Badges

Postby Sylestone » Fri Sep 18, 2020 2:53 pm

Recently, a government-owned badge maker in Tioguldos discovered that Sylestone's premiership sides didn't have official badges. So he offered to the Sylestonean Minister of Sport that he could make some. Shocked, he agreed. But while making these badges, a messenger from Tikariot saw his workload and also being a badge-maker, offered to make the shirts. His offer was too accepted. So here they are.

Shirts are still to come.

Welcome back to the third edition of the Sylestone Football Season! This season will feature a newer format, with the Bronze League and Fourth Division dropping completely off the radar. Last season, Dodle FC and North Chamberley were pushed down to the Championship and Avondale Beach SC and Dunkirk Athletic came up. The season was won outright by Pesfield Trees FC, a side predicted to come mid-table, but dominated throughout the entire season. Can they do it again?
Cup winners Avondale City look stronger than ever and will fight for the title one again. Can Dunkirk Athletic, surprise packets from the last season, go one better, or will it be a completely new team? One thing is for sure, this will be one enthralling season of association football! So sit back and relax, because fun is coming your way!

Dunkirk Athletic

About: Dunkirk Athletic are certainly a team in the making. They began off two seasons ago in the Bronze League, a competition they blitzed by a whopping 13 points. With confidence soaring, this side then began to play very strongly in the Championship. They gradually moved up the table, shocking stronger sides, finishing in second place, one point above FC Conton, to confirm promotion into the premiership.

Kirkham Suburbs and Dunkirk Athletic have remained powerfully at the top of the ladder, on 23 and 21 points apiece. Yes, you read that correctly. Dunkirk Athletic. Remember them? The side that was in third division two seasons ago and were predicted to completely flunk and finish 16th this season? Yep, that's who we're talking about. Their sole loss was on Matchday 10 against a strong Kirkham City, and before then, they were first on the table. Talk about a miracle run, hey? They've now beaten both Kirkham Appliances, who are in third with only one loss, and Kirkham Sentients, a side renowned for being very strong indeed. Halpenley City FC is also going strong, currently placed 4th on the table, but we remember what happened last season. They began well but flunked to near-relegation. They will be striving not to do that again. On the other end of the table, Avondale City FC and Kirkham Sentients have hit a new low, being in 13th and 14th places respectively. At the moment, it is also looking like Chamberley City's new manager, all the way from the Squornshelan Remnant StatesDodle hasn't performed to the best of his ability. They are in 12th but still stand a chance.

Meanwhile, in the Championship, Dodle FC and North Chamberley are currently in the top two, as expected. Then it gets chaotic. In fourth place is Freeman Province, who are somehow performing well despite being predicted to finish 14th or 15th. Freeman City, finishing last with only 17 points last season, are in seventh on fourteen points. Just a win and a draw will take them over last season's tally. The only side yet to still win a game is Southern Avondale FC, in 15th place with a whopping seven draws. That is impressive.

In the Premiership, Dunkirk Athletic are currently leading the table, the side who were in the Bronze League (Third Division), two seasons ago. Now they are apparently the best side in the entire league. Pretty fucking impressive, am I right? Meanwhile, Kirkham Suburbs have fallen from first to seventh in the space of five games, and are in need of a boost. On the other hand, Capital FC has won four of their past five games, showcasing their star-studded lineup who seem to finally be coming good. Kirkham City, Kirkham Appliances, Chamberley City and Avondale Beach SC are following the same path, filling up spots 2 to 5 on the Premiership table. In the middle are Pesfield Trees FC, Halpenley City and Betham, all sides who have the ability to rise up to the challenge but haven't shown it yet. At the bottom, Avondale City is precarious in 14th, on the same amount of points (11) as Mid-Capital in 15th. Katham FC is in 16th on a mediocre nine.

FC Conton have taken over first place on the Championship table, overthrowing North Chamberley and Dodle FC, who are now in second and third place respectively. Emacuton FC are also looking strong in fourth place, while Freeman Province are somehow in seventh. AFC Droves and Dunkirk FC are currently mid-table, below where they should be, but still in promotion contention. Marbury FC are in fourteenth place and such a strong start has gone to waste.

It's a funny game, isn't it? Just five Matchdays and teams can drop like 10 positions. Some of the best teams can have shitty seasons, some of the worst can have brilliant seasons. Welcome to the Sylestonean Premiership, all. Dunkirk Athletic have still maintained first position on 38 points, which is two points above Kirkham City in second. Then come Halpenley City FC in third, a side who have been in relegation contention for the past two seasons. And Avondale Beach SC, coming up from the Championship and losing all of their good players, are in fifth. Then we look at the bottom of the table. Avondale City FC, widely regarded as one of the best sides in the league, are in 14th and only one point off relegation. Scary times for them, Kirkham Furniture and Kirkham Sentients, who are all in contention if Mid-Capital wins another game. They probably will, you know. Capital FC are still on the way up, consolidating sixth spot as their brilliant lineup looks to make a big push towards the end of the season. Can they do it?

It seems as though we already know our two promoted sides from the Championship to the Premiership. In first place is FC Conton on 40 points, trailed by North Chamberley on 38. Then in third are Dodle FC, who were first ten matchdays ago, on 30. This 8-point gap can be closed, but it is looking more and more unlikely. A game of chasies if there ever was one.

Dunkirk Athletic's fine run of form has finally ended, dropping from first to fifth in the space of the last five matchdays. It was appropriately wrapped up with a shocking 6-0 loss away against Kirkham City, who have taken over first place and are sitting pretty on 46 points, three points ahead of Kirkham Appliances, their nearest rivals. Capital FC is in third as their weapon lineup continues to mould together, giving them an outside chance at winning the Premiership. Fourth and fifth are taken up by Avondale Beach SC and Dunkirk Athletic, two sides who could produce a shocker and win the thing, but that's looking very unlikely. One thing is for sure, and that is that we'll have a new winner of the Premiership. While it's still technically possible for Pesfield Trees FC, it would take a miracle and a half for them even to make the top five. Avondale City FC has started to reignite their campaign and are now six points away from Mid-Capital in 15th, while Kirkham Furniture is only in the lead over them on head-to-head.

FC Conton and North Chamberley have now all but secured their positions in the next Premiership, with North Chamberley in second nine points above Dodle FC in third. Conton are on 49 points as they seem to be getting better and better. Four sides - Emacuton FC, AFC Droves, Dunkirk FC and Southern Beaches - are on 32 points with the exact same win-loss record, that being 9-5-11 as they take up positions 8-11 on the Championship table. Strange things happen. The table itself, however, isn't looking all that surprising as the season draws to an end. It can even be said for boring as we effectively know our two qualifiers from the Premiership. The question is: Who will come third and participate in the Liga B Trophy in a few months time?

And there we go! Comeback kings Capital FC, led by brilliant performances from Kohnhead's Al Torgan, Murphtannia's Coalan O'Reilly and out very own Raphael Brown, have finished first in the Premiership and have progressed to the IFCF Champions League and the CEdC. Kirkham City, Pesfield Trees FC and Kirkham Appliances are all going to the IFCF Challengers Trophy after finishing places 2-4. Avondale Beach SC, Chamberley City and the weary Dunkirk Athletic finished 5th to 7th, with their campaigns all deemed a success. Kirkham Furniture, however, are all but happy. They finished bottom of the table and will be playing in the Championship next season, along with Katham FC. Not great for them.

FC Conton and North Chamberley have expectedly moved up to the Premiership after good performances throughout the season, while Dodle FC is playing in the LBCT with those two sides. Emacuton FC has flunked into 14th as they look to redeem themselves next time. See you until then!

Unfortunately there won’t be much RP from me this tournament; this preview and another couple of posts with all of the results and RP on it. Apologies for the inconvenience, it’s the best I could do.

Here we are - the fourth season of the Sylestone Football League! The first three seasons were won by Kirkham Appliances, Pesfield Trees and Capital FC respectively; will one of these guys take it out again or will there be a new champion crowned? Last season certainly was an interesting one, with Kirkham Furniture winning the Cup despite being one of two sides relegated, alongside Katham FC. FC Conton and North Chamberley re-established themselves in the Premiership for the first time since the first season and the question for them will be whether they can keep their status as one of the better sixteen club sides in Sylestone.
With even more internationals in the sides this year, it surely will be the best season yet! But the big question remains. Who will win it?

PREMIERSHIP

Dunkirk Athletic
Image
Last Season: 7th
Predicted Finish: 14th
About: Dunkirk Athletic are Sylestone’s surprise packets after being at number one for most of last season’s premiership only to drop to seventh when the crunch came. This season, though, they aren’t predicted to do as well after losing star striker Harrison Gilchrist to Alexandria City in Xanneria. They remain with a side made purely of Sylestoneans, the only team in the league to have such.

