WELCOME TO THE 105th WORLDVISION SONG CONTEST!
WELCOME TO GĦAIN!
MALTA COMINO GOZO

Image

Welcome everybody to Malta Comino Gozo's fourth hosting of the WorldVision Song Contest! This time the contest is stepping away from the nation's capital of Valletta to the vibrant island of Għain! Għain will be hosting Malta Comino Gozo's 30th anniversary since joining the WorldVision Song Contest in Rosario in the Achaean Republic!

On all TV sets around the multiverse, the theme for the Worldvision Song Contest plays out followed by the melodic indent for the WorldVision 105 live from Għain, Malta Comino Gozo. The galaxy and floating triangles fly outwards displaying the logo for the contest.

The camera fades to black but is full of live audio of the outdoor arena screaming and applauding excitedly as the contest begins. Played out for the viewers at home and we cut to the introduction video. Two young women adorned in party wear from Elejamie show their support and how eager they are to be in Għain. A Britonish fan in shades encapsulates the sentiment of the contest by describing how countries will be Breaking Boundaries with fans and flags from all over the multiverse present tonight. As he does we have shots of the host's flags followed by a mixed group of people who are obviously here for the party vibe in their swimwear holding, an Achaen Republic and Alezian Union Flag which flutters on their shoulders. A Beepean lad expresses the WorldVision family feel before we cut to a StrayaRoosian fan showing their delight and excitement for the contest.

The video cuts to the picturesque turquoise drone view of the Blue Lagoon in Comino before we cut to a party boat and a view of a group of young ladies from Waisnor arriving on the island. They express their delight to the camera! The video continues. A group of fans, from absolutely anywhere board the bus to take them to the main venue. The same Waisnorian girl screams cheerfully back at the camera as she boards. The excitement builds.

The camera fades this time to the beautiful coastline of Northwest Gozo, looking out from the coast towards the calm sea and the cliffs which rise dramatically from the depths. The camera cuts. More shots of fans from Carrelie, Uthossia and Aenglide holding hands and high-fiving on arrival. Walking down a sunny sub-tropical path alongside the sea a group of fanatics filmed in slow motion with an Erie Arcadian flag and Beepean flag frolic along under the lofty palm trees palms.

As the music builds a group of young attractive women dance and spin and make their way through the queuing system to enter the main arena each one plays to the camera. Audible cheers build as they sprint down the stairs into the main event, one young woman even slides down the handrail! A sped-up shot now shows thousands of fans arriving and scurrying along like ants as we cut to an aerial shot showing them packing in from the pier into the main fan pit. We now see the fantastic arena from high up filling up fast, the actual video sped up, the people like ants the lights on stage twinkling in the evening sun. The drone slowly moves towards the stage.

A swinging shot from behind two male DJs displays the magnitude of the arena. They get the crowd ready. We camera cuts to several shots. A tall DJ clothed in a white t-shirt raises his left hand skyward. A young male WV fan flings his head upwards, the sun gleaming off his black sunglasses. He embraces the sounds. The beat drops.

The camera pulls out showing the entire stage as fire shoots out powerfully across the roof of the stage into the cloudless sky and steam vents explode across the edges of the stage before we cut to a view of a DJ in a plain black t-shirt from behind the steam vents mixing his tapes and grooving to the beat. We cut to a frontal shot, his free arm pumping into the air, his fist clenched. Engaging with the music we see a bunch of girls, their faces adorned with face gems that glitter and sheen. Their hair whips back and forth as they dance. We cut to a middle age man with an MCG flag proudly opened behind him his tongue sticking out playfully before a quick shot of more of the crowd. A blonde-haired dancer on stage with shades busts some moves in slow motion to the beat before a view of another DJ in shades in the inverted pyramid to the back of the stage this time wearing a grey tank top. The rest of the

A wide panoramic shot gives us a shot of the whole stage and the heaving crowd. Flags are soaring above the excited spectators' heads. Three huge inflatable beach balls bounce around in the breeze, amongst the audience who hit them happily. K-Lyn's whispers echo out into the sunlit crowd as she introduces Federiku Cutajar followed by Federiku introducing K-Lyn.

Whistles and cheers can be heard from the crowd. K-Lyn is off-stage for now. Federiku at the centre back plays his decks the camera panning towards him smoothly. His caramel brown hair was scruffy and he was wearing an off-red t-shirt The camera cuts to various slow-motion shots of the crowd soaking up the music. Another panoramic shot from the back shows us a glimpse of some light fluffy clouds just floating gently off on the horizon behind the stage. The palm trees poking up in the distance sway gently in the warm evening breeze. Another shot this time from the DJ booth looking out shows us how enormous the crowd is. The crowd can be heard cheering.

Federiku Cutajar and K-Lyn!
Take the fall, together we will crush the walls
We won't stop until we see the new horizon
If we believe in the courage of our destiny
Let our souls dance underneath the stars that light up

Federiku raises his hands as the lights strobe around the arena. A shot from behind shows him clapping in rhythm to the song. When he begins clapping the audience claps back in unison

With every breath we'rе running free
Breaking barriers so we can see
The power of our dreams
We're breaking boundaries

The synths begin and the arena is electric as K-lyn walks onto centre stage to huge cheers. She is clad in beautiful silk white dress with a huge bow resting on her right shoulder. A golden strap holds the dress around the middle. There was a warmth her brown hair brought to her features, a simple frame for that smile and eyes that held more love than she would ever admit to. The hue altered as the strands curled and moved, as free as autumn leaves playing in the sunshine. The beat thunders and so do the blazing yellow lights that shoot out from all edges of the stage like lasers. The camera follows her as she walks to the edge of the stage. She holds the notes flawlessly.

Together we'll see victory
When we conquer all our fears we'll see
The power of our dreams
We're breaking boundaries

The camera zooms out as huge paper confetti cannons explode over the audience's heads and rain down softly as the beat pulsates. The reverberations shake the crowd! We have several shots of the crowd soaking up the clubbing beat, before an amazing shot of the stage from the back with the confetti raining down slowly caught in the evening breeze. The music fades out to deafening cheers.

We're breaking boundaries
Ohhh.... Ohh... Ohh!!
We're breaking boundaries

The elated crowd scream and cheers deafeningly. Federiku Cutajar and K-Lyn join hands and bow together. Thrilled with their opening performance they beam proudly.

Studio: Ladies and Gentlemen! Please, give it up for your hosts for this evening's show! Cika Mizzi and Samuel Zarb!!

The logo and music play out accompanied by gentle yet considerably large pyro fountains on the edges of the stage as the hosts walked onto the stage through the inverted triangle, holding each other hands. The audience reacted by shouting and cheering joyfully. The Malta Comino Gozoan audience members cheer even more so for their favourite hosts.

Cika: Cliche I know but MCG has a habit of putting on a bit of a club vibe when it comes to WorldVision openings! That was "Breaking Boundaries" by DJ Federiku Cutajar who you may remember from WorldVision 85 in Valletta and K-lyn back from WorldVision 99!

Samuel: That we do, and I mean why would we miss the opportunity to have a club banger on this fabulous open-air stage?

The crowd cheers!

Samuel: Anyways! Hello! Good Evening and Il-lejl it-tajjeb Għain! I am Samuel Zarb!

Cika: And Bonswa! I am Ciki Mizzi! We are thrilled to have you in Malta Comino Gozo for the fourth time! And this time we have our own idyllic island to ourselves! Worldvision island, aka Għain!

Samuel: How does it feel to have the contest back in your "Homeland" Cika?

She laughs along with the audience.

Cika: I'm over the moon! It is an absolute treat to be back here and to host with you, Samuel!

An audible "Aww" rings out from the audience and Samuel blushes and smiles.

Samuel: It's a dream to be hosting with you too CIka! Malta Comino Gozo has hosted this prestigious competition four times, with three of those being hosted in Valletta our vibrant and exquisite capital.

Cika: And why host indoors when you have a sub-tropical island available?

Samuel: Indeed! Anyway, 32 countries are Breaking Boundaries here tonight! And boy do we have a diverse mix for you tonight!

Image

Image

Cika: You guys at home have an enormously important part to play. You along with your national juries determine the winner of tonight's show!

Samuel: Yes 50% of all the scores tonight will come from the national juries and 50% from you guys the viewers!

Cika: You can vote up to 10 times for your favourite songs! You can vote by landline mobile or even the WV app! And with that are we ready?!

The camera pulls back from the stage as the crow roars deafeningly before we cut back to our hosts.

Cika & Samuel: LET THE 105TH WORLDVISION SONG CONTEST... BEGIN!!

Fireworks shoot out around the edges of the crowds and stage high into the skies in an explosion of colours.

Having taken some time away from the 104th song contest NRP are back. Public outcry in Norrp was negative due to the fact Julian had scored the country's best result finishing 11th so people could not understand why the broadcaster had decided against taking part in the next song contest. Norrp sadly had barely troubled the left side of the scoreboard in Worldvision and public opinions were torn for participating and withdrawing completely. To do better NRP decided to internally choose their song as they always have but with music professionals aiding them in the search for a suitable act.

Image
Manuel Stäbler

Manuel Stäbler, born in Flaledo in 1987 is famous for his Norrpian multi-Gold-certified debut album Wenn Worte Meine Sprache Wären (released in 2011), he is also known for his popular 2013 recording Am Seidenen Faden. His hit pop singles include "Nur Noch Kurz die Welt Retten" and "Programmiert."

He began playing the guitar and writing songs in his teens and won a talent contest that allowed him to play to a house of twenty thousand on the Flaledo Waldbühne concert stage. After opening for the Norrp rock band RSVP123, he launched his career as a solo artist. Manuel says that he hopes his song " inspires and motivates people to do there best."

The country was the first chosen act to perform on the amazing stage and would open the contest. For most of the opening, Manuel was backstage getting his microphone ready. The hosts said the famous words "Let the Worldvision Song Contest begin!" and Manuel made his way onto the dark stage as the crowd went crazy!! He waves as he went to the starter maker on the stage. The sun was beating down in the evening sky and the location made for an attractive backdrop.

The dreamy like music begins. Manuel stands centre stage with his eyes closed. Suddenly the choir at the back of the stage begins to sing. The camera on stage stays with him as he sings. The white lights flash to the beat behind him. he plays with his cufflinks and begins to sing. He is looking stunning with his slick gelled hair.

Keep moving, learning how to follow a trail
I can sense that some old forgotten love is gonna crush me
But not the kinda love that will be in vain
I wanna love, love you forever!

He winks and jokingly kicks the camera way. The camera pans towards the stage over the audience heads.

You better make my moving down
Smack that skirt, I love the way you walk

For the chorus, The lights flash white behind him accompanied by the screens all being snowy white. He moves around the stage with enthusiasm and swagger. Then he points out to the crowds to hype the crowds. He sways his hips as he boogies. The choir supports his vocals. For the last line, a pink love heart outline is laid out over all the screens as the camera shows us a view of the whole stage, the heart laying over every screen.

Girl, we love the way we love!
We love, we love the way we love!
It goes like a boogie and we love the beat
How does your love remain?

There's instrumental before he sings again. The camera follows him on stage as he swaggers around. The stage is now navy blue. He raises his hand and yellow comic stars begin to appear all over the screens. The camera zooms away from him for the chorus.

Hand and hand you made the sunshine
And now we shine the love was in the stars
Girl, we love the way we love!
How does how does your love remain?

We have a side shot of his left side as he look towards the onstage camera with a confident attitude. he smiles sexily at the camera to make the people cheer.

You showed me love and you never ask for more
Tonight is when we start again who we are
Yet I'm in love with you
Yet I'm in love with you
You better make me move down
Smack that skirt, I love the way how you walk!

Again for the chorus, the lights flash white behind him accompanied by the screens all being snowy white. He moves around the stage with enthusiasm and swagger. He sways his hips and moves his upper body dancing to the beat. He is enjoying the music. The choir supports his vocals. For the last line, a pink love heart outline is laid out over all the screens as the camera shows us a view of the whole stage, the heart laying over every screen. He moves his body to the beat.

Girl, we love the way we love
We love, we love the way we love
It goes like a boogie and we love the beat
How does your love remain?

The stage sparkles white as the camera pans across. The whole time he remains happy and moves his free arm left to right whilst dancing to the beat. His feet slide across the stage in a really cool way as he shows of some not over the top dance moves.

Just to make sweet love...
Now we love each other so much!
Girl, we love the way we love
We love, we love the way we love

The beat calms as the screen stay white as the camera captures a face shot as he sings towards the cam operator.

It goes like boogie and we love the beat
How does your love remain?
Girl, we love the way we love

The lights flash white in time to the drum beat and they all start dancing in a circle around him, their white dresses floating around as they danced. The camera hovers just above them. Manuel waves his arm ups and down with his fists clenched playfully. The lights flash white in time to the drum beat. The choir's vocals are beautiful. The choir disperses to his sides and he sings to the boom camera that is head on. For the last line we have a camera shot close up as he finishes singing his song.

We love, we love the way we love
It goes like a boogie and we love the beat
It goes like a boogie and we love the beat
How does your love remain?

"Danke Għain!!" he waves to the audience!! They all leave for the next song.

Information about the Song

The Song was based on the Upcoming 2023 Movie called "A Maid's Life", in which, it was set to be released on March 2023, where the film has discussing about the Lives of 3 Maids who are working for a Rich Fatimanian Royal Family that was living on a Mansion somewhere in Valle Verde, Indo City, in which, they discussed about their Hard but happy and simple Life as a Maids of the Rich Family, who owns the Richest Company in Fatimania.

One of the Movie's Directors and Composers of this Song, Cristopher Lingad has decided to put this Song on the Previous First Edition of the Pambansang Muni 2023, in which, it had won the National Finale of Fatimania and then put into the WorldVision Song Contest. Lingad has hoped that the Introduction and Entry of the Theme Song for "A Maid's Life" would not just make the Girl Trio Band from Fatimania to win the 105th WorldVision Song Contest, but also to promote the Upcoming Film to the world and also to gather more fans for this upcoming film.

The Actual Performance

During the Performance, the Dancers and the 3 Singers entered the Stage dancing on Steps, in which, the dancers worn Pink Maid Dresses while the 3 Singers, Elena Marie Cuseta, Stephanie DeLasscher and Serena Patricia Valsino-Tan are wearing Blue Maid Dresses during the Intro of the Song, in which, Elena Marie Cuseta was holding a Broom, Stephanie DeLasscher was wearing a Blue Rubber Gloves and she holds a Spray Bottle, and Serena Patricia Valsino-Tan was holding a towel, until the song's lyrics began.

Elena Marie: Kdýž som sa zobudilě, robíňa rovnaké domácka práče ako slúžky v tomtév domká a robíňa řaňajky pře tútok rodinu a spoločně upratujem tenky dom.
Stephanie: Ale ako veľa dní přichádža, všetko je totálňa ťažšiňa a niekědy náročňé, nevě, čo mám řobiť, keď to bude veľmí ťažké a ťažšie?

As i woke up, i do the same house chores as the maids do in this house, and i make Breakfast for this Family and clean this house together.
But as many days is coming, everything gets totally harder and sometimes challenging, I don't know what should i do when it gets very harder and harder?

As the First Verse (or Intro), They proceed into the Chorus part of the song by dancing again while singing, which it is the same dance, but it ends with a Pirouette.

Together: Ale nie! Čo mám řobiť, kdýž som to neurobil?
Čo mám robiť, kdýž som ako chyžňá urobouří chybu?
Byť slúžkouří v životňa je veľmi ťažkě, ale zřučná přáča, ale ja som v tajtó přáči nová!
Ale nie! Čo mám řobiť, kdýž som to neurobil?
Čo mám robiť, kdýž som ako chyžňá urobouří chybu?
Mûj život chyžňěj začíně tu..

Oh, No! What i should i do when i haven't done this?
What should i do when i made a Mistake as a maid?
Life's being a Maid is very hard but skillful work, but i am new to this work!
Oh, No! What i should i do when i haven't done this?
What should i do when i made a Mistake as a maid?
My Life of being a Maid begins here..

After the Main Chorus, the 2 Singers and the 3 Dancers disappear from the stage as one Dancer and Serena Patricia Valsino-Tan has began the "Serving the Lunch" scene, where Serena was holding a Tray of Lunch Meals and Side Dishes, in which, in the middle of the Second Verse, she dropped the tray, causing the food to fall into the floor and drinks began to spill after the food tray has been fell, and the dancer has been trying to clean it up until the end of the second verse.

Serena: Raz som dovařěl obed pře túto rodiné a bol som připravený našěřovírovať iniel jedla v jedálna. Uřobil som svojá dokonalosť, aby som uvařěl toto jedle pře rodinu, aby veděli, že sú ohřomení mojěmi kuchárskymi šopnosťami (oh oh oh)
Ale kdýž som náhodou spaděl podněš, iňá slúžka mi pomohla upřatať neporiadok a povedal som rodiňě, že sa ospřavedlňujem za neporiadak, ktorý som uřobil, a odpúšťajú mi, ale povedali mi, aby som to vždy urobil perfektne, naměsto toho si objednali jedlě prostredníctvom dodávky...

