The Islamic Human Rights Commission is seeking the recent legalisation of slavery in Sharifistan to be declared unconstitutional and for the Sultan to be ordered to undertake part-time education in a philosophical or Islamic topic along with his royal duties.
They cite the opinion of Sheikh Mohammad Tarawneh as well as Qur'an 90:12-13 to indicate that the freeing of slaves (and hence the abolition of slavery) is desirable from an Islamic point of view and hence enslavement is haram.
