - Urbego National University - he/him

Team Cassadaigua- Di Bradini Cup 55

Coach- Hannah Shanley (Starksville United) (51)

Starting defender from World Cups 80-83, and then served as a regular substitute in World Cup 84. Has served in this role since World Cup 85, and that includes while she was still active as a player for a little while. Some are beginning to think that Shanley might be a little too focused on the national team, given Starksville United’s struggles of late. Shanley has been a regular assistant of Brittany Byers, but did not serve as such in the Copa Rushmori 40 title run. She has had a handful of opportunities to serve as the manager in the Di Bradini and RTC Cups in the past, and this will be another such chance.

*- If you are wondering about Chen Huikang, he will be managing the RTC Cup team.

Assistant Coach- Jessica Tolson (Victoriaville South End) (54)

There are some that feel that Tolson is the best tactical manager in the CSL. The long time coach of Victoriaville South End has done very well to get her squad to exceed expectations almost every year, and it has gotten to the point now where they are Victoriaville's premier club, and not VIctoriaville City. Tolson has had a couple chances to manage junior teams herself, and has worked with Shanley before.

THE TRUE VALHALLAN FEDERATION OF POLAR ISLANDSTATES ROSTER FOR DBC 55
Nation Name: The True Valhallan Federation of Polar Islandstates
Demonym: Valhallans (or Polarians)
Team Nickname: The Chicks
Official Supporters Group: Outlawed

KIT COLOURS:
AWAY - HOME (w/ Reverse) - KEEPER
Image

STAFF:
Manager: Erik Zhamaletdinov, 50
A True Valhallan, Erik was actually a member of the squad the last time the Chicks played in international competition, and will surely go down as one of the best players who never got to represent the Terns. Leaving his job as attacking coach at his native Surtsey, his new role as national u-21s boss is one focused on player development. Nothing new there, you might think, except this time there's a nice young man from The Party hanging around and emphasising the importance of building a strong team of True Valhallans for the future. No idea why. He's brought some players that featured at the Copa with him, so, let's see how they get on. He's being watched.

Assistant Manager: Einar Jepsen, 48
A True Valhallan, Jepsen had a largely forgettable playing career at Jan Mayen Islanders. Promised at one point to be a world-beater, but injuries and a talented rank in front of him curtailed his development, and when he pinged his ACL at the age of 24 for the third time, he started his coaching badges whilst accepting his descent through the tiers. A talented coach and tactician, Jepsen is here as assistant manager, yes, but the DBC is a proving ground for those in the dugout, as well...

PLAYERS:
GK
#1 - GK - Jori Sipp - Age 21 - Image Jan Mayen Islanders
#12 - GK - Arvid Wedemeyer - Age 20 - Image FC Axel Heiburg
#13 - GK - Jaan Reusser - Age 19 - Image SK Aasiaat Harbour
Jori Sipp is by far and away the first choice here, with him already gaining significant minutes for Jan Mayen in Divisjon One. Wedemeyer and Reusser are talented, no doubt, but Sipp is first team ready. The Ospreys academy in Jan Mayen has a habit of creating good keepers recently; must be something in the water.

DEF
#2 - DR - Heiki Uhlgren - Age 20 - Image Jan Mayen Islanders
#3 - DC - Odbjorn Ohm - Age 20 - Image FC1. Bjarnarey Flotilla - CAPTAIN
#4 - DC - Aapo Miroshnichenko - Age 21 - Image East Franz Athletic
#5 - DL - Jalmari Hagen - Age 19 - Image SK Franz Josef City
#18 - DR - Melvin Ferg - Age 21 - Image FC Axel Heiburg
#19 - DL - Haraldur Alberg - Age 18 - Image FC1. Surtsey Island Gulls
#21 - DC - Olav Glanzer - Age 20 - Image FC Axel Heiburg
#22 - DC - Valentin Ernst - Age 17 - Image FC1. Bjarnarey Flotilla
#23 - DC - Mikkel Hedstrom - Age 18 - Image Jan Mayen Islanders
Captain Odbjorn Ohm and Aapo Miroshnichenko make up the core of the back line, with both coming off the bench to feature at the most recent Copa Rushmori and both already in the first team at their respective clubs. Glanzer, Uhlgren, and Hagen join them in the starting line-up, with many commentators making passing comparisons between Hagen and the great KKV already. Ernst is something of a wild-card selection from Zhamaletdinov, but we'll see what comes of him should he get game time.