One time, i had finished cooking the Lunch for this family, and i was ready to serve the food for them at the dining room. I did my perfection to cook this food for the family so they will know that they are impressed on my cooking skills (oh oh oh)
But when i dropped the tray accidentally, a another maid helped me to clean up the mess, and i told the family that i apologize for the mess that i did, and they forgive me, but they told me to make it perfect always, as they ordered food thru deliver instead...

As the Second Verse ends, they dance in the different way unlike the First Chorus does, in which, they stood still and stomp their Left Feet as the Singers listen tune of the Second Chorus as the dancers do and singing the chorus, and after the Second Chorus, there is a Dance Number that was similar to the First Chorus Dance, but with Motion, Pirouettes and Step dancing.

The Bridge Part of the song begins with the same dance as the first chorus.

And the Last Part of the Song is the Third and Last Chorus of the song, where they still dance as they sing.

After the song ends, the Maids (including both the Singers and the Dancers) had their high fives, as Stephanie says "Perfektné! (Perfect)" and as the lights began to fade, they began to clean the Mess in the Stage, as the Next Performance would be Axuva.

Axuva Today Network [ATN] Today we announce that the Axuvian Government now recognizes The Russian Language as an Official Language, Korean and English were spoken in the beginning, but there were Russians too, russians were forgotten and their language were not recognized due to the things they did in the past, but now their language is a official language of Axuva, and there will now be 3 official languages instead of two.

4. Robloxian Robloxia

Draca
"BOIZZ"

Moniki (From Stockwaves) - Bananas!
Also feel free to abbr. us as R. Robloxia

Who is Draca? One may ask that perpetuating question. To put it simply, Draca is an international superstar with over 900 quadrillion followers on tiktok. One of her most famous tiktok videos is titled "POV: Draca smacks you with a hammer" and "POV: You're at my audition to be at my music video" both receiving centillions of views. Draca is extremely vain and egotistical, only caring about herself and her tiktok platform. She has been described as bossy, sassy, lazy, and even mean. Some consider her a psycho, and claim that she has tried to kill her "boiz" eleven times. One person even claimed that she hired Michael Myers to kill her "boiz". However because of her immense influence, these claims are factually incorrect.

Draca has been interested in WorldVision ever since Robloxian Robloxia debut back in WorldVision 102. She was the spokesperson for Robloxian Robloxia and gave the points. In WorldVision 103, she attempted to make an entry but eventually gave up because she was too stressed saying that "I am stressed because I think my bank vault may open without my consent..." In truth, her bank vault did open, but from the inside, as if someone was trying to escape from the bank vault.

Draca decided to make a song about her "BOIZZ". Boiz is what she calls her dancers, Rainboi, Lunarboi, Goldboi, and Funboi. She always shows her "boiz" in her tiktok dance challenge. Some suspect that she is holding them hostage in her basement, but no one knows.

Image
Draca

Draca enters the stage with her usual gucci, luis vutton clothing.
Can my boiz eat fruit yeah?
They are so healthy
Can my boiz eat fruit yeah?
They are so healthy
Can my boiz eat fruit yeah?
They are so healthy
The Dance Boiz, The Dance Boiz, The Dance Boiz

She dances beautifully. The audience likes it. They think its better than R. Robloxia's last entry.

They go missing but
They cannot escape
They go missing but
They cannot escape
They go missing but
They cannot escape
The Dance Boiz, The Dance Boiz, The Dance Boiz

on the lcd screen it shows bananas randomly. the audience likes the background. Draca and her boiz continue dancing

boiz-boiz-boiz-boiz-boiz
boiz-boiz-boiz-boiz-boiz
boiz-boiz-boiz-boiz-boiz
boizboizboizboiz-boizz!

Draca and her boiz continue dancing. It looks like a high cardio workout.

yeah-I need my boiz yeah
can you help to find my boiz yeah
They cannot escape from me
They dance boiz the dance boiz the dance boiz

At the end Draca gives out a breath of relief and says "VOTE FOR ME!!! NYAHAHAHAHA"

5. Spiritual Republic of Caryton
Latanya Anderson - Second Chances
Image
Latanya Anderson's single cover.

She's back, after a successful run in WV100 in which she scored 11th place. Caryton's most widely known and internationally-beloved artist, Latanya Anderson, outbidded the Shirleyton Trio to represent the country in this landmark edition. Having spent the past few months abroad in Deportedas, she gathered inspiration and constructive criticism to take home to Georgine. She came in order to present Caryton's first contemporary break-up song.

In a twinkling white array of lights, a somber teal backdrop was illumined, with Latanya slaying in this blue teardrop dress. She also has blue lipstick, which is a first for many Carytonic women. She wears a white undershirt in turtleneck style for modesty, without sacrificing style. She poses with her arms crossed, like a lover scorned. She opens with a simple question:

"Ready for the happiest breakup song this edition?"

The audience responds with applause. The music begins.

I’m still feeling great, even though you say “we’re over baby.”
Packed my stuff away, knew you wouldn’t stay, loving other ladies.
But I’ve got my integrity, I’m finally free.
Regret’s ringing your phone:

The angry facade- the fury in her eyes- is immediately broken as Latanya gleefully smiles and breaks her intimidating pose to prance around the stage. This happiness booms in the "but I've got my integrity" line, she moves her arms in a windmill-style choreography, spinning to face the LED screens behind her which shows a pre-recorded accompaniment to the performance, showing a cheating boyfriend's phone messages vividly as a unknowing Latanya stands in the background, ready for a lavish dinner date with the man.

I gave you second chances, even though it broke my heart.
Emphasis on chances, so don’t even start.
You gave ladies glances, even though I gave my all.
Emphasis on glances, so enjoy your fall. (Ooh, boy-)

I know that you hurt and you say you’re contrite- (contrite-)
Being with you just don’t feel right!
Shouldn’t take what’s ours and throw it out of sight!

Irreverently, Latanya spins around and grooves towards the front of the stage, singing out the chorus. She motions a heartbreak with her hands, going into that same assertive pose as she mentions "glances", doing an "eyes on you" motion. Despite this, she sings with a smile. Bubbles flurry onto the stage and into the audience, a teal haze flashing with distant colors in the background like bokeh in the midst of rain. The rain isn't one of heartbreak, but serenity. An unusual ambience for a breakup song. The background video, in black and white, shows a montage of Latanya seeing the phone, confronting her man, and throwing flowers into his chest. She storms out as he desperately tries to follow. As she goes into the first bridge, it shows her rejecting efforts at reconciliation. The video eventually shifts to a camera focus on the performance, showcasing Latanya's healed smile and independent streak as a symbol of overcoming him and his lies.

I gave you second chances. (Mmm, yeah)
Emphasis on “chances”. (Oooh, yeah!)
You gave ladies glances. (Oh no, oh no.)
Emphasis on “glances”. (Mmm, no)

Latanya enters a freestyle dance, hips and shoulders bumping as she freely grooved... emphasis on "freely". Her style of dancing conveys total freedom. Amidst the bubbles is a refreshing mist, and stars above shimmer, the bokeh below entering a strobe-like pulse, commanding ALL attention to Latanya.

It’s not even that I’ve got any wrath, I’m carving a new path. A path for me only!
I won’t ever turn back, and I’ve got a knack for ignoring men who hurt me.
I’ve got my integrity, and am finally free-
Regret’s still on your phone:

Latanya shimmies and step-touches as she leans over the stage, letting her hand grace the fans on the left side, then she struts and does the same to the fans on the right. She bounces in and out, encouraging them to dance their problems away. She turns away from them, almost brushing them away. The attention is back on the screen, the stage momentarily going black. The black and white LED screen showcases the man driving to her house with a flowers, then a boombox, then a guitar- but Latanya ignores them. When she enters her "I've got my integrity" line, the rainbow bokeh ripples from the left to the right in the darkness, spotlights beaming up at the screen which once again reminds the audience about the cheating texts.

I gave you second chances, even though it broke my heart.
Emphasis on chances, don’t even start.
You gave ladies glances, even though I gave my all.
Emphasis on glances, enjoy your fall. (Oh!)

I know that you say that you’re willing to change. (so change-)
I’m not giving you my heart to re-arrange.
Crawling back to you would just make me feel strange!

The stage bursts back to life, the bokeh, stars, and teal an intoxicatingly refreshing sight as the screens focus back on Latanya singing the chorus. The heartbreak, the "eyes on you", and the faux-sympathy in her moves is a call to arms for all powerful women to stand up and dance along. She once again turns her back to the audience to showcase the rejection of the man's attempts, a text saying "I'll change" floating from the left to right. She spins back around, commanding all attention once again.

I gave you second chances. (Mmm, yeah)
Emphasis on “chances”. (Oooh, yeah!)
You gave ladies glances. (Oh no, oh no.)
Emphasis on “glances”. (Mmm, no)

I promise I’m not trying to rub it in.
I’ve found joy within. (Oo-ooh yeah!)
God as my witness you can find it too,
It just won’t be with me, and that is truth baby.
I’ve got my integrity, and I’m so very free, yeah!
Regret it… oh yeaa-aa-aah!

Latanya sings through her second chorus soulfully, swaying as she approaches the front of the stage. She gestures to the audience to sing the backup vocals, the audience thundering in response. Latanya knowingly smiles, pivoting to reach out to the audience in that same choreographed interaction with the fans. She goes into the bridge, finger-fluttering to the audience as the screen depicts Latanya doing things for herself, making a way to independence in her Georgine apartment, painting, singing, and hiking among other things. She points to the audience, assertively singing "I've got my integrity", before breaking her line.

"All my single ladies, come up, come up here!"

She resumes singing "Regret it-" as the song intensifies.

I gave you second chances, even though it broke my heart. (How much you broke me!)
Emphasis on chances, so don’t even start. (No, don’t start-)
You gave ladies glances, even though I gave my all.
Emphasis on glances, so enjoy your fall. (Oh!)

From both sides of the stairs, an all-female assortment of backup dancers in the same blue teardrop dresses enters, clapping in a shoulder-to-shoulder line, singing along energetically. Much to the dismay of the Maltan security, several dozen women cross the outdoor barrier to hop on stage, Latanya patting them on the shoulder to groove and dance with them. The teal brightens in a rainbow dazzle, before going a decidedly female purple haze. Solidarity among sisters, as the backup dancers lead the way for the fans to clap and dance along. Latanya belts and echos her chorus, going into the third bridge.

I know that you say you’re alone and lost (so lost-)
You broke my heart, now you’re gonna pay the cost-
It’s the way the world works, you are not my boss-

I gave you second chances. (Mmm, yeah)
Emphasis on “chances”. (Oooh, yeah!)
You gave ladies glances. (Oh no, oh no.)
Emphasis on “glances”. (Mmm, no)

For the last time, she grooves in that gospel step-touch facing the back as the final montage of the man trying to get Latanya back plays, and this time- she makes it clear and he leaves for good. She goes into the chorus, turning around, welcoming even more ladies onto the platform- soulfully dancing with them. The Carytonic crowd erupts into cheers of admiration, unlike their polite and usually silent selves. The camera focuses on them, large Carytonic flags being waved from three-foot poles. A thirty-year-old Carytonic woman in her bonnet and green prairie dress takes Latanya's hand, and an afro-latino Achaean woman with stunning makeup and a halter dress takes her other. She goes into the ending phrase.

(Emphasis on glances…)
Regret’s calling, gave you chances… face the music, gave them glances.
I gave you second chances.

The backup dancers echo to close the gap, leading the women's clapping. Latanya slows down the dancing, her display of empowerment slowly winding down. The women sing the background "oh-ohs" until the song ends. Latanya brings the two girls she's holding in for a hug as the audience takes over. Confetti cannons blast, showering them in golden and blue-colored streamers. It might be the loudest applause for a Carytonic song yet.

8. NORTHERN BEEPEE
"Men of Gozo
(Let Your Love Flow)"

Performed by
Annie Manneldoo

Tune: "Mannertango" - Ella Endlich

Annie's Holiday In Gozo

Now 26, Annie Manneldoo hails from Wilburforce, Beepee. Last year, she represented Beepee at the 65th World Hit Festival. Her song "Time Travel" finished 8th of 11 entries, failing to enthrall the juries.

Since then, Annie has been working non-stop, touring and promoting her latest album. Her hectic schedule meant she was exhausted and in desperate need of a break. So, she decided to take a solo holiday to Gozo, the often forgotten island of Malta Comino Gozo, a peaceful island surrounded by a beautiful aquamarine sea.

As soon as she arrived, she fell in love with the island's serene beauty. The warm, clear waters, the sandy beaches, the rugged hills and valleys, and the historic sites. She felt a sense of calm and relaxation she had not felt in a long time.

On the first day of her holiday, while wandering around the winding streets of Cittadella, Annie came across a small café, the Café Jubilee in the Pjazza l-Indipendenza where a local band was playing. She sat down and ordered a coffee, listening to the wistful music. The café owner, noticing Annie's love for the music, asked her if she was a singer. She hesitated, but eventually confessed that she was.

The café owner invited her to join the band on stage, and Annie, feeling adventurous, agreed. As soon as she started singing, the small café erupted in applause. Annie was surprised at the response, but also exhilarated. She ended up joining the band for the rest of their set. By the end of the session, she felt a sense of freedom and joy that she had not felt in a long time.

The next morning she was invigorated and ready to explore the island further. She waited outside her boutique hotel as short while and hopped on a local bus that would cover the main tourist attractions on the island.

She was keen to explore the historical nature of this jewel of Malta Comino Gozo, in particular she was wanted to explore the Citadel, a fortified city that dating back to the 17th century containing a number of historic buildings and museums with stunning panoramic views over the island.

Annie had always been fascinated by history, and she loved visiting ancient sites around the world. So when she heard about the Citadel in Gozo, she knew she had to see it for herself.

As she approached the imposing fortress, Annie felt a sense of awe wash over her. The walls rose high above her, and she could see the red and white Maltese flags fluttering in the breeze at the top of the towers. It was an impressive sight, and she couldn't wait to explore.

Annie spent hours wandering through the Citadel, marveling at the history and beauty of the place. She walked through ancient gates and narrow alleys, admiring the architecture and imagining what life would have been like in the past.

As she climbed to the highest point of the Citadel, Annie stopped to catch her breath and take in the breathtaking view. From there, she could see the entire island of Gozo, with its rolling hills and sparkling sea.

As the sun began to set, Annie knew it was time to leave the Citadel and return to her hotel. But she couldn't help feeling a sense of sadness as she walked away from the Citadel. She knew that she would never forget the incredible experience of visiting such a historic and awe-inspiring place.

As she returned to her hotel that night, she was so inspired by her time in Gozo, that she settled down and began writing a new song based on the time she had spent in Gozo.

Annie took the stage and felt a rush of adrenaline course through her veins. She knew that this was her moment to shine on the big stage. She understood that Northern Beepee was not the most votable country and her song would likely be dismissed as "interminable drivel" by the international juries. However, she knew her song was fun and her performance would be filled with camp in abundance.

The sound of waves crash in the distance. The sun, still shining brightly, glinted of the magnificent metal structure. The scenery and the aluminium pyramids juxtaposed in beauty. A warm breeze blows across the stage and through the audience as the perofrmance begins. The flags of many nations flutter in the breeze. The warm wind makes Annie flush a little, as the music begins...

The music has an island rhythm, hinting at the passion and excitement. It fits perfectly with Għain, this little island in the sea. Annie begins, humming gently. There's something alluring, almost sensual about her gentle moans.

Mh mh mh

Annie seems to becone swept up in the rhythm of the music gently swaying to the music. She is dressed in a little black dress. The dress makes her legs seem to go on for days and her décolletage ample enough that any red-blooded Gozoan would take a second look.

Mh mh mh

The LED screens show drone footage flying over the Isle of Gozo, interspersed with images of famous Gozoan landmarks such as Ramla Bay : A beautiful red-sand beach on the north coast of the island, and and Ta' Pinu Shrine: A Roman Catholic basilica and national shrine. These images garner large cheers from the predominantly Malta-Comino-Gozoan audience, clearly impressed that this little nation has spent large on recognising the local culture.

Their hands, Their hair
My heart - Beware
I can't be scared, ah ah ah ah

Annie is joined on stage by a number of beefy male backing dancers. They all have a Mediterranean look, dark hair, Olive skin, rough, rugged looks. However, whether they are Gozoans or simply buff hunks is a question which will be pondered on the Internet for some time.

Annie makes her way dancing between the men flirting with the audience as she arrives at each man. Teasing the audience with the anticipation of a sultry summer romance.

Their skin, their eyes
So dark, like ice
I can not hide, ah ah ah ah

As Annie continues to sing, the camera moves in closer to her, emphasizing the intimacy of the moment. Behind her, the screen shows a video of Annie walking through the streets of Cittadellat in Gozo.

As she walks through the town the many heavy wooden doors that can be found in the traditional buildings, open and a man emerges from inside, different men of all shapes, sizes and age. They begin to follow Annie as she walks the streets of the town.

