Vuswistan Votes To Condemn West Chanchajilla In Resolution

TOFINO, ZAMASTAN – The Vuswistan delegation to the Coalition of Crown Albatross general session in Tofino today voted for Resolution 236, which "condemns West Chanchajilla for crimes against humanity, support and conduct of terrorism, and malicious intent to promote violence."

The resolution, as a whole, states the following;
The C.C.A. Security Council,

Recognizing the government of the People's Republic of West Chanchajilla has instituted a policy of committing attacks against foreign governments which have resulted in hundreds of deaths.

Noting diplomats and individuals representing the government of the People's Republic of West Chanchajilla have been expelled, arrested, and charged with drug smuggling, espionage, and attempted violent acts such as intent to commit terror attacks and assassinate foreign politicians.

Noting that Frederick Armbar has conducted operations that have resulted in the arrests of dozens of foreign citizens and journalists, in some cases instances of torture have taken place.

Noting that the Armbar government has executed hundreds of citizens they claim to be dissidents, and executions have extended to political enemies of Frederick Armbar.

Noting that the Armbar government's policies have led to a humanitarian crisis including mass starvation, economic collapse, and a refugee crisis.

Noting that the Armbar regime supports the authoritarian and tyranical regime of Kyraikos Tasoulas, the former-President of Ossinia Martin Saint-Yves, and support for terror organizations such as Al-Fijar and the Malvarian Liberation Front.

Believing that the actions of West Chanchajilla's government should be condemned;

Hereby condemns West Chanchajilla for crimes against humanity, support and conduct of terrorism, and malicious intent to promote violence.

Representative Kris Kroikosa, the Vuswistan delegate to the C.C.A., issued a scathing statement in the delegation's surprisingly early casting of their vote, stating "West Chanchajilla's government is the most dangerous threat to the world and the safety of Euronia. They must face the consequence of their support of terror."

The resolution, which will be at vote in Tofino until Monday, has already attracted multiple "for" votes. The official conclusion will not close until Monday, because due to General Assembly rules, the CCA needs to allow emergency respondents for resolutions time to convene with their governments and be present for the vote. Vuswistan's early vote is an indication of strong opinion against the Armbar regime.

NORA, ANDALUNI - According to the most recent report by the government the unemployment rate in Andaluni has fallen from 10% at the start of January to 9.8% at the start of the month of February. This marks Andaluni's lowest level of unemployment since December 2014. Unemployment fell from 1,232,756 at the start of January to 1,207,074 at the start of February, a fall of 25,682.

The rise has largely been attributed to recent economic policies of the government including investments in industrial sites in & around the Nora area as well as the start of construction for the new A-13 motorway linking up the north & south of the country including the country's largest industrial district. Furthermore, consumer confidence has hit a new high. However, there have been some criticism to the falling unemployment with some pinning it mainly on the government's relaxation of labour laws & not their other economic policies.

When asked to comment on the recent economic developments the Minister of the Economy, Benjamin Peltonen, said that "the government has been working very hard on improving the economy and bringing Andaluni on a par with it's Adula neighbours. There has been severe neglect of infrastructure for many years and we are starting to the see the benefits of the funding we are putting into this. However, much is still left for us to do."

As conflicts continue, Syrarantoans flee west and south to escape the conflict.

Image
Women and children from Uuanian Province have begun arriving on the shores of southeast Constantio.
Constantiopolis, Constantio - As the civil war in Syraranto continues to escalate and violence spreads across the country, displaced peoples and those running from the conflict have finally made their way to Constantio in a significant number.

Just the other day it was reported by Constantio media that more than 500,000 Syrarantoans had sought refuge in the country since the war began in June of 2020. The Syraranto Government itself has warned of an exodus of individuals fleeing from the "terror of rebels" and "rampant extremism", although most refugees are believed to be fleeing from the Tasoulas regime's violence.

Over 4,000 people have made their way across the western Sotoan Sea, passing through the Uska Archipelago, since last Saturday. The Syrarantoans have mainly made their way across through the use of rafts, small fishing vessels or paying passage on larger trawlers. Most of those 4,000 who have made their way from coastal Tarasto have been found to originate from further inland.

Over 90% of these refugees have been estimated to be women and children. One of them, who identified herself as Hahyma Jyakois, said to us that: "I no longer felt safe in Uuanian. I tried to convince my sisters and my cousins to flee as well, but they would not. My children needed to be out of that city. There is bloodshed on the streets. Rampant killings, indiscriminate killings. No food, no water, little electricity. That is not a life for anyone. We cannot go back."

Much like the rest of the refugees, Hahyma finds herself currently awaiting processing at a customs facility in Balgita. She told the Federal that she had expected such processes, but the others had convinced themselves of safety once off of their respective boats. She was concerned about how long they would go without becoming distressed further.

Constantio has confirmed that it has suspected individuals would be fleeing from the frontlines further east, but conceded that "fleeing across the Sotoan Sea basin was not something we entertained was going to happen." One senior figure, who wished to remain anonymous, admitted that as far as he was aware there were "efforts to build temporary housing and settlements within the eastern provinces. It would appear these have been found to be inadequate by those who use them."

With much of the Syrarantoan navy operating along the south of the country, much of Syraranto commitments to the Nortuan nations to keep patrolling the straits for human trafficking and refugees have dissipated. It can be expected that unless drastic action is taken soon, with confidence restored in the capability of the Syraranto government to protect its people, more and more people might view crossing the Sotoan Straits a viable alternative to their current situation.

The Syraranto government, of course, has remained closed to dialogue with its neighbouring countries -- especially on finding ways to best contain a potential crisis. However, peace talks are expected to resume soon in Vuswistan.

