Z.I.S.: "CREDIBLE THREATS ARE PRESENT" FOLLOWING CONSTANTIO AND KOSSMIL BOMBINGS

Image
Increased security was present on Friday, 3/19/21, around Congressional Hall in Tofino

TOFINO - The Zamastanian Intelligence Service (Z.I.S.) released a memo to the public after President Moreau's administration raised the terror alert across the country to orange (fourth highest) following a series of terror attacks in Constantio and Kossmil this week, both of which targeted public transportation. The attacks in Norasa, Constantio yesterday left at least 48 dead and consisted of bombings on city buses, while a series of detonations destroyed underground metro trains in Dabatta, Kossmil, killing at least 50. Thousands were injured in the blasts, which constituted Constantio's deadliest ever terror attack and one of the worst ever to strike Kossmil.

President Moreau extened his condolences both to Constantio President Tony Blanian and Kossmil President Kuznetsov and stated in a public remark that the government of Zamastan was offering their services to help in the recovery and reconstruction effort, as well as the counter-terrorism operations that are sure to ensue.

The Z.I.S. has identified numerous threats, saying that "credible threats are present and intent on causing harm to Zamastanian citizens." There are grave concerns amidst the intelligence agency that groups like Al-Fijar sleeper cells, extremists linked to the West Chanchajillan regime, and cells from groups originating due to the Syraranto Civil War, have made threats online and through previous violent action and rhetoric. It has been nearly a year since the last terror attack on Zamastanian soil, which occured on the Tregueux metro in April of 2020. However, the September 27th, 2020 bombing of Air Andaluni Flight 553 originated from Jade Harbor, and dozens of Zamastanians were killed in the downing of that flight. Online activity suggests heightened terrorist movement, and credible threats have been made against public transportation and federal institutions like the Congressional Hall.

Security has increased around major public transportation hubs in larger cities, with security around government institutions in the capital also being increased dramatically. Airport security has been ramped up, as have random checks and procedures at ports of entry.

President Moreau passed an executive order declaring that holds on asylum seekers will be instituted for the next three weeks, to which more liberal leaning critics are saying will lead to a humanitarian crisis as refugees wait to enter the country, but more conservative supporters say will keep the country safe.

MOREAU TO VISIT ALBARINE FOR EMERGENCY ADULA SUMMIT

Following a series of diplomatic meetings on his home turf, including with President Brett Highland of Nebetia at the Zian Presidential Mansion on Tuesday, Moreau will be traveling to Saint Raneau, Albarine, to meet with Chancellor Sadie Melhaven and reconfigure tense relations with WEDA leadership. The latter half of 2020 and the entirity of 2021 has thus far presented challenges that has WEDA leadership operating at a standstill as diplomatic relations in South Adula are strained with increased Drambenburgian militarization, complications with De Yuaneze intervention, the collective organization of SEIAA, and an escalating crisis with collapsing governments.

The Zamastanian government today, in accordance with State Department guidelines, classified the governments of Qolaysia, Alecburgh, Ireqa, and Zalluabed as authoritarian governments. Qolaysia's government under President Abiel Kennard has been surpressing pro-democracy protests in recent months, as has the government of Queen Diana in Alecburgh. The State Department added stipulations to the statement, saying that although Kennard's government instituted democratic elections and removed the influence of military oversight, they were quashing movements against Kennard's constitutional reformation which passed without parliamentary approval and extended term limits.

In the context of Alecburgh's government, which was disolved in accordance with a decree from Queen Diana in January, has not yet been reinstated despite the monarchy's promises, leading the State Department to declare the country and authoritarian dictatorship until such time has passed that elections install a new government. Ireqa and Zalluabed have also been accused of crushing dissent, with Zalluabed specifically conducting raised earth campaigns against villages in its Hisrea province suspected of harboring "rebel groups".

Moreau's conversation with Melhaven, which will be during his first ever state visit to Albarine, is expected to be conductive of all of these major international instances and incidents which have formulated Moreau's foreign policy throughout the course of his presidency.

Moreau has limited his public response to crisises in South Adula during his term thus far, but he has been rather vocal when it has come to supporting regional allies like Albarine and Emmiria specifically, denouncing military action like the Drambenburgian militarization of the region and Zalluabed's Hisrea campaign and interception of shipping vessels, and making certain that WEDA officials are staying up to date and alert on allied response in the region. Zamastanian fleets in Sulifa and New Elkland have remained on standby for mobilization during the past several months in response to escalating tensions.

SAINT RANEAU TIMES
MOREAU AND MELHAVEN MEET AMID WEDA CONCERNS

Chancellor Melhaven and President Moreau Met In Saint Raneau

Image

Image

Saint Raneau - Chancellor Sadie Melhaven met with Zamastanian President Atticus Moreau on Friday in Saint Raneau for an emergency summit called by WEDA leadership. WEDA Secretary General Damian Levasseur was also present at the meeting, as were delegates representing the WEDA member nations of Kuresa, Quetana, and Caspiaa.

WEDA leadership has recently been operating at a standstill as diplomatic relations in South Adula are strained. This all comes with increased Drambenburgian militarization, complications with De Yuaneze intervention, the collective organization of SEIAA, and an escalating crisis with collapsing governments. Today, along with the State Department of Zamastan, the Foreign Ministry of Albarine labeled many South Adulan nations as authoritarian states and called for democratic reforms.

Albarine is bordered by one of these nations; Zalluabed. The Albarinean and Zamastanian governments labeled Zalluabed as a totalitarian regime as their government conducts "counter-terror" operations in the nation's western desert province of Hisrea, where they have been accused of burning villages that have "harbored rebel cells".

