Part: 1|2
Kelssek (KSK) qualifiers
Champions League: Latrobe Athletic, Shearwater, Strathcona Intls
Challengers Cup: CF Outineau, Clayquot City, Torbay Thunder
Cup Winners’ Cup: CF Outineau
VCIAPP: Kirkenes FC (tied on goals for with Burnaby, broken on matches won)

Final site bid for Challengers Cup: Stadium of the Workers, Neorvins (capacity 66,753)
Located at Chain Tower Point across the Suter river from downtown Neorvins, the federal capital of Kelssek. It is mainly used for home matches of Neorvins Armada, a professional rugby team in the Rugby Superleague. It is owned and operated by a consortium including ownership by the Neorvins Federal Territory government, the Kelssek federal government, and the union representing Neorvins municipal employees. The stadium's official name has, controversially, changed several times due to sponsorship contracts which attracted political opposition and government intervention.

Procedural Note: The Vilitan Cove Invitational Committee noted that it has taken possession of the residence down the street and found a wayward application from Eastfield Lodge on the premises. They looked hard for expected entries from The Cordian Isles and Tikariot but could not find them - even under the floorboards. Any other associations applying for an invitation whose applications were sent by drunk Cocoabo, turned into interstellar dust through the effects of the foxchseter event, lost in a high-stakes Nationstates Trading Card game or otherwise not received were not extended an invitation to compete. Club Stein-los of Pasarga and Evyr Thespians of Mriin were extended an invitation as defending champions and runner-up respectively per the competition charter.

The Vilitan Cove Invitational is an International Club Competition. Designed to allow clubs who have not already qualified for a major international club competition (UICA; IFCF; Cup Winners Cup) a chance to compete on the international stage. The Invitational is designed as a Fair Play competition, however an association may set any sporting criteria by which to determine which team will be permitted to apply to the competition. The Vilitan Cove Inivitational Committee reserves the right to change the competition entry criteria at any point.

Not all applicants are guaranteed invitation into the competition, particularly in the event more than 31 associations apply for consideration.

The format of the competition is a Fixed Bracket Knockout with minor re-seeding during rounds which have byes. All pairings prior to the Semi-Final stage will be two-legged home and away aggregate knockout rounds.

The "Away Goals" rule will not apply. Any match which is level on aggregate at the conclusion of full time during the second leg will immediately proceed to an extra time period. There will be no silver or golden goal scenario, and a full 30 minute extra time period would be contested. If the scores are still level, a penalty shootout will be employed to determine which team advances.

Semi-Final and Final stages will each be a single knockout match at a selected location in the Vilitan Cove region.

The Nation who have put the most unique clubs on the Vilitan Cove Invitational medal podium have broken through at last to claim the title as Arlington City of Zwangzug outlasted defending champion Club Stein-los of Pasarga to claim Zwangzug's first Vilitan Cove Invitational title. Arlington City are the fifth different club from Zwangzug to finish in the Top 3 of the VCI and Zwangzug are the most decorated federation in the tournaments history with six overall medal placements. Clayquot City were looking to become the third Kelssek based side to medal in the previous four editions but were pipped to the bronze by Ko-orenite club WSR AFC who become the first Ko-oren based club to earn a medal placement in the Invitational. Club Stein-los become the fourth side to appear in back-to-back Vilitan Cove Invitational finals and the second to split those finals with one win and one defeat as Strathcona Internationals of Kelssek did in the 11th and 12th edition.

The rules for application to the VCI, which should be adhered to by any association which is inviting one of their clubs to apply for a slot in the tournament, are as follows:
Number of Teams Allowed to Apply: ( ONE )
  • Single-Association leagues may have one applicant team
  • Multi-Association leagues may have no more than three applicant teams with no more than one applicant from a single association

TCSC /79th Super Cycle/31st by Tropicorp/9th Tropicorp Super

Tropicorp's sponsorship of the Super Cup competition through UICA reaches back to the 52nd edition of the event and had already been extended through the UICA 75th anniversary campaign. With the IFCF absorbing control of competitions from UICA, however, it left an untenable break for Tropicorp which had invested heavily in the Super Cup brand for the previous 20+ cycles.

