A-SRM-2 "BAYONET" IR AAM

Image

OVERVIEW

When given the choice of settling for established armaments or forging a new path, Lauzanne has typically gone for the latter option. This is true of small arms, armoured and unarmoured vehicles, and now aircraft and armaments. Not content with what was on offer, Akulov Dynamics set out to create a new compact IR Imaging AAM to fit to all current and future LAF aircraft.

Equipped with a modern Imaging IR system designed to be as resistant to countermeasures as possible, the Bayonet lends itself well to engaging fast moving targets, enemy aircraft, cruise missiles and rotary-wing aircraft. It's compact to fit inside the smaller bays present on many 5th generation aircraft, providing a potent backup to the main complement of medium-range AAMs that would no doubt be present on such machines. Such missiles can also fit onto any plane that can mount the R-73 missile system, substantially improving the firepower of a given plane without having to go through a costly avionics upgrade.

A-MRM-2 "Shashka" ARH AAM

Postby Lauzanne » Sun Mar 28, 2021 2:29 pm

A-MRM-2 "SHASHKA" ARH AAM

Image

OVERVIEW

To compliment the Bayonet in air-air combat, the Lauzanneans turned to their good friends at Royal Marquesan Exports for a missile to phase out and eventually replace the R-27 and R-77 missiles in LAF service. However, the best fit for the job was the OGM.189 "Misericorde" missile that used IR seeking at BVR ranges. Given LAF experiences with ARH missiles, a modification was permitted, and the missile was re-designated the "Shashka" after receiving an active-radar seeker head.

Using much of the same body permits a cheaper and quicker modification process as opposed to a wholly new development. The only real difference between the Misericorde and the Shashka is purely the seeker head.

S-UMP-100 "Kisten" Small Diameter Bomb

Postby Lauzanne » Sun Mar 28, 2021 2:43 pm

S-UMP-100 "KISTEN" SMALL DIAMETER BOMB

Image

OVERVIEW

With warfare shifting heavily towards the usage of smaller, better guided munitions over their larger counterparts, Lauzanne soon followed the trend. Impressed with the performance of the GBU-39, Lauzannean engineers at Blanchard Manufacturing and Cerny Optical soon got to work on Lauzanne's answer to the GBU-39.

Although slightly thicker and possessing a slightly shorter range, the Kisten is significantly cheaper than it's primary competitor, the GBU-53. Modular seeker heads allow flexibility in a mission profile without having to spend over double the cost for such performance gains. the Kisten is capable of engaging moving targets, as well as soft-skinned and armoured vehicles, structures, bunkers and command posts.

The main advantage in using a small-diameter bomb like so is it's precision, range and portability. With a range approaching 100km when launched from high altitude and excellent accuracy, it allows for the destruction of all but the hardest to reach targets. Another benefit is weight and compactness: Instead of a single 500kg bomb, instead two to four Kistens could be carried, allowing greater flexibility and capability to cover soldiers on the ground or strike more targets of opportunity.

SPECS

Name: S-UMP-100 "Kisten"
Mass: 100 KG
Length: 1.7 Meters
Diameter: 200mm

Performance Envelope:100km range (stationary target), 60km range (Moving target)
Guidance Systems: GPS/INS with datalink, terminal guidance provided by either Electro-Optical/Infra-red, Active millimeter-wave radar, or laser-guidance to target.
Warhead Configuration:50 Kgs Aluminum-Enhanced HMX
Warhead Fuzing: Impact/Delay Impact

Cost Per Unit: 80,000$ NSD per unit, 80,000,000$ NSD for DPR rights.

LOSM-1 "Lantset" Low-Observable Standoff Missile

Postby Lauzanne » Fri May 14, 2021 4:00 am

LOSM-1 "LANTSET" LOW-OBSERVABLE STANDOFF MISSILE

Image

OVERVIEW

With the trend of low observability in the modern day, the Lantset was designed utilising much of the same technology as the Marquesan Morningstar missile, the Lantset saw limited use in the Spring War's later years, destroying Red Star Army air defences, depots and command centers. LAF pilots found great success owing to limited reaction times from air defences along with high precision against targets.

