Fair, that is true.
Ukraine is not a trap. It is not a perfect metaphor, but to illustrate that sometimes blindly attacking something in anger is not the best idea. Also although in the story it was set up as a trap, there was no need to attack it in the first place. The point is it is only a “threat” if you attack it. Its power to trap you only comes from your attacks on it.
I was think actually more about how it applies to Russian’s deranged crusade against NATO and the West and general. The more Russia tries to fight NATO and the West, the stronger they get, while if it simply stopped attacking, they would ironically become weaker as a result.
