Uneasy neutrality: Armenia pledges noninvolvement in Europe

Amongst these...trying times in Europe; the Armenian government has made an odd decision, to say the least. Despite having fought alongside the Phenyzians in Turkey, and despite their common membership in the Global Entente of Nations and Alliances, His Majesty Gdridg II proclaimed its neutrality in this conflict in Europe, citing fears of potential nuclear exchange.

The Conference of Tsolakert, which concluded yesterday, was to discuss the distribution of Armenian troops across the globe; whether they be in the Caucasus, or Eastern Anatolia (A.K.A. Western Armenia) as a part of routine operations, or whether they be abroad as a part of peacekeeping and/or conflict, gradually shifted to discussing Phenyzia's heinous actions. When asked by reporters from Armenia News, Prince Soghomon Bagratuni, Chief of the General Staff, had the following to say:

"See, this is an interesting question. If we do get involved, heaven forbid, we wouldn't be on the side of such an...imperialistic regime. And, seeing as how they too have a chokepoint in Turkey, I see not why we SHOULD do so. This is why His Majesty proclaimed neutrality, lest we risk our territorial integrity OR a nuclear war."

In the meantime, the Armenian government has offered to serve as a sort of mediator, hoping to ease the tensions before the war (somehow) grows to something even larger.

Ascension

Everything had fallen into place, europe lies defeated within merely five days, Richter and his hardliners who had nearly triggered were about to be eliminated just as had been done with the corrupt Viceroys. At last Eurasia had been realized.
These points had been repeated by state-owned media over and over in the past few days before Crown-Princess Viktoria finally held a public speech, directed both at the Empire's own people and at the world:

"Let me begin by condemning the threats and actions made by former Reichskanzler Richter and his Imperial Party. The people involved in this will never leave prison again and I apologize to the international community for stepping in too late as one old fool nearly triggered armageddon. "

"Just as it was my decisive actions that led to the purge of colonial officials involved in slave trade, it was also my decisive actions that led to the removal of this madman. Let this be a warning to all corrupt fools who undermine our great nation, under me there will be no mercy for slave traders or criminals who disobey Imperial Law. I will not turn a blind eye to such matters."

"To ensure that no such incident will happen ever again the Imperial Party, headed by the former Reichskanzler, alongside the other two major parties are hereby disbanded and will be replaced with the Grand Imperial Unity Party. The position of Reichskanzler is abolished, the duties of running day-to-day government business will instead from now on fall to the newly appointed Chairman of the Grand Imperial Unity Party. Details on the new electoral system that comes with this change will be revealed at a later date."

"That being said despite the unfortunate events surrounding the conflict, the Imperial military has won great victories. With the surrender of all hostile regimes followed by the liberation and integration of the western european territories the centuries old dream of Eurasia has at least been realized. From the ashes of this conflict a new, reborn, power rises. On the first of july I will assume the Imperial throne, not as Empress but as Grand Empress of the Eternal Kaiserreich. The Greater Kaiserreich is dead, and from it's ashes a new power ascends, may the Eternal Kaiserreich rule forever."

Reckoning

"It would appear that you got outplayed, Richter." Generalfeldmarschall Romanov stated with an almost sadistic glee as he motioned for his guards to ready their weapons. Richter and dozens of other arrested former government officials and high-ranking bureaucrats who were deemed too dangerous to keep alive had been lined up. "Officially all of you are sentenced to life in prison without parole, but I'm afraid we can not leave any loose ends in this matter. Die with the stagnant past you were so obsessed with old fool. The grand future we are creating needs visionaries, you have simply become useless to us. But...I can not deny that there is a certain irony in me of all people becoming your executioner. Come on, smile, it will be the last time you can do so."

With these words and a nod Romanov gave the order. The guards took aim and with the pull of a trigger reckoning came.

Aftermath

Imperial high Command held yet another emergency meeting following the threats from the United Confederation. Reichsmarschall Wagner, supreme commander of the entire Imperial Military, presented his opinion to the gathered officers:

"I am fairly confident the United Confederation is merely bluffing. Imperion has already backed off and our new Empr-.. I mean Grand Empress essentially presenting the head of Richter to Shazbotdom seems to have satisfied the demands of their Emperor too. The United Confederation would most likely stand alone in such an attack and our analysis shows they are significantly outnumbered by our forces deployed to Western Europe, their expeditionary force of 10 million would get slaughtered after being cut off from supplies, considering they not only have to cross an ocean but would also be attacking an entrenched and numerically superior force with more reliable and shorter supply lines...it would be sheer madness to try. Even if they had an advantage of 10 to 1 such an assault would likely fail and their logistics would inevitably collapse."

