Your wish is my command.
The polyandry thread got onto a tangent around celibacy. That isn't the topic of that thread, but luckily it is the topic of this one!
To steal the first line of Wikipedia, "celibacy is the state of voluntarily being unmarried, sexually abstinent, or both, usually for religious reasons". Some people might see it as a moral good, that one should strive to be celibate for whatever reason. Others might not care about striving to be celibate, and that it really should be up to us if we want to be celibate or not. And there might be a few of you who think we should be the exact opposite of celibate and be as sexually active as we can manage.
So, NSG, is celibacy a moral good that we all should strive for, or is it something that we shouldn't really care about achieving (or something else)? Why/why not?
As for my opinion, I don't think we should really care about being celibate all that much. If you want to be celibate, go right ahead, I'm not going to stop you. I don't think we as a society should expect people to be celibate though, especially since I don't see anything inherently wrong with being sexually active.
