Playstyle

Style Mod: +1

Kuraita typically line up in a 3-4-1-2, with the choice of wide players depending on their opposition. Against more neutral to defensive opponents, the left side usually features an offensive player in Adomaitis and the right side a wingback in Legrants or Silveins; against an offensive side (roughly +2.5 and up) they will prefer Żukauskas on the left side and play Adomaitis as a striker. In the back, all three members are centre-backs and play as such; in midfield, they usually opt for a holding and a shuttling midfielder, although all central midfielders are somewhat versatile. Players in general are physically strong and athletic, and tend to work a lot and be competent at helping out on both sides of the pitch.
With the ball, the players on the side sometimes push up to the height of the offensive midfielder depending on the space they are given; all wingers and wingbacks are also very adept at changing directions fast and looking for counters. The playmaker usually stays in the middle of the pitch and looks for options, with the strikers lurking near the goal for the most part.
Without the ball, Kuraita’s wingbacks fall back and operate as a line of five defenders together with the CB’s, although the wingers and wide midfielders can remain a bit more offensive at times. The strikers can press, but the offensive midfielder tends to take a more passive role and falls back into the central midfield. Their defence is somewhat passive, but tries to keep the opponent away from the goal by pushing them away from the box and closing down the centre of the pitch with three central midfielders.

Player roles

Captain
Domantas Vaskevičius ⇒ Jonas Adomaitis ⇒ Mantas Urbauskas ⇒ Mihals Kalninš
Penalty takers (both ingame and shootouts)
Vaskevičius - Urbauskas - Adomaitis - Vilks - Varnis - Livs - Indrašis (in shootouts: continue from most to least offensive position)
Free kicks (direct)
Adomaitis (left, centre), Urbauskas (right), Vilks (backup)
Free kicks (long)
Adomaitis, Indrašis
Corners
Adomaitis
Goalkeeper hierarchy
Kalninš ⇒ Paritis ⇒ Żalgiris

Who is most likely to…

…be Kuraita’s best goal scorer?
Vaskevičius is a cold poacher who will create chances from anything that falls into the box. However, playing as an inverted winger who has a sheer unstoppable drive to the goal and a penchant for free kicks, Adomaitis might rival him.

…end up suspended?
As the man in the centre of the back three and a hulking, massive presence, Darius Stirs has a certain penchant for picking up stray yellow cards to problematic extents. Stanislas Żukauskas, on the other hand, balances his competitive excellence with a short fuse and might pick up a stupid red card outside the game if provoked or frustrated.

…score the goal of the tournament?
The star, the man, the technician, Jonas Adomaitis - and he’ll follow it up with a viral celebration too, probably. Lajals Vilks is a secondary guess, a technical and agile striker with the potential to shine.

…be Kuraita’s breakout star?
In a young team, there are multiple candidates, but the one to watch is probably Lauris Indrašis, a tireless and technically competent central midfielder. More in the background for now are Romanas Rosadas, a gifted but physically limited playmaker, and the relentless shuttler Čenins who made himself the star of FK Ronisala last season.

…attract legions of fangirls?
Audris Legrants doesn’t need to attract them, he already has them. A dashing character with remarkable flowing hair, he has been described by Kuraitan media as “having stepped out of the pages of a 19th century romantic novel onto a football pitch”. And if men with muscles befitting a Greek statue are more your thing, look no further than Andras Varnis.

…double his followers on social media?
That depends on the kind of content you like. Ivars Jonaitis and his FK Arcjuga teammate Vytautas Paritis are known for comedic short videos about their lives as footballers. Miks Fjelgrens is known for his open demeanor online and his photography hobby caught on in Kuraita. Finally, Żaks Silveins’ twii.tur is considered mandatory following for Kuraitan sports journalists thanks to his tendency to stir up controversy over basically anything.

…break curfew and play hungover?
Kuraitans are generally never opposed to some drunken fun, but some are pushing it a bit. Brais Koverlis and Zemgus Baltas are known for having caused some damage to an Arcjuga bar after celebrating their title with Lauvas last year; Magnus Livs is a known party-goer and hobby DJ. And Mindaugas Gazolinš was fined internally after allegedly having played a test match still mildly drunk the day after his 21st birthday.

STADIA AND TRAVEL

Kuraita lacks a true national stadium and will spread its games around three stadia across the country. Locations for each game will be released after the group draw. Thanks to the small size of the country, the cities in which the stadia are located can all be reached within 2.5 hours by car from Arcjuga International Airport, the only international airport of the nation. Unfortunately, flights into Kuraita are still rare due to the recent conflict situation, but with one to two transfers, it should be fairly possible to reach Arcjuga. Alternatively, ship connections into Arcjuga and Vaitspils are occasionally available.

Otjalas stadions (Arcjuga)

Image

Home team: FK Arcjuga
Capacity: 23’640

Kuraita’s biggest football and athletics stadium, FK Arcjuga’s home stadium is located on the banks of Otjala river in a former industrial park. It was constructed in the 1960s and renovated recently, coming along with a reduction of its international capacity as more seating was added. Otja, as it’s commonly known, is located within the transit system of the Arcjuga Metro Area, served by tram lines 5 and 12 as well as multiple bus lines from the city centre and Vaitspils town.

Hosts games against: Brenecia, Eura, Mertagne, Arjunnagar

SEMAK Arena (Krustojnis)

Image

Home team: Krustojnis SK
Capacity: 17’440

Located in Krustojnis, about an hour by car from Arcjuga International Airport and about 1.5 to 2 hours (depending on connections) on the nation’s main train line via Arcjuga Main Station, this is Kuraita’s most modern stadium as it was renovated only a few years ago with the sponsoring money of the SEMAK brewery. Locally still referred to as its old, sponsor-free name of Meżkas stadions (the forest stadium), the SEMAK Arena is small but atmospheric, and Kuraita’s biggest football-only stadium. It is located in an outskirt of the city, a bridge across from the city centre, and is connected to town with its own tram line 6, opened together with the stadium’s renovation.

Hosts games against: Gyatso-Kai, Polkopia, Omerica

Stadions Tomas Ozolinš (Auksturts)

Image

Home team: FK Auksturts
Capacity: 21’490 (national) / 16’910 (international)

Located in the far east of the country, in the hilly town of Auksturts, about two and a half hours by car (or four hours by train and coach) from Arcjuga Airport, this stadium has a reputation of fiery crowds despite its athletics track. Unfortunately, in order to comply with increased security regulations for international games, the stadium (which was constructed in the 1920s) will have to lose its rowdy standing section in the south end, which will be temporarily have restricted access to guarantee safety. Still, it likely rewards travellers with great atmosphere, and a convenient location in walking distance of Auksturts’ charming historic centre.

Hosts games against: Srednjaci, Natanians and Nosts, Maphidon

LANGUAGE NOTE

The Kuraitan language has a few diacritics that are relevant for pronunciation. Writing these is essential within Kuraita; however, in names, they can be left out in writing as a translation convention if you prefer. Here’s a quick reference collection of the ones present in this Kuraitan roster:

Č - pronounced as [tʃ]
Š - pronounced as [ʃ]
Ż - pronounced as [ʒ]

Sarzonia Stars

Note: Home kits have a primarily navy colour scheme; away kits are primarily white; keeper kits are green. Kits designed by Starblaydia

If my opponent RP's first, they have permission to do the following:
Style: 1.75
Formation: 4-4-2
Choose My Goalscorers: Y
Godmod Goalscoring Events: Y (stuff like deciding who scores a PK, who passes to whom and how the goal's scored is cool. Weird shit is not.)
Injure Players: N
Godmod Injury Events: N
Red Card Players: Y (no more than one more than you do for your own team)
Yellow Card Players: Y (same rule as red cards)
Godmod Other Events: N
Anything else, please TG me or find me on Discord.
=================================

Manager: Nathan Hanifer
The former manager of Sarzonia's Under 21 national team, Hanifer was the other finalist for the Stars managerial role. He assumed the assistancy at the request of Mentes and was named interim manager after Mentes was fired.
Assistant Manager: Eric Dent
Dent will serve as a de facto defensive coordinator for the Stars, and will work primarily with the defence and the defensive midfielders.
Assistant Manager: Brady Reynolds
Reynolds comes back to the Stars as an assistant manager after serving as a colour analyst. He played for the Stars from qualifying for World Cups 84-86 and World Cup 88.

HOME GROUND: Dave Wilson Stadium, Woodstock (105,690 capacity, natural grass field); alternate home ground i Joe Gibbs Stadium in Woodstock (75,900 capacity)

Roster (Starters in bold)

GOALKEEPERS
1 Carlton Sandt, 22, 6-foot-3, 215 pounds (Lakiska SC, Banijan Soccer League)
Sandt is the younger brother of legendary Stars goalkeeper Horace Sandt. He won the starting job for the Wanderers as a true freshman and led a previously downtrodden side to the national semifinals. He has catlike reflexes and is quick off his line. Can get too aggressive.
33 Trent Woodson, 27, 5-foot-11, 170 pounds (Saugerties Snakes)
Woodson becomes the backup while Paolo Gomes is recovering from a torn ACL. He has a decent mix of size and agility.
30 Paolo Gomes, 31, 5-foot-9, 165 pounds (Portland Timbers)
Gomes recently migrated to Sarzonia and earned a spot on the Stars national team with his quickness in the box. Plays a lot on instinct. Trying to come back after tearing an ACL during the opening match of World Cup 88 qualifying.

DEFENDERS
4 Charlie King, 28, 5-foot-11, 155 pounds (Saugerties Snakes)
King plays as a defensive-oriented fullback, often marking the opposing team's top striker. He relies more on positioning and reading his opponent's tendencies and body language to figure out where to run than on speed. He's not exactly a burner.
5 Tommy Benignati, 32, 6-foot-2, 200 pounds (Wilmington FC)
The older brother of Marco Beningnati, Tommy plays a much more rugged style than Marco does. Can play sweeper in a three-back lineup.
7 Matt Taylor, 27, 6-feet, 185 pounds (Burlington Browns)
Taylor's speed lends itself to being a fullback, but he plays halfback for the Browns. He has a tendency to struggle with more physical forwards and offensive midfielders.
6 John Taylor, 22, 5-foot-10, 175 pounds, Portsmouth University
The younger twin brother of Under 21 national team player Carlette Taylor, John plays a similar style to his sister's, although with much more speed.
18 Ben Russell, 33, 6-foot-1, 190 pounds, Rochester Renegades
In his first season as team captain of the Renegades, he led the team to a Sarzonian Football Confederation championship, resulting in the team's promotion to the Cyanea League. If he's on the pitch in the event Howard gets subbed for, he will don the captain's armband. He is a reserve halfback for the Stars.
22 Carmela Bowen, 30, 5-foot-8, 145 pounds, Woodstock Justice
Brown plays fullback for the Justice, a Sarzonian women's football team, and typically marks whomever the playmaking midfielder is. Her stamina earned her a spot on the national team.
44 Pat Meyers, 24, 5-foot-8, 152 pounds, unaffiliated
Meyers won a lawsuit against the Portland Timbers third division affiliate when the team dismissed them after successfully proving the club released them due to their gender non-conforming status

MIDFIELDERS
8 Ernie Mabree, 28, 5-foot-10, 175 pounds (FC Corcorran)
Mabree has one of the better left-booted shots in the Sarzonian league structure and is one of the fastest players in Sarzonia. He'll play an important role in Sarzonia's offence.
10 Clayton Wilson, 23, 5-foot-10, 170 pounds, (Woodstock Wild) Captain
A grandson of legendary Stars forward Brian Wilson and great-grandson of coach Dave Wilson, Clayton is not just a fourth generation star among the Stars, he served as the playmaker for the Under 21 Stars and is a sterling wing player on the Wild.
18 Carlos dos Santos, 27, 5-foot-11, 175 pounds (Woodstock Wild)
A right wing player, he will sometimes be called upon to take free kicks if Reynolds is unable to for some reason.
23 Jaxon Hennepin, 28, 5-foot-7, 155 pounds (Wilmington FC)
Hennepin earned a starting role as a playmaking midfielder for WIlmington, but also played half a season in defensive midfield when the team was beset with injuries.
30 Erik Swann, 25, 5-foot-11, 175 pounds (Portland Timbers)
Swann's strength is being a late-match offensive substitute who can score in a pinch.
14 Winnie Taunton, 27, 5-foot-9, 150 pounds
Taunton takes a majority of the penalties on the women's national team and produces blinding speed on the wings.