MID
#6 - DMC - Nic Dementieva - Age 18 - Image North Star Grímsey
#7 - AMC - Einar Heimark - Age 20 - Image East Franz Athletic - Vice-Captain
#8 - MC - Elvis Haugen - Age 20 - Image FC Axel Heiburg
#14 - MC - Martin Kallenberger - Age 19 - Image Northbrook Diamonds FK
#15 - DMC - Carl Urdahl - Age 18 - Image Jan Mayen Islanders
#16 - AMC - Gunnar Keppler - Age 18 - Image SK Franz Josef City
#17 - MC - Usko Stomberg - Age 20 - Image FC Torshavn
In the middle of the park, vice-captain and Copa Rushmori squad member Einar Heimark will be doing most of the string-pulling. A product of the famed Haapa-Mechelin in Axel Heiburg, he was tempted away by the lights of the Rendahl as a teenager, a move which has proved fruitful. Many of his former youth teammates are in the squad here however, and Zhamaletdinov will be hoping that Heimark and Haugen can re-produce their once telepathic relationship for the Chicks. Dementieva is a regular in the first team at North Star, and much is hoped for from him.

ATT
#9 - ST - Emmanuele Niemi - Age 19 - Image SK Nasjonale Hauker
#10 - ST - Youssef Nijgaard - Age 18 - Image FC1. Bjarnarey Flotilla
#11 - ST - Viljo Nilsen - Age 20 - Image FC Axel Heiburg
#20 - ST - Alf Lofthus - Age 19 - Image SK Franz Josef City
Finally, up front, Emmanuele Niemi is the final member of the Copa squad to get a run out here, and with his dozen goals for Nasjonale in the latest Divisjon One season he is expected to shine. His presence in the squad at the Copa however did bring to light a fact which cost some factchecker at the Party their job; his father was Dagbjartur Niemi, a contemporatry of Zhamaletdinov in the last DBC squad. More importantly, he was last seen playing as a striker for Fallenmark club Marylebone Invicta. Which means Emmanuele wasn't actually born in the True Valhallan Federation. Hm. Hopefully his feet do the talking. With Nijgaard providing the knock-downs, that's certainly possible.

Penalty Taker: Youssef Nijgaard/Einar Heimark/Emmanuele Niemi
Free Kick Taker: Einar Heimark/Emmanuele Niemi/Jalmari Hagen
Corner Taker: Einar Heimark/Jalmari Hagen/Martin Kallenberger

Probable Starting formation: 3-3-2-2
------------------------------------ Sipp -----------------------------------
-------------------- Ohm -- Miroshnichenko -- Glanzer ----------------
---- Uhlgren ---------------- Dementieva ------------------ Hagen ----

THE OPPONENT CAN
Choose my goalscorers? Yes.
Godmod scoring events? Yes.
RP injuries to my players? Yes, within reason, and I reserve the right to change the severity in a follow-up RP.
Godmod injuries to my players? Yes, as above.
Hand out yellow cards to my players? Yes.
Hand out red cards to my players? Yes, but only 2 per match maximum, and never to my captain or vice-captain.
Godmod other events? TG me first, but I'm always open to ideas.

A quick RP note:
I am going to be RPing this return to the fore as if the Federation is no longer the nordic bastion of civil rights and political freedoms that you might remember. The long absence from international sport is thanks to an isolationist and paranoid military police state taking over, using whipped up fear against the Sargossans' claim to Külmsaar and Terra Scotia as both carrot and stick. Which should make our group stage game interesting... Citizens are now more concerned with achieving the title of True Valhallan, achieved through either military service, civil service, or, now, representing your national in international sport. Yes, Secretary General Orion Lund has finally acquiesced to allow Valhallans to compete internationally again, with the exercise potentially seen as a good way to advertise the new Valhalla to the outside world. The nation has also taken a rather more bullying tone towards the rest of the Valhallan Union, with Minor Valhalla now very much pressured into living up to its geographical title, and not best pleased about it. So, the nation is no longer closed, but travelling fans will not be permitted. The Chicks will be supported, if at all, by ex-pats and those seeking asylum in foreign countries already, although the promise of the security forces that will be travelling with the team will likely put many off entirely. It's Valhalla, Jim, but not as we know it.

