EDIT: If anyone is planning on speaking dwarven, I'd highly suggest wondering why they'd speak a language only the rare tradesmen speaks.

Eccentric and kind, he took her under his wing, and has even allowed her to accompany him on several explorations of Minascenaen and Dwarven ruins - without her father's knowledge or that of the other Rhetors.

She has spent time delving Dwarven ruins, unearthing Elven battlefields, and once got one whole arm chiselled with tattoos while spending a year exploring the northeast and living among a tribe there.

Skills: Historical knowledge - Dio has picked up a range of historical and cultural trivia from her mentor and from her studies
Languages - Dio has studied several languages, some useful, some not. These include:
- Eiselenian - her native tongue
- Classical Minascenaen (or as much as has survived or been reconstructed)

Sneaky - Frequently expeditions with her Rhetor involve sneaking in to places they aren't allowed, and Dio has often found it necessary to disguise herself as a man, leading to her becoming proficient in sneaking around.

Weaknesses: Reckless - Dio is relentlessly curious to the point of putting her own life in danger
Lack of political acumen - she frequently argues with people she shouldn't or is impolite to those she doesn't respect, in spite of their ranking in society in relation to her.
Not a fighter - she can handle a dagger in a pinch but in general would prefer to avoid physical altercations. She's certainly not a frontline fighter.

Equipment: Light leather armour. Several daggers including an ancient elven arakh she uncovered from an former battlefield. A dwarven compass which always points east and slightly north. Several lengths of good rope and a sturdy grappling hook. A bullseye lantern. Several academic books on history, culture, and language (her most valuable possessions). I have very much enjoyed reading through the posts of others so far, and am now definitely invested in the setting and world! I have written a rather long post, and as always, am always happy for constructive criticism- I realise it is more explantory of how the Oathsworn have come to the current situation of being so cut down during their rides, rather than describing a huge amount from Edwyd's perspective, but that shall be built in the next post!

"Now, as I was saying, the conflict between the Minascenaean governor in 156 I.C., who according to the Kyverníticon Avchasítou and writings by Antidonos of Pedaxitus, was either named Acopios or Acadosios-"
"Finyeas, will you shut up?"
The hooded Finyeas quickly shut up, and quietly sulked as his traveling companion, the native mercenary Menhor, stopped and scanned the surrounding woods. After a few moments of silence, Finyeas spoke up, his hood falling to reveal tan skin, short, unkempt black hair and a sad smattering of facial hair. "Menhor, why have we stopped? I get that you find my companionship boring, but surely it is preferable to standing in the middle of the road?"
To answer, Menhor drew his crossbow and shot a tree near the highway, his bright green eyes set in his pale face focused on the bushes under it.
"Whoever's hiding there, you'd best come out. Next one's going into what I think may be your chest."

Bio: Scorpius was born as a second son of Heraklion, a hunter in Eiselene. Scorpius was named after the Scorpius constellation by his mother, who died of fever when he was 2 years old. His father tried his best to raise young Scorpius and his elder brother, Demetrios. Thanks to Demetrios, Heraklion doesn't need to be afraid of losing the young Scorpius. While their father is hunting animals out there, Demetrios teaches and plays with Scorpius, which then makes them closer.

When the time has come, Heraklion takes Demetrios and Scorpius on a hunt and teaches them how to use a bow and dagger. Both Scorpius and Demetrios learned very quickly. Heraklion always told Demetrios and Scorpius to stick together with each other, while he went alone. Demetrios often challenged Scorpius to get the most hunt, and to be the first to hit a target. Things were going as expected, until one day Scorpius was attacked by a wolf. Demetrios killed the wolf on the spot and then took Scorpius to their house.