They're tender, Their passion is taking control, They sway me just like the ocean
My heart can't stand when I see them walk by, I swallow my breath, I'm frozen

On stage, the lighting at this point is warm and golden oranges and reds, emphasising the warm melodic and passionate feeling of the song, as well as the warmth of the host nation. The camera is positioned in front of Annie giving the viewer an up-close and personal view of her performance.

As the chorus begins, the camera begins to pan out, showing the male backing dancers. The lighting becomes brighter and more vibrant, and the camera angles become more dynamic, showing sweeping shots of the stage and the audience.

Men of, men of, men of Gozo
When you take me down so low
Men of, men of, men of Gozo
Hey, baby, let your love flow

The camera work has been designed to capture the energy and movement of Annie and her backing dancers and the song, utilising a mix of close-ups and wider shots, with the camera often moving in and out to emphasise the movement and choreography of the dancers, and plenty of camera cuts, keeping pace with the beat of the song.

The Maltese director had also, naturally, frequently panned out over the massive audience and shown long distance views of the stage from out over the water, by drone, highlighting the magnificence of this unique location.

At this time, however, the director decides to focus on individual dancers, showing their expressions and movements as they shake and shimmy to the rhythm.

Mh mh mh
Men! oh!
Mh mh mh

Annie was now in the middle of her performance, and her emotions were running high. She had worked tirelessly to perfect her song and deliver the perfect performance, and now she was on stage, living her dream, it seemed hard to maintain her composure. As she sang the lyrics, she could feel the energy coursing through her veins, she was running on pure adrenaline.

Every note, every beat, every movement was infused with the joy and excitement of the moment, and she couldn't help but smile as she looked out over the crowd at the Festival tal-Mużika Għain site.

Your gentle touch,
it means so much
My heart beats wild, ah ah ah ah

Annie's knows that at times the song doesn't rhyme , however when she wrote the song she hoped that repeated vowel sounds would create a melodic quality to the lyrics. It was something that Annie had worked hard on, and she was proud of the way the assonance added depth and meaning to the song. As she sang, she didn't mind the extra effort required to deliver the lyrics with the right emphasis and tone, as she knew that it was all worth it in the end. She hoped it would give the song a unique character that would help it stand out from the rest.

Your accent's thick,
and so's your schtick
I must be quick, ah ah ah ah

Annie has been standing mainly on the main stage at this point however she is keen to utilise the whole of the wonderful stage. Annie, followed by her backing dancers, begin to walk out over the audience using the raised catwalk. The 20-foot catwalk is elevated just above the audience, and Annie feels a little vertigo as she strides out over the audience. She soon finds her balance however and is exhilarated by the rush.

My heart beats so fast I just can't slow it down, feel my pulse it keeps on racing
Will you take me to your island home? Your island charm is amazing!

As Annie reached the final chorus of her performance, she could feel her energy sapping away. She had given it her all. She now only had to sing the chorus and then the rest of the song was dancing and adlibbing.

Her backing dancers had been dancing for almost the entire song, and they were still going strong, although beads of sweat were forming on their brows. Annie couldn't help but smile as she looked out at the dancers, grateful for their contribution to the performance and the energy they had brought to the stage. Their energy gave her a second wind to finish on a high.

Men of, men of, men of Gozo
When you take me down so low
Men of, men of, men of Gozo
Hey, baby, let your love flow

As the song nears its end, there is a long outro section of the performance, which involves intricate dancing between Annie and her dancers. Annie flung herself into the dance section, being swung between the swarthy men. She is exhilarated and a little dizzy as the performance continues

For this section of the performance the lighting shifts to a deep blue hue, creating a moody, atmospheric effect. The dancers, dressed in black and silver outfits with sharp lines and angles, move in sync with the beat, their movements precise and powerful.

As the music builds to a crescendo, the camera work becomes more dynamic, moving in and out on Annie and her dancers to capture close-ups of their expressions and movements. The camera angles shift constantly, capturing the intricate details of the choreography and the passion and intensity of the performance.

Mh mh mh
Men! Oh!
Mh mh mh
Men! Oh!
Mh mh mh
Men! Oh!
Mh mh mh
Men! Oh!
Malta! Ole!
Comino! Ole!

Oh oh oh, oh oh oh
Oh oh oh, oh oh oh

Men! Oh!
Baby, let your love flow!

As the song reaches its final notes, the camera returns to Annie, who is bathed in the golden light from the late afternoon sun. The audience applauds, surprisingly loudly, waving their flags and showing their appreciation for the attempt. Somehow, the Maltese director finds a couple of Northern Beepeean fans wrapped in the green and gold flag cheering wildly.

Annie thanks the massive crowd, waving as she leaves the stage making way for the Pemecutan entrant.

Wa-One-"ᬢᬺᬲ᭄ᬦ ᬲᬸᬚᬢᬶ᭟"

Title Transliteration: Tresna Sujati
Title Translation: True Love
Language: Hanacaraka

Music: Krisna Heradana, Yudha Ardana
Lyric: Wawan Ardana
Tune: Walk the Moon - Shut Up and Dance

It's good to be back. Maybe that's what the organizer will say in this 105th edition of WorldVision Song Contest. Pemecutan literally coming back to the contest after 1 edition hiatus. The organizer, GBC, stated that the break was taken to give a room to breath for the organizer. And also with the previous edition is in coincidence with Pemecutan largest holy festival, Galungan, the break is inevitable. However, the organizer is ready to be back to the contest this edition where we will comeback to Malta Comino Gozo as the host.

For entry selection, GBC still using the old method. They privately selected several songs (5-10 songs) and then posting it for online voting. The result of this edition goes to Wa-One, a pop/rock singer with his song entitled, Tresna Sujati. Wa-One (his birth name is Komang Wawan Ardana) is not new in the music industry. Winning one of idol search competition in Pemecutan was his gateway to the industry. Singing has always been his hobby from childhood. He perfected his singing technique as he grow up. He even have a band in his high school years. Graduated from high schools he try to focused on his singing hobby and enter the idol search competition becoming the youngest contestant at the season. The judges acknowledge his singing skills and how he could manage to sustain his voice despite running around the stage. That is always his plus during the contest. In the end, he became the winner of the contest and placed a record under his name as the youngest contestant to ever win the competition.

But the journey in music industry is not easy for him. After releasing a compilation album with the alumni of the competition, he suddenly gone from the radar. But actually he continue his study while releasing singles once in a while. The decision however made his exclusive contract with the competition's producers terminated. He continue to sing off stage while finishing his college. He graduated three years later. After graduation, he focus on his music career. Back up with a huge support from his parents, he moved to Ubung to established his career. His demo record was rejected several times and he make a living by singing from cafe to cafe. At the lowest ppint of his life, his father ask him to produce his music independently.

Wa-One (Komang Wawan Ardana)

At the age of 30 after 7 years in Ubung, he return to his hometown in Tatasan. There, he began to produce his music. Released single by single independently through online videos. His songs were met with positive review. He decided to use his high school nickname, Wa-One as his stage name. After 3 years and releasing a few singles, he release his first album, Dari Sejak Dulu. The album landed a nomination in 36th Chakra Awards for Best Rock Album. And his performance in the single, Kisah Lama garnered him an award in Best Rock Solo Singer. With the success, he launch a nationwide concert which make him absent from music industry for 1 whole year. He came back to produce his music in 1781 Pawukon and released several singles. But he only release another album this year.

In his second album, he become more versatile especially in language. Usually, he only sing a Pemecutan Malay's songs. And in this album, he come to his root and produce some songs in Hanacaraka. The song Tresna Sujati is one of it. The song is telling a story of a man who is in love with a woman but he is too afraid to confess his feeling until the woman comes up to him and told him that she already know his feeling and she also loves him in return. In an interview, Wa-One stated that the song is partly inspired by his own experience during his high school and college years. Despite his outgoing nature, he was very shy in the love section.

The song was recorded in his own studio. The composition was arranged by his older brother, Yudha Ardana. His longtime music partner, Krisna Heradana was also jump to help perfected the music arrangements. On its initial release, the song is met with positive review. Most of them are surprised with Wa-One language choice. But they are still loving it. And that's why, his song is selected by the panel to be selected as Pemecutan entry for WVSC 105. And the result is in favor of him.

I still can't imagine that I get the highest score. It's unbelievable. But I will do my best in the contest and give pride to our country.

Wa-One

The crowd are screaming loudly as the postcard of Pemecutan is displayed on the screen. The lights on the stage are turn off. The scream subside for a moment. But as the intro to the song is heard a light scream is heard mainly from Pemecutan audience. The screen show a guitar who is played just like the intro. While one by one a spotlight lighten up the center of the stage where Wa-One is standing there. The screen turn to view Wa-One closed up face as he start to sing energetically. The camera zoomed out and show his full body. Wa-One looks fresh with the casual outfit which has become his signature style when he is on stage. His feet slightly thumping the stage floor. Reminiscing the beat of the song.

Wa-One took off the mic from its stand. He walks to the side of the stage as he sing the first stanza. He sings happily with smile always showed on his face. When he grab his chest as he sing 'Bintang pujaan di atine.....' especially at the 'atine' part. He lightly run to the other side of the stage as he sing the bridge part. His stamina is really great as he doesn't lose a breath as he run from one side to another.

My body chills
Maybe this is called true love.....
(Between) me and you

Starting the second stanza, he walks back to the center of the stage. His walks however seen comical. Two steps ahead one step back. He do it repeatedly. He suddenly stop as he sing the second bridge. He wipe his forehead and neck when he sing 'matah matah pesu peluh...' to express the sweat that flowing in his body. Just like the lyric.

Then he walks again until he reach the center stage while he continue the song into the chorus. He kneel down and singing the song wholeheartedly to the audience in front of him which makes the person flustered despite she doesn't really understand the meaning of the song. Nearing the end of the chorus, he stand up and shouts, Saje to!. And at that moment, the camera pan out to show the venue from above.

Wa-One run to where the band is located. The camera capture how he mimicking how the guitarist and bassist strum their guitar as they are playing the intermediate. Wa-One run back to the front of the stage. He continue to sing the third bridge. He lightly hit and grab his right chest as he sing 'beli gedeg ajak padewekan' part. He is still singing in the same stamina as he start. He doesn't lose a tempo. The bridge is continued by the chorus with a softer voice. He only raise his voice at the end of the chorus.

The short outro from the guitar mark the end of the song as Wa-One standing with a bowing head. The crowd scream lively. Wa-One bow once again and shouts, 'Suksma, Ghain!'. And then he walk to the back stage to give the stage for the next performer.

WAISNOR

leamha - Ne mogu priznat'sya/Tune: AMI - Dulce Simfonie

leamha, or Anastasia Shamruk in real life, is a newcomer to the Waisnorian music stage, releasing her debuting album in 2020. She also thried to qualify for Waisnor for WorldVision for 100th and 102nd edition, but didn't make it each time. Now finally, she has won her place in the contest and ready to start the new chapter in her career. Btw, her pseudonym is Irish word for "bird" with added -a to add it more feminine undertones.

Getting to the performance, the singer stood in the center of the stage, and there were fences around her that prevented her from entering the other part of the stage. The light was concentrated almost completely on the fenced area, and during the performance of the verse, the leamha herself walked in the fenced area, sometimes putting her hands on the fence.

Я люблю
I love

Но гублю
But I'm ruining

Свою душу
My soul

Не могу
I can not

Сквозь пургу
Pass through the blizzard

Пройти, ещё трушу
I'm still afraid

Gradually, people dressed alike began to approach these barriers. While the singer sang the chorus, they took these barriers and gradually moved them away from her. However, Anastasia did not go beyond the original circle and continued to sing in such a rather narrow space.

Я не могу признаться
I can't confess

И сил нету решаться
And there is no strength in me to decide

Мне проще оставаться
It's easier for me to stay

Чужой среди своих
Alien among my own

Я не могу признаться
I can't confess

Но мне нужно вырываться
But I need to break out

Со страхом попрощаться
To say goodbye to fear

Сорваться с оков моих
Break free from my chains

In the end, these people lowered the barriers, and although leamha felt freer, using the vacated place in the dance, she did not go beyond these barriers that were already on the stage. At this time, people remained motionless, and in the background a figure appeared, standing alone on a cliff and on which the sea wind blows.

Я живу
I live

И опять дежавю
And deja vu happens again

Нету сил сказать
I don't have the strength to say

Что сердце горит
That my heart is on fire

Оно не молчит
It is not silent

Хочется кричать
I want to scream

When leamha began to sing a new verse, the people put the fence back in place and began to walk in a circle, holding hands. The singer herself tried to reach the walking people, but the barriers were set up in such a way that she could not reach them. Meanwhile, in the background, a figure was already leaving the cliff, but its face was still not visible.

Я не могу признаться
I can't confess

И сил нету решаться
And there is no strength in me to decide

Мне проще оставаться
It's easier for me to stay

Чужой среди своих
Alien among my own

Я не могу признаться
I can't confess

Но мне нужно вырываться
But I need to break out

Со страхом попрощаться
To say goodbye to fear

Сорваться с оков моих
Break free from my chains

While she was singing this refrain, unlike in the past, the fence was not removed, and people began to dance and also tried to reach Anastasia, but they could not reach their goal either. As for the background, viewers saw that the camera followed the figure and showed her as she walked across the plain.

Я снова молчу, язык отрезан
I'm silent again, my tongue is cut off

Опять и опять, мой дух растерзан
Again and again, my spirit is torn apart

Кричу в пустоту, меня не слышно
I scream into the void, I can't be heard

Я как будто неподвижна
I seem to be immobile

Слова о любви ищут выход
Words of love are looking for a way out

Но лабиринт моей души запутан лихо
But the labyrinth of my soul is greatly tangled

Молчу и кричу, как быть, не знаю
I am silent and screaming, how to be, I don’t know

Я будто изнутри сгораю
It's like I'm on fire from the inside

leamha sang this verse while dancing rather energetically, also trying to reach people, but neither people nor the singer could reach each other. As for the figure on the screen, she was already running during this chorus, and during the next one she turned into a bird and the camera followed her as she flew into the sky.

Я не могу признаться
I can't confess

Но мне нужно вырываться
But I need to break out

Со страхом попрощаться
To say goodbye to fear

Сорваться с оков моих
Break free from my chains

After the song was finished, the singer and people made a group hug and after that said to the audience: "Thank you all from Waisnor! Stay strong!"

Song Title: Seals in my Cities
Artist(s) Magga Aarseth

Tune

104th wasn't quite what CRAP had had in mind. A respectful twelfth place with 97 points just three shy of 100 wasn't quite the result Crustyland expected. They had a top 10 in their sights. Points trickled in with eight from Mister X, seven from Kalosia and six from Plagainer being the country's highest scores. With the jury done and 49 points in total, it wasn't their night and the televote wasn't great either with a mediocre 48 points heading their way! Hey, it was better than the zero they had received on MANY occasions! Still, Cedric McGerban and Juliana Montain had still done their country proud and the team was very very proud indeed of the efforts. "Look Away" managed to chart in a few countries too after the contest something that rarely happened with Crustylandian artists. The contest had been great exposure for the pair.

With the budget gone CRAP were back to basics again, and talk around the CRAP committee meeting table turned to choose the next entry. The broadcaster had done reasonably well for itself in recent times, with all the windows being double-glazed since the infamous incident from WV#88. Benjamin Cramp had heard all about a singer doing the rounds on TikTok, Magga Aarseth. This young 21 year old from Rannk had surpassed over 5 million views on some of her videos and she did actually have a good voice even if her content was, how shall we say, a little PG.

CRAP got in touch with Magga who was very much honoured. She along with her team would hand the song but for obvious reasons, there was barely a budget so were told not to go overboard. Saying that a win would bring millions in revenue to the country whose economy was still struggling severely due to depleted fish supplies. The schizophrenic nation of Crustyland would continue its route of either being rather good on the WorldVision stage or just downright awful. This would most likey end up in the latter.

The crowds bathed in the setting sun cheered as the Crustylandian postcard finished. The stage went dark. Magga crouched was centre stage and began to sing acapella. The stage was as dark as it could be. Confused fans turned to one another, concerned she was suffering from nerves. Nope, she really did mean to stutter all the first words. Her vocals soared out into the evening air. For Crustyland her vocals weren't awful. Suddenly the bouncy and slightly off-key beat kicked in along with a real of Seals, Walruses and Sea lion montages blasting all over the screens flying outwards as if jumping off of the screens. Disorientating strobe lights shot outwards from the top and sides of the stage to the beat. All the time Magga remained animated bouncing up and down, her neck bobbing up and down.

S s s s s s s...
Seals seals seals seals
S s s s s s s...
Seals seals seals seals
S s s s s s s....
Seals seals seals seals
S s s s s s s...
Seals seals seals seals
s s s...
Seals in my cities
My cities
My cities
My cities
My cities
My cities
My cities

The camera floated around the floor looking upwards before floating out as she strode confidently across the stage. Her hands gripped the microphone. She was having a lot of fun. The lights whirled around bathing her in white light. She owned the stage with her presence.