FORWARDS
21 Jake Campos, 23 6-foot-3, 210 pounds, (Portland Timbers)
Campos is a straight up target player in the front line. His leaping ability makes him a prime candidate for headers in the box off corner kicks and indirect free kicks. He played on the Junior Stars team that competed in the most recent AOCAF.
19 Holly Cambrio, 28, 5-foot-7, 145 pounds (Woodstock Justice)
Cambrio adds flair and ball movement skill and the ability to serve as a sparkplug off the bench, but would be a starter for a women's national team if that competition got resurrected.
41 Carly Wilcox, 22, 5-foot-11, 175 pounds (Woodstock Wild reserves)
Wilcox retained her place on the Wild's reserve squad and made eight appearances and six starts after her transition.
First WCC Grand Slam Champion
NSWC Hall of Fame Inductee (post-World Cup 25)
Former WLC President. He/him/his.

NOTES FOR XANNERIAN ROSTER

1.) I will be open too and to some extend encouraging towards letting you determine my starting lineup

2.) Allison Burnes, if she gets put on the starting lineup is 5'2" so dont expect her to go after headers, but she is a super talented player and will still wreck shop if given the chance

3.) The Levi siblings must either be on the field at the same time or not. There's rumors they have psychic connections with each other and the fact domestically they play well together when all three are on seems to collaborate this.

World Cup 91
Team Information

After two collapses early in major tournaments, the pressure has begun to mount against the administration of the National Team. Lu Jialan's contract would end after the cycle's completion, and if the qualifying campaign was too embarrassing, the Yuezhou born coach could be sacked early. The Federal Football Association continues to yearn for qualification, and objective improvements to the side in qualifying are necessary.

The side will have some new players, and totally new wears, on the road to world's biggest sporting event. A record thirteen players were selected for the side which either made their national team debut after the Campeonato Esportiva, or would enter the 91st World Cup totally uncapped at the senior level. Players were sourced from all over the world, in from multiple Rekan leagues.

For some, the world cup would be an opportunity to grow as a player, and for others the qualifying campaign would be a final chance to earn glory. Pobeda Zeta Reka!

Lineup & Tactics
Image

On Ball
  • Counter attack
  • High Tempo
  • Limit dribbles
  • Pass into space
  • Distribute to center backs
Off Ball
  • Press quickly
  • Force opponents wide
  • Harass defenders/Keeper
  • Keep back line solid

The Rekan National Team has begun to rely on a three man back line, with a midfield triangle and a pair of forwards. Two wing backs play dynamically across the pitch, while the remaining players look to solidly counter attacks. The side lines up with a center back trio. Two defenders are geared to stop attacking play, while the other is a ball passer who more often plays up the line. One midfielder is a destructive force and a ball winner at times. A second midfielder will move up and down. This second player will always be in a place to help methodically. The final midfielder is optimally a creative scoring threat. Wing backs are employed and will need to cover a large amount of ground each game. Up front are two forwards who play to score. A brute usually plays in one of the roles with a quicker player in the unoccupied position.

The side is focused on solidity. In a pinch, the midfield can turn into a double pivot. Teams will be forced wide on their attacks, freeing up more space in the middle. The front duo will be expected to contribute defensively. Countries with or without talented back lines are to be pressured into distributing long. In transition the Rekans will use counter attacks and capitalize on opposition weakness. If they can’t score right away, the Rekans will work with a high tempo, pass into space, and try to move into the penalty box. Keepers with the ball are recommended to look for the center backs. Backs themselves can either swiftly pass away to a safe option, or pass to ball playing center half.
Set Piece Takers
  • Corners: Djordjewić (L), Igorić (R), Rawić (L), Rekawić (R)
  • Free kicks: Rawić, Rekawić, Gabrielstein
  • Penalties*: Rawić, Ulrich, Rekawić, Scwartzhammer, Igorić, Djordjewić, Branić, Gabrielstein, Iwanić, Mauer, Wukowić
*Unless noted otherwise, midfield and forward substitutes shuffled in the queue around fifth. Defending substitutes are to be placed in front of the keeper.
The wingbacks each have solid cornering skills, which will help the side. Neither will compare to former NT player Jad, who was perhaps the greatest corner taker in Rekan history, but both will provide accurate plays. Before the tournament it was unknown what tactics the Rekans would use when taking corners, but the side was in times past a head on side lobbing balls into the box. Two technical players, and a hard nosed center back are the free kick takers. With three different options for playmaking and direct attacking, free kicks are a dead ball situation which Rekans can take advantage of. Another set piece of importance, penalties, sees players with good numbers given priority.

When defending corners, the Rekans employ a complex system. Five players near the keeper will be kept back to zonally defend. An extra player is assigned the near post, while the far post is in the purview of a zonal defender. Any diminutive strikers are assigned to wait for a breakaway pass. The remaining players are given marking duties against the most dangerous players. No dead ball breakaway goals were reported in Rekan friendlies or the Campeonato Esportiva.
Stadiums

Stadion @ The Zeta Reka National Sports Complex
Capacity: 52,000
Location: Aleiusia, Glavni
Tenants: Zeta Reka National Team (Various), Aleiusia Capital (Football), DD Aleiusia (Football), Republic's Cup Finals (22x), Super Cup of Champions Final (1x), Kožalopta Cup Finals (6x), Rekan Athletic Championships (38x)

The Zeta Reka National Sports Complex is equipped with an athletics track around the perimeter of the pitch. The government owned complex is from times gone by and has been renovated many times over the years The complex continues to serve as the venue for National Team games, two clubs, and multiple domestic cup finals. The main stadium has a capacity of fifty two thousand. The arena has a running track, a retractable fabric roof, Zeta Reka's largest video screen, and a bevy of luxury and press boxes. In addition to the main stadium, the sports complex includes a nearby second pitch, an indoor arena and a baseball diamond.
Matches:
Valladares (Match Two)
Squidroidia (Match Eight)
Drawkland (Match Fourteen)
Audioslavia (Match Sixteen)
The Sarian (Match Twenty Two)

The stadium complex is located in the capital city of Aleiusia and is just three kilometers away from the International Airport of Aleiusia (IAA). Glavni Woz, the capital district's rail provider, facilitates transport to the Complex via the underground transit system. Visitors are advised not to miss their stop at the aptly named "Sports Complex" station. The Green Line takes a long time to come back around, but is scenic. The federally organized rail system also has a station within walking distance of the stadium.

Winkle-Industrija Stadion
Capacity: 28,500
Location: Matov-Uri, Ogroven, Zeta Reka
Tenants: VZRH Matov-Uri (various sports), Kožalopta Cup Finals (12x)
Matov-Uri is the location of Ogroven's highest capacity stadium. The stadium itself is located on the western third of the city. The location has been the traditional homestead of former army works club VZRH Matov-Uri. The city itself was pre made by former Rekan socialist leader Jawo Matov-Uri, who was leader for twenty five years. His pre-planned city was the nation's capital until after the end of socialism, and remains the second most populated in the nation, though just barely.
Matches:
Soldera (Match Six)
Togonistan (Match Eighteen)
StrayaRoos (Match Twenty)

Winkle-Industrija Stadion was built not too long after the beginning of professional football, and has had one renovation a decade ago. The facilities are comparatively poor when compared to the bigger National Sports Complex. The stadium is an all-seater with a square complexion. Fans are well protected from the elements, though players may face Matov-Uri's rain. Match goers are also welcome to the city's spicy grilled food, provided at food stands voted Tastiest In The Country ten years running in a RekanSport survey.

15 Jul Stadion
Capacity: 25,650
Location: Ogradjena Brana Okrug, Hügeltaldom
Tenants: Patriotski Atletski Klub (Kožalopta/Football), Sanford Der Berg PREMIER FK (Football), Kožalopta Cup Finals (3x)

Located near the city of Stassengrade, the 15 Jul's name comes from a historic date for the locals. Rekan and Hügeltalian negotiators finished their formal treaty establishing Stassengrade and nearby areas as a free state. The centuries long distinction lasted until the socialist era, and is a part of the land's enduring culture. In present time, the date July 15th lives in on in 15 Jul's classical facade built to look like a medieval Hügeltalian cathedral.
Matches:
StrayaRoos Barrier Islands (Match Four)
Bendicion (Match Ten)

15 Jul Stadion as a destination is a well kept but century old stadium with a curved bowl appearance. The north and south curves are named after statesmen from the city, and seat the lion's share of hardcore fans. Most football fanatics sit along the east and western stands. While this stadium is only the second largest by capacity in Hügeltaldom, it is much lower in elevation compared to larger Rudarstvo Korporacija Stadion in Platinatigrade.
Kits
Image
Image
The newest kits for the Rekan national team were provided by Čast. The largest sportswear manufacture headquartered in Zeta Reka, Čast’s lead designers promote a new look for the Rekan team. The yellow and red colors have been preserved, but with the home side employing a majority black outfit. The away jerseys look like Rekan outfits of old, with a more golden than normal yellow combined with white and a hint of red. Lead designer Friedrich Fuhrman spoke of the change in a press scrum, “The Rekan team is beginning to enter a new era," Fuhrman said before paraphrasing the company's official line, "We at Čast read the direction of the sport, and felt it was time for a new era.”

Hers mother was a handball player, today she is a coach and hers father was a football player and today he coaches a football club in which Danijela , NK Bistua Nuova, is also. Bistua Nuova won the DR Srednjaci championship in the women's competition and currently has no relevant opponent in the league. Danijela is adorned with great technique and speed, she often takes corners but also uses hers speed to penetrate to the attack.Last season Danijela signed to Mladost Melarit and won second place in the league.
She won bronze medal in World Women's Cup in Sarzonia.

CB Ivan Kušić - 27 y - NK Dinamo Katanija
Ivan Kušić ,186 cm and 75 kg, was born in the small town of Plava Laguna near Melarit. He made his first football steps in NK Plava Laguna. In high school he moved to Melarit to study. There he started playing for the home club, Mladost Melarit. With his games as an 18-year-old, she attracted the attention of major clubs and signed a contract with Dinamo Katanija. He won the championship and the cup with that club. Great pillar of the club's defense, with an overview of the game. He is strong in duels, fast, but his technique is also great.
He have 66 appearance in main line up.

CB Franko Rušković - 28 y - NK Mladost Melarit - Captain
Franko Rušković, 188 cm and 78 kg, an insurmountable pillar of defense. A very intelligent player with incredible agility and endurance. Strong and corpulent, they won duels in 92% of cases. He started playing football at the age of 10, before football he tried volleyball and tennis. He stayed in football and led his club NK Mladost Melarit to the second position in the league, but also to winning the cup. He was named the best football player in the league for last season, but also the best defensive player in the league. He have 67 appearance in main line up. As a captain he have 59 appearance .

RB Zoran Šutić - 26 y - NK Torpedo Melarit
Zoran Šutić, 183 cm and 70 kg, he was born in the town of Kula. Despite his club fighting not to drop out of the league, Zoran is one of the bright spots of the drowning club. Zoran was brilliant in his position and Archer Kula will probably be left without its best player. There is talk of negotiations with Torpedo Melarit, a team that entered the first league from the second league.
Zoran improve his stamina and techniqe since last WC appearance. He have a 57 appearances for national team.
Šutić signed to NK Torpedo Melarit in last season.

CDM Heong Min Ho - 26 y- NK Dinamo Katanija
An amazing player, fast and always in the right place. The accuracy in the passes is amazing and the technique is amazing. He was born in Katanija and started playing football at the age of six. From the beginning, he was Dinamo Katanija and with that club he is the champion of DR Srednjaci. He is 178 cm tall and weighs 68 kg.
Amazing player on this position. Min Ho have 63 appearances for national team.

LW Davida Zimmer - 25 y - ŽNK Dormatisi Blue Stars
Davida Zimmer , 176 cm and 66 kg, a fast football player who creates problems on the left wing. A great football player who is an unsolvable enigma in the league. She was named the best football player in that position and she deserved an invitation to the national team with great statistics. 22 goals in the season, 18 assists and an accuracy of 87%. The speed in the sprint is amazing, 80 meters ran in 10.24 seconds. It has an excellent and precise shot from the edge of 16 meters and it is the most dangerous. Last season she have signed to Blue Stars of Dormatisi and emidietly won women's Championship.
Davida won bronze medal with women’s national team on WC in Sarzonia.

