I believe there will be just some heated tension between Poland and Belarus, but I don’t think it would go to full war.

Poland, Lithuania and Latvia are considering activating article 4 of the Washington treaty, amongst other things

Polsat News wrote:The Polish border will be an effective and final barrier for the actions of Aleksander Lukashenko; we are discussing with the premiers of Latvia and Lithuania to activate article 4 of NATO. - said the premier Mateusz Morawiecki when talking to PAP. The article states that "All sides shall consulate with each other, whenever -according to any of them- territorial integrity, political independence or safety are endangered"

- We are discussing with Latvia and in particular Lithuania, whether not to activate article 4 of NATO. This solution, which I predict, where all parties will consulate each other, whenever according to any of them any of these are endangered: Territorial integrity, political independence or safety of any nation inside the alliance - said the premier when asked about the conclusion of the talks with the premiers of the above mentioned countries.

- It appears, that this is needed more and more. Because it is no longer enough for us to express our concern publicly - right now concrete steps and the commitment of the entire alliance is needed - added Morawiecki

Morawiecki: words aren't enough to stop the Belarusian regime
- The Polish border will be an effective and final barrier for the actions of Lukashenko. There is no doubt that this has gone far enough. We know that words aren't enough to stop the Belarusian regime - said Morawiecki, when asked about the course of negotiations with the EU about sanctions on the Lukashenko regime.

He reported that the Polish government "has the awareness, that harsher sanctions are needed", and underlined that he is in everyday contact with the leaders of the EU about the crisis that is happening on the Polish-Belarusian border.

- We are coopreating very closely with the premiers of Latvia and Lithuania, I talked with them on Saturday. A few days ago I met up with the leader of the European Council Charles Michel, before that I contacted the leader of the European Commission Ursula von den Leyen, which recently spoke to president Joe Biden. President Biden is already aware of the provocative actions on the side of Lukashenko - said the premier.

Morawiecki: a possibility of closing the border with Belarus
He underlined that "in the EU there is a rising argument that the crisis is not just about Poland, Latvia and Lithuania, but it's about unity" and that there will be an international discussion about further sanctions put on Belarus.

- Including the complete closure of the border, thus cutting the regime from economic benefits - informed Morawiecki.

- We will discuss additional sanctions during the next special summit of the European Council, that I have requested - he added.

Morawiecki: blocking access to the EU is far from enough
He remarked that he agrees with the leader of BNN Pawel Soloch, who said that the adoption of a list of persons and entities subject to sanctions by the EU is a "step in a right direction", but Poland should strive for more pressure.

- Blocking the access to the EU to people around Lukashenko is an important action, but it's far from enough. That's why in the last few days we undertook very intensive diplomatic efforts to block those airline who are directly involved in smuggling migrants to Belarus - said the premier.

- Our actions have already proven - to some degree - successful. Both Turkish and Iraqi airlines have pledged that they will refrain from the scenario written in Minsk. I would also point out that our forces have already stopped over 400 people who were smuggling migrants. These people will be charged - the head of government indicated.

Morawiecki: lies, manipulation and disinformation are basic weapons of the Russians
During the interview the premier was also asked about Friday's podcast, in which he reminded that a hybrid war is primarily fought on the field of information and that Belarusian forces are putting manipulated pictures and recordings in media circulation. - Lies, manipulation and disinformation are basic weapons of the Russians, and as of now also Belarusians. The Soviets were masters of this and these skills did not dissipate after the fall of the Soviet Union - said Morawiecki as his answer. He underlined that "today we experienced that with enormous intensity".

- As an example let's take a take from an American station, in which they described the situation on the Polish-Belarusian border. When I saw it my hairs stood up. It was obvious manipulation. I am afraid that some reporters, who are grateful to be allowed to go to places where the migrants are staying, will do and say what Lukashenko will want them to. This is how alternative history is made, in which the guilty are whitewashed and the responsibility is thrown upon Poland - said the premier.

- If the migrants need humanitarian aid, we are ready to give them any amount of food, medicine, warn clothes, sleeping bags. All that is needed is that the Belarusian authorities need to stop blocking transports, which we have sent mutible times - he added.

Morawiecki appeals to journalists. "Don't be fooled into the temptation of clicks"
When asked about the actions taken by the government to stop these manipulations, he pointed out that "a lie can only be fought with the truth" - This is why we created a special information portal with pictures and videos, because to this offensive of disinformation by Lukashenko and his principals we must answer with a counteroffensive of information - he said.

He also appealed to the journalists, to not be fooled by the "temptation of clicks".

- We all know that sensational news sell the best, but on this logic the modern Belarusian regime feasts upon. This is why only reliable, confirmed information is the best weapon against the Belarusian disinformation machine - said the premier.

Morawiecki: The Belarusian regime has to disposition two types of "weapons"
In the interview, he also referred to the information about releasing journalist to the near-border region.

