After a surprising win over Indusse in the opening match of the Cup of Harmony (2-3), the Frestovenians now lost its second group match with big numbers against host nation Northwest Kalactin (5-2). In the first ten minutes of the match, the Northwest Kalactin side got the upper hand and came close to score an early goal. Will Sanders fired a shot on goal, but the Frestovenian defence bravely blocked his effort. Five minutes later it was again Will Sanders that had his eyes on the Frestovenian goal, again his effort went well over the crossbar. The team of Northwest Kalactin and their supporters were waiting for the first goal in the match. In the 29th minute, the goal was finally there. Keith Torres unleashed an unstoppable shot inside the left post. Seven minutes later it was Thomas Butler that made a second goal for the Kalactins. Not the start that the Frestovenians had in mind. The match statistics showed a dominating Northwest Kalactin side taking 76% possession and fired 12 shots on target against only one coming from the Frestovenians.
Comeback?
The team of Northwest Kalactin continued with scoring goals. Only two minutes after the start of the second half and we already have a goal. Thomas Butler made his second of the night. His shot found the right post past the goalkeeper. 3-0 shows the scoreboard. Frestovenia had to come with answers and they did come with answers. A penalty in the 50th minute was taken by Olaf Artvikker and he fired the ball in the left post. Later on, Sven Ogson had a huge opportunity, but he blazed his effort high over the bar. Frestovenia was very close to making it 3-2, but they were very unlucky. Instead of making it 3-2, a terrible mistake of Frestovenian defender Klaus Vage resulted in the 4-1 for Northwest Kalactin as he lost possession, allowing Keith Torres to pick up the ball and score the goal. This goal surely secured the win for the Northwest Kalactin side. Things got worse for the Frestovenians as the opponent scored another goal. Frank Owens scored an absolute screamer from the outside of the box, with the ball flying into the top left corner. The four turns into a five and the Frestovenian players on the pitch can just not believe it. Runnert Jartute made a second goal for the Frestovenians for the statistics with a header flying past the goalkeeper from a corner kick. Northwest Kalactin wins and totally deserved that. They did what they had to do here. Northwest Kalactin 5, Frestovenia 2.
