The Insight

We got off to a great start in this Cup of Harmony earlier today, with a good win against Kazzoria. We played just as we wanted and like to, good swift damaging attacking moves to try and catch the opposing defence off guard. We managed it twice today, Olec Dasra getting his first goal for the Swartazian first team just before half time after the Kazzorian defence fumbled a front post clearance from an Asbjörn corner.

We were robbed of a perfectly legal goal just after half time however, with Benidikt Klum sccoring in the top corner before it was ruled out. Still reeling from this, we weren't in a great position to deal with Kazzoria's next attack and we paid for it, with Liam Miller slotting the ball into the bottom corner past a helpless Handorlink. The Kazzorian goal really woke us up however, and reminded us how much we needed to win the game. We hauled everyone forward furiously, hounding and pressing Kazzorian players when they were on the ball and approaching the area in great numbers. This led to Luke Darrens bringing down Klum in the box 5 minutes from the end, and he greatfully stepped up to finish the game with a well placed penalty kick.

The team are looking good for the rest of the tournament now, with everyone gelling with the new players and coming to terms with the loss of a few inspirational older players well. New recruits such as Olec Dasra and Fredrik Gaisban are looking very promising and played with a unusual confidence against Kazzoria. The rest of the team seem to be being infected by it as well, and hopefully that will be the spark to send us right to the final.

Arda are our next opponents tomorrow, in a game we pretty much have to win. It should be an easy win to put is in a good position to hopefully qualify early for the next round.

Akbarabad begin Cup of Harmony with a comfortable victory.

(Akbarabad Press, AP): The Tiger Eaters began their Cup of Harmony game in a long time with a comfortable 2-0 win over Tynelia. The problems of the World Cup qualifying campaign where we often dropped points to much lower ranked teams did not recur this time and we were never seriously troubled. A goal in each half was enough with our opponents never looking remotely likely to score. We can only hope that all other matches here are this comfortable. Anything less than a win in all our matches in this competition will be seen as a failure. Even Queer Poco el Mono Ara, if we wind up facing them, will have to be beaten. No excuses will be acceptable after our abject qualifying attempt.

Khytenna is our next opponent and they have already lost a game and should therefore present few problems. Ideally we should maintain a clean sheet as we did in this game, while looking to score some more goals. We should demonstrate to the Rejistanian audience that unlike their team, we are quite capable of scoring and entertaining while being miserly in defence.

Finn, Ben and Harry set off. Jane and Jarki still had much to do and talk about and they thought they should let them get on with it. They were sitting in their hotel room with very little to do. Football had been banned and was now no longer a sign of oppression to them, so they couldn’t fight it. Maybe they could join it, but they weren’t that sure. Ben sighed, if only their were something to do. That was when the bomb went off.

King Lucas had been chasing after this man for ages. He needed a favour from him. He walked into the bar and sat down keeping his head down low. He kicked the man next to him and slipped him an envelope. In the envelope was a piece of paper and a check for $100,000 the man nodded to say that it would be done, now it was his turn to get tracking.

It hadn’t ever bothered this man when he was about to kill someone, to him ending a life was an art, one that he had perfect, but he was bothered now. Why though was he bothered? Was it because he had to kill children? No, he had killed children before without one shred of remorse. It didn’t matter soon the answer to why he was bothered by it would be buried under two tonnes of rubble. He had planted TNT under the hotel and was holding the detonator. He was at a safe distance of 100 yards away. He pulled the lever and an explosion happened. The TNT was in the basement and when it went off it was amplified by the basement. Two of the other surrounding buildings were destroyed along with the hotel; there was no chance that they were still alive. Then he saw five people run out of the rubble and dash off down the street. It was them. He got in his car and chased after them.

"Well here we are on the end of day 2 of the cup of harmony and not much good news here really. Kazzoria have lost both of their two matches and are last in the table, hopefully next time you tune in their will be better news to bring to you with match day four against Arda."

The Romanized words were plain as day in the stern black stone: "Sadhu Javithadam Vumur." "The Empire Endures Forever."

Bhašal was back home in Mahathu, albeit in a part of the city he didn't much care for. Kuratmad was bombastic... there were massive and imposing black stone arches like the one he was staring at all over the city... relics of the old republic that sympathized disgustingly with the Roman oppressors of ancient times. In fact, if there were any buildings in sight that weren't built out of that harsh volcanic rock, he was missing them.

He turned around. Much better, he thought. He had just stepped of the transport boat from Pkethat Hevnaje. The port was beautiful, with massive three-mast pleasure boats being prepared for next month's race, cruise liners from faraway lands, and tiny fishing yachts cramming next to one another as their owner chatted jovially. The sky above was totally clear, a far cry from the rain that had been falling when he'd last left Mahathu.

In fact, Bhašal thought, what's the rush? He sat down on a public bench to take in the ocean.

