A Warm Welcome
Hello and welcome to the third edition of the All India Football Cup! Welcome to the beautiful nation of Pratapgadh too, where the competition will be held for three months to crown our next AIFC champion. Seven venues have been selected by the Pratapgadh Football Association, four of them will host the group matches, two will host the semi-finals and the final will be held at the Chittorgarh National Stadium.

IMPORTANT NOTE:- If I qualify for the knockout stages, my matches will be third-party scorinated.

Roster and RP Bonus
Posting a roster on this thread will give you a bonus. An RP bonus increases your likelihood to win a game, but remember that it does not guarantee you a victory. If you've posted a roster on this thread, then that will count towards your bonus throughout the competition. However, posting a roster after three matchdays have been scorinated will not count towards your bonus, which means you will miss out on getting that early advantage. A roster post includes your lineup, staff, formation, kits/uniforms, your team's style-modifier, RP permissions and anything else you'd like to include. Here's an example of a basic roster, a good roster and a great roster. These are just a few examples and there are many great rosters in those threads so do check it out if you want some inspiration.

An RP could be anything such as a news article, a blog, a story, etc. For this edition, I have decided to give full freedom to participants to RP whatever they want, meaning it doesn't specifically have to be about the competition or the game of football. You can talk about other stuff as well, maybe the news headlines from your nation and what not. I want you guys to enjoy this competition, so I believe a bit of freedom could help.

Is The KPB Rankings Used For This Competition?
NO! The KPB rankings will not be used to assign points to competitors. The All India Football Cup is still a young event and majority of the nations who have signed up for this event are quite new. Many competitors don't have a rank yet. This means that competitors can't depend on their KPB points and instead have to RP to get far in this edition of AIFC. I decided not using KPB rankings is the best way to make this event fair and competitive. Hopefully, the newer nations can get some ground and not be obliterated by more experienced nations.

What's A Style-Modifier?
A style modifier defines your team's play. The style-modifier could be from -5, which is very defensive, to +5 which means very aggressive. This should be included in your roster post, or I as your host will assume your style-modifier to be 0, which means neutral. If you went with -5, it means your team would concede fewer goals, but would also struggle to score against another team. If you chose +5 or near that, it means your team would score a lot but would also concede a lot of goals. So chose your style-modifier wisely, or be lazy like us and go with 0.

TROLLEBORG NATIONAL TEAM

Image

Nickname: Trolls

Total official games in every tournament +78=27–39

COACH

Morten Troghil continue in this position, being manager of the team since its creation.

PLAYERS

For India Cup Morten Troghil revamped team. Partly due to the climate of region, which was not favourable to the elder players, and partly due to the need of adding young blood to the lineup, many experienced players remain home, and younger ones will have chance to prove themselves. To the surpise of everyone, not many new faces added since IAC-12. Coach, probably, don’t want fast rotation of candidates.

GOALKEEPERS

Tomas Kot Kotsson (31 year old). Flexible and agile, quick-thinking, recently having significantly improve his performance due to the hard work at the recent FA training camp, he was undisputable number one in principle, but probably at India he will be a backup for one of younger goalkeepers who need to be proved in fire of major international tournament.
Lunde, Johann (24). Being goalkeeper at the the only and extremely unfortunate tournament of our U21 team, “Master of the Box” as he was known, he recently proved his skills in the recent all-league training camp for a goalkeepers. It’s his third tournament, but he was play only twice, and one of appearance is as sub in the last minutes of the game. Probably he will have more time in India.
Jesper Krogh (23). Player who already prove himself on a league level, fast and good at the second floor, without losing something in his first floor game skills, making some incredible saves in our league. At the MC he taste big game first time and having rather positive reviews.