PEACE TALKS STALL AS KEY DISAGREEMENTS EMERGE

BUENA VERA, ARTEGANA - The peace talks between Qolaysian and Togarian representatives have stalled in Buena Vera as key disagreements between the two governments have emerged, most important being the utilization of trade routes through the Togana Pass.

As representatives have been in talks for the past week, no agreements have been reached as the Qolaysian government, who occupies Togana, is resilient to allowing a shared Coalition peacekeeping mission to moderate Togarian trade through the region, which has been at a state of conflict since 2008. Rebels on the island of Togana, additionally, have expressed that they feel "isolated" during the course of the talks, with their demands not even being addressed once in the general sessions.

Arteganan officials, who have been moderating the talks, have called for a pause in the talks until a new set of agreements, both negotiable and non-negotiable for each party, can be addressed and written out. Talks are set to resume next week after a break in the weekend, but the stall has some experts worried that it will continue much longer than that.

International observers are also being drawn away from the talks, as the recent news coming from Euronia and the West Chanchajilla condemnation resolution in the Coalition of Crown Albatross General Assembly session has distracted from the low-level-conflict talks.

MOREAU "ENGAGED AND HEATED" OVER WEST CHANCHAJILLA

TOFINO - President Atticus Moreau is reportedly "engaged and heated" over the rapidly escalating tensions with West Chanchajilla, according to Secretary of State Vallotis, in the wake of two deadly terror attacks this week in East Chanchajilla. The President, who made his first public statement since the devestating bombings in Meguén and Vilanja which killed a total of 97 people and injured nearly 400, reportedly is hyper-focused on finding a solution through "any means," Vallotis told reporters.

"President Moreau is engaged and heated over these developments," he said in context, "and obviously whenever an international crisis such as this rears, the President is ready to respond. This particular time, the delay in his statement being made was in regards to the sensitive and important security concerns these bombings have had on our national response. Our administration is dead set on finding our way through this by any means."

President Moreau made his first public statement following the attacks in East Chanchajilla and the new resolution at vote currently in the Coalition of Crown Albatross headquarters in Tofino. In his televised address from the Presidential Mansion, Moreau said "Armbar is a ruthless, evil, tyranical dictator. He cares not for the people of East Chanchajilla, the lives of the innocent, the lives of those caught in the way, and above all, he cares not for his own West Chanchajillans."

Image

"Zamastan will, of course, be voting to condemn the People's Republic government in the General Assembly resolution," Moreau reaffirmed, "but my administration will also be instituting additional sanctions on Armbar and his regime officials. There is a significant national security threat being posed to Zamastan through these last several days, and we are making sure to take every precaution."

"Additionally," the President continued, "we are instituting new security measures at our transportation hubs and government institutions as a precaution. We are committed to keeping Zamastanians safe above all else. We are never going to let anyone get away with harm on our citizens. We will take every measure to protect our homeland, and if a single Zamastanian is harmed from this point on by West Chanchajillan aggression, there will be severe consequences."

Moreau's tough stance has many worried that he's edging towards a possible military strike against West Chanchajilla, although officials in the Zian Presidential Masion have stipulated that "every option is on the table", ranging from peaceful diplomatic resolutions to a more escalated one.

The Zamastanian delegation to the Coalition of Crown Albatross signed onto and agreed to pushing Saint Croix and Bens' Resolution 236 to a vote in the General Assembly today, which is meant to pass an official international condemnation against the Frederick Armbar government and establish a new set of sanctions meant to restrict West Chanchajillan diplomatic travel and monetary access.

As security escalates across the country in the wake of the bombings in East Chanchajilla, authorities are citing concerns with immigration from Paraboca as a key aspect of the bomber's access to public areas. While the attacks in East Chanchajilla have been against civilian targets, the purpose has been deemed to be assassination of prominent political figures. Prominent politicians and judges in Zamastan are being advised to stay away from restaurants or large public settings whenever possible, although no official restrictions have been set in place.

The rupture was detected Saturday morning, triggering evacuations as emergency crews work to clean up the leak

Residents of Fiatvaue raised the alarm when the crude oil pipeline burst several kilometres away from the town burst open. 230 have been evacuated.

FIATVAUE - A pipeline break northwest of Saint Marina has leaked over 7,300 barrels (1.16 million litres) of crude oil according to clean up workers, making it one of the largest leaks in Albarinean history. The pipeline carries crude oil from offshore oil fields in the Albarine Sea across the country to Saint Marina. The line has been closed until the cause of the leak is determined.

The leak from Compagnie Interprovinciale de Pipelines' (CIP) Albus pipeline, discovered early Friday morning, was initially estimated to have spilt roughly 500 barrels however the most recent estimates have increased that number twentyfold. The original estimate was revised after workers collected data from the site. The spill is now contained and about 160 workers are now recovering oil from soil and nearby stagnant water.

With the current estimate the Albus leak is now the largest crude oil pipeline spill in the province since the 1991, according to Marcus Baudet, the minister of energy for the province of Dapetus. The incident in question took place when 3,000 barrels of crude oil leaked from a Petro-Albarine pipeline.

"It's easily the largest spill involving crude oil seen in Albarine in the past twenty years," Baudet said. Corrective efforts are now underway, a process Baudet said will take weeks. The split crude oil will be skimmed off the surface of the water and the contaminated soil will be dug up and trucked away. No one was injured in the incident, however the compromised section of pipeline is less than 100 meters from a small river and several lakes and ponds, according to Jacob Compere from Albarine's ministry of the environment.

"There remains a distinct possibility that the spill may have a larger impact than initially anticipated. An area of five hectares has been contaminated in a densely forested area." said Compere. "We are monitoring the quality of the region's environment and ecosystem very closely."

Concerns have been raised by members of the community and local residents regarding the hazards of the spill and the lack of communication with the band.

