Banija Women's Volleyball

There are two professional women's volleyball leagues in Banija. Due to legal fights with one another, teams do not compete across leagues as both claim top status. Each league sends their champion to the VCL. The multiple league thing is not uncommon in Banijan sport, as famously, Banija has 3 national men's basketball leagues who claim DI status.

The first league is the Banija Elite Volleyball League, which is located within the Moravica and Kitara Regions, all on the West Coast. This league is widely considered the stronger of the two leagues. The league consists of 8 teams from the Moravica Region, and 4 from the Kitara Region. This league consists of a strict quadruple round robin- each team plays each other 4 times(twice home, twice away) for a total of 44 games. There are no playoffs- the league champion simply is the team that leads at the end of the season.

Team Locations
Herzegovina Phoenix- Connected with the S-FPL club of the same name. Located in Vdizi, Moravica, just south of Herzegovina City.
North Herzegovina City Rams- located in the northern portion of Herzegovina City, Moravica.
West Beach Gorillas- located in the western portion of Herzegovina City, Moravica.
Iziarad Skyhawks- located in Iziarad, Moravica, a suburb of Istria.
Wakiso Grizzlies- located in Wakiso District, Istria, Moravica..
Rukunbi Dragons- located in Rukunbi, Istria, Moravica.
South Istria Hawks- located in Downtown Istria, Moravica.
Slobochia Raiders- Located in Slobochia, Moravica.
Kitara Athletic Association- Same club as the former IFCF Champions League winners in the S-FPL. Located in Sisonke, Kitara.
Busembe Terriers- Located in Busembe, Kitara.
Kitara Athletic Society- Same club as the team in Banija's regional soccer leagues. Located in Kiala, Kitara.
Sisonke Pistons- Located in Sisonke, Kitara.

The BEVL is a quadruple round robin, and there is a purity in that. "One true champion"- no divisions, no conferences, no playoffs- everybody plays everybody an equal amount of times. Last season, that led to an unprecedented amount of parity within the league. Half the league were within three games of the league champions, who earned 'only' 81 points, after going 27-17 throughout the season. That led to a strong belief that there would continue to be a lot of parity in this division, and you wouldn't see runaway champions.

But that is the exact opposite of what happened. Huge pressure on both sides of the table- with exactly half the league equaling or beating the 81 point total that the Pistons had to win last year's BEVL. And two teams, of course, even breaking the 100 point barrier. How much space was there even in the mid-table? 21 points separated 6th place South Istria and 7th place Rukunbi. Just remember, last season, the first and last place teams in this league were separated by 39 points, in a league where truly, anybody could beat anybody. This year? 54 points separate first and seventh place. 102 points separate the top and bottom of this table.

So the solid teams got better, and the worse teams got wayyy worse. What happened? Led by the Raiders going 38-6, there was a bunch of strong play at the top. Look at the Raiders season, specifically. They had one of the more impressive campaigns that we have seen in recent years. Instead of a close, heart throbbing title race, the Raiders absolutely went for it, going wire-to-wire as the league's best team. They started the season with a 12 game winning streak, and simply never looked back. Look at the intervals. From Matchday 1, they were either tied at the top of the table, or in sole possesion of first place, all 44 games of the season. They started 12-0, before finally falling to the Kitara Athletic Society on Matchday 13. They followed that loss up with another 10 match winning streak, to get to 22-1. When, at the halfway point, you've won 22 of 23, and the next place team in the league is already four games behind you, you basically have the title wrapped up.

By Matchday 30, they had reached the amount of points required to win the league last season, with 81, as they sat at 27-3. While they could not maintain their 22 out of 23 pace for an entire season, it didn't matter much. They were still strong enough to have one of the best finishes in the league as well. 16-5 over your last 21 is not a bad record either, right? Best record in both halves of the season. The Raiders were simply wining far too many games for the Pistons to have a legitimate chance to try and catch them from behind. They were utterly dominant in every fashion, and therefore, were well-deserved champions.

The second league, for sponsorship reasons, is known as the Orange Sky Volleyball Championships, which consists of 16 teams from elsewhere across the country, outside of the Moravica and Kitara Regions. They are divided into two 8 team conferences. Each conference plays a quadruple round robin. The top two teams in each conference make the playoffs, as well as the next two best teams overall, for 6 total playoff participants. They are sponsored, of course, by Banija's major national airline, Orange Sky.