Heraklion immediately tried to find someone to help Scorpius, and they successfully saved his life. After the attack, Scorpius is scared to go out with his brother and his father, and instead he'll stay near his house, either playing with friends or just thinking about the past and his future. Demetrios and Scorpius' relationship worsened, for they have never spoken with each other since that accident. That is, until Scorpius becomes curious about what surrounds him. He decided to explore the wilderness during the night, carrying a torch, his bow, and his dagger. He saw many beautiful things in the forest during the night. He sometimes sits in the middle of the forest to watch the stars and the fireflies. Before the sun rises, Scorpius returns to his home to have some rest. Little does he know, his father and brother are aware of his absence during the night, but as soon as they found out what happened, they decided to let him enjoy his own time.

Scorpius always spent his nights in the forest, and one day Demetrios decided to follow him there. They have small conversation about their past, joking, and enjoying the night. In the forest, Scorpius also finds a wolf cub, though he also finds a dead wolf near it with an arrow on its head. Scorpius decided to take the wolf cub with him, but Demetrios disagreed with Scorpius. Scorpius convinced his brother to let him take the wolf home, until Demetrios finally allowed him to take the wolf home. As they get back to their house, his father is shocked to find Scorpius carrying a wolf cub with him. When Scorpius asked for his permission, Heraklion thought long about it before he finally allowed Scorpius to take care of the wolf. Scorpius did take care of the wolf cub, even giving him a name: Orion. After a while, Scorpius decided to go out hunting again. This time, he brought Orion with him.

Years passed. Their father passed away at the age of 63 due to natural causes. Demetrios decided to continue what his father had done, while Scorpius decided to go out and learn and explore the world with Orion. They go through different paths, and Scorpius hasn't met Demetrios in three years. During those three years, Scorpius left Eiselene and began his exploration outside the kingdom. He did faced monsters on his way to explore the world, though he did remember about safe and dangerous places around Eiselene, monsters and hostile creatures that could hurt him, and he learned about survival. Due to the increasing danger, Scorpius decided to make himself a light sword out of the steel he bought back in Eiselene. He wasted his three years helping some traders find their routes and exploring the wilderness. From then on, the traders he helped called him "Kynigos."
Skills:
Archery - Scorpius wasted years of his life hunting and three years exploring the wilderness. He used his bow so many times, which was helpful for him to fight hostile creatures or hostile people before they became too close to his position. He also attached a string to his bow, so that whenever he has to drop it and take his sword, it won't fall to the ground.

Melee combat - Though he doesn't fight against sword wielders, Scorpius can still defend himself from hostile creatures whenever they get close enough to his position. He can also use his dagger and his martial ability whenever he accidentally dropped his sword during combat.

Speaking multiple languages - His exploration did teach him some new things, including language. Apart from Eiselenian, he can speak in, Dún Thuaidh, and dwarven language, although he often forgot about some words and he cannot use their accent. Fortunately though he can still understand those 2 languages.

Weaknesses:
Past injury - Scorpius can still remember how he got injured. Even though he has Orion to protect him, his fear of some wild wolves still frightens him and maybe even makes him unconscious (when they get close enough and when Scorpius is exhausted).

Not a negotiator - Scorpius is an explorer and a fighter, with no experience in negotiation

Melee combat - Though he don't fought against sword wielders, Scorpius can still defend himself from hostile creatures whenever they got close enough to his position. He can also use his dagger and his martial ability whenever he accidentally dropped his sword during combat.

Speaking multiple languages - His exploration did teach him some new things, including language. Apart from Eiselenian, he can speak in, Dún Thuaidh, and dwarven language, although he often forgot about some words and he cannot use their accent. Fortunately though he can still understand those 2 languages.

Weaknesses:
Past injury - Scorpius can still remember how he got injured. Even though he has Orion to protect him, his fear to some wild wolves still frighten him, and maybe even make him unconscious (when they got close enough and when Scorpius is exhausted).

Not a negotiator - Scorpius is an explorer and a fighter, with no experience in negotiation

Bio: Willeus was born to an aristocratic family of chamilókrátes in Eiselene, and he has always been an outsider in the city. He has always been more interested in the culture and traditions of the Avhasians than that of the old Aristocheia, and so has been at odds with the korónatorikoí. Despite this, he has always been a loyal subject of King Leoryx and his family, and has served the royal court faithfully. He has also been a vocal supporter of Prince Aden's expedition to Minascenae, and has been one of the few to not be swayed by the protests against it.