RW Takanobu Tavano - 24 y- NK Dinamo Katanija
The best player in that position and probably the best player in the league ever. The ceiling is 177 cm high and weighs 67 kilograms. Probably a fast player on the right wing is simply unstoppable. Because of his speed and technique, two players run into him in defense and sometimes three. This creates a surplus on the field and is very dangerous there. With one move he is able to add the ball with incredible precision. Its market price is dizzying. In the cup against Lokomotiva Raduč, a club from the second league, Tavano scored an incredible 6 goals. With Dinamo Katanija he is the league champion and he scored 20 goals and gave 33 assists.
Tavano have 65 appearences for national team. He is in relationship with tennis star Tena Špiričić, they are one of the most poluar celebrity pair in country with huge army of fans.

CF Ante Tomljanović - 26 y - NK Čelik Raduč
Tomljanović is a unique player. He plays as an offensive midfielder, central foreward but can also play as a striker. A player who has almost everything. He is 182 cm tall, which is quite high for his position. But he is very agile, strong and technically great. He scored the most goals with his head from the corner, he can jump high and the defenders who should guard him are usually lower than him.

ST Isidor Matković - 25 y - NK Torpedo Melarit
Isidor Matković, 183 cm and 79 kg , the absolute star of the league. Torpedo Melarit entered the first from the second league and Matković is their best player, the club's top scorer, the top scorer of the second league and a player who has incredible skills. His sense of goal is the most pronounced of all the players in DR Srednjaci. Incredible shot, strong and technically refined. His turn and sprint are famous. It is difficult to keep him because he is constantly on the move and in addition to goals, he is often an assistant. He is the most talented player in the league and he will surely lead the battle with Tavano to be the best player in the league. Top scorer of national team on Baptism of Fire tournament, World Cup qualifikations and both IAC tournaments.

ST Li Peng - 27 y - NK Dinamo Katanija
Li Peng , 181 cm and 78 kg , the best striker of his club. He led NK Dinamo to win the championship. Last season he came in to Dinamo Katanija and singned three year contract. Li was best scorer of club and second scorer in whole league. With NK Mladost Melarit Li have won national cup and with Dinamo he have won championship.

TEAM STARS TO WATCH :
Blanka Štošić :Blanka played in the club Pionir Podgora. The club competed in the second women's league in Srednjaci. With her great performances, she drew the attention of a much welthyer and bigger club, Slavonija Banka from the same city.
She soon became the best player of the club with which she won third place in the league.

Sunara Bjelova : Sunara is the top scorer in the first league and the best player of NK Kotiga. With NK Kotiga, she won the championship and the cup of the country. She has already received offers from much bigger clubs from abroad, and Kotiga will certainly not be able to keep this amazing player.

Manager
Didrik Gjedrem
Age: 57
It appears that there was but a single bad cycle of results from the mastermind as Didrik was able to guide the Marauders to semifinal appearances in both the World Cup as well as the AOCAF last cycle, while also only being defeated once in the Eagle's Cup in the leadup to the Qualifiers. While the team at the Eagle's Cup was not able to advance out of the group, they performed much better than even times that they have advance and give hope that Didrik has figured it out fully and can have the Marauders truly in the hunt for the elusive sixth World Cup title they have been trying to capture for half a century.

Assistant Manager
Kasper Volheim
Age: 44
After a successful trial run with the recently reinstated U21 national team, Volheim was appointed the assistant manager for the senior team as well with the number of youth players that are in the team and pool at large. Having shown to have the capabilities of managing them at Raynor City United's youth team and being a good go between as an assistant in the Di Bradini Cup, Volheim looks to keep up the success rate at the senior level, helping lead the team to end its trophy drought in the regional championship.

Keepers
GK: Julius Miljeteig, age 36, Cednia Beach AFC Image
GK: Isak Helland, age 31, Aleiusia Capital Image
GK: Ulrik Johnsen, age 22, Hondo FC
GK: Günter Obermaier, age 26, Ulsa Image
GK: Mario Unger, age 28, SC Rinaldi
The position of keeper is one that is important but the Marauders have often been content with merely having someone who makes the saves that they are supposed to, which is exactly what Miljeteig has done for club and country. There is signs of age slowly catching up to Julius, with Helland looking to pounce at any moment where the decrease is too much for the managerial staff to deal with, having played exceptionally well since their move from Rolalas to Aleiusia. Obermaier is touted as the next starter for Ulsa, which should mean he is ready for international callups, although Johnsen just had a season to remember as a twenty year old at Hondo, a team normally known for being explosive on the offensive end and leaky on the defensive side. Last but not least is Unger, who did what was expected and required for them at Rinaldi, but there is much belief that the Gunner's defensive record was more a result of the talented defenders ahead of him rather than his own skill, being highly doubtful for the plane to the Finals if the Marauders were to qualify.

Defenders
CB: Vårin Løvland, age 31, Mar Sara FC (F)
R/CB: Ralph Winter, age 26, Kitara AA Image
CB: Ulrike Kluge, age 31, SC Rinaldi (F)
CB: Armin Freihof, age 26, SW Stahlberg Image
CB: Claudia Moench, age 28, Raynor City United (F)
CB: Samira Lindström, age 21, Raynor City United (F)
LRCB Pierre Wisniewski, age 26, Herzegovina City FC Image
L/CB Karoline Wellenbrink, age 26, Raynor City United (F)
RB/RW Gudrun Bißmeier, age 26, Crystal Fair HC Image
Defending as a Vanorian is something that need be taught rather than something that comes natural, as the footballing culture of the nation is to play on the attack or at least control the possession of the game to dictate how it is played. Thankfully Vanorian players are usually quick and eager to learn, giving the Marauders a solid enough corps on the defensive side. Winter is perhaps the key piece to the defense, having won numerous top level trophies in their stay at KAA and with the physical presence to be an enforcer if needed. Løvland is a play playing defender who is a tad undersize but her play in the Premiership shows she is far more than capable of dealing with talented attackers with ease despite her diminutive stature (for a defender). Kluge is a pacy defender who can get forward when needed or track back to cover, though also a tad undersized at five ten. Moench and Freihof are both solid options off the bench with a proven track record, as is Wellenrink and Bißmeier should the side decide to go for a four at the back system. Meanwhile Pierre Wisniewski is a utility belt in the defense but is more comfortable on the left than center, while Lindström has the raw talent to start but is only a rotation option at United, though we imagine she will soon be starting for both club and country with her raw skill.

Midfielders
LW: Indra Söderström, age 26, Brinemouth Image (F)
LW: Jaimes Ybarra, age 31, FC Capri
LW: Maria Zimmer, age 30, Hondo FC (F)
D/MC: Gideon Riemann, age 26, AS Bezieres Image
MC: Götz Konstantin, age 26, Bastion Image
MC: Otto Lyecht, age 27, Soldarian FC
MC: Selim Estrada Barrientos, age 23, Raynor City United
CB/DMC: Matthias Lieven, age 26, Stahlburg City Image
A/MC: Heike Schoß, age 26, Jinja City FC Image (F)
AMC/ST: Laborious Hawk, age 754, Bastion Image
AMC/ST: Christiane Gröbe, age 26, Bakermouth Image (F)
AMC: Marco Grunewald, age 31, Raynor City United
L/RW: Pánfilo Veliz, age 33, FC Capri
AMLR Miriam Troegner, age 26, Kingsgrove Image (F)
RW: Joacim Lind, age 24, Soldarian FC
While the strikers might get all the glory, it is the strength of a well talented and drilled midfield that the Marauders are able to win their matches, though that is probably in large part thanks to the masterful talent that is Laborious Hawk at the attacking midfielder position. Hawk could probably play anywhere in the midfield or attack but has always slotted in neatly as that link between the midfield and strikers, able to distribute or take the chances himself. Veliz on the right is an aging star, most noted for being the first player born in Sabine and Caddonia to make the national team, although his superb crossing and dribbling makes him still a viable starter on the wing even if he is not likely to be able to track back on defense. Söderström has stiff competition on the left from Ybarra and the two will likely split starts, both exceptional wingers, though Indra is the younger with a bit more pep her in her step, though Ybarra is quite capable in his own right. In the center of the park Riemann is a destroyer through and through, able to drop into a more anchor position when called upon, allowing Schoß to play in a more playmaking role. The depth in the midfield is first class and there is not much of a drop off when substitutions or rotation is made from game to game, demonstrating the clear importance and strength in the middle of the park for the Marauders.

Forwards
ST/LW: Lothas Ludwig, age 26, FC Felsenkirchen 1879 Image
ST: Jutta Palminger, age 25, FC Capri (F)
ST: Torsten Hahn, age 24, Soldarian FC
ST: Elias Hammer, age 27, Lonngeylin Coast Image
ST: Taina Vääräniemi, age 24, Dí Maozöxê Image (F)
ST: Hadi Lundström, age 24, Raynor City United (F)
At the top it is the Ludwig show, not that he has the ego to claim it, but he is one of the best strikers in all of the game right now with a brilliant mix of pace, power, and precision to make him a deadly finisher up front. Scoring goals for fun at Felsenkirchen and at very important intervals for the national team, he alongside Hawk are probably the only two names you could pen into any starting eleven on any given matchday. Palminger currently has the position of starting alongside him, being an unusual target forward type build after a late growth spurt, though she is deceptively quick for her size. Behind them are four strikers who all play at an big club and as at least rotational starters with goals in them, not much separating the four from one another, though all are quite some ways behind Ludwig in sheer ability as a striker.

Home Away Third
Modifier: +1

Manager: Image Kurtis Rakeruth, age 51
Assistant: Jürgen Eisenhower, age 42

Home Stadium: Stade de Torgos (90,000)

Goalkeepers
GK: Borka Szekeres, age 33, CA Paulinthal (F)
GK: Dalma Kollár, age 25, Tanrısal (F)
GK: Szescõ Mezei, age 31, Hellinic Rouge
GK: Lukáš Hanzelka, age 22, Duke of the North
GK: Tomáš Přibyl, age 25, Royal Jam FC Image

Right when it seemed Mezei was going to be stuck with the second shirt, he had a phenomenal season with Hellinic to lead the Spartans to the SuperLiga crown and performed most admirably for the Wanderers at the Copa Rushmori, leading them to a quarterfinal appearance with a few clean sheets along the way. Szekeres and Kollár both had sub optimal seasons with their respective clubs, although not all the goals they conceded were their own fault, still to get the number one shirt you are expected to make the saves that sometimes you are not supposed to and neither did that remarkably well during the past domestic season. However the newest keeper from Duke of the North did at at the tender age of twenty-one, as Hanzelka has transitioned from the Young Wanderers to the senior team with that domestic performance, although does look to be on the outside looking in, as Přibyl had another remarkable season at Royal Jam even if the club was not up to the same standard as the keeper was throughout the season, battling hard for the third spot on the plane if the Wanderers qualify for the Finals.

Defenders
LB: Jakub Svatoš, age 25, Mar Sara FC Image
LW/LB: Rudy Yáñez, age 26, CA Paulinthal
LB: Lõrinc Vass, age 31, Hellinic Rouge
CB: Michel Sarrazin, age 27, Hellinic Rouge
CB: Fruzsina Budai, age 31, CA Paulinthal (F)
CB: Ompoly Erôss, age 27, Club Stein-los
CB: Mozes Szölôsi, age 25, Tanrısal
CB: Vidor Kovách, age 25, Duke of the North
CB: René Petrie, age 26, Duke of the North
RB: Veronika Fábián, age 23, Marque Image (F)
RB: Viktor Szôcs, age 25, Hellenic Rouge
RB: Andrija Hrvatin, age 27, Serrapince FC Image

There is a huge question mark at leftback for the Wanderers, not because there is no options but there is three options who all have legitimate claims to be the starting fullback. This cycle, Vass has the inside edge, if only just, despite his age as he helped man the defense of Hellinic that rode them all the way to the SuperLiga title, while Yáñez' CAP had to settle for second in the league. Surprisingly it will be the same pairing in the center of defense as it was last cycle, with Budai and Sarrazin having looked like quite the formidable partnership in both the last World Cup as well as the Copa Rushmori. At the rightback spot, there really is only one choice and that is worrying, as if Viktor Szôcs ever gets injured or hits a bad run of form, it will definitely spell trouble for the Wanderers, although Hrvatin is allegedly doing quite well in Tumbra but the domestic league there is not quite up to the same level of competitiveness and talent as the SuperLiga and other top leagues that Pasargan players typically who make the national team typically ply their trade at.