Pesfield Trees FC
Image
Last Season: 3rd
Predicted Finish: 5th
About: Season Two’s winners, Pesfield Trees are coming off another good performance last year where they finished third, only five points behind Capital FC in first place. This season, they have signed Jimmy James, a young Kalactinian goalkeeper and Haline Knezevic, a centre midfielder from the Squornshelan Remnant States. However, they lost key defender Christopher Stowell to his homeland Flavovespia, which leaves a big gaping hole there. Can they pull off some more heroics and see the club to their second-ever title?

Kirkham Appliances
Image
Last Season: 4th
Predicted Finish: 3rd
About: Arguably the best of the five Sentient-only sides, the Kirkham Appliances are made up of Appliances from around the city of Kirkham in the southeast of Sylestone. In the inaugural edition, the Appliances took home the title but haven’t been able to win it again since. One of the more defensive sides in the league, they play a 5-4-1 formation with some of the best defenders in the entire league. One of the favourites to take the title home.
Roster:

Kirkham Sentients
Image
Last Season: 12th
Predicted Finish: 6th
About: A poor season last year will probably be a one-off for them, as they will look to push a lot closer to the title this season. They are quite a good up-and-coming side, with the traditional 4-3-3 formation and a youthful squad mixed with experience. They will be a great side to watch if they can perform to the best of their abilities.
Roster:
First Team:
Saucepan - GK
Blender - LB
Frying Pan - LCB

Capital FC
Image
Last Season: 1st
Predicted Finish: 1st
About: Last season’s winners, Capital FC have brought many overseas players towards them in the recent years to try and make them the best club in Sylestone. This year they lost key centre-midfielder Raphael Brown to Nephara, but we still predict that they will control this season. They will probably go back-to-back, although other clubs may push them close.
Roster:
First Team:
Reinhard Meixner - Age 36 - GK (Nephara)
Jessie Bowen - Age 29 - LB (Blaneu)
Mitchell Stevenson - Age 22 - LCB
James Heagney - Age 25 - RCB

Kirkham Suburbs
Image
Last Season: 10th
Predicted Finish: 8th
About: Probably the second weakest of the Kirkham sides, Kirkham Suburbs are a side with much potential but haven’t really been able to find that winning combination. They will be resilient once again this season, but we predict that success will elude them once again.
Roster:
First Team:
Table - GK

Hand Sanitiser - CB
Roof Tiles - RB
Fork - LM
Fridge - LCM

Kirkham City
Image
Last Season: 2nd
Predicted Finish: 4th
About: Last season’s runners-ups, Kirkham City showed some serious signs of their capabilities but were unable to take away the cake. A strong showing against Dunkirk Athletic where they won 6-1 really showed the nation what they were capable of, but the loss of the AC Vent might dash their hopes again this season. Can they do it?
Roster:
First Team:
Aluminium Foil - GK
Pot - LB

Mid-Capital
Image
Last Season: 14th
Predicted Finish: 13th
About: Mid-Capital are a side who looked like being relegated for the majority of last season before they managed to push forwards and gain fourteenth place. This season, they managed to gain a player - Thike Saleh from Sharktail who will undoubtedly help them in goals this season. They will back themselves to finish in the top ten, but they should be comfortably out of the relegation zone.
Roster:
First Team:
Thike Saleh - Age 24 - GK (Sharktail)

Betham FC
Image
Last Season: 9th
Predicted Finish: 7th
About: A promising side who always seems to end up around mid-table, Betham FC are known for having a very offense-oriented side that will always score goals. They have kept the same young forward line that is bound to bring them some success, as well as confirming Mathias Swift from Tikariot to come in in the midfield. If they can work out best XI, then they will be a force this season, hands down.

Halpenley City FC
Image
Last Season: 8th
Predicted Finish: 11th
About: Another surprise packet from last season, Halpenley City FC are looking to improve on the 8th that they got last season with an even better one. However, goalkeeper Sean Halliday has been transferred to Hebitaka, but they have gained Syong-ya Hwang from TJUN-ia and Janet Light from Chromatika to help make up for that. While they aren’t expected to only concede nineteen goals again, they will still be defensive-oriented, which should make things very interesting indeed.

Avondale City FC
Image
Last Season: 13th
Predicted Finish: 2nd
Following a season where this celebrated side nearly got relegated due to who-knows-what, Avondale City have put a lot of money into buying new, foreign players. They have gained Andrew Dalton from Ethane, Hildred Reber from Chromatika and biggest of all, Sloane Walsh from Nephara. Talk about a strong side. Predicted Finish: 12th

North Chamberley
Image
Last Season: 2nd (Championship)
Predicted Finish: 16th
About:
Yes, I know, I know. We’re not supposed to say that the two newly-promoted sides are probably going to get relegated again at the end of the season. But we just don’t think that they’re going to be able to hold their weight against these strong Premiership sides. Nevertheless, they both stand a chance, with North Chamberley’s side being purely made up of Sylestoneans alongside Xannerian brothers Jason and Tim Boston? Can they cause some upsets?

First Round

Cleorough and Western FC were the first two sides to kick off the season, with Hinodejin Barbara Kittens showing her class in the first ten minutes with a banger from outside the penalty box. Although Western FC did show some promising signs, they were ultimately not good enough for Cleorough, who downed them 2-1. In the return leg at Chamberley, Cleorough also proved too good as two goals to Siovanija and Teusland transfer Ludwig Plessner gained his side a spot in the second round.
Over in the Capital Province, Avondale City and Mid-Capital fought out two close legs, but with the capital’s main side prevailing in both. Although Mid-Capital’s side did show some promising signs at times, they weren’t good enough for Avondale City, who were powered by Nepharan Sloane Walsh’s hat-trick in the home leg, much to the home fans’ thrill. Sunil Damasekara and Emily Hawk scored both goals in the first leg, while Mid-Capital winger Abigail McNair scored a goal in each match.
The third-listed round between Marbury FC and FC Freeport, two second division sides, was quite uneventful, with Marbury scoring the only goal in their home leg as they progressed into the second round.
The first surprise of the season came when Emacuton FC upset newly-promoted side FC Conton 2-0 in Conton, with both goals being scored from penalties. Despite Conton looking superior in the second leg, a late own goal from Sam Atkinson ensured Emacuton progressed into the second round of the competition.
Katham FC, newly relegated from the Premiership to the Championship, played Championship mid-table kings Dunkirk FC in the fifth-listed match in round one. Away from home in Dunkirk, they showed that they were still a class above the weaker Dunkirk side, of whom they beat 2-0. Although Dunkirk came back strong in the second leg and drew Katham 1-1, it wasn’t enough as Katham moved on to the next round. Little did they know that the goal they conceded there would be the only one until the final itself….
Chamberley City played against Emacuton United in their first round games and immediately showed their dominance away from home in Emacuton. Penelope Battle scored an early goal before Tillie Ex put Chamberley’s top side 2-0 up in the 63rd minute. In the second leg in the heart of Chamberley, the Great White Shark ran rampant, scoring two goals in the first half before leaving it to Battle and Chromatik Phille Meth to score two more goals in the second half winning the game 4-0 and 6-0 on aggregate.
Freeman City and Southern Avondale FC must have been jumping for joy when they drew each other in the first round of the SFA Cup. They are both regarded as two of the weakling sides in the Championship and both were determined to beat the other. The first round was a tense affair in the city of Freeman, which the home side won, much to the joy of the spectators. Although Southern Avondale deserved to win the second leg, an equaliser in injury time meant that Freeman City would progress to the second round.
In the eighth scheduled matchup of the first round, North Chamberley drew the lowly Freeman Province and nearly made a massive fuck-up of it. At home, the newly-promoted side were defeated 1-0 and were on the brink of losing to a side known for being bad. However, North Chamberley managed to fight back, with Xanneria’s Boston brothers and reserve winger Otto Murphy scoring one goal apiece in a 3-0 thumping to assure their side’s progression into the second round.
Western Avondale were a much mightier side three years ago when they were in the premiership. They have had a massive slump since then and it continued in their first leg matchup against Betham FC. Rose Fleetwood, Cameron Keyes, Max MacIntosh and Tikariotian Mathias Swift each scored a goal to ensure a 4-0 thrashing was on the cards. In the second leg, Betham seemed to be cruising to another victory when Homer Lovegood was caught off guard by a Western Avondale forward, equalising the result. It still made no difference to who progressed, although it was certainly a minor annoyance for the Betham side.
AFC Droves, known as being one of the better Championship sides, and Kirkham Furniture, newly relegated from the Premiership, fought out two good, close games, with Furniture prevailing at the last moment. The two sides played out a 0-0 draw in the first leg, then back in Kirkham, Spiderwebs assured their side a position in the second round with an 81st minute goal.
When Southern Beaches scheduled Kirkham City in their first round they must have known that they had no chance of progression. Nevertheless, they gave it their best shot, scoring an early goal in the first leg in Kirkham to put last season’s league runners-ups in a bit of strife. The Kitchen Sink and the Spork still managed to secure a goal apiece to ensure a victory, but the lowly-ranked Championship side had still put up a fight. A fight which continued into the second leg, with Kirkham only winning 1-0 and 3-1 on aggregate.
Capital FC, the reigning champions in the Premiership, drew Dodle FC, one of the better sides in the Championship. Both games were very close, but Capital FC prevailed in both of them by the scoreline of 1-0. Callum Alexander of Ethane and Al Torgan of Kohnhead each scored a goal over the two legs, with the latter backing up his form from last season early on in this one.
The thirteenth listed first round matchup produced another shock result, this time with the away goals rule coming into effect. Halpenley City FC and Whitepool AFC fought out a 0-0 draw in Whitepool, near Cleorough, before the next leg moved to Halpenley. In front of home crowds, Steven Saw scored the opening goal in the 67th minute, but three minutes later, Whitepool came back with their first goal, assuring the Championship side an upset ‘win’ over Halpenley City.
Kirkham Sentients and Pesfield Trees FC are both known for being heavyweights in the Cup and League respectively. They proved this in the very first leg, playing out a 1-1 draw with goals to the Frying Pan and Valentine Cocher. It’s pretty obvious which sides they belonged to. However, the draw was broken in the second leg due to two Luke Oniarise goals and one to Katie Yearmon as they helped their side to a 3-1 win and 4-2 on aggregate, assuring a second round berth against Whitepool AFC.
None of these matchups above really got the media talking. Yes, there were a couple of upsets, but there were no really close matches or anything. Up until the two legs between Dunkirk Athletic and Kirkham Appliances, that is. The first leg, in Dunkirk, was drawn 1-1. The second leg, in Kirkham, was also drawn 1-1. The Ironing Board and the Telephone scored goals for the Appliances, while Tristan Fullers made up for the absence of Harrison Gilchrist with two goals for Dunkirk Athletic. After extra time, the match was still deadlocked 1-1, meaning that the game would go to penalties. Five minutes later, when Karen Crowley missed for Dunkirk, Kirkham Appliances had secured a berth in the second round, winning 4-3.
The final matchup in the first round, between Avondale Beach and Kirkham Suburbs, was also a good one. The first leg was in Kirkham and drawn 1-1, thanks to an injury time goal from Flavovespian Nigel Humphries. Knowing that they only needed a 0-0 draw to progress, Avondale Beach put out a strong defensive line in an attempt to assure progression. Somehow, it worked, and Avondale Beach had progressed, against all the odds.