The Lantset LOSM is a low-observable air launched subsonic cruise missile designed for destroying bridges, air defence systems, command posts, hangars, hardened above-ground targets and ships. With a combination of GPS/INS, a small electro-optical/IR camera in the upper part of the nose, and radar guidance, the Lantset can engage all of these targets through use of one or multiple systems. With programmability in mind, the Lantset can engage specific chosen targets with a low chance of engaging the wrong target.

The Lantset is also designed to fit inside stealth fighter bays, such as the Vampir and Dracul fighters.

SPECS

Name: LOSM-1 "Lantset"
Mass: 1,050 KG
Length: 4.2 Meters
Diameter: 340mm

Performance Envelope: Up to 700km range
Guidance Systems: GPS/INS with datalink, terminal guidance provided by Electro-Optical/IR, Radar or GPS.
Warhead Configuration: 480kg PBW-L-1 Penetrator/Blast Warhead
Warhead Fuzing: Impact/Delay Impact/Penetration Delay

Cost Per Unit: $1,300,000 NSD Per Unit, $1.3 Billion NSD for DPR

S-UM-1000 Bomb

Postby Lauzanne » Sat Jun 12, 2021 8:49 am

S-UM-1000 GLIDE BOMB

Image

OVERVIEW

Lauzanne's stocks of guided and unguided bombs ran low during the Spring War, with little in the way of replenishment from an external source. Under an emergency rapid contract, Blanchard Manufacturing had developed the S-UM-1000 in the span of three months, alongside the 500 and 250kg models. Such bombs were used often in the Spring War, carried by almost all combat planes in the LAF including the massive Tu-22M Backfires.

With a greater need for precision, Akulov Dynamics also provided a guidance kit for all three sizes of bomb to allow greater precision and less collateral damage when engaging insurgent positions. When insurgents were supplied with Soviet-era SAM systems, the ER kit was added on, adding wings and a rocket motor to the bomb to give enhanced range, allowing launching platforms to be outside of the range of hostile short and medium range SAMs.

The S-UM-1000G and ER are designed to be able to also fit into stealth bays, such as those on the Vampir and Dracul.

SPECS

Name: S-UM-1000/G/ER

Postby Lauzanne » Sat Jun 12, 2021 9:16 am

S-UM-2000 GLIDE BOMB

Image

OVERVIEW

Submitted as part of an emergency request for oversize munitions in the tail end of the Spring War in breaching Soviet-era bunkers that had been refurbished by insurgents, Blanchard Manufacturing developed the S-UM-2000 in the extremely short timeframe of two months. S-UM-2000 bombs are utilised by the LAF to destroy bunkers and large facilities, along with insurgent depots and large-scale vehicle areas.

The body is made out of a lengthened S-UM-1000 case, with the same guidance kit tailfins and nose installed from Akulov Dynamics to allow for greater precision from a launch platform to target.

Please note that such bombs do NOT fit inside XF-2 Vampir bays and are considered oversize munitions. the Dracul can carry two in the centreline bay.

S-UM-250 GLIDE BOMB

Image

OVERVIEW

Lauzanne's stocks of guided and unguided bombs ran low during the Spring War, with little in the way of replenishment from an external source. Under an emergency rapid contract, Blanchard Manufacturing had developed the S-UM-250 in the span of three months, alongside the 500 and 1000kg models. Such bombs were used often in the Spring War, carried by all standard combat planes in service such as the MiG-21 and MiG-23, developments which greatly increased their performance later on with the addition of the guidance kit.

With a greater need for precision, Akulov Dynamics also provided a guidance kit for all three sizes of bomb to allow greater precision and less collateral damage when engaging insurgent positions. When insurgents were supplied with Soviet-era SAM systems, the ER kit was added on, adding a rocket motor to the bomb to give enhanced range, allowing launching platforms to be outside of the range of hostile short and medium range SAMs.