Chromatik U-21 Squad
The Junior Anomalies

Staff
Manager: Claude Pare-Achel (ZWZ), 63
Assistant Manager: Mikhail Dushov, 60
Physio: Anna-Maria Myers, 46
Formation: 3-4-3
Style Modifier: +1.81
U-21 Record: 30-16-21

Being one of the best collegiate managers, Claude Pare-Achel of Zwangzug remains as the U-21 Manager for Chromatika, with the CFF hoping that his success in the CCFA can lead to the Young Anomalies returning to place fourth last time around - losing to Tumbra and Valanora. He'll have the best of the CCFA - though the CFF have recently decreed that only players without a senior cap can play at the U-21 level. What will this limitation do?

The Roster
Goalkeepers
GK 1. Jill Swanson, 21, Univeristy of Myana | 6 ft 8 in
GK 12. Christopher Silverman, 20, Felswyr State University | 6 ft 5 in Quebecois/Chromatik Dual National
GK 23. Robert Laure-Suprinovic, 21, Chromia Central College University | 6 ft 2 in Mytanar/Chromatik Dual National
GK Jill Swanson, 21 - University of Myana (CMT)
Strengths: Composure, Jumping Reach Weaknesses: Transitionary Play, Readable
Swanson has impressed many a Manager for being unflappable, even at her young age. She needs to improve overall to set herself apart from the crowd that has formed in the position, but this should ben an ample opportunity to do so.

GK Christopher Silverman, 20 - Felswyr State University (CMT) Quebecois/Chromatik Dual National
Strengths: Strength, Direct Kicks Weaknesses: Injury Prone, Temperamental
Silverman went viral a year ago after utterly trash talking both the opposing player and the referee. He has his admirers and his naysayers, but he deserves a spot on this team.

GK Robert Laure-Suprinovic, 21 - Chromia Central College University (CMT) Mytanar/Chromatik Dual National
Strengths: Vision, Reflexes Weaknesses: Strength, Aggression
LAure-Suprinovic has a cool head on his shoulders and reads the game really well - just don't let him get pressured too much, and he can definitely help hold down the fort in matches.

Defensive Backs
RB 2. Park Hyun-Jung, 21, Felswyr State University | 6 ft 2 in
CB 3. Hwan Yoon-Mi, 20, Chromia Central College University | 6 ft 8 in
LB 4. Charlotte Schöner, 20, Z'ai'ai Institute of Technology | 6 ft 1 in
RB 13. Mickaël Leroux, 19, Pùr State University | 6 ft 3 in
CB 14. Kanda Ane, 21, Felswyr State University | 6 ft 6 in
LB 15. RaeAnn Erstwhiler, 21, Urrheddiao State Univeristy | 6 ft 3 in
RB Park Hyun-Jung, 20 - Felswyr State University (CMT)
Strengths: Defensive Positioning, Strength Weaknesses: Speed, Jumping Reach
A defender's defender with all the basic skills, Park can handle almost anyone that comes in her zone. Not the best in transition back to offense, but one always needs at least one player in her role in the backfield.

CB Hwan Yoon-Mi, 20 - Chromia Central College University (CMT)
Strengths: Size, Jumping Reach Weakness: Offensive Positioning, Heading
A tall, physical center back who can stay in the mix with any striker, Hwan is the stereotypical beanstalk that can stop anything thrown her way. She's not very good at the other end of the field, but is that a problem if she's going to play central defender?

LB Charlotte Schöner, 20 - Z'ai'ai Institute of Technology (CMT)
Strengths: Speed, Shooting Weakness: Physicality, Stamina
Charlotte is the latest in the line of offensively-oriented left backs who has pace for days. She isn't the most physical in her defending, but can hound the attacker while trying to steal the ball to kickstart the attack.

RB Mickaël Leroux, 19 - Pùr State University (CMT)
Strengths: Creativity, Ball Control Weaknesses: Clearance, Quickness
An interesting prospect at right back, Leroux isn't afraid of playing the ball in the defensive third. For the longest time, people wanted him to transition to defensive midfielder, but he's stuck at his favored position.