Then he remembered.

The letter was still in the bag slung over his shoulder. Was it time to read it?

Bhašal opened the bag gingerly, half hoping if the letter had turned to ash during the journey, just to save him the trouble of having to decide whether to open it or not. But there it was, a sealed light-green envelope that had been sent to him a month ago.

He nervously slid a pinky finger under the seal and tore it open. The letter inside was the same color paper, with a woman's handwriting hastily scrawled upon the parchment in blue ink. He read.

Dear Father,

I'm not sorry.

You didn't deserve for Mum to stay. I still hope that you've used all this time alone to think about the direction you've gone, and the things you believe in. It's time you realize that we aren't mentally ill.

And I'm still with Mikhael.

But with that said, I miss you. I wish I hadn't shouted at you the day I ran away. I almost wish you'd stopped me. But more than anything, I just wish the whole circumstance of my desertion hadn't even been allowed to happen in the first place.

I'm not talking to Mum either, if it makes you feel any better.

I don't think I want to see you. But I'm not sure. Someday I might change my mind. In case I do, I want you to be able to find me. But I can't take the chance of telling you where I am in a letter that the Guard might intercept. Anjana knows where I am. You will find her where her mother became a healer. To find me, find her.

Bhašal looked up. He had to admit, he was relieved. He had been expecting a political, anti-government rant the likes of which he'd gotten used to in the weeks before she left. Either that or something worse, like a suicide note or something.

Anjana. She had been an old friend of Emiliaja's during primary school, they used to have her over to practice ubnej'ajat em. But that was probably twenty or so years ago. Had they reconnected?

And where on earth was this place... "where her mother became a healer?" Bhašal didn't even remember what Anjana's mother looked like, let alone what kind of healer she was. Sounded suspicious.

But wait... a fresh breeze off the sea seemed to refresh his memory. Aeliana. The one who always had that spacey look in her eye and had worn that grotesque neon blue pendant on her turban... He'd only met her once, but he was remembering... she had been a devout voodoo practitioner. So had she gone to a religious school or something?

With a strange jolt of optimism, he realized the truth... there was only one voodoo school in Mahathu, and thanks to the laws that had been in place until six years ago, Aeliana wouldn't have been permitted to attend any institution outside her home city... Mahathu. So that had to be it!

Maybe... Bhašal felt himself slide back into reality. This was stupid, he made himself think. He was on a mission, one assigned by the Premier herself. This was no time to go chasing down the mothers of childhood friends of his daughter.

But then the case was at a bit of a dead end at the moment, anyway. The leader of the gambling ring had lied right to his face about the match-fixing scandal, and though he'd offered roughly the location where Aghi was, he clearly hadn't known much more. Frustrated, Bhašal stood up from the bench.

Why not? Now that he thought about it, the voodoo school was here in Kuratmad... not far, actually. He could walk and get there in an hour's time...

Bhašal was standing on the strangest university campus he'd ever set foot on. A gigantic but morbidly deformed doll had been hung by its neck in the center of the main courtyard, overgrown with dark green and bright yellow nirizh vines. The building to his right looked quite normal (the same black stone as the rest of Kuratmad District's buildings), but smelled entirely not normal, the scent of... was it burning raspberries?... wafting out of it. On his left was another relatively unassuming looking building, evidently a dormitory, but a weird collection of students were dangling themselves halfway out the windows, shouting at each other in some bizarre tongue. Sounded... African? Bhašal couldn't even begin to guess.

The building ahead seemed the least bizarre, a low-hung black-brick administrative center, it appeared. Bhašal walked in and found an information/registration desk.

"Excuse me?"

The secretary (dressed in a skimpy long-grass skirt and adorned in dark brown face paint) set aside the sizable needle she had been wielding and looked up at him.

"Yes."

"I'm an investigator for the Ministry of Justice. I'm looking for a young woman named Anjana... I believe she's a student here."

"Anjana. Oh. Yes, I know her. Let me check her room assignment."

This was easy, thought Bhašal as the woman leafed through a pile of papers.

"Here we are. Room 208 in Thiyamaš... that's the dorm right there." She pointed at the building Bhašal had noticed just a moment ago.

Bhasal walked back out into the courtyard, ducked under the arched entryway to the dormitory, and climbed a flight of stairs. It didn't take long at all to find the room.

The door to room 208 was wide open. Thick pink and violet smoke was billowing out of it and into the hallway. Bhašal knocked on the door frame.

"Hello?"

No one answered. Bhašal waited for a moment, but then he stepped into the smoky room.

1 Win, 1 Draw and 1 Lose for The Holy Phoenix
Osarius 4 - 2 Al-Mumtaz

A first-half hat-trick by Wilson-Oaddou helped Osarius to a 4-2 win over Al-Mumtaz on 3rd matchday that kept the Osarius side for a second place in the group B of the Cup of Harmony 45.