The S-UM-250 is the smallest of the four bombs, but is also the cheapest by far and was the most commonly used, with the total number dropped in the thousands. Accurate, long-ranged and lightweight, the S-UM-250 earned it's place in the LAF inventory well in the Spring War.

S-SOM-500 Glide Bomb

Postby Lauzanne » Fri Jan 28, 2022 2:33 pm

S-SOM-500 GLIDE BOMB

Image

OVERVIEW

With a new outlook on the use of precision weapons and an updated doctrine, the Groza was to be fitted with a multi-purpose glide powered stand-off munition. With a longer range than the S-UM series weapons, a low radar and IR visibility, and a large bay for a variety of weapons loads with minimal difference between the various models. With the threat of large amounts of armour, a cluster munition was added to the requirements, using the BM-30's anti tank cluster munitions as a basis.

the SOM-500 is a long-range, precision guided munition that can be carried by tactical aircraft and in most stealth weapons bays. It can be fitted with a variety of warheads, however the SOM-500Q is considered RESTRICTED for sale to non-allied nations.

The S-SOM-D-500 is the cluster munitions dispenser, intended to destroy masses of vehicles or other infra-red emitting sources. To do this, it dispenses 10 DM-3MP cluster munitions when detecting enemy vehicles, as shown in the diagram below.

1. The SOM-D will fly towards the area indicated by the pilot, with a waypoint system allowing limited flight capabilities and positioning for it's overflight run.
2. When the weapon arrives at the indicated area, it jettisons it's protective cover, revealing the 10 cluster munitions present. It will detect the vehicles using the forward IR sensor, releasing up to 5 cluster munitions at a time.
3 + 4. The DM-3MP rounds will dispense their parachutes, slowing it down over the target and allowing it to face downwards. The munition will also begin to spin, allowing it to yaw and locate targets as necessary
5. The dual laser/IR seeker will then slide out into the active position as the unit spins around.
6. An IR sensor and an active laser rangefinder locate the target, confirming validity and range to the vehicle.
7. The explosive charge detonates, sending a copper EFP at the target and fragmentation affects in an area around it. Should detonation not occur, 60 seconds after being dispensed the munition will go off, reducing UXO.

LM-10 "Stilet-1" Loitering Munition

Postby Lauzanne » Fri Feb 24, 2023 1:38 am

LM-10 "STILET-1" LOITERING MUNITION

Image

OVERVIEW

With the early development and deployment of lightweight loitering munitions or "kamikaze drones" as they are also referred to, Lauzannean counter-insurgency units in the Global War on Terror needed their own. The initially developed version was the LM-1, originally named "Stilet". It was of a comparable size to the SwitchBlade 300, using a warhead from the common RGD-5 hand grenade. Nicknamed the "Flying Shotgun" for it's overall effects, the Stilet was considered unpopular among the Airborne forces that employed them.

However, the company Elektroteknika was studying uses for these munitions, leading to them pursuing their own line of loitering munitions. Equipped with common bodies, engines and sensor packages, the family was adopted in the midst of the Spring War, serving from 2016 to the present in its various forms.

The LM-10 "Stilet-1" is the smallest of the five Elektroteknika-developed loitering munitions, intended for infantry usage and light vehicles. The LM-10 can use a dedicated ground station for controlling the munition, however it is more commonly piloted by platoon and squad-level commanders using commercial phones and tablets, as shown. The warhead consists of either a tandem HEAT or multipurpose munition common to the L-12A1 rocket launcher, and is powered by an electric engine. Command is done via line of sight to the munition.

Their service in the Spring War was considered invaluable, being an incredibly cheap munition used to disable lighter vehicles, enemies in fortifications or cover, and also providing limited overwatch during its flight time. The man-in-the-loop nature prevents many potential instances of friendly fire, and the producible nature of the weapon means that it can be widely adopted by any military seeking reconnaissance and precision strike without the need for expensive laser designators or well-trained pilots.

