The Malicious overthrow of the power hungry monarchs

Yesterday, assassins from the Brotherhood of Malice stumbled upon two inactive cesspools of regions, both ruled by a monarch that had not left their throne in over 4 years. To scratch their bona fide itch of bringing activity to dying regions every update, the untethered group of assassins led a storm against the greedy delegates to end their respective reigns. Both charges came with very little adversity, despite the defender opposition chasing the Brotherhood's allies throughout update.

As they were departing, the assassins heard the faint cheers of the liberated nations.

"Huzzah, huzzah! The Brotherhood of Malice has come! We have been saved by the true liberators of the world!"

The night was calm and quiet as a lone figure carefully walked towards the Sanctuary's backdoor. The figure knocked 4 times on the hard wooden door and waited. The door opened, and he entered the dark room beyond. He stood in the center of the room silently for a few seconds before taking off his hood.

"Ah, there you are", said a voice of a man. "You're Ravall the Initiate, correct? We have been waiting for your arrival. Ben is waiting for you in the other room".

A door on the far end of the dark room slowly creaked open, light shone from inside it. Ravall quickly walked towards it knowing well there were brother assassins of the Brotherhood waiting for his arrival. Entering the door he saw three Assassins that looked very much alike to him, all sitting in chairs facing each other with their hands folded. One of them waved at him while another one raised his hand. They both smiled and nodded.

"Welcome, Initiate Ravall", said the first Assassin, Qekitor, while walking towards him. "We are so glad you've finally decided to join us."

Ravall bowed his head respectfully. "Thank you, brother Qekitor. I'm happy to be here."

"Greetings Initiate, I am Klaus. But you may call me Brother if that is what you want", the second Assassin, Klaus, interjected.

"It will be my honor to call you as such Klaus", Ravall bowed his head one more time. "I shall see to it that I shall earn my cloak and daggers to get the honor of being called a Brother of the Brotherhood"

Qekitor then turned around and called out loudly: "Gob! Come in!"

After a short moment, the door behind Ravall opened again, and a large man came inside carrying a tray with two glasses of red wine and some bread slices on it. He placed the tray on the table in front of the three Assassins and left without saying a word. As the two Assassins ate, Ben kept looking at the moon through a nearby window.

"The moon is shining brightly tonight...", spoke Ben as he stood up and sheathed both his daggers. "Ready yourselves brothers. Saddle your horses. Sharpen your dagger. For tonight we raid the realms once more."

Qekitor and Klaus finished eating and quickly went to the stables to saddle up their horses. Ravall followed closely as Ben proceeded to go towards the front of the group with his mount. He looked at Ravall.

"Take heart Initiate. Do not falter in our endeavor. Soon you shall join our ranks", Ben smiled and looked towards the whole group, "Remember Brothers! The strong taketh away and the weak giveth! Huzzah"

They rode from the Sanctuary, taking the road that led east towards the defenseless regions of NationStates. The moonlight shined upon the green grass and the white clouds in the sky, casting a beautiful sight to behold. However, the skies were soon filled with bellowing smoke and screams of terror as the Assassins struck the defenseless lands of countless natives and set fire to everything on their path.

"Let them burn!" Ben yelled joyfully. "All those who don't follow the creed of the Brotherhood shall suffer by our hands! Huzzah!"

Ben rode his horse faster than ever, his face lit up with excitement as he never had before. He felt like an avenging angel, ready to take down anyone that dared oppose him or his fellow Assassins. One after another regions fell to their raids, native inhabitants bowed and cowered in submission, and the Brotherhood's banners were unfurled wherever the blades of the Assassins fell upon.

As the night slowly slipped away to dawn, the Assassins headed back to the Sanctuary. Qekitor and Klaus, tired and sleepy, headed to their quarters while Ravall led the horses back into the stable. Ben approached Ravall.

"You did well Initiate. I shall make sure that your deeds tonight shall reach the Night Father and the Vampire King.", Ben spoke to Ravall. "I shall hope you will join us in our next raid. You will find yourself amongst friends. And remember, if you feel like you need help, do not hesitate to come to us."

Ravall bowed his head once more "Thank you, Brother Ben. I shall always remember this night. Thank you for helping me to become a Brother of the Brotherhood."

Ben nodded approvingly and turned around to leave. With a quick glance at Ravall, he said: "Goodnight, Initiate".
Ravall watched Ben walk away, he went back to tying the horses, he smiled. This was the beginning of something great for him, he thought. He was a step closer to becoming an Assassin now.

Last Time On Malice: Land of the Sakura Blossom:

Many openings and closing of eyes later, The Ever-Wanderer and his entire motley crew of imps, assassins, pilots, hawks, knights, and mummies had broken through The Final Barrier and defeated the Raid Boss Otaku Stratus. Or so they thought. For he had fallen, but he was not gone yet...TO BE CONTINUED

One upbeat musical interlude spoiling half the season with action shots late...

It had taken two, long, months for the group to actually corner Otaku Stratus. In fact, if you'd divided up a the events that happened into convenient segments, there would have been 10th of them so far. After an impressive action sequence and some praise-worthy animation effects, Otaku was defeated, and the party began to settle into a land made safe and clear of all threats. It was really quite picturesque, full of pleasantly laughing citizens, teatime, and fairies.

One day, at what would be the 15/24th's of the way through a 12th convenient segment, the party was taking their carriage over to the next town to do some shopping for the upcoming fox festival, when suddenly, the wagon wheel broke. As they were crossing some steam train track. And what do you know, an oddly quiet steam train just happened to be barreling full speed at the crossing....



...and the party found themselves suddenly in a new location once more! There were cars, and glass buildings, and asphalt roads as far as the eye could see. The Ever-Wanderer was not amused.