Sanazza gave Al-Mumtaz a surprise early lead in the group match in Rejistania but Wilson-Oaddou turned the match around with three goals in a 14-minute spell.

The Attacking Midfielder Gabriel Russell netted Jallal's fourth after the break but Fauzan Kamil cut the deficit with a well-struck free-kick in the dying minutes.

The result moved Osarius up to six points from two games. Al-Mumtaz have 4 points from 3 games, with 1 win, 1 draw and 1 lose.

Al-Mumtaz coach Darko Mahmud rang the little changes in his team after their 2-1 win against Mossulia in their second match.

And it appeared to have a good effect as the Al-Mumtaz took a shock lead after five minutes. Sanazza ran on to a long through-ball from the halfway line and outpaced the Osarius defence before coolly slotting the ball past goalkeeper Albert Mariana.

Wilson-Oaddou should have brought the sides level midway through the half when his header from 10 metres cleared the crossbar. But the 31-year-old striker made amends in the 26th minute when he headed Osarius the equaliser from close range.

Osarius took the lead three minutes later. Gabriel Russell took the ball to the right byline and cut it back for an unmarked Wilson-Oaddou, who sidefooted the ball just inside the far post.

Wilson-Oaddou completed his hat-trick in the 40th minute with a flicked header on the edge of the Al-Mumtaz box that was mishandled by goalkeeper Ahmed Jallal and crept into the net.

Wilson-Oaddou went close to bagging another goal for himself in the 65th minute when his scuffed his effort wide after Gabriel's low cross had been missed by Ashley Watson.

But a fourth Osarius goal finally arrived in the 75th minute Ashley cut the ball back from the left of the box for Gabriel Russell, who slammed the ball in from 15 metres.

Fauzan Kamil did give Al-Mumtaz some cause for cheer with a late consolation goal, rifling a magnificent free-kick from 20 metres into the top left corner of Osarius net six minutes from time.

Al-Mumtaz record against Osarius is now 2-1 as we have met them at WC 50 Qualifying. there we win 3-2 at MD 11 and 2-0 at MD 22.

For the next matchday, Al-Mumtaz will be BYE.

Summary

SIKE KALI, REJISTANIA - A four-star Kagdazka and Pazhujebu side clobbered Mossulia four nil tonight in the Rejistanian capital. Nowhere to be seen was the hesitant and negative team that had taken the pitch in the Federation's two previous games; Chaya Vuhumkara netted an extravagant hat-trick, and Anastasia Khorkuleva put herself on the scoresheet in a far more legitimate way than last time. The victory vaults the Sea Urchins to first place in Xiky'het Ese (though Osarius and Akbarabad both have a game in hand). The one small sour note is that right back Plamen Radic left the match in the 27th minute because of a likely broken nose and is expected to miss the next two games. Jahat Chahachim will start in his absence.

After an early penalty for Tynelia , a ten man Khytenna couldn’t get a foot hold in this game at all, with only a few chances in the game, Khytenna slumped to their 3rd defeat of the CoH.

Khytenna started well, with an early powering shot be Firestone in the 5th minute rattled the cross bar, but this would be the closet khytenna would get to in the first half, as the worst was about to come, in the 15th minute, Watson made his way into the box and was being held on to by Dunstan, The Referee thought this was enough to award a penalty and to send Dunstan of, Watson Took the Penalty and scored putting them 1-0 ahead, Khytenna played on but with the lack of numbers the good defense Tynelia was cloused for good. The first half ended 1-0.

The Monsoon had a great effect on the pitch and coursed to injuries to the khytennan players. First it was Kusek who slid and collided with Logan and ended on the worst side, he started to limp of the pitch, second to go was Bohannan who when defending a corner slid awkwardly and bashed his head on the post, this was the same Corner that Watson got his second and Khytenna where 2 goals down and out for the count.

Advancing to the later stages seems impossible know, and Khytenna will a have a tough opponents in their next game against Osarius

That's right sports fans, it's time to throw in the towel in this Cup of Harmony. With only three match days in the books our team is all but hopelessly out of it already down five points to the second place teams in the group. Those people in mamby pamby happy land might point out we're the only blemish on first place Kagdazka and Pazhujebu's record but they haven;t faced the top two seeds yet so this won't last i'm sure. More the the point., Tynelia is the only team that hasn;t even so much as scored one lousy stinkin' goal- even bottom seed Mossulia has put up two.

Now we have to face Khytenna next. Oh sure the mamby pambies might point out how lowly ranked they are. Well to those delusionals i have to say. THEY SCORED FOUR GOALS AGAINST AKBARABAD! You know the team that shut us out 2-0 in a game that wasn't as close as the score showed? So yeah i'm sure the team's going to do REAL good in this one. Clearly the Lord of Scores has turned his back on Coach Malloy's near blasphemous ways of trying to keep the other team from receiving His blessings rather than seeking them out himself. Doesn't the Book of Margaret clearly state "Ask not what their offense can do to you but rather what your offense can do to them?" Clearly the Lord of Scores is sick of this and has turned His back on us this cup.

