My main concern with the bid is the single round robin group stage. If there are four-team groups, that only leaves three matchdays where someone who would be eliminated in a group stage could potentially post a RP/rosters etc.

My secondary concern is with playing the entirety of the tournament in the host country.

That said, this is a solid bid from a highly accomplished host and I would support it in spite of the concerns listed above for that reason.

EDIT: I've TG'd the other five nations that took part in the AOLC last time out. I'll flesh out a host bid for AOLC 4 once I get out of work and have time to post from my phone.

After going through the past few WLCs, it turns out the last WLC that had a 3 match group stage was back in WLC 28. And guess who hosted that? (Me!)

So I'll actually update my bid to have a double round robin group stage, 6 MDs will be a better reflection of how we've done it for a while. We've generally had in the 5-6 match range, and that's a fair number of games to stick to.

As for matches all in the host country, I'll stick with all matches in Banija.

I like the centrally located host, and agree that unless you are going to have 6 or more teams in a group, double rounds makes more sense.

Sylestone bid for WLC 36

Sylestonean information:
Sylestone is a tropical island country, located in the far west of the region of Esportiva. Albeit reasonably new, it is known for many things, most particularly for the rich sporting culture the nation has. It has become a relatively known nation in the sports of lacrosse, cricket, association football and Australian Rules football. The nation is home to beautiful lush rainforests, beaches and reefs, tourist attractions that are all well worth your time to visit. But despite the importance placed on the environment, Sylestone also has a thriving economy that is run by the tourism and cheese industries that make the island a very nice place to visit. Football stadiums will mainly be used as the grounds for the knockouts and if a single round-robin takes place, although some specialised lacrosse grounds will be constructed so as not to interfere with the football.

Hosting Experience:
The user behind Sylestone has had the opportunity to host the second Aussie Rules World Cup, and more importantly, the 78th Cup of Harmony (with Ethane) and 74th Baptism of Fire (with Graintfjall).

Scorination and RP bonuses:
Scorination will be made via Northwest Kalactin’s new web-based scorinator known as Kalactinator. Style modifiers will be in use.
RP bonuses will be generous and cumulative, with rosters gaining up to twice the amount of one matchdays’ worth of RP.

Format:
If groups contain six or fewer teams, then a double round-robin will take place. If this occurs, then it will be a home-and-away.
24 teams: Four groups of six, top four from each group to the round of 16.
28 teams: Four groups of seven, top four from each group to the round of 16.
30 teams: Five groups of six, top three from each group and best fourth place to the round of 16.
32 teams: Eight groups of four, top two from each group to the round of 16.
36 teams: Six groups of six, top two from each group and the four best third-placed to the round of 16.
40 teams: Eight groups of five, top two from each group to the round of 16.

Tiebreakers:
H2H Points
H2H Goal Difference
Goal Difference
Goals For
IC coin flip (OOC: RP Bonus)
OOC coin flip

Questions? Feel free to ask!

I most likely won’t be here between 1am on the 2nd of January all the way to around that same time in four days time, due to real life commitments (UTC time). This means that, yes, I will miss the bid cutoff but looking back at the past timeframes host voting has allowed, I should be back when the results are announced. This means that any questions should be asked within the next 36-48 hours.
Apologies for the inconvenience.

This host bid is coming fairly soon after the Baptism of Fire Cup is wrapping up. I'm slightly concerned about the prospect of host burnout in terms of asking as a curiosity.

My only slightly larger concern is your relative lack of experience with lacrosse, but even that's only enough to warrant curiosity rather than be a deal breaker.

I've been in the Cup of Harmony that Sylestone co-hosted and the Aussie Rules World Cup he hosted. I have no doubt that Sylestone has the maturity to handle this tournament. He allayed any concerns about that when he bid to host the aforementioned Cup of Harmony as a completely inexperienced host. Now that he has larger tournaments under his belt, I would feel confident if he were voted in as host.

First of all, thanks for the feedback and queries.
With the prospect of host burnout, I do understand that, yes, it is a possibility, but I do feel like I can handle it. The Baptism of Fire hasn't been too hard on me, Graintfjall has been an excellent cohost, and it's been really smooth, in general.
As for your other concern, I completely understand this, too. I have only been around for WLC 34&35, and while I've RPed actively, lacrosse certainly hasn't been my strong point. However, I have seen the way it works and I feel confident in running a smooth tournament.

I hope this answers your questions.

NS Stats are mostly accurate except for a few things, like this nation is capitalist and the death penalty isn't in effect

News:All trade with Crabaiaia and Pikala has stopped as diplomats meet in Trenaka. Silvedanians are confused by Quentin Tarantulatino's new film, Seasonal Snackbox(This is a Bojack Horseman reference.) Weird song goes viral for making no sense.

(Just stopping by; I don't think I will be signing up, as the WC87 qualifiers are coming up and I am not that prolific of an RP-er.)

Well, I wasn't really expecting that!
So, I currently count 26 nations signed up, up to Quebec. I think we will be aiming for 28 nations, with groups of seven and the top four qualifying for the round of 16. I will try and prepare the everything thread in around 24 hours, and get ready to post it for when the final two nations sign up.
Let's get this show on the road!
