I can set one up for the history side; would it be a kind of "roleplay parts of history" style or like a factbook style, were you thinking?

I would probably say RP parts of history more than factbooks, it would just be in general posts about one's self and the development their colonies. Interactions would be mainly for trade and explaining possible current tensions, as setting up a retroactive war would be a little difficult.

The ever so industrious and expansionist regime has set their beady eyes on the craxx peninsula, and they have come bearing words of a dawn of a new age for the natives, a socalist utopia. With the ambition of establishing a socalist state in this abandoned isle, they bring their tracked engineer vehicles and prefabricated buildings, and security forces that are planning to entrench themselves along the border of their claim.
The Antarticans are hoping to gain two things from this
1) more territory to house population.
2)for settlements to serve as supply depots for millitary units during long voyages

With the continuing diplomatic tensions with the Russian Federation and the United States of America for the hoarding of the planet's resources and the new arms race, the young European Federation has always found itself between the cold and the hammer.
In order to try to increase its power more and more and compete with other superpowers, Europe has had to take advantage of every opportunity to become the nation it is now, without being too scrupulous. Including the current one.
The satellites showed a series of lands of a now fallen empire, destroyed by a nuclear war. But the land is still usable and ready to have new owners.
The aim of the European Federation will be to settle down and have its piece of the pie, exploiting and collecting all the resources it can. To do so, Paris has already sent a 2,000-man regiment of the European Federation Enforcer Corps (EFEC) to clear the land and garrison the area. The command of the operations was entrusted to Colonel Thierry Dubois, settling with his men at Fort Jupiter to monitor the situation.
Meanwhile, some of the most important European companies for the mining and oil industry are already taking action to send their employees and their families to New Europe, thus starting a new era of European colonialism.

I'm a bit confused. So, this thread is for news. And this thread is for history. Where do I post if I just want to write a short story about events currently transpiring in my claim? Something that's just IC going on, not really an RP—maybe something that could inspire or incentivise others perhaps, a hook and such—but also not just news or something happening in the past. Like, say, a simple encounter between a Prut patrol and a crazed irradiated Craxx holdout a la Fumio Nakahara or Hiroo Onoda? Where do I write that?

Perhaps a thread revolving around the singular stories of how the remainders of the Craxx Empire are being dealt with?

I could create such a thread if that sounds alright. Problem is to somehow differentiate the contents of these singular encounters with similar ones that would happen in larger threads.

On this, your RP is your own if that makes sense. So Neo Prutenia if you want to RP something, create a thread and update here about it, so that if people want to join your RP they can. The history is a catch-all so history is in one place to review, but RPs in the present are entirely up to you and anyone else to create so you can RP things out. I hope that helps!

Andlandi was settled by the Roman Estomik Republic, as part of the coalition, after the fall of the Craxx empire with the intent of establishing a full military installation overseas. Since developing it -with reserved high-profile test sites and an advanced R&D military apparatus- the island increased its commercial vocation to become an important trade post for the Republic destining almost half of the colony's area into commercial use. WIth more private companies settling and garnering power in the island, the colony's balance of power has been slowly shifting into the hands of the big transport companies. Governor Frédérique Arreola represents the president as Supreme Administrative Head, is the Joint Military Marshall, along with Major General Felipe Agua, and exercises ultimate civil authority in the colony.

Synopsis: The Ordenite Reich has eyed the strategically vital Dreadfort Bay for some time. It decides that the seizure of the cluster of islands within the Bay are necessary to exert Ordenite influence over the area and intend on partially militarizing the islands to support Kriegsmarine and Luftwaffe operations.

Maybe I am a bit late, but I think that in the resource maps we could add areas suitable for agriculture / livestock. And it would be nice to have a Key for biome and height maps.

Wasn't that addressed in the summarisation of the various locations here? It's descriptive rather than factual, but it's a good start. And I doubt local livestock would have made it through war, nuclear bombardment, and the subsequent implied societal collapse and presumably famine. You'd be better off 'importing' livestock from the metropole. On the bright side, as long as an area isn't irradiated, it would make a great pasture

RP'd land claims by UWO and Techno have been added as well.
*Eyes UWO suspiciously*

Also Romextly's flag has been added because I'm absolute tool and forgot the first time.

