Education systems should teach kids how to start businesses instead of just preparing them for college

Maybe they should for kids who want to go into that field of work, but that wouldn't be useful for me and others at all. Schools should teach a wider range of stuff than they do now imo, but not instead of the stuff they do now.

So it’s more like k-16.

Raise the standard, and you fix a lot of probloms.
But more so that the entire education system needs an overhaul to increase effectiveness.

If you overhauled the education system and made it more effective, I don't think you'd need 17 years of mandatory schooling. If I could get back the precious time of my life wasted on busy work through k-12, I might have a PhD.

I mean, given that we're currently wrestling with whether it's okay for schools to teach facts, I don't think we're getting an overhaul to actually teach things effectively any time soon.

Maybe they should for kids who want to go into that field of work, but that wouldn't be useful for me and others at all. Schools should teach a wider range of stuff than they do now imo, but not instead of the stuff they do now.

If we didn't live in a capitalist society where we NEED work to survive, and starting a business (Private ownership of the means of production and the ability to exploit others in turn) to be successful, we wouldn't need such an inefficient education system where we are forced to learn things we aren't interested about.

It falls apart if someone isn't eligible for military service, such as if they can't pass a physical. Sometimes it is a matter of having good enough eyesight or no major disabilities and not just putting on enough muscle to get able to pass through basic training or various obstacle courses/training regimes.

Can't be an air traffic controller, can't be a pilot, can't be a lot of things without being close enough to 20/20 vision.
