"You're safe here. This is the Order of Royal Intervention Headquarters. You're quite magical. I trust you're an initiate?" Cortot said friendlily to the young man.

Initiate. The Order of the-- what? Coryn didn't know what the man was talking about, nor who he was. But something... something said he could be trusted. Something said he was trustworthy. "My name is Coryn Williams," he said weakly. "My mother... she was Freedom Williams of Meretica... I don't know what you're talking about, but if you're aware of magic... then I suppose that means that the Healer must be aware of you in some form or fashion... Who are you?"

"We're the Order of Royal Magicians, we're Catholic magicians like you I sense. Who's this healer- what happened? We need to get you to a hospital," he said as he sensed the man was getting worse. It was a flurry of questions, incoherent even. Cortot couldn't be blamed. he was barely healed, after all, and this occurrence was not helping his nerves. Who was the healer? It seemed he knew them; somewhat. It was a common cultist name. No matter, they had bigger problems.

"The Healer... Sinestra..." Surely that name would register... something? Something swelled inside of Coryn, a small feeling of panic. "You've never heard of God's Left Hand?"

"Are you implying God sent a second incarnation? You- never mind. You're delirious I'm sure. Let's get you to Saint Rafael." He was very confused. He had never seen a non-Catholic magician. Even Satanists [i]believed in God, even if they opposed his righteous rules.

"No, that's not-- nevermind." Coryn held his tongue for a moment and then said, "I am a follower of Belecthorian Societal Orthodoxy if you need to know. But what I really think you need to know-- actually, let me show you. May I show you the vision shared with me?"

"Vision? Yes. Let's get you up to a bed." He was not exactly shocked or in disbelief, yet he was scared. He had been traumatized by a vision in his 50s. He was worried for the teen. As they got to St. Rafael Chapel, Cortot allowed Coryn to transcribe his vision.

"There were desecrated graves stretching from Almaton to Sicily with great mounds reaching to the sky that made mass graves. Demonic serpentine creatures tortured the elderly, the entirety of Meretica being razed to the ground as though the End Times were near. Then, something changed in my soul, as though it were branded; and my flesh was branded as well." Coryn held up his fingernails to show the priest exactly what he meant.

"There can't be doubt. You were attacked by Westroe's own. Do you remember what he looked like? Could you tell his name?" He was shocked. He simply couldn't believe a boy of Corryns age could speak after an attack like that. Many of his own magicians, even some apprentice acolytes, would go mad if they had a vision like that. And the mental branding; it was horrific. He'd read about it. It gives the brander influence over their victim. It was dark, dark magic that tore the souls of both people.

"No; merely, I could feel the anger, the hatred, the darkness within him... This Westroe... is he the man that Olpen has been hunting for? The mass murderer?"

"Yes. He's uniquely evil. His very being is one of hate, injustice, and anger. He embodies all that is wrong with man, all that God isn't. He has power undivided over any that have anger, resentment, hate inside them," he paused to think how much he should tell the boy. "If you've been marked by him, Westroe himself, I worry if your soul and body will exist much longer on the corporeal plane."

"I've been worse, I promise you. And I'm quite certain my soul and body will last a very, very long time. But that's something for another time, I think." Coryn merely blinked at the priest for a moment or two before saying, "What, exactly, ought we do about this? And I do mean we because I have a very strong feeling that I'm meant to be here, whether I would like to be or not."

"Sure, sure. We have a plan; though it might already be too late. Follow me. You seem physically good, do you think you're up for some flying?" the acolyte asked. When he said yes, Cortot explained his plans. He, some others, and the boy would fly to the Castle. They would execute a spell on the original 10 Commandments that would release their holy power. "If we're lucky, and if it is time to end the war according to God, then Westroe and his minions will be banished by the Holy Energy, possibly forever." He was no longer optimistic about this plan, after all, Westroe had obliterated the defenses instantly and rose Miami. But it was their only shot- their only shot."

"We- we'll try our hardest." And so they did. As the dozen men and women rode their gleaming white horses, the High Acolyte got ready to cast the spell over the Castle of the Dark One. As they did, a bright white light fell from the tablets. It showered the barrier in gleaming droplets of our divinity. It seemed the barrier seemed to be growing weaker as the droplets simmered off as they touched the barrier. Cortot thought he saw a whole, and he did, but the last droplet was expended moments before that.

They saw Beelzebub and Westroe standing together, flying ever higher as they went eye to eye with the two Christians. As if the horses were only clouds, they dissolved at the demons beckoning. Beelzebub remembered the lad. The demon gave him another vision, mocking him. It was the same vision, but it was clearer now. The mass graves showed the cold, still faces of his friends and peers; his brother's scream in his enflamed house was more shrieking. The desecrated tombs showed the names of his beloved, and the woman under demonic torment was clear; Sinestra.
As they fell, it was clear. The plan didn't work. Westroe nor Corryn had succeeded. Instead, they lost- they lost everything. The other 10 men were fallen. They lay strewn across the field as the haunting screams of terror they left shrieked through the ears of all.