CB Kanda Ane, 21 - Felswyr State University (CMT)
Strengths: Size, Physicality Weakness: Quickness, Temperamental
In three seasons with the Firehawks, Ane has broken the CCFA record for most yellow cards accumulated and fouls committed. She's a hard-nosed, no-nonsense defensive player who loves to give other players well-earned bruises. The trick is to keep her head in the game while letting her play at the high, physical level.

LB RaeAnn Erstwhiler, 21 - Urrheddiao State University (CMT)
Strengths: Pace, Stamina Weakness: Positioning, Cerebral Play
Erstwhiler never gets tired and always plays hard for all ninety minutes. She can get lost in positioning and not make the smartest decisions at times, but she has the wheels to move up and down the field with ease.

Midfielders
RM 5. Lars Frederick Jones, Jr., 21, Urrheddiao State University | 6 ft 4 in
CM 6. Igerne Félix, 20, Z'ai'ai Institute of Technology | 5 ft 9 in
CM 7. Saskia Druppelmandel, 21, Felswyr State University | 6 ft 2 inKo-orenite/Chromatik Dual National
LM 8. Nemes Mátyás, 19, Lanar University | 6 ft 5 in
RM 16. Laurentia Chiriac, 19, Staramara Tech University | 6 ft 4 in
CM/DM 17. Cassandra van der Borght, 20, Pùr State University | 6 ft 1 in
CM 18. Jamie de Monoghela, 19, Eyrods Tech | 5 ft 11 in Quebecois/Chromatik Dual National
LM 19. Róża Panaś, 20, Pùr State University | 6 ft 3 in
RM Lars Frederick Jones, Jr., 21 - Urrheddiao State University (CMT)
Strengths: Speed, Offensive Positioning Weaknesses: Shooting, Defensive Positioning
A speedy right midfielders who can't really shoot, Jones has considerable amount of flair, especially for a Chromatik.

CM Igerne Félix, 21 - Z'ai'ai Institute of Technology (CMT)
Strengths: Physicality, Shooting Weaknesses: Quickness, Injury Prone
Félix can get by people, shoot the ball from range, and really press on the attack - as long as it won't involve too much quickness

CM Saskia Drupplemandel, 21 - Felswyr State University (CMT) Ko-orenite/Chromatik Dual National
Strengths: Versatility, Passing Weaknesses: Size, Stamina
A great all-around midfielder, Druppelmandel's biggest strength is that she doesn't really have a weakness for seventy minutes every game. She often times will start to slow down if she's left in for the whole game, but that can be easily remedied. A very cerebral player.

LM Nemes Mátyás, 19 - Lanar University (CMT)
Strengths: Set Pieces, Shooting Weaknesses: Positioning, Physicality
The sniper on this squad, Nemes can score from anywhere, and isn't afraid to try.

RM Laurentia Chiriac, 19 - Staramara Tech University (CMT)
Strengths: Crossing, Shooting Weaknesses: Pace, Positioning
A confident player who's great at setting up for the shot or shooting it herself with her wicked left foot.

CM Cassandra van der Borght, 20 - Pùr State University (CMT)
Strengths: Physicality, Defensive Positioning Weaknesses: Quickness, Shooting
A better-than-average defensive midfielder with solid positioning and physicality to boot, Van Der Borght is very good at decking key players of the opposition to the pitch - cleanly, of course.

CM Jamie de Monoghela, 19 - Eyrods Tech (CMT) Quebecois/Chromatik Dual National
Strengths: Shooting, Quickness Weaknesses: Physicality, Durability
More of an attacking midfielder who can contribute to the attack, work well with the front three, and if needed, take the shot.

LM Róża Panaś, 20 - Pùr State University (CMT)
Strengths: Passing, Stamina Weakness: Shooting, Speed
Róża isn't the fastest nor the most creative on the pitch, but she can often be treated as the last line of defense - being that player that is between the attack and the defense. She isn't afraid of getting her hands dirty if the occasion calls for it, either.