“The spill in 1991 took two years to clean up. There will be a lot of soil and vegetation that will be contaminated with oil,” said Chris Vidal, mayor of the town of Fiatvaue. "When we learned of the leak CIP denied us access to the area surrounding the pipeline. Then a few hours later we were told to evacuate our land. We haven't heard much else from the government of Albarine or the company since."

National attention has been drawn towards the incident as Albarineans fear the possibility of the split oil spreading across a wider area. The spill has come at a tumultuous time as environmental activists continue protest the government's recent push to expand of Albarine's energy infrastructure, a response to recent instability and opportunities in the oil market.

January saw several thousand Albarineans demonstrate in front of parliament in Saint Raneau and in other major cities across the nation, protesting against the construction of PetrolChain pipeline in central Albarine. Protestors responded by blockading Albarine's rail lines throughout the country and demanded the release of the arrested demonstrators. Albarinean Chancellor Sadie Melhaven held talks with protestors in order to reach a peaceful resolution but dialogue quickly fell through despite concessions made by the Chancellor.

The majority of arrested anti-pipeline demonstrators were later released or fined by the first week of February. In the aftermath of the releases, Chancellor Melhaven made a statement during a press briefing promising that the government would strive to find a middle ground that would maintain tribal, environmental commitments while responsibly continuing the expansion of Albarine's energy network.

Legislation calling for oil companies to adhere to more intensive inspections of existing pipelines, stricter inspection schedules, and further safety regulations was stalled in the upper house. Protests against the pipeline continue into the present day. The Albus leak has generated immense backlash for the Chancellor on social media with many being quick to call Melhaven out for her previous statements.

"You'd hear about these kind of incidents in developing countries, but not in Albarine," said one social media user.

Satellite dishes banned in Cechena

The government of Cechena has banned all satellite dishes, and is in the process of “demolishing” existing satellite installations. The intention is to fully block access to international TV and radio signals coming into the country via satellite.

In an official statement the government is demanding all dishes to be removed from apartments of private properties and has fully “prohibited” their use.

According to a report in The Times of Western Nortua, the decision “is aimed at fully blocking access of the population of Cechena to hundreds of independent international media outlets which are currently accessible in the country only through satellite dishes, including all leading international news channels in different languages. The main target of this campaign is Radio Esgati, the Cechen-language service of Radio Liberty/Free Nortua. It is the only independent source of information about Cechena and the world in the Cechen language and is widely listened to in the country.”

The press report states that almost every home in the nation has a dish, legally acquired over the past 20 years of satellite broadcasting.

NORA, ANDALUNI - The six month investigation into the bombing of Air Andaluni Flight 553 has concluded, with authorities backing their theory with determination that a bomb brought down the plane mid air during a flight from Jade Harbor to Nora, with a layover in Vongane. On 16 September 2020 it was operated using Toring 757 registered TA-0T. It disintegrated in midair en route from Jade Harbor to Vongane, at an altitude of 31,000 feet (9,400 m) over the Olympic Ocean, as a result of the explosion from a suicide bomber aboard affilliated with the terrorist group Al-Fijar. The remnants of the airliner fell into the ocean approximately 120 miles (190 km) east-northeast of the northeast tip of Quetana, killing all aboard: 178 people, including 90 Kuresan citizens, 29 Andaluni citizens, 18 Rio Palitoan citizens, 16 Quetanan citizens, 10 Zamastanian citizens, 8 Caspian citizens, and 7 Emmirian citizens. The bombing of Air Andaluni Flight 553 is the largest mass killing in Andaluni and Kuresan history, the deadliest aviation accident in the history of Air Andaluni and was the deadliest act of aviation terrorism.

Kalumaan Al-Babur was identified as the bomber by the Zamastanian Intelligence Service and the Emmirian State Security Committee. Four days after the bombing, two attempted attacks are foiled in connection to the bombing. Ahmad Suadya Mumaar attempted to blow up Omicron Airlines Flight U829 midflight from Amarjel, Durnstaal to Vessalia, Avergnon, but was subdued by passengers and arrested by the Central Intelligence Bureau upon the plane's emergency landing. At around the same time, Akbani bin Ahmaura attempted to detonate a car bomb in Viitaniemi, Caspia, but the bomb failed to explode and bin Ahmaura was arrested by the Capsia National Security Bureau.

Investigators in Andaluni officially concluded the investigation stating that Kalumaan Al-Babur got onboard the plane through a stolen identification card and passport with passing similarity to the real owner, who is remaining anonymous for safety reasons. Al-Babur died during the bombing, as did everyone onboard.

VONGANE JOURNAL
QCV Hesker Raised Four Years After Disaster

A ferry has been raised from the sea bed, four years after it sank in one of Quetana's deadliest disasters.

The QCV Hesker sank off the port city of Baleicos on 6 February 2017 killing 204 people, almost all school children on a trip.

It has been winched to the surface so a platform can be inserted under it for it to be towed ashore.

It is expected to arrive at port in less than two weeks, where it will be met by the families of victims.

The bodies of nine victims are believed to still be trapped inside the sunken ship, and raising it was one of the central demands of their families.

The government bowed to pressure to raise the 6,825 tonne vessel, one of the most complex operations ever attempted.

The 16-year-old daughter of Mia Delerso was one victim whose remains were never found.

"To see the Hesker again, I can't describe how I'm feeling right now," Ms Delerso told the Vongane Journal as he watched the raising of the ship from a boat nearby.

The sinking was blamed on a combination of illegal redesigns, cargo overloading, the inexperience of the crew member steering the vessel, and lax government regulations. The ship's captain was later convicted of murder.

SAINT CROIX JOURNAL
Saint Elmenau is Southern Adula's weekend cocaine capital
On weekends, Saint Elmenau is South Adula’s cocaine hot spot. During the week it is second only to Leonrau when it comes to the amount of cocaine consumed on a daily basis.