S.s.s Seals in my cities
My cities
My cities
My cities
My cities
My cities
My cities

A centre-stage shot showed her pointing out eagerly into the audience which invoked a few cheers, she smiled brightly. She bent her knees slightly as the dancing twerking bouncing semi-aquatic sea mammals shot out of the screens behind her in a quite hypnotic fashion.

Seals in my cities everywhere
Seals in my cities everywhere
Sea lions too!
S s s s
Seals in my cities everywhere
Sea lions too
Sea lions too

S s s s s s s Seals Seals Seals Seals
S s s s s s s Seals Seals Seals Seals
S s s s s s s Seals Seals Seals Seals
S s s s s s s Seals Seals Seals

Suddenly surrounded by 3 muscular shirtless male dancers Magga then began twerking her quite large behind to the beat in a sensual way which again invoked more cheers from the crowd. She was a natural. The dancers synchronised her routine flawlessly.

Seals in my cities
My cities
My cities
My cities
My cities
My cities
My cities

They carried out an immaculate dance routine waving their arms in unison squirming like squids and shimming their feet.

Seals in my cities
My cities
My cities
My cities
My cities
My cities
My cities

The camera flew over the top of the audience towards the stage. We have a facial shot of Magga before a full body shot. The lights continue to strobe white.

Seals in my cities everywhere
Seals in my cities everywhere
Walruses too!
S s s s
Seals in my cities everywhere
Sea lions too
Walruses lions too

The weird pre-recorded vocals rang out as she began twerking again to the beat. For each line, she would change direction. The disorientating music blasted out as the camera work became a little crazy, spiralling into the stage and cutting frequently between shots of her sides her face and the whole stage. The stage was bathed in an array of colours now from blue to green and yellow to pink. As the camera cut to her she would pull a different face, often pouting in a peculiar manner. The camera work swirled and flew around the arena over the crowd and over the stage in a disorderly manner.

S s s s
S s s s
S s s s
S s s s

Magga and the dancers twerked and made their way down the catwalk into the sea of fans. The camera panned outwards to an angle showing a spectacular shot of the crowds as the group marched down the catwalk. We then have a shot of Magga spinning her hair like a whip for a few seconds whilst she held onto her dancers her arms spread wide. The camera work was chaotic as the instrumental continued before Magga finished of the song with the camera zooming nearer and strobing for the viewers at home. She winked and folded her arms.

Seals in my cities
Seals seals in my cities
Seals in my my my cities
Seals in my cities
Seals in my cities
Seals in my cities
Seals in my cities
Seals in my cities everywhere

Thank you! she roared over an entertained crowd! Magg quickly waved and exited the stage.

Nation Name: Malta Comino Gozo
Official Broadcaster: MCG 1
Tune: Rudimental ft Anne Marie - Waiting All Night
Song Title: Melody
Artist(s) Name(s): Pallix ft Kate Meilak
Lyrics & Music: Danjel Velesco

Worldvision was back in the island nation of Malta Comino Gozo for the fourth time and not only that it was the countries 30th time participating. The island nation was lucky in taking risks which usually paid off, sending all sorts of genres of music. Still, most notably they were stereotypically known for their poptastic boy bands and female rock artists. The question is, how many boy bands can one tiny island nation have? The answer... a lot!

The 104th WorldVision saw MCG place fifth with a massive 188 points and one set of twelve coming from Erie Arcadia. In one of the tightest contests for some time with only two points separating Carrelie the eventual winner and the Alezian Union the 103rd winner! The televote proved more fruitful for MCG with them coming in second to help boost the position from ninth to fifth. Overall it was another success for the team, their 16th top-five finish!

This time though the nation was going back to basics. MCG1 wanted something fresh. With Malta Comino Gozo being granted hosting rights for the contest they knew an upbeat, anthemic song and performance that could get the crowd in the outdoor arena and at home on their feet would fit the scene. Step forward Pallix aka Danjel Velesco, Malta Comino Gozo's most successful international DJ. With dozens of international performances under his belt including 10th place at the 79th WorldVision Song Contest, what better than a man with years of experience?

Five years in a row ranking in the DJ top 100, Pallix hold his own as the most successful DJ/Producer in Malta Comino Gozo, selling arena shows and appearing everywhere from TV to mobile phone adverts. Winners of ‘Best Newcomer Award 2005’′, ‘Best Live Performance 2019’, ‘The International Recognition Award’ and 3 years in a row ‘Best Dance Tune Award 19/20/21’ at the MCG Music Awards, Pallix has proved to be an icon to the young generation taking the clubbing scene by storm and building up enough fans to hold their own Pallix in Concert events. With numerous releases on Armada Records that have blasted the speakers of various clubs and events around the planet, Pallix has gained a solid international fan base that is constantly demanding him to travel the multiverse with his performances.

Kate Meilak had had a relatively normal upbringing with a keen interest obviously in music and singing all that changed when she auditioned for the vocals for Pallix's new track which would subsequently be chosen to represent the country at the 105th Worldvision in Għain, Malta Comino Gozo. A lot was riding on Kate Meilak, a relatively unknown 20 year old from the tiny village of Qalsri in the north of the island of Malta. During its 30 contests, Malta Comino Gozo had a win rate of one in five! Something that the nation's citizens pride themselves on especially abroad when anyone asked where they were from, it was a huge part of proud musical trivia! Not bad for a country with just over 500 thousand people. Teaming up with Pallix was a huge career boost for Kate.

Speaking to Huw Stephens backstage at the MCG1 premiere of their WorldVision song release press conference Pallix told the story behind the track. Pallix said:
It's a special track for us because it came out just before our album came out, so it kind of fuelled the hype, also Kate did a great vocal performance on it. It came at a time when I'd worked really hard on tour." Melody's infectious hook has since gone viral throughout the country with sales of the song skyrocketing and it reaching number 1 in the MCG charts a week after its release. "It's surreal" Kate, told MCG1, I will be walking down a street in Santa Lucija with my girls and almost every club we went in, was playing our song... OUR SONG! The same song I am singing in a few weeks for my country. I can't begin to describe how it feels.
"

Image

Asked how they discovered Kate Meilak, Pallix replied:
The studio and I did a writing session together and Kate auditioned and we were just blown away by her voice. We all had a gut feeling that she was the one to do it!"
"Also I'll tell you something that's really special about 'Melody' is that everyone was against me and the studio putting it out there. We just put our careers on the line with 'Melody' and it got us where we are now, in a renowned international song competition!" This was Kate's biggest event to date. Her newfound celeb status, signing autographs, press conferences, TV interviews as well as staying in the Five Star Carob Hills Resort in Comino had her from nobody to having the weight of her country on her shoulders was quite the career change.

Image

There was something quite humbling about having the contest arrive back on the little islands of MCG. The whole multiverses eyes were watching this tiny little archipelago. No matter the country's wealth, size or population each country was breaking boundaries and performing together.

The MCG delegation would be staying at Golden Sands in Xormlla a stunning 5-star resort with public beach access, stunning views and 5-star facilities. Set on the rocky coast high on the cliffs the resort was one of the most popular on the islands. With MCGBC paying for it all Kate and Pallix could sit back and relax like being on holiday.

But it was not all about relaxing, spas and saunas (which the pair did do a lot of) it was also about rehearsing. Each day the MCG delegation would fly by private helicopter over to the venue on Għain which was around a five-minute flight. The island was bathed in a kind of light that was more pure and warm than any they'd seen. It got into their souls that very instant and made itself at home for life. You could guess that is why tourists and locals say they fall in love with this place. You can see it. You can feel it. It's part of your soul from this moment onwards.

Landing in a clearing beside the mighty date palm forests it felt to kate as if she had been whisked off and kidnapped and dropped off on some "Survivor" type reality Television show. Birds sang all around her and the chopper blades blew her hair as she clambered over the dry dusty soil, she did not have the right shoes. Suddenly, concrete! Civilisation. Here was the arena. The spectacular stage stood out dominating the landscape. It was massive! She felt a bit flabbergasted. It was all becoming more and more real by the minute. MCGBC had done a phenomenal job converting the already constructed fan park etc to a WorldVision hub.

Rehearsals over the next few days proved fruitful and Kate and Pallix got to grips with this large spectacular stage and made the most of every inch of it as it was important not to be swallowed by the sheer scale.

Image

(I am using the live version of this song rather than the studio, as I believe this live version has more intensity and power but feel free to listen to the studio if you'd prefer.)

Kate was feeling nervous during the Crustyland performance as we edged ever nearer to the host nation's performance. The sun was beginning to set to the left of the stage which cast a beautiful golden light through the crowds. Having picked to perform in the first half of the contest meant that she could enjoy the latter performances. Rehearsals had been perfect so she knew exactly what to expect but this was the significant moment, the night millions around the multiverse would vote for the best entry. She knew the success rate of Malta Comino Gozo in the contest and now more than ever she felt the importance that this contest meant to her country. Kate closed her eyes and took a deep breath mumbling words of encouragement as she took a deep breath, Pallix, who was talking to the production team immediately came over embracing Kate in his arms. "You got this girl!" His words of encouragement brought a smile to Kate's face.

She started to calm down as she realised that the performance from Crustyland had finished. The audience cheered! The stage briefly paused before the colours of the Malta Comino Gozo flags filled the stage and the postcard played out accompanied by the loudest cheers of the night yet. The home crowd screamed and shouted, raving for Pallix, Kate and "Melody". A smile widened as she walked with the stage personnel onto the stage to prepare for their performance. She took another deep breath before beaming widely, her microphone in her right hand. Pallix was behind his DJ both at the centre back of the stage and the pair exchanged glances, Pallix nodded confidently towards her as the stage personnel checked his mic.

Accompany Kate and Pallix on stage would be a trumpeter, centre left, a keyboard player back left, a saxophone player and drummer back right and one male and one female backing singer who is perched on a back elevated part of the stage off to our right. She was by no means doing this by herself! Obviously performing outdoors during daylight hours meant the stage couldn't darken before the song began. Instead after the fanfare of the postcard the spotlights swooshed inwards towards the duo on stage as the camera panned over the humungous flag-waving crowd. The stage lights were all switched off leaving the colossal structure protruding out of the field like some mechanical giant. The sun gleamed off the metal structure.

Kate looked out into the crowds, there was not one gap in the crowd, every seat was full every standing space was full, and the contest was a sellout. The only empty space, the catwalk almost cut the crowd in two. Dotted frequently through the crowd she began to look at the flags. The majority of flags were MCGoan of course but also Aenglide, Elejamie, The Achaean Republic, StrayaRoos, Carrelie etc as well as newcomers who had joined the WV family, they were all there, it filled her heart with joy.

The WorldVision village in Xormlla was also a sell-out with 6,000 people crowding the beach to watch. It was safe to safe the people would rather watch and soak up the atmosphere surrounded by their fellow people than in their living rooms. There was a national pride in Malta Comino Gozo that always brought the good out in everybody.

Starting from the far back of the arena the boom camera slowly crept from right to left across the vast crowd, panning towards the stage. The song was very swift to start. With a crash of a cymbal, Kate began to sing softly. Her vocals are blended perfectly with hauntingly beautiful "Ooh's" from the backing singers. It was still relatively light but the lights of the stage shone red and the aluminium pyramids LED screens stayed off for the time being. Kate looked out past the audience and watched the sea, lost in the rhythmic percussion of waves on sand. Her eyes are steady on the horizon, face aglow with the last orange rays before twilight beckons the stars. Her lips bear the semblance of a smile, just enough to show that she is enjoying this fantastic opportunity, whatever the outcome may be. The beat of the drums picks up. As Kate sings "Sweet music's always been my therapy" the boom camera centres and lowers so it's aligned with the top edge of the stage. We can still see hundreds in the crowd who were lucky to get right up close to the stage. Their hands waving, flags fluttering gently in the warm evening air. Kate who is wearing a beautiful thigh-high, white, summer dress is bouncing joyfully about the stage from left to right hyping up the audience with her free left hand.

This melody gives me good vibes baby
Hook me hook me, with your melody yeah
Sweet music's always been my therapy...
Hook me baby, hook me with your melody!

The camera quickly cuts to Pallix in the inverted pyramid at the back of the stage as the beat quickens! He is wearing a large and long black tank top with a black baseball cap with Pallix embroidered in small white letters across the front. Accompanied by black shades it's safe to say he looks pretty suave. With his left hand on the decks, he raises his right sun-kissed, muscled arm high into the air before booming "1 2 3..!"

1 2 3..!

A quick shot of the drums from behind cuts away to another aerial crowd shot looking down as the chorus bursts. This time we see a young fan hitching a ride on his pal's shoulders before falling back into a crowd surf position. The camera continues to pull back and around across the energetic crowd, who are now jumping, miming and or singing along! Every flag possible is dotted across the vast audience towards the stage. The LED screens swirl with neon red. White spotlights shoot out from the stage sides into the evening sky. We cut back to Kate, who is still animated moving around quickly from left to right singing with all her might, her long blonde hair flowed down her shoulders as she shut her eyes tight at the end of every line, annunciating each word. She was even stamping her foot at one point, as the emotion and music took over her.

You're the rhythm of my song so tight
My tune to sing along day and night
My beacon and my light
My sweet musical melody, yeah!

The camerawork was now chaotic BUT suited the song as we cut from one shot to another starting with a view from behind the saxophone player playing towards the drummer before cutting to Pallix, his white teeth glistening as he grinned as he scratched the decks. A brief shot of the keyboard player cuts to a panning shot from left to right showing a close-up of the whole impressive stage. Everyone on stage is having the time of their lives. As she sings "Oh" Kate filled with adrenaline runs across the stage from right to left leaping in the air towards the keyboard player. Her nerves had gone and she was living for every second of the performance and was not afraid to let her hair down.

You're the rhythm of my song so tight
My tune to sing along day... and night
My beacon and my light
My sweet musical melody... Oh!

Pallix and the backing singers pick up the next part their harmonious voices ringing out beautifully into the evening air. They are illuminated from the back by a glowing golden light. A stage shot of Pallix lifting his microphone upwards as he sings transitions to a swinging shot over the energetic audience. The host's entry was bringing the house down. Hyped up, the crowd is jumping, waving and engaging as much as possible. The arena is electric, everyone feeding off of the smiles and fast dancing. They could go like this all night long, feet moving to the crazy beat as if they belong to the music. All the while whilst this was going on Kate caught her breath to the left of the stage. She stood motionless off camera, mic limp by her hip, soaking in the atmosphere. The stage beneath her shook impressively with the beat and the lights blazed out powerfully behind her.

Meh...eh...lo...dy!
Meh...eh...lo...dy!
Meh...eh...lo...dy!

The instruments subdue back to the basic beat. Now standing centre stage, we have a boom camera shot of Kate as she moves the crowd. With her right hand outstretched she sways her hips to the beat as she looks out like a Queen addressing her nation. The LED screens flash between red and white to the beat accompanied by very similar flying triangles to the logo of the contest which fly out from the screens. She caresses her cheek as she sings "Washing the hurt and pain from my anatomy" and begins to crouch down.

This melody gives me good vibes,
Washing the hurt and pain from my anatomy
Now folks who try to put me down
Will never hurt me, because I've got my melody

The stage begins to twinkle yellow and blue behind her as she courches there singing towards the stage camera which is parallel to her. Kate stops for the last line as Pallix's booming vocals ring out. Kate lived for live music. There was something about the vibrations that felt so heavenly as if it were liquid energy seeping right through her skin, she felt it, craved it.

Look for beauty not the pain,
Look for the sunlight, not the rain
Your eyes will open to possibilities

Join the pathway straight ahead yeah!

Facing her left Kate hunched slightly and beckons the stage camera closer with a curl of her index finger. The crowds can be seen on our left. Addressing the viewers personally like she is giving a motivational speech she sings directly into the lens and into the hearts & souls of the people watching at home, giving them a life lesson. Despite the drum and bass and dance/electric vibes the meaning behind the song was a significant one. As Kate explained;

"Everyone in life flows to their own Melody. Life is full of people who want to disrupt that flow. Sing, dance, be grateful and don't care what others think. Your melody is what makes you awesome."

She rises and strides towards the left of the stage following the boom camera. With a slightly concerned grin, she sings towards the camera her left hand outstretched as the camera retreats. For the last line, she pivots away quickly the camera pulling out. Pallix's vocals harmonise with hers for the last line.

Walk with laughter and not with dread...
There’ll be no defeat
If you don’t retreat yeah!
With new strength and hope now you are complete
Complete to sing,
This melody yeah!

Pyros blast out the top of the stage for the burst of the chorus. As the camera pulls out further we are treated to 66 neon blue lasers representing notes being played on a keyboard which shoot high into the evening sky. These could be soon from over a mile away from the mainland. As the chorus plays out each laser( note) changes to a sharp green. It's a captivating sight as they twinkle and dance like keyboard keys above the arena. The camera carries on pulling backwards. The arena is wall-to-wall people dancing and jumping. We cut to a shot of Pallix miming along as he mixes the decks. The triangles bigger this time continue to pour and fly out of the aluminium pyramid LED screens. Blue and white strobes flash from the back of the stage illuminating the entrants as they did. Kate is full of joy. You could read it on her face. She was bathing in the cheers, the beat of the music flowed through her. The smooth voices of the backing vocalists accompanied her the entire way.

