Every person 20 or over is required to go vote. This is made by submitting the vote on a machine and scanning your ID chip tto send it.
At the end of the voting, a computer on a closed network, located two kilometres underground, serviced by robots, processes and tallies the votes, throwing out any double votes or votes from people who are illegible. That is then given to the Grand Auxus and the results are announced. This removes any possibility of voting fraud and rigging.

Elections are legally non-binding in Ayodhyadesha and are only held to elect the Premier, who assists His Majesty in administration of the country.

An electoral collegium is there of 25,000 votes. There are 5 voting groups in the electoral collegium:
1) Chamber of Brahmins- 5000 votes:
This is a chamber of 50 high priests of Ayodhyadesha who are wise and learned men. They are allotted 5000 votes, which translates to 100 votes for every high priest.

2) Council of Ministers- 3000 votes:
This is a Council of 20 Ministers, appointed by His Majesty, to improve the country in their portfolios. They are allotted 3000 votes, which translates to 150 votes for every minister.

3) Governors of Provinces- 4000 votes:
There are total 5 provinces in the country, each with a governor. Two of these five provinces are reserved for princes to show their administrative capabilities. All Governors are appointed by His Majesty. The Governors are allotted a total of 4000 votes, which translates to 800 votes for every Governor.

4) Purohits of Temples- 5000 votes:
This voting group comprises of the purohits or Chief Priests of 5000 temples which receive grants from His Majesty's Government. They are allotted 5000 votes, which translates to 1 vote per chief priest. The Chief Priests are decided by the traditions of their temple.

5) Royal Family- 8000 votes:
The Royal Family is allotted a total of 8000 votes, of which His Majesty the Emperor has 3000 votes, Her Majesty the Empress has 2000 votes, the Crown-Prince has 1000 votes, and the rest votes are equally divided amongst all members of the Royal Family above the age of 10.

This electoral collegium votes to elect a Premier nominee, not a Premier. Individuals who are not a part of any voting group can contest for Premier nominee, either as independents or as a candidate of a political party. The individual who crosses the 50%+1 threshold is elected as the Premier nominee. He is the most likely candidate to be appointed as Premier by His Majesty. However, if His Majesty the Emperor vetoes his appointment, then he cannot become Premier. The most recent occurrence of such an incident was 4 years ago in the year 1185, when Premier nominee Alankananda Sahu, who had won 12,304 votes out of 25,000 votes, crossing the threshold of 50%+1, was not appointed Premier as it was vetoed by His Majesty.

In the event no candidate crosses the 50%+1 threshold, the candidate obtaining the least votes is eliminated with a runoff election till a candidate manages to cross the threshold. This occurred very recently in this year of 1189, just a few days ago, which ultimately resulted in the landslide victory of Premier nominee Sri Haridasa, garnering 20,347 of 25,000 votes, who went on to be appointed as Premier.
Current year: 1191 A.D./1248 V.S.

All Rehuan citizens aged over 21 have the right to vote in triennual legislative elections to determine the make up of Te Whare o Mangai [The House of Representatives].

Tangatarehua uses the Mixed Single Vote (MSV) system to elect MPs.

The nation is divided into 210 "Rohe" [constituencies] and each voter casts a single ballot for a candidate to represent their area.

However, there are also 100 "top-up" seats available for any political party whose candidates collectively gain more than 5% of the nationwide vote, in order to allow some proportionality and to ensure that votes for opposition candidates or third parties by people living in "safe seats" are not wasted.

Elections to the lower chamber of the National Assembly take place every five years. There are 115 Members.

Elections to the upper chamber, the Supreme Council, are every seven years. Candidates in Supreme Council elections are either Supreme Councillors already, or have served as members of the National Assembly. A small number of Supreme Councillors are selected by presidential quota. There are 57 Supreme Councillors.

The presidential election also takes place every seven years. The candidates will already have served as President, Supreme Councillor or National Assembly Member, and will require nomination and sufficient votes (a minimum of five) from the President, Supreme Councillors and National Assembly Members to make the ballot before going to the people. There is, of course, only one President.

All voting systems are first past the post.