In the playoff round, the six teams are grouped together for a double round robin(10 games). The top two at the end of the double round robin will advance to the Orange Sky Final Series, which is a best of 5 series. There are two twists in this final round, however. Both conference champions are given a 3 point bonus for this series for the final table. And furthermore, a conference championship is the first tiebreaker.

Orange Sky Volley Championship- Playoff Round

2 Umbazi Metropolitan SC 10 7 3 25 16 +9 21 - Advance to the Orange Sky Final Series.
3 Hoima Archangels 10 5 5 22 20 +2 18 - 3 points added to earned point total of 15. Conference Championship serves as the tiebreaker over the Busukuma Kraken.
4 Busukuma Kraken 10 6 4 20 19 +1 18
5 Askatasuna Anacondas 10 3 7 16 23 −7 9
6 Isipongo White Leopoards 10 3 7 14 22 −8 9

Duntho Sporting Club have shown what a huge advantage it is to win your conference. An extra win and an extra 3 points, to move from third in the table to top of it? Talk about emphasizing the impact of the regular season. It was, as many would expect, an extremely competitive round, with the best team finishing with 7 wins from 10, and the worst with 3. Which means, all credit should be given to Umbazi Metropolitan Sporting Club. Having to finish at least one game, potentially two games, ahead of at least one of the conference champions in this 10 match round is no easy feat. And yet, that is exactly what they did. They finished tied at the top of the table in the Southern Conference, but wanted to prove themselves the real best team in the league. They've done so, at least for now, and their 7 wins makes them worthy favorites for the Final Series.

Duntho Sporting Club, of course, were fortunate themselves. Tied with the Kraken based on wins, their conference championship vaulted them to new heights. The Southern Conference battle between two teams who were level at 57 points during regular season play, will be the defining series for this league- a 3 game set between Duntho and Umbazi Sporting Clubs to see who will triumph, and go to the VCL. Which team will advance?

Orange Sky Final Series(Best of 5)- Duntho Sporting Club v. Umbazi Metropolitan Sporting Club
Duntho Sporting Club 25 25 25
Umbazi Metropolitan SC 18 15 23

Duntho Sporting Club 21 25 25 26
Umbazi Metropolitan SC 25 21 16 24

Umbazi Metropolitan SC 25 28 15 21 9
Duntho Sporting Club 17 26 25 25 15 - Duntho Sporting Club win the series with a 3 game sweep, are league Champions

And, although Umbazi Metropolitan Sporting Club were dominant during the final round, Duntho Sporting Club rose to the occasion when it mattered most- the Final Series. The defending champs had their sights set on a second straight league title, and Umbazi Metropolitan Sporting Club were not going to get in their way as Duntho officially declared a stranglehold hold on the league title for the Orange Sky Volleyball Championship. Just look how this series went. The first two games, in Duntho, had a massive home court advantage for Duntho, which they took full advantage of. Loud fans, sellouts of 8,000 in each game, and they rode that crowd energy to victories. It wasn't as if there was a massive gap between the teams in each set- but Duntho knew how to close out sets, and got better as sets went on, while Umbazi simply could not keep up with the defending champs.

That's what allowed Duntho to win in straight sets during Game 1. They fell in Game 2, after losing the first set to visiting Umbazi. Some teams, some weaker teams mentally, may have felt the pressure after that. But Duntho did not- they opened up, what some might call "a can of whoop-ass" on the challengers. They had a close win in the second set, dominated the third set, and in the fourth set, they were able to make the plays necessary to take a commanding 2-0 series lead in this best of 5. And when things went to Buganda, with home court advantage to Umbazi, things did not change. Tight sets between the two. But Duntho simply kept rallying. Never say die, and when it went to the fifth and final set, they were, once again, able to impose their will on the match in route to their second straight league title.

Women's Beach Volleyball
In women's beach volleyball, Banija is fortunate enough to have two pairs of Olympic gold winning teams from the XIV and XV Summer Olympiads.

For the first spot and top seeded Banijan berth to the WBVC, the pair from the Istria Games took on the pair from the Bunjil games, for automatic qualification to the WBVC. This was a best of 3 series, all taking place in Istria.

With three spots available this year, everything changed in how the Olympic Committee would handle qualification. The two gold medal winning volleyball pairs, who, while veterans, are still elite players, would automatically qualify for the Quarterfinals. There would be a series of qualifying tournaments held across the country for the final six spots in Banijan Qualifying, which is where we'll pick up coverage from. With the gold medalists automatically being seeded first and second, and the rest ranked 3-8. These will be single elimination- so the three pairs who win two matches will advance to the WBVCs.

