Thanks for bidding, all. I have faith in all three bidders to competently run this edition of the CR, and it's great to see so much interest in hosting the event.

Questions for South Jeolerina and Soldera:

1. Given that both of your nations are relatively new to Rushmore, is there anything particular you plan to do while hosting to better familiarize other RPers with your nation?
2. Which pot would your nation be put in for the draw if they are chosen to host?

1. Much like South Jeolerina, I plan to do worldbuilding in the sense of introducing the populace to the participants, especially the Minister of Sport and the King. I also intend to include optional RP prompts that would not only serve to provide RP angles other than any particular match for anyone who needs it, but also serve to introduce elements of Solderan culture to the rest of Rushmore.
2. Whichever pot Soldera belongs in based on the post-CR39 ranks.

Soldera: The other bidders will be awarding themselves a host bonus, do you plan on doing same?

While there's no guarantee they will respond here, I'm curious whether other recent hosts (Astograth/Savojarna, Mytanija, Eura, Hispinas) did this, as I don't remember it being mentioned in bids.

To add some context to this, I didn’t add a host bonus when I hosted, I had home advantage turned on but that was the extent of it. Not sure about other hosts.

Voting for the hosting of Copa Rushmori 40 is now open. Any user that has signed up for the competition (except for the bidders) is allowed to vote. As with any other previous host bid votings, only one vote will be allowed per user, which means any users who have signed up both master and puppet nations may only vote once.

There are three bids to host the event, which are:

• Strength in Unity (South Jeolerina)
• Soldera
• Pasarga

Voters may:

• Accept the bid proposed by South Jeolerina
• Accept the bid proposed by Soldera
• Accept the bid proposed by Pasarga
• Reject the proposed bids and re-open the bidding process

Voting for Copa Rushmori XL Hosting Rights will close at 04:00 UTC on Friday, March 4^th, 2022.

Congratulations to Pasarga on winning the bid. I'm glad that at least a more traditional bid won here, even if it wasn't the bid I put forth.

To be honest, I was considering withdrawing my hosting bid over the past couple of days because RL was taking a turn that would give me much less time to host than I'd anticipated before bidding. It was definitely for the best that someone else is hosting this one. RL becoming what it's becoming, I don't know if I'm going to be able to devote the time necessary to provide quality RPing as Soldera. On that basis and that basis alone, I'm withdrawing from the tournament.