Time to dump the old fossil and get some fresh younger blood onto the team. Someone with guts and a style worthy of the Lord of Scores chosen people. We keep up these sorts of feeble effort and next thing you know we'll be losing to Microbia 6-0 in regional sports and not even advance to the World Cup qualifiers in the future.

So sure, let the delusion keep their still upper lips and think the team can turn this around. It ain't happening people so best to get your hopes up for us to fall short again at WC 54 if things don;t get shaken up real fast.

CUP OF HARMONY USED FOR STUDIES
Football fans lament approach by the scientists

The scientists and researchers of the Landau Institute involved in the Creations' project are conducting a series of studies about the performance of the experimental team in the Cup of Harmony, after the horrible participation during the World Cup qualifiers, in which the Creations took a long time to mature and ended losing the qualification. Before the beginning of the Cup of Harmony, the scientists were worried that the Landau Institute squad would not be able to participate in the competition, lamenting what would be a "great delay in important discoveries for the Institute in the area of genetics and mental training". Curiously, he commented nothing about loss of ranking or a missing opportunity to win a title, being much more worried with his academic activities. The same feeling was shared by another scientist of the Institute, after reading the result of the match against Unitopolis, a loss, from a report given to him: "The analysis of this game can give us some important feedback regarding the resistance of the Creations to the pressure from the stands, and perhaps also a bit of data about motivation and its effects on the field, since our players may be with low morale after missing qualification for the World Cup and almost being left out of the Cup of Harmony. I am sure such a result can be an excellent opportunity for some vital information for our studies." After the second match of the Institute, which ended in a draw against Cotdelapoms, the same scientist added: "Good, now we have two different results, so the next one could be a win, so we could compare the actions of our players in three entirely different situations. It is crucial that we focus on a victory next time to have a wide range of data to study."

But, for the ones not really linked with the scientific activities of the Landau Institute, the participation of the Creations on the Cup of Harmony has been very disapponting. First seeds of the competition, they were expected to be major contenders for the title, but so far the results are threatening even the qualification for the next stage of the event. One supporter lamented this fact: "they make risky choices in fielding the team, they should only select the best to play for our Institute! In the Unitopolis game, they ordered the coach to take off the best player of the team, to study how the team would react to this change... and in the previous match, they wanted the team to avoid making fouls to study how this approach to the match would reflect on the opponents' style. This is insane! Well, I guess insane things are common here." Others prefer to not link the new studies to the lack of success of the squad, instead wanting to note that the current squad is outdated: "Each World Cup, the nations on top of the rankings change, so the players we have right now don't reflect the current best nations in the world."

White Apples Remain Top of Table, Take on Unitopolis

A late brace from Alex Colorado saved the Apples from a loss to the peculiar Landau Institute side and kept them on top of the table in Pool A at the Cup of Harmony. Next up for the team is their all-time most familiar opponent in actual competitions, Unitopolis.

The Unitopolitans and Cotdelapomais have battled in qualifying for World Cup 53, and also in the 44th Cup of Harmony, where the Apples fell victim to the wily veteran Coreninho. The current Unitopolitan side has a distinctively Sparta flavour, featuring a pair of Cherry Red players- exciting striker Vladimir Pastiche, the current Série A leading scorer, along with 16 year old wunderkind Mark Lloyd-Joyce, who actually also has scored a goal so far despite being both the league's youngest player, and a centre-back.

The two nations had a bit of a tense relationship football wise early in qualifications for the World Cup, as naturalised Cotdelapomais Ryan O'Hanrahan, born in Unitopolis and run out of Unitopolitan football for a drug ban seemed poised for a spot on the national team because of the dearth of good Cotdelapomais strikers, but the emergence of Huw Rhys-Evans seemed to seal O'Hanrahan's fate, as did his dip in form.

Michel Carbonnier, ex-Apples' captain and Sparta teammate to Pastiche and Lloyd-Joyce, and a veteran of every match between the two in history, suggests that "We like playing and beating these guys. They're good guys who play hard, but we've seen each other a lot, and we have a relationship so it means more. We like beating the other Rushmori teams and we like beating Unitopolis. Along with Valladares, that's definitely the nation we most enjoy playing."

Manager Sacha Chrétien added that "It's definitely not hard to keep up with these guys, we get Unitopolitan TV here, we see a few of these players in our own leagues, and they play a style that's not too dissimilar to us."

There has been some speculation that Tout-Puissant Outremont, by no means lacking for great target men, are interested in Coreninho, who will likely feature prominently in the match.