Image

Saint Elmenau - The statistics come from a Quetanan-based wastewater study of 56 cities in 29 countries. This week the Quetanan-based Adula Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction identified Leonrau, Qolaysia, as the overall cocaine capital of Adula, followed by Saint Elmenau, Courbagne, Vongane, and Sulifa City.

Researchers calculated that the average daily concentration of cocaine in Leonrau wastewater was 965 mg per 1,000 people per day; in Saint Elmenau it was 934 mg. However, Elmenau's weekend wastewater contained 1,108.5 mg of cocaine, compared with 1,101.2 in Leonrau.

For overall mean consumption (mg/1,000/day), four Saint Croix and Bens cities featured in the top eight: as mentioned, Saint Elmenau ranked second (934 mg), Beresa fifth (822 mg), Sakoyva sixth (795 mg), and Burbayk eighth (563 mg) – with weekend consumption considerably higher.

The study of drug-taking behaviours of South Adulans analysed daily wastewater samples in the catchment areas of wastewater treatment plants over a one-week period. Scientists analysed the wastewater for traces of four illicit drugs: cocaine, amphetamine, methamphetamine and MDMA (ecstasy).

By sampling wastewater scientists can estimate the quantity of drugs used in a community by measuring the levels of illicit drugs and their metabolites excreted in urine.

The wastewater analysis indicated that cocaine use is highest in eastern and southern Adulan cities, particularly in cities in Quetana, New Elkland, Sulifa, and Kuresa. There is very low to negligible cocaine use in the majority of eastern Adulan cities, however, with its use significatnly dropping in the Western continent.

For ecstasy Saint Elmenau was ranked fourth (81 mg per 1,000 people per day).

The loads of amphetamine and methamphetamine detected in Saint Croix wastewater were considerably lower than in northern and eastern Adulan cities.

Emmiria and Sulifa hold joint-military drill
Exercises include shooting at sea and air targets and liberating hijacked ships, as well as search-and-rescue and anti-piracy operations.

KUYE - Emmirian forces have concluded a two-day naval exercise with Sulifa in the northern part of the Toyana Ocean.

Forces and vessels from the navy divisions of both the Emmirian army and the Islamic Guard Corps (IGC) participated in the drill, which kicked off on Saturday, alongside several vessels from the Sulifa navy.

Admiral Gholamreza Tahani, spokesman for the drill, said the exercise his country was conducting with Sulifa was flexibly designed to allow several other countries to join it at any time, adding that the San Martina navy had requested to join.

Mohammad Khanzadi, commander of the Emmirian navy, had said the Verdusan navy would participate in the drill over an area of 17,000 square kilometres (6,500 square miles).

Emmiria, Sulifa and Verdusa held similar exercises in 2019.

The exercises will include shooting at sea and air targets and liberating hijacked ships, as well as search-and-rescue and anti-piracy operations. Emmiria says it hopes to exchange information and technical and tactical experience while becoming better-equipped to “fight sea theft and terrorism”.

Emmiria's army and the IGC have conducted several drills in the past two months in a show of force amid tensions with Southern Adulan countries and Drambenburg.

These exercises saw a variety of locally manufactured long-range missiles, drones, tanks, warships, submarines and helicopters tested on land, sea and air targets.

Zamastanian Air Force Z1B Bombers Have Just Arrived At Esland Air Station, Caspiaa

Four Zamastanian Air Force Z1B bombers from the 7th Bomb Wing at Delevais Air Force Base, Zian, have deployed to Caspiaa, as part of a BTF (Bomber Task Force) mission. Flying under WEDA guidelines and supported by tankers, the Z1Bs have arrived at Esland Air Force Station, Caspiaa, an important air base operated by the Royal Caspiaan Air Force. The air station is the home of the RCAF Z-14 MOB (Main Operating Base) and also hosts search and rescue helicopters and a FOL (Forward Operating Location) of the WEDA E-3A AWACS fleet.

Image

Noteworthy, as explained in the article published when the deployment was announced, while the strategic bomber missions have provided theater familiarization for aircrew members and opportunities for Zamastan integration with WEDA allies and regional partners since 2018, the deployment, marks the first time Zamastanian bombers operate out of Caspiaa. Indeed, on May 20, 2020, two Z1B Lancers from the 28th Bomb Wing conducted a mission to the region. That mission, one in a series of long-range strategic Bomber Task Force missions to Northwest Euronia, was worth of note for at least a couple of interesting details: first, it marked the first time Z1Bs flew over Caspiaa to integrate with Caspiaan Gripens while conducting close-air support training with Caspiaan Joint Terminal Attack Controller ground teams at Vidsel Range; second, the B-1s integrated with Royal Caspiaan Air Force Z-14s to fly tactical sorties and conduct a low-approach over Esland Air Station, Caspiaa, the home of the RCAF’s recently operational Z-14 fleet.

“I’m looking forward to showcasing our ability to operate out of this new location and get after the mission in fresh environments,” said Gen. Mark Henerson, Zamastanian Air Force's in Euronia-Air Forces commander, in a public release. “Training with allies like Caspiaa enables us to hone our deterrence and defense capabilities while also enhancing regional stability.”

Upon arrival in Caspiaa, all ZAF personnel, who were screened prior to depart, will immediately practice a two-day disease prevention Restriction of Movement (ROM).

SINGANA DAILY

Commentary: Here's how green bonds will take Siniapore's reputation as a finance hub to the next level

The Siniapore Government’s move to issue green bonds for S$19 billion worth of infrastructure projects positions the country as a trusted hub for green finance, say PwC’s Ming Eu-Lin.