"Still, I recommend we do at least take this threat somewhat seriously and deploy additional forces from siberia to western Europe and keep all twelve Yggdrassils on high alert to strike potential carrier groups trying to breach our waters."

As the world turns, Gonswanza seems to be preparing for... Something.

Yet, Operation Frost Eagle kicks off with a naval bombardment of Anchorage, after missile strikes against a USCG base in Kodiak, Alaska. Alicorn was put to work here, as the fleet pushes for the Cook Inlet. Elsewhere, as part of the operation, a separate group lays an assault upon Valdez, keen on taking the area due to the sheer amount of natural resources located there. However, both groups would encounter USCG cutters and other craft, which were swiftly dealt with in short order. The sheer fury of the Alicorn has been unleashed, though to add to the strikes, Kalibir-Ms were also employed against the Clear Air Force Station, in an attempt to knock out their early warning systems and capacity to respond to nuclear strikes should the systems be restored... Which they were. Defenses come online, with about 70% of the missiles being intercepted, but the rest manage to narrowly evade and strike the base, causing heavy damage to facilities, including the radar systems and command and control. The BMEWS facility was also struck, though damages were minimal for the first wave.

The follow-up wave however manages to knock out power and destroy some of the defenses, along with finally destroying the BMEWS itself, with further damages to radar facilities and various on-site locations... As the third wave soon strikes against the local (in terms of distance) airstrip, negating any possible use from it, while also hammering away against any unlucky aircraft still stuck there in the open.

That said, the battle for Anchorage and Valdez had yet to begin proper, with Valdez facing a similar treatment as Anchorage: A heavy-handed hammering from cruise missiles and later shells, prior to the actual assault against a weakened enemy.

A shame that the weather had other plans, with a sudden storm pushing in to bring heavy snow/rain and high winds, which was a bit unusual for this time of year. Granted, the storm would be pushing hard across Alaska, offering the 27th a chance to show what they're made of, as the war for the air is about to begin.

Zelenny Workers reveals new line of armored vehicles

The workers of the Zelenny Industrial Union has unveiled a new line of ATVs for the Revolutionary Army, featuring their modularity features and multiple mission capability, allowing easy maintenance, and ease of production. The ZAI-8 is an APC with STANAG V armor, Revolutsiya BMS, amphibious capability, and a maximum running speed of 97 kmph. The base design of the ZAI-8 contains a 30mm auto cannon, attached to a stabilized RCWS, along with multiple gun ports on the side, increasing its protection and defense. The RCWS contains 3rd generation FLIR, contextual-based auto target systems, and AI-powered combat systems. However, its design allows multiple variations and mission capabilities, such as the ZAI-8-120, fielding a 120mm cannon. ZAI-8-MLRS, carrying 239mm rocket caliber with target reaching capabilities of over 82 kilometers. ZAI-8-SHORAD for anti-air missions. ZAI-8-M for mobile mortar, and many more examples of ZAI-8 modularity.

The ZAI-8 is part of the JURA proposal to bolster their capabilities, along with modernizing aging divisions. However, the center point of all this is the new RCWS systems that have a contextual-based auto targeting system, which enables the turret to act independently and differentiate high-value or dangerous targets, automatically aiming and gunning them down. As based on the test phase, the RCWS pointed over targets equipped with RPGs first, then over targets with rifles. The new sets of ZAI-8 is expected to participate in the upcoming Revolution Day March. It is also expected to be mass produced for the Revolutionary Forces.

Muqaddasia has put its defences on high alert after the Imperion Coalition severed its ties with GENA and established ties with the KTO. Sovereign Mohammed Mousavi gave a speech at Beirut. “Unfortunately, there are enemies and traitors all around, from small ones like the CRM and Bahrain to ones like The King Isle, the KTO and the Imperion Coalition. We can trust no-one, but ourselves. We can speak freely to no-one, but ourselves. Our enemies wish to divide us, to steal our land, our homes, our lives… we cannot raise a white flag at these vicious and greedy enemies! Never shall they take our land, never shall they prevail against the might of Muqaddasia!”