You're the rhythm of my song... so tight!
My tune to sing along day and night!
My beacon and my light!
My sweet musical melody yeah!

We cut to Pallix who is also singing along passionately before the camera pans across the stage again so we see everyone playing their instruments. Slightly exaggerated, each musician played with passion each instrument essential to the performance. The stage is filled with strobes as the beat resonated. A multitude of disorienting, flashing lights of red and white cover the crowds.

You're the rhythm of my song... so tight
My tune to sing along day... and night
My beacon and my light!
My sweet musical melody yeah!
Oh!

The camera starting upside down does a full 360 clockwise spin from the crowd towards the stage. Kate danced without a care. In that moment of dance, the vibrations of the music became a part of her energy, raising her up several levels all at once. We have a beautiful silhouette shot from behind of the trumpeter playing away before we cut to a quick shot of the drummer vigorously playing infected by the beat. The view cuts to another outstanding shot of the entire stage and musical lasers from the back of the arena. The lasers are a flurry of lights matching the song dancing like the aurora.

Meh...eh...lo...dy!
Meh...eh...lo...dy!
Meh...eh...lo...dy!
Ohh...
Meh...eh...lo...dy!
Meh...eh...lo...dy!
Meh...eh...lo...dy!

The drum and bass fade and the lasers stop and the stage is lit up in navy blue. Kate is lit in a white spotlight which followers as she walks back to the edge of the centre. The musicians, backing singers and Pallix are all standing now, their arms raised high.

Oohh...
Oh yeah...
Oh!

For the first time in a while, Kate is still. Her hair was as waves of pure earth, softly reflecting the light of the sun; each strand moving freely in an ocean-born breeze, a compliment to her stillness as she scanned the crowd. The camera cuts to a stage shot. The blue-bathed stage was still, dormant, lying in wait. With a sassy tone, she points to her feet as she sang "I got soul". A cheeky grin lit up her gorgeous face as she dropped into a crouch again for the last line. She was indeed going to move the crowd.

You can try bury me yeah,
With your jealousy, yeah
I got soul,
Watch me move the crowd!

The vertical panels on the stage all copy the same effect as the lasers from earlier. Each panel representing a note flashes a gorgeous light blue as the notes of the song are played. The boom camera pulls out slowly to capture this in full effect. The bass instruments kick back in again accompanied by the backing singers. The trumpeter swaggered with confidence, spectacularly lit up from behind by a bright stunning white light as he appeared on Kate's right side.

The chaos of creation's, dance!
A tapestry of a symphony, yeah!
Of life himself
It's written on our very skin...

The climax to the chorus continues to build the beat thumping back in while the stage camera floated around giving us an upper body shot of Kate as she gestured whilst singing. Whilst still professional, one could notice the feeling eating away at Kate as she sang with emphasis. The camera backs away and we have a full shot of Kate as the verse ends.

The chaos of creation's, dance!
A tapestry of a symphony, yeah!
Of life himself!
It's written in our very skin... oh!

The camera pulls out dramatically from Kate whilst zooming into the stage at the same time as she holds the first line. The stage is once again adorned by blue and white strobes. Her vocals, stunning and rich, echo hauntingly. A quick shot shows the backing singers at the back animated and swaying vigorously to the music. We cut to various shots of the other people on stage all engaging.

Ooh...
Ooohhh...
Oooh....
Woah...
Oooh...

Yeah, this is your melody!

For the first line, she did a gentle leap before running to the right of the stage. Kate's vocals soared proudly as she gave it her all. With each camera shot her eyes were tightly closed as she finished each line. She was living for this.

You're the rhythm of my song... so tight
My tune to sing along day and night
My beacon and my light
My sweet musical melody yeah!

The camera focuses back on Kate, behind her a dazzling white light pours out encapsulating a dazzling view of her as she leans back summoning her all against the brightest of backgrounds. Her vocals soar immensely, something so powerful from such a small frame as the camera pulls outwards as she nails the last note, bending backwards standing up as tall, to muster all her power. Audible cheers are heard.

You're the rhythm of my song ... so tight
My tune to sing along day and night
My beacon and my light!
My sweet musical melody yeah!!! Oh...Ohh!!!

This time it was the trumpeter's time to shine. You wouldn't ask for suaver as he sauntered along right to left across the stage, the camera capturing his swaggered walk as he hit every note. The camera cuts between the trumpeter now and Pallix. Kate runs down to the end of the catwalk the boom camera swings to our right around her quickly and above the audience, before we cut to a view of her looking upwards from the excited crowds a mix of people dancing fills the foreground of the view. Pallix has left his DJ booth now and begins to join Kate. The backing singers accompany Kates's vocals. The camera pulls out head-on from Kate, and behind her, we see Pallix now making his way down the catwalk. Pallix and the backing singers boost the last chorus with Kate. As the singing finishes pyros launch out the sides of the catwalk to the beat into the navy evening skies.

Meh...eh...lo...dy!
Meh...eh...lo...dy!
Meh...eh...lo...dy!
Ohh...
Meh...eh...lo...dy!
Meh...eh...lo...dy!
Meh...eh...lo...dy!
Feel it feel it yeah!

The electric guitar rounds off the song and the audience goes wild! Kate grasps hold of Pallix tightly and he picks her up and spins her around in his tight grip! She is audibly screaming with joy as Pallix lets go and he bows. Her hands are frantic, she didn't know what to do with them, she tapped at her lips and cheeks before shrieking again with joy "GRAZZI ĦAFNA GĦAIN! GRAZZI!" She had gone from nobody to somebody just like that, she had done Malta Comino Gozo proud and the crowd for the hosts was the loudest of the night. The camera panned towards various groups of proud MCG fans with their face paints and scarves accompanied by outrageously loud cheers before we cut to the team exiting the catwalk. She had hoped she had done enough to secure another incredible result for her country. The stage lights faded readily for the next entry.

Tune: It Was a Good Day

Portuguese

Sempre acordo com minha família
Tomo meu café da manhã
Saio de casa, pra mais um dia
E eu encontro um céu sem vida
Saio com meu Lowrider, e minha MAC-10
Recebo uma ligação do Distrito 010
Os manos querem que eu apague alguem
Fui lá na Quebrada dele com a MAC-10
Eu com uns manos fizemos um Drive-By
Se ele escapar, eu vou tá fudido
Tô correndo risco de ir pra cana
Coloco meus Sunglasses e exponho minha marra
Um Bandido fracassado, que legal

The Alezian Union used to compete in the WorldVision Song Contest separately. North Alezia who debuted in 82 and got runner-up once the edition after, which is also the same time as South Alezia's debut starting their habit of finishing in the bottom ten. Both countries would cease participation in the 89th WorldVision Song Contest and compete together as the Alezian Union plus Mosin-Nagan and Pantabang Islands from the 90th edition onwards.

Throughout its' adventure as a reunified country, the Alezian Union has shown success. From the 90th to 94th edition, the Alezian Union frequented top 10, even securing a hosting in Zafizamarrah for the 93rd edition and winning with Aziz-Lutfi Garanov and the Time-Killers' "I've Faith in You". However, due to what experts call "National Complacency", the nation entered a dark era where what used to be a frequent occasion, turns into a luxury when Alezia starts being stuck outside of the top 10, even getting last place once.

The dark era of Alezian WorldVision career diminished the contest's popularity in the Alezian Union into low viewership figures, even creating a rumour of Alezian withdrawal. However, the country stayed and luckily turned things around with Muhammad Azlouvewijk's "Wie ik ben?" who earned 6th place on the 102nd edition in Mister X. Renewed interest got even more renewed as the edition afterwards held in StrayaRoos creates an Alezian winner: "Little Bit Insane" by Liz Dannounavais. And as if that's wasn't enough, Alin Yuri's "Dead and buried" nearly gave Alezia two wins in a row only behind Carrelie by points countable by hand.

This edition indicates the first season's end of the popular Alezian preselection for the WorldVision Song Contest: "Operation WorldVision". This time, the Alezians and the world picked the South Alezian band NEYSSA with the hopes of another high position for the Alezian Union as three previous results indicated something of an Alezian WorldVision "Rennaisance".

NEYSSA is a South Alezian band made in 2022 by four students from the Technical Studies Faculty of the University of Doorsbreekenstad. The band that focuses on rock and metal has been one of the fastest-growing bands in the Alezian Union in terms of popularity offline and especially online, recording millions of clicks in streaming platforms and especially breaking expectations and become 2022's best NEW rock band in Arico.Net based on involvement (the winner for the existing rock bands is the "Time-Killers" by the way, the WorldVision win probably helped)

But before that, we must know about how the band actually came to be. All of the members of NEYSSA have musical abilities, especially those that can create a rocking experience. However, initially, it was a solo act by Nissatul Ahmad (called simply NISSA). She sang in events (in one of these events, Nissa found out about her hidden talent, which is playing acrobatics with the microphone) and became well acquainted with the newly revived South Alezian music industry. Eventually, three of her best friends (Sylvie, Sari, and Anna) got recruited by Nisa. Since then, the band realized that they need a name change. However, the change is simply minor since the other three's names comfortably snuggled into the band name, creating NEYSSA.

As of the contest, the band has only released an online-only album titled "EveryGot". The eventual Alezian entry "Karena Dia (Hargai Dia)" is the band's first entry in Indonesian and the band's first ever single. The song is also the band's first ever song to be launched under a record company (ABA Doorsbreeken). Initially, the song was only going to be a single and nothing more, and especially not the Alezian entry.

However, an ARICO.Net poll that was seemingly innocent enough regarding "Who do you want to see compete for the Alezian Union in the WorldVision Song Contest" indicated that a whopping 79% of polltakers picked them as one of the three choices of artists they want to see. What fans and NEYSSA didn't know though, is the secret fact that it was the ABA that held the poll to *actually* contact the winner of the poll and ask them regarding WorldVision participation.

Just as the group about to finish recording the song, suddenly ABA contacted Sari (who holds the bands' social media accounts) asking whether they want to compete in Operation: WorldVision due to them being a national favourite in the polls which includes a possibility of them representing the Alezian Union at the WorldVision Song Contest. After consideration, they agreed.

I think we can't ignore it anymore, nor we should. The world nowadays has become a place of spite, hatred, and discrimination because of who they are. Hopefully, even if fate says otherwise regarding the results, we can still prove our nation's artistic talent and creativity while also showing the message to the world that Alezia just like everyone else, is tired of hatred and will fight to the hardest to end it. Full stop.

- Nissatul Ahmad, Lead singer of NEYSSA after winning Operation : WorldVision

Karena Dia (Hargai Dia) is a song that talks about how the world is walking into destruction, but instead of loving each other, humans accuse each other regarding "who" caused those destruction, sometimes just because of who they are, what they believe, their clothing choices, or their choices in love. This song is also directed to politicians and clergy who continue to bicker yet cannot find a proper beneficial solution, or who remained silent and refused to take action, or actually added into the dumpster fire and actually promote hate in any media they can touch, including social media.

The song was created as a response to the ever-increasing case of hatred and discrimination around the world, including issues such as Islamophobia (especially towards people who wore religious apparels such as the Niqab, which puts Nissa in the spot), Homophobia, and Anti-Semitism. and this will be shown in the live performance at Għain, Malta Comino Gozo. Since the competition was a spectacular event in the name of peace in itself, the song is suitable for WorldVision. What to do left is only how to package the song into a real song, which resulted in the Alezian entry.

For the members of NEYSSA, the feeling of the song was nearly personal. First, Nissa's independent decision to wear the niqab (getting common in Alezia but not all) was met with support from her friends and family, but not in the online space. Nissa was accused of unbelievable things, including an accusation of "activities that cause a great terror". But literally, Nissa wouldn't do such things. She's a free-spirited woman, respecting of opinions, and open-minded; and her decision to cover up won't change any of that.

Sari (who wore the hijab but not the niqab) also receives discrimination OUTSIDE of Alezia. Same with Nissa, Sari believed that her clothing choices won't change who she is, which is a friendly, smart, and kind person.

Then, Sylvia coming out as bisexual in 2021 right after as live TV announced the legalisation and protection of same-sex relationships in South Alezia and Southern Pantabang Islands. While it's legal federally, there is still homophobia in the Alezian Union (not much, it's actually small, but it's there). Sylvia learned that legally she's safe, South Alezians is not fully on board with it yet. Some that are getting more open to the idea (like Sylvia's family) needs more understanding (because the Hoojvinken Military Dictatorship banned it for years), and some hardline South Alezian conservatists went against the idea entirely which shows in social media.

Finally, Anna is a part of the Jewish minority in the Alezian Union, also facing opposition from hardline conservatists who immediately connects the Jewish with their immediate "support" for "global domination and supremacy". But Anna is not like that, she don't want to conquer the world and keep it all to herself and her "people", she wanted to travel the world and explore its' beauties.

All the problems these four faced were further being made worse by media who don't want to report the truth, but to report higher earnings and clicks. In their pursuit of that, occasionally or most of the time, people like them are thrown under the bus for things that they wouldn't do.

Operation: WorldVision this episode ended with an unexpected result. While the rivalry of North Alezia and South Alezia as two of the most successful regions in the competition remained, it was predicted that North Alezia was going to win for the fourth time, dominating the season leaving nothing but one win to South Alezia behind.

However, NEYSSA starts moving upwards in terms of popularity as the competition date became closer and closer. And the audience's reception at the hosting venue of the episode (Palacainnes Coultoural Araminhaes / Aramnan Cultural Palace) after their performance was equal if compared to the other favourite, Anneke Liezanurrahim's "Bertanya".

Eventually, as voting proceeds, NEYSSA initially got tied in terms of the regional juries, and got second from the public. However, the international juries shattered the records and secured the group's victory in the episode and their ticket to Għain, Malta Comino Gozo. The song itself is the first song in Operation:WorldVision to receive only 10 and 12 points from each Regional Jury, International Jury, and the Public.

In another note, the episode solidified the "AFK" position of the "minor-two" regions: Mosin-Nagan and the Pantabang Islands, who have never won any episode in the season and act as a "bystander" to the domination of the "big-two" regions. After the season concluded, it seems like the minor-two regions are planning to step up their game, if not dominating the second season leaving the big two behind.

Image
*soldier it up= a popular saying in the Alezian military meaning facing the issue directly

While the NEYSSA group are busy shopping and exploring Għain, the team behind the production are busy thinking about a singular thing that might seem minor, but is an important problem to solve. The timing. The Alezian Union was drawn to perform 14th, just as the sun is about to set. This proves to be a problem for the Alezian delegation, as the entry is best suited for an indoor arena or a dark place due to the great use of lighting and pyrotechnics. The staging team discusses this problem every day, even while chilling in Malta Comino Gozoan cafe. Now the Alezians felt the Achaeans who believed that the stage in Zafi back in the 93rd edition where Alezia hosted was too big for their performance. But atleast it's part of the challenge, and the MCGBC team has been working hard to create a new and enjoyful experience.

For the group, Valletta and Għain is a great experience. Thanks to the WMCA and the established relationship between the Alezian Union and Malta Comino Gozo, the Alezian delegation felt right at home. The food is great, the climate is great due to the similiarities of its' weather with their native South Alezia, the accomodation is great, and the hospitability is like no other. Malta Comino Gozoans seems to be people who don't think that appearances especially cultural appearances are something to be hated about, but to be embraced. Surely, Malta Comino Gozo is a positively memorable experience for everyone in the Alezian delegation.

(The entry starts with guitar strungs and the stage filled with smoke as the NEYSSA band remain covered by smoke. Eventually, the sudden (intentional) glitch of lights and camera view reveals the band first before revealing the main singer at the center as the camera rotates 360 degrees and zooms forward)

Kau tutup matamu, kaburkan pandangan, hancurkan realitamu
You close your eyes, blur your view, destroy your reality

Kau tusuk hatiku, tutup pintu hati, dan berdusta di mukaku
You stabbed my heart, close your heart's doors, and lied to my face

(Another "glitch" changed the view to show the drums for a split second before returning back to Nissa singing the first and second parts of the verse before then moving to Sylvie and Anna shown using their string instruments to create a rash but fun harmony, the one that has been planned since the first meeting between NEYSSA and ABA Doorsbreeken)

Kau anggap kau suci, kau anggap kau benar
You think you're pure, you think you're right

Kau anggap pilihanku ialah racun untuk mu
You think that my choices are poison for you

Kau punya segala, kuasa atas segalanya
You have it all, the power over all

Kau kira kau berjaya ambil kebebasanku
You thought that you've succeeded taking my freedom from me

(And suddenly, the lights became violent showing a combination and white and purple on stage which earned a great reaction from the audience who has been flying flags from countries around the world. The view from the far right side of the stage at large shows the stage where Nissa stood behind her standing microphone and playing her guitar while Sylvie and Anna moved around playing guitar and bass and exchanging places with each other)

Lepaskan dia
Release her

Lepaskanlah hatinya
Let her heart go

Bebaskan dia
Let her free

Karena dia!
Because of her!