LM-20 "Stilet-2" Loitering Munition

Postby Lauzanne » Fri Feb 24, 2023 1:53 am

LM-20 "STILET-2" LOITERING MUNITION

Image

OVERVIEW

Serving as a larger counterpart to the LM-10 "Stilet-1" loitering munition, Elektroteknika included the LM-20 to its family as a dedicated anti-tank loitering munition. With the threat of Ulyanian tank divisions trundling towards Lauzanne's borders a constant threat, the inclusion of the munition is seen as a very smart move. Retaining the same engine, electro-optical guidance system and navigation methods, the main method of distinguishing the LM-20 from the LM-10 is the characteristic "Bulge" for the larger warhead present.

Seeing use in the Spring War alongside the LM-10, the LM-20 was also called the Flying Spear for the impressive anti-armour capabilities. When used against the T-72s and the T-80s supplied to the Red Star Army, the old Soviet-era vehicles fared poorly against the dedicated Tandem-HEAT charge shared with the Contender family of ATGMs. It also had some overwatch and multi-purpose capabilities, allowing for loitering munitions to observe an area under infantry advance and to destroy potential ambushers.

Using the same guidance methods as the LM-10 allows for easy operation by the crew of a potential weapon, allowing the common battle management software to delegate munitions to be controlled by platoon and even squad-level leaders to ensure precise delivery where needed and extra situational awareness.

LM-50 "Falchion-1" Loitering Munition

Postby Lauzanne » Fri Feb 24, 2023 2:05 am

LM-50 "FALCHION-1" LOITERING MUNITION

Image

OVERVIEW

Although not as quickly integrated into the Army, only coming online in the latter part of 2018, the impact of the "Falchion" loitering munitions is considered more limited compared to its infantry counterparts. Nonetheless, the LM-50 was employed somewhat when attached via pods to M-13 Visyan MLRS units, providing precise fires and protection to units against vehicles & infantry, as well as being able to identify and strike hideouts.

Contrary to its lighter cousins, the LM-50 is exclusively vehicle mounted due to its weight. The tradeoff is a much large multipurpose warhead rendering it useful for engaging tanks, buildings, small watercraft, and other installations. Coupled with a higher range and endurance as well as the ability of a Visyan to carry up to eight in a single pod, the LM-50 is a potent tool for swarm attacks and other tactics where a single munition might not work.

The LM-50 can also be integrated to work off of corvettes and frigates, providing quick ISR and strike capabilities where a full-size missile is considered wasteful and the target is outside the range of a ship's gun.

LM-100 "Falchion-2" Loitering Munition

Postby Lauzanne » Fri Feb 24, 2023 2:12 am

LM-100 "FALCHION-2" LOITERING MUNITION

Image

OVERVIEW

With the family of weapons so far being configured for vehicles, mobile threats and infantry, the LM-100 is a departure from this tradition. Designed for striking deep depots, reinforcement points, small watercraft and other high-value targets, the LM-100 has not yet seen use in armed conflicts. Another departure from the earlier ones is the use of a petrol engine, giving far more range at the cost of emitting more noise.

With a fully rotatable camera, the LM-100 is also equipped with thermals to better distinguish targets. The LM-100 and LM-150 are also configured for the possibility of being launched from ships to support infantry ashore or striking things such as anti-ship missile batteries.

The LM-100 is also not designed for direct control by infantry units, however in some circumstances this can be achieved.

LM-150 "FALCHION-3" LOITERING MUNITION

Image

OVERVIEW

The largest in the Elektroteknika family of loitering munitions, the LM-150 represents the peak of current Lauzannean loitering munitions capability. Long range, high endurance and a massive 50kg warhead with which to destroy a variety of targets with precision. Sharing its explosive potential with the "kisten" small diameter bomb, the Falchion-3 is designed to be used against command posts, small frigate-size warships, heavily-armoured vehicles, trains & bridges.

Launched from the M-13 Visyan or other adapted launchers, the Falchion delivers cheap precision without the need for expensive aircraft and rigorous multirole training.

The LM-150 is also not designed for direct control by infantry units, however in some circumstances this can be achieved.
