Don't know why they aren't using the forces at Kherson, are they exhausted?

My professor’s parents live in Mykolaiv. Can’t imagine what she’s going through right now.

Well, Russia never understood Ukraine and Ukrainians (link in comment)

I would classify this as a rumor at this point. If true, I'm not really sure what Putin is thinking. Yanukovych was an incompetent goon, and I thought that Putin disliked him on a personal level.

Then again, Russia has been spreading the tale that not Yanukovych but Ukranian nazis are responsible for said bloodbath - which nicely fits witht he whole "de-nazify" tale.

"when you launch rockets into civilian housing blocks" You do know Ukrainian forces were responsible for that?

Last I checked the Russians are the invaders and the ones shelling Ukrainian cities.

They've allegedly attacked a hospital. Both sides have probably committed crimes, and I'm not inclined to listen to any sources about this war.

Then why comment in this thread. Just seems like you’re trying to bait people.

Only when Putin reestablishes the USSR - Lukashenko specifically said he wanted to be a Colonel of the Soviet Army (0:43).

I personally don't care. I've heard "vacuum bomb" enough that I think interested parties are trying to spin thermobaric weapons as more novel and uniquely devastating than they are. Clusterbombs and thermobaric weapons suck because much like sharp sticks they can kill civilians depending on how you use them.

Some comedic relief, if you consider it to be. Russian soldier in Kherson having trouble opening a door to an electronics store.

In a nutshell: Mf shot the glass to open the door but failed, gave up and walked away dejectedly.

Yeah given that they seem to mostly be killing people just fine with regular old artillery I think it’s just a combo of American media’s morbid bloodlust and fetishistic fascination with technology

Any thoughts about the audio leak where Nuland and others handpick the leaders of Ukraine in 2014?

Cluster munitions can create a bit of a unexploded ordinance problem. Ukrainian civilians are probably going to be getting killed/maimed by that UXO for years to come.

The use of anti-personnel landmines is a similar problem which has been afflicting the Donbas region for some time.

I disagree, thermobaric weapons have been around for a while and the media's not been shy talking about them. I think the specific use of the word vacuum bomb and the references to the collateral but largely unimportant effects of the bombs is probably deliberate spin. It seems like propaganda but propaganda isn't evil and it's not something only bad guys do.

Ukrainian Invasion Adds to Chaos for Global Supply Chains

Key impacts include Europe-to-Asia air traffic having to be re-routed around Russia, increases in energy prices, and the disruption of exports in food, raw materials, and intermediate products from Ukraine and Russia.