The traditional UICA Super Cup included only the winners of three of the four UICA sanctioned events with the Youth Championships considered separate from the UICA Mainstream. Other major competitions such as the Cup Winners Cup and Vilitan Cove Invitational were excluded as they were not official UICA sanctioned events, but Tropicorp saw an opportunity to unite them in the Non-IFCF Super Group. The winners of the 'other' 3 major internationstatal domestic competitions would be invited to compete in their own three team group identical to the format of the old UICA Super Cup. The winner of this group would then be invited to contest the Tropicorp Super Cup against the winner of the new IFCF Super Group.

The Non-IFCF Super Group would be timed such that the matches would correspond roughly to the end of the Vilitan Cove Invitational tournament with the IFCF Youth Cup Champions playing their match against the Cup Winners Cup champions first, before each team played a single game against the winners of the Vilitan Cove Invitational. The "Rising Stars" Cup Champions would be permitted up to 5 Senior 'Guest' players on their roster in addition to a generous age restriction up to 21 years old for the remainder of their participating players. They are, however, encouraged to reward as many of the players who earned their championship as feasible.

The 9th Tropicorp Super Cup
Tropicorp Park, Tropicoast, Tropicorp

(ZWZ) Arlington City 0–2 Raynor City United (VAL)

In their third appearance in just nine editions of the modern Tropicorp Super Cup, Raynor City United dish out the largest margin of victory in the 9 editions of the modern Tropicorp Super Cup to become the first club in the 9 editions to earn multiple titles. It would be the first Tropicorp Super Cup to be decided in normal time since Directus of Eura defeated Northern Union of Brenecia in the 4th edition of the modern Tropicorp Super Cup. In 9 editions of the modern Tropicorp Super Cup just five unique federations have lifted the trophy with both Valanora and Audioslavia claiming multiple titles. However only one federation - Brenecia - has finished runner-up on more than one occasion in the modern era, as Northern Union were on the losing end in modern edition #2 and #4.

History and Tenants :: Tropicorp Park is home to Tropicorp FC, members of the Vilitan Stellar Division and also regularly serves as the home of assorted International and Domestic Competitions. The Tropicorp Cup, a four team, 2 day grand-finale of the Tropicorp Lower League has served as an outstanding warmup to test the hospitality available at Tropicorp Park, and was critical in the build up to the decision to allow the finals of the Eagle's Cup V competition to take place in Tropicorp, the first major international competition of any kind to be held in Tropicoast.

Tropicorp Park hosted the 54th AOCAF Final that saw Cosumar break through with a first ever regional title over Eshan. The stadium was also the final site for the AOCL XXIII contested between Mâ Âlâmëómë of Farfadillis and Blades ex Magnaeus of Mertagne with the Farf side being victorious on Penalty Kicks; and for AOCL XVII which saw Jungle Strike FC defeat Fligsive FC 3-0.

Tropicorp officials are continuously looking to expand the portfolio of events held at the Park and began hosting UICA competition finals in addition to its long-standing partnership with the UICA Super Cup competition. Tropicorp Park hosted the final of the 70th UICA Series 'B' Champions Cup and the 25th UICA Youth Cup competitions. Tropicorp officials are always looking for new partnerships, however, and continue to take advantage of the opportunities to showcase their hospitality including branching beyond Footsport. The NSCF Tropicorp Bowl was contested on the gridiron with Raynor University defeating the university of Iqaluit 27-14.[/box]

Due to RL skullduggery I have to re-submit last season's results for this IFCF deadline.

However I do have all of my 22 season previews and several fully RP'd MDs that I can submit for grading for this cycle, so at least some redeeming value :)

Tikariot (TKT) final site bids

Challengers Cup: Mountain Fortress, Oriannor (cap. 54,000)[/b]
The Mountain Fortress in Oriannor is the home of the Tikariot Premier League's Oriannor Mountaineers. Oriannor is the capital of Khazagh and the heart of Tikariotian mining, which is the lifeblood of both city and province, which is only rivalled in mineral richness by northwestern Viljamark. The aptly named Mountain Fortress is considered one of the most impressive settings in Tikariotian football, with part of the stadium blasted out of the side of one of the many towering mountains of the Khazagh Range that completely surrounds the city. It is one of the rotating stadiums to host national team matches, the last of which to date had been the first leg of Tikariot's playoff brace against Drawkland for the qualification for World Cup 88. It is easily reachable via the Oriannor subway system, which is the likely most modern and advanced in all of Tikariot, and has received several awards for its integrated design making it seem almost one with the mountain from outside, but offering state-of-the-art facilities combined with truly majestic views. It also was part of the stadiums that hosted World Cup 90.

Banija (BNJ) final site bids

IFCF Champions League: Istria Olympic Stadium(Capacity 80,000) in Istria, Moravica, Banija.