Pheonix suffer blackout hangover and draw TUN 0-0.

After a mysterious power outtage stuck Sarzonia yesterday; appearently not related to two suspisious bombings the day before. As a precaution, the Qazoxian Secret Service moved Ryanne Halpberg to a moe secure unidentified location in Sarzonia. It is expected that she will be back for the Churchma game scheduled for tommorrow night.

But with the spectre of terrorism hanging in the air, and the increased security along the sidelines and within the stadium, neither team really looked comfortable playing the match. Offically only 3 shots were recorded on net and there was only one corner kick. During the match, numerous boos were sent towards the pitch, aimed at both sides the longer the match progressed.

Head Coach Thomas Holtz has this to say after the match:

Hopefully in the remainder of our matches there will be more action. But given the atomoshpere in not only the stadium, but the country following the blackout; it was like trying to play in a bowl of pudding. Neither team really felt composed out there, and I'm a bit suprised there wasn't more fouls. Hopefully we can put this game behind us and consentrate on getting a win versus Churchma.

Churchma is 1-1-1 so far tied with Qazox for 2nd place in the group, 1 point behind The Ursine Northlands; so potentially the victor could find themselves on top of the table at the halfway point.

Knights finally crack into win column!

After three games, Saugeais is exactly where they predicted: 1-1-1. How they got there, however, is a completely different story. A surprising loss to Qazox, a heart-breaking draw to Ursine Northlands, and now a shocking upset win against Churchma. Benoit Howard stated after the match, "I'm completely and utterly surprised we pulled this off. I need to go congratulate my boys; they played a hell of a match out there today." The match was pretty dull throughout to be honest, with the only signs of life coming on both goals by Saugeais. The Knights clamored together while in the box for corner kicks, not one person seemingly willing take the shot into the net. And the defense played lazily, stealing the ball but getting it stolen right back again. "I'm glad there weren't too many shots in my direction," said keeper Jacques Martin, "But it did get boring after a while. I had to keep myself awake at the interval. Slap my face, splash water there too. Something to keep me alert in case anything came my way." Indeed, some shots came his way in the second half, but they were all very pedestrian shots by Churchma, nothing really threatening.

The Saugeais second half, however was far from similar. Manager Howard must have lit a fire underneath the team, because they came out and played aggresively. Hard shots and strong tackles, with the occasional yellow card, became the norm in this half. One of those yellow-carded players, François de Gaulle, rebounded after getting penalty by stealing the ball cleanly in the Churchma box and striking it home, giving Saugeais a 1-0 lead in the 68th minute. Not long after that, Saugeais striker and Canfundéu Football League signee Thomas LeBoeuf received a well-placed through ball from Cane Pyor. He then had to make the last defender and the keeper miss his laser shot towards the corner of the net. The defender missed, and even though the keeper got a little glove on it, the ball still crossed into the net giving the Knights a 2-0 advantage with 15 minutes to play. The renowned defense then took hold of the game, stopping all Churchma attempts to keep the game close. And as the final whistle sounded, the Saugeais players leaped in joy that they had taken down an impressive footballing team.

Saugeais' next game will be against Swartaz, who are coming off a draw with Arda. We can only hope their success will continue with a victory in that match.

[Kagdazka and Pazhujebu]

"Hello?" gruffly asked Bhašal. He was fully in the room, but he still couldn't see anything, the smoke was so thick.

"Who's there?" he heard a woman's voice respond at last. The voice sounded surprised, but hardly hostile... it was passive and gentle.

"May I come in?" Bhašal still couldn't see where the person he was talking to was.

"Please do. What is your name?"

"Bhašal. I'm sorry, perhaps this is a silly question, but where are you? I can't see anything through all this pink smoke."

"Kneel down, Bhašal."

"What?"

"Kneel down."

Of course. Now he felt rather stupid, of course he hadn't been able to see, whoever it was hosting him, she was sitting on the floor below all the smoke. He knelt down and suddenly could see someone, a girl to his left. She was attending some kind of weird hookah, out of which a huge column of acrid pink and violet smoke was billowing. He squatted on the floor next to her.

"I'm looking for Anjana. Are you her?"

"You don't recognize me?"

So it was her. Evidently she knew who he was, but that was not really a surprise, the way Emiliaja had worded it, it sounded like Anjana had been told he was coming.

"You've grown a lot, I think the last time I saw you, you were about eight."

"You look the same, Bhašal. You have the same color to your aura."

"What?"

"The searcher's color. You love looking for people and things, and it is your greatest asset but your greatest weakness as well. You will create mysteries for yourself when they do not exist, because it is part of who you are. Searching. You show the searcher's color."

Now Bhašal was rather lost. He didn't actually want to get into a philosophical discussion with any of the bizarre characters at this "school," he just wanted to find out where his daughter was.