While the news from Muqaddasia reaches Gonswanza, it's mostly shoved aside, regarded as just mad ramblings of a paper tiger hardly worth paying attention to. Yet, while the Special Warfare Division continues to operate overseas (Operation Blood Eagle, along with humanitarian aid in Muqaddasia) the Incendiary Weapons Division celebrates its formation, all the way back in 1915. This rather specific division (referred to as the 15th, whereas the SWD is referred to as the 71st) was formed in anticipation of invasion, intended to hinder and bind hostile forces with area denial, incendiary weapons, and, at one point, a proposal for high explosive incendiary torpedoes loaded with petrol. That day never came, luckily, but they have stuck around since.

The celebration was a march through the streets, the soldiers dressed in modified BAA intended to shield them against incendiary weapons, while helicopters flew overhead, along with a show of their arsenal. This even included a few armored cars, though they were armed with what seemed to be machine guns, a nice choice for support. As the event goes on, the history of the division is shown on a large screen, showing the limited operations that had taken place, including their involvement in Operation Green Thunder, where they engaged US forces in the field with other Gonwanzan infantry. This also showed their (limited) involvement in the war against Muqaddasia as well, along with activities during the opening hours of Operation Blood Eagle. Unlike the Special Warfare Division, they seem to see less use overall, ironically, but that soon may change in the coming weeks as various wars continue to pop up in other regions.

That aside, Laura Ortiz praises them for their service, as they salute to her given their routine, carrying enough incendiary agents to probably vaporize most of Jaktoo if someone managed to release it all at once. But with tight security in the wake of idle threats from AZNUP and other parties, such an attack would be deemed impossible. Not that it was physically possible in any sense of the word anyways.

Olpenese Government Pledges Non-Intervention Will Be Central Tenant of Policy

In a daily Press Conference of the Olpenese military, Gen. Bearing, leader of the North Eastern Command, stated that non-interventionism will be a central tenant and principle of the Olpenese government and foreign policy in the coming years. The government has stated that they will not intervene in wars that do not directly affect the Olpenese government, state, or people. This comes soon after the resolution of the near nuclear Phenyzian Takeover of Europe.

After thorough discussion and discourse between the government bodies, Olpen has decided that the Republic will be focusing on internal affairs in the coming months. Chamber Minister Skinner has said that non-interventionism and military isolationism will be a central tenant of the new administration. He has instructed Olpenese forces in Marajarbia and other GENA nations to withdraw ao as to not display favoritism.

The government has, for some months now, devoted itself to internal affairs, not so much as speaking on global events like the Phenyzian takeover war and the Muqqadaasian-Janpian War. This move was expected to take place as the new Skinner Administration has been ignoring international affairs.
That said, it is a sharp pivot from other politicians in Olpen. Sorit and Nantye were both interventionists, and while Neuville and Jordan were both more selective, they were too. This is beginning to show an about-face in policy.

Opinion: Isolationism Is The Best Thing To Happen to Olpen

In this very paper, you have read about the government's official policy of anti-interventionism, and in many others, you have been informed of protectionist bills passed by Chamber Minister Skinner. Together, this policy constitutes Isolationism, which the dictionary states is "a policy of remaining apart from the affairs or interests of other groups, especially the political affairs of other countries." This policy, in my humble opinion, is great.
Since the beginning of the policy, not a single Olpenese soldier has been killed by a foreign bullet or bomb. No Olpenese civilians have been gased, attacked, or executed. The economy has skyrocketed, and the International Protectionism & Fumes Act is expected to bring 3.2 million jobs to Olpen as well as brng about an export increase. The Republic is doing great.
We might not be intervening in foreign wars, but with the advent of greater technologies and weaponry, it seems to costly to do so I wish there would be global isolationism, and that no man would attack another, but until that day it seems best to simply let the world run. Olpen is a state for the Olpenese citizens residing in it. Not a puppet of global democracy eager to die like lemmurs.