Melhaven has been known for her assertive stance on "antagonistic" governments, and the actions of the Zalluabed navy in November of 2020 against Albarinean patrol vessels has certainly soured relations between the two regional powers. Albarine has thrown restrictions, tariffs, sanctions, and hefty patrol against Zalluabed in the months since, as repeated incidents have threatened vessels in international waters.

Chancellor Melhaven is joined in her sentiment against the Zalluabed government and royalty by Zamastanian officials and her counterparts in WEDA. Zalluabed is largely seen as the prevailing worrisome state in the South Adula region, although other concerns have arisen surrounding Qolaysia and Alecburgh in their crackdowns against pro-democracy demonstrations, as have worries around growing militarization by Drambenburg.

Tom Teufel creator Viktor Laffmeyer has passed away

Image

Cartoonist and screenwriter Viktor Laffmeyer died on the night of March 18th and 19th (local time) at the age of 77. Laffmeyer was known as the creator of the Besmenian comic character Tom Teufel.

According to his family doctor, the reason for his death was sudden cardiac death. Laffmeyer is said to have been in poor health for some time. He suffered a heart attack in November 2020 and had to be operated on twice. After the operations, Laffmeyer's health fared a bit better.

Viktor Laffmeyer was born on February 23, 1944 as the son of Werner Laffmeyer (1912-1992) and Gudrun Elke (1915-1986) in Halshom. His older brother Konrad Laffmeyer (1938-1959) was shot by a border soldier in 1959 while trying to escape to East Besmenia at the Besmenian Border Zone. After graduating in 1962, Laffmeyer did his military service in the Besmenian Royal Army. In 1963 he began an apprenticeship in a theater in Halsholm. After the opening of the Besmenian Border Zone, Laffmeyer went to East Besmenia in July 1966. Between 1966 and 1971 he attended the State Film Academy in Könlenz. Laffmeyer then worked as a screenwriter in the State Theater of Könlenz until 1975. In 1974 Laffmeyer wrote the screenplay for the BRF television film Alarm in Freiz. Since then, Laffmeyer has been frequently used as a screenwriter for films and television films, and for a long time was considered one of the best-known Besmenian screenwriters. Laffmeyer wrote the script for a total of 26 episodes for the BRF 1 sitcom Peter. He was also involved in the scripts for the first two Alex films. In 1989 Laffmeyer created the comic character Tom Teufel, which had its first appearance in Tom Teufel Comic #1 in October 1992. Until the discontinuation of the Tom Teufel Comics in December 2020, around 560 comic books had been published. Because of the back then controversial black humor, the comic series quickly became known and became very popular with teenagers and young adults. Together with the producer Ivar Zimmermann, Laffmeyer developed the Tom Teufel Show, based on his comic series. Viktor Laffmeyer also became international for the first time through the Tom Teufel Show While Laffmeyer wrote most of the stories in the comic series, he only wrote about 5 episodes for the TV series. Together with director Helmut Rommel, Laffmeyer wrote the screenplay for the movie Tom Teufel between 2001 and 2002, which is a live action adaptation of his comic series. In 2017 he announced that he would be retiring due to old age.

Since his death was announced, Tom Teufel fans worldwide have been mourning.

Many who knew Viktor Laffmeyer personally or worked with him described him as a personable, friendly man with a great sense of black humor.

Quetana Approves WEDA Foreign Policy Resolution Marking Zalluabed as Authoritarian Government

Image
Albarine Chancellor Sadie Melhaven meets with Quetana Delegate to WEDA Martin Sorberga

VONGANE - President António Brafeo of Quetana and the Government's representative to the Western Euronia Defense Alliance, Martin Sorberga, approved a WEDA resolution drafted by delegates from all 10 member states during a summit in Saint Raneau, Albarine that marks the Kingdom of Zalluabed as an authoritarian government.

Key Zalluabedi officials, like King Farik al-Jamura, President Zayyaan al-Akhtar, Foreign Minister Nashat el-Yusuf, and Defense Minister Jirhanu Bjyala, have all been targeted with intense sanctions by all WEDA member states. Their military actions against civilian populations in the western province of Hisrea have been condemned, and Albarine specifically is calling for al-Akhtar to step down, although Quetana's government has not gone to that length.

Quetana's delegation also issued statements and resolutions along with Albarine and Zamastan that issued the governments of Alecburgh and Qolaysia as authoritarian governments for the suppression of pro-democracy movements.

President Brafeo is set to attend the next WEDA assembly conference in Vitosium in April, where the heads of state or premiere delegates will congregate to further discuss WEDA policy as the South Adula situation progresses.

LIVE: President al-Akhtar Closes Diplomatic Ties with WEDA Nations
The ambassadors to Albarine, Quetana, Kuresa, Caspiaa, and Zamastan have all been recalled to Zakaraban

President Zayyaan al-Akhtar has recalled the ambassadors for five of the ten Western Euronia Defense Alliance nations in response to resolutions passed today decreeing the Kingdom as an "authoritarian regime". Al-Akhtar called WEDA's move "blatant aggression and arrogance," and said that their actions "threatened the rights and sovereignty of millions of free Zalluabedi nationals."

King Farik al-Jamura has decreed a temporary halt on exports over the introduction of sanctions by the WEDA nations to "control an economic inverse as opposed to an uncontrolled economic crisis caused by these illegal actions."

Zalluabed has the 16th largest oil reserves in the world and the fourth largest in Adula, while it has the ninth largest reserves of natural gas. Zonatrach, the national oil company, is one of the largest companies in Adula, supplying large amounts of natural gas to Euronian nations, specifically Drambenburg and Tinten. These sanctions are expected to harm the national economy significantly for the rest of the fiscal year.