SINIAPORE: Fuelling the nation’s ambitions to transition into a low-carbon economy and to be a leading green finance hub in Nortua and beyond, the Government announced it will issue green bonds for S$19 billion worth of infrastructure projects at the Siniapore Budget 2021.

These green bonds are significant given that ASEAN’s total green bond issuances from 2016 to 2019 was approximately only Z$8.1 billion (S$10.8 billion), of which 55 per cent was contributed by Siniapore .

This move positions Siniapore yet more firmly at the centre of the green bond market regionally, even as it compliments Siniapore's already prominent role as a regional hub for infrastructure financing.

The year 2020 was a record for the global green bond market, with issuance of over Z$269.5 billion, a shade up from 2019’s record of Z$266.5 billion.

The Climate Bonds Initiative, which sets standards for green issuers, expects a tenth consecutive year of growth in 2021, with global issuance between Z$400 billion to Z$450 billion for the year.

The aim of green bonds is to fund projects that have positive environmental benefit and they differ from conventional bonds particularly in relation to the use of the proceeds.

The proceeds need to be focused towards financing (or refinancing) green-related projects including those which support the Coalition of Crown Albatross’ Sustainable Development Goals.

To promote the integrity of the green bond market, issuers should comply with established frameworks and guidance (such as the Coalition Capital Association’s Green Bond Principles (“GBP”) or Climate Bond Initiative) which emphasise on use of proceeds, process for project evaluation and selection, management of proceeds and reporting.

It provides guidance by way of a list or taxonomy of potential green projects too.

For Siniapore, the Budget 2021 initiative can lead to attracting investors looking for green investments, and green bond issuers, and will deepen market liquidity for green bonds.

For governments, green bonds often offer a sizable pool of possible funding that could be accessed to fund much needed infrastructure projects and the greening of urban centres and assets within the country and regionally.

RHAGA TRIBUNE
President Akram Sulaiman Delivers First Parliamentary Address
Sulaiman Addressed a Split Legislature on Topics Ranging From His Ascension to the Presidency to the Trade War with Yuan

RHAGA - In what was guaranteed to be his most important speech of his presidency, especially to date and if not for the entirety of his tenure in its current form, President Akram Sulaiman addressed the Emmirian Consultative Assembly for the first time. In his address, he discussed a variety of topics, including the unorthodox nature of his assumption to the office of president, the tensions with West Chanchajilla, Drambenberg and South Adulan countries, the ongoing trade disputes with De Yuan, and the conclusion of military operations in Saudi Jiddiya.

On the subject of his presidency, Sulaiman told a split Emmirian Consultative Assembly that he knew their agreements were as divided as their political parties were.

"It is by your grace and endeavor that I stand here today among such distinguished individuals," the President said, "and I am grateful for your work. You may be divided in opinion, in party, in theology and demographic, but we are one Emmirian nation and must work together to continue our nation's strive."

Among the propositions he delivered to the Parliament, Sulaiman included the endeavor for Emmiria's new plan to send astronauts to space in their own agency without foreign rockets for the first time in the summer of 2021.

"Emmirians will aim for the stars and land among the great histories of science and technology," he said, "we must achieve greatness as a nation without lensed support. We must do this ourselves."

Image

Sulaiman also touched on the ongoing foreign tensions with multiple countries.

"Emmiria's foreign interests have always been at risk. We, however, are at an interesting crossroads. With a dangerous and radical regime threatening our allies in Euronia, a staunch militarized Drambenburg, and unchecked violence in the seas," Sulaiman said, "Emmiria has to remain vigilant. Strong in our own regard. Resolved to our support of our allies. Resilient. Brave. Perseverant. Unrelenting."

Sulaiman also touched on trade relations with Yuan, which have been strained by tariffs by the People's Republic.

"Yuan devalues their currency to hurt anyone who won't bow to them. We need to proceed carefully on the front of our economy and the economies of the world, but we can no longer allow Yuan to push us around."

To conclude his speech, Sulaiman mentioned his planned withdrawal of Emmirian forces from Jiddiya following a prolonged combat operation against terrorists and insurgents that pitted Emmirian soldiers in difficult urban combat. 800+ Emmirian soldiers have been killed since November, but Sulaiman has instated plans to withdraw from combat roles and transition that back to Jiddiyan government and Mulfuliran troops.

"The Jiddiyan people are safer than they were," Sulaiman said, "but the job isn't done. We aren't completely leaving them be, we will continue to support. But our combat operations are over."

VUSWISTAN BROADCAST SERVICE

Syraranto Peace Talks to Resume in March

Tyrnatini, Vuswistan – Peace talks aimed at ending or mediating the brutal civil war in Syraranto, which stalled in October of 2020, are expected to resume under a new set of guidelines in the second week of March, says President Panagiotakis Nicolalis. Nicolalis stated that the new resurrection of peace talks "summon a new chance to end the world's worst conflict since the World War, and has the chance to mediate the worst humanitarian disaster since likewise."

The Syraranto Civil War has claimed over 400,000 lives since its eruption in June of 2020, and peace talks between the Tasoulas regime and Syrarantoan rebel forces stalled to a halt in October after the regime argued that there was no impartiality among international observers, most of which were members of delegations party to crippling sanctions on Syraranto's government.

These new talks come after a new guidelines set was established by neutral Great Lutharian moderators, which essentially states each side of the conflict can allow no more than 2 international delegation observers and that representation from rebels will be limited to the three "most prolific groups" as opposed to the previous sixteen groups present in the October talks.

While the reinvigoration of talks is receiving extensive praise from international diplomats, some are skeptical.

"There are going to be significant dilemmas in this process, of course." said Abuma Malakai, a representative for the rebel group Balgita Nationalist Forces, who is part of the three-team delegation. "There are significant problems with only allowing representation from a small handful of our revolutionary cause. Tasoulas massacres us, with no alleviation for who he kills. Despite this, our differences among cells are too extreme and complex for us to represent on behalf of us all. We cannot in good conscience support some groups, exclude others, and leave thousands to be slaughtered."