- The Belarusian regime has to disposition two types of "weapons": using people as living shields and disinformation. I have no concerns if it comes to sharing truthful data on the border, but I am afraid that when the cameras are there the provocations will only get worse - he said.

- Today the situation is so tense, that in the event of breaking the cordon on the border, the journalists would be exposed to immediate threat to their health and life - he added.

Morawiecki: the whole community should jointly contribute to the border protection project
- We need new solutions at the statutory level and we are finalizing the development of such solutions. The project in a state of urgency will be presented in the upcoming week. We will definitely implementing additional rules which will, in the long run, let our authorities operate more effectively - responded Morawiecki when asked about the impossibility of extending the state of emergency.

When asked about unofficial information that because of the crisis on the Polish-Belarusian border, the European Commission proposed raising the fund in the International Border Management Fund (IBMF) by 25 million euros, he replied that "Today Poland not only protects it's own territory, but also the entire EU".

- But we will not wait until any funds are committed. In any case 25 million euros will not be enough to solve the problem. It is good to remember that the border wall will cost more than 1 million PLN; maybe even more than 1,5 million PLN. It is clear to me that the whole community should jointly contribute to the project. Everyday Poland bears high costs to defend the eastern border of the Union - said Morawiecki

The Geneva convention is the UNICEF of prostitutes - everyone violates her, but it's free.

Was it enforced against the United States for dumping Agent Orange on a significant percentage of the total surface area of Vietnam, and all the birth defects which that caused, and are still causing? Was it enforced against the United States, again, for using depleted uranium munitions in Iraq, which have disintegrated into the environment and caused civilian cancers? Was it enforced against them, a third time, for using white phosphorous in Iraq, again, chemically burning people to death?

No? No? And, no?

That is because it is not a real thing.

Upon reflection, there's probably some sort of bad dynamic going on in the forum to where, if I read nine posts that sort of make sense about something, and one which is just a sore thumb sticking out against common sense, I respond to the squeaky wheel. Low quality generates higher engagement, because it's more memorable. I'm sure I'm not the only one who does this.

Yeah, but, no. Invade Belarus, and you invade Russia. Call up Napoleon and Hitler, ask them what the baseline result of that is, and then try to catch them up to speed about nuclear stockpiles.

No one wants to do this. Some civil magistrate euroslav can cry about it, and say that he's going to go tell on you to his dad in Washington. Washington has already thought this issue to death, and in fact, significantly advanced formal systems of thought (game theory) just to think about it. They will not come to some different conclusion because one of their vassal states' talking heads is talking out of his head. Vassals get to pay tribute, and in exchange, they don't get a color revolution. That is the deal. There is no other clause in the deal.

The weaponization of migrants by Biełaruś because they are angry at their neighbors for offering asylum to Cichanoŭskaja (Lithaunia and Poland) and Cimanoŭskaja (Poland) and for EU sanctions over their disruption of civilian air traffic for political ends (mainly impacts Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland) is disgusting and immoral. Migrants have reported that Biełaruśian border guards have robbed them before taking them to the border and broken the legs to punish those who fail to make it across, which further demonstrates they have no interest in the migrants as anything other than a political tool.

Call up Piłsudski instead and ask him what the result is; if there is military conflict (which is unlikely) it won't be France and Germany leading it up.

if belarus invades and article 4 is activated then russia will immediately disown belarus. the last thing russia wants is this conflict just like how the last thing the PRC wants is a second korean war insigated by the DPRK

There is no other clause in the deal.

if belarus invades and article 4 is activated then russia will immediately disown belarus. the last thing russia wants is this conflict just like how the last thing the PRC wants is a second korean war insigated by the DPRK

Which is why Belarus won't invade (nor will Belarus be invaded). This is all an overblown bunch of horsecrap that won't mean anything in the long run.

Russia has already told Belarus to tone down the threats and to not threaten to shut off the gas.

If Belarus does start a war it would be over pretty quickly due to Russia overthrowing the government

Why don't you call up Putin if he wants to face the combined strength of NATO in Belarus? I'm sure he will do something as stupid as sacrificing Russia for the sake of Minsk, right?

A street fight between national leaders reads like an amusing idea for an RP, ngl.

I'm in favor of having national leaders duel. better than having countless young adults die in their place.

I would think the 300 or so NATO aligned warplanes would deal with Belarus quite quickly. Not to mention the hundreds of Tomahawks that will come crashing down upon their heads. As for nukes being used? Who here is willing to take wagers that over half of the nuclear stockpile of Russia wouldn't even detonate if they tried to use them? This is Lushenko being Lushenko and nothing more. Poland on the other hand really should tone it back as well, lest Putin decide to make Gdańsk part of the new Soviet Union.
Sarcasm dispensed moderately.