Ambassadors and foreign relations being frozen is sure to hamper further diplomatic channels, but authorities say that the move by President al-Akhtar is strategic; meant to force WEDA to a negotiating platform or risk running the blame for increased tensions. TTPA (Grand Alliance) nations have been notified of the ongoing diplomatic drop, and Zalluabed's government is awaiting responses to see if their allies follow suit.

DELOVOY KOYEVKA
BELEROSKOV GOVERNMENT DEFENDS ZALLUABED AND QOLAYSIA, PULLS AMBASSADOR FROM ZAMASTAN

President Nikolai Ubotrov of the Federation of Beleroskov ordered the ambassador to Zamastan to return to Koyevka following the Zamastanian government's classification of key Beleroskov allies as "authoritarian". The Zamastanian State Department classified the governments of Zalluabed and Qolaysia as "authoritarian regimes", accusing Zalluabed of conducting rigged elections and military operations against civilians in Hisrea, and they have accused Qolaysia's government of suppressing pro-democracy demonstrations.

Ubotrov stated that "President al-Akhtar of Zalluabed and President Kennard of Qolaysia are friends of Beleroskov and the people of the Trans-Toyana Prosper Alliance. Their resolve to their own countries are an inspiration of leadership. We are proud to be their ally and have a long lasting history of cooperation. We will continue to support them in practically any endeavor."

Last week, Beleroskovian troops joined Drambenburgians stationed in Zakaraban military bases leased for TTPA operations. The move has been met by dozens of CCA nations as "provocative", although TTPA continues to assert that they are merely expressing sovereign right to defense, especially through an international treaty.

ANDALUNI AND SULIFA ADMITTED INTO WEDA DAYS BEFORE 20th ANNIVERSARY OF ORGANIZATION, AMID HEIGHTENED TENSIONS WITH ZALLUABED AND BELEROSKOV

Image
Saint Raneau, Albarine, saw a historic day in the WEDA General Council resolutions

TOFINO - The General Council of the Western Euronia Defense Alliance has passed a nearly two-year-long waiting resolution to accept the Republics of Andaluni and Sulifa into the organization, a move which comes amid heightened tensions with several Southern Adulan nations. On Saturday, representatives of WEDA at a conference summit in Saint Raneau, Albarine, approved the resolution to accept the two Eastern Adulan nations after the proposal had sat in discourse and debate for nearly two full years. Increased pressure from the governments of Emmiria and Quetana, however, encouraged the unanimous vote to pass, with Andaluni and Sulifa becoming the first states to join the organization since Albarine and Emmiria in 2011.

Secretary General of WEDA, Damian Levasseur (Rio Palito), announced the resolution to an energetic crowd of diplomats and representatives at a hastily organized press pool, saying that "today marks the beginning of our restated resolution to peace and a more prosperous world. WEDA has shifted in the past to be, as you know, more inclusive of the opposite side of the Olympic and Toyana Oceans, and the inclusion of the republic of Sulifa today marks a key naval combination for future endeavor, while Andaluni brings the gap between our Adulan allies closer."

Andaluni's inclusion into the organization means that WEDA is now completely attached and unbroken amid land boundaries, closing a gap between Kuresa and Vitosium by attaching connection with Quetana and Skith, which translates to Emmiria and Sulifa. Talks are already in place for military drills to be established shortly with Sulifan and Andaluni units involved, as are conversations of investments for a shared infrastructure project of continental highways stretching from Sulifa City all the way to Nora and up into Kuresa and Vitosium.

President Atticus Moreau welcomed the organization's decision, lauding it as a "high point in negotiation and collaboration for Zamastanian foreign policy."

The decision, though, comes at an interesting moment. Only two days ago did WEDA establish crippling sanctions against a South Adulan power; Zalluabed. WEDA signified the government and royal family of Zalluabed as an "authoritarian regime" and called last month's elections "state-run power plays," calling for new elections to be held under a watchdog Coalition of Crown Albatross overview. The move angered multiple countries, specifically Zalluabed allies of Beleroskov and Qolaysia, the latter of whom was also sanctioned for suppressing pro-democracy movements and both of whom pulled their ambassadors from Zamastan, Quetana, Albarine, Caspiaa, and Kuresa.

Tensions are not new in the South Adula region, especially recently. This is, however, the most significant step by WEDA since the 1999-2005 War in Vulkaria that the organization has gone to blocking key economic efforts and utilities of a foreign nation. Some experts fear that the current diplomatic crisis, ongoing militarization of the region, and clear divides in political ideology is likening to the Cold War of the 1960s-80s.

Zamastan's own stipulations for their sanctions and condemnation towards the Zalluabed government were extensive, according to multiple statements and documents released by the State Department, but Secretary of State Jessiah Vallotis stated that the move largely had to do with a continuing Zalluabedi military campaign against their own people in the province of Hisrea.

"There have been reports of widespread human attrocities," Vallotis said on Saturday, "reports from the ground and from our own intelligence agencies with cooperation with our allies. Bombings of key civilian infrastructure like hospitals and schools, burnings of villages, mass murder and massacres, sexual violence, it's horrific stuff. The government of Zamastan fully blames and casts responsibility on the government of Zalluabed, President al-Akhtar, and the Zalluabedi Royal Family."

Zalluabed's own response to the crisis was recall to the ambassadors for five of the ten Western Euronia Defense Alliance. President Zayyaan Al-Akhtar called WEDA's move "blatant aggression and arrogance," and said that their actions "threatened the rights and sovereignty of millions of free Zalluabedi nationals."