Second Round

The first games of the second round, between Cleorough FC and Avondale City FC, provided a thrill that set the tone for the season. The first game, scheduled for Carson Stadium in Cleorough, was a tense affair, with three goals being scored in the first half of the game. For Avondale City, Nepharan Sloane Walsh continued her good form with a 17th minute banger from near the corner post alongside a 40th minute penalty to Qusmi Wanar-Sevet Opu. For the home side, a goal in the 26th to Tyler Mirth equalised the scores for roughly fifteen minutes. The second half featured no goals, with Avondale City having a one-goal lead heading into the second leg. Unfortunately, injuries to Mirth and goalkeeper Benjamin Chapman meant Cleorough were without two of their star players heading into the Avondale game. This made it easy for Chromatik goalkeeper Hildred Reber, who saved everything and more for the home side. Two goals each to Andrew Dalton and Hallar Tatyova, alongside one to Sloane Walsh, helped Avondale City to a 5-0 thrashing to move into the quarterfinals.
Unfortunately the matchup between Marbury and Emacuton wasn’t such a big deal. Emacuton, somewhat surprisingly, won the first match away from home, but Marbury came back with a 2-0 beating, also away from home, to secure a place in the quarterfinals.
Katham FC also managed to secure a quarterfinal berth following two somewhat surprising 1-0 wins over a strong Chamberley City side. Clemency Wright and Isaac Bird performed exceptionally in defence, making Damming Malmurchi’s job in goals very easy. Jesse Hansen from Ethane scored both goals, one in each leg, as Katham became the second Championship side to secure a spot in the quarterfinals.
Freeman City continued to provide shocking results, this time defeating North Chamberley 1-0 in their home leg of the second round. However, North Chamberley, like they were against Freeman Province, weren’t fazed as a Jason Boston hattrick led the newly-promoted side to a 5-2 thumping and securing a spot in the third round.
The fifth scheduled game of the second round looked to be a banger, with reigning cup champions Kirkham Furniture taking on Betham FC. If the Kirkham side felt as though they were in with a chance, they were sorely mistaken, as Rose Fleetwood vanquished all of their hopes with two goals inside the first twenty minutes. Ben Lloyd scored a third goal in the 81st minute, leaving Kirkham Furniture with an almost unsurpassable task in the second leg. Betham came out even stronger in that game, with a Cameron Keyes goal kicking off proceeding in the fourth minute before Lucas Drover and Amelia Stanton also scored first half goals to give Betham FC a 6-0 aggregate. Although the Computer scored a consolation goal in the 53rd minute, Betham were through to the quarterfinals in the easiest possible way.
The sixth listed matchup between Capital FC and Kirkham City also seemed to be another blockbuster, with both sides finishing as premiers and runners-up in the last season of the league. Once again, fans hoping for two close matches were disappointed. Al Torgan, Cayden Holmes and Oscar Umbridge each scored a goal in Capital FC’s 3-1 victory in Kirkham, with the Milk Carton scoring the only goal for Kirkham City. In the second leg, Kirkham City seemed to be on a roll. The Picture and the Kitchen Sink scored a goal apiece in the first twenty minutes of the match and with the aggregate now 3-3, Capital FC had to score. And they did. Five times. Brianna Herzog shot the first one in in the 41st minute before Al Torgan backed that up with two before the 70th minute. Jeremy Smith scored in the 73rd and Callum Alexander in the 76th. Once 2-0 down, now leading 5-2. Talk about a comeback.
Pesfield Trees FC, one of the best sides in the entire competition, took on Whitepool AFC in the second round. After the latter had defeated Halpenley City FC on the away goals rule, Pesfield had every right to act cautiously. And when Whitepool managed to scrape through for a 2-2 draw at home, all eyes were on them to see whether they could pull it off yet again. But like other sides, they choked in the second leg and lost 4-0, with two goals to Luke Oniarise, one to Verity Meadows and one to Haline Knezevic of the Squornshelan Remnant States. Whitepool’s run had ended and Pesfield were through to the quarterfinals.
The final second round matchup, between Avondale Beach SC and Kirkham Appliances was quite similar to the above one. In Kirkham, Nigel Humphries scored an early goal to put the upstarts up 1-0, but the Heater equalised in the 42nd minute, leaving the score deadlocked at half time. An uneventful second half saw yet another first leg draw. The second leg, however, was completely different. After The Jovannic’s Twater Harring made a mess of what should have been an easy goal in the 22nd minute, Kirkham Appliances never looked back. The Air Conditioner scored two goals, one just before half time and one in the 85th minute and the Boiler scored the other, this one in the 67th, securing the Appliances a spot in the quarterfinals. Again.

Quarter Finals

With only eight teams remaining, Avondale City FC played against plucky upstarts Marbury FC in the first listed matchup. Both sides decided to play a defensive game, doing their best not to let anything through. Still, Marbury’s defence wasn’t quite there when Aseela Hume broke through late in the game to secure a 1-0 victory. Marbury went into the second game with a more attacking mindset, but Avondale City FC managed to hold strong. They denied their Championship-dwelling opponents any goals before getting one back late in the game to secure a 2-0 aggregate and a place in the semis.
It seems like defence was the call of the day. Or rather, the week. Katham FC and North Chamberley are both known for being far too good for the Championship but not quite good enough for the Premiership and here was a vital opportunity for one of them to secure a spot in the SFA Cup semifinals. Katham opened the scoring early, much to the delight of the home crowd, before Ko-orenite Damming Malmurchi pulled of a spectacular array of saves in goals to keep that lead. Finally, one was let through, but an offside was ruled and against all of the odds, Katham had somehow secured a win against another local Chamberley side. It seemed all of the fire had gone out of the newly promoted North Chamberley side, struggling for rhythm as Katham managed another, much easier 1-0 victory to move into the semifinals and an outside shot at the trophy.
Betham FC and Capital FC, two sides who should be meeting in the semifinals at the very least, were faced with the tough task of facing each other in the quarterfinals. Both sides were in great form; Betham coming off a 6-1 aggregate trouncing of reigning SFA Cup Champions Kirkham Furniture and Capital FC progressing due to a 3-1 and a 5-2 smashing of Kirkham City. So with both sides in good form, who was going to win? Rose Fleetwood’s 55th minute goal ensured that Betham went 1-0 up after the first leg and had favourites Capital FC on the back foot. But two goals to Callum Alexander, who seemed to be just finding form before the start of the season, scored two goals to put Capital FC 2-0 up with only injury time left. But Max MacIntosh had other ideas, scoring a goal from near the halfway mark to equalise the scores. That’s when all hell broke loose, with last season’s Player of the Season Al Torgan scoring a quickfire hattrick to give Capital FC a 5-2 aggregate win and a position in the semifinals.
Compared to the excitement in the aforementioned game, the two between Pesfield Trees FC and Kirkham Appliances was dull indeed. Both were 0-0 draws, with both sides preferring defensive play over aggressive, and trying to wear the others down. For Kirkham Appliances, the tactic finally worked, scoring a goal in the 117th minute of the match to secure a spot in the semifinals. Finally, after 207 minutes of play alongside injury time, something had happened.