"Look, Anjana. It's lovely to see you again... uh... tell your mother and father I said hello... but I didn't actually come here to have my aura read."

"Of course not. You're too busy searching."

"Y- ... yes. Look, three months ago Emiliaja deserted from the Army and she's been on the run ever since. Have you reconnected with her... she sent me a letter and somewhat suggested that you have."

"I saw her just last week."

"Here? In Mahathu?"

"Certainly," Anjana replied. It was strange, the way she answered questions. She was so calm, passive. Almost vacant. As if she knew his questions before they came out of his mouth. "She trusts me."

"Should she?"

"That's an odd question. Do you trust me, Bhašal?"

"I... sure." He really didn't have time for this, he was thinking about leaving. After all, this was unrelated to the Aghi case. He was wasting time.

"I know you do. So does Emiliaja. I show the secret keeper's color," Anjana smiled vaguely, staring up into the pink cloud above them. "You want to know where she is, then?"

"Yes, I do."

"Are you going to turn her in to the military?"

"I..." Bhašal paused. If he was being honest, the day after she deserted he'd sworn to himself that he'd turn her in, no matter what price she payed. She had betrayed her country. But if he did it, they'd kill her. Over the weeks he'd come around, and wasn't willing to pay the price of his family to the Federation. So he was telling the truth when he responded, "No. I won't."

"Good. Then you will find her in the deep in the blue-leaf jungle. Go to Tashtagol."

This was the most confusing thing Anjana had said yet. Tashtagol was in Kagdazka. There was no jungle in Kagdazka. Anywhere. And what sort of jungle had blue leaves? Never mind in Kagdaz jungles... anywhere in the world.

"What are you talking about?"

"You will find her in the deep in the blue-leaf jungle. Go to Tashtagol." She smiled at him, as if repeating the exact same words was somehow helpful to him.

"Anjana, I don't understand."

"I know you don't."

She stared up at the smoke again; he just stared at her. This was ludicrous. Why had he even opened that damn letter anyway? If Emiliaja really had wanted to reconnect with her family, she would have apologized and shown her face herself. Bhašal bristled arrogantly. This whole thing was below him. He stood up to leave, shrouding the weird girl by the hookah in a cloud of smoke once more.

"Do I remember correctly that you are a police investigator, Bhašal?" he heard her ask.

"Yes."

"May I ask what assignment you are on?"

"N-" Bhašal paused. He was on the brink of responding with an impatient and empathic "no" and telling her off for even daring to ask, but caught himself. She was harmless. The girl, despite being annoying mysterious and ignorantly unhelpful, was unlikely to leak anything he told her to the public, and even if she did, it would be in the form of some idiotic and incomprehensible riddle. He decided to simply tell the truth; if nothing else, it would get him out of this stupid room a few seconds quicker.

"I'm on the trail of Aghi Šigha'uthughu. He was a radio show presenter for a while, but now he's suspected of having a leading role in an illegal gambling ring."

"Interesting. I had a feeling that's who it was. You should talk to Professor Pešnitha."

"Excuse me?"

"Uman Pešnitha. That's his full name. Or, at least, I think it is. The better a secret keeper I become, the worse my memory becomes. Anyway, he's one of my teachers here at the school. You should talk to him. Mr. Šigha'uthughu is one of his good friends. He keeps going on rants in his classes about how the charges against his friend are false."

"Well they aren't false!"

"Oh, Bhašal, I didn't say I agreed with him. But I have seen his secrets... I have seen them. His secrets are poorly hidden. His secret is that he knows where Šigha'uthughu is."

It couldn't be, thought Bhašal. It couldn't be that this insufferable flake of a girl was actually providing him a lead in the case.

"He does?"

"Go speak to the professor. He is an angry man, so you most ask your questions delicately, but I believe he knows the truth."

"Where is he now?"

There was silence. Bhašal couldn't see anything through the cloud of pink smoke; it was starting to burn his eyes. Where was Anjana? And why wasn't she answering him?

"Anjana? Where is he now?"

Still silence. Somehow, despite the idiocy of the whole situation, Bhašal was starting to feel a little freaked out. Why had Anjana's voice ceased? Then he stepped back... how odd... the smoke was changing color all around him, changing to a rancid orange color...

"He is running."

Bhašal almost had a heart attack. Anjana was right in front of him, and though her voice was still vacant and soft, he couldn't see her and she'd scared the daylights out of him.

"He's running, Bhašal. The orange smoke... it means one has discovered that I keep his secret. He knows I have told you."

"What? How?"

"I don't know. But where before I only suspected that his secret was the location of the gambler, now I am sure. I don't know where Professor Pešnitha is going, Bhašal, but he's going there in a hurry."

As ludicrous as this was, somehow Bhašal had a hunch that Anjana was telling him the truth; that this professor did know something about the Aghi case. And if he was fleeing, Bhašal needed to catch him.

