Spring's flirtation with the winter cold finally ending did not bring with it a pleasant summer breeze, but instead the acrid smell of burning fields, rotting livestock, and desecrated villages. All throughout the provinces, from The Western Approach of Orlais to the Korkari Wilds beyond Ferelden, expansion and reclamation efforts were being halted by an increasing Darkspawn threat. Full of Malice, these new Darkspawn soon overshadowed those of past incursions, seeking to raze all in their path and leave nothing to grow. The threat did not extend just to the villages in these far once tagged lost lands, but to the province capitals and powers as well. Those sitting comfortably in the great cities soon found their trade routes attacked, their research colonies threatened, and their sovereignty violated. Facing this level of adversity, it was declared that The Seventh Blight had arrived. The great kingdoms of Thedas came together in military unity, and alongside them The Order of The Grey Wardens stood to battle back the malicious Blight.
From recovery and slumber arrive legendary Commanders, alongside bright-eyed Recruits and seasoned Veterans, ready to stand to protect the world against the destruction The Blight may bring. Tonight's patrol was one of preventative measures. As the Assemblies of Thedas meet to decide worldly matters, representatives of towns and regions were being cut down in roads and outposts all over the wilds. Deploying forces whrere possible, the Grey Wardens and their staunch allies worked to push back the incursions upon regional delegations. While many were saved, too many others were lost. The pain and drive to improve will harden troops for the battles to come, until the Darkspawn threat is no longer present.
After battling back the invading forces where possible, recognizing that the matters of assembly were in peril, watchtowers were renovated and manned where once sat only abandoned outposts upon lonely peaks and high-rises. Lighting beacons of safety, these watchtowers served to provide additional support to initiatives determined to be heard by all across the world. As the Reclamation Effort continues, further action to revitalize blighted lands is to be expected.