Willeus has also always had a strange affinity for the arcane, and despite being forbidden from learning the arcane arts, he has studied them in secret, learning to bend the elements to his will. He has done so with the utmost discretion, for fear of the Kyradímonas, the Golden Guard, discovering his illegal pursuits. This has lead him to be quite paranoid, always looking over his shoulder for anyone watching him.

Willeus has kept this knowledge a secret, knowing that if the korónatorikoí were to find out, they would use him as a tool of their own and try to bring back the old ways of Minascenae. He fears the power that he holds and the consequences of using it, for it often leaves nasty fallout and pollutes the world. Name: Scorpius 'Kynigos' Theodoros
Age: 29
Bio: Scorpius was born as a second son of Heraklion, a hunter in Eiselene. Scorpius was named after the Scorpius constellation by his mother, who died of fever when he was 2 years old. His father tried his best to raise young Scorpius and his elder brother, Demetrios. Thanks to Demetrios, Heraklion doesn't need to be afraid of losing the young Scorpius. While their father is hunting animals out there, Demetrios teaches and plays with Scorpius, which then makes them closer.

When the time has come, Heraklion takes Demetrios and Scorpius on a hunt and teaches them how to use a bow and dagger. Both Scorpius and Demetrios learned very quickly. Heraklion always told Demetrios and Scorpius to stick together with each other, while he went alone. Demetrios often challenged Scorpius to get the most hunt, and to be the first to hit a target. Things were going as expected, until one day Scorpius was attacked by a wolf. Demetrios killed the wolf on the spot and then took Scorpius to their house.

Heraklion immediately tried to find someone to help Scorpius, and they successfully saved his life. After the attack, Scorpius is scared to go out with his brother and his father, and instead he'll stay near his house, either playing with friends or just thinking about the past and his future. Demetrios and Scorpius' relationship worsened, for they have never spoken with each other since that accident. That is, until Scorpius becomes curious about what surrounds him. He decided to explore the wilderness during the night, carrying a torch, his bow, and his dagger. He saw many beautiful things in the forest during the night. He sometimes sits in the middle of the forest to watch the stars and the fireflies. Before the sun rises, Scorpius returns to his home to have some rest. Little does he know, his father and brother are aware of his absence during the night, but as soon as they found out what happened, they decided to let him enjoy his own time.

Scorpius always spent his nights in the forest, and one day Demetrios decided to follow him there. They have small conversation about their past, joking, and enjoying the night. In the forest, Scorpius also finds a wolf cub, though he also finds a dead wolf near it with an arrow on its head. Scorpius decided to take the wolf cub with him, but Demetrios disagreed with Scorpius. Scorpius convinced his brother to let him take the wolf home, until Demetrios finally allowed him to take the wolf home. As they get back to their house, his father is shocked to find Scorpius carrying a wolf cub with him. When Scorpius asked for his permission, Heraklion thought long about it before he finally allowed Scorpius to take care of the wolf. Scorpius did take care of the wolf cub, even giving him a name: Orion. After a while, Scorpius decided to go out hunting again. This time, he brought Orion with him.

Years passed. Their father passed away at the age of 63 due to natural causes. Demetrios decided to continue what his father had done, while Scorpius decided to go out and learn and explore the world with Orion. They go through different paths, and Scorpius hasn't met Demetrios in three years. During those three years, Scorpius left Eiselene and began his exploration outside the kingdom. He did faced monsters on his way to explore the world, though he did remember about safe and dangerous places around Eiselene, monsters and hostile creatures that could hurt him, and he learned about survival. Due to the increasing danger, Scorpius decided to make himself a light sword out of the steel he bought back in Eiselene. He wasted his three years helping some traders find their routes and exploring the wilderness. From then on, the traders he helped called him "Kynigos."