Forwards
RW 9. William Delapio, 21, Eyrods Tech | 5 ft 7 in
ST 10. Elaine Howard-Dawes, 20, Z'ai'ai Institute of Technology | 6 ft 4 in Quebecois/Chromatik Dual National CAPTAIN
LW 11. Anne-Sophie D'Aboville, 20, Eyrods Tech | 6 ft 3 in
RW 20. Annemarije van der Wel, 20, Pria Technical College | 6 ft 7 in
ST 21. Ryn Jaxon, 21, University of Wirr Tsi | 5 ft 11 in
LW 22. Willemieke Jannissen op Colmans, 20, Felswyr State University | 6 ft 2 in
RW William Delapio, 20 - Eyrods Tech (CMT)
Strengths: Pure Speed, Positioning Weaknesses: Physicality, Fades Late
The speedster of the bunch who fades late in matches. Great in bursts.

ST Elaine Howard-Dawes, 19 - Z'ai'ai Institute of Technology (CMT) Quebecois/Chromatik Dual National
Strengths: Killer Instinct, Shots Weaknesses: Getting by Defenders, Speed
The scorer of the team who is lethal from close to midrange, as long as she doesn't need to get past someone to achieve that shot.

LW Anne-Sophie D'Aboville, 20 - Eyrods Tech (CMT)
Strengths: Crossing, Shooting Weaknesses: Physicality, Agility
A one-directional winger who, when she makes up her mind to go one direction, overcommits. Needs specific game plans to help her shine, but when she does, she absolutely does.

RW Annemarije van der Wel, 20 - Pria Technical College (CMT)
Strengths: Clutch Shots, Heading Weaknesses: Crossing, Team Play
An enigma of sorts, van der Wel, when playing nice with her teammates, is a model citizen that can be an asset to any team, doing well late in matches with the game on the line. However, if the opposition can get in her head, she can become a toxic liability.

ST Ryn Jaxon, 20 - University of Wirr Tsi (CMT)
Strengths: Physicality, Quickness Weaknesses: Headstrong, Injury Prone
The striker who can actually get through the defender to get a shot on goal.

LW Willemieke Jannissen op Colmans, 20 - Felswyr State University (CMT)
Strengths: Pace, Stamina Weaknesses: Shooting, Heading
An unconventional winger who is more of a support character than a scorer. He's very good at setting up that goal, though.

Usual Starting Lineup:
SWANSON
PARK - HWAN - SCHÖNER
FREDERICK JONES - FÉLIX - DRUPPELMANDEL - MÁTYÁS
DELAPIO - HOWARD-DAWES (C) - D'ABOVILLE

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my Lineup: No. I will be listing the starting lineup for each match at the end of each RP. You can choose my subs, though.

Football Federation of Huayramarca

Image

Official Roster for the 55th Di Bradini Cup

About Huayramarcan Grassroots Football: Huayramarca has been known for being one of the few countries that hasn’t invested (until now) in forming footballers for its future, for having little to no infrastructure to promote players. Aside from the lucky ones that decide to test themselves in the already existing Liga 1-2-3 teams, without having a formal approach to tactics or real discipline, that jump to the top teams and try to fight for a position in the Senior National Team, there’s need to forge a new identity, as there’s growing awareness among fans and FA directors that Huayramarca will need, soon, a generational shift.

Things had to change and that’s where Omar Caicedo and Rodolfo Zelaya appeared suggesting, to the Huayramarcan FA, a new approach to prepare the talent across the regions of this vast nation and help them transition into the Senior NT, as its obvious that we won’t have Bryan Tello, Ian Mamani, Gabriel Sayritupac, Kevin Quispe or Juan Mamani for our entire lifetimes. In 1986, just about to begin the World Cup 91, the project was created and had plans to find a new manager for the Grassroots National Teams, one that would be a connoisseur of the methods utilised by Omar and Rodolfo, as that would be important to make a seamless transition through the entire National Team ecosystem proposed.

Many potential candidates took part from a course where the basics of the to-be-instituted-style were taught and refined among them, pretty much like a zero-to-hero course for many of them that would feature a capstone project, where they would not only showcase their abilities and what they learned, also challenged their understanding of the proposed tactics. After three months, a new name popped up, and that was Marcos Álvarez for the U-18 side and Luis Díaz for the U-21 one, both will be working together to gather feedback and improve their tactics towards the process required to let the players ready for the expected National Team jump.