Midfielders

RW: Katinka Pálffy, age 25, Tanrısal (F)
RW: Nándor Slots, age 30, FK Metropola Borograd Image
LW/RW: László Petô, age 25, Fligsive FC Image
AMC: Ilona Kárpáty, age 24, CA Paulinthal (F)
A/MC: Márió Szölösi, age 31, Ulsa Image
MC: Michael Baer, age 25, 1896 Ebor Image
D/MC: Csongor Sebeôk, age 25, Hellinic Rouge
MC: Ugor Gyôrffy, age 30, Damogran FC Image
D/MC: Ubul Kuruc, age 29, Kitara AA Image
LW: Vojmil Topić, age 27, CA Paulinthal
LW: Erzebet Révész, age 26, AFC Treason Image (F)
LW: Asztrik Biró, age 20, Mâ Âlâmëómë Image

It feels much the same for the midfield as it was last roster, with not a lot of change, but a little that will hopefully help with the depth and dealing with the sort of squad rotation that will be needed for the Wanderersto adequately deal with the rigors of the Finals, which they failed to do last cycle. Let's start with Asztrik Biró, who at the tender age of twenty has started the last three seasons for Mâ Âlâmëómë, you know the club that just happened to steamroll two seasons in a row in the alleged best league in the sport. His problem is that he plays left wing, a position that is stacked full of talent, including the generational talent that is Vojmil Topić at CAP. Michael Baer comes in as a rotational option, having played well in Mytanija, but still likely to be third choice for either of the center mid positions. Katinka Pálffy has the difficult position of trying to come in to replace a legend but a club rival, though she earns her way into the backup spot on the right, with Slots earning the starting position with having good campaigns with Metropola Borograd. While there has not been a lot of changes, it feels like the changes made have definitely made the squad better, at least in terms of quality in depth.

Strikers

LW/ST: Elek Salai, age 25, AC Izotz Zubia Image
AML/ST: Boriska Nagy, age 29, Spartangrad Image (F)
ST: Eustacio Corral Magana, age 25, CA Paulinthal
ST: Eduard Novaković, age 23, Tanrısal
ST: Najiyah Lubanah Mifsud, age 30, Stein-los Turkish (F)
ST: Mihály Bernát, age 30, Revolutionaires Image

The six strikers all have had bad bouts of inconsistency at times but they are all immensely talented and have not done enough to have been dropped from the pool. Salai has been the most consistent and in the best of form when called upon and that is perhaps why he was part of a big money bid from Izotz Zubia in Audioslavia and made the jump from Valanora to the northeast. Nagy and Bernát are competing not only at club level but also for the second starting spot, which Nagy retains for the time being with having helped Spartangrad to a Challengers Cup Final appearance. All three domestic based strikers have had good seasons and Magana is expected to be a starter for CAP in the upcoming season, likely giving them the inside track at the fourth spot in the event of a trip to the Finals.

Tactics

There are situations that people find themselves in that should be wonderful but turn out to be quite the horror story waiting to happen, which is what the PFA believes to have been the case with Rakeruth and their time in Sanford. Rakeruth's own biases as a manager bed in well with the traditional strong points of the Wanderers' tactical style, a strong core with good wing play that stretches out the defense, allowing talented strikers to finish off the maneuvers. It should be defensively sound and make use of the wealth of good to great talent that Pasarga has in the midfield and attack.

Football isn't a big thing in Ranoria (well, this version anyway) and frankly no one is expecting a huge run from this team. However, after back-to-back winning World Cup qualifying stages, we know this team can compete on the world stage, even if not as one of the toughest squads in the competition.

Key losses include strikers Tony Hamilton, and Dresden Crux, midfielders Rayko Grossman and Esther Simson, and defenders Michal Bier and Lioni Grendel. It was a known fact that World Cup 90 was the last shot for the original crew to be the primary group carrying this team to a World Cup Proper, and the time between Cups has seen several retirements and more players starting to lose a step. Hamilton and Grossman in particular were key, with both serving as long-time starters and Grossman in particular being on of the better players in Ranorian history.

Highly decorated gridiron kicker Barry Chlorid continues to be the centerpiece for the offense of this team, but there are plenty of new faces to add some novelty this go-round. First-time-starter defenders Sabra Sapharina and Andrew Parrish are players to watch, with both considered to have a high ceiling, but will their youth hurt the qualifying chances of a squad considered an underdog?

In other news, the team has made the decision to depart from the traditional nickname of Ranorian National Teams, "Krauts" in order to help distinguish themselves from those other squads. This has come with a uniform change and overall rebranding. The U21 Team - participating in the Di Bradini Cup - will be known as the Snow Cubs. The new color scheme in particular does not match the iconic crimson turf of Smith Field, but the NAAF is hoping to purchase new, blue turf for the field in the near future.

Located in Ranoria's capitol, Smith Field is used by the Ranorian lacrosse and association football national teams. It also serves as the home field of the NAAF's Richardson Revolt and Richardson's MLL squad. The iconic crimson turf is enough to make the stadium stand out in the eye of most viewers - and it's been a stronghold for a squad with modest success in the last few qualifying runs.

Barry Chlorid: Chlorid is a highly decorated gridiron kicker, but he only went to the fake football "dark side" in order to pay for school, and later to make the kind of money that he never could have touched otherwise. Regardless, he's here, and plans on also serving as Ranoria's World Bowl kicker once again next season, as the Baptism of Fire will allow him a bit more leeway to train. NSCF XX champ, World Bowl 42 & 43 champion, 8x all pro in the RFL, and he's been Ranoria's World Bowl kicker in all but one of the team's seasons. He was a two time all Ranorian in this sport in college and was a phenom in high school, despite playing two sports at both levels. Expect a fluid athlete. He doesn't quite have the experience of these other guys, as he plays gridiron domestically.

Felix Graf: Obviously larger for a soccer player, Graf is often asked why he's here, and not playing gridiron. He'd probably call you a meathead, but the guy has deceptive straight-line speed and obviously he's a physical presence on the field. Good chemistry with Chlorid after years of playing together on this stage.

Chris Jenkins: Chris Jenkins has long been a high-ceiling guy and he's really done well domestically in between World Cups 89 and 90 - he looks ready to show his stuff coming into the 91st edition of this competition.

Kris Reinhardt: Reinhardt's the top dog on this defense and in the country. She showed up and was used only sparingly in World Cup 87, but really upped her game after seeing and playing against the best competition she could go against, and has been starting since World Cup 88. She's more suited to playing center than wing, but can do either. One of the best players in Ranoria, 3x NAAF DPOY.

Vincent Emilia: A solid goalkeeper for the Revolt, he's got a few all pros under his belt at this point. Expect as good of play from him as you can expect from a Ranorian. General consensus is that while he's nowhere near the top of the world, he's good enough to play with anyone. That said, he's got Karsten Leonore, another solid prospect, breathing down his neck.

Sabra Sapharina: Sabra was the the second rated prospect in Ranoria going into 2029. After being picked up by the Richardson Revolt, a generally strong but championless team, she debuted on the internationals stage in DBC 52...a team that has infamously gone down as Ranoria's first winless team in international play. That said, in her two years of domestic play, she's 18-5-5 in the regular season, 2-2 in postseason games. Sabra's an electric talent likely looking to play abroad after this World Cup - any takers?

Andrew Parrish: Parrish is another first-cycle starter for this team. He's also one of the three players from Ranoria's Dietrich Dirks among the top 6 in the defenders depth chart. He, like Sapharina, played for the DBC 53 team, but the two don't always get along - he plays for the best team in Ranoria's NAAF, if you hadn't guessed. He's been 17-7-4 in the regular season, but 4-0 in postseason play with the two titles that come with that impressive mark.

CHARTISTANI NATIONAL TEAM
Squad for the 91st World Cup

About Chartistan

The Musicalistic Union of the Cities of Chartistan (Often just Chartistan) is a nation in the region of Sonnel. The capital city, Billboard, is where most of the residents live and work, and is also home to the main governing jurisdiction of the country. Other major cities include Official City, Gaon and Aria.

About the National Team

The Chartistani national team picture varies from week to week as do the Chartistani... Charts. The Chartistani NT was decided by this week's Chartistani Hot Chart, a 100 player index of the top players in Chartistan, the Bubbling Under Hot Chart, a 25 player index of up and comers, and whatever other chart we could find.

The main Chartistani home kit is purple with blue accents, while the away kit is mostly black.

Manager: Doctor Lucas Combbrush
A Musicville district citizen of Chartistan's largest city Billboard, Doctor Combbrush has been part of the Chartistani setup since day 1 as the manager of the national team, having the honor of being player-manager for the World Cup 89 qualifiers and Cup of Harmony 81. Whilst the Eagle's Cup results are still murky, his advancement from the Eagle's Select group has him getting high confidence as the World Cup 91 qualifiers pits him against stiff competition...

NEPHARA
World Ranking:
10th, or so
Preferred Formation: 4-2-3-1
Secondary Formation: 4-4-2 / 4-3-3
Style Modifier: -1
Home Stadium: The Farham Arena in Sabrefell is reserved for the biggest games, but Nephara is a large enough country that it spreads its matches across the nation.
Kit Supplier: Kirola
Nickname: The Cormorants

Seven years of Golden Age, and now a seven-year hangover. Hard to complain about cards like that - three regional titles, three World Cup finals and one championship don't turn up every day, and by now Nephara have the heaviest silverware cabinet of any nation in the multiverse - but under Elaine Koeller, it's time to turn things around. Taking a more structured, physical approach, the aim is to re-entrench the Cormorants as a powerhouse of the current game. Things change fast, and the struggle to stay relevant never ends.

Nephara sailed through qualifying early on, most of their dropped games coming in a late run of poor form, though often with a liberally rotated squad. Injuries to Ophelia Schrader and Latona Basilisk are concerning, though; August Kovac and Felixe Vetiver have been called up in their place.

Overall Record
643 wins - 124 draws - 146 losses
2144 scored - 1082 conceded

Eagle's Cup 5
4 Cope Rushmori - 30, 35, 36, 37
5 Campionati Esportiva - 6, 8, 10, 15 and 18
Only the second nation in history to achieve the 'Triple Crown' of WCC titles - represented by three stars on the crest.
The most major silverware of any nation.
Second in footballing ability only to 6PupperFunnerRunnies.

Tactics
Image
Nepharan football is based around playing hard, pressing aggressively, playing for keeps. Occasionally this leaves gaps behind the high defensive line, though most Nepharan goalkeepers are in the sweeping mould these days to compensate. Marchers are, by and large, a physically imposing folk, and eager to throw their size around. The footballing culture is intensely competitive, and those that survive to make their way to the top are hellbent on winning at any cost. Elbows to the face. Subtle digs in the ribs. Diving is dishonest when opponents do it but streetwise when Nepharim do it. In short, Nephara are the bully from two years above who picked you, specifically, out as a natural target.

That is often the foreign perspective, but it overlooks a key fact; Nepharan football can honestly be beautiful to watch. Generations of players brought up on dry plains or asphalt play the ball quickly and fearlessly along the ground, never sideways when there's a forward option open, always looking to stretch and probe and stay one really good pass away from a goal. Nepharim are undoubtedly physical, even cynical, but their success has been built off the backs of ruthless, fast-paced passing football.

The Godhead
For home matches, and during international tournaments, Nephara wheels out the 'Godhead', a giant boulder with an eerie resemblance to Gethin Ramsey, first manager of the Cormorants in the modern era and by now long dead. Nepharim have a superstitious streak, and while nobody's saying it is, in fact, the mystic reincarnation of their most iconic leader, nobody's quite not saying it, either. The Godhead is traditionally 'walked' to the stadium by Nepharan ultras using an intricate series of ropes, and often a flare is wedged into its 'mouth' to simulate a smoking cigar.

Staff
Manager - Elaine Koeller - Age 56
Assistant Manager - Scylla Vyntra - Age 48
Ambitious, tempestuous and self-assured, Elaine Koeller is the kind of person who thinks benevolent dictatorship would be perfectly viable if it was only her in charge. A goalkeeper in her playing days, she favours a high-tempo, aggressive pressing style that has achieved results at every club she's been at, and is convinced that she can drill it into the national team, given enough overtime on the training grounds. She has no time for disseidence and aims to create a tight-knit, resilient team culture. Remaining in situ from Ramsey's tenure, Scylla Vyntra is a former World Champion, and an experienced assistant manager with designs on a top job, somewhere. Why not here?

Goalkeepers
Core
1 - GK - Aranea Provost (Image Spartangrad) - Age 32 - 124 caps, 58 clean sheets
WC87 Champion
Many are tipped for the top, but Provost made it. A brilliant, spry goalkeeper, excelling in all aspects of the game but especially capable of magnificent, balletic saves, flicking balls around the post with iron wrists when they seemed impossible to reach. It's a good thing she's as skilled as she is, because her abrasive, fey personality stopped being cute in the Cormorants camp long ago.