So... the livestock agricultural aspect... I have now included it but in only the sense that there are prime real estate locations. I did it bit randomly and focused on low land and hilly areas. In truth, you could probably do it anywhere, but decent locations have been plopped down. To be honest, if you want some thing specific for your territory like that then I could wriggle it in.

I will post the biome key up shortly. It is generated by the browser map programme and can be edited, so again, if you feel you want something a little different/realistic then I'll make the change.

The height stuff is weird on the map. I can't get it to display height markers. But if you upload the .map file to the website and view the with the Heightmap Layer the altitudes are displayed at the bottom of the page and detail it depending where your cursor is. But for quick context, the highest point on the Alacian Mountains on Retrinhes is a smidge shorter than K2.

Description of your claim:
The Grand Theocratic Empire entered the war, and the warzone, later than the other allied powers but it was no less aggressive for it. It participated in the heavy fighting that characterized the war, most prominently in western Retrinhes and the northern Stanter Isles. After the war, it remained in the island formerly known as Rexxasar, which it scrubbed clean of the enemy. The island proved valuable for its relatively clean environment suitable for agricultural exploitation, a rarity for the Theocracy. As such, it was quickly deemed valuable and the Theocracy has transformed the island into a highly productive farming settlement. The land has been strictly divided between the military- with major military bases in the northern capital city of St. Salarasca and in the off-limits center city of Reil- and the farming and resource exploitation industries, who dominate the majority of the land. The Hold's production is heavily automated and much of it runs twenty-four-seven, with an output grossly exceeding their available manpower.

The average worker on the island is judged by output, and with the process often being automated they have developed a diverse skillset. While the toil of hard work makes them as hard squabble and capable as any other farmer in any other context, they are also expected to know computer programming, engineering, and are expected to be able to fix machines that have gone bad. This has made The Hold well known in the Theocracy for having some of the finest farming families to have developed in recent times. The military maintains a high level of readiness, but it has become something of a black-sheep deployment. With no real chance at victorious crusading or glorious martyrdom, it has a reputation for being either the last deployment of a soon-to-be-retired officer or the first deployment of a green-eared youngster.

Marshite aggression against nature has resulted in much of the landmass being converted to its intended purpose, but Reil and its surroundings stretching south to the coasts remain tropical. Combined with the military refusing access to the city of Reil and its airbase, conspiracy theories about the events transpiring inside are rampant.

Techno's last news article did raise some interesting points. So far we've assumed and mentioned "native" holdouts, i.e. whatever left of the Craxx. What about international/transnational criminals, i.e. pirates, slavers, traffickers, probably also poachers, looters, and smugglers? Should we work out a few known groups/menaces or should everyone decide for their own claims?

It could also be a way for others to join in RPs they'd otherwise have little reason ICly to participate in; playing the pirates/criminals instead of their nation. A nice change of pace or a writing exercise

I should have all awaiting claims and territorial changes completed tonight.

I'm happy for players who do not have possessions in Craxx to be involved in RPing within Craxx. They can take the role of privateers or Craxx renegade groups etc, or even themselves and they just have a vested interest in your colonies, if not in Craxx itself. But I agree, you wouldn't just have local warlords. There will be functioning societies (city states if you will) or criminal empires that are solely financial or narcotic in natures, or or similar to the, say, FARC rebels.

Top idea. I like it.

Furthermore...
I could add an NPC list for all to use if so desirable. The mysterious Former Craxx Empire is a sandbox, or a future plot device. But a list with descriptions of other entities/badies in the area could be good too. These could be described in the Craxx Historic thread and I could include an NPC list on one of the opening posts with a brief preview and then a link directly to the post.

EDIT:

@Arjunnagar... I'm gunna need a lot more than that. An island, a grid reference as well as a brief description. Also the capital features lists are...strange - in any case it needs to have some or none of those functions for the map to generate a symbol.


@Everyone: I think I have updated the claims, roads and land grabs correctly. Please shout out if I have missed anything.


EDIT 2:

Biome colour key added in the maps section. Biomes are not set in stone, so if you want to be on a glacier then just so. No idea how that works, but I'm not geologist or meteorologist so go nuts!

Previews have also been added to all active side threads.
