I just did a search through the RL NCAA men's lacrosse record books to see if I could find the record for most penalties in minutes by an NCAA team. I hoped that figure would at least give me an idea of how to provide a guideline. I wasn't able to find anything pointing to a specific record.

Yes, there are penalty times (30 seconds for a technical foul, one minute or more for personal fouls), but I don't know if there's a specific number for collegiate or professional lacrosse (Premier Lacrosse League or Major League Lacrosse) the way it exists in the NHL.

For the Halls of Fame discussion, I was thinking about having the people I've contacted via TG choose characters by Friday's championship game.

I was planning to either RP a post where I had my character announce the characters from each country or even a separate RP of an induction ceremony/ribbon cutting for the actual Hall of Fame location.

As for Nations Hall of Fame, I'd like to see where we are with the earlier revised proposal for a points system. Should we also consider adding, say, Cosumar considering his previous success and his contributions to the sport?

With me usually not end up finding time for WLC, let's say I'm an observer in this case. Asking one question:

Sarzonia wrote:Here are a couple of ideas for Halls of Fame for the WLC. Obviously, we can either expand/contract based on feedback.

For the WLC, my idea for individual characters (such as players or coaches) is to follow a simplified model compared to the NSWC's for individual characters. In other words, one Hall of Fame inductee for each five times participating in a WLC and one for each championship.

For a Nations Hall of Fame, once a country reaches 20 points, they automatically get inducted into the Hall of Fame. I propose we have no vote unless the player has left the WLC and has not participated in the previous three WLC cycles.

They obtain points for the following
Championship: Four points
Hosting a WLC to completion: 2 points
Full Presidency (three WLC cycles): 2 points
Partial Presidency (less than three full WLC cycles): 1 point

If we want to add to any of the above (such as adding three points for advancing to the finals or one point for a semifinals appearance), we can definitely ponder that.

EDIT: Cass's RP of CLASS providing IC support gave me the idea to use my former IC WLC President as the person behind a would be Hall of Fame.

Under this, how many people would be inducted on the inaugural class?

Of course, I love this idea. Glad the lacrosse community will be having this.

What if the character doesn’t feature in an WLC team that meets the Criteria (I’m thinking of Yuga Kiuba) or we could make an ‘Hall of Shame’ for Players who Fail in someway

First of all, commiserations to Banija for falling just short again. Thanks Madam President Cass for doing a great job of hosting as usual!

Thanks Baker Park (and Banija via Discord!) for the congratulations!

Now, onto the Halls of Fame.

I think in theory, we should keep it to players/coaches/etc. who are no longer active. Should we have exceptions for that? Should we allow characters to be inducted while they're still active?

And for the countries Hall of Fame, what does everyone think of the reworked proposal?

Well, congrats to Sarz on the three-peat and the eight overall titles, and commiserations to Ban for missing out on yet another title. It just got harder to get back to the top now that eight is the new benchmark.

Now, about the hall of fame. What exactly are we supposed to do in the other thread? I don't really know. I want to do something but I'm not sure what.

The idea I have is to roleplay the moment for each character's induction, whether you have someone introducing your inductee or you just have your inductee come up to the dais and speak about being inducted.

I might do something with Kevin Price where I explore his emotions about his father being inducted, anxiety about speaking in front of a crowd, etc. and probably have the Sarzonians in attendance give Carter Whitlock a standing ovation when he walks up to the dais.

Banija told me via Discord he plans to RP tonight. That might give you some inspiration for your own RP.

Official WLC 40 Rankings.

You'll notice, of course, I did not give rank points for the preliminary knockout stage round. My philosophy, as a rank keeper, regarding that is this.

If there is a preliminary round...

# of teams competing. If more teams have a bye from that round than teams that are competing in that round, then it is a play-in round and nobody gets points from that round. So in this case, with 6 teams earning a berth directly in the QFs, and only 4 teams competing from that prelim round, it is considered a play-in round and no points are awarded to either teams who got byes or teams who won their play-in round games.

If more teams are competing in the preliminary round than teams who have earned berth directly to the next round, then it is considered a bye. In that scenario, both the teams with a bye and teams who win their preliminary round games are awarded points for a win in that round. Obviously, that did not apply this time.

WLC 40 Host Announcement

Alright, amigos, my sincerest apologies.

It is entirely my fault there was no cutoff yesterday. I forgot to add Matchday 1 to my own Calendar(which I usually do for tourneys), and, low and behold, I forgot that yesterday was Matchday 1.

I will cutoff shortly for Matchday 1, and the rest of the schedule will be pushed back by one day.

My sincerest apologies for the inconvenience.

Pursuant to Article II of the WLC Constitution, today's final being posted signifies the end of the WLC President's term.

As this is Cassadaigua's first term as WLC President, she may choose to stand as a candidate for re-election. In addition, any other potential candidates may express interest in becoming President or be nominated by a Council member (as defined by someone who posted a roster and a RP in the most recently concluded WLC).

This nomination period shall last until 12:30 p.m. EDT on 1 June 2022.

If anyone who might be considered for the Presidency chooses to decline, please respond accordingly.

Thank you.

The post above can serve as the notification to what we are going to do. Nominations can be sent to Cheergirls.
And we don't need to go to June 1st for it. The official deadline will be 8pm EDT, Monday May 30.

Thank you. Only nominations telegrammed to Cheergirls will be considered. I will not be seeking re-election, please do not nominate me.

I suppose that as VP for two terms, it really is my duty to say I will accept a nomination for President. It's a logical step as I've hosted twice and served under our two Presidents under the current Constitution.

Time is up for make nominations for the next WLC President.

A total of five nominations were received. All five were for Baker Park.

Therefore, we have just one person to vote for: WLC Council members (those who posted a roster and a RP in the now concluded WLC) can vote to either:

Approve BAKER PARK as next President.
Reject BAKER PARK as next President.

Please send these votes, to this account, Cheergirls, by 8pm EDT on Saturday, June 4. Thank you!

The Presidential elections are in and the results have been certified.

I humbly declare as the next President, none other than Baker Park!

The final tally was:
Approve Baker Park: 4
Reject Baker Park: 0

Congratulations to Baker Park, who will do a great job! He may choose any eligible Council member as his VP.

Thank you to all who nominated me and approved my selection as WLC President. Thanks to Cass for her work during her term also.
Boy did you all make a big mistake, not knowing that I have a bit of a dictatorial fetish
My three point plan:
1) Immediately declare myself President for Life
2) Void the results of WLC 40 and declare myself Champion
3) Repress all dissent
:p

But seriously, I hope to build upon the foundation that Sarzonia and Cass have established. I'll name a VP in a day or so when I have had a chance to discuss the role with potential candidates, unless someone volunteers.

See you at WLC 41!