The quarterfinal rounds are best of 3, while the final round is best of 5. All games from the quarterfinals round on are played in Istria.

The oldheads continue to assert their dominance in Banijan beach volleyball, as the semifinals for this tournament functionally acted as direct qualifiers for the country's top two spots to the World Beach Volleyball Championships. Yobachukwu Jideofor & Halim Belonwu have made plenty of noise about how they felt they were arbitrarily seeded #2, and should have been the country's top seed, due to their bronze medal finish at the WBVCs. And they, as the 2 seed, have proven their point thoroughly. They are the only pair of women who have not yet lost a set here at the automatic qualifiers, and they have won all 8 sets since the quarterfinal round commenced. The Olympic gold medalists have clinched both a berth in the national championship, and then have also clinched a spot at the WBVCs for the second year in a row.

Banija's other gold-winning pair, although not quite as dominant, have clinched the second of three spots. It is of no surprise that they are here- and the two pairs of women expect to continue to dominate beach volleyball in this country for as long as they seemingly want to. Joma Badijye & Kunda Kama are every bit as dominant as their other counterparts, as although they've dropped some sets, they are still sweeping series nad not even allowing them to go into a decisive, winner-take-all, third game.

With the expansion of the WBVCs for an extra spot, that allows some new blood a chance on the world stage. And that third place set, of course, will act as a WBVC qualifier. Which pair of young Banijan women will represent the country at the WBVCs, alongside the sport's oldheads? We'll find out soon enough.

Banija (BNJ) qualifiers
VCL: Slobochia Raiders, Duntho Sporting Club
WorldLeague: Banija
WBVC: Yobachukwu Jideofor/Halim Belonwu, Joma Badijye/Kunda Kama, Youdit Brehane/Selam Bekele

(Note: For seeding purposes, The Pistons should be considered the 'first' seed, and Duntho Sporting Club should be considered the 'second' seed).

Banija (BNJ) final site bids

VCL: Jinja City Indoor Stadium(cap. 13,000)

Banija's 3rd largest city, Jinja City, which also sit as the largest non-coastal city in the country, are bidding to bring the Volleyball Champions League into the city for a third time. The city has hosted all sorts of major events, as it has basically hosted games in every single sporting tournament the country has ever hosted- from the World Cup, to the World Bowl, to the IBCs and the World Baseball Classic, and far beyond that. The Indoor Stadium is an older building, but as the city gets ready to replace it, they want the historic, 90 year old building to go out with a bang- a great way to memorialize an important piece of the city's history would be for the stadium to host an international sporting event.

Of course, despite it's age, it is still an excellent facility- and the city is known for having some of the wildest nightlife within the country, which will make it an especially appealing place for young travelers, even if it isn't traditionally known as a super tourist town.

Beach Volleyball: Sisonke Beach Stadium- capacity 8,000

The Olympic Committee is bidding to bring elite, high-level international beach volleyball into the country for the first time since the XIV Summer Olympiad. But they are branching out from old Olympic venues, trying to popularize the sport in more areas of the country. Therefore, the growing city of Sisonke features at the center of this year's bid. The beach front has recently been restored with donation from the Kitara Athletic Association, which are the city's primary sporting club(with professional soccer, gridiron, lacrosse, and volleyball teams, just to name a few). The brand new beach will be great for hosting visitors, and while Sisonke has hosted events at major tournaments, like the AOCAFs, it will be the first major standalone event hosted by the Kitaran city.

