SYNOPSIS

FLOX football has been underway now for two months and its easy to see what the big talking points are. Asbury Park, out of nowhere has rocketed into the lead after 7 games. Lead by a Tri-National striker Alphonso Reeves, the Tidal Wave have refined their high octane offensive production into something that has been not seen in years. Reeves and former All-Xanneria striker Toomas Napi have lead a potent offense that saw all but one goal scored by the striker pair. But the real hero of Asbury Park is Sasha Pfealszich. She may not have any goals this year, but her leading and her passing skills have been one of the key reasons Asbury park has been finding itself up top. That isn't the only team looking to burn their way through the Omega Division though. Austin City has the top offense in FLOX, and Allison Burns is again golden boot leader, but an awkward 1-0 loss to a sluggish SC Nortonshaw team has seen the Limitless score 13 points in 7 games a full win behind Asbury Park. On the other side of the spectrum Galaxy SC has struggled. While mostly they've been injury related issues especially with the midfield, the defense is still Elite. Injuries have seen players such as Thibidoux Carnez and Alfonso Jugarro take on a bigger role with the club. If Galaxy ever sees the need for more $$$ you could see these guys on the transfer window soon enough. They could easily start in half of the Esportivan leagues. A point behind shocking Asbury Park, is Capital FC. Capital may not be as shocking as Asbury Park, but they have yet to taste the IFCF like compatriots Bearden and Hawthorne Kickers, but they made the big splash in the off season by signing Zeta Reka and Hugeltoldom striker Arnald Gal. Gal has teamed up with Gil McKenna of the Xannerian National Team and made for a formidable duo in the capital. Another team shockingly low on the charts two months in is Bearden. a perennial contender, they like Galaxy have had some issues with keeping a consistent XI on the field. The defensive backfield of Hanselmann, Grindestaff and Zka have not been together since the second week and through various small ailments have managed to send Bearden to a very mid record of 2-2-3.
Over the next two month the schedule will see some great matchups and key rematches, so hopefully by time week 14 is out we'll have a clearer picture of the Omega Division.

SYNOPSIS

The middle of the schedule can be some of the toughest parts of football for a FLOX team, and no team demonstrated this more than Delano City SC. Injuries to keepers Davide Coffey and Judith Laird left veteran Gamma division keeper Arturo Ghiziani in goal for the Red-Blacks. He struggled mightily in goal for his four game stint and had two games where his team lost by five goals. Delano City has been on a downward trend the last couple seasons despite some great top tier teams int he past, things need to pull up or they could be relegation favorites next season. Speaking of relegation favorites, Hawthorne United has done well to stay afloat. United was supposed to be an Est End FC like darling of doom but the team has been keeping a steady pace with the bottom four and looks like they could pull out of relegation and again stay afloat. They are tied with the sluggish offense of SC Nortonshaw, the miserable Delano City squad we just talked about and ahead of United Marietta FC by two points. In fact United Marietta looks like they've taken the mantle of relegation favorite this year. UMFC has talent, Kenzie Brookwater was a steal and Austin Goforth could play in any top league, but the team as a whole just seems to disappear in large chunks. If they don't become event he slightest bit more consistent with their product on the field then UMFC is back in Beta division. Another team struggling toward the middle of the season is Alexandria City. A talented team with multiple midfield and defenders for the Xannerian NT, the team has just not been consistent enough. They haven't had injury bugs strike them like Kickers and Delano City, but I think maybe a regime change is more in line for that team. Their strategy just feels wonky at times and its hurting them. Asbury Park has slipped so the usual suspects of Austin City and Hawthorne Kickers move in to take the tops spots, what the season holds next, has yet to be seen but we should get a clearer picture of the IFCF qualifiers next time.