Coryn didn't scream. He was too strong for it. He had been trained to keep his cool-- but for a moment, he slipped, and it was quickly becoming difficult to keep a grip on himself. After the vision subsided, he lay on the ground, eyes clenched shut as he worked to catch his breath.

Westroe cackled like the devil he was. As he went off to his castle, the Holy Energy had all but dissipated. Their last hope was little more effective than a mud Quito’s against the forces of darkness. After a lifetime of training and fighting against demons and the devil's slaves, Cortot was no stranger to visions. But still, these visions were stronger, more powerful. He needed to get back; he needed to get the kid back.

Coryn's eyes opened in a flurry of movement, and soon he was standing, exerting no small amount of strength. A light was in his eyes, and there he stood like a warrior of old from when the world had been young: a true Belecthorian, he seemed, or the battle-fury of his ancestors ran like new fire in his veins, and he held himself like Daethdr the Firstborn had during his final battle against the Necromancer of Estel Tireni. The gold of his amulet was uncovered as he stood and it, too, shone, shining lo like an image of the smiling sun.[/i]

Honeywell Tech Sees New Profits

Honeywell Technology, Meretica's largest defense contractor, has seen a recent boost in profits and investments following the unveiling of the Honeywell ST-1519 Falcon. The Falcon is the fastest military jet that can be produced in Meretica today, topping out at 3,795 MPH (6,107 KPH). Weighing a mere 75,000 pounds (34,000 kilograms) with a wingspan of 50 feet (15.2 meters) and a length of 100 feet (30.5 meters), the Falcon is small for a fighter plane. Honeywell engineers have designed it specifically for use in potential battles where speed is key to victory. CEO Archibald Honeywell, 54, said that "We at Honeywell are proud to have introduced the next big thing in Meretican military tech. This is going to change things in the future."

The Falcon has been tested by the Meretican Royal Air Force and is said to be as effective as the F-117A stealth fighter (codenamed "Honeybee"), which was developed by Honeywell between 2017 and 2022. The Falcon is also said to be more technologically advanced than the F-117A, boasting advanced weaponry and sensors. The Falcon is said to be the most advanced fighter jet in the world, surpassing even the F-22 Raptor and F-35 Joint Strike Fighter. The Falcon has also been hailed as a potentially revolutionary weapon for the battlefield, with the potential to dramatically change warfare and save millions of lives.

The Falcon is equipped with the Honeywell Weapon System. This is a weapon system that has been developed by Honeywell over the course of nearly a century. The system includes laser-guided munitions, weapons that use advanced infrared sensors and laser targeting, advanced munitions that use precision guidance systems, and weapons that use advanced targeting systems. The Meretican Armed Forces have currently requested 500 models that are expected to be completed within the next year. Senator Kennedy has also expressed concerns about the missile defense system that the Falcon is designed to use. Kennedy said that "The missile defense system that Honeywell has developed is not a good idea. It is expensive and dangerous. What if this got into the wrong hands? What if terrorists got their hands on this stuff? I don't think it's smart to have missiles that can shoot down missiles that are being fired at us. I don't think the military should be spending millions of dollars on a missile defense system that can potentially be used against us." Senator Kennedy has also expressed concern about the use of the Falcon by the Meretican military. Kennedy said that "I think the military is overstepping their bounds with the Falcon. I think it's going to create problems with foreign nations, especially in light of the Esterton Atrocity and other affairs. We shouldn't do it."

However, most Senators disagree. Senate Majority Leader Hawthorne and Senate Minority Leader Hinterland have both expressed interest and approval in the Falcon. Senator Hawthorne said that "This is a great weapon for the Meretican military. The Meretican military is the best in the world and I want them to keep it that way. I don't want the Meretican military to go backward and start using weapons that are not as good as the ones we already have." Senator Hinterland echoed the sentiment, saying that "I think the Falcon is a great weapon and I'm happy that the Meretican military is working with Honeywell on it. It is a great weapon and it's going to help us in the future if, Heaven forbid, we should get involved in a war. We can pursue world peace and maintain a strong military at the same time, and we should. If the need arises, we need to be able to defend ourselves."

Sen. Hawthorne Leads Union Rally in Newark

Senate Majority Leader Henry Hawthorne was in Newark, New Jersey yesterday in support of union workers celebrating the formation of the International Workers Union, which has already seen escalated growth globally with several nations having submitted workers to join. "We're looking forward to brighter days in Meretica and abroad," Senator Hawthorne said. "The IWU is the new face of the labor movement, and we're proud to be a part of it."

The formation of the IWU, which has already begun to spread across the globe, was inspired by the success of the labor movement in Meretica. "Organize here, organize there, organize everywhere," said IWU member and New Jersey resident Tomi Jo Fuhriman. "What is happening in the Empire is happening in other countries, and the IWU is here to help."

Harriet Goldstein Officially Becomes Secretary of State

Harriet Goldstein, a longstanding and well-known diplomat, was given the consent of the Senate to serve as Secretary of State. Goldstein has spent weeks working as the Acting Secretary, but the final steps have been taken to make the office hers.