Semifinals

Katham FC had had a good run of it. They had made the semifinals, but it seemed like the end of it for them. There was no way they were ever going to get past a strong Avondale City side, a side that had defeated Cleorough FC 5-0 just two rounds ago. These factors meant that no one saw what was coming. The first half of the first leg, in Avondale, went past without much going on. The second half seemed to be much the same as a 0-0 draw seemed the most likely result. But out of the blue, Kerry Bennett of Katham broke past Sunil Damasekara in the defence line, leaving Hildred Reber one-on-one with her. Reber nearly got to the ball, too, but it was too quick and Katham had a lead in the 78th minute. A lead that would not be equalised. Avondale City kicked off the second leg and nearly scored in the very first minute, but Malmurchi was on top of his game. He stopped everything that came his way, no matter what. As the game wore on, Avondale City fans became more and more restless, waiting for something to happen. In the end, the game came down to the last moment. A penalty kick to Sloane Walsh. The Nepharan booted it with all her might, but like always, Malmurchi was good enough, knocking the ball over the crossbar. Katham had made the final.
The other games, between Kirkham Appliances and Capital FC, were still exciting, but nothing like the one above. In Avondale where Capital FC come from, Kirkham shot out of the blocks, with the Telephone scoring the opening goal in just the 11th minute of the match. It may have been only one goal, but Capital FC could not match it as the Appliances’ defence held steady, ensuring a 1-0 lead after the first leg. The second leg was much closer, with Jason Williams scoring a goal in the 37th minute of the match to equalise on aggregate. The lead remained until just after half-time, when the Heater scored two goals in quick succession to put the Appliances all but through to the final. Forty minutes later, they were through, after keeping Capital FC at bay and holding firm.

Final

Kirkham Appliances versus Katham FC. There can only be one winner. The Appliances are widely acknowledged as one of the best sides in the competition, if not the best. But Katham had not let a goal in since the first round and intended to keep it that way. They started off well, having a few good goes at goal, but none were anything special as the score remained 0-0. Kirkham warmed into their game, having decent opportunities in the 30th, 40th and 59th before finally opening the scoring in the 66th after a superb pass from the Telephone to the in-form Heater. It was an unassailable lead as Kirkham Appliances went 1-0 up in aggregate.
The second leg also featured a slow start as Katham sought to gain control of the game before performing an array of tricks to try and grab a goal. They became increasingly desperate, but Jesse Hansen of Ethane managed to finally break through in the 87th minute, scoring from a header to equalise in the aggregate. The game went to extra time as Kirkham went ahead on aggregate again, this time with the Water Cooler scoring the goal. And that was how it stayed. A 1-1 draw, but a 2-1 win to Kirkham all the same. They had done it.

Matchday One

Kirkham Suburbs 0–0 Avondale Beach SC
Cleorough FC 2–2 Mid-Capital
Kirkham City 4–1 Chamberley City
Capital FC 0–1 Kirkham Appliances
North Chamberley 3–0 Betham FC
Dunkirk Athletic 2–0 Pesfield Trees FC
Halpenley City FC 1–1 FC Conton
Avondale City FC 4–1 Kirkham Sentients

Kirkham Suburbs and Avondale Beach SC kicked off the League season with an uneventful 0-0 draw that did not, in any way, give us any clue to what was in store for the next few matchdays. The score should’ve really been 1-0, but Twater Harring was just offside when he scored an apparent goal in the 44th minute. Both sides would have to be happy with a point apiece.
Cleorough FC and Mid-Capital also had to be happy with a draw, but at least it was an interesting one. In front of a home crowd, Brianna Hancock scored the first goal of the season with a curving shot from the edge of the penalty box, something that was greatly appreciated by the home crowd. Young Ethanian Lucas Baker shot back an equaliser for Mid-Capital five minutes later before Yuri Nowak of Zeta Reka and Hugeltaldom put the away side up at half time. Just as the game closed out, though, Hancock got her second, this time from a header from a corner, drawing the game.
Kirkham City began their season in the way they finished off in the last one - with a solid thumping. The Water Bottle scored two quick goals within the first 25 minutes of the match before Tillie Ex of Chamberley City scored a goal to make the score 2-1 after 35 minutes. Corey Grant then nearly pulled off a wonderful save, sliding in to stop a certain goal, but the ball dribbled into the post and into the goal to put Kirkham City 3-1 up at half time. As full time began nearing, Kirkham went 4-1 up due to a goal to the Mosaic, beginning the season with a perfect start.
The fourth game was a blockbuster, between Capital FC and Kirkham Appliances. Both sides knew it too, playing extremely well. But like in the Cup, the Appliance side were just too good, with the Air Conditioner slamming a ball past Reinhard Meixner in goals to grab a hard-fought win.
When North Chamberley, newly promoted, took on Betham FC, no one thought twice about the winner. Betham would be too good, giving the Chamberley side a hard beating. Little did they know what was about to happen. Betham just didn’t turn up, not making use of the minimal opportunities they had as North Chamberley romped to a 3-0 win, tearing up the media while they were at it. Blake Griffiths scored the opening goal before Jason Boston scored two in the second half to begin the season with the best possible start.
Dunkirk Athletic also provided an upset on Matchday One, with Cameron Harris scoring a goal in each half to shock former champions Pesfield Trees FC. They had completely outclassed them and were showing signs of a similar season to the last one.
Halpenley City FC and FC Conton gave the league some reality, drawing 1-1 in an intense match in front of a full crowd. The rivalry between these two is quite serious, being two sides located in the Central, desert part of Sylestone. FC Conton were on top for much of the game, with Harold Laxton scoring their only goal and Violet Bolton Halpenley’s.
The final game of the matchday, between Avondale City FC and Kirkham Sentients, resulted in another thrashing. The Drawer scored the first goal, the only for the Sentient side, in the 17th minute of the match. Sloane Walsh equalised in the 41st minute before she scored two more goals to complete a hattrick in her very first league game in Sylestone. Hallar Tatyova scored the fourth goal as Avondale City went to equal top of the table.

Matchday Two

Avondale Beach SC 1–2 Kirkham Sentients
FC Conton 2–2 Avondale City FC
Pesfield Trees FC 0–0 Halpenley City FC
Betham FC 0–1 Dunkirk Athletic
Kirkham Appliances 3–1 North Chamberley
Chamberley City 2–0 Capital FC
Mid-Capital 2–1 Kirkham City
Kirkham Suburbs 0–3 Cleorough FC

Kirkham Sentients managed to make up for their 4-1 loss against Avondale City with a 2-1 win over Avondale Beach SC. The Kettle and Scissors scored both of the goals while Alyssa Hightower scored a consolation goal in injury time, the first of Avondale Beach’s season.
FC Conton managed to gain their second draw from two games in a shock result against Avondale City FC. The Avondale side scored two goals inside the first 60 minutes of the match, with both of them coming off Emily Hawk’s boot. However, Conton was not giving up yet. Busby Mottershead gave them some hope in the 63rd minute as he slotted in a goal from a clusterfuck in the penalty area. Talea Myrakis scored the second goal in the 84th off a corner and the match was drawn.
The third-listed MD2 matchup, between Pesfield Trees FC and Halpenley City, was another boring game, with both sides happy just to play out the draw right from the get go. Betham FC’s bad run of form continued, this time with a 1-0 loss to Dunkirk Athletic, at home. Trinity Colburt-Veil scored the only goal, giving the Dunkirk side two wins from two.
Kirkham Appliances also continued their strong start with a 3-1 win over North Chamberley, who were still riding high after their 3-0 win against Betham FC. The Alarm Clock scored a goal in the first half before the Heater chipped in with one just after the break. Quinn Reynolds was good enough to score a goal for North Chamberley, but it wasn’t enough as the Coffee Maker slotted a third past Kai Fletcher in goals to go 3-1 up.
Coming off a tense 1-0 loss to Kirkham Appliances, Capital FC were confronted with a strong Chamberley City side which they clearly had underestimated. The result? A 2-0 loss, with goals to Mayson Joyner and Phille Meth giving Capital FC a yet another terrible start to the season. They’ll come ‘round.
Mid-Capital also managed to pull off an upset victory, this one against Kirkham City. The Kitchen Sink scored early on before Mukkhali Ratnasingham equalised just minutes later from the Mid-Capital side. Thike Saleh of Sharktail produced a brilliant save in the second half, which led to Frankie Marmoxime taking advantage of the surprise of it all, giving Mid-Capital the lead, something the Sentient side couldn’t overcome.
The final match was another shock result. Cleorough FC completely outsmarted Kirkham Suburbs with some brilliant play. They began slowly, but three second half goals, two to 19-year-old Abigail Jones and a third to Joel Pearson gave Cleorough’s top side a 3-0 win.

