Holiday greetings!

Now tradition as Christmas draws near, we're pleased to announce the fourth year of Nationstates Christmas Charity Fundraiser! By popular vote, this year we are raising funds once again for The Trevor Project which is the world's largest organization for suicide prevention and mental health support for LGBTQ+ youth.

Throw on your festive spirit and join communities across NationStates from December 11th to 25th for fun events, streams, and more from the participating regions as we fundraise together! Check out the variety of events from participating regions in the Event Schedule spoiler below as well as live streams run by the NSCCF team on our twitch in the Streams Calendar below.

Sincerest thank you to everyone who donates and shares about the fundraiser campaign! Your support for the Trevor Project ensures LGBTQ+ youth have a safe source of help in a mental health crisis and in suicide prevention.

The schedules will be shown in the spoilers for the first week, Dec. 11-17th, along with ongoing events, with a list of participating regions at the bottom.

The events for the week of Dec. 18-25th will be posted: Dec.14th, so keep your eye out for that dispatch!

You might have thought our NS DnD session was all for today, but oh no. We have a lot more to go for you yet.

Firstly, at 2AM GMT/9PM EST we be [s]unearthing some fossils[/s] hearing from some experienced players in a stream featuring NK, Dalimbar, Davelands and Scardino at 2AM GMT/9PM EST (in 13 minutes).

Then, at major update we will be having the infamous TGW/Lily chase< let's see how fast they can go!!

Both will be streamed on our twitch.

Hello all! Week 2 of the schedule for the NSCCF is up and can be found in our dispatch here: NSCCF Week 2 Schedule

As we roll through the fundraiser, it is important to remember what we ultimately host these events, contests, and streams for: The Trevor Project.

The Trevor Project works to make information and support available online 24/7 for LGBTQ youth. NS has a vast community, and many who have grown up on this site who are a part of the LGBTQ community. It is safe to say that some have benefitted from the mission and outreach of this organization. The Trevor Project will continue to be there for members of NS now and long after many of us leave. It helps not just this community, but probably people in your real life as well. Whether or not you are aware, this organization has been there for people in your life when maybe they felt they had no one else to go to. I know this organization has helped a great deal of people, including some members of the NS community

Christmas time can be an especially challenging time of year for LGBTQ+ youth- due to not being accepted by family, friends, or work. The holidays greatly impact their mental health, and make The Trevor Project a valuable resource to go to during this time.

We have some small gaps between our streams at this time, and I humbly speak out and request you help me be the voice for the LGBTQ youth in our NS community, and donate if you can, or to encourage others to do so if you cannot. Any little bit you can helps, makes a difference, and is IMMENSELY appreciated, so thank you.

Today is DnD Day!!!

From 18.00 - 20.00 UTC TWP will be hosting a holiday themed one shot hosted by Zoran!! Join Dali, Dilber, Fujai and Tera as they set off from Jingle Town. CW: Demon Clows.

Then from 21.30 rejoin Grey, Icarus, Quebecshire, Syberis and UPC, with Ghost as DM, campaign on the continent of Enness. In the final chapter of their thrilling quest!

Hello hello! We welcome you as we usher in Day 12 of the NS Christmas Charity Fundraiser. We have quite a few events today, both on our Twitch and through regions kind enough to host events in their homes!

Streams:

Starting us off @ 6:30 PM GMT (1:30 PM EST) we have The Rejected Realms! Guests include: Walrus, Dakota, and Bobberino.

Next taking the stage @ 10 PM GMT (5 PM EST) will be Lamoni and McStooley!

Soon after that, @ 1 AM GMT (8 PM EST) will be The Brotherhood of Malice, with Koth and friends!

Last, but certainly not least @ 3 AM GMT (10 PM EST) Lone Wolves United will treat us with a Scardino and Evil Wolf appearance to finish off the night.

For Regional Events: We have a game of Popmaster brought to you by The Rejected Realms starting @ 8 PM GMT (3 PM EST)! Popmaster is a fun musical trivia like event that with 3 song categories of about 10 songs each. Participants will guess the song being streamed via a VC and race to be the first to type out their guess in chat. Later this evening, our friends in The Communist Bloc and The Leftist Assembly will be hosting a 2 day chess tournament! Today (Day 1) starting @ 12:30 AM GMT (7:30 PM EST) will be hosted by TCB, and tomorrow (Day 2) will be hosted by TLA. Chess experience does not matter, so don't let that stop you! Do not sweat, though, they have collaborated to bring you one chess server for the event so folks won't have to worry about hopping between the regions. To the organizers of the NationStates Christmas Charity Fundraiser and artists that created assets in support of the fundraiser,

We have made a mistake and we sincerely apologize.

It was observed that in the tagging process of a tag raid that my region, Sparkalia, conducted in the last major update, points utilized assets from the NationStates Christmas Charity Fundraiser in an unauthorized and inappropriate way.

I would first like to start this off by saying I apologize for this occurrence. I apologize to the organizers who have done a wonderful job organizing this fundraiser for this having occurred under our watch. This was unnecessary and not at all intentional. I apologize to the brilliant artists that created this work for it being used in a way that you did not ever wish to see be used.

This was Sparkalia’s first tag raid ever and as not having created all the necessary assets for any raid like there should have been, there was confusion and the regional banner which is currently artwork from the NSCCF was utilized instead of a proper asset or simply game defaults.

This mistake is being actively rectified. Points that utilized this art from NSCCF have been instructed to immediately remove them and replace them with game defaults instead as soon as possible. Appropriate assets have been created for future use to ensure this mistake will not occur again. Rest assured that this has been a valuable lesson learned and that this will not happen again.

For any questions or concerns organizers or site staff may have, you are welcome to reach out and I will happily oblige through Discord (ChaoticSparkles#0001) or telegrams.

1. What is the Organisers' policy on the use of NSCCF intellectual property? I would assume that Sparkles/Oyus was informed of the situation herself, but public clarification of the policy would be very welcome.

2. How many anime girls did NSCCF recruit? I count Venico, Koth and Tim at least!

3. Do we have an official, final donation tally? The JustGiving page appears to indicate a $3,150 windfall thus far, which is down on NSCCF 2 and 3 but still impressive giving real-world inflation challenges and the Friday server crash.

unfortunately as much as i wish tim's could be claimed for nsccf (as this december's nser anime girl flag connoisseur :3) that was due to the recent liberation

1. Use of the art assets that people took their time to design and create for the event in this manner implies an endorsement of political gameplay that the event inherently rejects - the event is specifically designed to be outside of the realm of NS politics. Any usage that can imply endorsement for in-character gameplay is rejected out of hand, regardless of view, and to do so without the permission of the individuals who created it is doubly frowned upon. As soon as the matter was brought to the attention of Sparkles she dealt with it as swiftly as possible within the constraints of site availability, and we appreciate her cooperation.
2. We plead the 5th.
3. The final tally is indeed $3150; we don't tend to compare year to year as any amount of money raised is well worth the effort for such a good cause, not to mention that each year is fundamentally different in the events that are run, general site activity levels and real-life economic climate.