Goldstein is a former president of the World Affairs Council of Rome and she served as an advisor to the Meretican World Trade Center for several years. She has also served as a senior advisor for foreign policy and national security for the now-defunct Federalist National Committee and as a policy advisor to the National Security Council during the Davis Administration.

Goldstein, who is Jewish, will be the first Jewish woman to serve in the Cabinet in several years. She is the first Jewish female to hold the position of Secretary of State. The Senate voted 9,993 to 6 to confirm Goldstein, with one Senator voting present. Her confirmation was not without some small controversy. The Federalist Gazette reported that Senator Dodd, a former prisoner of war, had "serious concerns" about Goldstein's vague statements regarding how she would handle fascist threats on domestic soil. "She's going to be soft on fascism, I fear," Dodd said. "We are going to be in a position where we will have to fight fascism on our own soil, and I just can't imagine that she has the stomach to do that."

Goldstein was sworn in at the Summer Palace today by Chief Justice John Amos Mattox III. King Malcolm II, President Flores, and various other officials were in attendance.

Commercial flight 1619 MEM, which was leaving Memphis, Tennessee for Portland, Oregon, crashed in a field in Kansas. Jessica Waterson-- --and 58 other people were killed upon impact. Details about the crash are vague and more are expected to be released in the coming days. This is the first commercial plane crash that was not the result of a terrorist attack or war-related event.

Jessica was born to Jamie Lee Hendershot, a seamstress from New Orleans, in 1935. By age 10, Jessica began working with her aunt Hilde Hendershot at bars in the greater New Orleans area as a piano player; she also worked with her mother in the family's sewing business. Jessica started singing at age 15 while her aunt played piano, and very soon they were taking turns in both spots.

It was one of the best-selling union song albums for five decades, surpassed by her hit single "There's Wonder-working Power in a Union" in 2013 to celebrate a working-class victory for construction workers in New York that had successfully raised their wages to twice fo what they were before.

Jessica was an advocate of LGBTQIA+ rights, marrying a woman named Eileen Waterson in 1973. They remained together for 51 years until Eileen's death. She also campaigned for the rights of women and children.

The SP-7 is a pistol designed and manufactured by the Worker's Union of Stork Industries, made for all Revolutionary Forces as part of the JURA proposal. It fires a 7.5 FK BRNO round, which is much stronger, faster, more accurate, and more powerful than a 9.19mm parabellum round. The SP-7 has much more stopping power than the usual 9mm ammo that the Revolutionary formerly used, and has an effective range of 75–150 meters while still retaining more kinetic energy at that range, than what a 9×19mm can generate at the muzzle/point blank range. It has been noted by some workers that it has the same recoil power of the .45 ACP pistols, and terminally effective as the 7.62 x 39 Russian/5.56 NATO cartridges. As based on the test, the SP-7 is accurate for 100 meters with a flat trajectory, and was able to consistently hit a 100×100 mm (3.93-sq.in.) target at 100 meters. The SP-7 is an all-steel, short-recoil operated, semi-automatic pistol that is expected to be the new service pistol for all Revolutionary forces. It is rumored that the decision to use the 7.5 FK ammunition came from the Revolutionary Council, with the purpose of having an interoperability capability with the Gonswanzan forces, simplifying the KTO military logistics, and having a pistol with enough stopping power against an enemy target.

The Darlinburg-Class Dreadnought was the primary warship of the Janpian Empire during the 3rd Era, boasting twelve 28cm-45 (11") SK L-45 cannons and a few 8-centimeter cannons. It was the most produced warship-class of the Janpian Empire back then, before it was outgunned and succeeded by the Regal-Class Battleship. The Darlinburg-Class Dreadnought is named after the old imperial capital of Darlinburg, the center of the Janpian Empire. The restored warship, JIS Darlinburg, is the lead ship of her class, retaining the same specifications as the rest of her sister ships. The JIS Darlinburg was part of the Revolutionary Fleet that revolted against the Janpian Empire during the 4th Era Revolution, and became part of the legendary Battle of the Janpian Sea, where she scored hits on JIS Tuyaschino. She became a member of the Revolutionaries, after the sailors ousted their naval officers by surrounding them in their quarters, forcing them to surrender their gold-plated pistols and swords. The sailors then tied the officers in to the anchor line, and dropped them to the deep sea, drowning all 12 of them.

Out of the 64 Darlinburg-Class Dreadnoughts, only 16 are remaining, and 2 are fully operational and sea-worthy. The Darlinburg-Class Dreadnought are noted for their top-of-the-line rangefinder and communications controls, enabling the ship to accurately coordinate her salvos that reach over 16 kilometers. It also has 15x water-tube boilers, granting her a maximum speed of 20 knots. All of these are under 20,000 tons of displacement. The workers that restored JIS Darlinburg have stated that the ship is fully restored from every rivet holes, up to the bridge and mast. They claimed she was ready to sail for the upcoming Revolution Day to participate in a small fleet review on the Munschen River.