Matchday Three

Cleorough FC 0–1 Avondale Beach SC
Kirkham City 1–1 Kirkham Suburbs
Capital FC 0–1 Mid-Capital
North Chamberley 4–2 Chamberley City
Dunkirk Athletic 1–3 Kirkham Appliances
Halpenley City FC 2–0 Betham FC
Avondale City FC 3–1 Pesfield Trees FC
Kirkham Sentients 2–1 FC Conton

Avondale Beach got their first win in Matchday Three against Cleorough FC when Nigel Humphries converted a late penalty into a goal to put them 1-0 up. Despite this match being relatively uneventful, the big derby between Kirkham City and Kirkham Suburbs certainly was not. It was an intense affair, with multiple offsides, and the result was adequate - a 1-1 draw.
In the third match, Mid-Capital continued Capital FC’s horror run with a 1-0 victory away from home, with Poppy Piers silencing the home crowd in the 69th minute when she scored a brilliant goal, bisecting many defenders in the process in what could well be the goal of the season.
The derby between North Chamberley and Chamberley City produced a high crowd and six goals, the most so far this season. Tillie Ex opened the scoring for Chamberley City before four consecutive goals within twenty minutes to North Chamberley put the underdogs 4-1 up. Ex scored a second goal for the game, but all it did was reduce the margin the City side lost by.
The next match was between two sides who had two wins from two - Dunkirk Athletic and Kirkham Appliances. At the end of the match, the Appliances were three wins from three, going to the top of the table alone as they defeated last season’s upstarts 3-1. The Air Conditioner continued its good form with two goals, one in each half including one from a penalty while the Heater, naturally, scored the other. For Dunkirk, Malcolm Bilby performed well, nearly having an assist alongside a first half goal, but it wasn’t enough for the win.
Alongside Capital FC, Betham FC were the other side to go pointless from three games. Halpenley City FC simply outplayed them, although Fleetwood and MacIntosh both got multiple decent opportunities to convert. But the only goals went in were Janet Light’s, an import from Chromatika, who led the home side to a 2-0 win.
Another underperforming side, Pesfield Trees FC, lost their second game to drop into fourteenth place with only one point from three matches. Avondale City FC completely outclassed them, with two goals to Sloane Walsh in the first half and one to Jack Townsend in the second. Although Pesfield did manage one, a header from a corner in the 51st minute, it didn’t have any real effect on the game.
Kirkham Sentients continued their comeback with a 2-1 win over FC Conton in a game that really should’ve been drawn. From 0-0 at seventy minutes, a goal apiece drew the game one again before the Container slotted its second in to secure the Sentients three points.

Matchday Four

Avondale Beach SC 2–3 FC Conton
Pesfield Trees FC 2–1 Kirkham Sentients
Betham FC 1–1 Avondale City FC
Kirkham Appliances 1–0 Halpenley City FC
Chamberley City 3–3 Dunkirk Athletic
Mid-Capital 3–0 North Chamberley
Kirkham Suburbs 1–10 Capital FC
Cleorough FC 2–1 Kirkham City

Matchday Four produced a mixture of results, starting off with a slightly surprising 3-2 away win to FC Conton over Avondale Beach SC. Conton took a 2-0 lead after the first half before the more experienced Avondale side fought back with some good passing and goal scoring by Alyssa Hightower and Toby Mackey. However, James Turner completed a hat-trick for FC Conton to grab the win in the final moments.
In the second game, Pesfield Trees FC recorded their first win of the season against an under-par Kirkham Sentients side. Although the Colander scored an early goal via a penalty, but Valentine Cocher equalised soon after before Austin Powell scored a goal to give Pesfield a lead by the end of the first half. In order to assure victory, Pesfield played defensively to finally gain three points in a match, for the first time in the season.
Betham FC gained their first points of the season somewhat surprisingly - in a 1-1 draw against a rejuvenated Avondale City FC side. It was almost yet another loss, though, as it was only due to a mistake in the defensive line by Hugo Mornington that gave Mathias Swift an opening to score in the 79th minute. But it was a draw all the same, and maybe it could be the start of a comeback.
Kirkham Appliances continued their good run with a 1-0 win over Halpenley City FC, with the only goal of the game being scored by the Heater in the 26th minute. However, the game between Chamberley City and Dunkirk Athletic was the exact opposite. Six goals were scored in the game, but the points were shared, one each. All of them were scored in the first 50 minutes, too, before each side’s defence actually decided to go to work and stop any more goals.
After their 3-0 thrashing of Betham FC on Matchday One, North Chamberley had been having a steady decline. They hit rock bottom here with a 3-0 loss to Mid-Capital, of whom were in a great run of form. Lucas Baker, a 20-year-old Ethanian, had a great game, scoring two goals and nearly a third, while winger Abigail McNair scored the other goal, the second of the game. North Chamberley were never actually in the game and were completely and utterly outclassed.
In the final match, Cleorough FC shocked favourites Kirkham City at home, 2-1. It wasn’t really a close affair, with the Milk Carton scoring a late goal to bring the deficit down to one, after Ludwig Plessner, from Siovanija and Teusland, had scored two quick goals.
And that’s Matchday Four done! Wait… listens. Oh, it seems I forgot the Kirkham Suburbs home match against Capital FC. Capital FC, too broke their streak with a mediocre 10-1 win. Al Torgan, last season’s Player of the Season, scored five goals, while Brianna Herzog, Ethan Everest, Callum Alexander, Cayden Holmes and Reinhard Meixner, the goalkeeper, scored a penalty, because when you’re 9-0 up it really doesn’t matter. To add to the hilarity of it all, the Knife scored five minutes into injury time. Just because, why not.

Matchday Five

Kirkham City 2–0 Avondale Beach SC
Capital FC 2–1 Cleorough FC
North Chamberley 3–0 Kirkham Suburbs
Dunkirk Athletic 0–0 Mid-Capital
Halpenley City FC 0–1 Chamberley City
Avondale City FC 2–2 Kirkham Appliances
Kirkham Sentients 0–2 Betham FC
FC Conton 0–2 Pesfield Trees FC

In the first game of Matchday Five, last season’s runners-ups Kirkham City took on Avondale Beach SC, a side who has had an underwhelming start to the season. Kirkham City continued that run with a 2-0 win, with goals to the Kitchen Sink and the Mosaic.
In the following match, Capital FC achieved their second victory in a row with a 2-1 win over Cleorough FC. Brianna Hancock scored early for the Cleorough side before Al Torgan moved to top goal scorer in the league with an equaliser in the 64th. Then, in the 87th, Oscar Umbridge scored his first of the league season with a powerful shot that Benjamin Chapman in goals had no chance of saving.
North Chamberley continued Kirkham Suburbs’ disastrous start to the season, not giving them anything in a 3-0 thumping, marking their return to form. The poor Kirkham side were never in the game and for the second game in a row were handed a huge defeat, although not as bad as the 10-1 home loss to Capital FC just last week. For North Chamberley, Tim Boston scored once, as did his brother Jason. Aubrey Hudson scored the third goal to put North Chamberley in fourth, a great start to the season.
In Dunkirk, Dunkirk Athletic played Mid-Capital in an uneventful 0-0 draw, keeping Mid-Capital undefeated and in still in second place after five matchdays. Dunkirk have also had a great start, remaining in fifth after this match.
Chamberley City managed a slightly surprising 1-0 win in Halpenley, scoring only the third goal against Halpenley City’s superb defensive line. The goal, in the 33rd minute of the match, was the result of a brilliant build-up by John Hedley, Corey Grant and Stephanie Georges before the ever-relentless Great White Shark completed the honours, scoring a wonderful goal.
Avondale City FC became the first side to take points of the Kirkham Appliances, drawing them 2-2 after a Sloane Walsh goal in the 75th minute equalised the score. Earlier on, Andrew Dalton had put Avondale City FC 1-0 up before a goal to the Coffee Maker and Telephone gave the Kirkham Appliances the lead. However, Kirkham still remain two points ahead of Mid-Capital, their nearest rivals on the table.
After five games of trying, Betham FC finally managed to grab their first win of the competition, moving off the bottom of the ladder. Rose Fleetwood and Cameron Keyes scored their first goals of the season in a 2-0 victory against Kirkham Sentients.
In the final match, Pesfield Trees FC managed to get their second win of the season, with Luke Oniarise scoring two goals to lead his side to a 2-0 win away from home against FC Conton.
After five matchdays, the table looks slightly odd. Kirkham Appliances are at the top with four wins and a draw, followed by Mid-Capital and Avondale City FC, two rejuvenated sides after last season. North Chamberley, Dunkirk Athletic and Cleorough FC are all, surprisingly, in the top 6, ahead of Pesfield Trees FC, Kirkham City and even Capital FC. Currently, Betham FC, on four points, and Kirkham Suburbs on two points, are in the relegation spots.

