Are you suggesting that the various noble families of the Reach wouldn't just quietly accept a lowborn mercenary being handed rule of the richest and most fertile land in all the Seven Kingdoms on the basis of a promise extracted at crossbow point under the authority of a mad tyrant Queen whose reign lasted like 2 days?
Season 8 really is just layer upon layer of stupid.

Cersei is Jon's mom.
Just the sexual tension between her and Ned anytime they're together is a sight to behold. Whew, calm down Georgie, please.
Im looking forward to it as well though im gona be a bit cautious which i think is the healthy approach.Valyrian Commonwealth wrote:I enjoy ASOIAF/Game of Thrones, and i am looking forward to the house of dragon

Not particularly thrilled.
I'm just sayin' after the super effects heavy seasons 7 and 8 and how well those were recieved, it seems odd to jump to a story that'll require special effects for like, 50-150 something large flying reptiles.
Likewise, the head writer's main credits are from Hercules (2014) and Rampage, so...

It's going to be the same focus on Hollywood special effects and spectacle scenes ("WOO HOO A DRAGON!"), bland dialogue and cock jokes, and some big promise of a massive payoff that is never delivered.
At some point if GRRM is even consulted, he will leave. And then the studio will go, "Hmmm... it's time to bring D and D back to write this thing."
...
Clearly, they haven't learned. Dragons are a deathtrap.

I dont think the Targaryens had between 50-150 dragons by the reign of Viserys I. In fact i think most of the few dozen dragons they had when the Dance of Dragons began were still quite small and killed in the dragon pit by soldiers.
edit: At least from what i can remember, correct me if im wrong

20 dragons at the end of Viserys I's reign, 4 by the end of the Dance.

Dracula meets a potential ally. Tywin shows up to the tune of Game of Thrones style music.
Tywin: "Let the games begin."