12 - GK - Medusa Strand (Image Chromatik) - Age 24 - 10 caps, 3 clean sheets
A steady, focused personality, or perhaps no personality at all. Strand is a superb shot-stopper who did not let a few errors early in her career get her down, and the dividends have paid off. She's in the driving seat to become Nephara's next #1.

20 - GK - Tanith Arrowsmith (Image Dynamo Sjoedrhavn) - Age 28 - 16 caps, 6 clean sheets
An excellent shot-stopper whose skillset lends itself to high-pressing sides who need pacy sweeping and good distribution - just like the Cormorants. Her sole issue is that she tends to argue a lot with everyone around her. It's quickly forgiven and forgotten... on her end, at least. Nevertheless, Arrowsmith has done excellently in the Eagles Cup and has more than earned her place in the team.

Defenders
2 - RB - August Kovac (Image Aries Chariots) - Age 24 - 8 caps
A soft-spoken, tough-tackling defender, Kovac was one of those unassuming players you assume will plug quietly in the Zenith forever without ever quite getting capped. Turns out, though, that reliably coming up with 7/10 performances is just the ticket for an always-mercurial Nephara.

3 - LB - Radeka Lind (Image Jinja City FC) - Age 27 - 75 caps, 9 goals
WC87 Champion
Captain

Lind still looks somewhat coltish, but it belies her unerring eye for a challenge. It's Lind's unabashed love of taking the ball away from people that's her standout in a country that tends to like its fullbacks forward at every opportunity; Lind swings in a vicious cross, but her inherent caution is well-suited to the international game. By now, firmly established as one of the greatest defenders of the generation, and a universally respected captain.

5 - CB - Reniira Clevinger (Image Herzegovina City FC) - Age 30 - 108 caps, 19 goals
WC87 Champion
The first half-satyr - indeed, the first non-fullblooded human - to represent the national team, Clevinger essentially looks like a hulking 6'8" woman with blue skin and stubby, vestigial horns poking out of her scalp. Unsurprisingly, she's also the tallest person in Cormorants history. That's handy as a centre-half, and she's scored goals at the big tournaments. She's one of the first names on the teamsheet, but who gets to partner her?

6 - CB - Anaximander Scales (Image Brinemouth) - Age 23 - 27 caps, 1 goal
An absolutely massive, bruising defender, Scales' ability to bulldoze and bully forwards without ever quite fouling them is genuinely remarkable. He's not going to set any records for pace - most likely, he'd struggle to catch up to your average pitch invader - but with his effortless calm, maturity and gift for correct anticipation, there's hope that he might be the worthy central defensive partner Clevinger has been crying out for for years.

17 - RB - Tosca Meadows (Image Brinemouth) - Age 23 - 13 caps
A sharp and canny fullback. If anything, a little too smug and confident, but a loan spell in Quebec early in her career helped bring her back to earth. Nobody's ever questioned her professionalism or her ability, though, and she's worked tirelessly to improve all sides of her game.

18 - CB - Sven Copperhead (Image Crisisbless) - Age 24 - 15 caps, 1 goal
An earnest bruiser, Copperhead's massive but deceptively fast. He loves defending, getting stuck in and smashing people; a little impetuous for international level, perhaps, but if you need a man to stick his head in front of a shot, he's there.

22 - LB - Kyri Levering (Image Aries Chariots) - Age 23 - 18 caps, 3 goals
An absolutely electric fullback who loves racing forward with the wind in her sails. Is she quite at the highest level defensively? No, and she wouldn't pretend she is. But she's right up there with the best at opening up defences, intelligent overlapping runs and low, sweeping crosses that leave her fellow defenders no easy answers.

Midfielders
4 - HM - Demeter Constantine (Image Crisisbless) - Age 24 - 21 caps
Cool, composed, and with a resting bitch face the envy of a monitor lizard; Constantine's precisely the kind of measured, precise holding midfielder that any elite-level side wanting to retain the ball willl dream of. She isn't a dynamic player, and surface-level watchers will often overlook her. Any deeper look, though, spots that she's integral to the way the Cormorants want to play.

7 - RW - Kestrel Anharbour (Image Crisisbless) - Age 22 - 18 caps, 4 goals
Lightning-quick, two-footed and direct, Anharbour's not the most orthodox winger; she wants to use her physical and technical gifts to get inside fullbacks and cause damage. A cheerful sort who doesn't let much get her down, Anharbour just obviously really loves to play the game, and it shows and enriches her play.

8 - CM - Renate March (Image North Laithland) - Age 25 - 24 caps, 5 goals
March has risen up the ranks from the lower leagues. Any purely technical player at that level will get the legs hacked under them, so March had to learn not just to be better than those around her, but quicker, harder and nastier, too. She's taken these lessons to heart even as her career has blossomed.

11 - LW - Lili Marinca (Image Chromatik) - Age 27 - 30 caps, 10 goals
Tiny and boxy, Marinca's deft and two-footed and loves to make unpredictable jinking runs and long stints in possession. She's a natural fit for a dominant side, and Nephara want to dominate. What makes it worse for opposing defences is she won't stop bloody smiling. Her performances reliably put smiles on Nepharan faces, too.

13 - RW - Severine Reed (Image Raynor City United) - Age 29 - 82 caps, 29 goals
Elegant and refined, despite coming from Stahlburg, Reed's instantly recognisable from the intricate and connected vine tattoos linking both arms. She's also instantly recognisable from the absolutely vicious right-footed deliveries of crosses and shots. Her absence through injury sorely missed at World Cup 90, she's taken on a talismanic importance to the side.

14 - AM - Thalassa Fletcher (Image La Nueva Avenida) - Age 30 - 58 caps, 19 goals
No, not that Fletcher, the other Fletcher. Exene is the rags-to-riches story; Thalassa's got pedigree and is living up to it. Not as likable a person, not seen as a natural scrapper, but living in Farfadillis at times like these proves she's harder than given credit for. Statuesque, arrogant, and crisp on the ball. Fletcher never puts a foot wrong. It almost feels like she plays the game in stiletti.

15 - CM - Tamara Ulmer (Image Algolia SC) - Age 27 - 22 caps, 2 goals
Ulmer's everything but dynamic. Somewhat slow, even, but she more than makes up for it with her ability to read the game and drill pinpoint passes crossfield. A sensible player who sometimes produces moments of magic, but for the most part she just helps the side function that little bit better at everything.

16 - LW - Ana Crowcombe (Image Avenida Leal) - Age 23 - 15 caps, 5 goals
Originally trained as a striker, Crowcombe's stubborn refusal to grow above 5'2" made it inevitable she'd be shunted out to the wing. It proved inspired. Crowcombe is near impossible to peg down on the pitch through her quick wits, quicker feet and obscenely slippery movement. The only question marks concern her finishing and her mercurial state of mind, with reports from Farfadillis suggesting she goes through multiple mental breaks a year. It's probably fine.

19 - HM / CM - Cassander Southsea (Image Brinemouth) - Age 22 - 7 caps, 1 goal
An intelligent, metronomic midfielder with a dazzling passing range, but also an assertive tackler who can firmly wrest the ball off opponents while reliably not drawing the foul. Southsea can be pretty much anything you'd want out of either midfielder in a double pivot, far more than the water carrier his name seems to imply.

23 - AM - Lindse Kvasina (Image Istria City FC) - Age 25 - 31 caps, 9 goals
Kvasina's arrogant even by Nepharan standards, a diva reputation backed up by an ample supply of talent, guts and graft. She's hard work off the pitch, but at least she'll work hard on it. Even if she didn't, though, her natural poise on the ball and talent for improvisation would make up for it all. Poses far more of a risk off the pitch than on it.

Forwards
9 - ST - Davor Kurtishi (Image AFC Corvistone) - Age 27 - 14 caps, 6 goals
Kurtishi's always been an all-around athletic powerhouse, freakishly strong, fast and resilient, but it's only in recent years he's married it to a half-decent first touch and a reliable finishing eye. He's nowhere near world-class still, and isn't as good at hold-up play as some see his physical gifts and imagine, but has regardless become an effective goalscorer and supporting player.

10 - ST - Bravura Harper (Image Ulsa) - Age 24 - 38 caps, 22 goals
A brash, swaggering striker, Harper loves taking on first-time shots, and her hammer of a left boot ensures that isn't a waste of a chance. Backs herself to get on the scoresheet, sets herself high expectations, and reliably meets them. She's relentlessly single-minded in pursuit of perfection, and doesn't really have any interests outside football. But evaluated as a footballer, not a dinner companion, you won't find fault.

21 - ST - Felixe Vetiver (Image 1830 Cathair) - Age 19 - 3 caps, 2 goals
Vetiver is lightning-fast, entirely two-footed, ruthless in front of goal and absolutely fearless. She's got a fine first touch and links up play well, with intelligent, mature movement. She's stronger than she looks, though no powerhouse. Strong mentality, no serious issues off the pitch apart from a generally taciturn, cynical nature. And at just 19... it's safe to say Vetiver's a generational talent. Nepharim look at her and lick their lips, thinking of World Cups. Teenagers don't tend to break through in Nephara, getting eased into the team picture. Vetiver disagreed, and with an injury ruling Latona Basilisk out of the World Cup, fate's on her side.

Brenecia are at the highest point they've been since neglecting to renew Bralk-Xeral Erv's contract, regarded in hindsight as a massive error of judgement. Little was expected of current manager Derdriu Wright but she's managed to turn things around quickly... but surely there will be a limit to what she can accomplish, with what looks like a horribly thin lineup.

First Team and Tactics
Image
Raised on lumpy grass pitches, waterlogged and potholed, Brenecian footballers tend to grow physical, disciplined and tough to break down, and this iteration of the national pool is no exception. Yet, they lack out-and-out goal threat after the international retirement of professional egomaniac Lauren Cheney. Brenecia will not be prolific, aiming mostly to break teams down in the centre of the park and attack very directly, with long balls and hard running the norm. Byrne and Carpenter offer something a little different on the wings, natural Plan Bs, with overlapping fullbacks tasked to whip in crosses.

Staff
Manager - Derdriu Wright - Age 54
Asst. Manager - Hendry Jackson - Age 49

An intelligent, well-read and softly-spoken woman, Wright likes a slightly more open style of play than her predecessors, but recognises that Brenecia's talents lie largely towards the back and will play to those strengths. She has high standards of her players and has been accused in the past of burning them out; will this translate well to international football's short stints and high turnover, or will she be unable to get her ideas across? Few expect her to revolutionise the game, but she's seen as a safe and unambitious pair of hands for the medium-term.

Goalkeepers
1 - GK - Anthea Finnan (Image Holdenberg City) - Age 33 - 23 caps, 5 clean sheets
Endearingly twitchy, and quick on her feet. Finnan's rise has been thoroughly deserved, and she's overcome a number of career setbacks to put herself in the driver's seat as a successor to Wright. Inconsistent form during qualifiers has pegged her back in the pecking order, though.

12 - GK - Sorcha Tanner (Image Southern Star) - Age 28 - 16 caps, 7 clean sheets
A strong and well-balanced goalkeeper, commanding in the air and rarely erring. She's not a top-class goalkeeper, as Brenecia had become used to with Woodgate and Wright, but she's consistent.

20 - GK - Cairbre Dundalk (Image North Laithland) - Age 33 - 2 caps, 1 clean sheet
Despite being 5'8" - with all the weakness in the air that entails - Dundalk's made a name for himself as a brilliant reflex stopper who never lets errors get him down.

Defenders
2 - RB - Clovette Bravender (Image Ulsa) - Age 31 - 99 caps, 5 goals
Bravender's combination of blinding pace, limitless energy and enthusiastic slinging of crosses into the box were evident from the start; it's only in her mid-20s that she was able to match it with sharp and excellent defending at the other end, making her a superb generalist.

3 - LB - Ophelia Haywood (Image Lakewood United) - Age 30 - 5 caps
A stand-in fullback, here owing to an injury to Seeler.

5 - CB - Athelney Shrine (Image Falourr) - Age 26 - 21 caps
One of Brenecia's many rock-solid defenders, Shrine's about as fast a sprinter as an actual shrine. Fortunately, her instincts rarely guide her astray, and she's an oasis of calm no matter the pressure, both in and out of possession.

