Introduction

Welcome to the ninth edition of The CMFA Melayu Archipelago Cup. The CMFA Melayu Archipelago Cup is the most prestigious football championship in the region of Melayu Archipelago. The championship is organized and managed by the regional football confederation named Confederation of Melayu Football Associations (CMFA).

Participation

Any nation who wants to participate in the championship must first be an active member of the CMFA and membership to the CMFA is limited to Melayu Archipelago nations only unless otherwise notified. Continuing tradition, Trolleborg will receive an invite as a pre-invited nation to the Melayu Archipelago Cup.

Sign up for the championship in this thread. Submit your host bid in this thread too if you wish to host the tournament. Hosting shall be determined by a host bid vote, those wishing to host should be well-versed in Xkoranate. A tournament like this serves as an excellent launching point for those wishing to get into hosting.

Berdeng Bundok host bid for CMFA MAC 9

Format

I would like to try to get to 16 entrants again as this is a very convenient number to work with. Should we do so, the tournament will have 4 groups of 4 playing single round robin, and the two teams from each group advancing to a single elimination knockout bracket (plus a 3PPO). Should we not do so, the same basic format (SRR group + SE knockouts) will be used but there may be an extra play-in round to get the numbers right. Tiebreakers will be points, goal difference, H2H results, coin flip.

3 RP bonus points available per MD plus 3 roster bonus points. There will be a small optional prompt posted with each cutoff to inspire those struggling for ideas. At the end of the tournament a Best XI will be announced.

Experience

With some of my other nations, I have hosted two prior regionals: Copa Rushmori 36 (co-hosted with Tikariot) and Campianato Esportiva 29 (solo). Other football tournaments I have hosted include Baptisms of Fire 38 and 74, and Cup of Harmony 80. I have hosted other tournaments in other sports. This will be my first hosting with Berdeng Bundok.

BCEL Beverage Corporation of Baker Park, the Commonwealth's largest non-alcoholic (and alcoholic) beverage producer, submits a proposal to provide sponsorship to the CMFA for the Melayu Archipelago Cup.
Baker Park have a history of competitive relationships with members of the CMFA, and BCEL sees this as a way to strengthen ties with nations in the Melayu Archipelago beyond sport.

BCEL's first overseas expansion was an agreement to sell it's Chappy Cola and Pittman's Soft Drink lines within the Kingdom of Banija, which also included the naming rights to the stadium in Jinja City, now known as the BCEL Stadium--which has played host to matches in the Baptism of Fire 67, AOCAF LVIII and World Cups 81 & 83--and the company were awarded the rights to be the Official Beverage provider for World Cup 83.