Bollonischian Volleyball League - Season 3

Bollonich’s regional positioning makes it perfect for developing a rich volleyball culture. It is a very well noted fact that Rushmore is the dominant force in the world of volleyball as has often been the case in the international stage at the Volleyball World Expo and IVF WorldLeague but also on the domestic stage in the Volleyball Champions League. Bollonich too has played a role in this dominance, especially in the Champions’ League and the WorldLeague along with regional rivals Mytanija. These successes in the domestic front coupled with the success in the WorldLeague had largely fuelled the growing popularity of volleyball and also the increased investments. That however was no longer going to be enough for the nation, as we had been struggling in the Volleyball World Expo, the pinnacle of international volleyball, for some time now. That is when the Federation made an increasingly brave decision of turning to the local divisions focused on youth development for the upcoming generations of Bollonischian volleyball talents to incorporate into the national team setup. This decision made massive dividend at the latest Volleyball World Expo as the team was massively successful making it deep into the tournament which allowed us to break into the top 10 rankings in international volleyball. This success on the international stage has naturally presented us with a working formula for now, which has motivated even more investments being poured into the regional leagues with the intention of giving them enough autonomy and support to do their thing but also pump out strong talents each season. The Bollonischian Volleyball League, Bollonich’s premier domestic volleyball competition, stands to directly benefit from increased youth production as it would diversify its player base and also give it a great opportunity to make some sweet profits if franchises were to acquire some clubs in the regional leagues and sell youth players to foreign clubs. This idea has already struck franchises though, which is why we have seen purchases of clubs Moreens and Gliders by the Karvian Tigers with this being a known phenomenon having occurred across the country. Acquisitions such as these give the franchises complete control over the operation of the clubs hence they control youth development, player sales, administration and anything they could wish for. They also possess the ability to setup some clubs to solely cater to their interests in the sport.
Many a times there comes a season where the transfer window is just a dud with no notable transfers to be noted. Well, this was such a window, however with the exception of some minor shifting of players. This was a disappointing occurrence for the season given the excitement and hype coming into it, to be met with very few major transfers. That was not to stop the rapid process of incorporating the youth in all forms of volleyball systems though as many older players were replaced with prospects from the regional leagues. The last season, we saw the Vreton Bulls establish themselves as the force to be reckoned with in the BVL with their unprecedented strength despite the narrow margin of victory. They have maintained a level of precision and perfection that has been rare to come by for any other franchise. An example of this can be seen in the Karvian Tigers who went from finishing second in a season to finishing fourth being 6 points off first place and missing out on VCL qualification. Vreton Bulls is also the side ranked second in the whole world just under Mytanar rivals Litala ’93. Akusha Rovers were the team after the Karvian Tigers to have challenged the Vreton Bulls and they came very close to defeating them and happened to miss out by a measly point. They had a fairly successful season by making the VCL and establishing themselves on the international stage. The Kings of Fermont finished in 3rd position last season with 33 points, having also had perhaps their best season ever. The Maihar Lions were closely matched with the Tigers with an equal number of wins, losing out on points though due to the margin of their victories which could and did influence a lot. What would complicate things this season is the fact that there is an extra VCL spot up for grabs for the team finishing third. This decision was made by the IVF to give some of the stronger associations the chance to send more teams to the competitions for tougher competition between the very best. This means some of the midfield teams will be hoping to make the jump to the upper spots with the hope of qualifying for the VCL which automatically means more and better revenue.

9 Maihar Warriors 18 4 14 26 46 0.565 1440 1610 0.894 14
10 Lagos Yetis 18 4 14 23 48 0.479 1393 1587 0.878 13

Another season and the same story once again with the Vreton Bulls winning the elusive title once again. The Bulls started the season quite slowly, losing twice in their first five matches having to make up ground on the other sides such as the San Pablo Rockers later in the season. This was a brilliant season for the teams right at the top as the Vreton Bulls went past their last record of 37 points and scored a whooping 43 points this season while winning 14 games. Their closest rivals, Akusha Rovers, won an equal number of games but with only 38 points throughout the season. This is just another example of the insane consistency that the Bulls are able to maintain throughout the season, scoring those vital points and winning vital games. They were on a crazy 10 match winning streak from matchday 8 to matchday 17 before they lost the final match of the season to the San Pablo Rockers which allowed the Rovers to equalise with the Bulls on points. The Rovers also deserve mention for this season as this is the second season in a row where they have competed and challenged the Bulls for the premier title in Bollonischian Volleyball. The Rovers started off their campaign with a disappointing loss to the Frogs which was a poor start for them. However, they immediately bounced back winning their next seven matches to take them to the top of the table before losing to the Yetis at the halfway point of the season and the Frogs taking to first spot. Given the 7th place finish last season for the Frogs, this had been a brilliant beginning to the season for them as they had the potential to snatch one of those VCL spots. The Rovers continued their upward spiral, losing only two games in the second half of the season firmly securing the second place in the league for themselves once again. The San Pablo Rockers bounced back from last season to make the most of this one and that they did. Qualification for the VCL would not have been what they were looking at, at the beginning of the season and achieving that has been a great success for the side. They hung back at that point from 6th position to 3rd position and were the primary beneficiaries of the two horse race at front which intensified the race in the midfield and the battle for the second position. 5 teams in the end of the season finished in striking distance of that third position however the Rockers beat them all with 11 wins out of 18 and 34 points, something the Maihar Lions tied them on. The Rockers finishing third would be a great achievement and a chance to further leapfrog towards the front of the league and become more competitive owning to the increased revenue that they will get from participating in the VCL. The Maihar Lions finished in an extremely close and disappointing fourth position as just a win more could have guaranteed VCL action for them, however they miss out on international competition. The Lions will be looking to bounce back from this next season, however the extent to which they will be successful is still up for debate as this season’s failure would have definitely affected the morale in the side and the belief in the managerial staff after coming so close yet being so far. The Tigers had suffered another major fall in this regard as they racked up a disappointing 5th place finish, something they would have hoped to avoid. However given the current rejuvenation process in the squad, some not so successful seasons is the leeway that needs to be given to the side. Making up the bottom four of the league were the Wizards, the Kings, the Warriors and the Yetis with an underwhelming four wins.
This was yet another brilliant season of the BVL with close matches, tight encounters and an eventual Vreton Bulls victory. Whether the same hierarchal structure is maintained next season or not is just a matter of waiting to find out as we hope that our sides perform at their very best in the VCL and bring it to Bollonich, something we have failed at two occasions in a row now.

