I've just realized that nobody has mentioned going for a cheeky one.
Its a very English expression.
"Alright Dave, we haven't got much left to do as we're waiting for this concrete to set. Fancy a cheeky one?"
It implies that you're off to the pub as work has finished early and you can nip for a few swift pints and get home at your usual time without the family knowing.
Its cheeky as often it turns into more than 2 pints and you suddenly realise its 6pm and the traffic is raging.
You can also go for a "cheeky nandos".
" I'm hungry, fancy a cheeky nandos?"
Knowing that other people will be disappointed that they also didn't get to eat delicious chicken at Nandos you go off just the 2 or 3 of you as it just happened to be on the route to where you're going.
"This wedding is going to be long. Hey, look, a Nandos"
"Better make it a cheeky one we dont want to be late"
On the subject of Nandos, here's a joke
Who was the first chicken in space?
Apollo
"A pollo"...
This was your public information broadcast from Suth Seaxe. I hope you raiders take this new knowledge of the English language back to your home regions.
And to all you liberators, I owe you a cheeky one