DEFENDERS

Loonstrup, Jesper (23). Another man from unfortunate U21 team, he at last receive a ticket to the national team camp. He is flank defender in the preferred Trolleborg style for such a players – fast moving, adept in supporting attacking moves, willingly throw himself in the way of the ball, aggressive in tackling. Due to absense of Wolters in the squad, he was most probably number one for a flank defenders in the lineup.
Aien Troger (28). He is fast, strongly build and extremely good in tackling. It’s very challenging to move into the box past him and he is made a serious progress for four seasons Trolleborg team played in the international football. Being (probably) in his prime years, he was a pillar of defence, but it will be seen whom coach paired him in the centre.
Joran Du Riis(26). Cold-blooded fighter already prove himself on the highest level. Agile and fast-moving, but solidly builded and used this for advantage, he prefers play either to the right of center or on the right side, as team needed.
William Schendel (25). Agile fast moving defender known for his skillful positioning and man-marking, great in the heading, with incredible high crosses-interception rate.
Jaan Berg (22). He is one of the Trolleborg players who play in the first ever football tournament for the country, U18 world cup. Man-marker, which have give a tough time to established forwards in the league with every opportunity, he have a chance in the first national team in the recent tournaments, looked not too good, but coach have a lot of confidence in his abilities.
Torgeir Dushegub (31). Known as a Column, this tall and strong player usually dominates a box both in the air and at the grass. Being always calm and confidence, he projected aura of them around. Age advanced on him, but he was trying to live up to the fan expectations. Probably he goes to India as a backup and senior curator of younger defenders.

MIDFIELDERS

Morten Gronquist (22). He has intake of international football with now-disbanded U18 team, and move fast forward in his career – raised in the Finnsnes Hurps youth team, he prefer to be transferred to the lower division where he have a place in the line-up, and then have won second league, then helped his team establish in the highest league. Making himself a name because of his good passing and dribbling skills. Altough many doubted if our country haven’t another fast flank midfielder, coach prefer give him a chance.
Rolf Valgren (31). Quick-thinking, with a perfect understanding of game, seeing everyone and everything in the field, and with brilliant passing skills, this man can bring ball everywhere he wants. He definitely add something from international experience, and his experience is what new players maybe needed most in the forthcoming battles.
Jasper Lucius (23). With a perfect sense of game, this central midfielder usually can move ball to where it want with only one touch, and he is good with a set-pieces. Some say, he was like a Morten Troll in his younger years, and most probably backup for him right now. Or vice versa, as coach decide at the spot.
Finn Finnsnes (31). Already making himself a name in world football due to his extremely good game and attractive style of play. He is swift, smart, good dribbler and excelled in set-pieces. Coach take him mainly as a backup and mentor for a midfielders.
Torstein Halst (22). Right winger\forward, with a good passing, master of highly accurate long crosses and very well making in curved shots from outside the box. Willingness to fight for every ball, spare no effort, and, most importantly, improve his skills is what give this very young player a chance to play for national team.
Morten Troll (27). He is a brightest star amongst midfielders in the whole country. Genius of game, with a wonderful dribbling, beautiful technique, excellent pass and extremely good shot, he won many games for his local team single-handedly, but also a great team player. Highly probably, he will be a player of generation, and very probably, best player Trolleborg ever had. He brilliantly justified all the positive reviews of his game at almost every tournament. Publicly supported the head coach in his statements that it was necessary to bring a new faces into the team, and in an interview he stated that he was ready to enter the field less often for the future of the team.
Windass, Kasper (23). Broad and strong, he looked a little bit sluggish when moving without ball, but everything changes when he have it. Then he moved extremely fast, sweeping away everything in its path due to his mighty build and usually ended move with a clever pass. Man in the mold of Kolding, who was not added to the lineup for India Cup.
Kenneth Pathmoor (25). Prove himself highly successfull adept to the condition of the international football, Kenneth is versatile and clever midfielder, who can cover a lot of space and conjure goal opportunity for his forwards from nothing, and he was more than happy to upset opponents.

FORWARDS

Stuart Kerr (31). Quick, brave, skillful, moved fast despite age, love to puzzle defenders and having ability shot from everywhere in the box right despite defenders best efforts. Brilliantly confirmed his reputation as a prolific scorer at home, he was definitely keystone of team that winning BoF, winning a prize for the topgoalscorer of BoF and continue to add goals in almost every tournament.
Tom Gulbranden (29). Build like a very tall stone wall, he easily can tramp defenders if he wish to do so. It is looked impossible, that a man of such a stature can bring himself in the air at all, but nevertheless he is – strongly jumping and struck the ball by the head with deadly precision, scoring many of the most beautiful goals of the team. His tandem with Kerr already well-known and recognizable in Multiverse.
Torgeir Berglund (24). Another recent addition to the squad, classical power forward in the mold of Tom Gulbranden. Being teamed with Jivoglot at the last tournamens, he looked like a very menacing and already prove his goal-scoring talents.
Torfinn Jivoglot (22). Albeit very young, he is already played full season as a forward in the National League with a very decent play-to-goal rate. Very fast, reading game perfectly, with a strong goal flair, he will probably have a bright future.
Mogren Langepaas (22). Former star of the Youth League, after that best stiker of the second national one, and right now established players in the highest league. His style of play does not look very spectacular, but he has a phenomenal scoring sense and constantly finds gaps in the defensive orders.