Bridge Collapse Kills 11 in Blairmore, Nearly One Year After Similar Collapse In Moulins

Image
The Blairmore Viaduct Cross Bridge collapsed onto city streets and rail networks below on March 20th, 2021

A bridge in the heart of Blairmore collapsed on Saturday, killing 11 people as dozens of vehicles and tons of concrete and steel plunged onto city streets below in a disaster that prompted an emergency review of the province's aging infrastructure, nearly a year after a eerily similar bridge collapse occured in Moulins, no more than 30 miles away. The Moulins disaster killed 21 on April 1st, 2020.

Marcus Sakin said he had just finished his shift at the city’s garbage collection company when “I heard something like an explosion and a screech of iron, and in a second we were all covered by a cloud of dust.”

Mr. Sakin went outside, and with his smartphone he started broadcasting the scene on social media.

“I immediately thought of the victims; I held my tears, with difficulty,” he said. “We were impotent, we didn’t have the means to help those who remained underneath.” He said two of his colleagues had been killed.

Long before the collapse, experts warned that the structure was deteriorating and possibly dangerous.

The highway bridge fell by as much as 148 feet just before noon, taking about three dozen cars and three trucks with it, according to Damian Borrelli, chief of the Civil Protection Department in Redeemer's Land Province.

The calamity presented a serious test of Redeemer's Land's new provincial government, a coalition of populist parties that was formed only months ago. They rode to power on a wave of anti-establishment anger against President Foley Sakzi and the Blue Conservative coalition that has a major majority in Congressional Hall, but the coalition is led by people who had little to no experience governing, and now must demonstrate that they can manage a crisis and the scrutiny that comes with it.

Secretary of Transportation Earnest Thompson traveled to the scene of the disaster. The office of Moulin's public prosecutor said it would open a criminal inquiry, examining whether the collapse was because of negligence, and federal authorities indicated that they, too, would investigate.

Thompson said the government had ordered a comprehensive safety review of Redeemer's Land's infrastructure — including viaducts and bridges built in the 1950s and 1960s during the country’s main economic boom. Much of the infrastructure, he warned, was showing signs of age. “This is what Zamastan needs to do, now,” he said.

In a phone interview, Stephen Rachelina, director of the Institute for Construction Technology for Zamastan's National Research Council, said that most of the nation’s infrastructure “needs to be carefully re-examined” because much “was at the end” of its useful life span. He added, “In some cases it can be reinforced, in other cases it will have to be demolished and rebuilt completely.”

Mr. Rachelina said that civil and structural engineering projects in Zamastan were complicated by a national patrimony that dates to antiquity. “Our position, typically, is to try and conserve rather than demolish and rebuild, as happens in other countries,” he said.

The collapse of the Moulins bridge last year was a serious alarm, he said, “because it is not an isolated case — in the last three years, a number of bridges have collapsed in Zamastan, and they are all around 50 years old.”

Albert Daccii, a lecturer at the University of Duncan and an expert on floods and landslides, said “significant urbanization” of the city’s flood plains along with, at times, irrational urbanization, led to channels being narrowed and streams diverted. The result, he said, was a situation where flooding became more common, especially as the intensity of downpours has grown in recent years.

Timerian Ships Travel to Southern Adula

Image
Infinity - Just announced Admiral Naoki confirmed that four Timerian ships will sail through the Emmirian Sea in a show of force that the waters will stay open and free. The squadron is being led by the KTS Somerset a Hydra-class destroyer equipped with the Yata Combat system capable of intercepting ballistic missiles. In response to recent tension in the region, Timeria wants to make it clear that free and open access to international waters is imperative to Timerian national interest. Many ships travel through into the Albarine Sea and the threat to this flow is considered an act against Timerian interest. The Navy wants to ensure that no ships are intercept and free trade can continue. Admiral Naoki stated that “Ships traversing through these waters into the Albarine Sea will be protected at all cost…This is not only important to Timeria but all nations within the region.” It is estimated that trade through the sea is valued at 5.3 trillion annually.

The ships will meet with the aircraft carrier KTS Sean T. Grey in the Toyana Ocean to conduct naval exercises. It’s expected that the ships will stay at sea for two weeks before returning to port. President Raso wants to ensure that the law at sea remains and nations play by a set of rules and international norms. There should never be a time when international trade is threatened and halted by hostile forces as a means to achieve a political goal. There are few ways to traverse the Albarine Sea and this waterway is the most critical to open ocean access.

The tension in the region has hit the stock market and stocks have taken a small plummet. Many investors are worried that any tension in the region could spark conflict and bring trade to a halt. The oil industry has mostly been untouched as most of its assets are locked within the region and out of reach from Southern threats. While most expect the tension to cool off global trade is very volatile and susceptible to outside influences. While investors get cold feet President Raso has ensured all parties trade will continue through free and open navigation of the seas.

Result of the second round of the 2021 Besmenian presidential election

Image

Today, March 21st, the second round of the 19th Besmenian presidential election took place. The voters could choose between Sebastian Bergmann and Vincent von Schilling. Both candidates received the most votes in the first ballot. However, none of them made it over 50%. With a narrow result of 52.9%, BVP candidate Vincent von Schilling achieved the majority. Sebastian Bergmann achieved a result of 46.9%.

The candidates received the following votes:
Vincent von Schilling = 26,522,415 votes
Sebastian Bergmann = 23,514,200 votes
Invalid votes = 100.273 votes

Thus Vincent von Schilling was declared the winner of the election and will become the 14th President of the Federal Republic of Besmenia. He will take up office in April. With a age of 46 years, he is the second youngest elected President in the Federal Republic. He is also the 4th President in the history of the federal republic, who is a member of the BVP.