Bollonich (BOL) qualifiers
VCL: Vreton Bulls, Akusha Rovers, San Pablo Rockers
WorldLeague: Bollonich
WBVC: Anissa Barr and Florence Howse, Carlie Cooper and Cornelia Jack

Bollonich (BOL) final site bids
WBVC: Vreton Park Beach Volleyball Centre (cap. 8,000)

The Vreton Park Facility is Bollonich's only beach volleyball facility with the ability of housing over 5,000 spectators which is a reminder of the waning popularity of beach volleyball in Bollonich. Governed by the same Volleyball Federation, the sport has often been treated with neglect and disinterest. Something the Federation plans to change by increasing domestic popularity of the sport by hosting a premier beach volleyball tournament with the chance of our very own athletes shining in the tournament.

OOC: Feel free to contact me via Discord or PM me if you have any national teamer or tweener willing to play in the Gatchingerrak Superliga, as I probably won't be scouting as much talent for Superliga as I'd be normally doing so with QOVO.1 league for obvious reasons. If you wish to TG, send it to Quebec and Shingoryeo and not this account, as I tend to check this account infrequently at times. For those who wish to get rough comparison for how I view the league signings, QOVO.1 leagues would be more like Italy and Gatchingerrak Superliga Russia, though GGU certainly doesn't have the size or talent pool or VWE results. lol.

THE GATCHINGERRAK SUPERLIGA 2052-54 SEASON

Gatchingerrak Union of Rushmori nations, shortened as the Gatchingerrak Union, is a cultural and political alliance of four countries of the Quebecois Commonwealth located in mid-southern Rushmore (Norrskie Zasousti, Norrehavn, Gatchinovo and Novopetrograd, with an incoming membership by the Ilyrian Isles). The three kingdoms and the citystate, while independent nations of own, do have the Gatchingerrak Union as a way to establish their common zone, where their main goals are to advance co-operation in military, cultural, economic and energy matters. It shares land border with Vaugania and Norrhem to the west, while bits of the east touch Phoenigetzusta. Combined population of the union are estimated to be around 83 million.

While its trio of nations have always fought with one another for centuries, Gatchingerrak Union is a culturally diverse nation with growing importance outside to that of the Quebecois Commonwealth. Its population is ethnically diverse, with the eastern, Novopetrogradian half of the realms primarily Slavic, while the Western half is divided to primarily Nordic Norrehavn on north and slavic Norrskie Zasousti on the south. Somewhere in middle of the lake, which faces all of the three nations, stands the island that is nowadays known as the citystate of Gatchinovo, the ancient place known for its significance on trades and diplomacy among the Rushmori realms of the Quebecois Commonwealth. It is where the Accord between the 4 states were signed in year 2030 (around the time of WC78), to promise co-prosperity among the rivalling states whose cooperation is needed more than ever. Its economy is a mix of natural resources and heavy manufacturing for it.

A no stranger to international sport, Gatchingerrak Union does have a past history of international football and hockey, where its western realms were represented as Norrehavn. It has hosted a Copa Rushmori and a World Cup of Hockey, and both sports are extremely popular. Unfortunately, the long years of absence from the international sporting circuit does mean that it is expected to be a long way back to relevance for the seven-stars in most sports beyond the Quebecois Commonwealth, even if the individual nation within the Union perform well within the Commonwealth circuit.