The project took more time to start and fly, it was the year of 1987 when the reality seemed to begin a slow change, as the Huayramarcan Football Association put the program to work, asking the manager of this U-18 side, Marcos Álvarez, to create a roadmap to put his team into work and in rhythm for tournaments across the Multiverse to showcase them. After some work, he decided to take the ideas of Omar Caicedo when it comes to tactics, search for footballers across the whole nation and then sign Huayramarca for the prestigious RTC U-18 World Cup as a beginning for this team, one that will provide the players a good experimentation field to let their tactic framework function properly, against some of the top squads across the Multiverse, then the project will continue with the Di Bradini Cup and so on, as the players gather valuable experience for the future.

From those trials and scouting done, a group of 27 players have appeared for the U-18 and U-21 projects, but age constraints have forced the pool to increase its size to 39 players, as the FA has asked to send 26 players as a minimum to each tournament. This new pool features some interesting footballers, from fast ones, tough and technical, dual nationals who switched allegiance to Huayramarca and people from the very last corner of the nation, making sure to gather a good representation from everybody, be it Huayramarcans or people who are searching for a new opportunity in this country.

After the dismissal of Omar Caicedo and Rodolfo Zelaya, the project took a drastic change with the help of Blâás Âgínsôgnó, a Rulandese manager that in one of the weirdest movements possible, decided to take a new challenge and asked the Huayamarcan FA to be the manager of the entire NT structure, while Omar Caicedo covered his position in Dí Maozökê. Âgínsôgnó has decided to speed-up the process for new players in the Huayramarcan National Team, by teaching them the principles needed for them to break up into the ranks of the Condors in a future, as the team might need new blood sooner than later.

How We Play Football?

At simple glance, things doesn't seem that had changed a lot after Omar Caicedo left the national team, and so his ideals for the future prospects. Huayramarca has decided to brand her own style of football embracing offensiveness, courage and grit under the label of fulbo total, in an attempt to take Huayramarca back to her roots of football, just making some enhancements that will make this system competitive enough to be a competitive force.

Fulbo is a common mispelling for fútbol in the Huayramarcan dialect of Spanish, also refered as the way that people grow in the streets, neighbourhoods and all places of Huayramarca use to play the sport. In the traditional sense, Huayramarcan football tends to be physical, both in strength, and intensity that is required to perform in an OK level. From the random dusty pitches in the highlands to the state-of-the-art premises that some stadiums boast across the nation, players are asked to never give up, to give everything they can in order to achieve victory; to the point of exploit loopholes in the football rules for their advantage.

Centrebacks are used to be relatively strong, as they will also try to outpace their rivals in physical strength, displaying rudeness and being prone to perform some harsh tackling when needed; there's no fear to get carded, it's a matter of avoiding the rival to score against their team. People in the villages often use an idiom to refer to what they accept as a good centreback "Either the ball or the player, but not both." Another main treat of them is that they tend to provoke or annoy rivals by trash-talking, trying to disconnect them from the match and make their own duties easier. Often, they will play near the midfield in order to force the rest of the team to press the rivals, limiting the playing area to the rival's half.

Sidebacks are one of the most important links of the team, as they don't restrict themselves to defend, they can often liberate pressure from the centrebacks by pushing the ball forward, be it through individuality or large crosses to the midfielder or the wingers. They use to have a nice speed and great spamina, enough to perform box-to-box routines frequently; they also link up with wingers when attacking through the sides, often engaging in a quick pass succession that leads to crossing the ball to the forward or a second-striker awaiting outside the area. Speed is useful for them, as they must be able to retreat and guarantee defensive numeric superiority when the rival tries to do a counter attack.

Midfielders: Although there are two clear roles here, being the destroyer and the playmaker, it can also be said that the role is pretty much indistinctive from who does it, as every one in this zone of the pitch is required to switch roles according to the scenario they might be facing at any moment; that's why this position is the most flexible under the big scheme of things in fulbo. As the name say, the destroyer is in charge to destroy any linking from the midfielders to the attackers when the Condors are protecting themselves from a counter, or avoid connections between defenders and the midfielders while the team is attacking, they can either tackle with clinical finesse or just aim to the rival's ankle, it all depends on how good they consider their rival, the better they are, the harsher will the destroyers act against those players.

