“reasonable” doesn’t mean things I agree with, it means something that could address the problem and is appropriate for the problem. for example, if someone is doing cybercrime, the solution is not increasing naval spending and it is also not banning the internet.

Banning the internet would drastically reduce cyber crime. Although granted, naval funding doesn't seem related.

Which leads us back to "things you agree with" because rather the reaction is warranted, and rather the internet as a whole is good, are opinions you hold.

the internet has benefits to the economy and sciences that can be proven. these benefits almost certainly outweigh the cost of cybercrime.

AL is as good at debating as GMS is and it shows.

On an unrelated note, Micheal Sussmann's trial can now proceed

Depends on who you ask, I find it agreeable, but I suspect most Amish would consider Penguin's opinion to be wrong.

Who supports or agrees with an opinion is irrelevant. It’s the arguments provided which define is to be right or wrong. The Amish may believe him to be wrong and that doesn’t mean they can’t be wrong as well.

I like this link thanks, :), I strongly agree with AL and there is nothing wrong with it, A L s comment on the Amish is interesting. Debate is when certain persons disagree with each other on the same issues, we are not on NS to agree with each other when we disagree with each other. To those who say I copy pasta, I don't copy pasta, :)

Maryland Court of Appeals affirms state legislative redistricting map. This ends the redistricting process in the state. The maps will now be law.

DeSantis' new proposed map is out and boy, it's definitely a gerrymandered piece:

It adds four new Republican leaning Districts while eliminating 3 Highly Competitive Districts, as well as Lawson's majority Black District. Essentially, it would almost eliminate the gains Democrats have made across the country although to note, there are a lot more lean D districts and they are certainly vulnerable.

DeSantis' map is even more aggressive than his original I believe. The hope is that it doesn't survive the legal challenge coming but given the State's Supreme Court is all Republicans, including three from Desantis, as well as SCOTUS in general gutting voting rights, it seems more likely than not it will survive.

I don’t know how anyone could defend adult–child marriages. Republicans and my fellow theological conservatives need to move on from the homosexual marriage issue. It’s pretty much a done deal. We don’t have to agree with it or like it. But it’s ridiculous trying to overturn Obergefell v. Hodges. The American populace are not divided on this issue anymore. This is not like the abortion issue. The vast majority of Americans support the right of homosexual couples to get a civil marriage.

It's nutso to me that lawmakers would not think to include an age limit in the law. I don't think the lack of an age limit was intentional, it was probably caused by sheer stupidity in drafting legislation. Legislation that, by the way, is sheerly stupid in principle as well.

By "child marriage" do they mean "marriage between adults and children" or "between children and other children"?

Because the former sounds irreconcilable with accusation that Democrats are the pedophiles.