Matchday Six

Avondale Beach SC 4–1 Pesfield Trees FC
Betham FC 1–0 FC Conton
Kirkham Appliances 0–0 Kirkham Sentients
Chamberley City 1–5 Avondale City FC
Mid-Capital 1–2 Halpenley City FC
Kirkham Suburbs 1–3 Dunkirk Athletic
Cleorough FC 1–2 North Chamberley
Kirkham City 1–1 Capital FC

Avondale Beach SC got their biggest win of the season, thus far, on matchday six, when they defeated former league winners Pesfield Trees FC by the margin 4-1. They began slowly before scoring two goals towards the end of the first half to take a 2-0 lead into the break. They then increased it to 3-0 before Cocher shot one back to give Pesfield a glimpse of hope. A glimpse that was taken away when Hightower scored her second goal to give the Avondale side a 4-1 victory.
Betham FC handed the newly-promoted FC Conton their third loss of the season, with Rose Fleetwood scoring the only goal of the match in the 65th minute to ensure Betham were lifted out of the relegation spots. In the next match, Kirkham Appliances remained undefeated, playing defensively in a surprisingly interesting 0-0 draw against rival side Kirkham Sentients. It was a good game, and a draw was the right result.
In the fourth match, Avondale City FC routed a determined Chamberley City side, 5-1, away from home. Surprisingly, the game was very close at the halfway mark, drawn 1-1, with goals to Sloane Walsh of Avondale City and Penelope Battle of Chamberley City. However, Avondale pushed ahead, with two goals to Cooper Hill, one to Wanar-Sevet Opu and one to Aseela Hume, ensuring a 5-1 win by the time the full-time whistle was blown.
Halpenley City FC handed Mid-Capital their first loss of the season, with Chromatik Janet Light scoring a late goal to ensure the win. Earlier, Mid-Capital had taken an early lead due to an Abigail McNair goal before Marcus Brongue of Halpenley equalised.
Kirkham Suburbs continued their terrible run with a 3-1 loss at home to Dunkirk Athletic, who were led by two goals the in-form Trinity Colburt-Veil alongside another from Dominic Crane. Although the Mirror did score a stunning goal, it was only a spark in the darkness in what was another poor game for the Kirkham Suburbs side.
North Chamberley also managed an upset win, this one away from home against Cleorough FC. Conor Spencer opened the scoring for the away side just before half time before Abigail Jones equalised in the 70th minute. The game seemed destined for a draw, but in the final minutes, Joe Hughes scored for North Chamberley to assure another three points for the newly-promoted side.
On the final game of Matchday Six, Kirkham City and Capital FC fought out one of the toughest games yet. Both sides should have scored many more times than they ended up doing, thanks to brilliant defending and goalkeeping, which ensured the game remained 1-1 after Callum Alexander and the Kitchen Sink both scored early on in the game.

Matchday Seven

Capital FC 1–1 Avondale Beach SC
North Chamberley 3–0 Kirkham City
Dunkirk Athletic 0–2 Cleorough FC
Halpenley City FC 1–0 Kirkham Suburbs
Avondale City FC 3–5 Mid-Capital
Kirkham Sentients 1–1 Chamberley City
FC Conton 0–2 Kirkham Appliances
Pesfield Trees FC 5–3 Betham FC

Capital FC secured another 1-1 draw, this time against Avondale Beach SC, to continue their rise up the ladder. The game wore on, with neither side really making any solid attempts at goal. But finally, 79 minutes in, Nigel Humphries was given a penalty kick, and ever-reliably, slotted it in to put the underdogs 1-0 up. Al Torgan clearly didn’t like this, and when he had an opportunity to score in the 88th minute, he didn’t miss out.
The game between North Chamberley and Kirkham City was… surprising. Because it wasn’t even a game. Kirkham City just didn’t turn up for the match, thinking the game was that night? The result? The first forfeit in the league’s history.
Cleorough FC bounced back from their shock 2-1 loss to North Chamberley with a 2-0 drumming of Dunkirk Athletic, away from home. Brianna Hancock was at her scintillating best, scoring both goals to take her goal tally to four for the season, equal fifth on the charts this far into the tournament.
Kirkham Suburbs’ already dire situation went from bad to worse against Halpenley City FC, after the Sentient side missed out on multiple pretty easy opportunities to score. They were the better side in the match, perhaps not a bad sign, but Halpenley converted the only real chance they got, a header off a corner to give 36-year-old forward Rosalie Maltby her first goal of the season.
You know that feeling when you score a hat-trick… and still lose the match? Yeah, that’s what happened to Avondale City’s attacking midfielder Emily Hawk, who racked up three goals, the only ones for her side, but still managed to lose by two goals. Mid-Capital played very well, often sacrificing defence for attack, but it worked out in the long run. Mukkhali Ratnasingham scored one, as did Frankie Marmoxime and Poppy Piers, while Zeta Rekan winger Yuri Nowak scored two late goals to ensure victory was complete.
Kirkham Sentients kept Chamberley City to a 1-1 draw at home, despite the latter nearly scoring many more times, especially towards the end of the match. Phille Meth, a Chromatik playing for Chamberley City, scored early on before the Container equalised. Although Meth, Tillie Ex and Penelope Battle all nearly scored goals in the second half, great goalkeeping by the Saucepan kept the score to 1-1.
Kirkham Appliances beat FC Conton convincingly, 2-0, to continue their good form before Pesfield Trees FC beat Betham FC 5-3 in a game between two underperforming sides. Fleetwood and MacIntosh scored early for Betham, before Luke Oniarise scored two goals to equalise. Anna Henling and Haline Knezevic scored to make the score 4-2 before Cameron Keyes gave Betham their third goal. Henling scored her second to make the score 5-3 just before the whistle blew for full time.

Matchday Eight

Avondale Beach SC 3–0 Betham FC
Kirkham Appliances 0–2 Pesfield Trees FC
Chamberley City 2–1 FC Conton
Mid-Capital 2–2 Kirkham Sentients
Kirkham Suburbs 0–1 Avondale City FC
Cleorough FC 0–1 Halpenley City FC
Kirkham City 1–0 Dunkirk Athletic
Capital FC 1–1 North Chamberley

In another shock win, Avondale Beach SC defeated Betham FC by the scoreline of 3-0 to give Betham their second loss on the trot. Alyssa Hightower, Twater Harring and Savannah Edwards all scored goals in the resounding win.
Pesfield Trees FC continued their run back after a shocking start to the season with a 2-0 win against Kirkham Appliances. The Air Conditioner scored an early goal, but was deemed offside, before Haline Knezevic, from Squornshelan Remnant States, scored two goals to give Pesfield Trees the victory.
In the third game, Chamberley City gifted FC Conton their fourth-straight loss with a 2-1 win at home. Penelope Battle finally discovered her form from last season, scoring two goals to ensure victory. Not even a stunning goal directly from the boot of Harold Laxton at the corner post could stop her from giving her team the win.
Mid-Capital kept up their good form with a 2-2 draw against a slightly underperforming Kirkham Sentients side. Young Jamie Wells, at only 17 years of age, scored the opening goal before Lucas Baker backed him up with a second. Although the Colander did fire two goals back at Thike Saleh in goals, both sides still managed to get away one point happier.
You know when a team is doing terribly when they have their best game in the season, and still manage to lose it. Yes, it was against Avondale City FC, a side who had a rampaging Nepharan in Sloane Walsh notching up goals out of nowhere, an in-form attacking midfielder in Emily Hawk alongside a very good defensive line. But still, that’s harsh, as Avondale City FC cautiously played out another victory, this time by the margin 1-0.
Halpenley City also notched up a 1-0 win against Cleorough FC, a side who have been slowly stagnating after a good start to the season. Travis Scott scored the only goal in the relatively boring affair, converting it from a clusterfuck around the left goalpost.
Another game, another 1-0 margin. Man, Maggie must really be into them at the moment. This one was between Kirkham City and Dunkirk Athletic, of which the home side won after the Kitchen Sink scored its fourth goal of the season in the 72nd minute.
The final matchup in Matchday Eight was between Capital FC and North Chamberley. Fortunately, the result wasn’t 1-0, and was instead 1-1, just for something different. Jason Williams scored his first goal of the season while Xannerian Jason Boston scored his sixth, to go equal second with Kohnhead star Al Torgan for most goals after eight rounds.