UASN terror attacks decrease, AZNUP makes new plan

Following the 2 massacres in ZN leading to a massive spike in terror attacks in ZN. As of current the number continues to drop. However many experts say that this is merely the calm before the storm. However AZNUP and many foreign countries have declared victory over international terrorism. As of this news AZNUP has announced that it would be joining in SM’s international rebuilding plan with the rebuilding of ‘national, pride, power and unity’ this will be through a massive crackdown on enemies of state and a massive increase in military spending. AZNUP’s new budget spends nearly 20% of national GDP on military. Leaving only 2.3% on healthcare, 0.4% of welfare, 2.6% of elderly care. Concerns over issues with such a budget have occurred but AZNUP has refused all comments on those claims. This new military spending will include a nuclear build-up. AZNUP has confirmed that 34 more advanced ICBMs and 12 more medium yield nuclear warheads have been constructed

Roman Senate Debates IFC Resolution 27a

New Rome, NRI – The controversial Resolution 27, which was edited into 27a, is the subject of debate in today’s Senate session. Members of the minority party, the Liberal Party, argued that the Conservative Party’s support of Resolution 27a is not necessary as those previsions are covered in Resolution 26. Party leadership also announced that they have a proposal for the next IFC resolution.

This resolution, which is being debated in the senate, will emphasize diplomacy, according to someone familiar with the resolution. This will shift the IFC’s current stance which has remained isolationist. The liberal Senators want the IFC to open lines of dialogue with all alliances. This will better facilitate diplomacy among alliances to prevent wars. Many liberals also hope that this will prevent conflict in the future.

The current party in power, the Conservative Party, has taken a hard line against alliances that harbor non-democratic nations. The liberals have been outspoken on this issue, as has the second minority party the Transhumanists. There are rumors that the Liberals and Transhumanists may be in talks to create a coalition government. The conservative party has 59 seats while the liberals and transhumanists have 39 and 25 respectively. Should they create a coalition, with will elect a Praetor that will oppose the Caesar and work to push their agenda.

Henricus was praying. Although a Catholic, although the leader of a Holy Order, this was rather odd. He was always busy. Meeting the Pope, training recruits, or made strategies, but not often did he have time to go to mass. Every Sunday he did, and he surely believed in God, but he was hardly more devout than a Sunday Catholic. But he had a duty to fill. He had a job, a job that could save the souls of millions and the lives of the whole world.
The Church was beautiful. Its rough, rock walls were bent from centuries of usage. The front was a magnificent gold altar inlaid with emerald jewels. On the roof, a mosaic of the Father giving Adam life was shining. But as he was going to leave, the mosaic started shattering. Pieces of the tile were falling, even the wall showed large cracks sprouting from the ground. Henricus knew what this was.
He summoned his staff and cross. He teleported to the stables and mounted his horse. As he was in the stables, he saw the barrier-breaking. He heard the blasts, the wicked laughter above. He rose up through the air, his white stallion flying majestically. He saw to his surprise that the Satanic army had already fled. he charged after them, shooting spell after spell. They dodged every single one. He summoned more magicians. They got there quickly and began shooting as well, but they dodged all the spells.
Finally, Cortot blasted Westroe. For a second, it seemed like darkness would fall, metaphorically and physically. He thought for a moment that he would be able to defeat him here. But instead of his foe falling, Cortot did. He was so shocked he couldn't summon his spells. He found that his corporeal form was falling, ever closer to the ground. It went silent, he remembered, but then he fell asleep. Was this how it ended? He thought he saw a light, a great light calling him.
His would fell. He knew he was dead, he was sure of it. He was content, happy almost before he realized he was going down. Satan formed before him. He was a man of contradictions. His face was beautiful and charming, yet it was offputting and disfigured. His body was on fire- not it was fire, he realized- but still, he seemed like he was going to grab you. He was on a throne, an obsidian block. The armrests were made of bones. Cortot tried to scream, but he couldn't. He knew he wasn't meant to be here, but if he tried to leave, a b turning sensation almost like a shot hit him.
"Hello, Cortot," the demon said. "Don't worry, you're not dead. I've come to appreciate you... for now. I would however like to show you my plans, if you may." The demon took his silence as a yes, and began a reel. It showed horrible images. Earth was flattened. New York was obliterated like a nuclear bomb had been launched. Scezonia was covered in blood and bowels. He saw children dead in the street. He tried to scream again, but this time he believed he was simply too shocked to make noise. "Like what I've done with your planet? Don't worry, I'll let you watch!" With a horrifying laugh that could only be described as animal, Cortot awoke in a hospital bed.