Game style and philosophy

Team practiced attractive attacking game on a fast pace, and already its style well-known and liked by public. Usually played 4-4-2 with defenders pressed forward whatever possible, or 3-5-2 with a midfielders move back and forth as things dictated. Integral and inalienable part of the team’s game will be mighty pressing, applied whatever on the field when ball is not on our side.

National psyche tell players to put everything even if odds are heavily against, so almost every match in the league played with high determination, and national team shirt oblige one who wore it for even more efforts. Unsportsmanlike behavior is highly discouraged even if in the interests of the cause, and national team players are required to meet the highest standards possible, so it is completely impossible to imagine a player of the Trolleborg national team faking injury or begging for a penalty. But players are not easily bullied, though, and more than able to stand up for themselves both as individuals and as a team, and have a strong inclination to go tit-for-tat in case of excessive brutality on the opponent’s part.

Style -5.

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers: Yes

Godmod injuries to my players: No
Hand out yellow cards to my players: Yes
Hand out red cards to my players: Yes only for a last ditch fouls or two yellows, any other variants must be discussed with me

Good evening, compatriots!
It's me, Tiernes Riper. And right now with us in the Trolleborg TV studio Morten Kerr, one of only two coaches in our country who worked in the international football, who gave us such a wonderful moments at the youth championship.

M.K. I am very glad to meet you again!

T.R. And I would like to ask you to comment on the claims that the head coach of the national team may temporarily leave his post.

M.K. Before the tournament, an idea was put forward to temporarily transfer the post at the head of the team to some other coach, and to give Morten Troghil a rest, but in the end it was decided to leave everything as it is. The BoF winner, who has taken the team to the World Championships twice, remains at the helm. I express the hope of all football specialists and fans that he will give us all reasons to joy for a long time.

T.R. And now let’s explain to us what India Cup is the kind of the tournament and what hopes the FA leaders have in participating in it.

M.K. India Cup is created not so long ago, but gaining popularity fast. In the previous two tournaments there were 16 teams, but 24 in this one. The tournament is, in principle, intended for the countries of the region, but our team will participate as an invited guest, having already established itself in the World and becoming regular guest at the Melayu Cup.

T.R. They don't think up there that they should participate in all regional tournaments possible? [both laughs]

M.K. It would be interesting, but difficult to organize. Continuing the theme: our players will gain experience in international matches in difficult climatic conditions, and coaches will be able to see the nearest reserve in action, try different combinations of players. This is main targets.

T.R. And there are questions arise. Not a single new player added, nor a few experienced footballers will go to Pratapgadh.

M.K. This is so. But the head coach is responsible for the result, and determining the lineup is his prerogative. But I can suppose that it’s very difficult for many of our experienced players to play in such a climate, as the Melayu Cup regularly shows, and many young people do not immediately master the conditions of international football. And in such tournaments every mistake, as the last IAC showed, can be very expensive.

T.R. And whom team will face?

M.K. Ha, this is the most interesting question. Teams from this region very rarely ventured outside, participate in the World Championships, IAC and Cup of Harmony not too often, and even less often come news about how things are going in the local sports world. We searched the airwaves and don’t found a single channel or news broadcast from India. So our lads will have a hard ride. But it is also useful in part, the team must be able to adapt to the unexpected.

T.R. But at least it’s known whom we play at least by names of teams?

M.K. There will be five opponents in the group stage. The most famous is, undoubtely, Indusse, the champion of both previous editions of the India Cup, the WCQ-86 participant, who seriously pretend to take a ticket for World Cup itself right up to the last days of tournament. Indusse basically played with same team in every tournament ...

T.R. Bar recently joined superstar Goblin Grundjee.