"Thank you, Anjana."

He felt his way through the acrid orange mist to the door. When he finally found it, he sprinted down the hallway and out of the building.

Well, our tournament thus far had been all about losing. There has only been three games, but we lost two. Our latest one, however, was completely different. We won our latest game, against one of our Rushmori rivals. Perhaps the biggest sporting team in Rushmore - in football anyway. We played Queer Poco el Mono Ara, who weren't doing too well in the group. But, they are a big challenge for us. We have started our international campaigns, this being our first World Cup. There are always surprises, and we proved that completely right. A game, which was a complete and utter 'giant killing' to their fans. Our group has seven teams, we are now fifth. But we all came away from this happy.

The game finished 3 - 1, which in fact is a tiny bit more than a 'giant killing', it is actually a little bit of a thrashing. And considering the fact that we could of beaten them by a good few more, it shows just how well we played. Theo Wekkler seems to of pulled a masterstroke, by drafting Miroslav Filo into the side. The striker, who plays for Olympique de Fontvielle in Valladares. Has a brilliant strike rate, and has combined perfectly with both Laze v Tuhinju and Radoslaw Famoc, scored two against QPeMA as they are known around Rushmore. The fact that we have won this game also means that we could actually qualify, it is an outside chance. But, if we win all of our next three games, we would have twelve points, which probably wouldn't be a good enough amount of points to qualify. But we could, with a little bit of luck.

Miroslav Filo, scored the first of the game. Laze v Tuhinju, ran from the halfway line down the channel, to the byline. It was a great run, but he had no support whatsoever, and had to go it alone. He ran past Le Paglia, who had been out of position, running up the wing to counter-attack. v Tuhinju now only had the goalkeeper to beat, but Filo ran into the middle, so Laze v Tuhinju squared it across the box. And Miroslav Filo calmly slid it into the net, which was now unguarded as the goalkeeper, Aruna Traore had ran across to v Tuhinju.

The second goal, was another Mytanar one. With Filo getting his second from a free-kick which he won. He had been lobbed the ball, and was through on goal, but right on the edge of the box was fouled by Marco Iaquinta who couldn't match Filo's pace, the Pocoan making his international debut at 34 in World Cup Qualifying, the older man couldn't match Filo's pace. He got sent off for the foul. And three players argued over who would take the free-kick, Bang, Hjik and Filo. Miroslav Filo won out, with him winning the free-kick. He curled it around the wall and into the top corner. After, he ran to the corner of the ground, where the Mytanar fans were going wild, being held back by Sarzonian police (who had been aware of the recent hooliganism in the Mytanar leagues). He celebrated with the fans as it looked like we would actually win the game.

The Pocoan answer came in the second-half, with a goal from Gilbert Batistuta. Our defence struggling against the Ridgemont striker. This made the final few minutes of our game extremely nervy. But an answer came from Lenart Goricag, as he got his third international goal. Similiar to one of his from World Cup Qualifying. Another volley from the edge of the box, after the ball was headed out from a corner. This time, he just lashed it with the outside of his foot into the top corner of the net. Aruna Traore's flailing arms not able to stop the goal. The goal made sure that we would get the result, and incurred a minor pitch invasion from a couple of the fans that managed to jump over the barriers and got past the police that were trying to stop them. The fans hugged Goricag and the rest of the team.

We still have to play Cosumar. Then we have a bye game, so a good rest for some of our players. We then play Hanox, where we expect nothing less than a win. And anything else would be a failure. In our final group game, we play Jesselton. Who we played in the group stage, and know plenty about. A win against them would be brilliant, and could propel us onto a good outcome. Finishing third or fourth in this group would be brilliant after a bad start. But I cannot seeing us qualify for the knock-out rounds.

The Wolves could actually do well here, if we continue to play as we did today. If we can beat Cosumar, we will have almost resurrected our chances...

This match was long and seemed like each team would go home with 1 point each. That is until a massive defensive mistake in the 91st minute cost Jesselton the match. A late corner kick for Jesselton was given by the ref, highly protested by PAP players, but they went along with it. The kick came in straight in the center and Roderick ran up and punched it out, with Figo receiving it. Immediately Figo began to sprint full speed, dodging the two defenders and the goalkeeper. The goalkeeper ran up to Figo, trying to scare him off, but Figo just shot a powerful shot in the net. Steven Sanchez jumped up when he saw the ball meet the net. Figo took his cleat off and kissed it while Gonzalez and others ran up to him and hugged him. This is Figo's 3rd goal in the CoH.
PAP remains first in the group and looks to stay there.

In other news, a campaign in Ex New York is starting, called, "Make Us Invincible."
The purpose of this campaign is to make PAP invincible at home, at it doesn't matter how. Hooliganism has been condemned by the government and hooligans have been told to knock it off. But it seems that this campaign might be successful, with about 250,000 people signing on to this campaign in the first few days.
This makes me feel sorry for the visiting team.

