I'm more than happy to explore this concept. What do you have in mind for this? I guess it boils down to how much stuff the major Earth megacorps can bring to extrasolar systems via jump drives.
Foremost, you won’t have to worry about competition as an extrasolar for quite some time. Everyone is going to need to tech up a bit before they can do more than move a few scientists or envoys between solar systems - right now Earth is still struggling to return to the state compared to our own time IRL, as both corporations and countries have been rather preoccupied with the degrading state of the planet and continued natural and manmade disasters.
Let’s see. As for Diarcesia, I think the only major changes we’d have to make to your backstory are origin and scale. Convergent evolution with Earthborn humans isn’t -super- probable, so the easiest solution there is the same origin as other extrasolars: a lost sleeper colony ship. The scale, also, relatively simple fix. Instead of a globe-spanning civilization with colonies on other habitable worlds, Diarcesia’s holdings would be scaled back to one largely populated region of their homeworld, as they labor to tame and survive on the less-than-amicable biosphere their ancestors discovered.