Out of those, volleyball is one sport where they may have the strongest following that ties up with their team strength, even if the competitiveness of the international volleyball scene may leave them slightly...underperforming. Volleyball is a very popular sport across Gatchingerrak Union, especially in Novopetrograd, Gatchinovo citystate and Norrskie Zasousti (everybody knows Norrehavn doesn't, even when they have a couple of known opposites over time), and it is one sport where both men and women, as with Quebec, have a fairly large following as well. This is partly due to decades of competitive rivalry between Novopetrograd and Quebec dating back to the 1960s, which remain a marquee match (see: GGU-QUE men's round robin match of the VWE 13), but also due to the northern realms' decline in basketball and to lesser extent basketball.

The Gatchingerrak Superliga, for both men and women, is a highly popular league with remarkable television ratings (better than football league, even though they aim to change it with a possible IFCF membership in near future) and sellout crowd in most arenas. Generally players are paid generously, roughly around $150-600k NSD, and the perks that come with the league more than makes up for extensive travel required during the Vatmarkian winters. The league's foreigner limit (maximum two a year) and the challenging nature of sports administration in country at times (not bad, but just complicated to navigate even for international jurists) usually mean that they'll usually stick to signing a Quebecois or another Commonwealth player (Banija, for one).

Traditionally, it has been a popular place for the Quebecois national team players to move, especially in the old days when the salaries were lower and volleyball wasn't as popular at various points over history (2000s for women, 2010s for men). The times have changed, however, and the rise of Mytanar Top League and the BVL within Rushmore alone, with both them and the QOVO.1 leagues offering more stability on their contracts, it has had harder time attracting Quebecois players of acceptable calibre (usually on the national team or higher). In addition, the teams across the league have started to face financial challenges that make it difficult to maintain domestic players and there is a fear that exodus from the league may occur in future-time.

That said, let's move to some scores and results for now:

International Volleyball Federation Competitions- Cycle VI

Association Codes
BNJ Banija
BOL Bollonich
DAR Darmen
GGU Gatchingerrak Union
KGS Kriegiersien
MYT Mytanija
PCU Pemecutan
QUE Quebec and Shingoryeo
SEF Sevens Federation
SRE Srednjaci
STR StrayaRoos

Procedural Notes
  • All entries were accepted.
  • All the entries that had marked their submission to the World Beach Volleyball Championships (WBVC) are noted and moved into the International Beach Tour (IBT), the successor competition to the WBVC.
  • There are twenty-five entries from eleven nations, with nine of them having participated in the last Volleyball World Expo. While the IVF is not governed under the VWE, the relatively intimate nature that exist between the two competitions would mean that the associations with history in VWE better be given priorities. With that said, it is advised that the entrants continue to sign up consistently to the VWE, to ensure ranking consistencies on both IVF and VWE departments.

Final Site Selection

The International Volleyball Federation have acknowledged the following bids for its competitions, and have made decisions accordingly at its annual congress in its headquarters-Domestic/Anaia-AO divisions in Quebec City:

  • Two bids were received to host this cycle's IVF Volleyball Champions League Superfinal: Esca, Mytanija; and Jinja City, Banija. A vote has been held, with Jinja City Indoor Stadium, Jinja City, Banija, being named the winner.
  • Five bids were initially received to host the first three weeks of WorldLeague competition - Esca, Mytanija; Pemecutan Puri, Pemecutan; Gatchinovo, Gatchingerrak Union, Kingston, Quebec and Shingoryeo; and Circunses, StrayaRoos. After a careful review of application files the bids from Esca, Pemecutan Puri and Gatchinovo were named host cities for this cycle. Ssangye Arena, Ssangye, Quebec and Shingoryeo, was also named the host for the Final Round of the WorldLeague due to lack of applications by the deadline.
  • International Beach Tour (IBT) have received three submissions for the cycle-round tournaments (Palmyra, Rogerton and Kingston), while two submissions from Sisonke, Banija and Vreton, Bollonich; for the hosting rights of the tournament. After a best-of-seven rock-scissor-paper fight between the Bollonischian delegate and the Banijan delegate present, it was decided that Vreton Beach Volleyball Centre, Vreton, Bollonich will host the inaugural IBT Finals, with Sissonke Beach, Banija, hosting the penultimate tournament of the season under the Banijan Open.