VOGOCI SUN
Prime Minister Lynne Bushore Asks Public For Support In Achieving Early Legislative Election

Prime Minister Lynne Bushore is determined to fulfill her promise of holding an early legislative election, which the Nationalist Party of Offeat is greatly concerned about due to a fear of losing their majority in the Parliament, but will follow through with constitutional and democratic requirements. Bushore and the NPO have tensions between them due to the progressive policies of the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Bushore said her administration would keep the cabinet that she had inherited from impeached Prime Minister Haden Dilec in 2018. Prime Minister Bushore explained that additional reasoning behind keeping the current cabinet from the previous administration, is also because the PM wishes to appoint a new cabinet with the approval of the new parliament after the early legislative election she seeks, which is why the head of state would not be appointing a new cabinet in cooperation with the current parliament. This is the reason for establishing early elections and a new legislative effort.

Prime Minister Bushore had the following to say:

I have nothing personal against the lawmakers in the current parliament. I made it clear personally and I hope the colleagues in the Offeat government understood that clearly. However, I made a promise to my voters to start anew and I will follow through with that promise. And now I ask support from the Offeatean people in allowing me to achieve this, because the constitution does not allow me to do this single-handedly. Let us not use up too much time on this, because all of us, as Offeateans, have greater tasks to attend to. The future awaits us.

VILANJA SENTINEL
"DEVESTATING ATTACK" UNDERWAY AS ROCKETS FALL ON CITIES ACROSS NORTHWEST PROVINCES
East Chanchajillans woke up to air-raid sirens, as West Chanchajillan rockets were fired across the border

VILANJA - An estimated 600 rockets were fired from West into the East, as air-raid sirens blared across the provinces of Turania, Norta, and Vilanja. East Chanchajillan anti-missile defense systems sprang into action, with President Boer stating that hundreds of rockets were intercepted. However, the sheer number of missiles fired in such a short span of time overloaded response systems, a military official stated, and an approximate number of 400 missiles struck the ground, raining destruction randomly across cities in the northwestern provinces.

In the city of Turania, over 300 people are confirmed dead as rockets struck largely residential areas, and thousands more are injured. The story is less grim in Nortagate and Vilanja, although dozens are also confirmed dead. As hundreds of buildings were hit indiscriminately, authorities say that they may not know the entire human toll for days as rescuers continue to search for missing people.

"This is a devastating attack," President Boer stated not long ago on national television, "and it is not over yet. There is no reason to assume West Chanchajilla is done. Please, stay hunkered down and under cover until further notice."

Boer's pleading for citizens to stay in cover sparked a different tone to his usual resilience and strength he has portrayed in recent days following series of West Chanchajillan terror attacks.

Missiles have fallen on East Chanchajilla before, but this is the most prolific and extensive attack to date since the 1972 War.

"This is an act of war," Boer stated, "and we will respond forcefully."

Some rockets hit schools and hospitals, according to authorities, resulting in a straining of hospital capacity that has doctors worried they won't be able to treat the tremendous influx of patients from the attack.

“We hear the alarm for the ‘red code’ and we know we have 15 seconds to find a place to hide ourselves,” said Dr. Emanual Tobaar, who was at a hospital in Turania when the rocket attack started. “One moment we had over 140 rockets. We had to rush to a shelter. You just live in a shelter. You don’t have a life down there.”

However, members of the medical staff had to immediately regroup when the warnings sound, because “a few minutes after the rockets hit we have the ambulances.”

“As soon as we hear the sirens of the ambulances we know we have to be there,” said Tobaar. “No matter which, CEO or secretary, you’ve got a job and you have to go into work no matter what time it is.”

Image

Initial reports indicated that rockets had landed in an open area in the Turania region, as did mortar rounds. There were no reports of injuries or damage. However, these initial rockets were the first of a major stage of firing, and are believed to have been "test launches" to adjust for where the higher volley of rocket fire would be directed by West Chanchajillan forces.

There were six volleys of rocket launches over a three hour span, with the initial volley hardly causing damage, the second causing the air raid sirens to go off, the third and fourth causing extensive damage, and the fifth and sixth being largely intercepted by SAM defensive measures.

Parabocan government officials have also issued warnings and have placed counter-rocket measures in place in case the Armbar regime decides to lash out against their previously lenient neighbor, in possible retaliation for their recent closure of diplomatic relations.

East Chanchajillan forces have been put on highest alert, and there are significant worries from the population that a military strike, which was only thought and whisper a few days ago, is now nearly unanimous as a certainty.

THE ACADRE TRIBUNE
PARABOCA ON HIGH ALERT FOLLOWING ROCKET ATTACKS
West Chanchajillan rocket attacks struck East Chanchajilla, killing hundreds

President Cardoza of Paraboca has executively moved the nation's terrorism levels to their highest ever and has placed the military on high alert following an intense barrage of rocket attacks throughout the morning of February 23rd crippled the nation of East Chanchajilla in yet another act of excessive violence by the reclusive Frederick Armbar regime.

"We stand with East Chanchajilla." Cardoza spoke valiantly in a national address regarding the attacks. "We will stand with them until this threat has dispersed. Until the day that West Chanchajilla and the maniac Armbar is no longer a threat, we will stand with our allies."

Hundreds are confirmed dead in the rocket attacks, which occured throughout the northwestern provinces of East Chanchajilla. Parabocan citizens were injured in the strikes as well.

There are fears that East Chanchajilla is considering a military strike against West Chanchajilla, which would be the most extreme response to the worst violence since the 1972 War and the 2018 Turania conflict.