Matchday Nine

North Chamberley 0–4 Avondale Beach SC
Dunkirk Athletic 0–4 Capital FC
Halpenley City FC 0–1 Kirkham City
Avondale City FC 4–4 Cleorough FC
Kirkham Sentients 0–1 Kirkham Suburbs
FC Conton 0–3 Mid-Capital
Pesfield Trees FC 1–2 Chamberley City
Betham FC 6–0 Kirkham Appliances

North Chamberley, coming off a high after somehow restricting Capital FC to 1-1 in their last game, were driven back to reality by a 4-0 thumping at home, at the hands of Avondale Beach SC. The Chamberley side were way too overconfident in their play, playing way too aggressively and letting Avondale’s forwards have many decent shots at goal. In the end, four went in, with one each from the boot of Nigel Humphries, Savannah Edwards, Cassidy Dwyer and Alyssa Hightower, in that order.
Capital FC repeated the same scoreline mentioned above, this one against Dunkirk Athletic. It was even away from home. Al Torgan managed to put two into the net to equal Sloane Walsh at the top of the goal-scorers table, with eight goals, while Mitchell Stevenson and Oscar Umbridge each played their part, scoring goals to ensure the thumping.
Kirkham City and Halpenley City, however, were off playing their own little, brilliant game while this was happening. An early goal from the Water Bottle gave Kirkham City a 1-0 lead, and it is suffice to say Halpenley did not like that. They poured their heart out into the game, but they just fell short, losing by that solitary goal.
Avondale City FC and Cleorough FC, however, both decided to ignore the last result and continue going for goals galore. Tyler Mirth scored a hat-trick inside the first half while Brianna Hancock scored the other goal for the Cleorough side. For Avondale, Sloane Walsh went back to the top of the goal-scorers list with a goal in the 17th minute, alongside goals from Emily Hawk, Wanar Sevet-Opu and Hallar Tatyova.
Finally, Kirkham Suburbs had a win. It was against cross-town rivals Kirkham Sentients, a side that had already had an underwhelming start to the season. The Mirror scored the only goal of the match in the 84th minute, which was greeted with wild celebrations. When the game was eventually won, the celebration got even more chaotic. Could they come back from this horror start?
Mid-Capital also continued their good form, handing the newly-promoted FC Conton their fifth loss in a row and a 3-0 thrashing to along with it. Yuri Nowak, from Zeta Reka and Hugeltaldom, scored two goals while Grace Larkham scored the other.
Chamberley City handed Pesfield Trees FC a surprise defeat on Matchday Nine. The end margin was 2-1, and could’ve been a lot worse if the Great White Shark got his way. But he’d already scored two goals in the match, so y’know.
Finally, Betham FC have hit the ground running. Kirkham Appliances, a side who had a great start to the season, got fucked over, 6-0. Two goals to Lucas Drover and one each to Rose Fleetwood, Max MacIntosh, Mathias Swift and Amelia Stanton ensured the thumping took place.

Matchday Ten

Avondale Beach SC 3–2 Kirkham Appliances
Chamberley City 3–1 Betham FC
Mid-Capital 0–1 Pesfield Trees FC
Kirkham Suburbs 0–2 FC Conton
Cleorough FC 2–3 Kirkham Sentients
Kirkham City 0–1 Avondale City FC
Capital FC 1–1 Halpenley City FC
North Chamberley 1–0 Dunkirk Athletic

Kirkham Appliances lost their third-straight match, this one by a 3-2 margin to Avondale Beach SC. The Appliance side should really have won, leading 2-1 at one point, but some brilliance from Savannah Edwards equalised before Marvin Harland gave the underdogs the victory.
Riding on a high after their 6-0 win over Kirkham Appliances, Betham FC were brought back to Earth with a 3-1 loss at the hands of a hungry Chamberley City. Penelope Battle wasn’t forgiving, scoring two goals, split by one from Chromatik winger Tillie Ex and the lone goal for Betham by Lucas Drover The result has put Chamberley City in sixth in the ladder, only two points off first place.
Pesfield Trees FC handed Mid-Capital their second loss of the season with a 1-0 win to move the Trees into the top half of the table. Then FC Conton broke their five game losing streak with a 2-0 win against Kirkham Suburbs. A side who had finally won a game last matchday before losing to arguably the weakest side in the league. Poor Kirkham.
In the fifth match, Kirkham Sentients bounced back from their loss to Kirkham Suburbs with a 3-2 win over Cleorough FC away from home. For Cleorough, Hinodejin Barbara Kittens and Zelda Katharin scored goals, but it was ultimately not enough as the Colander, Container and Scissors all scored for the Kirkham Sentients to hand Cleorough yet another defeat.
Avondale City FC also continued their good form, scoring a clean-sheet victory over Kirkham City on Matchday Ten. It was a close game, but a late goal from Kyle Miller ensured his side took all three points from the match.
Halpenley City FC shocked Capital FC, keeping the home side and heavy favourites to 1-1 in a very entertaining match to watch. Cayden Holmes scored early to give Capital FC a lead, but Marcus Brongue had other ideas. In injury time, he somehow put a lightning ball past Reinhard Meixner in goals from behind the halfway line to equalise. Don’t ask me how, because I have no fucking clue either.
To round up the first ten matchdays, North Chamberley defeated Dunkirk Athletic at home to move into second place, equal on points with Avondale City FC in first. Quinn Reynolds did the honours, scoring a 39th minute goal to ensure that his side took an extra three points out of the match.

FC Conton 0–2 Cleorough FC
Pesfield Trees FC 5–3 Kirkham Suburbs
Betham FC 3–0 Mid-Capital
Kirkham Appliances 0–1 Chamberley City

In a match between last seasons’ promoted sides, Avondale Beach SC solidly thumped a weak-looking Dunkirk Athletic side 4-1 away from home. Alyssa Hightower was at her supreme best, scoring two of the first three goals before Dunkirk scored to bring themselves back a bit. However, a goal to Qusmi Ajark-Intox Fox helped Avondale Beach to a three-goal victory.
Halpenley continued their defensive play with a solid 1-0 win over North Chamberley and were again overshadowed by a blockbuster of a match after them. Avondale City FC wiped the floor with Capital FC in the main Avondale derby, defeating them 4-1 in a game that was really quite one-sided. Sloane Walsh scored the first goal before Al Torgan of Capital FC equalised. Emily Hawk then gave the home side the lead before Andrew Dalton scored to put Avondale City ahead 3-1. To put the final nail in Capital FC’s coffin, Hallar Tatyova scored to make the score 4-1, a drumming against all of the odds.
Kirkham City continued their run towards the top of the table with a 1-0 win against Kirkham Sentients before Cleorough FC brought FC Conton back down to Earth after their 2-0 win against Kirkham Suburbs with a 2-0 loss. Brianna Hancock and Ludwig Plessner scored the goals.
This game was followed by an absolute goal fest between Pesfield Trees FC and Kirkham Suburbs. In the end, Pesfield won out despite the underdogs being 3-2 up at one point. The Fridge scored two early goals, but Luke Oniarise and Valentine Cocher scored a goal each to equalise the scores. The Fork then put the Kirkham side up by a goal, but the lead didn’t last long. Cocher and Verity Meadows scored goals within five minutes to give Pesfield a lead before Haline Knezevic ensured the victory with a 88th minute goal.
Betham FC made up for their 3-1 loss with a 3-0 win against the third-placed Mid-Capital side. Goals to Rose Fleetwood, Lucas Drover and Keith Fletcher helped the southern side to a massive and somewhat surprising victory.
In the last match, Chamberley City also continued their run up the ladder with a 1-0 victory away from home against the Kirkham Appliances. Tillie Ex scored the only goal of the match to put her side into third.

Matchday Twelve

Avondale Beach SC 1–2 Chamberley City
Mid-Capital 1–2 Kirkham Appliances
Kirkham Suburbs 0–6 Betham FC
Cleorough FC 1–2 Pesfield Trees FC
Kirkham City 4–1 FC Conton
Capital FC 3–0 Kirkham Sentients
North Chamberley 1–3 Avondale City FC
Dunkirk Athletic 1–0 Halpenley City FC

For the time being, Chamberley City moved into first (relying on Avondale City to lose their game) with a 2-1 win against Avondale Beach SC. Kirkham Appliances then made up for their loss to the aforementioned side with a 2-1 away victory against Mid-Capital, who seemed to be losing their form a teeny bit.
The result of the week occurred on Matchday Twelve when, away from home, Betham FC absolutely annihilated a ragged Kirkham Suburbs side by the scoreline 6-0. Rose Fleetwood set the tone with a stunning, early goal before Cameron Keyes and Max MacIntosh scored two each to give Betham a 5-0 lead heading into the final minutes of the game. In injury time, Amelia Stanton scored to give her side a 6-0 win.
Abigail Jones of Cleorough scored early in their game against Pesfield Trees, but Luke Oniarise and Anna Henling scored a second-half goal each to give their side three points and continued Cleorough’s bad run.
Another side who are in the middle of a horrendous run are FC Conton, who lost to Kirkham City by the scoreline of 4-1 on Matchday Twelve. Interestingly, Harold Laxton of Conton scored first, but the Water Bottle was too good, notching up a hattrick before Andrade Ñunezo scored an own goal, his first discrepancy in a good season for him.
Capital FC bounced back from their 4-1 routing by Avondale City with a 3-0 victory over the Kirkham Sentients. Cayden Holmes scored two goals, continuing his push for national selection, while Al Torgan, like always, chipped in with one.
North Chamberley are another side that have competed ferociously this season, but today Avondale City FC were just too good for them. Sloane Walsh, in great form, didn’t net any goals today, but she didn’t need to. Emily Hawk, Aseela Hume and Andrew Dalton all scored in the routing, while Hugo Mornington and Hildred Reber stopped multiple certain goals with some great defending and keeping respectively.
Dunkirk Athletic won the final match of Matchday Twelve, 1-0, against Halpenley City. Malcolm Bilby scored the lone goal in the 41st minute, and it was too much for Halpenley to overcome.