6 - CB - Casey Giltanan (Image Workers Union) - Age 30 - 106 caps, 5 goals
Giltanan's mixture of composure on the ball and bloody-mindedness off it have successfully papered over occasional lapses in concentration to make her a high-class centre-half, but those lapses have prevented her from quite cresting the heights some thought her capable of. Fairly or not, she is in some ways emblematic of this era of Brenecian football, despite her stellar service.

17 - RB - Felice Lovibond (Image Kingsgrove) - Age 29 - 19 caps, 1 goal
Lean, arrogant, promiscuous, heavily inked-up and outspoken on social media, Lovibond is a bit... shag, when it comes down to it. But she's from an affluent Rozelle old-money family, so perhaps it's some kind of a delinquent thing. She's an intelligent all-round fulback, more comfortable advancing the play than simply whipping a cross in.

18 - CB - Iucharba Killen (Image North Laithland) - Age 26 - 2 caps
A brutish powerhouse, Killen always lumbers a little faster than people expect. Kind of like a starving crocodile. It makes him an undeniably effective defender, though he does tend to give away a lot of penalties, and probably one of these days will end up scaring a midfielder to death.

22 - LB - Nimue Culpepper (Image Rozelle) - Age 24 - 4 caps
Culpepper looks strangely weathered, a lot older than her years, and perhaps that makes sense. Her best attributes are her sense of anticipation and her intelligence, which extend her fair-but-indifferent physicality and technique as far as they can go.

Midfielders
4 - HM - Skaidrina Briggs (Image Southern Star) - Age 24 - 10 caps
A tough, taciturn midfielder who has proven reliable where called upon. Tall, powerful and strong in the tackle, Briggs has a rash, youthful physicality and a tendency to see picking up a caution as indication of a job well done. Lacks the raw NRI of Schofield, but has had markedly more consistency in a blue shirt.

8 - CM - Iseult Conway (Image Northern Union) - Age 26 - 32 caps, 6 goals
Quick-witted, quick-footed, and always with a smile on her face. Conway is an unflashy but diligent box-to-box shuttler with a hint of the unpredictable, and excels at bringing the ball forward between the lines. Fouls a lot, and always seems to get away with it - though at club level, is that just because she plays for Union?

11 - AM - Lienke Covolan (Image Vermillion Rage) - Age 24 - 6 caps, 1 goal
Covolan played for Brenecia before ever setting foot in the country, but it's okay, because she's a potentially important player for the Patriots. A clever, two-footed and creative player, the rangy, arrogant, standoffish and blatantly Nepharan Covolan might be exactly what the Patriots have needed for years.

13 - AM - Consaidin Garrard (Image FK Metropola Borograd) - Age 27 - 39 caps, 11 goals
Athletic and versatile, Garrard burst onto the scene early, able to hold his own against fierce pressure. He's found his place in the squad as a highly mobile danger-man with a beautifully deft first touch, but able to press aggressively to win the ball, a natural fit for Fallon's concussive system.

19 - HM - Kurtis Mikoliunas (Image Mâ Âlâmëómë) - Age 27 - 17 caps
Mikoliunas must break you.

23 - CM - Rajmund Sitko (Image Rozelle) - Age 22 - Uncapped
One of the more promising of this upcoming generation of Brenecian talent, Sitko's not notably physical, but just has that quiet presence of mind and always goes looking for the ball. The kind of player analysts love and casuals don't see the point in and wonder why the team works better with him than without.

Forwards
7 - RW - Kendra Carpenter (Image Wirr Tsi) - Age 29 - 53 caps, 15 goals
A classy, elegant winger who has worked hard for every sniff of football she's had, and will take no chance for granted. Energetic and fearless, Carpenter won't feel the weight of that number 7; the kind of player who can leave Northern Union's comfortable nest and keep going from strength to strength.

9 - ST - Siobhan Baker (Image Alnio) - Age 26 - Uncapped
A late bolter into the squad, Baker was playing in the Nepharan third tier for much of her career before blazing into life in Chromatika.

10 - LW - Katua Byrne (Image KT Itzalovalle) - Age 23 - 47 caps, 19 goals
Byrne's got it all. Top-class pace, fully two-footed, even relishes defensive work pressing high. She's going to go far, and she knows it, forcing a move to Audioslavia to get away from pockmarked Brenecian pitches. The Patriots' top scorer in qualifying and very clearly, by now, the country's best attacking threat.

14 - ST - Danand Tristram (Image Kingsgrove) - Age 27 - 38 caps, 14 goals
A powerhouse up front, and a traditional target woman in a way that Brenecia haven't had since the underutilised Fox Charnwood. Tristram is the kind of relentless brawler that doesn't consider a game complete until her elbows have been in at least four faces. In a sense she's the ideal forward for the system, but she's developing a real reputation for missing the target.

15 - RW / LW - Maerhen Wake (Image 1830 Cathair) - Age 21 - Uncapped
A muscular powerhouse who bristles with coiled energy, menace and malice. Wake's not the best-liked in the dressing room - he's always come across a bit as the kind of man who laughs when old ladies fall over on the street - but he's a cold model professional who always looks to make an impact.

16 - LW - Sylvia Marusak (Image North Hall) - Age 23 - 1 cap
Marusak's very fast, and

21 - ST - Jadwiga Lofthouse (Image Northern Union) - Age 24 - 18 caps, 7 goals
Generally, when Union want a player, they just get one. So when a local rises through the ranks to break through, especially in a key position and at a young age, Brenecians take notice. A towering juggernaut, Lofthouse is certainly old-school but undeniably effective.

Summary
Kelssek's tactical culture is fluid and direct, generally favouring technical and versatile players. The team boasts a high-skilled and creative midfield with a threat from some top goalscoring talent. While not weaknesses per se, goalkeeping and central defence are areas where the team is pretty average.

Cathal Gallagher GK, FC Rotmunde 1932 [STL], b. Tête-Jaune, Konoha (age 32) - 65 caps | An agile, technically sound shot-stopper. Could do better in commanding his area and susceptible to getting bullied at corners.

Sébastian St-Gerlais GK, Eterna Stars [VLD], b. Beaujoire, BL (age 34) - 19 caps | Title-winning keeper for CF Outineau now exploring the wide world. Aggressively claims balls with total disregard for anyone, teammate or opponent, in his way.

Pietro Salinas GK, Marque [BRE], b. Burnaby, Kon. (age 28) - 0 caps | Things went horrifically wrong when he finally was thrust into the position of number one for Burnaby, but on simple ability he is still one of the best keepers with a Kelssek passport.

Cassie Mrythe GK, Star of Confederation, b. Neorvins, NFT (age 30) - 0 caps | A solid pair of gloves, vocal and commanding with her defence. SoC club captain.

Ryan Terlock GK, Holdenberg City [EUR], b. Wynleth, NC (age 23) - 0 caps | Potentially the Colm Ó Tuathail of goalkeeping, which makes no sense whatsoever but everyone says it because he's a promising talent from the same youth club.

Ashley Douglass D/M R, CF Outineau, b. Saint-Rémy, BL (age 30) - 85 caps, 9 goals | An attack-minded full back. Uses her dribbling ability to get forward and make runs into channels.

Nacuémiró Buené D/M L, Burnaby SC, b. records sketchy, Farfadillis (age 25) - 16 caps | Rising star full-back already with a Patriotes Cup and three-time league champion. A skill player with a great cross, defensively sound but prone to get bullied by bigger attackers.

Tim Bowler D L, Gladerial United [VAL], b. Newmarket, NC (age 32) - 109 caps, 5 goals | Galacticos longlisted solid defensive full-back who can hold up the ball and overlap well.

Ryan Dumont D L, Strathcona Internationals, b. Kirkenes, Noua Cymru (age 31) - 20 caps | Positionally sound, technically average, likes to take on his opponent. This occasionally has disastrous results.

Damien Halliger D C, Holdenburg City [EUR], b. Old Taunton, Noua Cymru (age 31) - 124 caps, 4 goals | Traditional stay-at-home hard-man central defender. Looks to establish dominance in the air.

Phillip Lozic D C, Jinlal Cove [VIL], b. Stawamus, Konoha (age 27) - 36 caps | Mobile, athletic central defender with a strong aerial presence.

Jean-Phillippe Auiloquet D C, CF Outineau, b. Outineau (age 31) - 7 caps | Hard to beat him in the air. Has nerves of titanium when it comes to playing the ball in his own penalty area.

Lily Marshall D C, Ulsa Rovers [EUR], b. Kirkenes, Noua Cymru (age 25) - 7 caps | Makes smart interceptions, and is better at playing the ball than tackling it, truth be told.

Joseline Fourtin D C, Felswyr [CMT], b. Neorvins (age 36) - 53 caps, 1 goal | Technically sound in the tackle, good positioning, average in the air.

Teadgh Brewer D C, Fiskadaha [PFA], b. Vickery (age 28) - 0 caps

Gabriel Farahani D R, Rockridge Phoenix [BRE], b. Novonaya, Lupinissa (age 32) - 47 caps, 2 goals | Athletic and determined defensive full-back, but doesn't offer much going forward.[/color]

Curtis Holman CB/RB, Gallant Cross [BRE], b. Langley, Kon. (age 27) - 0 caps

Issac Lafrenière M LC, Kionao Locals [TUR], b. Outineau, Beaulac (age 24) - 29 caps, 2 goal | Creative, flashy, can unlock the defence with incisive passing from deep, and drops like a rag doll if he thinks he can get a free kick.

Êsêkïl dí Völará M C, Crossroads [CMT], b. Farfadillis (age 25) - 13 caps | A deep-lying playmaker who relentlessly recycles possession and is hard to get around with the ball on the ground.

Raif Ducharne M C, Latrobe Athletic, b. Glen Eira, Etn. (age 30) - 5 caps | A real midfield general who has flourished in recent years, powering his club to the KFL title and bagging the Player of the Year award. Challengers Cup finalist.

Gabriel Lapierre M C,Trebuchet Cham [ZWZ], b. Laval, BL (age 32) - 127 caps, 30 goals | Exciting, creative midfielder and a potent attacking threat thanks to his ability to find passing lanes others don't. Former Taeshan Foreign Player of the Year and was named to the "Galacticos" shortlist as one of the world's 50-ish best players.

Émile Robin DM, Chalesm [SRS], b. Langlois, Beaulac (age 27) - 3 caps | Adept at stealing the ball off the toes of opponents, she reads the game well but her passing ability sometimes doesn't match her vision. "You can see what she was going for there" is often heard in this context.

Matts Bogdanor M C, Carsby [EUR], b. East Fallowfield, Etnier (age 28) - 54 caps, 2 goals | No-nonsense holding midfielder who can surprise with a 30-yard banger every once in a while.

Colm Ó Tuathail [captain] M L, Ulsa [EUR], b. Colwyn, Noua Cymru (age 32) - 97 caps, 20 goals | Made history as Kelssek's first-ever "Galactico", was allegedly the second-best left winger in the world in a season that saw him become a regular feature of the first 11 on one of Audioslavia's top clubs. A goalscoring threat who also has the acceleration and dribbling skill to give defences the literal run-around. With Shamrock Cathair, won one Audioslavian title and a couple of silver IFCF medals.

Bryan Hartpoach AM LR, Strathcona Internationals, b. Vickery, Conryia (age 26) - 14 caps, 2 goals | Quick, elusive, and technically adept. May wander into the middle sometimes. Often deployed as a wrong-footed right wing for the national team.

Amber Docherty M R, AC Olarria [ASG], b. Willsden Harbour, Haligonia (age 29) - 5 caps | Standard issue speedy winger with a decent cross. Coaches harp on her tendency to blindly drive passes across the box.

Miles Mann RW, Workers Union [EUR], b. Outineau, Blc. (age 24) - 0 caps

Jourdain Blanchette M LC, SW Stahlberg [STL], b. St-Richard, Beaulac (age 29) - 8 caps | A more defensive-minded option on the wing. Or maybe just painfully average going forward.

Pierre-Louis Laishram AM/F C, Clyde Park [TMB], b. Pont d'Or, Beaulac (age 26) - 2 caps | Determined, volatile, and ambitious, he moved abroad after burning some bridges at Océanic, the club he'd come up through the youth ranks with, after publically slamming the club for underperforming. A creative passer with excellent touch.

Loïc Maçon-Petrault ST, Directus [EUR], b. Saint-Rémy, BL (age 30) - 58 caps, 23 goals | An elusive and quick striker and noted jazz fan. A skilled forward who is able to dribble past his marker and paint the corners of the goal with the ball. Often looked to as the guy to get the team goals to dig out of any holes they've dug for themselves.