(And then the view changes to the far left side of the stage and quickly moves forward and zooms and stops facing towards the singer as she sung the title of the song and stopped playing her guitar and pulled the microphone away from its' stand... but that's not all!)

Dan untuk dikau
And for you

Jika kau mau menjaga malu,
If you want to guard your shame

Hargai dia!
Respect her!

(Nissa's way of holding the mic was nearly acrobatic as her hands quickly played the mic as if it's a pen! And then she threw it upwards to the sky before catching it perfectly, copied as well by a new sillhouette of purple and black at the LEDs! And this was all shown on live TV! This was met with enthusiasm as Sylvie and Anna walked towards Nissa and also joint enthusiasm and horror from MCGBC and ABA because if that mic broke on-stage, it would be a disaster since ABA would probably have to pay a lot of money to MCGBC for the damages... Or worse, either the mic hit Nissa, the other members, or even worse, the audience! Boy, surely the ABA would NOT like the injury suit...

That's why in the meeting, ABA Executives told Nissa to either cut the act from the live performance, or be extra careful. She chose the latter, and looks like she succeeded unscathed and ready for the next part of the song! She stopped her quick act and put the mic back to its' stand in front of her as Sylvie and Anna also walked backwards)

Kau berhak berkuasa,
You've the right to rule

Kau berhak 'tuk berkata,
You've the right to speak

Kau tak berhak 'tuk lukai hati
You've no right to hurt a heart

(The camera view changes to show the other team members singing the next part. First sentence from Anna, then second to Sylvia, before ending with a zoom-in towards Sari drumming and singing the last part before Sari did her OWN act of throwing her drum sticks upwards, then catching it to transition the scene back to the reff)

"Kau terlalu tertutup, kau terlalu terbuka,
"You're too closed, you're too open"

Pilihanmu tak alami"!
"Your choices aren't natural"!

(The camera then changes its' view from far away as it zoomed in and shows Nissa staring towards the audience with serious intent when she sung "Hargai Dia". You might not see her mouth, but her eyes has represented more than enough).

Dan untuk dikau
And for you

Jika kau mau menjaga malu,
If you want to guard your shame

Hargai dia!
Respect her!

(The stage dims for a while except for the light above Sari. And for the TV viewers, the view narrows a bit somewhat like Portugal's entry in Eurovision 2021, but instead of black and white, it's dominated by black and purple, as Sari in a techy voice reported a techy report to the audience while an effect of binaries and coding put into place. The binary and code then dispersed, the black and purple returned to the normal colours, Sari looked away for a bit, before staring to the camera again while monotonously saying "DELETE", prompting a quick zoom-in then a zoom-out.)

Image

"Scanning the world: Completed.
Illegal operations detected.
DELETE."

(The LED shows a progress bar and the lights above shows white and purple again slowly following the progress bar's... well... progress. In that LED is also shown papers titled "Hate Speech", "Discrimination", and "Hate" and other things falling downwards to a violent fire. While the progress bar's moving, Nissa pivoted away from the audience as she's blasted with white and purple overhead lights. While this is happening, the others are playing their instruments, showing a splitscreen of bass and guitar, before joined by the drums before the vocals returned indicated with a fade to white).

(And suddenly, the lights return and once again became violent showing a combination and white and purple on stage which earned a great reaction from the audience who has been flying flags from countries around the world. While this might look samey to the previous ones, this one is different because this time fireworks starts falling down and fire pyrotechnics starts flying upwards aswell.

The view from the far right side of the stage at large shows the stage where Nissa stood behind her standing microphone and playing her guitar while Sylvie and Anna moved around playing guitar and bass and exchanging places with each other)

Lepaskan dia
Release her

Lepaskanlah hatinya
Let her heart go

Bebaskan dia
Let her free

Karena dia!
Because of her!

(The camera then changes its' view from far away as it spins slowly and zoomed in and shows Nissa in the midst of an amazing Alezian rocking, pyrotechnic spectacle staring towards the audience with serious intent when she sung "Hargai Dia".).

Dan untuk dikau
And for you

Jika kau mau menjaga malu,
If you want to guard your shame

Hargai dia!
Respect her!

(The view shows the stage presenting a more violent light spectacle, turning on and off alternatively between white and purple for a quick split second. The camera shows Sari from the left side with her monotonous voice reporting to the audience, and then for the next part from the right.)

"Installing the final stages.
Installling normalcy and peace."

(Eventually, the camera shows the group gathering to the center and creating the final group pose: Sylvia and Anna pointing the tip of their guitars to the left and right, Sari pointing her drumsticks to the sky, and Nissa doing a final microphone throw before catching it and pointing it to the audience. Once the pose is completed, the camera zoomed out quickly, the white and purple lights flew outwards, and the last of fireworks and fire spewed.)

(A massive shout of approval and happiness from the audience of the open venue. The group celebrated while Nissa shouted "THANK YOU SO MUCH! DANK JE, TERIMA KASIH, GHAIN!" before taking her breath and shouted again, "LET'S END HATE AND DISCRIMINATION. PEACE!". The group waved and celebrated before leaving the stage, leaving the camera to show audiences coming far away from the Alezian Union celebrating their entry for peace).

Kamilė Nomeikaitė — “Kodėl?”

Music: Luis Miguel Ferreira Barceló, Minna Šiljan
Lyrics: Kamilė Nomeikaitė, Nikou Golchehreh Qaderi, Persijs Sietnieks
Tune: Gabriela Gunčíková - I Stand

< Introduction / Уздва >

KTP, Uthossia's national public broadcasting corporation, although not yet participating, had officially sent a delegation at the previously-held 104th WorldVision Song Contest in Mariensbourg, Carrelie, to see for the first time how the competition worked as a whole. The broadcaster already had plans in the past to debut in the contest, but were almost immediately deemed unachievable due to insufficient funding for preparations; however, KTP had recently received sponsorships from two undisclosed foreign companies to allocate for WorldVision-related matters, and reconsidered provisionally debuting in the next edition. Not so long after the edition ended, the broadcaster revealed their confirmation to debut in the 105th WorldVision Song Contest, and that preparations were in place. On the same day, on 24 January 2023, KTP's WorldVision participation committee had publicly announced that the winner of the second edition of the new Uthossian singing competition Kadadoj, 22-year-old up-and-coming singer Kamilė Nomeikaitė had been selected to be Uthossia's artist-representative for its first-ever participation in the contest, with the ballad she co-wrote herself, titled “Kodėl?”. She has put out many songs independently on YouTube, and has a subscriber count of over 746,000.

Praised for her angelic voice and stunning performances on Kadadoj, she was allegedly KTP's first choice in mind when it came to internally selecting their artist. Kamilė herself ecstatically remarked that being able to represent her home country as well as her hometown, Häädemeeste in Pärnu Province, on the WorldVision stage in Malta Comino Gozo as well as internationally was a dream come true and an extremely great pleasure of hers. But will Kamilė bring home a high‚ or even a podium placement for Uthossia's debut and make her country very proud, is a question of which the answer is yet to be determined... soon. Nevertheless, many Uthossians have been very stoked to know that their country will finally, after a very long wait, be represented at one of the multiverse's largest song contests. Her fellow residents of Häädemeeste have never been more excited for her than after she won Kadadoj, and do not care about the importance of any placements; the only thing of relevant importance is showcasing Uthossia's growing music industry and culture, as well as the sheer talent of a young, aspiring musician who grew up in the idyllic countryside, with the name Kamilė.

Kamilė Nomeikaitė
KAMILĖ NOMEIKAITĖ is an amateur singer born on 17 December 2001 to parents Liucyjus Nomeika, a biochemist from the village of Igliauka in present-day Lithuania, and Liudmila Biadulia, a Belarusian geographer and former singer, in the small town of Usviaty in southeastern Uthossia's Velikiye Luki Province. Kamilė's parents were both highly educated and instilled in her a love of learning and exploration from a young age. Kamilė grew up hearing her mother sing different then-popular ballad hits, such as “Byta naobana” and “Garoi romesą”, both songs of the late Uthossian singer Kamila Ramaninova, one of her mother's favorite artists. Despite their academic backgrounds, they also encouraged Kamilė's artistic pursuits, and she showed an early interest in music. Kamilė learned singing gradually, mimicking her mother's usual humming. Growing up in Usviaty, Kamilė began singing in local choirs and musical groups as a child. Her mother, Liudmila, recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue her passion for music. As Kamilė grew older, she started performing at local events and festivals, and her talent quickly caught the attention of audiences and industry professionals alike.

She was selected by her school to be their representative at the 2015 Pärnu Province Secondary Schools Singing Competition, and ultimately managed to secure a 1st place finish. She then proceeded to represent her province at the same year's Uthossian High-School Singing Competition, at which she then placed as the first runner-up below Porkhov Province's Katusha Kolomnikova. After turning 16 in 2017, she decided to pursue her dream of becoming a well-known musician, with support from her mother, and uploaded her first song on YouTube, "Tüdruk nägi lõokest", her own spin-off of a popular Estonian folk song in Uthossia. She received overwhelming support from commenters and by January 2018, it already had a view count of over 344,000, which albeit small to some people's standards, she says was a very big achievement and motivation for her. After almost two years of continuously making indie music, being able to reach 100 thousand subscribers, she took a hiatus from making music to focus more on spending time with her best friend, Tonis Kabin, and her mother. She returned in 2021 with the song song "Atrodai šiek tiek, šiek tiek vieniša?", which became viral in Uthossia.

In the same year, Kamilė decided to take her singing career to the next level by auditioning for the recently-announced second edition of the national singing contest, Kadadoj. Her performance was well-received by the juries and the audience, and she managed to qualify into the contest proper with an overall first place finish in its grand finals showdown, quickly gaining a following in her country and beyond. In the matter of two years from then, she has performed at many local venues and events, and she has built a loyal fanbase in Uthossia continuing to make music independently, putting out her two first albums. Early in 2023, she was approached by KTP regarding representing Uthossia for its debut at the 105th WorldVision Song Contest in Għain, Malta Comino Gozo, to which she eagerly agreed.

Kamilė's music is a blend of indie, pop, rock, ballad, folk, and world music styles among others, and she often draws inspiration from her experiences as well as those of the people around her. She sings in multiple languages, including New Uthossian, Lithuanian, Latvian and English. Her lyrics are very reflective and poetic, exploring themes of love, grief, sorrow, self-discovery, reminiscence, tragedy and self-empowerment. Despite her growing success, Kamilė remains grounded and committed to her studies. She is currently pursuing a degree in environmental science at the University of Tartu, and hopes to combine her love of music with her passion for sustainability in the future. With her musical talent, passion, and dedication, Kamilė is poised to become a legendary rising star in the Baltic music scene and beyond, and is set to sing for Uthossia at the country's first participation in the WorldVision Song Contest to be held in Għain, Malta Comino Gozo, with the power ballad "Kodėl?".

Performer: Kamilė Nomeikaitė
Songwriters: Kamilė Nomeikaitė, Nikou Golchehreh Qaderi, Persijs Sietnieks
Composers: Luis Miguel Ferreira Barceló, Minna Šiljan
Backing Vocalists: Mireya Carlota Velazquezina-Abarquero, Lenarts Pavlovskis, Gerasim Kriutchkov, Yulian Filipov
Languages: Lithuanian, English, Western Krytomyr, New Uthossian

"Kodėl?" is a heartfelt power ballad written in Lithuanian, English, Western Krytomyr and New Uthossian that expresses the powerful pain and poignant grief for a lost love. In the song, Kamilė's persona reflects on memories shared with her beloved (which is identified to be a male due to grammatical gender) and ponders about the untimely but inevitable tragic end to their relationship. The lyrics are filled with questions, Kamilė asking him why he broke his promise to always be by her side. He professed his love, asked for her hand in marriage, and promised to always be there for her, but then he suddenly left, leaving her heartbroken and alone. The song's text, co-written by Kamilė herself, expresses the persona's sincere love and devotion to her lost love, and how his sudden departure has left her in profound sorrow and woe. The first parts of the lyrics initially suggest that the persona had been ghosted, but the latter sentences of the song provide a sharp plot twist, now implying that their relationship had an inevitable yet tragic end; it is indicated that he had unexpectedly died. "Kodėl?" is a moving expression of grief and expresses the persona's struggle to cope with the fact that in the end, his promise of a future together with her will remain forever unfulfilled.

Kamilė woke up very early in the morning in the small hotel room she'd been staying in, feeling anxious yet so excited at the same time; it was the big day she'd been waiting for, the day of the 105th edition of the WorldVision Song Contest. She knows that she'd undergo a very hectic schedule before taking the stage in Għain and doing her best. She takes a very deep breath, trying to calm her nerves as she does her usual morning routine. She browses her messy stash of clothes and chooses to wear her all-time favorite dress, a knee-length fitted black dress with a high neckline and long sleeves, made from very stretchy material. For the morning, she spends some time warming up, practicing her voice. She'd made it her goal to make a good impression on the juries and the audience; she really wanted to do her country proud. She tries to eat some toast and drink some coffee, but her nerves and anxiety make them ridiculously hard to swallow. The rest of the day seemed to quickly pass, time had flown so quickly; she wasn't entirely sure if she had the capacity to deliver a perfect performance at the stage itself, taking the incredible pressure her fellow people from Uthossia were putting her into. Nevertheless, she chose to stay positive and keep her mind focused, forgetting all her subtle worries and letting them subside.

And then, with the blink of an eye…

it was suddenly the night of the Eurovision Song Contest, and Kamilė, the singer of "Kodėl?" was backstage, feeling the weight of her grief and the responsibility of representing her country. Her team was working hard to get everything ready for her performance, making sure that the stage was set and the lighting was perfect. Kamilė and her team were hoping everything would go on as planned, smoothly; otherwise, she was in no superiority than the other, more seasoned countries in the contest. The Alezian Union's performance was coming to a finish, her heart beating fast, getting quicker by the second. She took a deep breath, and reminded herself to do her best, no matter what; against all odds.

After the Alezian Union's song ended, Kamilė was getting ready to go on the stage, hearing the joyful screams of some of her Baltic listeners from the distance. Cheerings of support for her in this time of constant self-doubt… she absolutely loved them. She'd had months of practicing and preparations for this sole event, this sole performance, and this was her time to be put to the rigorous test. Shown on the stage behind her was black in its entirety, a faint light seeping from above onto a lonely microphone, leading the audience to focus on the stage's center. As Uthossia's postcard played after what felt like a multitude of hours staying backstage, it was now her time to show her most prized possession… her talent. She closed her eyes against the audience's resounding roars, and began to sing.

The song's first notes astounded everyone, and the audience present was shut quiet, falling silent. She sang strongly with the power of her voice as clear as a cloudless sky, the lights which once bombarded her senses only illuminating her in those very moments. With every subdued beat, the large yet empty black screen behind her abruptly shone white, momentarily startling the onlookers with the brief flashing of the lights enough to illuminate the outdoor venue's darkening surroundings.

Pris’menu pris’minimus, kuriuos sukūriau ‘r dalinaus’
I remember the memories I made and shared with you

Su Tav’mi, stengiuos’ puoselėt’, bet aš tiesiog negaliu
I try to cherish them, but I just can't

Įdomu man vis dar, ar kitiems žmonėms — lengviau, nežinau
I still wonder if it's easier for other people, I don't know

Vis dar visą dieną ‘r naktį dėl tavęs sielvartauju
I continue to grieve for you all day and night

As the song built towards its very powerful first chorus, Kamilė's voice grew even stronger and emotional. The lights intensified, the previously tiny light only enough to illuminate Kamilė and the outlines of her beautiful white dress now managing to flood over the entire stage. The screen behind her remained white, showing a glass-framed picture of a man fall for seconds and shatter on the ground, while she sang her last line, slumping over the stage's floor. The large screen reverts back to showing the grieving expression of the color black, the stage covered in such gloom once again.

Bet kodėl?
But why?

Kodėl?
Why?

Pažadėjai man, "Būsime kartu
You promised me, "We'll be together

Visad’, amžinai", bet paleidai Tu
Always, forever", but you let go

Kodėl?
Why?

The song's second verse starts and Kamilė is seen kneeling, the camera focusing on the indescribable but relatable feeling of mixed grievance and anger on her dimly-lit visage, all the while extending her left hand towards the audience. While she sang her second line, a white outline of a flower is seen pulverized into ashes, falling into the hands of an unknown person. The third line comes, and the stage's large screen rapidly flashes the color white with the drop of every syllable before the fourth line. An outline animation of a single arm extending and hesitantly being lowered is seen, before suddenly vanishing.

Išpažinai Tu savo meilę, paprašei mano rankos
You professed your love, you asked for my hand

Uždėjai Tu rūtą ant mano plaukų, nesigailėjau
You put a rue on my hair, I didn't regret it

Tačiau, kas vėliau įvyko
But, what happened next

Išėjai, taip anksti baigės’
You had left, it was all over so soon

The visuals go back to displaying a very intense white, showing the second chorus' lyrics in a her performance's usual contrasting black. The emotions inside Kamilė were intensifying as well, and she wanted to break down crying from the stress she's experiencing, but she remembers the support her parents had given her: she's doing this performance also as a dedication for her parents' never-ending love.

