Holland and Holland. Like Bang and Olufsen it is slightly better than the thing it is based on. But still not worth the price.
The kind of middle-class mentality which actuates both those responsible for strategy and government has little knowledge of the new psychology and organizing ability of the totalitarian States. The forces we are fighting are governed neither by the old strategy nor follow the old tactics.

It's manual action. So they are related, but not mechanically.

First of all, bolt actions customarily use magazines while lever actions usually use under barrel tube magazines, shown in the 1894 Winchester. Lever actions are more similar to pump actions and the systems on gas operated/recoil actuated shotguns as they largely do the same thing.

So by the fact that they are both manual operations, yeah they're similar. But like you said, mechanically they're completely different.

I'm fond of the Mauser 1896 - the long Swedish one. Though the Mosin-Nagant proved superior to most other bolt-actions, expecially for sniping (see Zajcev, the legendary sniper of Stalingrad).

Also the "91" (Mannlicher-Carcano) is supposed to be able to fire magical bullets...

Mauser, Lebel, Lee-Enfield, Krag-Jorgenson or Carcano?

Discuss.

Oh, and no mentioning of the Springfield '03, that was a mauser action rifle, as was the US Enfield 1917.

If I had to get a WW2 era rifle, I'd probably get either a Lee-Enfield or a Swiss K-31.

What do you want to use it for?

Hunting (If so, what game?)? A general battle rifle? Sniping/precision marksmenship?

There's a different answer depending on each of these questions.