"Night Father, Vampire King, and [violet], are we back in fucking regular Japan again?"

And so it looked. Having completed their isekai adventure, the party encountered Truck-kun's cousin Train-kun, and was sent off back to Japan...or were they? Is this their Japan, or another, alternate Japan? What new adventurers will our heroes have? Will the festival still happen? Why is the camera panning to an emblem that reads "Welcome to the Alstroemerian Commonwealths?"

We are sad to see our Outside World Manager, the wonderful Zeorus resign. Zey had served as the OWM since the inception of the Brotherhood and zey has done some amazing work in building up our wonderful relationships with all our friends.

We are also happy to announce that the new Outside World Manager is… drumroll Scottiesland! (me!) I’d like to thank my mom, my wonderful manager, my dog’s best friend’s owner’s cat’s groomer’s cousin – Toni. CULTURAL UPDATE



Raiding is everything, of course, but it isn’t actually everything we do. Alarming, I know. I’d like to take the time to discuss some of the other things we have going on around the Brotherhood. All of these things are open to anyone who’d like to participate- you just need to be on our server, and to keep an eye out for announcements as they come.

Firstly, we have two different minecraft servers going. We have one of those angry heavily modded servers, where you can attempt anything from dark magic to nuclear fusion, depending on what flavor of headache you’d like to experience today. If headaches aren’t your jam, we have a vanilla server (1.18.2) going as well, where you can still farm vegetables, build houses and be viciously attacked by endermen for making eye contact with them.

Secondly, we’ve had some fairly extensive board game nights going. Candidates so far have included Catan and Secret Hitler. We’re also organizing full games of Diplomacy, in case 2014 was your vibe. Venico has a standing invitation up for anyone who wants to get boomed at Connect Four, and in the near future we’re also planning to run trivia nights, poker nights and perhaps a little smidge of mafia.

INTERVIEW WITH SENIOR ASSASSIN TRIUNE

Taskmaster Scottie sat down with Senior Assassin Triune for an interview on his time in malice and NS as a whole:

Scottie - What are your earliest and fondest memories of Malice?

Mediocrates - My earliest memory of Malice is actually from before I joined the Brotherhood. I had joined Balder's army, looking for ways to help out as a noob in the region and game as a whole.
I had such a great time, that I decided to join up, initially for training, and then quickly decided to remain, since the community was quite the vibe

Scottie - So roughly when was it that you first joined?

Mediocrates - My memory is awfully foggy. Either the tail end of 2013, or early 2014

Scottie - Alright, so what has been your favorite operation - or if you don't have a favorite one that you always remember and sticks out to you?

Mediocrates - Probably that first Stabby raid. Obviously I was still a youngling who could barely properly jump, but it was thrilling watching everything come together. It's where I really found my love of R/D, and ofc where I began branching out in NS, discovering what would become the most supportive community I ever belonged to.
Back then, I was extremely shy, even online. So that was the first moment I ever really broke out of my shell

Scottie - Anything in particular you want to highlight from that operation?

Mediocrates - I'm gonna be honest, I barely remember anything about the operation itself lol. I couldn't tell you how it was different to any other operation. Just that it's the first one I have any solid memory of jumping
And ofc hunkering down, and watching as everything unfolded in the world of Gameplay

Scottie - Nice nice
When did you leave NS? Have you taken a lot of long breaks from the game?

Mediocrates - Only the one break, although admittedly from late 2018-2020 I stopped doing much of anything at all. I was pretty much just going through the motions and chatting, before even that became too much of a drain, and I left

Scottie - So outside of Malice what were you up to? Were you there for OFO?

Mediocrates - Yup, I was a piler there, helping secure the fledgling government
Back then, Balder was my home, and my foremost obligation. Although I should stress I was always a bit of a lightweight compared to the big players

Scottie - Which government was Balder under at the time?

Mediocrates - The same one it is now, albeit with a different Head of State. I was there for the adoption of the new constitution and the formation of the split executive system, and did some (small) clerical work on said constitution.

Scottie - Nice. Okay so what brought you back into NS?

Mediocrates - Koth messaged me out of the blue back in January. He told me Venico was back in the game, and they were starting BoM back up. I clicked the invite before he could say anything else lol

Scottie - What are some things you'd like to see in NSGP as a whole and what are some things you'd like to see in BoM/raiderdom in the future?

Mediocrates - Well, I've come to the unfortunate conclusion that NSGP just isn't for me, so there really isn't anything I can say about changing it. I don't actually have a problem with how cutthroat it is; after all, it is a political sim
that being said, I just wish people would chill a little bit. it seems like everyone immediately jumps to the most uncharitable takes possible for everyone involved. I guess I think wars can be conducted more civilly
as far as BoM and raiderdom as a whole, well, I'm best suited as a soldier, so I don't really concern myself too much with the higher mechanisms. Until F/D drops, I don't see any harm in continuing on our current path; networking with our fellow raiders, taking in new recruits, and of course, raiding
I trust in our leadership to continue to do all these things, and hopefully launch some more gameshaking operations

Scottie - This question from Venico: why are the brewers slumping?

Mediocrates - Because our owner is allergic to success.

Scottie - Thanks, anything else you want to add or have included?

Mediocrates - My biggest regret in this game is not contributing more to BoM back when they needed me back in the day. I think I would have been much happier had I given up my misplaced dreams of a political career and focused on raiding.
BoM certainly gets some bad publicity these days, but they really have been the most supportive and welcoming community I've been a part of.
I hope that despite all the declarations people make about us fizzing out by next year, we remain together in some capacity, no matter grim the odds are
even if that means becoming little more than a minecraft server for a spell