But why leave?
Why leave?
Oh, you promised me, "We'll forever be"
Бомасил, ‘кий пільнумать тивалиш (Bomasyl, ‘kyj piljnumatj tyvalyš)
You made a promise you won't ever get to fulfill

Why leave?

The song's bridge, composed of three lines, comes, and Kamilė realizes that her performance is ultimately coming to an end. A white outline animation of an eye blinking and tearing up is shown on the mostly-black screen behind her, and gradually fades. Kamilė slumps back down, now extending her right arm towards the venue's audience.

Amoju vį kiūrėgos
I loved you so dearly

Паче тарано прастил? (Pače tarano prastil?)
Why did you have to say goodbye so early?

Kiūros
My dear

A picture of a couple appears on the stage's screen fading in, but is teared apart by two hands at the arrival of the last chorus' second line, which Kamilė sings clear and strong. A pre-recorded close-up shot of Kamilė with closed eyes is displayed as the background visuals on the third line's onset, and a single tear falls and flows on her left cheek, the shot's primary focus. The pre-recorded close-up shot then slowly zooms out; in it, Kamilė is seen lip-syncing. By the time the last line arrives, the shot has already zoomed out enough to show the context of the shot; she had been kneeling beside the grave of her long-dead love, while she wipes another falling tear, an expression of emotionless grief on her face. In her real-life performance, Kamilė closes her eyes, as she sings the last lines of her song.

Kodėl?
Why?

Why leave?
Pažadėjai man, "Būsime kartu
You promised me, "We'll be together

Abu prieš pasaulį", tačiau dabar
Both of us against the world", but now

Verkiu
I [can only] cry

Karstui
To your coffin

She had poured her entire heart and soul into every word, and as the final notes rang out, the audience erupts into a loud applause. Kamilė thanks her moved audience, taking a deep bow to show her gratefulness. Kamilė and her team were very happy that her performance as well as Uthossia's debut performance in the contest went well, and she herself knows that she's given her best, and that's all that mattered for them. On that night, Kamilė had done Uthossia so proud, the silence of many Uthossians watching at home being broken, a deafening applause resounding in the walls of every household in her home country. But before returning backstage and letting the next country perform, as well as finding relief from all the different emotions she was experiencing, she knew what to do first before relaxing.

"Thank you, everyone… I love you all! Ačiū visiems!"

Miranda Menezes - Ain't Worth It
Tune: Gaby Amarantos - Ex Mai Love

m & l: Rogerio Mendonca, Amauro Mora

The cold, outdoor night settles in. As the strums of a guitar introduces the audience to the Anturian song, what the audience (television one, at that) can see is a hand strumming a guitar. After it ends, the audience can see Miranda, sporting an afro in comparison to her usual relaxed hair. She is wearing a bright red dress reminiscent of resort outfits, barefoot. Standing atop a pedestal, microphone stand in front, she sings with a soulful, wonderful voice that soars through the entirety of Ghain. Additionally, the stage is colored bright red, with several wooden torches scattered across the stage.
Cintaku sedang kutenun
Dengan benang terbaik
Cintaku ini sempurna
Seperti keramik membentuk mozaik
Betapa terkejutnya
Melihat dirimu bersama sang gundik
Teganya, pria yang hina
Memang dirimu ini sangatlah licik

Soon, Miranda sings the chorus, with the camera occasionally focusing on the guitar player and the backing singers located on her right side.
It ain’t worth it, it ain’t worth it
Memberikan cinta yang terbaik pada orang yang tidak menghargai
It ain’t worth it, it ain’t worth it
Memberikan cinta yang terbaik pada orang yang tidak menghargai

Soon, Miranda starts singing the verses again.
Cintaku sedang kutenun
Dengan benang terbaik
Cintaku ini sempurna
Seperti keramik membentuk mozaik
Betapa terkejutnya
Melihat dirimu bersama sang gundik
Teganya, pria yang hina
Memang dirimu ini sangatlah licik

And later on, for the chorus, Miranda sings with the same wondrous voice that the audience have heard earlier. With the song putting the audience in a rather festive mood, the camera would sometimes capture the audience dancing slowly in rhythm to the song. Miranda, deep down, feels grateful that the audience has appreciated the song as much as she does.
It ain’t worth it, it ain’t worth it
Memberikan cinta yang terbaik pada orang yang tidak menghargai
It ain’t worth it, it ain’t worth it
Memberikan cinta yang terbaik pada orang yang tidak menghargai
It ain’t worth it, it ain’t worth it
Memberikan cinta yang terbaik pada orang yang tidak menghargai

The song ends, Miranda then says, "Thank you, Malta Comino Gozo." and goes backstage with the rest.

My love is being weaved
With the best threads
My love is so perfect
Like how ceramics formed mozaics
How shocked am i [later on]
When i saw you with that mistress of yours
You're so cruel, what a despicable man
You are indeed a very cunning man

It ain’t worth it, it ain’t worth it
Giving your best love to people who don't appreciate it
It ain’t worth it, it ain’t worth it
Giving your best love to people who don't appreciate it

Lyrics-

En, to, en to tre fire!
(One, two, one two three four!)

Jeg føler at jeg overtrer
(I feel I am trespassing)

Midnattssolen varmer huden min
(The midnight sun warms my skin)

Regnskyer i det fjerne for å bryte auguststillheten
(Rainclouds in the distance to break the August silence)

...

Denne melasseluften gjør meg svimmel
(This molasses air is making me dizzy)

Hvorfor kan jeg ikke være vanlig
(Why can't I be ordinary)

Hvorfor er jeg overlatt byrden av fikse alt
(why am I left the burden of fixing everything)

(Chorus)

Ikke fortell meg å slutte å få panikk
(don't tell me to stop panicking)

Du droppet alle fyrstikkene nå brenner alt
(You dropped all the matches, now it's all burning)

Men du ga meg unnskyldningen til å løpe inn i skogen
(But you gave me the excuse to run straight into the woods)

Og jeg kommer ikke tilbake!
(And I'm not coming back!)

...

Jeg føler at jeg overtrer
(I feel I am trespassing)

Midnattssolen varmer huden min
(The midnight sun warms my skin)

Regnskyer i det fjerne for å bryte auguststillheten
(Rainclouds in the distance to break the August silence)

Må skybruddet oversvømme kjelleren din
(May the cloudburst flood your basement)

På denne skyfrie himmelen
(In this cloudless sky)

Jeg er en inntrenger
(I am a trespasser)

Jeg er en inntrenger
(I am a trespasser)

Jeg er en inntrenger
(I am a trespasser)

Jeg er en inntrenger
(I am a trespasser)

Jeg er en inntrenger
(I am a trespasser)
Slight rant-
TERF is a slur. Biological sex is real, important, and immutable and women's rights will not be ignored.
Saving the environment is not about vapid "VSCO girl" aesthetics, or wanting to be an edgy rebel activist. It's about not dying slowly, horribly, and painfully along with everything else on this lonely outpost in space that serendipitously happened to spawn beautiful life.

OOC-

The 104th Worldvision Song Contest that took place in Mariensbourg, Carrelie saw Aenglide, who was represented by the young Vekilulas pop rock band AnÿmeHouse and their upbeat and light-themed song ‘Upside-Down World’. The band was hyped up by many excited Aenglish fans, and it seemingly resonated with the rest of the world with a quite good seventh place, out of a total of 26 participating countries. Aenglide totalled at the end with 166 points, with a bit of a ten-point gap away from sixth place. The seventh place placing made this entry equal with Aenglide’s entry in Worldvision 96, where Delia Kísjvor scored Aenglide’s first top-ten result by also placing seventh, however with 181 points, which is more than our 166.

With the entry’s results, the jury results were a bit more disappointing than Worldvision 103 in Richmond, StrayaRoos, because in that edition, Aenglide received four sets of 12 points in the jury, from The Hlhata States, Placely Placington, StrayaRoos and Mister X. In Worldvision 104, Aenglide only received one set of 12 points, and it came from StrayaRoos. No surprises there really as that nation loves our music a lot for some reason, and enough to give all of our entries 12 points. The jury ended us in tenth place, but thankfully a 90 point televote managed to bump Aenglide’s place into seventh.

Aenglish Worldvision fans were relatively pleased with the final result of seventh place. It isn’t exactly where they hoped would have placed, but they are thankful that the song didn’t place any lower on the leaderboard. As mentioned multiple times, the song massively contrasted Aenglide’s entry for Worldvision 102 in Thatcher City, Mister X, where the heavy rock band Den Vókteren sent their dark alternative rock song “Harrowing Streets” which contained gloomy and horrific lyrics. The Aenglish public did not approve well of the entry, and this also reflected upon the total results of the night, where Aenglide placed at a relatively measly twelfth place, with 120 points. In contrast, the Aenglish fans were delighted to see that ‘Upside-Down World’ had placed higher and gained more points than ‘Harrowing Streets’ because of its lovely and bright musical feel.

AnÿmeHouse went on to have success in their home country of Aenglide, with Upside-Down World topping number one on the charts on the Aenglish Weekly Music Charts, as well as selling out tickets of live performances from Aenglide’s largest cities, to the smaller towns. They’re even looking to branch out internationally and perform in countries such as StrayaRoos and especially Malta Comino Gozo. The local fans from Aenglide think that the Malta Comino Gozoans will enjoy the song since it sounds like a 5ive song, or any song from another classic pop rock band, since that country is famous for producing pop rock bands.

Not long after Worldvision 104 came to an end, it was made clear that conveniently, Għain, Malta Comino Gozo would be hosting as the only bidder for this edition. ÆTV then went on the search for who would represent us, and quickly they saw that previous Worldvision participants The Mercantiles were willing to participate again, and a shining beacon after giving Aenglide the first podium placing of Worldvision, at second place.

The Mercantiles in 2014. From left to right, Evángeljna Ijnán Këënuri, Tom Klájman and Jan Jívnu.

The Mercantiles is a band formed in 2005 who hail from the western Aenglish city of Akjefuldin, the musical capital of Aenglide known for its rock scene. The band formed from three friends that attended Kinlan Academy, a public high school in central Akjefuldin, who all reunited at the Aenglish Music Academic College in Aenglide’s capital city of Keterig. The band consists of, in the respective order of the image above; Evángeljna Ijnán Këënuri, Tom Klájman and Jan Jívnu. The band’s lineup remains the same and all too familiar as the band members have not been changed since Worldvision 97. Evángeljna is the lead singer of the band. She can also play the electric guitar, however Jan is the electric guitar player, and Thom is always at the back with a drum kit set as the band's drummer.

We are also familiar with the band’s history, which was introduced in their first participation. Their name was quite a mystery of an etymology, but it was Jan who found a random English word that sounded long and smart, and it somehow just stuck on amongst them. While they were studying at the music academy, they were tired of studying in their boring music theory classes and decided to start a part time band. As their education reduced their time, they were creating little to no music with education. They got sick of school wasting their time and so they dropped out of school to sing songs as their career. They dragged on making a few albums but picked up little recognition, and did not expand well outside of a local band. For around ten years, funds for their band did not meet adequate standards and they had to quit for some time.

However, Thom called the members to reunite after they heard that Aenglide was making its first participation in Worldvision. They tried to find a spot with a bit of a highlight - and that is where Ænglidsféstival, a short-lived national final that selected two of Aenglide’s entries at the time, came into play. Evángeljna made sure she spread her word about going to Worldvision 97, and she was optimistic about the band’s chances since they were giving opportunities for six different artists. She applied to ÆTV to get The Mercantiles to enter the newly-founded national final selection. All three of the members started to become self-proclaimed Worldvision fans, especially Evángeljna, who had been following Worldvision since Aenglide’s debut entry, and being half-Hööra on her mother’s side, she was excited to see an entry compete in Worldvision that would be in the Hööra language and about Hööra culture. She and the rest of the band felt lucky and excited to take such a good opportunity for them and experience something that was going to be televised around Aenglide, and have viewership across all of the metaverse.

But this was all back at their first participation for the 97th Worldvision Song Contest in Norfolk Pinewoods, Beepee. Since then, a few things have changed. Ænglidsféstival was discontinued after Worldvision 97, (and if you want to count Worldvision 99, however ÆTV ultimately decided to internally select the Aenglish representative for that contest anyway.) Also, The Mercantiles are a much more popular band nowadays, after they landed on second place in Worldvision 97 with 179 points out of a total of 25 participating countries. Because of this, they were able to perform in large-scale contests not only within Aenglide but also outside of our borders to different countries. ‘Benevolent Frequencies’, their song for Worldvision 97, also charted in Malta Comino Gozo and Darkmania. Also, another thing has happened that has kind of upset Evángeljna due to her heritage - The Autonomous Province Hööra in northeastern Aenglide does not participate as their own country anymore, due to a lack of artists from the small-populated autonomous province. Now, if any Hööra artist wants to participate in the Worldvision Song Contest, they can participate through Aenglide. Evángeljna has called this ‘heart-breaking but expected, with a tiny amount of people’.

When they were selected to be Aenglide’s representatives for the 105th Worldvision Song Contest in Għain, Malta Comino Gozo, they took a trip down memory lane for another time and reflected on their past time at Worldvision. They remember themselves feeling nervous yet prepared to take themselves on the stage and perform in front of the entire metaverse, in front of many cameras filming the metaverse’s largest televised song contest. They remember starting off shy but building themselves up and then feeling accomplished after their performance. They remember the rush of the jury votes, having received three sets of 12 points from Illdonya, Malta Comino Gozo and Vartugia. Tied for most sets of 12 points received in the jury vote, with Polkopia.

In fact, their biggest competitor in that contest was Polkopia, and their entry “What’s Wrong?” by Biyan’ka, since the televote also came down to both Aenglide and Polkopia. Aenglide had received 96 points in the televote which was the most handed out to a single country in Worldvision 97, and it bumped them up to first place. Then, the Achaean Republic had received their televoting points. Scoring 83 points there, they weren’t able to take over Aenglide, and just slotted in behind us in second. It looked safe for Aenglide and The Mercantiles. But, as the crowd inside the Waratah Theatre in Norfolk Pinewoods were all geared up to have the winner revealed to the whole world, the presenter Harry Balsac said this:

“This is it, the final result.”

“Either Aenglide or Polkopia will be crowned tonight's champion.”

“Will Aenglide win their first contest or will Polkopia win their tenth?”

“Biyanka performed "What’s Wrong?" for Polkopia tonight and certainly the National Juries found nothing wrong with her performance, placing her first with one hundred and eleven points.”

“Aenglide scored a massive 96 points in the televote, and Polkopia will need to receive over 68 points to claim the crown.”

“I have been told the results are ready. So let us now get the Polkopian results.”

Image
The final leaderboard of Worldvision 97 in Norfolk Pinewoods.

Polkopia ended up receiving 85 points, which was a smaller amount of televote points than Aenglide, but the leaderboard told it all. Polkopia managed to just climb up to the top, placing Aenglide down in second. Aenglide was a relatively distant 18 points away from first place, and if it weren’t for 3 points, Aenglide would have placed third behind the Achaean Republic. It was a disappointing feeling for The Mercantiles and for all of the Aenglish Worldvision fans watching on. However, The Mercantiles were still grateful and humbled to have received such a high placing at second place, and to have achieved Aenglide’s first podium placement.

Even though they didn’t win, they felt like they achieved something great and something big. But their second placement is why they’re back. They believe they can do more, and there is only one place they can do better. First place. Their previous entry ‘Benevolent Frequencies’ is so far Aenglide’s second best participation in the Worldvision Song Contest, of course just one placement behind the well-known Jannix & Eva Kújlora’s winning performance in Keterig for Worldvision 98. It resonated well with the Beepeean and the wider international audience, so since then they have written another song that the band hopes will please the crowd just as well as Benevolent Frequencies did. Introducing the song: ‘Raging Wildfire’.

The Mercantiles' seventh studio album, entitled 'Inspirational Infidelity' (2023).

The second song that The Mercantiles will be sending and performing to the Worldvision Song Contest is Raging Wildfires, an alternative rock song with electronic influences, similar to Benevolent Frequencies, their entry back in Worldvision 97. The song features on their seventh studio album ‘Inspirational Infidelity’ that was released at the beginning of 2023, whilst Worldvision 104 was underway and nearly coming to an end. Like Benevolent Frequencies, Raging Wildfires was also later released as a single as soon as it was announced as Aenglide’s performing song for Worldvision 105.