Liberal party leader retires, shifts in parliament occur

Dutch Liberal Party leader Joseph Meinz has retired at old age of 72. His rule over the Liberal Party led to many a election victory, end of South African and East Indian apartheid and increased democratization. Due to poor health and his eldest son’s cancer he has decided to end his political career. He has stated: “My time is done. Now time for a new man for the job”. Liberal Party leadership has past to acting-chairmen Bert-Jan Ophoff. Party leadership elections are to happen soon.

Following mr. Meinz’s retirement multiple members(including Parliamentary Representatives) of the Liberal Party have changed over the ruling Conservative party. To add to injury their opposition coalition has also lost 2 smaller parties. One of these being the New Dutch Party who has joined the ruling Conservative coalition.

New Gascony drought and famine continue. New report on the ground situation out!

The New Gascony drought has entered it’s 8th year and hottest(2nd driest) year, right as Armenian troops landed on the far off coast of Brazzillia. Soon the horror story on everyone’s minds began. But as the shells fell a famine began. As of now New Gascony is by far the worst hit region in ZN. With any infrastructure cratered, constant terrorism and anarchy has let the monster of climate change take it’s all mitty jaw at humanity. A massive famine led by the failing water supply and war has left over a million dead.

Now what’s the current situation not the past situation. Well due to the situation politically it’s been very hard to gather any information but based on the most reliable data we can tell a few things.
1. The situation is extremely bad. Terrorism is stopping most relive efforts and it’s not getting better
2.AZNUP’s humanitarian efforts have been second to security. Church is primary humanitarian organization in New Gascony
3.Radiation from the fire in the Black Forest has caused significant damage to crops and people
4.The death count is between 1.8-2.1 million. (Most likely the famine has broke 2 million dead)
5.and it will go much higher(see above image for info)
There have been unconfirmed reports of ‘dead trains’ industrial train cars filled the brim with not resources but dead bodies though we have confirmed where they supposedly go. The water, we’ve confirmed that they have used lakes and the ocean as mass-graves. As for the state of society in New Gascony; whole family units have collapsed with whole towns deserted. Constant chaos with the state of life in near constant pain.

President Jaguar Aquilion looks at a digital screen showing Britian, The Northern coast of Gual/France, and where millions of Battle Hardened Roman Soldiers stood. His eyes raced across the map reading every small tidbit, he had always been a fast reader so this was no problem. "Hmmm. We outnumber them but those brits have many times defeated us. Atalanta: Yes. Our spies have given us the location of their troops. We are doing traditional landings, yes?

Jaguar: Yes, and with Normandy right there this should be a successful landing.

Atalanta: How do you like taking the reigns for once?

Jaguar: Eh little more boring than expected. Oh look the 23rd is now at Normandy.

Jaguar flips a lever that sends the command to the troops "Attack". Immediately thousands of bombers and Fighters take offtoward the beaches of Britian prepared to blast their defenses to smithereens, while 100s of naval ships Attack the British fleets. The British fleet although very out numbered fought honorably with them even being able to sink a Roman fleet. But the brits are too outnumbered many of the brits surrender, some fight to the death and some commit suicide because they don't want to be taken alive. With the channel now secure the Roman fleets begin bombarding the British coast. Up in the air the Roman bombers and Fighters are having a hard time repelling the British. But like in the seas below the British are too outnumbered. Many pilots of the British are forced to bail out. And those that don't go down with their aircraft. With the skies and waters now under Roman controlled. The path to London is now wide open.

Internationally Televised Broadcast By Emperor Conall Solis

All Makko Okoan TV signals were cut, no matter what was being aired, to the previously announced upcoming broadcast by the Emperor. On the TV was a backdrop of the Makko Okoan flag, along with a podium with the Office Of The Emperor symbol on it. Almost immediately, somebody in the background says "The televised broadcast will begin soon" and as instructed by the Emperor, the broadcast started airing internationally in every nation that would accept it.