NORA, ANDALUNI - Andaluni is celebrating the passing of a nearly two-year-long waiting resolution bringing the country into the international defense agreement of WEDA on Sunday, a move which cements Andaluni as the 12th member state. It was accepted alongside another country: the Republic of Sulifa.

As a landlocked nation, Andaluni's acceptance went through a series of debates to it's usefulness to WEDA. A lot of WEDA's allure is the fact that the national navies of each member nation participated in sea faring exercises. Andaluni, without a navy, will still participate in military exercises and will conduct aerial training and ground training operations alongside the allied states.

Bordered by three already-member states (Kuresa, Quetana, and Skith), Andaluni bridges a geographical gap between the WEDA members in Northeastern Adula and Southeastern Adula by connecting the three to each other and subsequently connecting Emmiria and Sulifa in the progress.

Andaluni has already committed delegates to WEDA's conference in Albarine this week, with Fernando Rivers being the chief delegate to the organization for the time being.

Turchi and Son Reunion Happens With Mixed Results

On March 10th, fans of Iron Affinity and Jim Turchi awaited the fated reunion between Turchi and his son, Nick Fiorini. On March 6th, disgraced country star, Jim Turchi, revealed on social media that his son had reached out to him and they were to meet up on March 10th. Nick Fiorini's wife, Sonia, hooted on Owler soon after that announcement admitting to being nervous. She said that tensions between the two were so high that Turchi wasn't even invited to the wedding in 2017. When the two had their child in 2018, it was reported that the former country star wasn't even allowed to see his grandson. However, things may be different.
On March 10th, Monica Fiorini, Jim Turchi's ex-wife, hooted that she will never police Nick and his decisions and, while she will never reconcile with Jim, she hopes that, at least, Nick can have that "father figure" back in his life in some way, assuming "Jim learned his lesson". Many on social media witnessed arguments between the former couple as Jim's relentless loyalty to Raymond Venancias tore them apart, especially after Venancias made personal sexist comments towards Fiorini.

The father and son duo was seen eating in a local restaurant around the Tiomeza area, as Nick Fiorini reportedly moved there recently. A video recording, now having gone viral, shows an annoyed Fiorini telling his father that his "obsession ruined everything".

"He insulted mom and you hooted that he should be a king," he is heard saying in the video. "Venancias was a huge sexist and you stood by his every word knowing what he said."

While the two departed after that with no resolution or hopes for reconciliation, Nick Fiorini hooted on Owler on the 15th that he and his dad decided to talk somewhere more private a few days later. In a video posted to his account, Fiorini spoke about everything going through his mind.

"He knows how badly he screwed up," he mentioned in the video. "He really, really knows and I am grateful for that. I don't know if things will ever be like before, though."

Jim Turchi posted his own video on social media the next day.

"I'm grateful Nick reached out for a second meeting," he told the camera. "We are in a mutual understanding that I know how badly I messed up and that I want to rebuild things slowly."

Star Rebellion Casts Father and Son Duo, Fans Are "Hyped"

Silvo de Borga-Starsky hopes to honour Terry Joseph and his pentalogy of beloved sci-fi movies with a sixth installment. Star Rebellion has become one of the most influential movie franchises, making fans rather nervous at what could be a horrible movie, especially since Terry Joseph has no involvement in it, having announced his retirement a decade earlier. The Star Rebellion pentalogy, which saw the crew of The Platinum Dart save the universe from intergalactic alien overlord, Embram Novold, gained international success and a die-hard fanbase that would love to see a new generation experience the famous sci-fi franchise. While many wonder if a sixth installment would be worth it, the latest news has brought an ounce of hope to the fans.

The villain, Embram Novold, was played by beloved action and sci-fi star, Johnny Montella. Viewers were mesmerized with the way Montella played the character and he became a very beloved villain. Trustworthy sources have come forth saying that Montella's son, Matt Vivali, a well respected actor in his own right, will be playing the new villain with Montella, himself, playing the villain's advisor.

Many are excited to see the acting father and son duo in their first movie together. While there is no word on if any of the original characters are going to return, David Sosa-Cross, who played fan-favourite Shoan Vondin, says that, while he isn't a part of the movie, he is excited to watch a new generation of Star Rebellion protagonists, assuming that none of the original characters are returning.

The movie is set to premiere February 2022.

Big Brother Season 11: Meet the Contestants

Noble, a Vitosian broadcasting network, revealed the Season 11 cast on Friday. Big Brother, hosted by Sofia Venoa, is set to premiere with a new cast of houseguests, as seen below. For the second time, there will be a twist involving returning players acting as Coaches and not official players. Unlike Season 9, where the twist ended and the returning players became eligible for the grand prize, producers have revealed that, this time, the twist will stay for the duration of the game. To catch up, coaches will choose who will be on their team. Should a member of a team win Head of Household, the rest of that team is immune. Should a Coach lose all their players, they must exit the game immediately. Should a Coach's player win, the Coach will win a $150 000 grand prize. Also, unlike Season 9, the game will end two weeks earlier. Before the Coaches twist starts, however, sources say that there is a twist that will bring down fourteen rookies to twelve, which makes sense considering four returning players are returning and need an even team. Here are the fourteen rookies!

OSSOTIA NATIONAL NEWS SERVICE

Beleroskovian and Ossotian troops clashed in disputed Rejebak for the second time in little over a month, leaving at least 10 people dead, including 2 civilians, and wounding more than 20 on both sides, officials said Monday in the newest series of fighting in decades of tensions. Ossotia and Beleroskov have not fought an officially declared war since the 1980s, but they've had a history since the 1984 ceasefire of occasional clashes. On February 11th, 15 were killed in clashes.