The RBSA is launching a bid to host club football's greatest game in the country's largest city, at the Olympic Stadium. Offering the new Istria Olympic Stadium, built on scenic oceanfront property in Downtown Istria, located on the city's far west side. It would be the largest major event hosted by the brand new stadium since the conclusion of the XIV Summer Olympiad, where the stadium served as the main stadium for those Olympic games. It hosted multiple group stage matches for gridiron and association football, including the gold medal match of both men's and womens' association football.

As an Olympic City, The City of Istria is adept at hosting major events, and has more than enough hotel space and other infrastructure for visiting fans who are coming to the city.

Atlantian Oceania Champions League: The Hangaza Unified Stadium(capacity 55,000) in Aissa, Hangaza, Banija.

The Hangaza Unified stadium is bidding to host the Atlantian Oceania Champions League Final, and bring it to country on the country's far east side. While not one of Banija's most well known cities, Hangaza's regional capitol is both quickly growing, amidst a tech and oil boom, as well as becoming a host city. With the much smaller Ruwani right south of the city's southern limits, The Aissa Metropolitan area is used to hosting major events. World Bowl, World Cup, and AOCAF matches have all been held at this stadium, which are tenants of Aissa United, who are in Banija's second tier.

Most recently, the Ruwani Motor Speedway hosted the NSCF 25 Final, which has showcased the area's ability to pull off and host a major international sporting event. They want to use the AOCL Final as another venue to increase their own profile around the region.

IFCF Liga B Champions Trophy Final: Tiones Lumber Field at the Wolf's Den in Busembe, Kitara, Banija(capacity 43,000)

If the IFCF Champions League host bid fails, The RBSA is also launching a bid to host the Liga B Champions Trophy Final at one of the country's premier stadiums, Tiones Lumber Field at the Wolf's Den. Home to the Busembe Timberwolves, it is located at the heart of a major city. The city proper is located in Southern Kitara, just a 45 minute drive from the national capitol of Busukuma.

Despite it's not extremely large size, this stadium has always been a core part of Banijan bids to host sporting tournaments. This stadium has hosted games during both World Cups 81 and 83, as well as AOCAF LVIII, Baptism of Fire 67, and during the associational football tournament at the XIV Summer Olympic Games. The compactness of the stadium, as well as its relatively close location to the Banijan capitol, make it an ideal stadium to host the Liga B Champions Trophy Final- a good size to ensure that people will be able to get seats, a relatively easy city to get to inside a major soccer country, and yet, it is not too large- there will not be empty seats.

SAVIGLEGA SEASON 7

Image

They weren't supposed to win the SavigLega. Not in the sense that nobody expected them to win the SavigLega - they did have a lot of spending money, and a core that had actually matured and improved since joining on multi-million dollar deals, and with parity at all-time highs in SavigLega, it wasn't that surprising from a football standpoint. No, they weren't supposed to win because them winning was objectively bad for football. Fifteen years ago, a construction magnate named Joël Bonmaison had bought and renamed a third-tier club, then thrown money at it until it was in the top flight. He had tried to manufacture a rivalry with a nonplussed AS Villeneuve, the real, historic capital club. He had taken illegal government money in the form of exclusive stadium construction contracts, then claimed he'd done nothing wrong and thrown the mayor under the bus. And now, after ASV had inexplicably beaten Nazionale, the only team that could catch them, on the penultimate matchday, and even after going 0-1-2 in their final three matches when the title was all but secure, he had bought himself a league title. For fuck's sake.

Efnakia (EFK) final site bids
Liga B Champions Trophy: Mafo Essome Odra, Odra (capacity 85,000)
The "grand old lady" of Efnak football, this was the first stadium to be built in the country, and has been expanded and renovated to be the largest. Built in a large "bowl" style and recently renovated to add a roof covering a majority of spectator seating, the Mafo Essome sits at the base of where the River Teddoss meets the southern coast, close to the heart of downtown Odra (a relatively quiet but prosperous city of only ~450,000) and less than a mile from the centre of the Efnak national government. While Odra does not contain an international airport, there is a domestic airport with regular service to the west coast's international airport in Det', as well as high-speed rail and Fast Route motorway access along the Southwest Line and TDd 1 "The West Ring" respectively. Its only drawback is a lack of regular large-scale use, however, only playing host to a majority of Efnak national team games and Etanbe Ondde club HFH Odra.