"It's hard," he finally said. "Seeing all the matches, knowing how much Kenil and Jason would have loved to be involved."
"It's been hard for us to see you so upset," said Francesco.

"And I'm not too happy myself," muttered Hope. Aaron looked at her; "It's just our manager, di Corradi. Everyone has this idea that he's a saviour, leading us poor simple footballers through tournament after tournament, but the truth is that he's a lazy, arrogant, sexist, ignorant man. He won't even play us, and won't say why!" She lowered her tone and swore. Francesco chipped in; "Yeah, he's just ignoring the fact that I've been playing brilliantly in the Osarian league, and he won't give Mario the chance he deserves!"

The four of them sat their, each contemplating their problems. Finally Aaron spoke; "Maybe we should go out to forget our problems," he said. Hope looked around, "Aaron, we are out."
"Out to forget our problems," he repeated. "Come on, let's go out tomorrow night, go out properly."
"I dunno Aaron," said Hope. "I mean, di Corradi doesn't like us at the best of times, what will he do if we go out and get smashed?" Aaron scoffed.
"Forget him. I need to take my mind off things, you need to take your mind off things, we all need to take our mind off things, let's go out."
Francesco grimaced. "Fine, for you, but only a few beers,"
"Only a few," replied Aaron with a smile; "a few too many."

Handball from Halpberg gives Churchma win.

Ryanne Halpberg had missed the last 1 1/2 games due to security issues. It showed on the pitch tonight, as a critical handball in the 34th minute gave Churchma a 1-0 lead. As is the Churchmanian wont, once they had the lead, they shifted int a defensive mode that stiffled the Qazoxian attack. Halpberg showed signs of rustiness earlier when in the 4th minute she allowed a Churchmanian attacker go right by her and only a Thomas Evans save prevented the goal. Over the cource of the 63 minutes she played, she was out of position on at least 4 balls, misplayed 2 others and missed finding a relatively open Tanya Calvin in the 50th minute.

Head Coach Thomas Holtz has this to say after the match:

You''ll probablly write that I should have started Pamela (Tulow), but Ryanne had earned her starters spot. She wasn't injured, there was no safety issues, and she didn't miss the final walkthrough. So she started. i'm not going to play the what if game. Maybe we would have won with Pamela starting, maybe we would have lost by more is she did. There's no way of knowing in advance which outcome would have happened. Ryanne had a bad game. It happens to everybody. That it happened after missing the better part of 2 games makes it seem more of big deal than it really is. Unless circumstances change, she is still in the staring lineup for Swartaz.

Swartaz is up next in a must-win for each team if either is to advance to the next round.

Kyle Cartman was just barely conscious of the presence of someone standing near him, when he was grabbed roughly and pulled up to his feet.

"Wha... what?" he stammered out.

"Oh, your fine. I'd forgotten about how fast those nice little nanobots in your system work to repair you. You've only been out 20 minutes. Kinda hard to kill you, rght Kyle?" a man stated.

As Kyle shook off the effects of first being rudely awakened, and second being shot point-blank in the skull with a hollow-point; he turned his head towards the source of the voice and mentally sent an 'I'm fine, enact Plan C in exactly 5 minutes' thought at the twins, whom he hoped weren't affected by his near-death.

"I know why you're here, Kyle," the man stated. "But I'm really stunned as to why Halpberg sent you. You know I got the only strain of Scourge that will work on you. And don't think I won't use it."

"Thomas, I'm just here to correct a mistake." Kyle said.

"Oh, and what mistake would that be?" Thomas Lasko replied.

"Not killing you sooner. And I'd start worrying right about... now." Kyle stated as klaxons began blaring in the lab.

Lasko looked around and was stunned to see 2 unshrouded 'Borg' looking right at him.

"Thomas. The second you shot me, the twins here slipped into the lab and took care of your security and your techs. All they were waiting for was for me to 'wake up'; so they could pin-point you. And the Scourge has been taken care of. Just one last thing." Kyle pulled the gun away from a stunned Lasko and shot him right between the eyes.

'Let's get out of here' he thought at the twins as they started their way back down the mountain and back home before anyone in Sarzonia was the wiser.

After the bomb went on they had to run. The made it to the car and drove off towards wherever they could. They were wanted dead and running was the only thing they could do. They made it to the jungle and they had brought a couple of tents to stay in for a bit. Ben, Harry and Finn were staying one tent while Jarki and Jane would share a tent, for 'reasons'.

The manager was angry, 3-0 to Arda? No this could not be it, this was a joke in all senses of the word. This was unacceptable. A loss acceptable? Maybe. He sat down and watched many an hour of old sitcoms that were now clogging up the channels, how he wanted rid of them.