The playmakers, in the other hand, can either be completely egocentrical or collaborative, that will depend of the very own personal treats of whoever takes the role in a very specific circumstance. Âgínsôgnó has given freedoms to the players in order to attack freely going in solos if they see a chance through, deliver the ball to a player that might be able to continue the idea of attacking or, simply, hold the ball until an opening appears or switching to destroyer and letting another player to find a gap that they might not notice.

Attackers: Tradition mandates two wingers and a spearhead, a forward that cautiously awaits a pass to slot it home. The wingers are instructed to serve the attacker or go through the defence and force a chance for themselves to score, similar to the defenders but not with the leeway to change sides, no, only instructions to provide enough tools for their decision-making process and promote more diverse ideas rather than focusing in a way to break through brute force. Âgínsôgnó also asks the attackers to bethe first line of defence of the National Team when the rivals commence a play, always through pincer plays or support from the creative midfielder; sometimes, the attackers can drop some metres to help in ball recovery efforts, then to start an attack with the help of the creative attacker.

The new Huayramarcan National Team, under the ideals of Âgínsôgnó, tries to makre sure that the ball can be held in the half of the rival team, as much as possible under Huayramarcan control, trying to create chances to break through the defence and score, or simply move the ball and cause fatigue on their rival as they try to chase the ball in vain. This style requires a lot of concentration from the players, stamina and need to collaborate and decide in a short time span, as dynamism is the name of the game, to never run out of ideas and outsmart the rival.

Without further ado, the starting XI and substitutes are presented in the following tables:

Álvarez took one thing seriously while searching players for the team, he wanted the fastest ones possible when it comes to decision-making processes and physical speed, something this team really exploits in the wings from Cochachi and Caicedo who sometimes go up and help to attacking duties, then they return as fast as possible. They are always supported by a quite strong defensive core in the shape of Adame and Arteaga, who tend to play strong and borderline when it comes to the rules, both possess a good aerial game, but Arteaga can be a bit loose while marking rivals.

In the midfield, Mamani and Huanca often switch roles, as they can protect the playmaker and brain of the team Cedeño, or help him to distribute the game to the wings with Matsabanda and Mendoza who are lethal with speeds and have different specialties, as Matsabanda can be good while getting into the area and dribbling players to seek a chance for himself, or Mendoza who is a specialist with crossing passes to the attackers. Sometimes, the midfield might rely on the defenders to create chances, then pass the ball to Cedeño who might also try a shot from mid-range, something he’s good at. If we assess weaknesses of the team, Huanca tends to be delicate while marking due to his proneness to injuries, Cedeño might lose temper if provoked and Mamani could go harsh when tackling.

The wingers have the sole mission of feeding Alszeghy with passes, Lucien might always take every chance to score a goal, as he is pretty much always in the right spot to push the ball into the net, an opportunist like the legendary Bryan Tello, he could be marked heavily but he will always find the way to shoot and score. Alszeghy has good skills with set-pieces and mid-range shoots, although not good when it comes to penalty kicks and, lastly, he’s regular with the aerial game, might always help.

The Kits: Huayramarca’s social mindset is to aim for local consumption in the long term, hence the HFF decided to hire “eva Sportswear” to manufacture the kits for the national team. “eva” decided to take the ball out of the park with some unique designs for Huayramarca, reflecting the national identity and adding up some motivational phrases on them for mere sake of marketing. Those kits are based on the geography of this nation, from the coast to the highlands and jungle to promote a sense of national unity, especially on a stage that the national team might try to do something decent in their first World Cup Qualifiers venture.

As backgrounds, you might notice some decent spots that Huayramarca has to offer, such as Uyuni's salt lake with some astrophotography in it, Huayna Picchu's monument to Inti (Sun), Lake Quilotoa (an old volcano near the city of Tulcán), Puerto Odriozola at the San Carlos Islands, the Ojos del Salado Volcano with a lavender field and then, the second flag of the Plurinational Republic, the Wiphala, a representation of the old Incaic glory of Huayramarca and banner of the Aymara and Quechua nationalities.

“eva” decided to depict elements that provide some sense of pride and national identification for Huayramarcans, no matter where they from are, those are universal icons of what Huayramarca is and its roots. Strong roots, strong legacy, and strong people forging their future with pride and hope.