M.K. Yes, with addition of this versatile and very dangerous midfielder\forward, who in fact can change course of game in two touches. But it's basically the same team. Considering the experience of playing together, they probably already have mutual understanding at the level of exchange of mental signals. On the other hand, such a team will have a shortcomings and vulnerabilities that cannot be fixed due to the fact that there is a limit to human perfection, and without the rotation of players, player with insufficient skill to play with his head can’t be replaced with another who is a specialist in this. And we also know something about Rajpore. A team that has had an undeserved lot of setbacks. Rather unlucky team. But its players are very persistent in the game, never giving up fight. And hungry for victories, too. Nothing is known about the other three rivals.

T.R. And how are you supposed to play with them?

M.K. The philosophy of our football assumes in such cases 4-4-2 lineup with universal players on the flanks, which allows you to quickly changed to deal with four or five opponents forwards or to overcome the echeloned defense, to take extreme variants. How effective is a different story, but for such cases, the team should train in tournaments where the cost of a mistake will not be so great. And then many were already going to peck at our defenders for that goal at the IAC, like if they don’t understoood this can break the psyche of young lads, ruin their careers ... It’s not worth put such a big wave after every failure. The team needs support, not the barrage of criticisms.

T.R. FA actively encourages fans to go to support the team ...

M.K. Yes, the FA has organized several charter flights at more than reasonable prices, the entire football specialists community is in solidarity with the national leader, who urged the people of the country to travel more and explore the world in all its great diversity. And there will be a whole bunch of specialists as the FA organized a tour for them to see what new India teams can add to our understanding of football and maybe find some the decent quality players for our championship.

T.R. Interesting idea. Well, thank you, and I urge all fans to take the opportunity to visit distant countries, especially since the trip to Pratapgadh promises to be very interesting.

Greetings, compatriots!
It’s TTV from Pratapgadh in marvellous India region.
Today we have the opportunity to congratulate you all on the success of our football team, and we are glad that several thousand fans, who followed the players to these unexplored place, shared this success with them.

Perhaps there were few matches before which we would know so little about the opponent. Even in the first games of our footballers at the World Youth Championship and the BoF, there was more information. Only a few bits of information about the country of Ignasian itself are available, and even less known about the team. As a result, precisely as our expert predicted yesterday, the players of our team entered the field in the classic 4-4-2, which during the game transformed into 3-5-2, then into 4-3-3, and in the second half back to 4-4-2. Team had the advantage all the time, but things looked like as if players they were most interested in following the coach's orders than anything other. It is clear that, given the average age of the squad, the team should rather follow the coach's instructions than try to shine with individual skill, but still we have to reproach that sometimes it is worth acting more inventively. Not everything is visible from the coach's bench, sometimes things are more visible on the field.

However, this time it all ended with a modest but confident victory for our lads.

Altought, it must be noted, Ignasisans almost opened the scoring, Kotsson reacted at the last moment and parried a powerful shot by his legs

Image

But, however, the opponents did not have any more such opportunities, only in the second half their forwards shot wide of the gate a couple of times, one can recall two corners, during which an unhealthy commotion was created in our penalty area, and once a free-kick cross followed, with dangerous trajectory, that Kotsson preferred to knock the ball wherever he could.

But our lads also did not manage to create scoring chances as much as one might have hoped, and they scored only one goal.

Here is a classic moment, when in the first half the ball missed the goal after shot by Berglund: the game did not require to shoot on goal from this point at all. It would be more logical to make a cross, top or bottom, to one of the players in the center or on the far post. But, apparently, players prefer to spend this chance waste due to some scheme of things in his mind.

Image

But very soon Finnsnes, who served as the core of the team, around which all the activity revolved and the game was built, took over things. Our footballers in front were already very cautious, the young people still lacked for skill, in addition to the might and confidence of Stuart Kerr, and now, where our striker would have moved to fight with the only defender and probably would have made his way to the goal, the young forward had been cautious and preferred to pass the ball back under shot. Finnsnes, however, made a perfect long shot, turned out to be a feast for the eyes, judge for yourself.

Image

We can’t say that the team's play inspires great optimism, but nevertheless three points are ours, and the entertainment facilities around the stadium are swollen with a satisfied clientele from among our fans.

He got the ball quite far in before it was taken by Defender Pazhman who passed it to Midfielder Afshar. The ball passed on between players until Forward Malakooti got close enough but his goal was stopped by the goalkeeper.