About 5 minutes later, the Emperor walks up to the podium, clears their throat and then starts:

"Hello my people of Makko Oko.
I know that the world has gone through some troubling times recently, with attacks of the state institutions ever more rampant.
I would like my people, my citizens, to know, that the protection of their lives, is our priority, as is our sovereignty.
This is why, in these times, I have taken action such as the Public Order Act, to mitigate these issues, and to protect our allies.
It is hard for me to announce, that the guarantees of international friendship, is ever harder than before."

The Emperor is noticeably starting to tear up slightly, unknowing if it's genuine or just for show.

"And with the recent attack on our friends of Ferwerter, we are never sure of who or what is an enemy.
Which is why I feel the need to announce, that our military is ramping up voluntary enlistment, for there is no greater need, than for the security of the homeland and abroad.
We intend to install our soldiers in every corner of the globe, to ensure security of our allies, and to hastily protect ourselves in a needed war."

The Emperor then starts his finishing statement, moving into a serious and almost threatening tone.

"And to our enemies, foreign and domestic.
We will find you.
It is not condoned.
No state will harbor you.
And if one sets a nuke, we will run fast.
And we will obliterate you."

The Emperor then walks off the podium and the Makko Okoan national anthem plays in full, before the transmission then cuts off. Support and pride within Makko Oko was at its highest after the broadcast had ended.

Roman Republic Armed Forces Announces Gun Competition

---

New Rome, NRI – Republic Army, on the behalf of all the branches in the Republic Armed Forces, announced today a new competition to replace its Personal Defense Weapon, General Purpose Machine Gun, Designated Marksmen Rifle, and Sniper Rifle. This is to align its arsenal with the rounds chosen by the IFC’s Peacekeeping Forces for its STANAG. Though the NRI is not required to align its arsenal, the military leadership has stated that this move will better allow the NRI’s military to interface with IFC-PKF during conflicts.

The rounds that are required are as follows:
PDW(X) – 5.7x28mm
DMR(X) – 7.62x51mm
MG(X) – 7.62x51mm
S(X) – .300 Winchester Magnum

This competition is open to all companies, though the Republic Armed Forces reserves the right to refuse any company for reasons of national security. This competition is expected to take the better part of a year, with the submission phase taking up 1 month.

Make it quick" at first the message was regarded as a fake. Then leaflets were dropped showing communist leaders in captivity, and a written speech about the communist governments choice to surrender, lastly a notice is written: "If major communist forces do not lay down arms and surrender within the next month, these leaders will be hung." The communist forces were shocked, they were in reach of the leverage they needed to win the war, why should they lay down arms and surrender? So the civil war mostly continued, until a communist recon drone spotted government convoy transporting a nuclear warhead. After a short battle, the convoy drove off, killing most of the communist attackers, but now the communists, knowing that the government forces had Nukes Most quickly surrendered, while small pockets continued, but with less equipment, manpower and supporters. Finally, Ukcross was (Mostly) United. And quickly, the government found problems. Food shortages, power shortages, crippled army, small rebellions, and disgruntled people all hindered the already unstable government. The Ukcrossian government quickly started to reach out to other countries for foreign aid.

SCENE: 100nm South-West of the Straight of Gibraltar

The ISS Henry D. Harrington, Imperator-class Guided Missile Frigate (FFGN-352), was one of the newest and most advanced ships of the fleet, built at the Shipyards of a local ship manufacturing yards with the Domestic Production Rights purchased from Halcyon Arms. Her keel was laid down 4 years ago, she first set sail on her maiden voyage 31 months ago and commissioned 27 months ago. With the latest and advanced weaponry, sonar, radar, and protection systems, she can easily hold her own in battle.

“Hold course, full steam ahead,” Captain Keys stated. He’s been with the Harrington since she sailed her first mission and, for the last 14 months, was in charge of protecting shipping lanes of the Shazbotdom Empire in the South Atlantic. Ending her mission there, she was now tasked with checking on an old Imperial Research Station on the Island of Comino, near Malta just south of Sicilia. With the issues that have been caused by Phenyzia, what normally is a single ship is now a total of 8 FFGN’s.

