End of Term speech & Awards for Die Kronzipressen
by British Isles And Commonwealth Realms
As every President before her and all that follow, President Kron took the opportunity of her relinquishing her term as head of state of the UDS to address the Union. In her speech, the President thanked her Cabinet and the Ministerial Staff for their work in the four months of her presidency. She awarded First Class Service medals to Zukchiva, her VP, Phoenix, the Census Minister, and Kade, whose various official titles are too long to state here. She awarded Second Class Service Medals to Glaciosia, Deputy Foreign Minister, and Sacento, Culture Minister. Third Class service medals were awarded to Stewbone and Moe.
Legions of Honour, established by an executive order in August, were awarded upon consultation with Ministers. Legion of Honour (Foreign Affairs) was awarded to Kade, Legions of Honour (Census, and Culture) were awarded to Zukchiva, Legion of Honour (Justice) went to Glaciosia, Legion of Honour (Defence) was bestowed upon Moe and Legion of Honour (Ropleplay) went to Stewbone.

by British Isles And Commonwealth Realms
October is the month for elections in the UDS. Five seats in the senate and the office of the President was up for grabs. As such the Electoral Commission opened nominations form for both positions. Only one person nominated themselves for President, Zukchiva with Sacento as Vice President. For Senate, four people vied for five senate seats, namely Isles, Kron, Stewbone, and StarExplosion. On 8 October, the results came in. Zukchiva was elected President of the Union of Democratic States. Isles, Kron and Stewbone were elected as senators. This left two vacancies in the senate. A further by-election was held in which StarExplosion, Supersaurus, Glaciosia, and North Plegia ran. The results came in on 16th October. Glaciosia and Supersaurus were elected as new senators. The UDS in N-Day 6
by The Glorious Hypetrain
The Union of Democratic States celebrated N-Day 6 as a member of The Potato Alliance (TPA)! The Union and 27 of it's good friends<https://www.nationstates.net/page=dispatch/id=1424757> came together and put up a solid performance against the formidable Crabs of the Apocalypse. TPA held a respectable second place for most of the event and finished high in most categories. The Union eagerly awaits to see what changes may be in store for the next N-Day.UDS-TSP Festival
by Guess and Check
Recently, the Union of Democratic States and the South Pacific witnessed the 4th anniversary of our ratification of the “Treaty of Democratic Unity”, the treaty of alliance between both regions. To celebrate, UDS co-hosted a festival with TSP from September 14th to September 17th, with the final day being the anniversary itself. Game nights were the primary mainstay of the event, with multiple organizers working hard to set up the festival. Ultimately, despite scheduling mishaps and engagement issues, the festival managed to serve as a solid symbol of the hosting regions’ tight bond. It is hoped that this festival will be the start of more cultural interactions with TSP in the future, using the lessons learned from this anniversary festival. Regardless, many thank you’s to TSP, and their Minister of Culture Quebecshire, for agreeing to host the event.Regional Polls
by Sacento
The UDS has continued it's bi-weekly fun polls in order to encourage engagement and activity on the RMB. We have begun a new trial of having each poll continue from the last and eventually creating an accurate depiction of the average unionist. President Guess and Check (Zuk) has been enthusiastic to continue the polls in his administration and it is looking promising as more and more residents answer and interact with the polls, proving them a useful tool for the Government.