IVF WorldLeague VI

Group Stage

The 10-nation group stage were held in three selected venues across three countries - Mytanija, Pemecutan, and Gatchingerrak Union - with each nation hosting three matchdays of competitions. For IC purposes, it is implied that the matches did not necessarily last three days, and that they could be stretched up to six-day period.

IVF WorldLeague VI Final

Mytanija 25 25 23 25
Gatchingerrak Union 8 21 25 19

It was a second straight IVF final appearance for the defending champions, whose golden generation of prospects who had won olympic gold medal in Bunjil just six years ago, are now major pieces of the team. Gatchingerrak Union, on the other hand, saw an unexpected rise in form where they, after barely scraping into the Final Round, had upset their Quebecois rivals on their home soil.

With the all-Rushmori final taking place in middle of northern Anaian heat, it was the experienced Mytanar side who emerged victorious. Perunia Zivic's side started off hot early into the game with an impeccable first set performance, came out with a two-set lead, and never looked back as their young coach, upon the final whistle, were hoisted to the air after achieving the historic feat no team had previously achieved in this competition.

IVF Volleyball Champions League VI Final

Jinja City Indoor Stadium, Jinja City, Banija

OK Rauchnya (MYT) 23 13 20
Vreton Bulls (BOL) 25 25 25

In the past three cycles of domestic volleyball, two teams have emerged as the most consistent of the powerhouse teams that have come to participate in the IVF Champions' League. One was the back-to-back champions of last two editions in Litala '93, and the other was Vreton Bulls. For last two cycles the Bulls, three consecutive champions of the BVL, have come strikingly close within the trophy, making the finals on the VCL 4 and then the semifinals of the VCL 5. Both times they had lost to the eventual champions in Litala '93, which had more or less indicated the team's international success.

Two years after their semifinals run, they made it again, and had progressed all the way to the finals - only to face another Mytanar side in OK Rauchnya. OK Rauchnya, captained by the Mytanija international and three-time world champion Amalja Kolar, had themselves put together a magical campaign of own, first upsetting the Litala '93 of Mira Gushtanova, and then clinched the finals ticket by winning big on home against Slobochia Raiders of Banija. With an exciting finals pitting the lower-seeds who pulled several upsets en route to the final in Jinja City, many were excited to see a possible thriller on line. They were not wrong as the two teams fought valiantly from nail to tooth in the Banijan heartlands. Eventually, however, it was the Vreton Bulls whose third try at the charm of the VCL trophy was won.

Qualification for the IBT Finals

21 pairs out of 24 pairs have at least made the knockout stage of an IBT tournament.

Top 16 pairs qualify for the inaugural edition. The number of qualified pairs will depend in future editions, though preferable numbers will remain along the lines of 4, with 16 likely being considered the optimal number for the time being.

Updated association coëfficients are now available. From this point, we'll stick to a three cycle ranking system with following point allocations.

Anyways, it has also come to my attention that we may have to run another domestic window before proceeding with VWE-15.

This is strictly due to OOC reasons that are there because 1) we are all stretched out and feeling slight burnout from a prolonged NSWC cycle, 2) lots of international tournaments are going on right now, and 3) Summer Olympics will be taking up 3.5 weeks to a month of my time in August. Considering a fairly consistent level of volleyball RPs that have been done in past summer Olympics, a domestic season can also mean that we can decide who goes to Olympics and who to VWE, but also funnel activity into VWE-15 as well. Assuming VWE happens before a likely WC cycle, this probably works, or at least I hope so. As for past VWE entrants, feel free to join as well. Substantial part of VWE/HWC ranks do count when I grade domestics for both HWC and VWE.

So, without ado we have a long deadline:

The entry deadline for the seventh cycle of the International Volleyball Federation (IVF) competitions, will be 15 July 2022, 23:59 EST (Toronto-New York Time).

Entry for International Volleyball Federation - Cycle VII

Please read the sample format carefully, especially for WorldLeague venues. We will be keeping the same format as last time, with a minor adjustment:

  • IVF WorldLeague accepts one national team per nation. Maximum of one puppet national team can be entered.
  • Unlike in past editions, when the WorldLeague competitions were all held in a single location (e.g. VNL 2021), venue submissions for the first group stage will be accepted. Venue submissions, entirely up to the participating nation, will be done under a simplified format, with the entrant just submitting venue, location and capacity (e.g. Ssangye Arena, Ssangye, Quebec and Shingoryeo - Cap: 5,870).