Ossotian officials blame the Beleroskovian government of perpetuating a series of attacks against Ossotian towns and meddling in official conducts of policy, including hacking and espionage operations.

Ossotia's President, Kosheleva Manka, called on the Coalition of Crown Albatross to intervene and place sanctions against Beleroskov or support Ossotia directly against Beleroskovian agression.

THE ACADRE TRIBUNE
Parabocan Military Joins East Chanchajilla After Treaty Deal, Joins Campaign Against Western Capital
Parabocan forces are advancing to join Eastern forces near Ivora

President Cardoza of Paraboca announced this weekend that Parabocan forces had agreed to a treaty with East Chanchajilla that brings Parabocan troops directly into the ongoing conflict against West Chanchajilla, a month after it began. Parabocan troops are now being flown and shipped out to the front lines of the conflict alongside the Eastern forces as they battle intensively to take the Western capital of Ivora.

Parabocan forces are expected to play a relatively minimal role in the operations to capture the capital, as the bulk of operations are carried out by Eastern group forces and superior Zamastanian air support. However, the Parabocans are providing vitally strategic supply and intelligence operations, as well as moping up resistance of fighters who continue to remain loyal to the Frederick Armbar regime in smaller towns across the countryside as the forces continue.

Ivora is the final major city in the country that remains to be captured, with the fall of Treviso, Accadia, and Vicalvi last week signifying the quickly concluding combat operations. Despite immense success in the speed at which East Chanchajillan forces have captured regime territory, a speed at which experts are saying is largely unprecedented in modern warfare, casualties have been extensive. Latest data provided by East Chanchajilla indicates nearly 2,000 military deaths across the extensively wide front, with upwards of 10,000 regime fighters being killed and upwards of 4,000 civilian deaths confirmed, with that number expected to climb significantly as towns and cities are more thoroughly cleared, captured, and held.

The expected battle that is already started in the capital of Ivora is also expected to be lengthy relative to the other battles for major urban areas in West Chanchajilla, as the regime forces conducted a strategic retreat to the capital in order to prepare defenses for a final showdown. Zamastanian bombers have been targeting Western forces and key positions within the capital and around its limits, but with recent backlash in the Zamastanian public, Congressional Hall limited some of the striking allowance capability, restricting targeting specific sorts of targets in urban residential areas. This development means the bulk of fighting that already occurs on the ground will get progressively harder and more resistant for East Chanchajillan and now Parabocan forces.

President Cardoza and President Boer of East Chanchajilla met in Vilanja to sign the agreement on Saturday, and on Monday the first Parabocan forces arrived on the front lines alongside the Eastern forces. Back in February when Western agents bombed multiple tourist hotspots in the East and later conducted rocket attacks, which prompted the war, Paraboca's government closed the border with the West which had previously been a key gateway for refugees and asylum seekers. That policy shift indicated the first in a series of events that led Paraboca to side more heavily with the East in its resolve.

The history between Paraboca and West Chanchajilla has never included direct diplomatic relations, but the two nations remained on calm and relatively peaceful terms for decades, even during the multiple wars fought between the East and West. Paraboca maintained neutrality by not siding with either side. Prior to the 1972 Chanchajilla War, there were intense hostilities centered on demilitarized zones, water issues, and both shelling and infiltration from the West, which have been occupied by Paraboca since. However, no incidents have occurred resulting in direct conflict between the two countries. This state of neutrality by Paraboca has all but ended.

President Cardoza, President Boer, and President Moreau of Zamastan are expected to meet later in the week in Vilanja to discuss the conflict and the stages that will certainly follow the fall of Ivora and the hopeful capture of Frederick Armbar, who has still remained illusive and has reportedly remained bunkered in the capital for weeks.

MOREAU MEETS WITH BOER AND CARDOZA TO DISCUSS POST-CONFLICT OUTCOMES

Image
Moreau (center) with Paraboca's President, Garr'n Cardoza (right) and East Chanchajillan Foreign Secretary Marcus Belsia (left) in Vilanja, East Chanchajilla

VILANJA - President Moreau, returning from a four-day visit to Albarine for an emergency WEDA summit, arrived in the East Chanchajillan capital of Vilanja on Tuesday to meet with East Chanchajillan President Gideon Boer, East Chanchajilla's Foreign Secretary Marcus Belsia, and Paraboca's President Garr'n Cardoza. The topic of discussion surrounded the ongoing offensive to capture West Chanchajilla's capital city of Ivora and to bring down the regime of Frederick Armbar, whose figurehead remains illusive despite intense aerial bombardment by Zamastanian bombers and intensive ground operations by East Chanchajillan forces.

Over the weekend, Paraboca's military joined the East in operations on the ground as fighting to capture Ivora grows more intense, and as Zamastan's limits for aerial strikes becomes subject of much debate in Congressional Hall. On Sunday, Congressional Hall passed a temporary resolution limiting the striking capability in urban residential areas, which has the unfortunate aspect for military officials of being the exact epicenter of the heaviest fighting. Armbar's forces, which pressed a strategic retreat into the capital, have established heavy defenses around the capital and specifically in residential zones in an effort to curtail coalition efforts to push further into the city.

Fighting is expected to get gradually more brutal and intensive as the offensive stalls around these areas. Recent figures from East Chanchajillan officials paints a devestating picture of casualties, as nearly 2,000 troops have been killed in little over a month of fighting throughout the country. Zamastanian officials continue to reiterate that no Zamastanian troops will be involved directly in ground operations, although advisors have been deployed across the battlefront.