Shaheen Taleb [vice-captain] AM C/ST, Aries Chariots [NPH], b. Mineru, Konoha (age 31) - 117 caps, 43 goals | Deep-lying forward with a knack for a flick-on or a clever pass, yet also a canny shooter. Can freeze the defence with his excellent close control and is a highly composed finisher.

Thor Ibrahim Ahmad AM/F RC, Hornchurch [EUR], b. Outineau, Beaulac (age 26) - 16 caps, 5 goal | Once scored half the goals for CF Les Castors as they finished last in the Kelssek league, he's been making steady progress in Eura and could break through this year.

Danielle Maradrogba ST, Coret Hawks [NPH], b. Outineau, BL (age 25) - 15 caps, 7 goal | Power and placement is what you get when she gets an inch of space. An exciting, highly touted talent produced from the underdog hero Association Ariddienne club.

Seamus Wylten ST, Hondo FC [VAL], b. Brandon, Etnier (age 31) - 54 caps, 30 goals | The poacher's poacher. An instinctive and deadly finisher with a great sense of positioning.

Eva Karven ST, Honeybadgers [EUR], b. Kirkenes, NC (age 28) - 17 caps, 5 goal | Stormed onto the scene in the KFL Championship as the leading scorer for Kirkenes in her rookie season. A confidence player who can be inconsistent.

Roman Torshen ST, Norrion Rovers [EFL], b. Mistigwyn, NC (age 28) - 32 caps, 5 goals | Likes to sneak into the box as a late-arriving second wave attacker, he's also got a wicked shot from his right foot and likes to power them in. Middling movement and pace, relies on his bag of tricks to get past defenders.

Manager: Jorge Guardia | A naturalized Apox-born dual citizen, Guardia managed Oldem Mechanical, Exton F.C, Issington F.C and Azewyn Royals before he came to Kelssek and managed CS St-Rémy for eight years, winning the KFL62 and 63 league titles, the "deux glorieuses" for the club, but declining performances eventually saw him given the boot in rather controversial circumstances.

Honours: Cup of Harmony 43 champions, 2-time Ad'ihan Challenge Trophy winners
Direct free-kicks: Gabriel Lapierre
Corners: Colm Ó Tuathail (L), Ashley Douglass (R)
Penalties: Shaheen Taleb

Fan culture
Kelssek's national teams are nicknamed the Voyagers in reference to the fact that major international tournaments are practically always in a different region and many time zones away (unless Kelssek is hosting it, of course).
Maybe Tomorrow is common to all national teams:
Voyagers, they keep on calling me
Down the road, that's where I'll always be
Onward Kelssek, the shout from everyone
Step by step, fighting on, till glory's won
Maybe tomorrow, our journey will be done
Until tomorrow, we'll just keep movin' on

Tune: "Maybe Tomorrow" (Littlest Hobo theme song)

Summer of 46 is sport-specific, and references the hosting of World Cup 46, the watershed in soccer actually becoming popular in Kelssek.
Got my first real football
Played it on a plastic pitch
Rubber pellets went everywhere
It was the cycle of forty-six
Oh when I look back now
Thought that it would last forever
Those were the football glory days

Tune: Summer of '69

Stadiums
Qualifying matches will rotate between three stadiums. You may choose which one if you are the first to RP the match. If you're not bothered to pick, go with Kirkenes as a default.

Exhibition Place, Kirkenes (cap. 38,600)
Kirkenes is the biggest city in Kelssek, a huge and bustling multicultural metropolis. The city's character comes through in neighbourhoods like Little Ariddia, Bathurst Gardens, and Lancaster Hill. Fashionable boutiques and other opportunities for bourgeois consumerism are located in the Rosewood area. The 540-metre Panopti Tower is an iconic landmark, the St. Jude Market is a good stop for fine foods or a quick meal, Melbourne Square and Caron Street are where to go out, and the Museum of Global Civilization is pretty cool to learn about history and cultures and stuff. The Loyalist Fort National Historic Site is where the enemies of the revolution holed themselves up. The city also has a lively microbrewery scene. See also the street map, and the TComm Subway.

Stade de la Pacifique, Langlois (cap. 35,600) - The stadium is nestled in one of the hills of the "city of a thousand hills", also a charming, historic, incorrigably bourgeois, beautifully Instantgrammeable tourist hotspot.
Stadium of the Stars, Ulyanof (cap. 44,500) - A concrete modernist monstrosity seen as a soaring testament to progress and humanity when it was first built.

RP permissions
Choose my scorers: Yes
Choose my scoring events: Yes

Godmod events: No
In general, anything that can realistically happen (even if improbable) is fair game. Stuff that violates footballing reality is not ok (usually) and may be ignored. If you're in doubt, or think your idea is funny enough, ask me.
RP injuries to my players: Yes but I will determine severity

The Adabian National Football Team

Only the dead have seen the end of war.
-George Santayana

Demonym: Adabian (plural Adabians)
Association: Adab Football Association (AFA)

BACKGROUND
Transition is the key word as Adab prepare to build on their first appearance in the World Cup proper last edition. It is widely rumored, but not confirmed, that this World Cup run will be the last for several veteran members of the national team, including most notably the great Enlilbani Yargab. National team manager Saad Kaykali, who himself has been the subject of incessant retirement rumors, said only that certain players “have made their decision” with regards to their future and has consistently refused to reveal any more. In any case, a potential wave of retirements is of no great concern to Kaykali and his staff; there is a large number of younger players waiting in the wings. The future of Adabian football is bright.

KIT

The national team's kits, designed by Ahmad Enlil (the first President of the Football Association) in 1907, are currently manufactured by Shining Sun Company, owned by Rahman Ashurbanipal, businessman and grandson of Emperor Tizqar III.

Manager: Saad KAYKALI - Male – born January 20, 1974 (age 64)
At the peak of his power and popularity following Adab’s recent success on the international stage, some around Saad Kaykali have nevertheless noticed that the manager appears tired and worn out at times, which is not very surprising considering everything that has happened around him. But the idea of retirement has not been floated, at least not publicly. Kaykali insists he is “more than ready and excited to help carry this team forward and achieve even greater success”.

Assistant manager: Rashid ABBAS - Male – born February 15, 1987 (age 51)
Formerly a star player in the island country of Faraby, now an associated state of Adab, Abbas now finally finds himself sole assistant manager to Saad Kaykali. He is determined to do his best in this capacity, all the while refusing to discuss rumors that he has greater aspirations. Currently also manager of the under-21 team.

General coach: Yitzhak BENNETT - Male – born September 20, 1976 (age 62)
Variously described as quiet, active, calm, and attentive, Bennett is very much respected by the players, who admire his work ethic, loyalty to the national team, and willingness to listen to them.

Goalkeeping coach: Faishal AR-RASHID - Male – born August 14, 1978 (age 60)
Regarded, much like Bennett, as a stabilizing influence in the national team and respected by staff and players alike.

Physio: Hamza RIDHA - Male – born January 15, 1983 (age 55)
A longtime friend of Kaykali. Widely respected by fellow staff and players for the understated way by which he performs his job.

STARTING LINEUP
Note: I may reveal the starting lineup and substitutes for the next match(es) in my RPs. Should I not RP or should my RP not contain any information regarding the starting lineup and substitutes, then feel free to pick them yourself.

GK: 1 – Satchit CHANDRASEKAR – Male – born February 7, 2015 (age 23) – Colonial Sile (Vilita) – 0 goals
Chandrasekar has now firmly established himself as Adab’s best keeper and, if everything goes right, looks set to retain that status for many years to come. His calm, steady demeanor serves him well as the last line of defense against the team’s opponents.

LB: 2 – Tansu ALTUN - Female – born February 25, 2009 (age 29) - Mosul - 0 goals
Fondly called the "heart of the squad" by her teammates. Kind, polite, smiling, beautiful inside and out, she gets along easily with all the staff and players. Yet her soft exterior hides a hard, relentless, unyielding side to her, which shines through every time she is called to perform on the pitch.

CB: 3 – Shania ENMERKAR - Female – born January 20, 2008 (age 30) - Baghdad City - 0 goals (Vice Captain)
Widely seen as one of the leaders of the “female wave” in Adabian football, observers nevertheless agree that Enmerkar has earned her place in the team by merit, rather than merely by virtue of her gender. The other female players in the squad look up to her as their leader and spokeswoman, and it is she who often goes to Kaykali to communicate the women’s concerns and opinions.

CB: 4 – Yousif ISSOU - Male – born September 27, 2004 (age 34) - Adab United - 0 goals
A reliable defender, what he lacks in star power he makes up for in tenacity, a seemingly endless energy reserve, and impressive performance on the pitch day in and day out. Issou refuses to confirm or deny rumors that this will be his last World Cup run, only telling reporters that “I will have to see at the end of the season”.

RB: 5 – Nadia AL-MALIKI – Female – born October 15, 2011 (age 26) – Baghdad United – 0 goals
Baghdad United’s surprisingly strong performance in the Premier League last season earned her a call-up to the national team. Al-Maliki’s composure in defense has been widely praised and regarded as an instrumental part in United’s unexpected domestic success.

LM: 6 – Emma ARTHUR - Female – born November 18, 2012 (age 25) - Tihon (Chromatika) - 4 goals
A representative of the Anglo-Adabian community, the second-youngest member of the squad. Widely seen as a young prodigy before maturing into one of Adab’s best midfielders. Estranged from her family, traumatized and haunted by what had happened to her and Alulim Sinmuballit, she shocked many by handing in a transfer request upon the conclusion of the last World Cup, stating publicly that she wanted to “go away to another country”, but nevertheless confirming that she would continue to play for the national team.

CM: 18 – Naram-Sin SAMANU – Male – born March 29, 2018 (age 20) – Baghdad United – 0 goals
Commands a huge presence at midfield, especially for his age. A key part of Baghdad United’s recent domestic success, he is tipped to be a future star midfielder in the Adabian league and for the senior national team.

RM: 8 – Ephraim ORLEV - Male – born April 18, 1999 (age 39) - Mosul – 8 goals
A veteran from World Cup 81, Orlev remains an integral part of the squad who can be relied upon to drive forward the team’s hallmark counterattacks. He was reportedly uncomfortable with what he perceived to be his status as the team’s token Jew, although this was assuaged by the arrival of Rebekah Yissakar.

LAM/LW: 22 – Kastiliasu AKAPTAHA – Male – born March 27, 2014 (age 24) – Baghdad City – 38 goals
Already widely acclaimed as one of the finest strikers in Adabian football, Akaptaha is expected to lead the offense for many years to come, standing at the forefront the regeneration of the national team as the venerable Enlilbani Yargab nears his fortieth birthday.

RAM/RW: 10 – Rebekah YISSAKAR - Female – born January 20, 2013 (age 25) - Adab United – 39 goals
Brash, funny, happy-go-lucky, all those words have been used to describe Rebekah Yissakar, but do not let her bubbly, excitable personality distract you from the fact that she is one of Adabian football’s best talents, with a deadly finishing touch that secured her a place at the front three along with the great Enlilbani Yargab and the energetic Kastiliasu Akaptaha.

CF: 11 – Enlilbani YARGAB - Male – born April 21, 1999 (age 39) - Baghdad City – 116 goals (Captain)
At age 39, Adab’s greatest player is widely rumored to be on the verge of retirement but has so far neither confirmed nor denied it. Some believe he will retire after this World Cup run; others claim Yargab is actually improving as a player and there has been a renewal of some sorts, particularly as he finds himself competing with the even older Baskar Kumar in the Premier League. With Akaptaha now deployed on the wing, Kaykali is expected to increasingly rotate Yargab and Nadje Barzani; although his agility and skill have only declined a little from his peak, Yargab nevertheless seeks to preserve his body and prolong his career and understands that the younger players such as Akaptaha and Barzani adapt more easily to the gegenpressing tactics.

SUBSTITUTES
GK: 12 – Akurgal SHULGI – Male – born May 15, 2017 (age 21) – Damascus Steelers – 0 goals
Formidable young keeper whose adept, acrobatic defending dragged Adab to the final of the 14th Under-18 World Cup in Xanneria and Starcom.

LB: 13 – Adnan AL-TIKRITI – Male – born July 20, 2015 (age 23) – Damascus Steelers – 0 goals
Dogged defender who brought Adab to the final of the Di Bradini Cup 51. Flies under the radar publicity-wise but prefers to let his achievements on the pitch speak for themselves.