President Cardoza has not stated whether Paraboca will support East Chanchajilla militarily or whether Paraboca would commit troops to confronting West Chanchajilla, although he has not stated against it either.

President Blanian Condemns West Chanchajilla While Urging Restraint From Allies

Image
Rocket strikes occurred across the entirety of East Chanchajilla, 2/23/2021
Constantiopolis, Constantio - President Tony Blanian in an emergency address strongly condemned the actions of West Chanchajilla's government and the regime of Frederick Armbar following a lengthy series of deadly rocket strikes that have killed nearly 500 East Chanchajillans. In the statement, Blanian touted strongly his commitment to seeing the "tyrannical regime end their reign of terror", while also calling for "restraint and moderation" from the governments of East Chanchajilla and Paraboca, who have both placed their national militaries on high alert and indications of retaliatory strikes are becoming more and more evident.

"Armbar is the epitome of evil, mark my words and don't take my words away from their literation," Blanian said, "he continuously proves to the world that he cares not for human life."

"While we stand with our allies of East Chanchajilla and President Boer's government, we urge that they commit to restraint and moderation. A wider war is not what we want to see, especially in the context of humanitarian disasters spreading across the world nowadays."

President Blanian has been bogged down in the past year with his administration's main concern being the Syraranto Civil War. There is growing concern that with the tensions on the superpower of Zamastan's doorstep, international attention will be pulled away yet again from the devastating war, which has killed 400,000 people and has resulted in a major humanitarian crisis with hundreds of thousands of refugees.

"A new humanitarian crisis is not what we need. We need to prevent it," Blanian continued. "If a conflict escalates between the Chanchajillas, the refugees and displaced peoples will be locked in the middle, threatening to overrun national capacities to deal with the crisis and the national capacities to end the rule of madmen. We're seeing that here in Constantio and Syraranto, it's emerging similarly in East and West Chanchajilla."

Blanian also called on President Moreau of Zamastan to urge restraint as well, as the President has remained largely silent on the crisis beyond an address in the wake of terror attacks last week. The foreign department of Zamastan has also been vague on response, fueling concerns that they are overwhelmed with multiple foreign policy crises reigning from the political crisis in Alecburgh, coup in the Tervali Islands, and many more obvious stipulations.

RHAGA TRIBUNE
"Cease your actions, Armbar" Says President Akram Sulaiman
Sulaiman Addressed the Deadly Rocket Attacks Against East Chanchajilla and Called for Frederick Armbar to Pull Back

RHAGA - President Akram Sulaiman addressed the Emmirian Consultative Assembly in an emergency statement to formally condemn West Chanchajillan dictator Frederick armbar for the first time in his short administration following the horrific rocket attacks in East Chanchajilla that have killed hundreds of people and left thousands maimed.

"Cease your actions, Armbar," Sulaiman said, "you must stop this violence."

Rockets rained across the northwestern provinces of East Chanchajilla and the capital of Vilanja following a tumultuous several weeks of tensions that began with arrests of West Chanchajillan diplomats in over 15 countries, two deadly terror attacks meant to assassinate East Chanchajillan politicians, and now the threat of direct armed conflict between the two central Euronian nations.

President Sulaiman reportedly held a phone call with President Gideon Boer of East Chanchajilla, promising support and full pledge to ending the West Chanchajillan threat, and he also held a phone call with Zamastanian President Atticus Moreau in the immediate aftermath of the attacks.

16 Lutharians were killed in East Chanchajilla today following the horrendous rocket attacks when a West Chanchajillan rocket slammed into the hotel that they were staying in. Hundreds of Chanchajillans have been killed since the attacks began this morning, with hundreds of West Chanchajillan rockets falling across the northwestern provinces of the countries.

Great Lutharian President Baldur Hirschl sent condolences to the family of the Lutharians killed in the attacks, as well as his condolences to the nation of East Chanchajilla to President Gideon Boer in a phone call. WEST CHANCHAJILLAN MISSILES INTERCEPTED, PREVENTING CATASTROPHIC DAMAGE

Image
A Surface-to-Air Missile Defense System in Resenville, Pahl, fires to intercept West Chanchajillan rockets early in the morning on February 23rd, 2021

TOFINO - Amid rampantly escalating tensions with West Chanchajilla and a flurry of violence and a pending military retaliation by East Chanchajillan forces, Zamastanian Secretary of Defense Camille Boffrand told reporters today the Zamastanian Armed Forces intercepted and shot down upwards of 50 missiles that were fired by West Chanchajilla. According to Boffrand, as well as reports and eye-witness testimonies from cities in northern Pahl province, several anti-missile systems activated after detecting rockets by West Chanchajilla being launched into Zamastan.

Footage from Resenville, 10 kilometers north of Little Tribe River, showed puffs of smoke and explosions in the sky as air defense systems in northern Pahl intercepted West Chanchajillan missiles. Authorities have not specifically stated where or what the missiles' targets were, but according to radar tracking released by the Defense Department, the missiles' trajectory puts several major cities in their path, including Little Tribe River, Foreman City, Riverview, and further south, the entirity of the Emerald-Alanis-Coalmont corridor, which is Zamastan's most populous metropolitan area with more than 40 million people.

Additionally, the city of Blythe, capital of Mayotte (the former province and now-independent Zamastanian protectorate) reported interceptions of rockets. Perhaps most worrisome, according to some officials, is that if authorities in both locations had not been made aware of the threat and ongoing attacks in East Chanchajilla at the time, the interception systems may not have achieved full success in shooting down the rockets.

