I'll make sure you'll be well-rewarded for your work with me.

That's the point. Since meeting with the governor and other high-ranking officials could help me net me a good contract. Still going after the corvette, but holding off until I at least have a max ship full of merc. Since Zevos probably got like 60-80 pirates, maybe even more by the time I want to fight him.

Up to you :)

You basically do one or more actions each post, I, as the Galaxy, respond to them and when needed roll some dice and check your stats to see if you are successful or not.

An action can be anything from leaving a planet and start a flight to someplace else, look for merc-work on the nets, try to get star-charts to some unexplored region etc.

Would you like to look at the old iteration of GA for some tips?

Might be a good move to link the old ooc or IC in the OP of the thread anyways.

Also, can I just say that Leon and Ket have arrived/are about to arrive at their destination in my first post?

True, I'll be going ahead and doing that.

Sure sounds good. Go ahead and drop out of FTL in the system in your opening post.

How does Port Victory look like and I'm guessing that Kyr and Clan Van are giving VIP treatment?

It's recovering, slowly but steadily, the rubble had been cleared, the heavily damaged buildings have been disassembled and the usable parts had been used to repair the less damaged ones. The city is large built with pre-fab materials and it's outskirts still have some prefab first-in colonial buildings. The main administrative building is located in the center near a large park with memorials dedicated to the original pioneers that settled the planet. They'll be warmly greeted, people will be happy that there's someone fighting back against the pirates up in space.

I’ve got exams coming up, so I might be less active than usual.

Name: Audax Veni
Gender: N/A
Species: Ellirean
Class: Explorer
Bio: Audax was born on the Ellirean fringe colony of Alucia, which borders Pythean space. Their parents were an Ellirean xenobiologist called Juehaar and a Pythean detective named Sacherin. They had a stable relationship free of any major troubles or issues. An only child, Audax enjoyed a childhood filled with learning and curiousity. Sacherin taught them how to look at problems rationally, and to resolve them through use of logic and thought. Juehaar showed them that most things in the universe are not necessarily hostile or dangerous, and that the galaxy is filled with wonderous things to be discovered and learned from. As a result of these lessons, Audax became a rather idealistic person who believed that the universe existed to be learned from, experienced, and enjoyed to its fullest extent. They harboured ambitions of being an explorer on the frontier, of discovering fascinating new beings and places like the brave and cunning heroes in the storybooks their parents had read to them.

These ambitions did not fade with time, and if anything became stronger throughout their childhood and early adolescence. Once they were a young adult, they said goodbye to their parents and travelled to a nearby more populous planet to study at a prestigious spaceflight academy in preperation for their career as an explorer. Unbeknownst to Audax, that goodbye would be the last thing they said to their parents face-to-face. At the academy, they specialised in xenobiology like Juehaar, and gained a significant amount of skill in it. They were a star student, often being praised for their intelligence and enthusiasm, and for going above and beyond what their teachers expected of them. Unfortunately, about a year after they enrolled, a anomalous crystal-based spacefaring entity attacked and destroyed the colony on Alucia, killing everyone there including his parents. It then fled in the direction of the Outer Rim. Audax was deeply grieved by this, and became more quiet and introverted over the following months.

Despite this, Audax did not hold a grudge against the entity, believing that it may well have not understood the significance of the people it was consuming, and reasoning that even if it was intelligent enough to truly be responsible for its actions, studying it and learning from it would make sure that their parents' deaths weren't in vain, and would provide far more closure than simply destroying it. During the rest of his time at the academy, he amassed a significant group of friends who also saw the appeal of travelling through the stars and discovering wonderous new things. After they graduated, they pooled their funds to buy a used Brigantine and other equiqment they would need to be sucsessful explorers. They then undertook a journey to Sathas, the last stop before they reached truly undiscovered territory. There, they found a local scholar who was interested in joining their crew in exchange for being able to publish his findings free of any impediment. Audax gladly accepted.
Equipment: Senemarys C32, Space Suit, Light Armour, 350 Credits
Crew: Audax's crew is mostly made up of his friends from the academy. They have little practical experience, and may panic if they face sudden, unexpected danger. Blatantly supernatural phenomena will definitely unsettle them, as at the academy they were taught that such things were mostly made up by superstitious spacefarers, and that if they do exist, they are very rare. However, they more than make up for it with their loyalty to Audax and each other, as well as their talent and inginuity. They all also have a level of general basic science training.
First Officer: Eyalla, Ellirean, from the academy
Pilot: Oleen, Ellirean, from the academy
Copilot: Requil, Ellirean, from the academy

Gunner/Security Officer: Necatrix, Pythean, from the academy
Gunner/Assistant Scientist: Jinim, Ellirean, from the academy
Medical Officer/Scientist: Jane, Human, from the academy
Scientist/Physics Expert: Genar, Ellirean, from the academy
Local Guide/Scholar documenting the mysteries of the Outer Rim: Tassin, Emyaar, local
Ship: Inquisitive, a Yodos-Class Brigantine.
Cargo space: 125 units
Weapons: 4 Retractable Point Defense Guns - 2 Turreted Light Mass Accelerators
Utilities: Med-Bay - Deployable Rover
Utility Slots Available: 2
Crew Capacity: 50
Stat Rankings: Brawn 10, Brain 30, Heart 25, Guile 10
Traits: None
Carryovers: Senemarys C32 x3, Light Armour x2, Chuckchin Stars Chart, 190 credits. I think this replaces starting equipment rather than being in addition to it.
Other: The Crystal Entity might be a good plot hook for something, if one is needed.

Love to see you back, accepted! And no worries about exams, post when you can. This is a chill, laid back sort of RP.

Hmmm I'd say around 130/140-ish. Though if you're wealthy and have more access to rejuvenation therapy, organ replacements, cybernetics etc you can probably push 180/200.

Are there any Dunkidor on Zopohon? The place where Sam went to in order to try and get an alliance between the ice planet and Ylem?

Hmmm I wouldn't think there are any real permanent communities of them there no, maybe some spacer-clans coming through every now and then but that's about it.

Also, the first two updates are done, expect a post in a day or two 8)

Damn, looks like an actual proper trip to the Port really is in order. Repair the Fly, recruit some ducks, wage war against Zevos.

I think it was built up since episode one. Kyr has a bounty on her head and taking Zevos down will give Ylem a big help in deterring pirates. Just going to be an uphill battle no matter what.

Not really no, a serving military char would play significantly different from the independent chars we have going here. I have a military spinoff of GA planned for the future though.

Hey Hungry, do I earn any fame from destroying the two pirates? I know that Tau earned 2 fame for running the blockade and I was just wondering myself. Also can you give me more info on the space station?