CB: 15 – Sarrugi AKSHAK – Male – born May 29, 2016 (age 22) – Lonngeylin Coast (Vilita) – 0 goals
Made headlines with his unexpected transfer to the Vilitan League, although he has more than proven himself as a capable defender at the Under-18 and Under-21 World Cups.

RB: 16 – Sally THOMAS – Female – born October 5, 2015 (age 22) – Beirut – 0 goals
Another instrumental member of the Di Bradini Cup 51 squad. May well prove herself even more with the senior national team.

LM: 17 – Salman AL-MUNTAR – Male – born May 10, 2001 (age 37) – Adab United – 4 goals
A member of the ‘old guard’ – Adab’s squad from World Cup 81, Saad Kaykali’s first tournament in charge – now back in the squad and expected to play a mentoring role to the younger players as well as serve as a ‘super sub’ when needed.

RM: 19 – Amara EMMITA – Female – born January 19, 2016 (age 22) – Baghdad United – 0 goals
Easily runs circles around her opponents with her slick, graceful style of play. Widely considered as a potential replacement for Ephraim Orlev in the starting lineup upon his retirement.

LAM/LW: 20 – Adanirari UHWAN – Male – born June 10, 2000 (age 38) – Mosul – 10 goals
A member of the ‘old guard’ – Adab’s squad from World Cup 81, Saad Kaykali’s first tournament in charge – now back in the squad and expected to play a mentoring role to the younger players as well as serve as a ‘super sub’ when needed.

RAM/RW: 21 – Shamsuiluna ZAMBIYA – Male – born May 27, 2000 (age 38) – Mosul – 13 goals
A member of the ‘old guard’ – Adab’s squad from World Cup 81, Saad Kaykali’s first tournament in charge – now back in the squad and expected to play a mentoring role to the younger players as well as serve as a ‘super sub’ when needed.

LAM/LW: 9 – Jushur AL-KUFA - Male – born August 27, 2003 (age 35) - Damascus Steelers – 20 goals
A longtime star of the Adabian domestic leagues, the 35-year-old al-Kufa finds himself sidelined with the ascent of Kastiliasu Akaptaha but doesn’t complain about it. A consistently polite and unassuming man, he is respected by all of his teammates.

CF: 23 – Nadje BARZANI – Female – born March 14, 2017 (age 21) – Beirut – 4 goals
Barzani has made a name for herself as one of the Premier League’s best players and one of its most explosive forwards, alongside Kastiliasu Akaptaha, and is starting to make an impact in the national team in a rotation with the seemingly ageless Enlilbani Yargab. But time waits for no one, and as Yargab rapidly approaches his fortieth birthday the indication seems to be that Barzani will soon have her spot to herself.

STADIUM
Image

Adab City Stadium, the pride and joy of Adabian football, was completed in 1940. Located in the northern part of Adab City, the stadium was able to accommodate 40,000 people at the time of its opening. Renovations in 1978 made it an all-seater stadium and expanded its capacity to 55,350. Later it increased to 75,000 following upgrades in 2009-10 and then 76,500 after another upgrade in 2019. It is currently home to the Adabian national football team and Adab City FC.

TACTICS AND FORMATION
The team will use 4-3-2-1, the "Christmas tree" formation, with an emphasis on gegenpressing – immediately working to take back possession after losing the ball and launching a quick counterattack before the opponent can take the initiative. Any opposition players with the ball will find themselves swarmed and cut off quickly. The orientation towards gegenpressing has been offered as evidence of Rashid Abbas’ increasing influence as he seeks to modernize the team in his capacity as assistant manager.

Goalkeeper Satchit Chandrasekar has enjoyed a sudden and meteoric rise from under-21 keeper to first-choice senior team keeper, aided by the decline and retirement of Mohammed Marramzi. With Taymour Frangieh now also having retired, Shania Enmerkar finds herself leading the defense, her limitless energy and tenacity – which she has demonstrated both on and off the pitch – making her particularly suited for this role.

At midfield, Emma Arthur finds herself paired up with Naram-Sin Samanu, a graduate of the under-21 team who is now seeking to continue his successful career in the senior team. Their agility and teamwork allow them increased coverage of the pitch and domination of possession, which they skillfully use to quickly transfer the ball away from the opposing team and to the attacking trio of Kastiliasu Akaptaha, Rebekah Yissakar, and the great Enlilbani Yargab. At age 39, the country’s greatest player remains by far its most lethal finisher, although he now largely avoids ostentatious displays of acrobatics and dribbling skills which marked his younger days in favor of simple runs towards the penalty box. In a further concession to his advancing age, Akaptaha and Yissakar are also gradually bearing more and more of the goalscoring burden, and it is expected that Yargab will be substituted or even not played at all from time to time in favor of Nadje Barzani. Yargab (or Barzani whenever she plays) will occasionally drop back to serve as a false nine, leaving a hole in the opposition defense to be exploited by the wingers and attacking midfielders.

Team

Playing in the following formation: GK | DC DC | WBL DMC WBR | MC MC | AMC | SC SC

The first player(s) named in each area of the team start the game. Our line-up will broadly be as follows (unless you RP one of our players has an injury or something):

GK: Wilson
DsL-R: Barrett, Willingham, D'Entro, Burke
DMC: Walker
MCs: Mikkels, Lewis
AMC: Clearedway
SCs: Builder, Gibson

Further information on the players is below if it is required and/or of interest.

Number, Name, Position, Age, Place of Birth, Club
All players male (He/Him) unless specified
Goalkeepers - 3

1 - Louis WILSON - GK – 26 – Fort Boston Image – Cottsworth City Image
13 – Leora SOFTSTEP - GK – 19 – Cerrston, Juniper Island Image – Juniper Mournhow F.C. Image
She/Her
Leora's place of birth is noted as Cerrston, when in fact she was born on one of the ships carrying Bostopians to their new home in the Ochres. That it happened to dock in Cerrston, where her family settled, was just luck. Her parents chose a new surname after watching their child take her first furtitive steps outside, wanting to ditch their old Bostopian name. While there is some doubts over her ability to play as an international goalkeeper, her ability to read the game makes up for a lack of height (comparative to other top-flight goalkeepers at least) and fans joke that it seems she knows where the ball will go before the striker does.
12 - Eric BIRDTENDER - GK – 18 – Nuntsby, Handsby Island Image – Bellflower A.U. Image
Birdtender is Bellflower A.U.'s current number two goalkeeper, but has impressed in cup games (which he regularly starts) enough to make the
national side. His parents were fundamental in the study of native species in the Ochres, and his surname was later chosen to reflect this.

Defenders - 7
3 - Taylor BARRETT - WB/L – 28 – Norteaton Image – Lansdorn Image
4 – Jordan WILLINGHAM – DC – 26 – Bassingdale Image – Nuntsby City Image
2 - Louis D'ENTRO - DC – 19 – Bellflower, Mournhow Island Image – Cottsworth City Image
Louis was born in what was known then as 'New Ranton', which was the name of the capital of the Bostopian Ochre Islands prior to independence. He is one of the better players in Cottsworth's side, who are regular title contenders in the Ochre League Division One.
5 - Leonard BURKE – WB/R – 31 – Glenrock - Image – Juniper Monnstair Image
15 - Harry SANDMAN – DC-WB/L – 16 – Slipsway, Chaffinch Island Image – Slipsway Town F.C. Image
The youngest member of the squad, only just turning 16 in time for the first qualifying game, Harry Sandman is the first player in any Ochre national squad to be born on Chaffinch Island. Adopting his surname from his love of running on the beach, he tends to be more of a sweeper than a proper centre half, being able to quickly take care of opponents passes into the box before they cause too much harm. His pace and stamina also allows him to play as a makeshift right wing-back, but his crosses come across as clearances more often than not.
6 – Arto NEWCOMER - DC – 20 – Lander's Port, Mournhow Island Image – Nottshore Turquoise F.C. Image
Arto Newcomer was born mere days after the first ships began arriving in the Ochre Islands from Bostopia. His parents immediately changed their – and his – family name on arrival in the islands, so his heritage beyond that is unknown. Arto, whilst young, is a regular feature in the back line of Nottshore Turquoise and integral to keeping them in the top division of Ochre football.
16 - Lucy FEATHERBORN- WB/R – 17 – City of Louisa, Hope Island Image – Louisa Hope F.C. Image
She/Her
Featherborn currently plies her trade on the right-wing for Louisa Hope F.C., her hometown team. Pacy and versatile, she is more likely to try and beat her opponent with the ball at her feet rather than pass around them. She already displays a range of passing that could see her propelled into the midfield, whether on the wing or in the middle should her development continue at the pace it is.

Midfielders - 8
14 - Carl WALKERCaptain - DMC – 27 – Fort Boston Image – Lower Soffsley Image
11 - Joseph MIKKELS - MC – 22 – Hilltop Image – Lower Soffsley Image
8 - Harry LEWIS - MC – 21 – Port Flamerty Image – Nuntsby City Image
17 - Luke MATSON - MC – 26 – Jennaerton Image – Stangtons Image
7 - Copse CLEAREDWAY - AMC – 19 – Callais, Jensee Island Image – Slipsway Town Image
Copse Clearedway was born in Callais, which is on one of the smaller Ochre Islands of Jensee. He is first-choice striker for Slipsway Town, a mid-table side in the first division of domestic Ochre football. However for the Ochre national team, he is more likely to be played as an attacking midfielder to give us a significant threat just outside the area, as well as knowing where a striker would want a ball playing to them.
18 - Bradley WATKINS - AMC – 31 – Rivdale Image – West Bellflower Image
15 - Mick BASING - DMC – 21 – Sennaton Image – Bellflower A.U. XI Image
20 - Pete READ - D/AMC – 29 – Flamerty Image – Cottsworth City Image

Strikers - 5
9 - Rory BUILDER - SC – 19 – Kollingdon, Handsby Island Image – Valesthorpe Image
Rory is the youngest of the Ochre-born players, having been born a mere day or two after his parents reached Kollingdon following their migration to the Ochres from Fenton State. Whilst still largely bench-warming for Valesthorpe, the national team can see his promise and are taking him to CAFA3 in the hopes of giving him international experience in low-pressure situations.
22 - Blue GIBSONVice-Captain - SC – 26 – Acorn Wood Image – Juniper Monnstair Image
She/Her
Blue Gibson is the first Bostopian-born female player to ever represent her country in an international football tournament. Whilst there have been female managers of the Bostopian national team, Blue was seen as a 'once-in-a-lifetime' footballing talent that the OIFA could find no reason, legally or otherwise, to exclude her from the national team. It was her second goal of the CAFA final which had sealed the Ochres 3 – 1 win over Saltstead with 3 minutes remaining of the 90. Blue also scored the winning goal to send the Ochre Islands to the World Cup finals for the first time.
10 - George HOLLAND - SC – 30 – Rinstad Image – Flanminster Abbey Image
19 – Carl-James (C.J.) LUCKSMITH - SC – 17 – Hannston, Jensee Island Image – Lionsville Transport Sports Club Image
Despite playing for a smaller Ochre side, sitting in the 4th tier of the football league, C.J. has excelled and proven himself at a high level thanks to helpful cup draws against much better teams projecting his abilities on the national stage. While football at the lower levels is a bit more rough and ready than the higher divisions, he has always been able to hold his own against strong defenders despite his young age, and their willingness to let him know they're there.
21 - Joseph MORRIS - SC – 28 – Hilltop Image – Stangtons XI Image

Kits & Logo

Home, Away and Third

ImageImageImage

The Ochre Islands kits were designed and manufactured by OchreSport, with input from the Ochre Islands Football Association.
Following the abysmal CAFA3 campaign, the home kit removes all gold references and goes back to the traditional striped ochre and blue ochre scheme, with white trim.
The away kit is a contiuation of the popular 'Anaiaway' theme promoted by the OIFA, which they say 'promotes peace & harmony and reminds us that whilst we may be in an away kit, the Anaia region is still our home'.
The third kit is a colour combination of the two ochre colours, resulting in an earthy brown colour reminiscent of some of the home soil players and fans may tend to in their spare time.

Before CAFA 2, the Ochre Islands Football Association ran a competition to design the team's logo, which was won by a 34 year old man with neither design experience or taste. Fortunately, an update of the design to account for taste was commissioned and outsourced by the OIFA, which is as below. The badge prominently features a 'little mint green hat', which actually commerorates the Ochre Islands victory in the second CAFA tournament.

Image

The Ochre Islands play a possession-based style of football which aims to prevent the opposition from scoring by simply not letting them have the ball. While we will prefer safer passes, the players generally have a good sense of when a chance is 'on' and will play balls with added risk involved where necessary.