AOCL: Mafo Ssassepnedoff "Befha Kaccokeb", Muhdet' (capacity 67,100)
The newest large stadium in Efnak football, this fully enclosed stadium provides protection from the occasionally-harsh weather of eastern Efnakia. Situated on the northern edge of Muhdet' along the River Tedat', this stadium plays host to Mas Ondde club CmSH Muhdet', one of the largest clubs in Efnakia and the largest in Abmas province. The stadium is well-designed and well-staffed to deal with crowd trouble, as the Muhdet'-Mutddem rivalry on opposite sides of the river (known as Kem Ke Dam, or The Big One, between the two Mas Ondde clubs), frequently sparks into rioting and other disturbances. If awarded the bid, tickets will not be sold to residents of Abmas or those with affiliations to Mas Ondde clubs in Abmas, with the intention of avoiding the possibility of ethnic slurs and chanting from fans in attendance (as is common in games throughout Abmas). As befitting a large coastal city and major shipping port, Muhdet' is extremely well-connected, containing the main international airport of the east of the country as well as high-speed rail and Fast Route motorway access through Abmas Provincial and TDd 2 "The East Ring" respectively. Just don't ask the locals who the stadium is named after.

Somehow grabbed second place in the 16th U18 World Cup, so that's cool. Football team is a bit wack, basketball team is doing better.

The Asociación Yguazuense de Fútbol (AYF) is pleased to present...
The Yguazú División de Honor - Professional Season 1

The División de Honor de Yguazú is the highest tier of association football in Yguazú, a nation located in the region of Anaia with loose and remote bonds with Valladares. This competition, organized by the AYF, is played by 12 teams, most of them based in the national capital Karanday and surrounding areas, and it is particular in the sense that it works under an Apertura/Clausura system in which both the Apertura and Clausura tournaments constitute independent championships (i.e. the winners of both tournaments earn equal recognition as champions).

In both the Apertura and Clausura tournaments, the 12 teams play each other in a double-round robin tournament, once at their stadium and once at their rivals' one, for a total of 22 matches per tournament. The team with the most points at the end of each tournament is crowned as champion.

The competition has been played as an amateur championship for nearly 100 years, and has been historically dominated by Cerro Pintado and Olímpico, who won all but 9 out of the previous editions of the competition (46 titles for Cerro Pintado and 43 for Olímpico), with Independiente (5), Tupí (3) and Nacional (1) being the only teams able to win a championship in the amateur era. Albeit the league has been played to a decent standard of quality in spite of its amateurism, the AYF believes that, by turning the competition into a professional one and having the chance to enter international competition, the level of the competition and of its own teams will have an exponential growth and Yguazuense players will have their much-wanted opportunity to take themselves to new highs.

Teams
The following are the 12 teams that will play the first professional season of the División de Honor:

Apertura Tournament
The Apertura was the tournament that kicked off the footballing season, and had fireworks from the very beginning with Sol de Anaia running riot over General Redín, with the "sunny" side tearing the Eagles apart in a 5-1 mauling in the game that opened up the competition. Heavyweights Olímpico and Cerro Pintado started the season on the right foot as expected, but not without being given a run to their money by traditional sides Tupí and Nacional, who offered some stiff contention before narrowly capitulating to both powerhouses. However, the same could not be said about the other traditional side, Independiente, who were stunned by lowly Tacuarí in their season opener. The first clash between Olímpico and Cerro Pintado came as soon as the third round, with Cerro handing their arch-rivals a 4-1 thrashing in a tense game that featured brawls both on the field and at the stands between both sets of fans. However, the Cebra would bounce back quickly enough and was able to take the lead on MD8, fully capitalizing on the Azuleta's loss to Tacuarí (who seemed to have found delight in becoming a dangerous banana skin for the big sides) with a win over Deportivo Fernheim in their trip to the arid Mennonite heartlands in the East. Eventually Olímpico would not let themselves be pushed out of the summit, even though they were subject for the remainder of the season to the pressure from the likes of Independiente, Nacional, and Sportivo Eugenino and were able to claim their 44th domestic title with one game in hand by beating the side from San Eugenio while both Independiente and Nacional lost to 31 de Enero and Tupí, respectively.