Here we are, yet again. The fifth edition of the Sylestone Football League. 32 sides, spread evenly across two divisions, shall fight it out for promotion or the right to play in the IFCF Champions League!
As it is the fifth edition of the competition, and with the names “Premiership” and “Championship” getting boring, the Sylestonean Football Association (SFA) decided to rebrand the two divisions. Announcing the… Toilet League! And the… Poo League!
Last season, Dodle FC and Kirkham Furniture were promoted once again to the Toilet League (old Premiership), while Kirkham Suburbs, suffering a disastrous season, and FC Conton were relegated, only lasting one season in the top division.
This season, though, Sylestone has attracted many new internationals, including three Brenecians, some Cassadaiguans and even a Yesopalithan. Will they make an impact with their respective sides? Could they even make such a difference that they will win the entire thing? It’s time to find out!

Dunkirk Athletic
Image
Last Season: 13th
Predicted Finish: 15th
About: A change from last season, Dunkirk Athletic have now managed to find a young Murphtannian, their first overseas player. They had a great season two years ago, where they were in first for the majority of the season before they lost their way and finished seventh. The following season, they missed relegation by two spots, but with the loss of Thomas Davis, they seem to be destined to be moved back down into the Poo League. However, 17-year-old Austin Newmann , the Murphtannian, looks to be a promising new face, while the likes of Jayden Clarke, Jamieson Wilson, Trinity Colburt-Veil and Malcolm Bilby will undoubtedly be doing their utmost to avoid relegation. Will they be enough?

Pesfield Trees FC
Image
Last Season: 4th
Predicted Finish: 4th
About: After winning season two, Pesfield Trees have established themselves as one of the sides to beat in the Toilet League. Yet again, they qualified for the IFCF, the third time in a row they have done so. They look yet another strong force in season five, gaining the likes of Kadek Ahlberg from Poafmersia, replacing Joseph Tasserton in the centre defence. They have also grabbed Chromatik Ha’nei Ighv in the left-back position. They seem to have a decent shot at the Champions League this season, but fourth seems to be the most likely position for them.

Kirkham Appliances
Image
Last Season: 6th
Predicted Finish: 5th
About: The winners of the inaugural edition of the Toilet League, Kirkham Appliances have always been fighting but have never been able to secure their second title. They are keeping the same 15-sentient side from last season, where they finished sixth in the league and winners of the SFA Cup after defeating FC Conton in the two-legged final. This season, they will be looking to improve more and hopefully be the first side to win the first division twice.

Kirkham Sentients
Image
Last Season: 11th
Predicted Finish: 10th
About: A side that was predicted for greatness prior to the inaugural season, Kirkham Sentients have fumbled, finishing mid-table in every single one of their four league outings. Finally, the pundits have caught on to this trend, predicting them to finish tenth this season. But will it be the one where they finally make a break? They have got the Bar Stool back, so you never know.

Capital FC
Image
Last Season: 2nd
Predicted Finish: 3rd
About: Widely recognised as one of Sylestone’s strongest footballing clubs, Capital FC got oh so close to their second title in two years, but were just pipped by Kirkham City in the final rounds. This season, they will push it again. But we seem to think that Avondale City are slight favourites for their first-ever title, with Kirkham City also up there.
Capital FC have lost two of their best players - the players of the season for the past two seasons, Al Torgan from Kohnhead and young Cayden Holmes. Reinhard Meixner, the first-ever Nepharan to play in Sylestone, has also retired at the age of 37.
In Meixner’s place is Oliver Crossley, a 19-year-old Tikariotian who will be sharing first team duties with Callum Holmes. Two more Tikariotians, these for free, have taken the places of Holmes and Torgan in the midfield. As a result, the Capital FC side may not be nearly as strong as in previous seasons, but they will still be a very powerful force.

Roster:
First Team:
Oliver Crossley - Age 19 - GK (Tikariot)
Jessie Bowen - Age 30 - LB (Blaneu)

Kirkham Furniture
Image
Last Season: 2nd (Championship)
Predicted Finish: 13th
About: In Season Three, Kirkham Furniture experienced an odd season. They won the Cup… but came last in the Premiership and were relegated. Last season, determined to make their mark, Furniture finished second in the Poo League (old Championship) with 62 points, only behind Dodle FC with 64. They were promoted accordingly.

Kirkham City
Image
Last Season: 1st

About: Kirkham City took their inaugural title last season after finishing first following a close finish with rivals Capital FC and Avondale City. They have kept the exact same side as last season in order to keep their winning combination together. Whether they can challenge, or even win, the title again is yet to be determined, but you can certainly be assured that they’ll push it very close indeed.

North Chamberley
Image
Last Season: 10th
Predicted Finish: 14th
About: North Chamberley had a successful transfer window, only losing goalkeeper Jonah Hickson but gaining two frees and Ambroas de Montgomery from Gouvanarch. The North Chamberley side, recently promoted, came tenth last season but don’t seem to have quite the makeup that made them so successful last season. Still, they remain a threat, despite having a much weaker goalkeeper.

Mid-Capital
Image
Last Season: 9th
Predicted Finish: 7th
About: Mid-Capital have had a relatively active transfer window, selling Abigail McNair and Yuri Nowak while picking up Brenecian Rose Evans as a free agent and Yesopalithan international M’aka Antoine. They had a promising season in season four, last year, having a strong start before losing their way a little bit to finish ninth. This season, however, they seem to have a much stronger side despite losing two of their better players. Will they be able to challenge the top sides?

Betham FC
Image
Last Season: 7th
Predicted Finish: 6th
About: Betham, like Kirkham Sentients, are a side that has never really lived up to expectations. They are one of the most successful sides in the SFA Cup, but can never transfer it across to the League. This season, they may be much weaker due to the losses of gun centre-forwards Cameron Keyes and Rose Fleetwood. However, in their place, they have picked up Destiny Arias, a Cassadaiguan international, for a whopping five million dollars, and a Zwangzug centre-back. Can these two help Betham find their way?

Halpenley City FC
Image
Last Season: 8th
Predicted Finish: 11th
About: Halpenley City have gained another strong player, Jowana Jenowić from Zeta Reka and Hugeltaldom. However, Halpenley’s defence doesn’t seem quite as strong and aren’t expected to do very well this season. They still have a strong side as well as one of the oldest players in Sylestone, Brian Parks at 44 years of age. They also have some human side players, including defender Luke Mitchell, and some ex-U21 players, alongside Chromatik Janet Light.

Avondale City FC
Image
Last Season: 3rd
Predicted Finish: 1st
About: After having a hugely poor season two seasons prior to this one, where Avondale City finished 13th after being in the relegation spots for a while. However, the following season, they managed to make a great comeback and through 22 goals from Nepharan import Sloane Walsh, finished third. This season, despite selling Aseela Hume and weapon defender Jack Townsend, they have bought Estefany Simms from Eastfield Lodge. We predict them to take out the Premiership for the first time in their history, as they have a supremely strong team once again.

Image
Last Season: 14th
Predicted Finish: 9th
About: Cleorough FC only just managed to stay in the Toilet League last season, finishing 14th, only two points ahead of Kirkham Suburbs in 15th. However, they have had a strong transfer window, gaining Brenecian Aife Redding, Quebecois Hannah-Currie Masson and Xannerian goalkeeper Mali Jackson. However, they have lost Brianna Hancock to Cassadaigua, but it is still quite a strong outfit. As a result, they will almost certainly finish mid-table, if not above that.

Avondale Beach SC
Image

About: Promoted after season two, Avondale Beach SC have played pretty well in the Premiership. In season three, they came fifth, before comfortably avoiding relegation when they came twelfth in season four. This season, they are predicted to take out twelfth again, but you can never know. It’s football, anything can happen.
They don’t seem to be as strong as last season, losing their top scorer in Alyssa Hightower to Cassadaigua. But they are very good at working as a team, which will play to their advantage, as will their very young reserves side, which will be integral in years to come.

Dodle FC
Image
Last Season: 1st (Championship)

About: Dodle finished first in the Poo League last season to ensure their promotion to the Toilet League. This season they seem to sport a reasonable outfit, including the likes of Daniel Foreman, Peter Paulsen from Tikariot, Cassadaiguan Tori Allen and Pietro Matos of Juvencus.
