The sweating system stops working at a temperature where bodily processes become dysfunctional. Also, yes, heatwaves tend to result in electrical grid failures, meaning that ACs and even fans stops working, especially in places of poor infrastructure. Mass deaths will be the result, especially for vulnerable people like the elderly population.

Vegas and most of Southern California are way overpopulated to be "sustainable ". We build in creosote Forrests and cry about wild fires. We build in deserts and cry about water.. These things aren't caused by climate change but by masses of people wanting to live in places that can't naturally support them.

Turn off the AC and 90% of the people there would leave. Even if you disagree about the climate building large cities in the desert is stupid. Especially ones with golf courses.

And as electricity supply is likely to become scare/prohibitively expensive (along with water shortages) it’s better to start the relocation of people now why there’s still an energy surplus. (Whatever is decided in the next election, fossil fuels are doomed forever now).