The Harrington, which is positioned in the middle of the formation, will be one of the middle ships through the straights due to the fact that it has a resupply of food and research equipment for the facility. Each ship holds 70 VLS Tubes, 2 Triple-Torpedo Tubes, a Dual-Barrel Advanced Gun system (CIWS), and 8 Large Quadruple AShM Launchers. It also houses a 2 Helicopter Hanger, which will be used for the resupply of the facility. Each one of the ships of this fleet has the same capabilities.

“Captain,” the radioman called, “We have reports that the fleet from Marasalian is en route to the straights.”

“Good,” Keys stated. “Notify them that we will arrive at the straights in 7 hours. Notify them that we will stand by just outside EEZ range of the straights and await their arrival. Send that on Coded IFC Frequency Delta 514.”

“Sir, Yes, Sir,” the radioman replied. He immediately got onto the radio to call in the information to the allied fleet, notifying them of the impending arrival of the fleet. Keys walked over to the windows on the bridge, which the Empire had reinforced from gunfire up to .50Cal, and looked out in the distance. AESA Radar was keeping an eye on the skies to ensure that there was no areal threat, and if so, then the CIWS would take care of them quickly. He sighed as he readied himself for the day ahead.

New Meretican elections have been held. The Conservatives at long last have lost their overwhelming majority, with a coalition between the Labour-Liberals, Loyal Fedrilicans, and Royalists-Monarchists deemed likely to occur. The presidency hangs in the balance, though the leaders of the three parties in the Senate-- Senators Henry Hawthorne (LL, Albuquerque), Jackie Desire (LF, Vienna), and Trenton Davies (RM, Almaton)-- have already started to meet with one another to build a coalition.

Meanwhile, the presidency is still down to a few outstanding states-- California (where recent earthquakes have disrupted voting) and the always-late Alaska. Governor Harold Morrison (C, Alaska) is confident that his margin of victory will be large enough in his home state not to matter what the outcome in California is, but Senator Maria Flores (Cedar Cove) is confident that California will hand her more than enough votes to ensure that she maintains her current lead. "California leans independent, and my polling has been in the high 70s there for eight weeks. I'm the independent candidate, I won the first round by three points nationally. I'm going to win this two-way race. Mereticans are tired of right-wing talking points and endless tax cuts on the rich-- they are ready for the working class to take back the power."

Outgoing Conservative President Hayes, who lost her primary and did not participate in the first part of the general election, has announced that the final votes have been received from the space colonies, with all votes from the galactic colonies having been successfully counted.

Gibraltar Garrison

Gibraltar itself was in the process of being fortified with new coastal defence systems, right now however it was secured by a detachment of the Imperial Naval Infantry and a single Tyrann-class carrier, the Stählerne Faust, which had been the flagship of the intervention in Muqaddasia and it's escort consisting of older Raubtier-class destroyers from the late 1970s and a few Wikinger-III class missile cruisers from the early 1990s. The real defence was below the surface as the mediterranean sea had been practically swarmed with Kraken-class attack submarines and even a few of the more advanced Schwertfisch-class attack submarines with a few of the autonomous Dolch systems deployed across the western mediterranean sea.

In the air the naval version of the Phenyzian J-19 Thor multirole aircraft, the J-19M formed the backbone of Gibraltar's security. Across the the mediterranean itself the more advanced J-22 Donner was used for patrols from southern France and Italy.

The local garrison had very strict orders: Do not fire upon anyone unless they breach territorial waters. While some of the Kraken-class submarines would follow anyone crossing Gibraltar at a distance, they would indeed not try to engage them or fire upon them, merely keeping a close eye.

The Ukcrossian Guard is disbanded, recreated, multiple times as many argue it is a brutal organization, the soldiers who committed many crimes. Many argue that they are the best soldiers they had, and that reforms could be made. In the end it is kept. Then, the Ukcrossian economy stops plummeting, with the fighting stopped, the people quickly got back to work. The military saw massive amounts of conscripts leave when the conflict finished, leaving the military undermanned, undersupplied and undertrained. This did let many go back to working,but unemployment was of course a problem, with most of the country in tatters. The Ukcrossian poverty rate, already high, rose more, the capital Chekvon, seemed empty, its building destroyed, the old walls had been ruined, and the militia bodies lay everywhere. Skeletons and rotting bodies still hanging from lampposts. This left most population centers in rural areas.