For the IVF Volleyball Champions League, the number of teams allowed is determined according to the association coëfficient ranking, with the following distribution:
  • The top six active associations (Mytanija, Quebec and Shingoryeo, Bollonich, Banija, Gatchingerrak Union and Pemecutan) are entitled to enter three teams to the VCL 7.
  • All other associations may enter up to two clubs. One user will be allowed to enter with a main and a puppet, with latter being declared on the form.
  • As defending champions, Vreton Bulls receives automatic qualification to the group stage. Should Vreton Bulls not qualify, Bollonich will be given a fourth qualification spot.

  • For the IVF International Beach Tour (IBT), three pairs per association, as well as individual Open venues, will be accepted. Maximum of one puppet association can be entered, with 2 pairs allowed for them. Please clearly state your pair in 1-2-3 order for placement purposes.
  • As defending champions, Youdit Brehane/Selam Bekele pair receives automatic qualification to the group stage. Should this pair not qualify for the upcoming edition of VBWC, Banija will be given a fourth pair available for qualification.
  • If Banija does not post a domestic submission for this cycle, Brehane/Bekele pair will be sole entry entered for BNJ. This, a continued precedence from the previous cycle with Ishmael/Luy pair of Hispinas, is also to provide IC continuity.

  • Associations interested to bid for the final site of the next VCL/WorldLeague/IBT shall post their arena bid with a format similar to that of the IFCF, as have stated in the OP. If there are no bids received, then the default venue will remain to be in Ssangye Arena, Ssangye, Quebec and Shingoryeo for VCL/WorldLeague and Doncliffe Beach, Kingston, Quebec and Shingoryeo.

Please use the following format. You are more than welcome to submit a site bid for either WL or IBT as well:

Samplestan (XYZ) qualifiers
master nation of Sampleland (ZYX)
VCL: 1093 Sampleton, Sampleville Tigers, Samplesamplesamplesample VC
WorldLeague: Samplestan - Samplestan City Arena, Samplestan City, Samplestan (Cap: 24,300)
IBT: Sample A/Sample B, Sample C/Sample D, Sample E/Sample F - Samplestan Open, Samplestan Beach, Samplestan City (Capacity: 210)

The Kriegiersien Vollyeball Mega League had the same winner as always, but behind that there were surprises. The Beach All Stars had a disastrous season, ending on 11th place. The VC Scorpion City on the other side had a fantastic season, winning second place and qualification for the international competition.

After a remarkable comeback from the Tyrants, beating out the Trojans 3-0 in a shock upset, they passed Charkara and the Ravens to place 2nd and qualify alongside the Trojans for the VCL. Perhaps, had Charkara not lost two games to Mandoola for absolutely no reason, they'd have qualified instead, but here we are nonetheless. Also, to report, the Lords and Méchants Bomyvlyn are the two teams being promoted in place of the Northeastern Lions and Mandoola VC for next season.

Banija International Volleyball Competitions Round-up
Banija Domestic Volleyball - Season 3

Banija (BNJ) qualifiers
VCL: Slobochia Raiders, Isipongo White Leopards, Wakiso Grizzlies
WorldLeague: Banija
IBT: Nashrat Negasi/Ambai Belendia, Youdit Brehane/Selam Bekele, Sheba Ezrah/Makeda Googombe

(Note: For seeding purposes, The Raiders should be considered the 'first' seed, and the Isipongo White Leopards should be considered the 'second' seed).

Banija (BNJ) final site & other site bids
Worldleague: Kalil F. Vvuna Arena(cap. 13,000). Located in Downtown Kabakono, Kitara, it is the centerpiece of a city that's really trying to get themselves on the international map. A population of 597,000 and growing, they believe that they are enough of a destination to host its first ever neutral site international tournament(in any sport). The arena is named after one of Banija's first ever labor rights leader.

VCL: Hoima Public Arena(cap. 11,500). Bidding to host both tournaments(i.e. the Banijan Open), as well as the Finals, at this location. Hoima is the 5th largest city in Banija, with a population of just over 2.5 million people. There are plenty of hotels, and it is used to hosting large-scale events- serving as a host for events like World Cup and World Bowl matches, just to name a few.

IBT: Aissa Riverfront Stadium- Capacity 5,500. Aissa is a rapidly growing city, now the 6th largest in Banija, with a population of 1.6 million. Hangaza's capitol is located on Banija's eastern border, with Geisenfried, and the eastern edge of the city is the Kuanen River, which helps serve as the internationa border. Aissa is consistently trying to raise its profile, so it submits bids to host both tournaments(similar to the Banijan Open last cycle) or the Finals.