President Moreau, speaking to reporters alongside Presidents Boer and Cardoza, stated that Zamastan "continues to be committed to the collapse of the regime," and will "continue to provide assistance as efficiently as (they) can." The heads of state reportedly discussed plans that will follow the inevitable fall of Ivora and the hopeful eventual capture of Frederick Armbar. There are plans as of now to establish an interim government moderated and advised by the three nations, which would help conduct rebuilding and security efforts. So far, Paraboca's military role has been reserved to occupying and helping mop up towns with significant resistance from regime loyalists, although with the prolonged seige of Ivora becoming more apparent, they're expected to play a greater combat role in the direct confrontation against Armbar's forces.

State Department Lifts Some Sanctions on Alecburgh, Installs More on Zalluabed

The State Department has lifted a series of sanctions placed on Alecburgh, said Secretary of State Jessiah Vallotis on Tuesday, following their installation of a new interim Prime Minister and cabinet. Interim-Prime Minister Wesley Traven installed a new date for national parliamentary elections due to begin on April 3rd, resulting in multiple nations lifting some of their heftier restrictions on Alecburghian economic resolve.

"We will continue to moniter the elections," Vallotis stated, "and once a new government is officially installed, we will lift every restriction and sanction that we currently have remaining in place."

On the other end of South Adula, however, the story is different. The government of Zalluabed has been hit with another round of crippling sanctions after reports by the Z.I.S. indicated that hundreds of civilians were killed in what the Zalluabed military called "anti-terrorist campaigns" in Hisrea province. Hisrea is known for its sympathies towards separatist movements, but the international community has largely condemned the government for conducting what Speaker Chastain called "abhorrent breaches of humanitarian value and horrific attrocities."

The new round of sanctions places high marks and intense blockages of key economic exports of Zalluabed, including manufacturing, sand, and most importantly oil and natural gas. The sanctions also target the government of Beleroskov, which continues to support President al-Akhtar and his operations through what the State Department calls "excuses to commit genocide against the Hisrean people."

Chancellor Cerfbeer and President Moreau Meet, Enraging Some Environmentalists
Cerfbeer is in Zamastan to discuss economic policy

Image

Tofino - Chancellor Matthias Cerfbeer arrived in Tofino on Wednesday to meet with Zamastanian President Atticus Moreau only hours after Moreau returned from a short visit in East Chanchajilla. The conversation between the two was short, but marked an important moment in Cerfbeer's administration as his first visit to Tofino. Originally, the two leaders were not going to meet, but President Moreau insisted the Chancellor visit the Presidential Mansion for a quick conversation.

Chancellor Cerfbeer is in Zamastan to discuss economic interests, including opening new Zamastanian factories in Jyau and Jyaueze companies being allowed to expand into Zamastanian corporate sectors. The Chancellor also addressed Zamastan's controversial mining sector to President Moreau, stating that it may be the driving force behind the country’s insistence on protecting foreign investors’ rights over laws that guard its own citizens and environmental values.

President Moreau, like Foley Sakzi before him, has doggedly defended corporate rights enshrined in an increasingly controversial aspect of many international trade deals, commonly referred to as an Investor-State Dispute Settlement (ISDS) clause. The provision protects foreign investors from domestic environmental and labor laws that could impede their development of a mine, a pipeline, or other potentially destructive industrial projects.

Chancellor Cerfbeer is interested in sealing a deal between Jyaueze corporations and Zamastanian corporations that would exploit this clause and allow a lucrative deal for Jyau by navigating around the environmental standards proposed. Moreau has proven to critics that he has stepped away from specific promises of environmental protections, and Cerfbeer has repeatedly ignored environmentalist concerns from the country's liberal and green parties.

With the rampant expansion of TAFCA throughout Adula, Cerfbeer's government has been leaning more heavily towards their sphere of Euronian allies for business deals as opposed to their historic neighbors. If this trend continues, the Cerfbeer and Moreau governments will face increasingly hard choices between growing international trade and protecting their mining sectors.

RHAGA TRIBUNE
Sirens Blare In Rabiyadin as Nuclear Plant Experiences Malfunction
Authorities say the situation is under control and is being closely monitored

RABIYADIN - Thousands of people were sent into a panic on Wednesday as a nuclear power plant's emergency sirens blared after a malfunction. The malfunction was apparently caused by a control valve that temporarily failed to turn, causing an electrical shortage that hit the basements of the power plant's turbine buildings and disabled the emergency diesel generators.

The nuclear facility's workers then notified authorities of a "first-level emergency". The switching stations that provided power from the three backup generators located higher on the hillside failed when the building that housed them did not receive the warnings due to the power outage. All AC power was lost to units 1–4. Steam-driven pumps provided cooling water to reactors 2 and 3 and prevented their fuel rods from overheating, as the rods continued to generate decay heat after fission had ceased. Eventually these pumps stopped working, and the reactors began to overheat.

However, authorities now say that water cooling systems were able to stave off the overheating reactors, and the pumps are now working properly. The entire incident took place over a 4 minute span, but the incident is worrisome. The nuclear facility is the oldest in the country, constructed in the late 1960s, as were most of the nation's 8 nuclear plants and subsequent 36 reactors. Authorities maintain that the situation is under control and that the building continues to be closely monitored.

DELOVOY KOYEVKA
NUCLEAR SITES TO UNDERGO FEDERAL INSTITUTED INSPECTION FOLLOWING EMMIRIAN REACTOR INCIDENT

President Nikolai Ubotrov of the Federation of Beleroskov ordered the Federal Nuclear Committee to undertake federal inspections of every single nuclear power plant and fission reactor in the country after an alarming mishap and malfunction at a reactor in Emmiria. Authorities raised concerns surrounding the Emmirian plant, which was built in part with help of Beleroskovian scientists in the 1960s. There are worries that the similar design structure in the Emmirian plant to those in Beleroskov sites may correlate to similar malfunctions.