Meanwhile, that defeat in the first Superclásico hit Cerro Pintado quite hard, as Yguazú's winningest side found some more speed bumps in their path, including but not limited to the aforementioned match against Tacuarí as well as an embarrassing loss at home against Fernheim in the following game and another loss in their visit to 25 de Marzo in Parapetí, results which ended up dooming the Azuleta to fifth place, one point ahead of Sol de Anaia, whose gas ran out after the start of the second half of the tournament despite landing some big blowouts early on. Tacuarí and both "calendar teams" (31 de Enero and 25 de Marzo), took some important steps towards their goal of avoiding the drop thanks to their resounding upsets (Tacuarí's ones the most notable) and were able to build cushions of 7 and 10 points over Deportivo Fernheim and General Redín, who remain as the top candidates for relegation in spite of Tupí's terrible Apertura campaign. Ironically enough, the Indio's chairman was one of the staunchest opponents to the introduction of relegation by average, and that measure could be saving his team from the drop as things stand at this point.

Clausura Tournament
Usually the Clausura tends to be the most closely fought tournament, considering that it is at this point that the aggregate table enters into play, and most teams will be looking at both tables with attention especially now that there are international berths up for grabs. However, Cerro Pintado, who were coming from an underwhelming Apertura for their lofty standards, dominated the Clausura from start to end and did not give arch-rivals and defending champions Olímpico the slightest chance to threaten them. They even made their superiority manifest in both of the Clausura's Superclásicos by winning them by large margins, and inflicting on Olímpico their worst loss at home in this specific rivalry: 5-1. The "Pintado machine" clinched their 47th title on MD16, beating 25 de Marzo on the road while Olímpico were beaten by a General Redín side who had their hopes of avoiding the drop greatly fueled by this upset. Cerro were also able to officially confirm their qualification for the LigAnaia with this title, and would go on to ensure their qualification for the Champions League the following weekend, making sure their arch-rivals would not be able to give them chase in the aggregate table by beating Independiente at home.

With the race for the title and the top two of the aggregate table now done and dusted, attention turned to the race for the remaining two Challengers Cup spots, with Independiente cruising to claim one of them on account of their third place in the Clausura, which coupled with their runner-up finish in the Apertura helped them end the season in third place of the aggregate table, whilst Sol de Anaia took advantage of the decline of both Sportivo Eugenino and Nacional in the Clausura to snatch the final IFCF berth from both sides. Meanwhile Tupí, who were coming off a terrible Apertura in which they ended up in last place, were able to shake off and redeem themselves in the Clausura with a fourth place finish which is more in line with the history and tradition of the Aboriginal squad but which was not enough to help them claim a ChC berth as they finished in ninth place of the aggregate table.

With Tupí easily getting rid of the relegation ghost for good, and both Tacuarí and 25 de Marzo having accrued enough savings to set themselves free, the issue was left to be decided between 31 de Enero, General Redín and Deportivo Fernheim. The Mennonite side was the first one to fall, confirming their relegation with one match to go after tying with 25 de Marzo and watching the other calendar side beat Independiente, whilst General Redín's fate was sealed on the last matchday after losing the San Eugenio derby to Sportivo Eugenino, meaning that their marvellous reaction during the Clausura was futile.

Aggregate Table
The aggregate table, combining the results of both the Apertura and Clausura, will decide the teams that will be entering the IFCF tournaments for the following season starting from this season. Since Yguazú, as a new association, is only entitled to one berth into the Champions League, this berth will be awarded to the highest-placed tournament champion in the aggregate table (if one team wins both the Apertura and Clausura, it will automatically qualify for the CL), with the other tournament champion qualifying for the Challengers Cup instead, and along with the next two best-placed teams in this table. The Apertura and Clausura champions will both qualify for the CAFA LigAnaia regardless of their placement in this table.

Historically, the aggregate table was used to decide relegation, with the two lowest-placed teams being relegated to the División Intermedia at the end of the season. However, this will be the last time relegation will be decided through this method, with averages set to be used starting from professional season 2 mostly thanks to the heavy pressure coming from the "Big Two", who do not want to see themselves doomed by one particular poor season...

The División Intermedia is Yguazú's second tier, and unlike the División de Honor, it is played under a more traditional format with 16 clubs playing each other twice for a total of 30 matches per season. The top two teams at the end of the season are promoted to the División de Honor for the following season, and starting from now will also qualify for the Liga B Champions Trophy, along with the team that ends up in third place.

Relegation (for now) is also pretty straightforward, with the bottom three teams getting relegated at the end of the season. Teams coming from the capital Karanday and nearby areas will be relegated to Primera B Metropolitana, while teams coming from other areas of Yguazú will be relegated to Primera B Nacional.