Matthew: Quite close wasn't it
Blake: Yes

The goalkeeper kicked and passed it on to the defender who gave it straight to the forward but it was taken by Tabaan who passed it straight to Bizhman who passed it straight to Bina and the ball kept going between the teams but suddenly Vahdat gets near and scores a GOAL! Every Dari watching the match on TV or in the Stadium was cheering. The Stadium was filled with chants of, "Baro Vahdat Baro!" (Go Vahdat Go!).

The Tamil goalie kicked and passed the ball straight to the striker but ot was taken by Malakooti but the ball was taken by the Tamil forward and it kept passing but Malakooti again took the ball and got close enough to score a GOAL!

The goalie passed it to the Forward who passed it to the striker but Pazhman took the ball but the forward took it and almost score a goal but the Goalkeeper Nazeri stopped it.

Greetings, compatriots!
TTV happy to report latest news about our national football team. Our lads just finished their second match in the tournament. And this time, too, not much was known about the team of opponents, and even about the state where it came from - this once again reminded us how little we still know about the world around us, because Lyassa and Nairoa is a huge country with a population comparable to ours. Well, our sports teams provide an opportunity to visit distant lands and slightly push back the fog hanging on the edges of the known world. Use it, fellow citizens! Three more matches left!

Compared to the first game, the army of our team's fans has multiplied, and throughout the match, an hour before after the game and for a significant time after it, their presence was clearly felt. As for the game itself, I must say that the national team again played diligently, acted strictly and accurate when in defense and demonstrated the ability to change the formation right in the course of the game without losing in quality.

But again only one goal was scored, Jivoglot received the ball from the depth of field and made a quite clever cross along the goal, Langepaas have just to put leg where needed and scored. At 22 he is youngest ever scoring player of our national team

Image

And then it was all the same - diligence, accuracy, exact adherence to instructions, careful handling of the ball, but almost no invention and inspirational decisions. Only once football was demonstrated in the style in which we are used to seeing on field in the past three seasons, a three-touch attack – Lucius, Finnsnes and Jivoglot played it, but the latter was too hurry to make a good shot and therefore the score remained unchanged.

Image

The absence of conceded goals is very pleasing, but the low-scoring of our team is somewhat unnerving, at the two previous tournaments it was not enough to achieve at least some success. Altought we all definitely prefer 1-0 to 4-5 or 5-8. And, in the end, the team at once carries out rejuvenation and the transition to a new tactical scheme, each separately of these processes is complex and difficult, and here there are two of them at once. And in the end, the head coach has already proven his wisdom, so let's trust him.

We remind the fans that a very reasonable price is set for flights to Pratapgadh and back, and if you hurry, you will still have time to see a new country in a previously unknown region and the matches of our team.

Dari News TV

Salam viewers today is a very great day for the Sultanate. Our team has won matches 3 times in a row. All players did their part in winning. What do you say Mr. Hayaii?

Hayaii (The team's coach): When we first signed up for this competition we did not expect this at all silent chuckle. Especially when we found out we are going to have a match against Tamil Nayaks, which we thought were much more experienced. But our players did win, by a margin we thought wouldn't be there at all.

Anchor: So it was a big surprise?

Hayaii: Yes, Nazeri, our goalie actually did a really good job. Its because of him and our defenders in all of our matches we didn't let the opponent score a single goal. Now will this streak continue only time will tell.

Anchor: What were the key moment in these matches?

Hayaii: For the 2nd match, the key moments were when the Jaifaris almost scored a goal. Their forward passed through the defenders but at last Nazeri caught the ball and saved us from a draw.

Another key moment was when Shayan (one of the Forwards) was able to dribble through the defences but his goal was stopped, but Afshar got the ball and passed it straight to Shayan again who passed it to Malakooti who passed it straight to Bina and he scored a goal.

Anchor: What about today's match?

Hayaii: Again, it was pretty close and tense. This time we played more defensively. The Shreekaristani striker was really good passing the defence a lot of times. Though Nazeri could stop these goals. Sadly, during the match one of defenders Bahadori got injured and had to be replaced by Layegh. He won't be able to play for a few days.

When 10 minutes were left for the match to end, Layegh got the ball and passed it straight to Bizhman but the ball was taken by their forward, but Bizhman took it again and was able to pass it to Frootan who passed it straight to Bina and goal!

I would like to say that we could do better, like how we beat the Tamil Nayaks by 0-3. But I am very happy by our performance.

Anchor: So time is over, thank you Mr. Hayaii for attending this interview. And khuda hafiz!

Show ends