The Beleroskovian government issued a statement saying that the "nuclear reactor at Rabiyadin raises extensive concerns about the safety of our reactor procedure and the procedure of cooling overheated reactor cells. We are monitoring and conducting investigations and inspections of all nuclear facilities throughout the country as a procedural protocol and situational awareness. We don't believe any of our sites have any high mateine issues that warrant concern, but we would rather be safe than sorry."

Beleroskov also offered assistance to the Emmirian government in the chance that there was any more concern of emergencies at other facilities or continuing worry at the Rabiyadin facility.

PRESIDENT FEROSAN ANNOUNCES REELECTION CAMPAIGN

Image

Benkau - In her hometown, President Amanda Ferosan announced her bid for a second three-year term as an audience of supporters cheered her on. A member of the Liberal Party, President Ferosan was elected as the first female President and first openly gay President, but to a narrow margin. She is hopeful for this second term bid, for which elections will be held in November.

"This movement is only just beginning," Ferosan said in her announcement speech, "and we will take the executive office for another three years."

Her popularity has declined slightly since assuming office, but she has kept pretty consistent ratings ever since. She received backlash from conservatives recently over the signing of an alliance with TAFCA. She has also been criticized for her strong policies for imposing stricter regulations against corporations and the dismantling of monopolies. She has, however, received praise and support for her environmentalist policies and her liberalized LGBTQ support.

She has also received both praise and criticism for her policies of accepting refugees at a greater extent than other times in history, especially as terror attacks throughout the world increase at alarming rates.

"We are working to make Austrolis a better place for all people. We are working to make Austrolis a more prosperous, clean, thriving nation for us and for the next generation of our countrymen and women, and for those who wish to make Austrolis their home."

LIVE: At least 32 killed in train crash
At least 32 people have been killed and 165 injured in a train crash in central Zalluabed, officials say.

Carriages derailed and overturned when two passenger trains collided near the city of Vtava, Vohasyi province.

Emergency brakes were activated on the train in front by "unknown individuals", causing the train behind to crash into it, the country's railway authority said.

President al-Ahktar pledged tough punishment for those responsible.

"Anyone who caused this painful accident through negligence or corruption, or anything similar, must receive a deterrent punishment without exception or delay," he stated.

The incident happened about 165km west of the capital Zakaraban.

One of the trains was travelling between the capital and the city of Carzyajar, while the other was travelling between the port of Karzan and Carzyajar.

More than 70 ambulances were sent to the crash site to take the injured to hospitals.

Photos from the scene showed carriages overturned near a channel of water.

"We need an official to come see what has happened. They can't remove the people from underneath the trains," a man at the scene told ZNN news agency, adding that a crane was needed to help with rescue efforts.

"People are dead, we can't even save the ones who are alive."

THOUSANDS OF QOLAYSIAN PROTESTERS ARRESTED

Image

Thousands of protesters were arrested across Qolaysia, including hundreds in the capital of Leonrau, as anti-Kennard protests continue to ramp up into their fourth month. Since November, hundreds of thousands of demonstrators have been marching for referendums that would reinstall new elections following an attempted coup by the military, backed by foreign influencers.

At least 70 protesters have been killed throughout the length of the protests, with protesters stating that the police and security personnel purposefully fired on the demonstrators, and government officials stating that the numbers killed directly by police are significantly lower, even in the single digits.

President Kennard has stated repeatedly that he will not step down, and that national elections will continue as scheduled in 2023. However, the protesters want national elections to be established as soon as possible, with most demands calling for referendums at the beginning of summer and at the end of the year at the latest.

Constitutional amendments were presented and passed in December following the coup attempt, including two that abolished the military's power in government and abolished limits on terms for politicians, and that sparked the majority of protests.

President Kennard and his cabinet called on allies, such as Zalluabed, Drambenburg, and Beleroskov to help monitor the situation.

President Tee Hsien Moong Calls on President Kennard of Qolaysia to Resign

SINGANA : President Tee Hsien Moong has called on Qolaysian President Abiel Kennard to install new referendums for national elections or resign, in the most direct remarks to the South Adulan nation's recent political strife.

Moong stated that Qolaysia's government should absolutely dissolve, although he states that the dissolving should occur with the will of the people in a referendum for voting. He also stated that if President Kennard does not establish these elections, he should resign immediately.

"My words may not effect the outcome," Tee Hsien Moong said, "but Kennard has proven himself ineffectual and at the very sight of protests and change, He must resign if elections are not established."

The remarks come as hundreds of protesters have been arrested in recent demonstrations in the Qolaysian capital of Leonrau. The Siniaporean government has condemned Qolaysia's government and the institutional function of Abiel Kennard's government, including one in January following the killing of several protesters in demonstrations.

Telgado Joins Calls For Kennard to Resign

Utobanian Chancellor Kennedy Telgado joined Siniapore President Moong's calls for Qolaysian President Abiel Kennard to resign if elections are not established throughout the south Adulan nation.

Qolaysia has been racked with political demonstrations calling for referendums and for Kennard to step down due to recent constitutional powers establishing himself with more power.

Hundreds have been arrested in recent demonstrations. Qolaysia is one of the wealthiest and most prominent nations in South Adula, but has been hit by the international community with tariffs, sanctions, and even classifications of being an "authoritarian government".

Telgado has generally steered away from talking about foreign matters beyond immediate Utobanian influence or interest, but today's statement marks the second time in which she has addressed the ongoing tensions in Qolaysia.