In East Chanchajilla, the human toll from the intense rocket attacks sits at 542 people killed, with thousands being injured and maimed in the relentless bombardment which saw upwards of 600-700 rockets strike dozens of cities across three provinces there. Foreign fatalities are also high, as one of the targets hit was a hotel in the city of Turania popular with tourists. At least 54 of those killed were foreign citizens, with 16 of whom were Great Lutharians. The Zamastanian State Department has not confirmed whether any Zamastanians were killed in the attacks, although there is confirmation that there were injuries inflicted.

"50 missiles intercepted is a good sign of our readiness," Secretary Boffrand stated, "but it should have never happened. We shouldn't have had to shoot down these missiles. West Chanchajilla overstepped. They tried to kill Zamastanians today. Mark my words and hear me clearly. Zamastan stands firmly with East Chanchajilla through their efforts to remove the threat of destruction, and as we have seen firsthand today, West Chanchajilla marks us in a similar regard. On behalf of President Moreau, Zamastan will respond forcefully."

President Moreau, who has uncharacteristically not made a public statement since last week, is remaining silent. As concerns and skeptisism grow that East Chanchajilla is preparing a retaliatory strike against the West, a general belief is that Zamastan will do something to the same capacity. Whether that is anything from generalized support of the East Chanchajillan government to a direct military strike remains to be seen. President Moreau had previously stated that "all options are on the table" and that Zamastan would "respond forcefully", but Secretary Boffrand's statement today is stoking rumors of a wider response.

President Moreau has, according to a representative from the President's office, has spoken with East Chanchajilla's President, Gideon Boer, regarding the attacks, and he has also been in contact with allies in WEDA and the CCA. Zamastanian forces have been placed on high alert, but there are no clear signs of mobilization from military sites anywhere in the northern province, at least to the degree that the Tofino Times or local news outlets are able to confirm.

Shooting Spree Kills 6 and Injures 12 in Vongane

VONGANE - An attempted arrest by police officers on suspected drug smugglers turned violent as the suspects, now believed to be affiliated with the criminal syndicate SHADOW, opened fire in retaliation and killed 2 officers before fleeing the scene of the attempted arrest and going on a shooting spree, killing four citizens and injuring a dozen more before being killed.

The shootings were the most deadly in Vongane in several years, resulting in fears that it may have been tied to the ongoing tensions with West Chanchajilla in the wake of terror attacks and rocket barrages against their immediate neighbors.

Authorities say there is no direct threat ongoing to the public of Quetana, stating that this was an isolated event.

"We regret the loss of life," said the Vongane Security Authority chief, "and our brave officers put their lives on the line to protect us, and they paid the ultimate sacrifice."

Emmeria & Kossmil join TAFCA/Gracemeria-Traran Bridge Opened

Image

Infinity - Today the Gracemeria-Traran Bridge opened up to all traffic, marking a new era in commerce between Austrolis and Timeria. The bridge started construction in 2011 after both parties signed the Trans Adula Fair Commerce Accord along with Vitosium. The bridge was a part of talks to increase mobility between Austrolis and Timeria. At a cost of over ☫3 billion the bridge has both lanes for traffic and rail. The bridge also includes a tunnel to ensure maritime traffic can travel through the straits. A data cable was also built parallel to the bridge, this will further connect both countries and build on an expanding network.

The Trans Adula Fair Commerce Accord also accepted two new members today. The Islamic Republic of Emmiria and The Republic of Kossmil have both joined TAFCA. Emmeria is one of the largest economies in the region and a leading democracy. Kossmil is a newly formed democracy, neighboring Vitosium. TAFCA has initiated plans to help develop the economy in Kossmil and President Raso has pledged ☫350 million to help develop Kossmil’s economy.

The Trans Adula Fair Commerce Accord has grown significantly and increased trade around the region has started to increase overall productivity. Citizens in member states are starting to see the benefits of the treaty as wealth in the region grows. Overall support for TAFCA has grown in Timeria and many see it as crucial to the Timerian economy. TAFCA has expressed their hope that additional nations in Adula will join in the future.

President Raso also announced the Albarine Sea Conference which will be held from April 7th to the 9th. The Conference will be held in Arianna, Timeria and will welcome countries from across the globe. The Albarine Sea is an important environmental and economic region with many countries relying on its resources.

VILANJA SENTINEL
EAST CHANCHAJILLAN FORCES COME UNDER FIRE ON BORDER
WEST CHANCHAJILLAN FORCES ENGAGED EASTERN TROOPS ACROSS THE BORDER
"WE ARE AT WAR", SAYS BOER

VILANJA - Chanchajillan Republic Armed Forces came under heavy fire and a prolonged battle when West Chanchajillan forces engaged with them along the border in Turania, one day after a violent barrage of missiles from the West killed over 500 people in the East.

According to military officials, dozens of casualties ensued, including some soldiers killed in action. The Eastern troops, on patrol on the East side of the border, were fired upon near a high ridge way and endured significant trouble reporting back to their command headquarters in Turania. They responded with retaliatory fire, killing an undisclosed number of West Chanchajillan soldiers in the battle.

"This was an act of war," President Gideon Boer stated following the incident, "and we are now at war."

If there was any doubt that military action was to be scraped from options, that doubt has disappeared. President Boer has reportedly told his military advisors to all return to Vilanja for an emergency meeting in the wake of yesterday's devastating rocket attack, but now those military officials have been silent to even regular staff, indicative of a wider plan to retaliate.

President Boer spoke with President Moreau of Zamastan and President Selleaux of Avergnon in the wake of the attacks yesterday and today's confrontation between the two militaries, and there is further belief that a wider response may occur. Missiles were also launched into and intercepted by Zamastan, but officials there state that they had ample warning of an attack due to the previously underway rocket launches into East Chanchajilla.

"We will show Armbar that his reckless disregard for the international plight," said senior East Chanchajillan military official Timothy Manuela, "as well as the safety and wellbeing of his own populace, will be met with devastation."