The song has lyrics of the theme of a burning fire. Like “Harrowing Streets” by Den Vókteren, which was Aenglide’s entry to Worldvision 102, it is lyrically dark and less-positive, and the vocals have grungy undertones that may or may not be too fit for Worldvision. Den Vókteren managed to only score a relatively measly 12th out 30 countries, which based on our current placements, isn’t ideal. Aenglish supporters have said that the strong rock noises and drum sounds make up for it though, and it’s The Mercantiles performing, so hopefully it will be an improvement from Den Vókteren’s performance. It’s surprising that The Mercantiles wrote a song like this for Worldvision, and it’s a bold move from them, as it contrasts very well with their positive lyrics that were written for ‘Benevolent Frequencies’, and now a song about a dark, soulless fire that is burning up, the general message there being a song about troubling feelings inside of someone. The Mercantiles capture this quite well.

At this point, it is Aenglide’s second rock song in a row, of course following the light pop-rock song Upside-Down World by AnÿmeHouse, which has taken a turn into Alternative Rock with The Mercantiles and Raging Wildfires. Because The Mercantiles is returning to Worldvision, Aenglish Worldvision fans have been excited with Raging Wildfires, mostly citing that Benevolent Frequencies came second back in Worldvision 97, so they’ve been filled with high hopes for Worldvision.

Some Aenglish fans have said that they don’t think The Mercantiles will necessarily win, however they hope for a good placing that does good, if not just as well as their previous participation. Despite this underlying support, the song hasn’t gained as much hype as Upside-Down World from the previous edition. So far, the song has charted to a peak at number 6 on the Aenglish Weekly Music Charts, unlike the usual Aenglish Worldvision entries that climb to the top of the charts instantly as soon as they’re announced as the Worldvision song being used to represent Aenglide.

While not necessarily a city but rather an island, Għain, part of Malta Comino Gozo’s wonderful collection of islands, is a mediterranean climate island with warm weather and great views of the surrounding oceans. It’s our friendly nation Malta Comino Gozo’s fourth hosting of the Worldvision Song Contest - however the first one outside of the nation’s capital and largest city Valletta, which should prove to make for an interesting contest. It’s nice to see the country switching it up with the location, and also the stage too! The contest will be performed on an outdoor stage for a classic concert style, so the time of our performance matters slightly more this time around. It’s a lovely planned venue - with some toilets, food and drinks and other services provided in the event facility.

It’s great to be back in Malta Comino Gozo. The first and last time where we came to the country for Worldvision was back in Worldvision 96, where Valletta hosted and Aenglide sent Delia Kísjvor and her song “You Don’t Love Me”, which was our first ever top ten placement, coming 7th place out of 34 participating countries, with a total of 181. It was the first time that Aenglish Worldvision fans actually enjoyed Worldvision, and her performance was a big reason how Worldvision gained popularity in Aenglide. You could say that she’s done quite a bit to kick off Aenglide’s love for Worldvision, and the same applies about her time in Malta Comino Gozo. She did lots before her participation, mainly exploring the lovely and picturesque sights of the city of Valletta itself, to the wider Malta island area. She even spent a fair time boutique shopping in the shopping resort centre of Marsahick.

Now we have another guest to Malta Comino Gozo - The Mercantiles. Before rehearsals, interviews, preparation etc. for Worldvision, they spent a few days and nights in Valletta checking out the major sights, walking the exact same streets as Delia Kísjvor did. Valletta was their hub coming into Malta Comino Gozo, until they moved to The Duke Boutique in Daħlet Marsa, on the island of Gozo. Along with the Aenglish delegation team, they decided to stay here as Daħlet Marsa, a town that they struggled pronouncing, was just a short ferry ride across the water over to Għain everything Worldvision. Even though on the promotional information, it said that delegations receive exclusive helicopter rides, The Mercantiles wanted to take the ferry instead to soak up the breeze on the water as the boat moved through island to island. Like Daħlet Marsa, they admitted that it was tricky for them to learn how to pronounce Għain (and other Malta Comino Gozoan place names in general) beforehand, wondering what the line through that h was.

Għain is a very natural island, if you look beyond the Worldvision stage itself. The Mercantiles went for a little wander around the island, seeing the best facts of the island. The oldest date palm forest is located on Għain’s northern end. They had found some curious, little sloth bears native to Malta Comino Gozo. They are cute creatures that Delia Kísjvor know very well, when she found one and wanted to keep one for herself after finding one at a zoo. The sunsets that can be seen from the island are apparently breathtaking as well, and they wanted to see one that night to see if the island lives up to its promise, or if it’s just some Malta Comino Gozoan trick. Either way, they want to try and witness it that night and that night only, because it may come across as a problem when they’re performing on stage. The last thing they want is to be blinded by golden hour sun rays while they’re performing. The band enjoyed themselves in Għain, and they simply could not wait to perform there in front of a very big crowd. Luckily for them they didn’t have to wait too long, as Worldvision began in a few days. For the remainder of their free days on the island, they relaxed back in Gozo back at the resort they were staying at until it was go time.

Image

On the grand night of Worldvision, it was quickly found out that Aenglide would be kicking the twenties off in entry number 20, between debutantes Telbnis and an electronic pop entry from Terra Zealandia. This time around, the Worldvision was announced that it was going to be held outdoors, and as aforemention, the times that everyone would be performing around were crucial to this contest, since the contest was starting before the sun was expected to drop below the horizon, and end in pitch black hours. Combined with the fact that the island of Għain apparently has quote-on-quote some of the “strongest sunsets in the world”, the band agreed that they did not want to be performing around sunset, as ideally they don’t want to go blind whilst performing live on one of the metaverse’s largest televised events. Thankfully with the lineup being sorted out before the contest itself, it was projected that Aenglide was to be performing around just after the sun went down, in the dark night skies of Malta Comino Gozo.

Unlike the usual Aenglish Worldvision competitors, who always have a sense of nervousness running through their bodies before their performances, The Mercantiles of course weren’t afraid of the Worldvision stage at all, and this is definitely thanks to their previous participation back in Worldvision 97. After a few rehearsals and interviews though, their goal was to perform nicely again and hope for a great result. Back at Worldvision 97, they were nervous, especially Evángeljna, who cried tears of happiness after her performance there. Tonight though, they know what to expect, and they’re ready to get it done.

They had their band gear transported over from Aenglide here to Malta Comino Gozo. It was a tedious wait, and the logistics of getting the heavy drum kit and instruments over by ferry to the island of Għain were a bit of a hefty process, however the production team of Worldvision and the local transport businesses were probably prepared for circumstances like those to happen. They’ve also hired some pyrotechnics, so there will also be added fire on stage for their performance, because, if you’re gonna have a song called ‘Raging Wildfire’ and not have any pyrotechnics, then what’s even the point?

At Worldvision, the band waited until about five entries before theirs, when they were called up to prepare themselves for their performance and be sent backstage. The Malta Comino Gozoan stage crew were all ready with the band’s instruments and heavy drum kit set that they’d be rolling as a team onto the stage, on a platform. A few songs have passed and the debut entry from Telbnis has just concluded, and as the music and lights turn off completely around the stage, Skjære from Telbnis is scurried off the stage, and as the postcard for Aenglide plays, The Mercantiles rush on to the stage along with their instruments. The band takes their places on the stage; Evángeljna is standing in front of the microphone, Jan with his electric guitar strapped around his shoulder, and Tom behind both of them on his drum set. The band is fully good to go. As the postcard finishes, the lights brighten back up on the stage and The Mercantiles are introduced. After gaining a loud reaction from the huge crowd, the music plays.

After a small approximately 15 second introduction into the song, a pre-recorded disc-spinning sound plays and that is when guitarist Jan begins to play the loud guitar, and Thom begins to play the drums. The heavy noises of both instruments both being played for the tune goes on for roughly another 15 seconds, and flashes the lights brightly. It generates more noise from the crowd. After those 15 seconds, the lights dim down again to normal, and Evángeljna begins to sing the first verse with her grungy vocals.

As the inferno burns
I start to spark and let the embers go
They glow in a shade of red
My affection for you has been set ablaze
And it fills the dying tension in me
Soon they'll want me dead

The first pre-chorus (out of a few) begins. Evángeljna walks around to the left and to the right the stage, and the cameras follow her. As she sings ‘A burning tragedy’, she holds her note and the pyrotechnics begin to shoot on up on stage.

Charring, scorching, igniting my inferno
Kindled, electrified, make me untruthful
Arson, obsession, ugly yet beautiful
A burning tragedy

The chorus begins. With every line, pyrotechnics shoot out on the stage, and the lights brighten to capture the sheer intensity of the vocals, and the sound in the chorus. This generates a wave of cheering from the crowd, which is audible during the performance. The cameras show a mix of Evángeljna, the whole stage in general with all of the band, and the crowd, which can be seen waving flags of all different colours and enjoying the music.

I’m captivated, filled with rage
Make me a liar
You take me in and I crumble
Burning desire
Devastation at the masses
Fail to inspire
It’s only me and I burn like
A wildfire
Yeah, a wildfire (yeah)

Then comes the next verse. The lights dim down again to the same brightness as the first verse, and the camera focuses mainly on just Evángeljna singing. The LED lights show a gradient of red, orange and yellow, like a fire, fitting the clear theme of a raging fire.

It inches closer and starts to surround us
It’s a burning piece of philosophy
Enscribed in burning hearts
I feel the world crumble into pieces
Finding myself endlessly searching
For the broken parts

Back to another pre-chorus, and the cameras pan out to the audience occasionally, but mostly on the stage itself. The general spotlights on the stage gradually get brighter in preparation of the chorus.

Charring, scorching, igniting my inferno
Kindled, electrified, make me untruthful
Arson, obsession, ugly yet beautiful
A burning tragedy

To intensify the weight of the chorus, the screen starts shaking and rapidly switches between shots of the stage in general with all the band, and shots directly concentrated on Evángeljna’s face as she sings. The pyros are ignited for this part.

I’m captivated, filled with rage
Make me a liar
You take me in and I crumble
Burning desire
Devastation at the masses
Fail to inspire
It’s only me and I burn like
A wildfire
Yeah, a wildfire (yeah)

This shortened pre-chorus acts as a break before the grand ending. The lights are all dim, the LED lights behind the band are nearly completely off. The cameras all point at Evángeljna, splits into three views in a vertical formation, two from each side and the middle shows a face-on shot of Evángeljna. Nothing else. This entire part is completely minimal as the whole performance prepares for the ending.

Charring, scorching, igniting my inferno
Kindled, electrified, make me untruthful

It’s the ending, represented with two choruses. To capture the sheer intensity of the final choruses, the camera shakes slightly incoherently and randomly as shots of the stage with all of The Mercantiles and general shots of Evángeljna are mixed around. This doesn’t happen with shots of the crowd though, which like most of the whole performance, are added in occasionally. The audience can be audibly heard through the microphones from their very loud reactions.

I’m captivated, filled with rage
Make me a liar
You take me in and I crumble
Burning desire
Devastation at the masses
Fail to inspire
It’s only me and I burn like
A wildfire
Yeah, a wildfire (yeah)

Huge pyros that shoot up tall with the loud guitar noises, as well as both the LEDs and the stage lights that are brightened to the maximum, and Evángeljna’s powerful vocals in the ending all help make the ending feel incredibly grand and spectacular. The cameras are only focused on the stage now.

I’m captivated, filled with rage
Make me a liar
You take me in and I crumble
Burning desire
Devastation at the masses
Fail to inspire
It’s only me and I burn like
A wildfire

The performance is concluded! As Evángeljna manages to catch her breath after a unbelievably compelling performance, and both Jan and Thom with their instruments manage to relax themselves after a great entry, Evángeljna shouts “THANK YOU GĦAIN”. She miraculously manages to pronounce the island’s name as the band hides behind the faint smoke of the pyros. They are extremely satisfied with their performance and they definitely believe that they have made a great comeback.

As the lights went down on the stage and everything became hidden, The Mercantiles, along with the drum set, were rushed off the stage, and allowed SHINDO and Jen Elavich from Terra Zealandia, who would be performing straight after them, to enter up to the stage just past them. As the band returned to the green room, and sat in their seats, they hugged each other, pretending like it was their first time at Worldvision. They were relieved that they were able to relax and watch the rest of the performances go on, and wait on for the voting process. They had their fingers crossed in hope that it’d be a good result just like Worldvision 97.

Country Name: Terra Zealandia
Artist Name: SHINDO ft. Jen Elavich
Song Title: Sky High
Languages: English

Music: SHINDO, Matt Harlock, Miles Harlock
Lyrics: Jen Elavich, Oliver Bridge
Tune: SACHI - Take Me Back

Introduction

The 104th Worldvision Song Contest in Mariensbourg, Carrelie saw Terra Zealandia performing the song “Louder”, by the electronic act Mount Pukenui. The act received a final placement of 16th out of 26 countries, with a total of 92 points. Not only was it the same exact placement as Terra Zealandia’s entry in Worldvision 103, which was the song “Shine” by Lily Marsden, there were also the same number of countries performing in that contest as well, 26. So both entries were 16th out of 26. Shine just edged it out however, as that song received 112 points in that contest. Louder had a middling response from the juries, with only a 10 from Britonisea and an 8 from the Alezian Union, unfortunately unlike Shine which received a surprising three sets of 12 points in the jury voting.

It was an electronic song with dark lyrics and a gloomy and a somewhat mystical vibe, which probably was the reason why it wasn’t shown well amongst the juries and the audience. While Terra Zealandian Worldvision fans resonated with the one-man electronic music producer, it must’ve not caught on with people from other countries. After an unsurprising result, in the midst of overcoming recent intense flooding events and Cyclone Arielle hitting the country, TZBA searched for something better, and a song that was sure to find some enjoyment in the international Worldvision Community.

Matt and Miles Harlock (in respective order) from SHINDO on the left, and Jen Elavich on the right.

SHINDO is an electronic pop duo from Barington formed in 2012 made up of brothers Matt and Miles Harlock. They have performed at many electronic music festivals around the world and create music designed for the party enjoyers. So far they’ve released 3 albums, and a few singles from those albums. Their music style is fun and light electro pop, for an ideal summer tune. However, they’re not the only ones going to Worldvision.

Jen Elavich is a singer originating from Bleydon, Norland however is based in Barington as well. She’s been in the music industry for a long time, beginning her career in 2008. She specialises in pop music, and the two artists agreed to collaborate for the Worldvision participation.

The song that they produced is called Sky High. It’s a staple SHINDO electronic pop song and it has been well received by Terra Zealandians, and it’s already climbed the weekly Terra Zealandia Music Charts at number 1. Terra Zealandian Worldvision fans strongly believe that people are going to be jumping up and down in front of the stage to this tune. It’s a summer tune, and with a Mediterranean island where rave festivals live and breathe like Għain, this is sure to fit well right in with the feel of the contest, especially cause the climate is relatively warm too. Compared to our other electronic hit from last Worldvision, Louder, this one has been more of a vibe with everyone around the world.

Performance

It was found out that Terra Zealandia was performing between Aenglide’s rock song and the lengthily-named New Zealandic South West Saint Martin. The twins from SHINDO hire a DJ set from the Malta Comino Gozoan stage crew team, and Jen Elavich walks with them with the microphone. After Terra Zealandia’s postcard, and the performance is introduced, it reveals them all on stage. The music plays and Jen Elavich begins to sing.

Feels bright today and it makes me say
Don’t want it to end, if life feels like this
We can fall in line, just take our time
Feelin’ fine and I just wanna touch the sky cause
Lately I’ve been kept awake and I can’t sleep
Cause I’ve been feeling worse than I should be
I could really just be someplace else, yeah
Someplace else, yeah, someplace

The chorus comes, and the LED screens visible behind them glow an array of colours through some purples and pinks. As the beat drops in the middle of this part, the cameras cut to the audience jumping along to the song.

Flying up, am I dreamin’?
Cause the love’s got me screamin’
I’m in the sky, I can feel it
In the sky, so damn high
I’m sky high
I’m sky high
I’m sky high
I’m sky high
I’m sky high

The song comes to the second verse. The cameras cut back to Jen singing on stage, as well as the occasional shots of SHINDO on the DJ booth.

I’m feeling good, I’ve self-improved
Reworked my mood and now it’s just bliss
Crossing the lines that kept me behind
Deep in my mind and I just wanna touch the sky cause
Lately I’ve been kept awake and I can’t sleep
Cause I’ve been feeling worse than I should be
I could really just be someplace else, yeah
Someplace else, yeah, someplace

The chorus is the last part of the song, and the LED lights showing the gradient of cool hues and the stage lights begin to gradually intensify as the song leads up to the final drop. Jen Elavich moves around the stage smiling while she sings and does dances that requires small movements. As soon as the beat drops, the cameras cut to the audience, who are audibly heard during the performance. Everyone is jumping to the song.

Flying up, am I dreamin’?
Cause the love’s got me screamin’
I’m in the sky, I can feel it
In the sky, so damn high
I’m sky high
I’m sky high
Oh, I’m sky high
I’m sky high
I’m sky high
I’m sky high
I’m sky high
I’m sky high
I’m sky high
Feels bright today and it makes me say
Don’t want it to end if life feels like this

The audience goes wild for their exciting performance, and Jen Elavich says “I love you MCG!” As stage smoke is let off, hiding them away as they exit the stage, the boys from SHINDO and Jen all hug eachother and congratulate eachother on the performance.
